Coming to you from Calbary Community Church in Tampa, Florida declaring God’s love through radio and television, providing real answers to an ever-searching world. Got a question? Dial toll free at 1-800-576-3771. Now here’s the host of Bibleline Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Good morning and welcome to Bibleline great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you each and every day. Monday through Friday as we come to you live from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida.

And we invite you to come by and visit us sometime or open every day till about 4.30. Our Resource Center is open every day Monday through Friday and also you can catch that Resource Center on the Internet. If you go to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org, you can click on the online bookstore and you’ll be there in our Resource Center. That’s great. Also, you can catch the radio program live and also later in the archives for about two years, I think you can catch our radio programs on the Internet.

Plus our TV programs and plus our worship services. They’re there sitting there for you in archive a whole year’s worth of sermons. And you can catch those live on Sunday morning if you go there at 11 o’clock, a few minutes after maybe, and click on the camera and you’ll get the live worship service every Sunday. And then you can go back and watch a year’s worth of sermons in archive. Guess what? We have classes tomorrow night. We’re teaching 2nd Peter.

If you’re in the area, you’re welcome to come and sign up and be a part of the class. And we’re excited about this particular study. It’s going to be available for you on CD and DVD. And first Peter’s already finished. We did that before we left for Israel. And now we’re doing 10 hours of teaching on 2nd Peter and we’ve got class 3 and 4 tonight, next week will be class 5 and 6 and so on. And by the time April is over, we will finish 2nd Peter.

This is a book that the devil doesn’t want anybody to read, apparently. Liberal theologians hate the book and it seems like the devil doesn’t want people to study the book. And I think it’s because it arms and equips the Christian for the latter days and to be able to detect deception. And we are living in a time of deceivers. You know, it says in 2 Timothy chapter 3 that evil men will grow worse and worse deceiving and being deceived.

Wow, that’s characteristic of the times in which we’re living in and believers believers need to be armed and 2nd Peter is a book that really does that. I hope you’ll get this series either by CD or DVD or if you’re in the area come out and be with us tonight. That’s right. From 7.15 to about 9.15 we’ll be studying 2nd Peter. I’m excited. I hope you will come out and join the excitement as we get into God’s Word and last week everybody just didn’t want to class again.

We had a great time. We’d love to have you come as well. We’re talking about going to We’ll see you in the next video. Israel again. We just got back just a couple of weeks ago and we’d like to go again. We’re talking about a 10-day trip all Israel with an option leaving before the 10 days where we would go to Cairo in Egypt, visit the py Krugids, probably go inside if you’d like the The Great Pyramid, enter the Ferris Chamber right in the heart of the pyramid.

What an experience. And then also we’ll get to probably ride a camel there if you’d like to try that. We’ll be having a dinner cruise on the now-roo downtown Cairo. What a beautiful evening that’ll be. I’ve done that before many times. We’ll also be staying on a hotel, in a hotel on an island downtown Cairo in the heart of the Nile River and it’ll be a five-star deluxe hotel. You’ll find it just a wonderful experience. We’ll see the Cairo Museum, over a hundred thousand artifacts.

You’ll see mummies. You’ll see the treasures of King Tut. Your eyes will bulge out. As you see, all of the treasures of Egypt displayed there for you in this incredible please call the We’ll leave Cairo and we’ll drive to Elot on the Red Sea. What a beautiful vacation spot that is. The Red Sea is beautiful, clear, full of life, full of all different kinds of marine life. And we’ll get a chance to enjoy Elot. We’ll drive over into Petra in Southern Jordan.

You see, Elot is right there where Israel, Egypt, and Jordan all touch. And we’ll drive right into Jordan. We’ll go see the Rock City of Petra. which is incredible. It’s a city already prepared for the Jews who, after the rapture, during the tribulation period, will flee from the Antichrist, and their God will miraculously hide them, feed them, water them, take care of them until the Second Coming, and then they’ll be brought back into the land of Israel. writing stuff 40 square miles beautiful colors and the rocks.

It’s called the Rose Red City of Petra. It’s now acclaimed as one of the seven modern wonders of the world. And this city lay dormant for thousands of years until in 1850, an English archaeologist rediscovered it to the world. And it’s quite a, quite a visit. We’ll then drive to Israel from a lot and the people from the states coming for the 10-day part will join us and then we’ll be all together as one group until the end of the tour.

It’ll be totally a 15 days if you do the whole trip. And if you have any input, we could either go this October 15th or we could wait until February. We’re trying to get more input from you as to what would be best for your schedule. And if you want to go in October, call in and give us your vote, or if you want to go in February, call in and give us your vote and we’ll make our decisions here soon.

Anyway, get your name on the list if you’re interested and we’ll keep you informed, call that number 1-800-576-3771. You know, as a Christian, what are you doing with your life? Sometimes I’ll hear preachers say that we are to glorify the Lord and they might ask you, how are you going to glorify God? Well guess what? There’s really one purpose that we have here in which we really glorify the Lord. In John’s Gospel, chapter 15, it says in verse 8, here in is my Father glorified.

in is my father glorified that you bear much fruit. Now I believe the fruit of the Christian is to reproduce ourselves that is where to win somebody else to Christ. This is not the same as the fruit of the Spirit. And the fruit of the Spirit of course is the fruit that the Spirit bears when we yield our lives to Him and allow Him to work in our life. the fruit of the Spirit is love and joyous and peace and long-suffering and gentleness and meekness and so on.

But the fruit of the believer is really another believer. The Bible teaches right from Genesis that everything reproduces after its own kind. And if you were an apple tree, you would expect that you’d have little apples. If you were an orange tree, you’d have little oranges. If you’re a corn stock, you expect you’d have kernels of corn. And if you’re a believer, you would expect that you’d have maybe believers as the fruit of your life, your journey through this world.

Well, that’s what it’s saying. John 15 verse 8, here in is my Father glorified that you bear much fruit. Yes, it’s true that our purpose on the surface to glorify God, but most people don’t have a clue as to how they can glorify the Lord. Well, the Bible tells us here, and these are the words of Jesus himself, and he says, herein is my Father glorified that you bear much fruit. And then he says, so shall ye be my disciples.

You know, we’re saved by grace, not by works. We’re saved by God’s unmerited favor, His mercy toward everyone that would simply trust in the finished work of Christ at the cross of Calvary. But then after we are saved, we have a second choice to make and that’s to be a disciple. And guess what? Again, a lot of people that claim that they’re disciples really aren’t because it says in John 15-8, here it is my Father Gorified that you bear much fruit.

It’s ready now. It says, So shall ye be my disciples. If you’re not bearing fruit, then you’re not a disciple. You see, the whole purpose of the discipleship program of Christ is to win souls. Jesus said in Matthew 4, 19, Follow me and I will make you fishers of men. Follow me and I will make you fishers of men. He didn’t say, follow me and I’ll make you a great singer in my choir in the sky. He didn’t say, follow me and I’ll make you a great usher in my congregation in the sky.

He didn’t say, follow me and I’ll, and the list could go on and on as to different things that people do. But he said, follow me and I will make you a fisher of men. The end result of our Christian life is such that we should be touching other lives with the testimony of the gospel of Christ and people should become saved. It begins with our family. What about our children? Are they saved? What about our grandchildren? Are they saved?

What about our moms and our dads? Are they saved? What about our aunts and uncles and nephews and nieces? Are they saved? You know, when I first got saved at 18, my target was my brother and my other sister, my one sister brought me to the Bible study where I got saved. And then us children targeted mom and dad and we got them saved and then our whole family worked together as a team and we targeted all of our other relatives, aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and nieces and anybody that was breathing that was a relative we tried.

I remember my dad, he got saved and then oftentimes on a Sunday afternoon when we had nothing to do, he would say to me, son, get in the car, let’s go over and check out Grandad. And we’d go over and get Grandad out on the back porch and we would quiz him as to what he had to do to be saved. We did that so many times. There was no question about where my grandad went when he died. And in fact, I got a chance to preach it as funeral.

And I told all the relatives who came that if they ever wanted to see my grandad again, they had to trust Jesus Christ, or they’d never seen, because he was in heaven. And the only way to go to heaven to be able to see him again would be for them to trust Christ as Savior. What a thrill it was for me to be able to tell my granddad’s story, his gospel message of how he got saved and to see family members hear that message and our whole family got excited about telling others about Jesus.

What about you? Are you glorifying the Father as a a Christian, well the way to do it is John 15, 8, write it down, mark it down. Herein is my Father glorified that you bear much fruit. So shall ye be my disciples. Are you the disciple of Christ? Well, if you are not attempting to lead people to Christ, I would say you’re not a disciple. That’s correct. Unless you are in some way attempting that other people get saved, involved in praying for the lost, supporting ministries that reach the lost, yourself inviting people where they can hear the gospel, giving out tracts, in some way trying to reach others to tell the story to your family and friends of eternal life.

You need to do that. And we have a great book, by the way, in our Resource Center, called the Handbook of Personal Evangelism. We have it in Spanish. We have it in English. It is the greatest evangelism tool I’ve ever read. It tells you the one-on-one how to talk to someone else. It imagines your conversation, what you’ll say, what they’ll say, what they’ll and it talks about how to talk to a cult member. It mentions the Joel’s Witnesses, the Seventh Day Adventist Mormons and Christian scientists and others.

Also, it mentions some of the world religions. It mentions how do you talk to an atheist and agnostic and evolutionist, and it gives you tips on what to say to be able to lead them to Christ. I certainly hope that you would maybe get that book. I also taught a 10-hour course on handling souls of Christ, and that series is available. We had a lot of folks that learned how to lead people to Christ in that course. You can get it on CD and just call them.

Our operators will be glad to help you. This is Bibleline. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. I hope you’re enjoying the program today. We invite you to call in. We’ll take our callers in just a minute. 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call. And by the way, Bibleline is listed as supported. If you enjoy Bibleline, please pray for us. We are right now in a week where we have a real shortfall. We need about $20,000 right now. If you could help us, that would be great.

Any gift would be appreciated, whether it’s just a dollar or whether it’s a thousand dollars. About week it really is your help. This week to make sure that all of our stations continue on the air because I think part of the economy and things that are happening and we just pray that the Lord will raise up listeners. You know a lot of people don’t realize that it costs a great deal to be on the air. I don’t get paid to be on the radio.

I don’t take a salary. And we have two men in here right now with me in this video answering phone calls and they don’t get a salary. They are volunteers to make sure this program gets out as far as it can and we have a low overhead as a result of that. But still, because we’ve extended ourselves so far, we need your help to be able to make sure that this program continues in your area. So if you can help us, we have an immediate need of about $20,000.

Could you help us? If you would just call 800 number, you can give a gift by credit card over the phone. And also if you would like to mail it, you can mail it. You can also go to our website and go to the online bookstore. And there’s a place there that you can give gifts. you can do that by credit card on our secure website and that would be greatly appreciated. Well, we’re going to go to the phone lines.

We’ve got a number of colors here. We’ve got Claudia in Miami, Florida. And Claudia, welcome to Bible in your honor. Oh, thank you very much. Thank you for your program. God bless you all. My question is this. Up to what point is there a responsibility if it’s a family member or another person who have that you ought in an example to lead you to Christ. Do they have with you later on as time goes by? Well, everybody has a responsibility and I think in a family that absolutely that’s God’s plan to have us reach one another.

You know, I think of John chapter 1 and verse 40, when Andrew got saved, it says he first findeth his brother Simon and we find that Andrew led Peter, Simon Peter to Christ. And that’s the way it is throughout the Bible. When you go to Acts chapter 10, you have Cornelius. He was waiting for Peter to come to his house and tell him how to be same. And he apparently, of course, didn’t have telephones, but he somehow got together.

All of his relatives and near friends, and they were all sitting there waiting when Peter came and Peter told him the gospel and I believe all of them got saved. What a wonderful thing. Everybody was obviously reaching their family members and we find the Philippian-Jailer in Acts 16 gets saved. And what do we see in the next few verses? His whole family got saved. They all believed and got saved. And so very definitely I think every believer has that responsibility.

But if they fail, the Lord can still get the gospel into your family through somebody but ideally a family member needs to step up to the plate and take that responsibility and share the Gospel with each of you. Okay. All right. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. You can see all that in the book of Acts which is such a practical book on what happened in the early church and family members reached family members and that’s how they spread the Gospel.

We’re here at Bible and 1-800-576-3771 and we’re excited about being on the air in Miami and we ask you down in Miami to help us because right now Miami is not self-supporting and so we need your help to be able to continue on the air in Miami and in our areas because if we Don’t have the money, then we just have to drop a station or two where we are not getting the support we need. So pray for us and we pray that you’ll respond by calling our 800 number or going to the Internet and giving a gift on the Internet, but you can do it by credit card over the phone.

We have Pam and she’s in DeBary, Florida, over on the East Coast, and she said on Tuesday’s program last week. There was a caller that said that printers are teaching in air He wrote about the book of Christ and the name of Christ in the last century, and when did He rise? And what are your scripture references? Well, Christ rose on Sunday, but He rose at the beginning of Sunday, and you have to count how the Jewish people count their day.

They count it from Sunday to Sunday. So Sunday night comes before Sunday. Today is Tuesday and last night the way the Jewish people count time was Tuesday night. The boy we count time tonight is Tuesday night, but really in Jewish counting at 6 p.m. tonight, Wednesday night begins. So I hope that’s not too confusing. But you remember Christ was placed in the grave at sundown. He died at 3 in the afternoon and he was in the grave 72 hours.

So he had to come out of the grave at sundown. And that means he came out of the grave as the Sabbath ended Saturday at 6 p.m. And that’s when Sunday night began. So he rose actually Saturday at 6 p.m. And that’s when Sunday night began the first day of the week and in the morning they discovered the empty tomb. I would give you Matthew 1240. Grace said he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth at 72 hours.

If you leave Christ in the grave till Sunday morning, that would be three days and four nights. And that is not what the Bible teaches. And of course we find that all the references to Sunday morning, we find people coming to finish the burial and they simply discover in empty tomb. They did not see the resurrection. The resurrection really wasn’t seen by anybody. But Christ, after he had risen the next day, which was Sunday, he showed himself alive, and for 40 days he showed himself alive by many infallible proofs the Bible says in Acts 1, 3.

Acts 1, 3 is another good verse to write down. Thank you, Pam. We’re now going to go to Lou in Tampa, Florida, and he says, a believer receives rewards or crowns. can’t believe or lose rewards or crowns that he has already earned. That is a good question and I think that you may not actually earn some of them until your life is completed, but in any case I wouldn’t want to risk that. It does teach over in 2 John, verse 8, it says we need to look to ourselves that we We lose not those things which we have worked for, but that we might receive a full reward.

So look that verse up and just contemplate that. You don’t want to lose out on what you could have earned or what you have already worked for. So the implications is there possibly you can lose out on some that you could have earned or would have. As a believer, you don’t want to risk that. You need to be faithful, serving the word not to be saved, but because you are. Again, we want to sign off for Miami. They’re signing off before other stations.

God bless you folks down in Miami. I was born and raised in Miami, so I have a particular love for Miami and the people there. We’re glad that we can be on the air. We need your help though to be able to continue on the air. So please consider calling us and if you could help us this week, that would be wonderful because we have a particular need. Just call 1-800-576-3771. And thank you in advance. God bless all of you.

All right, we’re back now to the other stations that will still have a few more moments before we go to our break. We have anonymous in Tampa, Florida, and says, will there be an ocean in heaven? He says, I hope so. Well, if you read Revelation 21 verse 1, it says, I saw a new heavens and a new earth for the former heavens and former earth were passed away and there was no more sea. So it may be that there will be no ocean there in the new heavens and new earth.

We’ll have to wait and see. James in Little Rock Arkansas calls in and he said, did Abraham, Sarah, or Isaac leave blessing of raising. The dead on earth. I really don’t understand your question James. You’re gonna have to call back and rephrase that for me. But they certainly were blessed of God in leaving a legacy of people that would carry the gospel and become God’s witnesses here on the earth. The Jewish people throughout all the Old Testament were God’s witnesses to the world of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

James, thanks for listening in from Little Rock Archive as well. We certainly hope that you’ll give us a call back and we’ll try to clarify that question for me and then I’ll try to answer that. We’re going to go to break here in just a second. Again, I hope everybody listening has trusted Christ. The only way to be saved is to simply put your trust in the finished work of Christ and He saves you the moment you do. Even if you want to be a disciple or glorify the Father, then you need to start leading other people to Christ.

That will really be the purpose for your purpose-driven life. We’re going to go to break. We’ll come back in just a minute and do a second half of Bible Life. I’m not carrying on the stream. We’ll be right back. Don’t go away. We’ll be back after this short break. Don’t go away. Bible Life will be back in a moment. us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and it’s great to be with you here on this Tuesday and we’re excited about teaching second Peter and you might want to order that series on CD or DVD.

Right now you can get first Peter. We already can. finished teaching at 10 hours of teaching and that’s available. We also have the gospel of John that was a wonderful series, nearly 20 hours of teaching and we broke that into two parts. So you can get 10 hours of teaching on John part one and 10 hours of teaching part two of John. You can get those on CD or DVD and you’ll find that’s a wonderful, wonderful study on John’s Gospel.

Not too many places have a verse by verse exposition of the scripture available on CD or DVD and we do. We have about 40 different presentations. You can get my series on the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel, many other books and we have topics like the Holy Spirit, 12 hours of teaching, the Rapture, 12 hours of teaching, It’s not only souls of Christ, 10 hours of teaching. You can look on our website, on our online bookstore, and find many of these in order directly off of the website.

You can also give it to Bibleline on the Internet, on the online bookstore. This is a time when we need help. This is a critical time for Bibleline. We need this week, about $20,000 to keep everything going without having a station taken off the air. We don’t want to lose any station. We need your help and so pray for us and we hope that we can see the Lord provide that money by the end of the week. If you can give a dollar, that would be great.

If you can give a hundred, that would be great. If you can give 500 or 1,000, that would be incredible. And we want to thank you in advance for your love and your gifts and your prayers to Bible and to keep us on the air. We’re going to also go back to Israel at looks like and we’re talking about a trip either October 15th of this year 2008 or in the spring late February 2009. Let us know what would be best for you.

Call us and get your name on the prospect list that you’re interested and tell us I’d I can go this year in October or I’d like to go next year in February, the end of February and that’ll influence us as we are making decisions right now. We’re going to go back and rejoin the stations that have been on break and do a second half hour Bible. I hope you’ll stay tuned and listen to that second half hour. It’s also being streamed at the internet so goodabibelineministries.org and you can catch the full program there.

But here we go. Keep your radio tuned right here. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lynch from a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lynch from All Right. We’re back for that break and this is my one. It’s wonderful to be able to be with you. God bless all of you who listen. We love to talk to our listeners or get to meet them.

If you ever can come by, we’d love to have you do that. We were talking to people yesterday from New York State. We talked to them from all over the United States. They call in here. It’s a pleasure. If you can comepsc tonight, if you’re in driving distance, we’re teaching 2nd Peter live in the classroom. We’d love to have you. as a part of that study. And we’re doing class three and four tonight, and then next week five and six and so on, till we get 10 hours of teaching on second Peter.

Let me tell you something. The devil doesn’t want you to know the contents of second Peter. That’s a book that exposes him and his apostles today. And so you need to really be informed If you’re going to not be deceived in these last days. Second Peter’s a great book. You can get it on CD or DVD when we conclude. But if you’re in driving distance, we’d love to have you actually here with us in the classroom as we study this incredible book.

Second Peter, the second letter that Peter wrote first and second Peter are powerful, powerful books written by the Apostle Peter. Of course, God is the author of all scripture. But Peter, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, gives us this incredible book of 2nd Peter. That’s tonight. And it really runs from about, we say 7 o’clock, but 7.15 to about 9.15. We hope you can come. And we have people driving from pretty good distances to actually be here in the classroom with us.

And we hope that you’ll come and be a part of it. Otherwise, you can order the CDs or DVDs and have them shipped to your home. By the way, you can get our Sunday servants. They’re available on DVD and CD and you can call in here and you can actually subscribe to all the Sunday sermons on CD and have them shipped out to your home or you can order them on DVD and have them shipped out. We have quite a few people that have them shipped out all over the country and they, at At the end of the month we’ll receive the full previous month’s messages and are able to enjoy them in their car and their home and wherever they might use them.

So you might want to call in and subscribe to the series of Sunday sermons and you can get them every month sent to your home. We also have many other things in our resource center. We’ve got some inexpensive pamphlets. One of them is called the Facts on Islam. That one is extremely powerful. It will help you to know some of the cracks that are in the Islamic faith. Contradictions in the Quran. Well, that is powerful to kind of get a person who is a Muslim to question their faith when they realize that their book, the Quran, is corrupted.

It’s got mistakes and contradictions in it. Whereas the Bible does not. But the average Muslim is taught that the Bible is corrupted and that the core end is perfect. And obviously you can show them. You know the core end teaches in one place that God created the earth in six days. In another place it says he created the earth in eight days. Clear contradictions. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. Anyway we can help you with those.

I think it’s for a gift of about seven dollars. We have a great book called One Minute After You Die by Erwin Lutzer. Powerful to reach somebody who is about to lose a loved one or someone who has just lost the loved one. It answers their questions about life after death and you’ll want to get that book and give it to a person breathing the loss of a loved one. We’ve got numerous edit books. Our resource center is full of books.

You can call and ask for a resource sheet to be sent to you. And you can also go online and see our resource center on the internet at bivalignministries.org or go.com. If you’d like to call in, the phone number here today is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call. Planning to go back to Israel, if you want to call and get on the list of people that are interested, will keep you informed. We can possibly leave as early as October 15th of this year or at the end of February next year.

Give us your preference. When would you like to go? And that will influence us as we make this decision. Do you want to head out this year in the fall or do you want to wait until spring of next year in the February? Give us a call. At 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to think a few more offer questions here. We have John in Paradise, California, and he calls in with this offer question, and he says, where in the Bible doesn’t say that the Trinity is the truth.

Seems to me that it is clear in the Bible that God is God and that Jesus is the Son of God. The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit that he gives to us by it or via Jesus. I read the Bible myself and it seems pretty clear. What am I missing? Okay John, good question. You’ll find that throughout the Bible, the Bible talks about three distinct persons in the Godhead. If you look with me in John’s Gospel, for example, we find that it tells us in verse one of John 1, in the beginning, was the Word.

The Word is another title for Jesus. And it says, and the Word was with God, and the Word is God. So we find here that God the eternal son not only is God but he is with God the Father from eternity past and that he became flesh and dwelt among us according to John 1 14. In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God. So Jesus is God, correct, but he is the second member of the Godhead.

Let me go further down to John chapter 14 and here we have several verses that have all three members that the God had mentioned all in one verse. We have verse 16 where Jesus says, I will pray the Father. So there you have Jesus and then it says here I’ll pray the Father, there’s the eternal Father and he shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever for seventeen even the spirit of truth. So there you have all three, you have Jesus and then you have God the Father and then you have God the Holy Spirit, all three mentioned in that one passage.

Verse 26 also John says, but the comforter which is the Holy Spirit, there’s the third member of the Godhead whom the Father, there you have the first member of the Godhead, the eternal Father, will send in my name, there you have the second member of the Godhead, and there’s numerous verses like this where you have all three members. In the Old Testament in Genesis 1-1 it says, in the beginning God. The word God there is the Hebrew word Elohim.

And Elohim is a plural word for God. And plural in Hebrew means three or more. So it says they’re basically in the beginning gods, but actually acting in concert as one, the three members of the God had worked together to create the universe. Then in verse 26 it says, and God said that’s Elohim, but us think men in our image after are like this, it’s plural because the Hebrew is plural, it’s all three members of the God Head were involved in the creation of man.

God the Father, God the Son, the God the Holy Spirit, and yet there’s one God but there are three eternal separate persons within the Godhead. Hope that helps a little bit, John, and thanks for calling in from Paradise, California. We have an anonymous call from Jacksonville, Florida and welcome anonymous from Jacksonville, Florida. Hi. I would like you to read, thank the Gospel of the Ten, verses 27 through 29. I hear you often say that you can be a believer without being a follower.

Now I would just like to tie that in with the script you just read from, thank John, the 15th step and I’ll hang up. All right. Thank you so much. That’s a good question. That’s John, chapter 10. And you’ll find here that Jesus says in verse 27, and that’s the verse I think that you’re referring to in particular, it says here, my sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me. Now if you read the context here, he’s saying that all believers follow him to heaven.

Previously in chapter 8, he says, I am leaving, and where I am going, you cannot come. He says, if you believe not that I am in John 824, he says you shall die in your sins. And he says, where I’m going, you cannot come. So you have to recognize the deity of Christ and trust him as your Savior to be able to go to heaven. In John 14, 6, Christ said, I am the way, the truth of my life, and no man cometh unto the father but by me.

Now when you trust Christ, then of course Christ when he died, came back to the dead, preached for 40 days, showed himself alive for 40 days, and then ascended back to heaven. Jesus said that the believers would follow him into heaven. This is not talking here about the Christian life or following in service or serving Christ. But it is talking about the sheep would follow him where? Into the sheepfold. Christ said in John chapter 9, I am the door.

By me, if any man enter in, he shall be saved. Will you can’t enter into heaven or follow Christ into heaven unless you trust him as your Savior? Now, if you hear his voice and trust him as your Savior, you will follow Christ into the sheepfolder into heaven. And he says, I give unto them verse 28 eternal life, and he shall never perish, And neither shall any plucked them out of my head. So obviously you have to read carefully and separate between salvation, which is what God has done for us and the Christian life which is our response after we get saved.

And we find here that Jesus is talking about salvation and how that if you hear his voice and believe on him you receive eternal life and then you can come where he now is and that’s to heaven. But if you don’t believe, you cannot come. I am the way Jesus said John 14-6, and no man can come, no man can come, under the Father except by me. And Christ now left a good heaven, and he told the unbelievers where I am going, you cannot come.

But to the sheep, to the believers, he says, you will follow me in death to heaven. We are absent from the body present with the Lord second Corinthians five eight at the moment of belief anonymous that was a very good question and thank you for calling in from Jacksonville, Florida we now have anonymous in Fort Bragg North Carolina Good. Good. Welcome to my mind. You’re on the air. Good. The X-2110 talks about Agabus. And he was known as a prophet.

And I was just trying to figure out are there any new testament, or what he considered a true prophet or what that King James Virgin mistake or anything. Well, Mr. Anonymous, the answer. answer is there were prophets for a short period of time but you know by the time the book of Acts ins. It’s alright, we had a temporary interaction. We don’t know what happened there technically, but we’re back on Bibleline Live, and I hope that you’re listening and enjoying, and we’re now going to go to Dan.

Dan is in Hollywood, Florida. Dan, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. well i how you doing sir good that’s fantastic i have a little bit of an awful intelligent which we know he is that he doesn’t want us to read certain which means he knows the whole bible why does he just not give it up ego is that well you know i don’t fully understand the psyche of uh… satan but uh… i had a roommate in college that i can identify with this he was there to party and because he was failing and was going to be kicked out of the University of Florida where I was a student and it happened to be my roommate that semester I was unfortunate enough to have him as a roommate.

He tried to make everybody around him fail as well. He just wouldn’t let you study, he played loud music, I had to always grab all my books in the head of the library and just survive. And he just had this party spirit, of course he didn’t last long and I was praying every day that the Lord would deliver me. But I think Satan is the same way. He wants to take as many people to hell with him as he possibly can.

And that’s kind of his mindset. And I always think about that roommate that he wanted, we had a triple and we had two of us and we were tormented by this guy and we wanted to succeed and he didn’t want us to succeed. He did everything great. Nice and set. I appreciate that Dr. Lindstrom. You have a glorious day. You too. Thanks enough a lot for calling in. And I think some people are like that. That’s kind of like the mentality.

I think of Satan. We have another caller here. Mike is calling in and he’s calling in from St. Petersburg. Mike, welcome to Bibleline. Mike, are you there? Yes, I’m here. You’re on the air. Oh, okay. Dr. Lindstrom. Yes. How you doing, sir? Good. I just want to see if you can now kind of go in a deep bill. So, they’re wired, they’re doing them more detailed or what that means for them. Okay, well, basically in Ephesians chapter 5, it says that Christ loved the church such that he was willing to die and give his life so that we could be saved.

So, here it’s instructing husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church. So, it means to be the head, to be the defender, to be the protector, to be the one who would even give his life in the protection of his wife and caring for her. That’s in Ephesians 5. It’s a wonderful passage there and talks about the comparison between the husband and the wife and Christ and his church. I’ll read the verse for you. It’s in Ephesians 5 and verse 25.

love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it. So there you have it and I hope that answers that question. We have Adrian in Tampa and she leaves this offer question, when I listen to Christian music, how can I tell if it is scriptural, if I don’t know where to look it up and to test it? That becomes a problem and you just You just need to drench yourself in God’s Word every day and as you grow in the Lord and know more of His Word you’ll be able to detect unscriptural music.

There’s a lot of Christian music that is not correct and they’re not inspired and you have to watch out. I know that even in our church hymnal here at the church I pastor here at Calvary Community Church in Tampa, sometimes the lyrics are not scriptural. what we do if we want to sing that hymn is I rewrite the lines to make them scriptural. We actually paste the new words right in our hymnal to override. One of the hymns I love is victory in Jesus.

One of the lines is wrong. It says, I repented of my sins and won the victory. Well, that’s a phrase that’s not even in the Bible. You don’t win the victory by repenting of your sins. You win the victory by trusting Christ. So we rewrote the line, I trusted in the Savior’s blood and won the victory. And we’ve actually put that in the hymnal so that when we sing victory in Jesus, which is a hymn I love, we sing, I trusted in the Savior’s blood and won the victory.

We got rid of the bad phrase, repented of sin. You see, the Greek word for repent is meta noia. Meta means change, noia means mine, and to be saved you have to change your mind about how to be saved and who Jesus is to recognize that he is God who came and took on human flesh and that he and he alone can save you. It was by his death and shed blood alone that you’re saved when you simply trust in the Savior’s blood.

you win the victory and we try to make that point clear. That’s just one example because I just go into orbit when I sing a hymn and the lines are unscriptural. That drives me nuts. We either don’t sing it or we rewrite it because we don’t want to sing things that are unscriptural. Adrian, that’s a great question and I hope that you’ll just be very alert that you don’t buy music when you hear it, that is that you buy into whatever it’s saying and don’t ask yourself is it really true or not because a lot of hymns have mistakes in them and they’re not accurate.

We have Armando in St. Petersburg and Armando welcome to Bible and you’re on there. Good morning Dr. Lindstrom. Good morning. On John 14 verse 18, you were talking about the Holy Spirit and when I read that, it seems to me like Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit, he is talking about himself coming back. Can you explain that, please? Well, you’re absolutely right. He’s talking about how that if he was in his human body as the second person of the Godhead, then he can only be in one place at one time.

But as the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit, he could come and dwell in every believer, which is what happens. Our bodies become his temple and he dwells in every one of us. Obviously, our bodies become the temple of God, 1 Corinthians 619, and also become the temple of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 3 16. The Bible also says that Christ dwells on us, Colossians 128. So you really have all three members of the Godhead dwelling in us.

You have God the Father, you have God the Son, and you have God the Holy Spirit. So we have all three members of the Godhead dwelling in us. I hope that helps a little bit, and we thank you for that call, Armando. But there is no doubt, as it says in Matthew 28, 1920, that they were to go and baptize all nations in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. There are three distinct members of the Godhead.

I know the cults deny that. The Jones witnesses, the Seventh-Ed Venice, and the Mormons and all the others deny the deity of the three members of the Godhead, but all three are the one and same God. Okay, Joanne in Utica, New York says the MacArthur Study Bible says King Solomon was lost to Christ. Then he turned his back on God before he died. Well, John MacArthur is wrong. And this is the craziness that’s out there. That makes salvation by works, and Solomon certainly was saved and never lost his salvation, but to say that he therefore was lost to Christ because he turned his back on God before he died is works for salvation.

And this is all a part of being a five-point Calvinist, as John MacArthur is. The fifth point says you have to persevere to the end of your life to be saved. That’s works. The Bible doesn’t teach that. I’m eternally saved because Christ perseveres, not because I persevere. I’m saved eternally because of what Christ did for me and the fact that He perseveres forever. His promises will be made good and I can be assured of going to heaven. He will never cast me out as He said in John 637.

He’ll never lose me as he said in John 639, but MacArthur obviously teaches that you can lose it at the end. You can go to hell even though you’ve lived a Christian life all over your life at the end. If you change your direction of life, you can be lost to Christ and turn your back on God and be lost. That is false teaching. I believe that’s wrong. I know I’ll get a lot of response from that statement that I just made, but I’m sorry.

what the Bible teaches and that statement is incorrect. We are at the end of the program. We’ve got to run, but again pray for Bibleline and I hope that you’ll pray for us and support us if you can give a gift today. It’ll help us call at 1-800 and give that over the phone by credit card. God bless and have a great day. We’ll be back tomorrow. Join our Peter class tonight if you’re in the area. Drive out meetings.

When something happens on a live program, that’s just the way it happens. Pray for us. We also need your financial help. We are listeners supported. We have a particular need of about 20,000 this week to make sure that we don’t lose any of the stations that we’re on.

If you could help us, any gift would be helpful if you can give just $1.00. If you can give a more substantial gift, that would be great. and whatever you can do, please consider us. Maybe you can give a gift of 50 or 100, or maybe some could give a gift of 500 or 1,000, but we can really use your help to raise about 20,000 before the week is out. Need your help, Dad? And we pray that you will help us at this time of a great need.
