By the way, if you can come by, our resource center is open every day until about 4.30 in afternoon. Drop in. is exciting. We’re going to have a sundown service on Saturday, United, 6 o’clock celebrating the resurrection of Christ again from the dead. We believe that Christ was crucified on Wednesday put in the grave by sundown, would be in the grave 72 hours.

He tells us that in Matthew 1240. And so that means he has to come out of the ground at sundown. And guess what? That’s the end of Sabbath at 6 p.m. Saturday and the Sunday night comes first in the Jewish canning of the day from 6 p.m. to 6 p.m. and so just as the first day begins Christ rises but it’s not until morning they discovered the tomb is empty Christ was already risen by 12 hours. Come join us if you’re in driving this is for a sundown service and we hope that we’ll see you this Saturday night at 6 p.m.

And Sunday will be, of course, celebrating the discovery of the empty tomb at 10.30 in our morning worship on Sunday. You can catch that on the Internet. If you go there about 11 o’clock, click on the camera on the home page and you will get that worship service on Resurrection Sunday. That’s right. It’s Resurrection Sunday. We don’t use the E word. We try to avoid it because that word is pagan. But the true word that we ought to be using, it’s so powerful, is happy resurrection.

This is Resurrection Sunday coming up and I hope that you have made that adjustment. We’re excited about being with you again. We’re planning to go to Israel again. We just got back, had a wonderful trip, a safe trip. We just enjoyed it so much. It was so much that we saw everybody on the trip was excited. It really changed their lives and we have people that want to go again. If you’d like to be on that list, would you call and say I’d like to be on the Israelist?

We’ll keep you appraised of our plans as we develop them and we’d like to hear from you what would be the best time of year for you to go? What are you expecting out of the trip? Is there another country you’d like to visit because we’re thinking about maybe adding another country, maybe Egypt, maybe Petra in southern Jordan, maybe Greece, we’d like to hear from you. What would you like to do? And right now you can mold this trip into the trip that would be your dream trip.

We’re definitely going to Israel, but we’d like to maybe add something else. We want your input. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. And we hope that you’ll give us a call. And also, don’t forget you can call and ask for a resource sheet. We’ll send it to you free of charge. You can ask for that crucifixion week chart that outlines what happens every day this week. Free of charge. We’ll send that out. And of course if you want to order anything you can call that number and order any resources from our resource center.

And we hope that you will get ahold of that number and write it down someplace. 1-800-576-3771. We want you to know we’re going to teach 2nd Peter beginning April 1st, 2nd Peter beginning April 1st, 5 weeks, 2 hours every Tuesday night for 5 weeks, 10 hours of teaching on 2nd Peter. We just finished 1st Peter. That’s available. Also the Gospel of John is available. That’s nearly 20 hours of teaching. We also have Romans, the Book of Hebrews, the Book of Jude, the Book of Revelation, the Book of David.

Revelation book of Daniel so many of these series are so powerful people tell me that they learn every time they play it Even if they’ve heard it three times they go back and listen and they pick up things They didn’t pick up on the previous go around you will find them a very very great study on Those books of the Bible verse by verse You might want to call and get one of those serious put them in your CD player in your car and and learn while you’re going to work work, and coming back from work, or maybe when you go on vacation, have a series in your car to play while you drive, or maybe just in your home, or use it to facilitate a home Bible study or a Sunday school class.

These tapes are used in lots of different ways. We’re actually CDs, and many of these now we have available on DVD as well as CD. I’m Dr. Engvensterman. We’ve had a wonderful time in the past couple of weeks as we visited Israel, also visiting the NRB, the National Religious Broadcasters in National Tennessee. And there are a lot of new doors opened up for us. We’re excited about what God is doing. And one of the things is our TV programs are going to be translated into Turkish and broadcast into Turkey.

We’re excited about that. And the possibility of me going over to train pastors how to evangelize, how to win people to Christ. So we’ll see what the world has in store, but we are praying that God will bless bless the Bibleline in this coming year. Who knows when the Word is coming back? Maybe He’s going to come back this year. Wouldn’t that be something? So please give us a call at our 800 number, put your name down on the list if you’re Israel or ask for the resource sheet or the Bible Crucifixion Week chart.

We’ll send that all free. Also, you can order directly over the phone and we’ll ship out whatever resources would be helpful for you. So give us a call. Alright, we’re going to talk about the Bible for a few minutes and a lot of people ask what happened when Christ was crucified. Today is the day. This is Wednesday. We believe In the crucifixion week it was Wednesday to Christ’s crucified. That means at 6 a.m. this morning Jesus would have been brought before Pilate and Pilate would have pronounced the judgment that yes they would allow him to be crucified.

Then at 9 o’clock Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross of Calvary. Then at 12 noon God set off the lights and darkness of the corona crossed the face of the earth and nobody really saw what transpired between Jesus the man and God the Father on the cross. Until three o’clock then Jesus yielded up his life and said it is finished speaking about our sin that having been paid for in its entirety by his death on the cross. Then there were three hours.

They had to hurry the burial. They had to get the body in the grave before Passover began Wednesday night at 6 p.m. or sundown, which is when Thursday night begins. You see the Jewish day counts the night first and it begins at 6 p.m. So at 6 p.m. tonight Jesus would have been placed in the grave. The Passover would have begun tonight at 6 p.m. And then for 72 hours Christ would have remained in the grave. he would rise exactly 72 hours later and that would mean Saturday at sundown as the first day of the week began, the night period first, and then in the morning, the discovery of the empty tomb.

That’s a brief summary, but that’s really what happened as we outline the Crucifixion Week and so today is good Wednesday. There is no good Friday, there’s no possible way to get 72 hours between Friday and Sunday and Jesus made it plain in Matthew 1240 that He would be three days and three nights. In the heart of the earth, three days and three nights in the heart of the earth, there’s no way to make that anything less than 72 hours.

Also, other problems are resolved because some verses talk about Christ being raised on the third day and then other verses talk about Him being raised after the third day. The only way to reconcile that and make the Bible harmonize without a contradiction is is to say that Jesus rose exactly as the third day ended and exactly as the fourth day began. That means that sundown Saturday is when Christ had to rise. It’s all exciting and we believe that hopefully this will excite you to get into your Bible and look more carefully at the events that took place.

But my friend, Jesus Christ, according to the Bible story, it was today and he would right now be hanging on the cross of Calvary as he was going to die for you and for me right now. And at three this afternoon, stop and pause. It would be at that time that Christ yielded up his spirit and he died physically. And then three hours later he’s in the grave and the three days and three nights are under way. And tonight would have been the beginning of the Passover, which of course Jesus died as the Passover Lamb.

First Corinthians 5, 7 says, for even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. So Jesus is the Passover Lamb and he died for every one of us. Not just the Jews, for the Gentiles as well as the Corinthian letter was written to Gentiles and Paul in the Corinthian letter says for even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. So he died for the Jews, he died for the Gentiles, he died for the whole world. John 3 16 says it plainly for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.

And so Jesus died for you and for me and for the sins of the whole world and all that would put their trust in Him would receive the wonderful gift of everlasting life. You too can receive that gift right now by simply trusting in Christ as the one who died and shed his blood to pay for your sins and was buried and rose again from the dead. I certainly hope you’ve done that and if you haven’t done it, take a moment right now to do that.

the three days when Christ was in the heart of the earth, He was in paradise. It’s amazing today we have a number of preachers that are preaching a fantasy about Christ going to hell. Jesus never went to hell. There is nobody in hell yet. Matthew 2541 says that hell was designed for the devil and his angels. Satan and his angels get to be first in after Christ come back at the second coming, ruled and reign on the search for a thousand years, then we find after the thousand years are expired, Revelation 20 verse 7.

It says verse 10 that the devil was cast into the lake of fire where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night, forever and ever and ever and ever. Then the lost of mankind will be brought up out of Hades, judged according to their works, the sign of the degree of punishment and cast him to that lake of fire as well. But there’s nobody in hell yet. But yet a lot of preachers are preaching that during the three days that Christ descended into hell and there he battled with Satan and his demons and it looked pretty bad for Jesus.

They paint quite a story of knockout blows delivered by the devil and his angels as they kick and spit and mock and give Jesus a hard time. But somehow their story He turns out that at the end of the three days and three nights that Jesus, sometimes gets a second wind, he pulls an upper cut and takes Satan out with one punch and he wins the victory and pays our sin debt. That is phony baloney. That is phony baloney.

That is phony baloney. Jesus never went to hell. The apostles creed is wrong that he descended into hell. Jesus went to paradise. Notice what he says. In Matthew 1240, he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Then in Luke 23, 43, he tells the ninth thief, today thou shalt be with me and what? Paradise. When Jesus died on the cross, he said it is finished. That Greek word, one word that’s translated into three English words, it is finished, is an accounting term.

It means paid and full. Full satisfaction received from the debt. Jesus did not pay for one sin after he came off the cross. He paid for all of our sin, past, present, and feature on the cross. But the devil is clever. And boy, what a story people are preaching today that Jesus actually paid for our sins after the cross. That’s a lie. Satan doesn’t want you to believe on what happened at the cross that Christ death and shed blood purchased your sin but somehow in some battle with Satan and his angels he paid our sin that that is bypassing the cross bypassing the blood bypassing the real means by which we were saved and the devil absolutely has these counterfeits all the time this is terribly wrong and a blasphemy against Christ and what happened at the cross where Jesus died and shed his blood to pay for your

sin debt and mine. Be careful what you believe and maybe you need to check everything out against the Bible. Even me, check me out because Satan wants us to believe a lie. And that’s one more clever lie that he tells that you can bypass the cross and believe in some battle that Jesus had with the devil and his angels and that’s how he paid for our sins. That’s That’s not true. Jesus paid our sin debt at the cross. It was His death and shed blood, and when He completed that payment, He said it’s finished.

Debt paid in full. Full satisfaction received for the debt. I love that hymn. Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson tide, but He washed it as white as snow. Isn’t that interesting? Well, I hope you found it interesting and today’s the day that celebrate the crucifixion. We’ll be doing that tonight in our prayer service. I hope you’ll come. If you’re driving distance Saturday night will have a sudden down service celebrating the resurrection at the time when we believe he rose.

That’s at 6 p.m. And then we’ll have a Sunday service celebrating the discovery of the empty tomb on Sunday morning at 10.30. welcome to come and be a part of that service. I’m Dr. Engfinser and we’re going to go to the phone lines if you’d like to call us. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call and we’ll get you up on the air. We are wanting to call at 1-800-576-3771 and we have Curtis and Curtis is calling in from Jackson, go the Lord of Curtis welcome to Bibleline your own year.

Good morning, Dr. Hank. Good morning. Father of Nathan the prophet and can you explain only me who Nathan I’ll hang up and listen. Okay, well David had a son by Bathsheba called Solomon and he was of course the one upon which the throne of Israel fell. became king and the Kingly line of David came down through Solomon. But Nathan was the other son and we find that Mary is related directly back to Nathan and therefore to David. And so when the Bible says of the flesh Christ came of the Jewish people it’s because he came of the line of David through Nathan.

If you look at the genealogies, you’ll find that in Matthew where we have the genealogy of Joseph’s genealogy, we have Solomon is the one that springs off from David. But if you look at Luke chapter 3 where you have the genealogy of Mary, you’ll find that you have David, then you have his son Nathan. So these are the two ones Joseph and Mary, both really back to David. Because Joseph was not the real father, the curse of Kaniya did not come upon Christ, and therefore the airship to the throne could be passed on to Jesus.

But of the flesh, Jesus being the God-man, his flesh was directly related back to King David through Nathan, the other son of David. Curtis, thank you for that call up in Jacksonville, Florida. We now have Jonathan in Miami, Florida. Jonathan, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. This is Dr. Hank. Yeah. Hey Dr. Hank, how you doing? Good.

that women pastors is correct and that in second Timothy this one path to try to describe the women being preachers it was an argument or something for that nature and that’s where they get in the doctrine confused. Well, I don’t know. Well, I don’t know of any verse that would support women being preachers. First Timothy chapter 2 tells us quite plainly that the women were not to be the Bible teachers that I suffered not. It says in verse 12 of 1 Timothy chapter 2 a woman to teach that word is unique it’s teaching the word And it says women are not to do that nor do you so authority over the man But to be in silence so not to be the spiritual leaders elders deacons or pastors and there are two reasons verse 13 here in 1 Timothy chapter 2 says first for order for

Adam was first formed then Eve So God obviously gave the spiritual responsibilities to the men because Adam was the first created, not the woman. And then secondly, because apparently women have a tendency to be spiritually deceived as Eve was. It tells us in verse 14, Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. So we find that throughout the Bible, when women are in leadership oftentimes they go off into doctrinal error. And this very book, First Timothy, says in chapter 4, to be careful, it says in verse 7, refused profane and old wives’ fables.

Boy, several cults would really fit into that category, especially Mary Baker, Eddie, the Christian scientists. She, I guess, would be considered her an old wife. She had five husbands. And so obviously the last one that she married was a clockmaker. I think he fixed her clock. But that group is neither Christian nor are they scientific. They are a cult. They deny all the basic tenants of Christianity. And seven in the same way. They follow the writings of Ellen G.

Way. They’ll never get straight because they need to get rid of her books and then read the Bible and they would come out okay but they keep reading her writings and interpret the Bible through her lenses and it’ll never be straight. So basically that’s the answer. There’s nothing in the Bible that would support a woman being a preacher. Well what about this argument that he said that happened between, it was some type of I thought that was held and that I was a meeting.

It came that it was just an argument of something that was… I don’t know what passage you’re referring to, you’ll have to be… I don’t see it second Timothy, but I can’t understand what this guy was. There’s no reference if you can find it bring it back up and we’ll talk about it Okay, okay, thanks a lot. Thank you. Thank you Jonathan down in Miami, Florida. We’re now going to go to Bob in Cape Coral, Florida and Bob Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Hi, Dr.

Hank. I was just listening to you about the The dynamics of Holy Week and Wednesday being what it is, but my question is, and I’ll get off the phone and listen to the radio. Could you explain to us who selects when Holy Week is on the calendar? Like last year, it was the first week of April and this year, it’s the third week of March. And what parameter did they use to pick when Holy Week is on the calendar?

I have that written down here and I missed a piece of sheet of paper, but basically if we were to follow the scriptures and the Jewish counting, we would be doing this in April because it slides back and forth with the lunar moon. But I really think politics, I think all the universities want to have their spring break at the same time. I think the schools likewise want to have their spring break at the same time and I think that basically businesses as well, they want to have their spring sales centered around this event and so they set the date for us and I think we’re kind of stuck with the political thing.

But it doesn’t really matter because we’re really being reminded of what happened that wonderful week when it did happen but if we were to be very technical we would go to the month of April to the Jewish Passover date, that’s the correct one. I’m going to say bye to Miami and we were glad to have a caller just for Miami a minute ago. We know you signed off early before the stations, but God bless you all and continue to listen, pray for us, and if you can help us, we certainly need your help to remain on the air down in Miami and also to be able to maybe pay for a second half hour and let you have the full hour Bible and program down there in Miami.

Alright, well we’re back to our phone lines here and thank you for calling in Bob from We’re excited about this week. This is a special special week and today really would be the day we’d celebrate the crucifix through Christ. As I mentioned I think yesterday is that many people you’ll read about it in the paper this Friday. Stig bottles will bleed in their hands and in their feet and in their side and in our foreheads where the crown of thorns was.

seriously supposedly suffering the sufferings of Christ, but I believe if that were true, they would bleed on Wednesday. They bleed on the wrong day. Every year you see this thing and Christ truly could not have been crucified on Friday because there’s no possible way you can get three days and three nights between Friday and Sunday. The Bible is clear. If you count to three forward in count of three backwards, you can figure it out. We clearly know that the first day of the week is the resurrection day.

If you count back one day that’s Saturday two days That’s Friday three days. That’s Thursday and Wednesday turns out to be the crucifixion date so This is good Wednesday Friday is regular Friday and of course This weekend will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ again from the dead Maybe we ought to celebrate it twice because Passover will be celebrated at the correct time in April and maybe we ought to celebrate the resurrection of Christ again then. But certainly this is a special time for us to think about that Christ went to the cross was crucified to pay for your sins and mine and when you trust Him and His death and shed blood as the means of your salvation God saves you.

Well we’re going to take a break. We’re going to come back and do a second half hour Bible and I hope you’ll join me. So keep your radio dial tuned right where it is and you can go to the internet and catch the full program on the internet as well for many places in the world. We’ll be right back. Don’t go away and I’ll be right back on the short break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment.

Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well I’m Dr. Englund, and this is Bibleline and it’s great to be with you. Thank you for tuning into the broadcast. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I am the pastor. And if you’re ever in the area, we want you to drop in and say hello. We’ve had visitors yesterday from Michigan. We’ve had them Sunday from Indiana, from South Carolina, from South Florida, from all over.

They come by and they visit and we are just delighted to get to meet you. If you ever come into Tampa, take that extra minute to find us. We’re right next to the airport. We’re just a block west of the main north-south runway. So take that extra minute and come by and knock on the door and say hello. We would certainly love to get a chance to meet you and we love to meet our listeners and I think that would be just delightful.

So plan on coming by. If you can’t ever get here, you’re living in another city, you’re not going to be traveling to Florida. Then get on the internet. And you can go to our website and you can catch our worship services on Sunday Morning Live at about 11 o’clock. You can also catch the sermons for the past year in archive. And I hope you’ll do that. Please take a look at the archive of our sermons. All you have to do is go to the camera on the home page, click on that and you’ll find is a year’s worth of programs sitting there waiting for you to watch.

By the way, you can order our programs on CD and the worship services on DVD. Plus the classes we’re teaching. We’re going to do second Peter. We just finished first Peter before I left for Israel. You can get first Peter right now and shortly we’re going to begin teaching second Peter and you can order that on your over the phone and we’ll have that in CD and DVD so you can watch the actual videos and the programs.

Wouldn’t that be great? In any case we have a lot of wonderful resources here. The CDs of our teachings, many of the classes now are on DVDs so you can watch them as well as listen. I think it’s wonderful and I hope that you… We’ll take advantage and give us a call and order some of these materials to be used in your car or in your travels as you go to and fro from work and take advantage of the teachings that we have here available for you.

I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and we’re going to rejoin stations now that have been on break and do the second half hour of Bibleline and I hope that you will stay tuned as we will do that right now. When you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question, you can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for that break and this is Bibleline. This is an exciting week.

I’ll tell you, we are celebrating the resurrection of Christ this week. And of of course today would have been the day that he was crucified we believe on Wednesday so that would make today good Wednesday and the day that Christ was crucified. We believe he was placed on the cross at 9 a.m. that would have been this morning at 9 a.m. And at 3 in the afternoon he would have given up his life and died and that was today.

That would be this afternoon. And then, of course, there had to be a hurried burial. And they got him in the grave by sundown about 6 p.m. tonight. And then for 72 hours Christ remained in the grave. And Rose, we believe at the end of the 72 hours since he’s placed in the grave at sundown, he has to come out of the grave at sundown. And so Christ rose, we believe, at a night and send out. Guess what? We’re having a sundown service here at my church, Calvary Community Church.

You’re welcome if you’re driving this to come at 6 p.m. to celebrate the resurrection of Christ at our sundown service. Christ didn’t rise Sunday morning when they came in the morning. They found the tomb empty. He was already risen, we believe, by about 12 hours. If you leave Christ in the grave until Sunday morning, then you violate the scriptures where Christ promised you to be in the grave three days and three nights. He would be if you leave you in the grave until Sunday morning, three days and four nights.

Three days and four nights. That’s obviously not correct. And so Christ rose, we believe, Saturday night. I may be the only church in America that’s suing a send-on service, but let me tell you, probably when it really happened not Sunday morning. Well we’re excited and by the way we just got back from Israel we saw the tomb of Christ we saw the Hill of Calvary we had a marvelous trip we want you to go on the next one if you’ll give us a call get your name on the list of those that are interested we’d love to have you join us for my trip number 16 I just finished the 15th trip to the Middle East taking groups over and this next one will be trip number 16.

I’d love to have you go with me. We’re gonna learn a lot. Everybody on our group, I think, will tell you that they grew and learned and their lives will never be the same again. We’d like to have you get it on my next trip. Call us. Let us know that you’re interested and we’ll keep in touch with you and make our plans accordingly. God bless every one of you that listed. By the way, Bibleline is listed or supported.

It’s truly a miracle that we’re on the air. But as our economy dips, we also have found that we’ve had a dip and we need your help. Could you help us at this time? Would you pray for Bibleline? But if you could give a gift, no gift is too small. If everybody would give a little bit, you sure would help us and we could use that gift. You could call us at 1-800-576-3771 and give a gift by credit card over the phone.

Would you consider doing that if you’d like to mail it? You can call an ask for an envelope to be sent with our address on it and mail that gift to Bible and what a special time of year is we appreciate what Christ gave is he gave his life for us. Would you consider giving a gift to him not to be saved, but because you are. And make an investment in eternity and in souls. And we believe that giving the Bible on would be a good investment because we’re reaching people with the gospel and challenging people and we’re meeting people who are going into ministry who are opening their Bibles up and studying them, that their lives are different as a result of listening to this program.

Well we’re going to go to the phone lines again and you can call if you want it 1-800-576-3771 and we have Yvonne in Port Charlotte, Florida. and Ivana. I think if I was there, I don’t know. We’ll see who I’ve got here. Welcome to Bibleline. Yes sir, good morning to you. Brother I will. How you doing? Well I’m doing pretty good. I got a real question that really never answered. I tried to get this out of people. And you know I was reading the Bible this morning.

I always read. You know the Bible said, where the gods said, it’s self-breast, part of blemish. And then it goes on the slate. We get down to the revelation about the churches in this morning. He is truly in the worst church age of the day to get a church. I don’t think bigger that the lot of see a church, well, he’s a good to the church that he’s threatened to spew out of his mouth. How’s his church? His church is going to be the one to go.

All right. Good question. Well, positionally, we are found perfect or righteous in God’s sight. He has sanctified us by his death and shed blood at the cross. And according to Hebrews 1014, by one offering, he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. So the believers are perfected forever, positionally. In our actual state, we still find that we have a lot of improvement to make in our lives. But Christ will be presenting us to Himself as a bride without blemish and without spot.

You can read that in Ephesians 5, 27, and that’s because of what happened at the cross. But as far as our deeds are filthy rags, no doubt about it but we’re at, well none of us deserve to go to heaven, none of us deserve to be the bride of Christ, but we are there by grace, by mercy, or you save through faith, and this salvation is none of yourself. It is the gift of God, none of works, lest any man should boast.

now we’re going to go to mary in barter and mary barter in barter welcome to bible and well thank you and we heard you loud and clear from israel in that great yeah all it was wonderful here in the over there uh… i got a question um… my sister listens to a pastor that says that god didn’t know that satan was going to turn against me and try to overstone and i know that there’s a passage somewhere in the bible that says uh…

He planned our salvation before the foundation of the world. Can you direct me what? Sure. First Peter chapter 1 verse 18, 19, and 20 tell us exactly that. But also in John’s Gospel when Christ was betrayed there in the garden, when the soldiers were coming. Interesting verse one of many. It says here about Jesus. It says Jesus, therefore, having received the ban of men, chapter 18 verse 3 of John, and officers from the chief reasons and parisies come up with ladders and torches and weapons, verse 4 says, Jesus, therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him went forth.

That pretty much tells the story. He knew all things that were coming on him and that he was going to go to the cross. But the other passage I’ll read it to you, it’s in 1 Peter 1, what a beautiful passage here where Peter tells us in verse 18 for as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things such as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers. But with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, here There it is, verse 20, who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but manifest in these last times for you.

And I don’t know why. She keeps telling me that that was a surprise to God. That’s the one thing that was so important to him, yeah, humanity just threw him off. And I don’t believe that. Not for Christ’s name. Well, of course not. Of course not. And she, you know, she just tries to tell me that that was a shock to God. that you know he that was the only thing i guess he didn’t know he over-cut over-look at that i guess you know god can’t be omniscient and not know everything because of by definition god is all knowing he knows everything right uh…

and he knew and and jesus john eighteen three i love that verse because jesus knowing all things that should come upon him he knew everything was happening when those soldiers came to betray him that was not the surprise Well, she wants to argue that that was the one thing that he just didn’t let himself know. And I can’t believe that because that was so important to all of us. Hey, man. And his son too, you know. Hey, Mary. Well, thank you for listening and go back and show her that verse.

Oh, well, thank you. And I’m glad you’re back from Israel. Glad you had a safe trip. Thank you so much. That was Mary and Barto, Florida. We’re not going to go to James and Hampton, Virginia. And James. James, welcome to my one. You’re on the air. God bless you. I always enjoy your wisdom and your share of the plan of salvation. But I have a question concerning Jesus talking with the disciples. It’s in Mark the fourth chapter and he gave the disciples, asked him about him teaching and parables, and Jesus began to answer by saying to them that I’ll…

I’ll They it was given to them the northern mission and then he began to say that on saying that they know that Well the answer is that Christ book and parables not to reveal truth, but to conceal truth So the parables you have to be very very careful when you Read them and interpret them. I have lots of books I have lots of commentaries and I’ll tell you get six different commentaries off the shelf and you’ll probably get six different interpretations of the parables.

That’s why you have to interpret them in the line of the scripture and be very careful. Some of them were blessed that God or Christ himself interprets from the forest, but he’s saying here that seeing they may see and not perceive and hearing they may hear and not understand lest at any time they should be converted and their sins should be forgiven them. So there’s the group that are saved who desire to know God’s Word and they become open to those who are believers who want to know the truth.

But to the unbeliever, it says here that they’ll read the parables and not get heads or tails out of it. And by the way, that connects very well with 1 Corinthians 2, 14, where it tells us that the natural man, That’s the unsaved man. The man has not been born again. Does not receive the things of the Spirit of God for their foolishness to him. Neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned. So when the lost person says the Bible doesn’t make any sense or the Bible’s a lot of foolishness, that’s a tip off that they’re not saved.

So the unsaved will not understand, but the believers will understand. And if you’re seeking the truth, you can understand the gospel and become saved. But not until you become saved will the rest of the Bible really make any sense. I certainly hope that helps and thank you for that call. We now are going to go to Darnell in St. Petersburg and Darnell, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. How are you doing, Dr. Hunt? Good. The question is, I think it’s in Jeremiah, the third chapter, and he speaks about home, man.

What’s the He got on that the successor is Moses Joshua. He speaks about Joshua. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Israel who’s at that time his name was Joshua. Oh, okay then. I was the high priest of Israel at that time whose name was Joshua. Exactly, but not to Joshua that marched around Jericho. Okay, then. That’s how Joshua and the battle of Jericho. Jericho. That’s the different Joshua. And that’s just another one of the references about the federal dollar.

are in their cues man but crisis also always there to be our advocate. Amen. Okay then, I just want some clarification on that one. I didn’t mean the same to you but I couldn’t resist. Thank you, don’t know. All right, God bless that. That was darn Ellen St. Pete. have Helen and he’s in Queens, New York. And let’s see here. Helen is on line two. Okay. Helen, welcome to Bibleline from New York. Yes. Good morning, Pastor. Good morning. I just have a simple question to ask.

I love the Lord. Whenever I’m worshiping, I worship my hands a lot if I’m even at the end just if that is… Anything wrong with doing that? Certainly not. When the Bible talks about worshiping God with holy hands, the way we demonstrate that sometimes is to show that our hands are empty. If we have no weapon, we have no knife, we have nothing in our hand to bring harm to someone else. And an empty hand lifted to the Lord is a certain expression of our coming with no malice or a God.

we’re coming holy to worship him. So you’re on the right track. Thanks, Beth. You’re very welcome. Thank you for calling from Queens, New York. And we’re excited about being on the air. Up in New York, we’re not going to go to Minnesota. We have Larry in Manson, Michigan, and Larry, welcome to Bibleline. You are on the air. Good morning, Dr. Benson. Good morning. I have a question. Actually, there are three parts. There’s a rich man and Luke 16. Is that a parable?

It’s not a parable. Parables never name specific individuals, and so that is a tip-off, and it doesn’t use the word parable there. So it’s talking about two real individuals. It says a certain rich man, and then it talks about a beggar named Lazarus. Whatever reason God doesn’t name the unsaved person and perhaps it’s not important for us to know. Apocryphal and secular literature have named him Demus, the E-M-S, but we really don’t know. And one day we’ll probably get a glimpse of him as he’ll be brought up out of Hades, where he’s found in Luke 16 and cast him to the eternal lake of fire.

We’re all going to be there when that event takes place. So I believe we’ll watch that happen. I wanted to go. I turned it off before you started. I’m sorry. And I’m going to hang up and listen to your answer. The second reaction of the rich man who died and what he said about lessons coming to the deepest finger in water and coolish tongue. And the third question was, why did he want Abraham to send him to come to hang up in this to your answer please?

Alright, well I think it’s an incredible passage. It looks 16. It’s not a parable. It’s a real, real life story to specific men, a certain rich man, and then he names the beggar Lazarus. As far as the water, the coolest tongue, obviously is in a place of flame and torment. This is where all the unbelievers wait to be cast into the lake of fire. It’s not a purgatory. They’ll still wind up in hell no matter what they do. And there was no chance for this guy to ever become saved.

There’s no second chance. So Joe’s witnesses talk about a second chance after death. This man obviously had no second chance and Abraham makes that very clear. And then we have, thirdly, he is a concern about his brother. So notice he’s interested in prayer. He’s interested in evangelism. He doesn’t want his brothers to come there. And true of every unsafe person, I think if we could interview them, they wouldn’t want any family member to come. They would want him to be witness to.

And so he boarded Abraham and said Lazarus back up to the surface of the earth and to to his family’s house to lead his brothers to Christ. And obviously we need to wake up and realize we need to do that before we slip into eternity. We need to win our friends to Christ, our relatives to Christ, our family to Christ before it’s too late. Sure do you think you, we now have Robert and Robert is in Petersburg, Virginia and Robert welcome to Bibleline.

Now this is Robert. My question is, could you explain Hebrews 7, or who is my kids with that? Sure, we’ll do that. I believe Melchizedek is Christ, a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus in the Old Testament. Certainly, Jesus tells us that he appeared to Abraham and Abraham saw him and rejoiced to see his day in John 856. But here in Hebrews chapter 7, you’ll notice Melchizedek is the one who also appeared to Abraham in the Consenesis chapter 14. And in Hebrews here, notice about this man, his description here is that of Christ.

that says he is without Father, verse 3, without Mother. He says, without the scent, neither having the beginning of days nor the end of life, he’s eternal. And notice it says he’s made like unto the Son of God. And so those are all qualities there that I believe without a doubt, lead us to believe this was a preincarnate appearance of Christ in the Old Testament. He appears out of nowhere. He has no father, no mother, no beginning of days, no end of life.

and he appears to Abraham and receives ties of him and refers to his Abraham and it must be Jesus. Hope that helps, Robert. I have one other question. Okay, go for it. I hear a preacher said no preacher should be called a Reverend. Is this accurate? Yeah, Matthew 23 in verse 9 says we’re not to call any religious leader, father or Reverend Matthew 23 verse 9 Only God is reverend or is holy And therefore there is no man holy on this earth now.

I know the roman catholics called the pope his holiness That’s not true. He’s a man like the rest of us. He’s a sinner like the rest of us all have sin and have come short of the glory of God. And the only one that is holy or righteous or to be reverent or worshiped is God. Exodus 20 verse 14 tells us that God and God alone is to be worshiped or to be reverent. Thank you very much. Robert, you’re sure welcome.

Thank you for calling in from Petersburg, Virginia. We have a lot of fellows that are in jails incarcerated around in different states and here in our local Tampa Bay area also that are listing the Bible and calling and wanting resources. We’ve had two letters this week asking for Bibles. If you’d like to help us with that ministry, we would like to supply Bibles. Again, that costs money and we run really, really, really tight. But my burden is for these people to have Bibles in the prison to be able to read and study.

If you would be interested in helping us, that would be great. You could call it and say, I’d like to help with that particular ministry to be able to send. We send literature, we send other things, but we’d like to be able to supply a Bible for every prisoner who’s listening. We have many in the jails that listen every day to Bible, and then are benefiting from our literature. We send them, but it would be great if we could have some sponsors for a Bible for somebody in jail.

And maybe you’d like to help. And we’ll trust that God will supply. We have Joe in Taeffle, Florida, I’m told, and leaves this off your question. He says, where did the apostles creed come from? not from the apostles, why is their title apostle upon the screen? Supposedly, this is what the apostles believed. Those who came up with this creed, which is hundreds and hundreds of years after Christ was here, but it’s wrong. It says Christ descended into hell, and therefore I don’t like to recite it.

Christ did not go to hell, as we said earlier in the program, when he died he went into of Paradise and was there three days and three nights and then he removed Paradise so thou it’s in heaven itself. Alright, we’re going to go to one more caller here. We have a caller and that didn’t get your name. What is your name? Oh, you’re Dr. Anonymous. How you doing? Good, Doc. Hey. Yeah, it is. Hey, Mom, what’s your name? I’ve been in Israel.

You should have gone with me. That would have been quite a time together. You enjoy your trip? We had a great time. It was safe and it was great weather, great food, great everything. Oh listen, let me tell you why I call it. You was telling me I’m saying something about it. You shouldn’t call it no matter what revenue or something like that. I don’t think you should get too dog-mannered about that because the Bible saying about the Reverend is basically talking about the Reverend’s individual just like that.

And that particular scripture was, it didn’t say nothing about Reverend, which you quoted. That scripture is just talking about Cardinal Manfahr. But then again, the Bible, the army of Manfahr, and stuff like that. But I know what you’re coming from. So they have something to know my nation of people that’s in Catholicism, and they address their priests and stuff like that. So I know what you’re coming from that. But it didn’t say anything about Reverend. Now back in Psalms, I wasn’t telling my family with God name, but then again, it was speaking of respect also God name is Jehovah You know, and yes you, right?

And if you want to get in hell, man, you will ask you how much she is. You know, I’m saying I’m not your fellow. I want to share that with you. I don’t know. I told him today. All right. Thank you for sharing that with us. Obviously, there is no man who is to be worshiped or to be placed on a pistol as God is. But sometimes that happens unfortunately. And I believe as if you read Acts chapter 10, you have Peter coming to the house.

They felt under worship him and he says, stand up, I’m just a man just like you are. And you see that numerous times in the book of Acts where the apostles never ever accepted any kind of worship and said that I’m just a man of like passions and like desire, it’s just like you are. They never, never claim to be especially holy above everybody else. Have to run, time has run out today, but we’ll be back again tomorrow. Again, we’re going to be celebrating the crucifixion tonight and the resurrection Saturday at Sundown if you’re driving this and you’re welcome to come.

By the way, by the way, as Lester supported, we need your help. As the economy has dipped, so has our giving and we need your help to take care of business. If you could send a gift or give a gift by credit card or the phone, that would be wonderful. We’re going to be back tomorrow. you’ll listen to all the rest of the weekend. Hope you’ll have a wonderful resurrection weekend, resurrection Sunday. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. And we believe He’s coming very soon.

Well I’m Dr. Englund’s room we had a great day today with you celebrating this week being crucifixion week and this Sunday Resurrection Sunday and of course today is Wednesday and it’s the day we I believe Christ was crucified during the Crucifixion week 2000 years ago.

Wow, what a special day as we think about what Christ did for you and for me. We weren’t deserving. There was nothing lovely or deserving about us. And yet God loved us so much that He left heaven, came to the earth, took on human flesh, went to the cross of Calvary and died for you and me. Thank God the grave could not contain him. He was able to overcome death and the grave and came back from the dead. And we believe that happened at Saturday 6 p.m.

As a result, we’re going to have a sundown service. And we believe that’s because that’s when he really did rise, not in the morning. But we’ll be celebrating next Sunday as Resurrection Sunday and celebrating the Resurrection of Christ again from the dead. It’s exciting what a special week it is. I hope you’re using the R word this week when you talk to people don’t use that E word, but say the people happy resurrection Call this coming Sunday resurrection Sunday call the candy giving out resurrection candy call the dresses that the ladies might wear a resurrection dresses and the special music resurrection music and and just Edit that little word out and get rid of E and substitute it with the word R And you’ll I think you’ll feel better about yourself and this will be a special extra special week as a result.
