We appreciate you and all of our listeners and look forward to being with you every day, Monday through Friday as we come to you live from our studios right here in Tampa at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor.

And by the way, yesterday we had our worship service on the internet and we do that every Sunday and you can click on the camera on the home page and get our website on the home page of the website. You’ll get our worship services if you click on the camera and you can do that live on Sunday by going there 11 o’clock in the morning and when the message begins the video and the audio will come up and you can watch that.
Tomorrow Night is Tuesday night and we’re going to finish 2nd Peter. If you’re in driving distance, you’re welcome to come and sit in on this class. We’re doing class 9 and 10 of a 10-hour series and it’s a great series. I’ll tell you, Peter, although the placement of the books in the New Testament is not inspired, it seems like God had his hand in it in placing 1st and 2nd Peter right at the end before the book of Revelation because it is truly a wonderful help to us in the end times as Peter talks about what we could expect and how to meet that challenge and be able to be strong in the days when there would be the apostasy and denial of the Scriptures were living in that day.
By the way, all liberal theologians do not like second Peter especially. They would like to just rip it out of the Bible and get rid of it. Why hit a chance of light on Satan? You will want to get this series when we get done after tomorrow night. You’ll be able to order the 10 hours on CD or DVD. If you’re driving distance, you’re welcome to come and actually sit in the class. Be my guest for the last two class hours.
We are excited about meeting you. If you ever get a chance to come by, we have a guest right now in the studio from Fort Byers, who’s up here sitting in as we do the broadcast. You’re welcome to come by and visit our resource center every day open until 4.30 in the afternoon and you’re welcome to visit our worship services as well. The third Sunday of this coming month of May, May 18th will have a dinner right after the morning worship.
You’re welcome to come to the 10.30 service, stay for the dinner and enjoy the food and the fellowship and the Bible teaching here at Calvary. But we’re going to have a baptism that afternoon at 3. If you’ve not been water baptized since you have been saved, we would be glad and be delighted to baptize you. So, if you don’t have a church home, you don’t have a church that would baptize you. We believe that it should be by immersion.
There are many churches who don’t immerse and we will immerse you. We usually go to a small lake just north of the church. A church member has a home on that lake. It’s a beautiful setting under the shade trees and the lake. The grass goes right down on the water’s edge and you walk in on a sandy bottom and we’ve baptized a lot of people. And it’ll be a beautiful event and we’d love to be a part of that with you as you give testimony to your faith in Jesus Christ and how you are cleansed not by water but by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 1-5 says unto him that love this and wash this from our sins in his own blood. So we have testimony to that by going into water. The water doesn’t save. If you were never water baptized, you’d still go to heaven. But you know, it’s something that Christ has asked us to do, and there’s always a blessing whenever we’re obedient to one of the commands of Christ. And this is one that He’s asked us to do, a way of publicly declaring that we have been cleansed of our sin by the blood of Jesus Christ.
So that’s coming up the third Sunday in May 18. And you’re always welcome to come by on any Sunday your Wednesday and join us and it’s going to be exciting. If you have a teenager, we’re going to have a summer camp in the heart of… Florida on the week of June 23-28 and if you’d like to send your teenagers I know they’ll have a great week of good Bible teaching and they’ll come away. I’m sure changed and affected by the word of God.
We’re gonna go to the Bible for a few minutes and then we’ll take our calls. The phone number if you want to write that down to call in is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3-771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. So, chop that down, give us a call, and people are already calling in to get up online, and we’d like to have you get up online with us as well. You know, Jesus Christ, when he was crucified, was then buried for 72 hours, and then he rose again from the dead.
And then the Bible tells us that he showed himself alive for 40 days, for 40 days. And people saw him, they touched him, they handled him, they knew that he had risen from the dead. And this obviously is what transformed the apostles into the dynamic witnesses that he became as they took the gospel everywhere in the world at that time. Paul, as he witnessed, told the story of the death, the burial, the resurrection from the Old Testament because the New Testament was not yet written.
If you turn in your Bibles to Acts 17, you find how Paul would normally operate. It says in verse 1 of Acts 17, when they were passed through Epiphylus and Epilonia, they came to Thessalonica where was a synagogue of the Jews. And Paul, verse 2 of Acts 17, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the Scriptures. Verse 3, opening and alleging that Christ must needs have suffered and risen again from the dead and that this Jesus whom I preach unto you is Christ.
What a great passage. The scriptures that Paul opened up here to these people in Thessalon-Nikah was the Old Testament scriptures. And notice what it says that he594 did. He reasoned with them out of the scriptures. That’s the Old Testament. At this time the New Testament was not yet written, Acts 17, verse 2. In this verse 3, opening and alleging that Christ must needs have suffered and risen again from the dead. And that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
And you’ll notice verse 4. And some of them believe. Some of them believe. Not everybody pulled out too trust of the Lord, but some of them did. And you know that’s an encouragement for all of us who attempt to witness to others, to our family and to loved ones. Don’t give up. But Paul here preached that Christ was the Messiah, that the Old Testament Scriptures had foretold that he would suffer and die and then be risen again from the dead, and that this Jesus was indeed the Savior, the Messiah that the prophets had told would come, and some of them believed.
Then we find in verse 5 it talks about another group but the Jews which believed not moved with envy took under them certain people of the basis sort and they really caused a riot here in Thessalonica. Well you know what is interesting is that there are two groups mentioned here and you see it throughout the Bible. There are those that believe and there are those that believe not. There are those that believe and there are those that believe not.
All believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and by the way the word believe really they The best English word means to trust. T-R-U-S-T-Trust. When you trust that Christ died on the cross for you and shed his blood to pay for your sins, and you trust him as your only means of reaching heaven, God saves you. And then there are those who do not believe and every unbeliever will wind up according to the Bible in hell and there is no other place to go.
You either go to heaven or you go to hell It is all determined by what you believe. And notice here Paul came and brought the Gospel to the Hestelneichem and some believed, but then no one was believed not. And the ones that believed not opposed the Gospel and created a riot there in the Hestelneichem as they stirred up the people. You know, it’s throughout the Bible that you have these two different groups. In the Old Testament you’ll find many times it talks about the righteous which are the believers because nobody is righteous of his own works.
Every one of us are standing before God in our own works if we are without Christ. And the Bible says that our best works and righteous deeds are filthy rags in God’s sight. And so the unbeliever is described in the Bible as being the wicked. Even though they might be very moral, they might be your best neighbor, they might go to church, they might care in their Bible. But if they haven’t trusted Christ, the Bible says they are wicked.
It says here in Malachi in chapter 3 in verse 18, a very interesting verse. It talks about the Jewish people, then shall you return and discern. The discern, most people can’t do this, and discern between the righteous and the wicked. Now the righteous are the believers and the wicked are the unbelievers and sometimes it’s difficult to tell which is which. But to note, the only real sure way of telling between the believer and the unbeliever, the righteous and the wicked is to ask them, what are you trusting in to get you to heaven?
And if they’re trusting in their works, keeping the commandments, living the Christian life, water baptism, church membership, the mass penance, prayers, whatever they might be trusting in, then they’re not saved. Because salvation is not by works. It’s by trusting in what Jesus accomplished for us at the cross. It’s not based upon what we do for God or what works we accomplish. It’s all based upon the finished work at the cross of Calvary that paid for the sins of the whole world.
And when you trust Christ, you become righteous in God’s sight as God’s righteousness is imputed or credited to your account. And if you are an unbeliever, then you are remaining wicked or unrighteous and you will not enter heaven based upon the fact you have not trusted Christ. So here Paul, notice, opens up the Scriptures and reasons with these people out of the Bible opening and alleging that Christ must needs have suffered and risen again from the dead and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
Paul always gave the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Christ. Modern day preaching is so sloppy you seldom hear it. You have people bypassed across all together and just say invite Christ into your heart or give your life to Christ. And all these phrases are wrong because they bypassed across plus that’s not the legitimate way to become saved. To become saved you must T T R U S T trust that Christ died and pay for your sins by his death and shed blood and was buried in rose again from the bed unless you trust him.
You know I went to church for the first 18 years of my life. I was confirmed. I was baptized. I was homogenized. Pastrized, capsized, Simonized. You name it. I went through it. I was not saved. When I was 18 thanks to my sister she invited me to a Bible study in our neighborhood and I heard for the first time I had the TRUST trust in Christ as the one who died and paid for my sins by his death and shed blood with buried and resugened from the dead.
That night for the first time I understood John 3 16. Up until that time I knew probably two verses that I could quote. I was in church every Sunday, but I never was saved and I never heard how to be saved in my church. And I can quote John 3 16 for God’s love in the world and he gave his own to be young son that his who ever believed within him should not perish but have everlasting life. And then I had one on the verse so I could quote two verses.
I could quote John 11 35. Do you know what it is? Jesus wept. That was a tough one. But you know, I understood Jesus wept but I didn’t understand John 3 16 until that night. I didn’t understand that God so loved the world that meant me. That he gave his own to be gotten son that was Jesus Christ. That who so ever that meant me that if I would believe, if I would trust in Christ, that I would not perish because he perished in my place, but I would have everlasting life.
And all of a sudden like the light came on I said I see it, I understand it. And then I trusted Christ as my Savior. And that night upon trusting Christ I received everlasting life. It says right there in John 3 16 that you would not perish, but you would have. H-A-V-E, present tense verb, you would have everlasting life. And that means present tense. You possess right now at the moment of belief everlasting life. I received it. I have been saved ever since.
And I’ll be saved forever. Christ promises you’ll never cast you out and never lose you. You are saved forever once you trust Christ. Isn’t that great news? Well, that’s what happened. That’s what the Bible’s all about. That’s what the apostle Paul and the other apostles preached. They preached Christ, His death, His burial, His resurrection. Peter. The apostle never opened his mouth if he didn’t talk about the death and the burial and resurrection. Paul opened his mouth. He preached about the death, the burial and the resurrection.
Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15 that the gospel message that he had received from the Lord was that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day. It’s everywhere. It’s everywhere. 1 Corinthians 15 verses 3 and 4. Christ died for our sins. According to the scriptures, that was buried and rose again the third day. That’s the message that saves. You must believe that Christ died for you and shed his blood to pay for your sin, death and full was buried and rose again from the dead when you trust him.
As your only means of salvation, God saves you. I’m Dr. Engleman, this is the Bible. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We have lots of callers waiting and we’re going to go right now to George and Palm Harbor and George, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. good morning you know if i run into mention your system i don’t know if you came down for a visit in pomber and you can’t watch their cat well don’t tell me it is a small world uh…
actually called is a habit gentlemen uh… that have the problem with you saying that car uh… john macarthy uh… carter carter is a legalist he did and he did mention that david jara mia He wrote a great book and if you could elaborate a little more on why he’s going to listen, why you think he’s illegalist. And also one other question, and I will listen off the phone, is as far as the rapture, somebody’s hanging their hat on 2nd Cestyloneans chapter 2.
Refuse the rapture. all not at all it says support them okay we’ll talk about that okay i i’ll listen but mccarthur was probably the most important but uh… yet he would kind of indicated by uh… german so that was what it was okay all right well anyway john mccarthur is a five point calvines and if you heard a series that he taught last year on radio he tells you that uh… god uh… unconditionally select you but the fifth point of calvino calvino is in this where The Calvinists all seem to bring works in through the back door.
They say you must persevere. That is called a persevere into the saints. And if you are truly saved, they say you will persevere and live the Christian out, life out to your very last day on the planet. And you’ll continually gain new strides and there’ll be continual changes in a positive way in your Christian life. Or you haven’t been chosen, you’re not one of the chosen at all. So basically in John MacArthur’s book, Hard to Believe, which I really think it’s hard to believe what he wrote in that book, but John MacArthur says that you could live your Christian life up until the last two weeks and then turn away from the Lord and then you wouldn’t be saved because you were not chosen because you didn’t persevere to the end.
So it basically works. It’s all about works. His main passage he likes to use is Matthew chapter 19 where the rich young man comes to Christ and says, what good thing must I do that I may inherit eternal life? Totally messes up there. It doesn’t understand what the passage is talking about. He doesn’t tell the man to work his way to heaven. He tells him that he cannot work his way to heaven. It’s impossible. And even Christ makes that statement plain.
With men, this is impossible. With God it’s possible for you to become as righteous as God or Christ. So with minutes impossible and only those who follow Christ in the new birth in Matthew 19 it says will have or inherit eternal life. So eternal life is a gift. It’s received by faith but John makes something else totally out of Matthew 19 and makes up the building stone for all of his doctrine about you must have works to be saved.
So anyway, it’s kind of like speaking on two sides of your mouth. The Calvinists will say on one hand that works have nothing to do with your salvation, God elects you. But on the other hand, when they come to the fifth point of Calvinism, they will come back around and say that unless you have works, you weren’t chosen. So they’ll say, and this is a subtlety, people will say that are Calvinists generally, do you have saving faith? And people who hadn’t even considered that say, well, I have faith in Christ, but what What do you mean by saving faith?
Well, they’ll say saving faith is a working faith. Unless you’re doing works, you’ll not be saved because you don’t have saving faith. And that’s a lot of nonsense. When you trust Christ as Savior, you’re saved apart from works forever and ever and ever and ever. As far as the rapture being refuted by 2nd best of all, that’s craziness. Verse 3 is talking about the rapture. It’ll be the part you’re… The Greek word means a departure there. If it’s a departure from doctrine, then it would be apostasy.
And many teach that this is an apostasy that will happen. Of course, there will be apostasy in the last days. But it’s talking about the departure there of the Holy Spirit. If you read the following verses, it talks about the one who is restraining evil in this world today. The Holy Spirit will be taken out. And he is the one that is departing. And when the Holy Spirit goes, we go because he involves us permanently. So it says, when that happens, then the Antichrist will be revealed, who’s not revealed until after the Rapture, but then in verse 8 we see the second coming where Christ comes back and actually destroys this wicked one, this Antichrist who will be revealed.
The one is described there in verse 3 as the son of predition and the one who is the evil or wicked one. Hope that helps a little bit. Now we’re going to go to Esther in DeBary, Florida. And Esther, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the earth. My really enjoy your ministry. I have a question. I was at my job. And I ran into a Jehovah Witness. And he just told me that the Jehovah Bible was written by non-religious Hebrew and Greek scholars.
And he said that it was the most post-actrict Bible. I was wondering what your comment on that was. and also have another little question already in the commentary bible work that even the devil and the devil and his demons believe well-being of the old bill of those things first of all okay i’ll go ahead and hang up and then listen to your comment okay ester over there on the east coast of florida and the very florida and uh… ester of the jose witnesses bible they call it the emphatic diagram is actually a deliberate attempt on the part of the witnesses to change doctrines and twist the Bible and it’s not very accurate at all.
And what is so interesting is they continually change it. I have a copy here, not too many feet away from my hand, of the emphatic dialogue copyrighted back in 1942. Guess what? The one that they will show you today is not the same. Ha ha ha ha ha. So if it’s so accurate and so trustworthy. Why have they changed it secretly so that you don’t even know about it? I like to collect old witnesses books and I have got a lot of them way back and they have changed so many doctrines since them because they find themselves in a quandary when they get statements out there that are wrong and they have to change the Bible and they have to change their kingdom hall books in order to conform to the changes of where they have found themselves to be in error and found themselves
to be wrong. And they didn’t deny that they even do this. So it is really a crazy world. The Jehovah’s Witnesses are lost without Christ and that’s exactly where they are. And the Bible says that in Philippians chapter 2 that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Jehovah or Yahweh. And unless they change their mind and trust Christ now, they will eventually inhale that they don’t believe in, go bow their knee and confess that Jesus Christ is Jehovah or Yahweh.
And obviously they need to do it now so that they don’t wind up in hell. But that is certainly a sad, sad thing that the witnesses don’t get that right. Let me just take a minute to say goodbye to Miami. Miami we’re so glad to be on the air down there and it’s exciting to be able to bring the program to you. We certainly need your financial help to be able to keep this program going down there and also to be able to get that second half hour whenever that opens up if it does.
Tracker- We’d like to be on the full hour down there and then as some people in Miami say, whoa, you just get going and then all of a sudden you’re gone. So keep listening and pray for us here at Bibleline. All right, we’re back now to our other callers and we have had Esther here calls from Deberry, Florida and we’re excited about the fact that you can call us from from wherever you might be. And our 800 number works across the country.
And you can dial us at 1-800-576-3771. And we’ll be able to take your call and hopefully answer your question. We’re looking forward to going to Israel again. And we hope that you’ll be on board with us. And we would like to leave. It looks like next February, 2009. And we’ll have brochures coming up and We’ll have some more concrete information for you, but we’d like to get you on the list so we can be able to keep you in contact with us and get your brochure as soon as we get them here at our Bibleline headquarters.
We had a wonderful trip this year and we didn’t even hear a car backfire who had such a peaceful time. Now who knows the Lord might come this year before we ever get a chance next year, but we’re planning as though he were not coming this year so that we can make plans. plans, but I think it would be far greater for us to meet the Lord in the air, wouldn’t it? So we could, and we might be caught out, but we’re planning to go.
If the Lord doesn’t come this year, that we will be back in Israel as coming spring, and it’ll be a beautiful time of year to go. We’d love to have you do that. Well, we’re going to take a break here. We’ll come back and do a second half hour Bible. And we’d love to have you stay with us for the second half hour. You can catch us on the internet for the full hour and go back in here again and again and again as often as you like.
Later after the program was over you can go back to it and you can also of course listen on your radio. We’re going to take a short break. We’ll come back and do a second half hour. So keep your radio down to right where it is right here now to Bibleline. I’m Dr. Hank Hundstrom and we’re having fun and we’re enjoying talking to you. So call us at 1-800-576-3771. We’ll be right back. After this break, the way Bibleline will be back in a moment.
Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englund, sermonist. Great to be with you. Thanks for tuning in to the Bible and broadcast, and we look forward to being with you every day. You ever get a chance, come by and see us when you come to Tampa, or if you live in the area, you’re welcome to do that. We’re about ready to finish up our series on 2nd Peter and we’ll do class 9 and 10 tomorrow night and then the whole series will be available.
So you can call in and one of the series on CD or DVD and we’ll start production and get them all ready to go on Wednesday of this week. But tomorrow night will be the last and final classes and if you’re in the area, you’re welcome to come out and sit in and be my guest for the 2nd Peter classes. We’re going to finish first Peter and before that we did the Gospel of John and we’ve got about 40 different series that are available on DVD or CD and I think you’ll enjoy them all.
We are really excited about the fact that we have our worship services on the Internet available for you to watch. You can go and click on the camera on the homepage of our website BibleLineMinistries.org And you’ll get the archives and you’ll get this past Sunday’s message that yesterday and all of the messages from the past year. And you can watch them and hear them wherever you might be on the planet Earth. When I was in Jerusalem just two months ago, I was able to pull up my own worship service in Jerusalem and watch it.
And it was just fascinating to be on the other side of the world and just go to my website and be able to pull it up just like anybody else would. And that’s truly exciting. And a year ago, when we were in Israel, we met a wonderful group of Nigerians that were Christian. I invited them to the hotel to my Bible study that evening in Israel. And about 40 of them came and one of them stood up and said, he listened to Bible and radio in Nigeria.
And I thought, isn’t that incredible? Wow. Here I traveled from the US to Jerusalem. And here they traveled from Nigeria to Israel, and we are matching up here. Those that were listing the Bible and from Nigeria, we’ve got to meet them right there in Israel. Exciting stuff is happening, and we’re looking forward now to broadcasting our TV programs into Turkey. We’re on the way to have that happen, and pray for that as it will go by satellite over, not just Turkey, but other Middle Eastern countries, that primarily Turkey is the country that will be targeted to going to translate my programs into Turkey and will be sending them down off the satellite over that area.
Well, we’re going to go back and rejoin the stations that have been on break into a second half hour Bibleline and we want you to stay tuned. Don’t go away. And we’ll do the second half hour right now. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we are back in that break. And this is Bibleline and I’m Dr.
Lindstrom and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. We’re on the pasture. We look forward to being with you every day. And thanks for tuning in. We meet so many wonderful people on the worship services. When people come, we had guest yesterday from Ghana, Africa, from San Diego, California, from Fort Myers, Florida, from over in Lakeland, Florida, from Dunedin, Florida, from Northport, and Bradenton and Sarasota. and people are coming in from all over to visit with us, and we’re excited about getting to meet our listeners in the area that some of them drive quite a distance to come and see us.
And obviously, the furthest away yesterday were people from Ghana, Africa. That’s in the Ivory Coast of Africa on the West Side. And we’re excited about reaching all over Africa with Bibleline, and pray with us that we might just the Lord continue to bless in that way. We need your support. We are listeners supported. So if you’re a listener and you enjoy the program, would you help us? You know, all the times people don’t realize the privilege believers have because we will, I believe, share where we are giving our money to support that ministry.
You know, Paul said in Philippians 4 17, not that I desire a gift as he He wrote to the Philippian believers about giving. He says, not that I desire a gift, but that fruit may have bound to your account. When I saw that verse, it just changed my whole opinion about giving. I said, wow, I would love to have been alive in the days of Paul and give to his ministry and to have whatever fruit that Paul bore, counting for me on my account in heaven.
Think about that. Boy, this guy was racking up. Paul was really turning up the soil and leading people to Christ everywhere. And if you’d only given to his ministry, look at the reward you would have had in heaven, you’d share with Paul and have the same rewards he would. And so I believe because Bible and is doing something for God, people are getting saved, people are being challenged, people are going into ministry, people are witnessing and reaching and your family members.
And we hear the stories all the time that definitely whatever fruit this program is bearing will count for you in heaven as you invested it. Would you consider giving a gift today to Bibleline? You can call and give it my credit card over the phone or you can call and ask for an envelope to be sent. And we’ll mail those envelopes. You can mail a gift back in by check to Bibleline. And we don’t pay any salary. So we are probably one of the most efficient ministries out there because we have an all volunteer staff for the radio.
We feel it’s that important and that we do it so that we can go as far as we can with the funds that God provides for us. Well back to Esther who called in just before the end of the first half hour. She would ask and also what about that verse in James where it says the demons also believe and tremble. What is talking about is that they believe that the day of judgment is coming when they They will be cast into hell and they are going to be rewarded according to their works.
Did you know that we as believers are going to be part of judging those demons? They are scared to death because we are going to be there as a part of that judgment where there will be a sign, a degree of punishment they are going to receive in hell and they definitely believe that that is coming and they are going to be in trouble big time and suffer for all eternity and eternal like a fire. is saying we ought to be smarter as believers and know that we’re going to give an account one day for what we have done since we have been saved and if you want to have any rewards and not experience embarrassment, loss of reward, regret, sorrow, tears, all the things that will accompany a believer who doesn’t respect the fact that there’s going to be a day of accountability where the believer will stand before the ward at the
Judge Museum of Christ and our works will be examined to determine the degree of reward or loss of reward in heaven. So that’s what it’s talking about, not that demons can be saved, but they have a second chance or are trusting Christ as their Savior. It simply means that they do believe that there is a future judgment coming from them, and we know that it’s called the Great White Throne Judgment. First Corinthians chapter 6 says we’re going to be there as a part of that group that will judge those angels and help to sign the degrees of punishment to them.
They are fearful and frightened of that day. Obviously they know it’s coming. Why aren’t believers smart like demons to know that there’s a day when we’re going to give an account? and we won’t go to hell and suffer hellfire, but we will experience loss of reward forever if we don’t serve the Lord as a believer. So as believers we need to get involved in the liver Christ every day. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We have Maggie in Hopewell, Virginia and Maggie, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Yeah, just Maggie. Thomas calling. Yes, ma’am. I was calling to the ceremony of the age of the Sucka chapter and the eighth verse. This lady used to tell me that she’s just singing the choir and she used to ask you and all the things she did. But I told her to read Sucka and come live in the Sucka and Chapter for about grace or years saved through faith. And then not of yourself, it is the gift of God. Did I tell her right?
You sure did. God bless you. That is right on. And all the wonderful things that that lady did would not get her one inch closer to heaven. She can only be saved by God’s grace or mercy or an American favor by simply trusting in what Christ did for her. Yeah. And I kept telling her, but she would always tell me, well, I saw me in the choir I did this and I was just never even paying no mind. She said, well, you just keep at her and I don’t know that it doesn’t matter what she thinks.
It matters what God thinks. And God says that whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish. How do you listen to the radio? You know, yeah, okay. Get it on this is the Bible and to. Yeah. Do you have anything on the watch, Tybeth? I heard you talking about that. And I have a lot of people who were John Whittle, but I know a couple of stuffs of them, John and me. We have a wonderful book here called Handbook of Personal Evangelism, and that book tells you how to witness to other people and as a whole chapter on how to witness to Joe’s And I think it’s $14.
Okay. Well, I’m going to give you my address. You can send me a card. I’ll send out that. Okay. Can you hold on right now? I’m going to turn you back over to my operators and they will take that address from you. Okay. Thank you Maggie. That was Maggie in Hopewell, Virginia. We’re not going to go to Orlando and he lives in Orange City, Florida. You’re on the board. Orlando, you’re on your own. Hi. Good morning.
God bless you, bro. Don Bachel, he’s one of the speakers on that. Yes, I do. Hi. And he was talking about Matthew 1028 about, you know, he was, because I know that the advances believe that for everybody in hell and that there would be no more memory of them. And he said that fear those that are and the soul, he said they will be destroyed. They just don’t live anymore. So, uh, actually, it’s not right. The word destroyed really is from the Greek word apolumae and it means to lose or to be lost or separated.
The lost will be separated from God in hell forever and ever and ever. And obviously the many, many verses in the Bible really point that out. It says that they are really appointed to the midst of darkness forever, that they’ll be cast into the lake of fire where there will be a day and night forever and ever. In the Revelation chapter 14 it talks about the lost experiencing no rest, day nor night, forever and ever. Obviously everywhere you look The word eternal is connected with hell.
The same word eternal that is included in eternal life. So if hell is not eternal then there is no such thing as eternal life. If hell is not eternal then God is not eternal because it talks about God being the eternal God. It talks about the Holy Spirit being the eternal spirit. It’s the same word eternal that’s applied to hell. So nothing’s eternal if hell is in eternal accord of the Bible because the same words are used and obviously the seven days of the day.
They believe in soul sleep, they believe in works for salvation, they believe if you worship on Sunday that you have the mark of the beast and if you worship on Saturday you have the mark of the living God. They believe in so many false things. They’ll never get straight till they just take all the books by L.N.G. White and Burnham because they read the Bible through the lenses of L.N.G. White and until they just toss their books out, they’ll never come clean on all the false doctrines that they believe because they’re all in the writings of LNG White.
And so they accept those above the scriptures. And there is no book above the scriptures. The Word of God, the Bible says, is God’s Word and there’s nothing higher in authority than God’s Word. Everything in this book is going to happen and come to pass as God said. And the Bible says the Word of God liveth in the Bites forever and ever and ever and ever. So, obviously, the rise of LNG might not be around forever, but as long as they are still around, seven to eight minutes you are not going to get it right.
Orlando, thank you for that call. We appreciate that. And we are looking forward to talking to you this morning. you’ll call us. The number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s a wonderful opportunity if you have a question to get an answer because one lady called here and she asked her question to her pastor and he said, submit it in writing and give me eight weeks. She said, I didn’t have eight weeks. She said, I needed an answer right now. She called Bible and again, they that very day.
Well that’s what Bible ends all about. We’ll try our very best to give you the answer right from the Bible whenever you have a question. Well Larry in Manson, Michigan calls in and leaves us off here a question. How do you explain the hell is an eternal and a place of torment, a place of torment and fire? Well I don’t know if explain it, but that’s what the Bible teaches and I believe it. And we find that it’s a place where Christ says in Mark chapter 9, three times, he says, the soul will never die and the fire will never be quenched.
Wow. He says, hell is a place where the soul will never die and the fire will never be quenched. The fire will burn forever. There he also says, Would you please explain the word perish? Well, the word perish speaks of death, and the Bible talks about the wages of sin is death, and so it’s twofold. When you and I are without Christ, we’ll experience two deaths, physical death, and that is the separation of your soul from your body, and then the second death, which is the separation of your soul from God in hell forever and ever and ever.
But if you become born again, if you become a believer, you only die once. The second death, the Bible says, has no power on those that are safe. And so you will not experience the second death. And maybe if you’re living at the time of the Rapture, which is a good chance that we will be, you may not even die once. The Bible talks about a group exempted from death. Those that are living at the time of the Rapture will be caught up and transformed into their new bodies on the way up.
We have Tina in Clearwater Florida and Tina, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. Yes, hi. This is Tina and I have a question. Last week I heard you say something about the NIV Bible is related to the Jehovah Witness Bible. They’re the same. They’re almost identical. If you look at the Jehovah’s Witness Bible, the New World Translation and you look at the NIV, the new internationalPublisher, even the titles are about the same. New and new, same.
And then world and international, same. And then version or translation, same. So the titles are even the same. But you know, the NIV drops 44 verses in their entirety. And guess what? The Jehovah’s Witness Bible drops the same 44 verses in their entirety. You think they got together? Kind of interesting. try to attack the doctrine of hell and the witnesses of course deny hell.
They try hard in their new world translation to get rid of hell. Guess what? Same thing happens in the NIV. They try to do away with the doctrine of hell. We have a quiz here that will send you a free charge and it has questions that are on the 44 verses that are dropped. So if someone takes their NIV Bible and tries to take that quiz, they’ll get a zero. And boy, is that a wake up? That is a wake up.
If you’ll just call back and ask for that. NIV quiz to be sent to you will send you some and you can have fun with your friends and have the NIV because they’re going to get a zero. It will be a wake up like, whoa, these verses aren’t even in my Bible. Well, that’s the Bible. The NIV is what my idiot rock back to church uses. Well, the pastor needs to know that he’s got a bad Bible that he’s using.
We have a book here called New Age Bible Versions that really does an in-depth study. He has about 800 pages and shows you what’s going on with these new translations. The NIV is one of the worst. One of the worst. Wow. I can get it and you said I can order that quiz. Yeah. And if you know what the book is also you may want to buy the book for your pastor and say and just maybe outline the chapters that deal with the NIV and say please read this and maybe reconsider.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah, I will because I’ve just been baptized in the church and I just like love the church I mean, just meets the Bible and explains it, but I heard you make the comment about the Jehovah Witnesses is the same as the NIV. That’s a shocker, isn’t it? Yes, it is a shocker. Something that I can show my pastor. There you go. We have it for you. Okay. Thank you so much. I’ll stand the line and give you my address.
Okay. Thank you, Tina. Thank you. And Tina will put you on hold and our prayers will pick you up over there. We’re now going to go to Matthew in Spring Hill. Welcome to Bibleline your own near good morning pastor. I’m wondering in the parable of the virgin who do the foolish versions represent Unsaved verse 12 makes it very clear Matthew 25 12 says I know you not now When you become a believer Christ knows every believer that belongs to him First Timothy 219 says the foundation of the Lord Stan is sure having this foundation that the Lord knows those that are his and He says to these foolish versions, I know you not, which means they were not saved, never saved, didn’t lose their salvation.
He says, I simply don’t know you. You’re not one of mine. He knows those that are his. If you trust in Christ, he knows who you are and you’re his forever. Amen. And now as you talked about the importance of talking about the importance of knowing your saved. Absolutely. Yeah. All right. I sure will, Matthew. It’s so important to know because if you don’t have assurance, then you’re dead in the water. What kind of witness will you be for Christ if you don’t have a clue as to where you’re going to go when you die?
Would you go up to somebody’s loss and say, hey, how would you like to be as confused as I am? I have no clue where I’m going when I die and I’m just absolutely totally messed up and my brain is scrambled. Wouldn’t you like to become like me? You have no witness. You have nothing to say. What would you say to somebody who’s lost? You’ve got to be able to say, I know. I love that hymn, don’t you? Blessed assurance.
Jesus is mine. Oh, what a protest, a taste of glory divine. As a believer, we can be assured of that salvation that we have and know it. And it’s that kind of confidence that makes a bold, effective witness for Jesus Christ. If you don’t have any assurance, I guarantee you, you’re not witnessing. You’re not a witness. You’re not the ambassador that God wants you to be as a Christian unless you’re assured. I remember years ago as a brand new believer, I read the book by Harry Ironsides, Full Assurance.
It was published by Moody at that time. I don’t even think it’s available anymore, but what a great book. And that phrase comes right out of the book of Hebrews and how important it was, he pointed out, to be a fully assured of your salvation, to know that you know that you’re saved. And 1 John 5, 13 says, I’ve written this to you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life and how great that is to be able to have that assurance when you go to bed at night to know that if you should die in the night you’ve got to be with the Lord before the sun would come up.
We’re going to now go to Tom in Lakeland, Florida and Tom, welcome to Bible India on the air. Hi, Pastor. I had a question. I watched a DVD the other day where the man was claiming that it’s pretty much using the Old Testament that when you’re dead you’re in the grave and you never come up till Christ returns. But the pastors are always saying absent from the body present with the Lord. So is there a difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament the way they saw it in the Old Testament like in Job and David in the Psalms and stuff and in the New Testament idea.
Well, the whole point is that the absolute body of the present with the Lord, but the body is spoken of as sleeping in the grave until the resurrection. So if I were to die today, and let’s say the rapture were tomorrow, I’d be in heaven one day present with the Lord, but I would still be absent my body until the Lord returns at the rapture if that were to happen tomorrow and get my new body tomorrow. But I would lose this body today.
So some people have been dead now for hundreds of years and they’re present with the Lord, but they don’t get their new body until the Lord returns. Or even the Old Testament saints, they’re with the Lord and they don’t have their new bodies either. In fact, we get our bodies, the those same between Pentecost and the Rapture, the church age will get their bodies seven years earlier than the Old Testament saints, because we get ours at the Rapture, at seven years later at the end of the tribulation period is when Christ gives the Old Testament saints their bodies.
So I’m going to get my resurrection body seven years ahead of Noah, seven years ahead of Jeremiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, the prophet David and all the others. So I get my body early. So your soul, your soul is there in heaven, that’s not with the body, present with the Lord, but your body is not going to make it till Christ returns. That’s right. That’s when the resurrection is in, he doesn’t give out the body so that time of the resurrection.
Thank you, Pastor. You’re very welcome and thank you for the call. Tom in Lakeland, Florida listening in and calling in and it’s you know It’s the Bible has the answers and most people today are not reading their Bible Tritches are not teaching the Bible and so people are left in the dark because the Bible is the light That is the light our way and if you’re not reading your Bible, you’re gonna be Most likely tricked or deceived or misled by people who say things that You might say, well that sounds like what the Bible says, unless you read it for yourself, you won’t know.
And you really have to be on your toes today. Rod in Charles City, Virginia, calls in and he says, does God send you a mate? What if you don’t like them? Or when they die and you get a second best is God of genie, of course, that’s all craziness, but God certainly will guide your steps. You know, throughout the Bible, God has put people together for a lifetime and you have to obviously seek the Lord in that. If you’re a believer, there are some rules that God has set down.
First of all, a believer is not the Marian unbeliever. So if you’re looking for a mate, then you need to be looking where you’ll find another believer. So most likely you might find another believer possible mate if you’re single looking for a wife or a woman looking for a husband that you’d find another believer so you need to find out where they hang out. And the Lord as you pursue Him, and if you really want to find God’s will, He will bring the right person across your path, no doubt about it.
You know, when Elie Azer was sent out in the Old Testament to find a wife for I, he said, I, being in the way, the Lord led me a great verse on knowing God’s will. And God obviously led him right to the very woman that would be the wife for I, I, and he brought her back on this caravan. And Isaac was excited to meet that bride. when he saw her and the caravan coming, he ran out to meet her there in the field and of course she got off the camel and they became married in the four-thirds.
Children were Jacob and Esau and we know Jacob became the father of the nation of Israel. Sighting stuff but yes, don’t give up hope. Trust the Lord and He will guide you in your steps. I love Proverbs 3, 5 and 6. Trust the Lord with all your heart. Lead none to your understanding and all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths. We’re getting to the very end here and if you’d like to call us you can leave an offer a question or you probably will have to call in for tomorrow’s show.
But let me just say a word about Bible and we are listeners supported. We need your help financially and for your prayers to be able to do what we’re doing here and there’s just no other way it can be done. So if you haven’t given lately or if you could give at this time it would be very helpful. You know we’re living in a time right now when things are getting tighter. Our country with the price of wool and this, not the other.
I think one of the areas that is suffering is of course Christian ministries and we are no exception. So pray for us that the Lord would continue to provide all that we need so we hate to lose the station or place where we’re ministering right now with Bible. We trust that God will provide. Well, we’re speaking to you right now about giving to Bibleline. And maybe you can call right after the show today and do it by credit card.

And if you want to call and ask for an envelope, you can mail your gift in to Bibleline. In any case, think about it and pray about it. But we want to thank you in advance of your prayers and your gifts, which are the gifts that you have.

Well I’m Dr. Hank Linser and we’re having a lot of fun here at Bibleline bringing the program to you and we thank you for listening every day. I hope you’re telling your friends about it. I heard a wonderful story this morning about a fellow that shared how he was a new believer and he shared with a person that he was talking to that he listens to Bible every day.
That person related back to me and they just thought, what a small world. That they listen to Bible and here they’re talking to somebody that just got saved and doesn’t have a church, doesn’t have a church home, but is listening to the Bibleline and learning. So we’re blessed. We are hearing these stories all the time of God using the Bibleline to reach the lost and to give assurance and courage to believers to open their mouths and speak up for Christ and to know that there are answers and we don’t have to apologize for the Bible.
We can speak up and say, hey, let’s say it’s a Lord and that’s just the way it is because We don’t have to be ashamed of the Bible or apologize for the Bible. It truly not only claims to be the Word of God but demonstrates to be that as well. We’re so glad that you’re listening and I hope you are blessing to you. You can get our teachings on CD or DVD.
