Bible, get it out and we’re going to talk about Jesus Christ and how that He is God Himself. He according to the Bible is the God-Man. And in John 1-1, it says, in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. So here we have another title for the Lord Jesus Christ that He is absolutely God in flesh. And it says in verse 14, and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we be held His glory.
So we find God came and took on human flesh and dwelt in that flesh, and that’s what happened at Bethlehem. Two thousand years ago, God came to the earth and took on human flesh. It says in Isaiah 9, 6, a child would be born, a son would be given, and his name would be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. So this child would be no ordinary child, he would be the Mighty God, he would be the Everlasting Father.
He would be the Prince of Peace and he would eternally rule forever and ever and ever. He would begin by coming back in his second coming and setting up a kingdom that would be forever and ever and ever and ever. Well, let me go now to another verse. It’s kind of one that is caused some people to be concerned that don’t understand what’s going on. And that’s in 1st Corinthians chapter 15. And if you look over there, in verse 28 it tells us about Jesus and when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him that God may be all and all.
One of the things that people don’t seem to get sometime is that Jesus Christ is a man, fully man, and will remain as a man eternally. This man is now seated at the right hand of God the Father in heaven. So when you go to heaven, I believe you’re going to see Jesus, and he is the God-man. Not only is he God, but he’s a man. And as a man, he got hungry. And as a man, he got tired and went to sleep.
as a man he had all the human emotions that we have except he was absolutely without sin. Yet at the same time he was God and as God he could forgive sin, as God he could raise the dead, as God he could walk on the water, as God he could multiply the loaves and the fishes. So we have Jesus being God and man and Jesus the man will one day submit himself to the father turning over all of the kingdoms and things that he is ruler and possessor over and so on.
And all that has to do with the fact of recognizing that he is the God-man. He’s God who came and took on human flesh. If you deny the deity of Christ, then you will not be saved because obviously you are not recognizing the God of the Bible, the Jesus of the Bible, if you deny Him. Jesus made a very, very plain statement in John 824. He said, You shall die in your sins, for if you believe not that I am, you shall die in your sins.
The phrase I am is the name that God used when appeared to Moses at the burning bush. And when God told Moses his name, he said, I am hath sent thee unto Pharaoh. And so God here identifies himself as the God who is not bound by time, but whenever he intercepts time, he always intercepts it in the present tense. God doesn’t ever appear and say I was. God doesn’t ever appear and say I will be, but He says, I am.
And Jesus is claiming to be the very same God that appeared to Moses and the very same God that told Moses that he was the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So Jesus is the I Am. And he amplified that. And in John 14, 6, he said, I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. And no man come unto the Father but by me.” Then notice if you will carefully, if you have your Bible open to John 14.6, I am the way, the truth, the life, no man come unto the Father but by me.
Verse 7 says, If you had known me, you should have known my Father also. And from henceforth you know him and have seen him. Catch that. Jesus is saying, If you’ve seen him, you’ve seen the Father. 8, Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it’s your frightness us. In verse 9, Jesus saith unto him, have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father.
And how saith thou then show us the Father? What an incredible statement! Jesus is saying, if you saw him, you saw the Father, Because he is God, and he is God who is taken on flesh. And over in 1 John, the mark of the Antichrist is to deny this. And it’s amazing how many are influenced by Satan, who would love to have you reject who Christ is. And before I go there, but in Philippians chapter 2, it tells us about Jesus that he was who who being in the form of God.
He thought it not robbery to be equal with God. This is Philippians 2, verse 6 where it says about Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men. So Jesus Christ was God and he was equal with God. But he made himself of no reputation. and he became a man and went to the cross and became obedient unto death.
But in 1 John it says, whosoever denies the Son the same hath not the Father. That’s pretty powerful when you think about it. If you deny who Jesus is, that he’s the… He’s got to took on flesh. If you deny the Son, then according to 1 John 2, 23, You don’t have the Father. The Jehovah’s Witnesses fall into that category. They are Jehovahless. That’s right. They don’t have Jehovah. Why? Because they deny the Son. If you deny the Son, you don’t have the Father.
If you acknowledge the Son, then you have the Father also. Also, it tells us in 2nd John, verse 9, that if you do not abide in the doctrine of Christ, you don’t even have God. So you don’t have God unless you acknowledge the deity of Christ. And so the Jones witnesses are Jehovahless and they’re godless. They don’t have God and they don’t have the Father. They are without God. Jesus Christ is clearly God. And you see that throughout the Bible.
Christ claims that He is the way, the truth, and the life. He also says He is the first and the last. And back in Isaiah, Yahweh, or Jehovah, says, He’s the first and the last, and beside me there is no God. So we’ve got a problem here. Either we have two separate gods, or we have the one and the same God, and of course that’s what the Bible teaches. #$#$ Jesus claims to be the very God who created this universe, who is the God who appeared to Moses at the burning bush, the God who is the author of scripture, the God that one day everybody will stand before and unless you have trusted him as your Savior, you will never be able to enter into heaven.
There is only one way and that is to trust Christ. You know, a lot of people are trying to work their way to heaven and it won’t get you there. Salvation is not by works. It’s not of works. It is based totally and completely on the finish work that Christ accomplished at the cross for you and me. And when he died, he paid for your sin debt and full was varied and rose again from the dead. When you trust him, as your Savior, God saves you eternally.
We’re going to go to the phone lines of Dr. England’s room and the phone number here at Byblind is 1-800-576-3771 and that phone number is again 1-800-576-3771 and we have Tony in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Tony welcome to Byblind you’re on the air. Yeah, how you doing, ain’t it? Me, him. It’s doing good. Revelation, I got two questions for you, real real fan. Revelation 320. And that’s a…)]. That’s talking about a believer like an out of fellowship, right? Well, Revelation 320, we got a lot of crackly on your phone call there.
Tony, it’s talking about… about the church related to Sia in particular and that church was really out of fellowship like you say and they were materialistic and really left Jesus out of their daily life. And Jesus is standing at the church door and he’s knocking and saying that if anybody would open the door he would come in and suffer them. That has to do with a meal, a time of fellowship and conversation just like at the Lord’s Supper at the last supper when the disciples were gathered together.
There was a lot of conversation that went on that night and there was a lot of talking around the meal and of course that’s what Jesus is talking about there. This is not a salvation verse. It’s not inviting Christ into your heart store. It’s talking about the door of the church. And of course I could apply to any church today that really doesn’t seem to need Jesus. A lot of churches seem to leave Jesus out of their program. They don’t seem to need a prayer meeting.
They don’t seem to need a Sunday evening service. They don’t seem to have a need for a lot of things because they are running smoothly without Jesus at all. So that’s about the fellowship with Christ as a member within the church and we should obviously be walking with the Lord and serving the Lord every day as a believer. We now have Loveda. And she is in Lake Worth, Florida. And, uh, Lovita, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, Dr.
Hank, this is Lovita. Um, I wanted to tell you, my husband and I, uh, Tim and I just joined a, or just started going to a new church. And the pastor, Ray Duke, said he went to school with you at Florida Bible. That’s correct. I know Ray very well, huh? And he also told us that you were everyone’s hero. I don’t know about that. That’s real kind of here, he’s winning points. Okay. My questions are, if a person is born again, what happens to them immediately following death?
Now I’m going to ask a couple of questions here and then I’ll hang up and just allow you to talk about them. If a person is born again, what happens to them immediately following death? Do they go to the third heaven and when do they appear before the judgment seat of Christ? Okay, number one, let’s just stop for a second. Number one, immediately upon death they’re present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5, 8 says, absent from the body, present with the Lord, but they will not be judged at the judgment seat of Christ until the event of the rapture.
When Christ comes back, that’s when we will give an account of how we’ve lived our lives and that will determine the degree of reward or loss of reward in heaven. So that is something that will happen after for that believer who has died. Now if you are living when the rapture happens then you are immediately going to be facing the judgment of Christ as well as be immediately in the presence of the Lord. But if you die as a believer in this age, you are absent from the body, the presence of the Lord, 2 Corinthians 5 and 8.
Okay, what is the Lord as soon as you die? Absolutely. And then you go to the third heaven. That’s correct. and when do oh and then you go before the judgment to Christ after the rapture when the rapture happens is that’s the time when he’s going to judge the believers yes so right at the rapture as soon as we get our new bodies we’re with the Lord the will be immediately at that judgment called the judgment to Christ okay it happens that is appearing In 2 Timothy 4 verse 1 it says that Christ is the one who will come back and judge us and he judges us at the time of his appearing according to 2 Timothy 4 1 and other verses.
Ok now will they actually live in the New Jerusalem during that time and please describe and explain what the New Jerusalem is? Well the New Jerusalem is the city of the living God is described as being that and it It says that basically all the believers of all the ages will live there. That city is in the third heaven right now. But according to Revelation chapter 21 verse 1 and 2 John sees after the present earth has been destroyed and God creates the new heavens and new earth.
He says, I John saw the heavenly city, the New Jerusalem descending from God out of heaven down here to the earth. I believe it will orbit the planet Earth and it will be a spectacular city where we’ll all have our mansion and live with the Lord. It’s going to be really a wonderful, wonderful time. But there are numerous verses that talk about it and one of the ones I like is in the book of Hebrews and I’m turning there now.
It says here that you as a believer are come unto Mount Zion and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels. And then he goes on to talk about Christ and so on being there. So when you die, you’ll immediately be with the Lord, and I believe we will go to the New Jerusalem. That’s where our home will be. And it will orbit the earth and then it will descend on the earth or become the earth.
No, it descends from heaven to the earth, but I believe it orbits the earth. It’s so large. It’s actually larger than the moon. So it’s going to be bigger than the Earth. No, not bigger than the Earth, but bigger than the moon. OK. So it’s pretty large. So that will come down from heaven to orbit the new earth and that’s going to be our home. Oh, I finally understand. So it will continue to orbit the earth. Yes. Okay, I’ve got you.
Now, along that same line, what about the unsafe person? Where does he go and for how long and placing him here before the white throne? Yeah, immediately upon death they go to Hades, which is in the heart of the earth, and it’s a place of flame and torment. In Luke 16 you see a rich man whose loss to dies and he is immediately in that place of form in the heart of the earth. And they remain there until Revelation 20, after the thousand year reign of Christ, then it says Hades delivers up the dead which were in it and that is the souls of all the lost.
They are judged according to their works and assigned a degree of punishment in hell according what they’ve done but they don’t get cast in the hell until after Satan is cast in that happens after the monument then they’re brought up out of Hades and and judged and given a degree of punishment assigned a degree of punishment and cast into the eternal lake of fire okay it really does I thank you very much okay thank you la vita down in lake worth florida and apparently attending Church of a good friend of mine.
We have Rebecca in Tampa, Florida. Rebecca, welcome to Bible on Year on Year. Hello, Dr. Hay. Thank you so much for taking the call. I would like to say that I think you are the smartest man I’ve ever listened to regarding God, and I really respect you and your wisdom. I would like to know, sir, actually my original question was the one that the woman just asked, you answered it perfectly. And now I’m wondering, there are the saved and those that are not saved here on the planet now on Earth now.
And I’m wondering because I’m struggling myself personally with people that are not kind and it seems to me to be the vast majority of people living are not kind. And I’m wondering how, I’m wondering how to live amongst them until I go home. I understand. You know the Bible tells us it’s not going to get better. In Matthew 24 it tells about one of the signs of the return of Christ is the love of many. It says, we’ll grow cold.
So we’re finding that people will be cold-hearted and cruel. Second Timothy, chapter 3, it’s almost like reading the headlines as it tells about how things will be just as this present age is closing out. the rapture is coming up right ahead. It describes again that men will be lovers of their own selves and of pleasures more than lovers of God. It’s going to be a time where it says evil men will grow worse and worse being deceived and deceiving others.
So it’s not going to be a nice time. And I think in light of it, and the answer to your question is right there in that chapter. If you read 2 Timothy chapter 3 it says, this no also in the last day’s perilous time shall come and it describes difficult times on the earth. But then it comes down to the end of the chapter and reminds us that what you need to do is get into the Bible. It says for all scriptures given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction and righteousness that the The man of God may be completely furnished under all good work.
Everything you need to be able to handle the world you’re living in can really be found in the Bible. You just need to cling to the Lord and stay in the Bible as much as possible. I hope that you’ll do that, Rebecca. I will. Can I just ask you one more quick question? Thank you so much for that answer. My mother passed away four years ago. Excuse me one second. Let me say goodbye to Miami. I’m looking at the clock here.
And Miami signs off early, but we are excited about being on the air in Miami. And Monday we should be on for the full hour down there. And of course right now you can catch these programs on the internet as often as you like. Thanks Miami. I’m back. Rebecca, I’m sorry about the loss of your mother. Yes, I’m just. Thank you. I’m just wondering, can she see me now here on Earth living? No, I don’t believe they can. I think it would bring sorrow to heaven if they could see the trials and troubles and struggles that are happening here on the earth.
And so I don’t believe they are aware of that at all. Now, I do believe that they learn when somebody down here gets saved. The Bible sees to make that very clear. In Luke 15, it says there’s joy in heaven in the presence of the angels when one person gets saved. So, apparently when people down here get saved, there’s an announcement made in heaven and believers rejoice. And so your mother, I’m sure, as different family members get saved, maybe you’re attempting to lead them to Christ right now.
And when they do get saved, an announcement is made in heaven, your mother then rejoices with great joy over the fact that, hey, there’s another family member that’ll be joining her in heaven one day. They’re not just the people in heaven are not just aware that someone’s been saved. They’re aware of specifically who has been saved. Absolutely they are. And in Revelation… Can you remember that I’m her daughter now where she is? Oh, yes, of course. Yes. Oh, God.
It’s wonderful. It’s fairly great. I can’t wait to get to heaven. It won’t be long. And I think we’re all going to be… There’s believers at least because the world will continue on, but the rapture is going to snatch us all out. Rebecca, I’ve got a run. Thank you for calling. Thank you so much. You’re welcome. Rebecca in Tampa, Florida. In the case we are going to come up on our break here pretty quickly and we’d like to say again we pray everybody listening is trusted Christ.
Also if you could help Bibleline we really do need your help. We are listeners supported and if you could call it and give a gift today to Bibleline or call in and ask for an unload to be sent and mail your gift in that would be really appreciated. We’re gonna take a short break, we’ll come back into a second half hour of Bible Eye. And I hope you’ll stick with us for the next half hour. God bless, I’ll be right back in just a moment.
Don’t go away, Bible Eye will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright, I’m Dr. England, it’s great to be with you today, it’s Thursday. By the way, tonight our TV program is on direct TV, channel 367 at 630 Eastern Standard Time and we hope that you’ll be watching if you have direct TV. That’s tonight at 630. I hope that you’ll take advantage of the fact that our internet site has got all those things right there for you. That’s Bibleline ministries.org. Bibleline ministries.org you can click that any time of day or night. If you can’t sleep in the middle of the night, I’ve had people tell me this. They would go to their computer, pull up Bible and listen to some of our messages and it would relax them and they’d go right back to sleep.
Isn’t that great? So I guess I am a way of putting you to sleep sometimes as people find that they just kind of relax when they hear some of the programs and listen to the scriptures. So check it out. And maybe sometime when you’re not able to sleep at night, go ahead and go to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org. And we hope that you’ll take advantage. We are excited about our Bibleline music for children. If you haven’t tried that, please go to our website and click on the online bookstore and on the right side of every page there’s a vertical banner.
Click on that and you get the sample, six different CDs of music for children. It’s wonderful. You can type in the name of your child, grandchild, nephew, or niece and you can actually hear a sample. If you order it, your child or grandchild or whatever would receive a CD with their name repeated in the CD somewhere between 40 and 45 times. So you might want to check that out. So I think you’re going to really enjoy that. I know it’s been a powerful tool for me with communicating with my granddaughter.
She loves that CD. And we have so many other things on our website that I hope you will check it out and take time to look at including our radio programs, TV programs, and our worship services. And you can join us Sunday if you don’t have a church that you’re going to attend. That’s a good Bible teaching church. You can join our worship service. And that’s of course at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning. And if you are waiting there, as soon as I begin the message, the audio and the video will come up and you’ll be able to watch it.
We’re gonna… Come back to the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour of Bibleline right now so we hope you’ll keep you ready to write where it is. And here we go. We’re going to do that second half hour right now. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom.
We’re back from that break and this is Bible and we’re coming to you live right now from Tampa, Florida from our studios at the Calvary Community Church. We’re on the pastor. You’re always welcome to come by and say hi and we hope you will. We have people coming by all day long every day and you’re welcome to come by as well. Our resource center is open until about 430 and you can come and take a look at what we’ve got and maybe get that Schofield Bible that we’ve been talking about or get some of the CD’s the teachings that we have here available.
We’ve done about 40 different presentations. We’ve got first Peter, 10 hours of teaching, second Peter, 10 hours of teaching that we just finished. They’re also available on CD and DVD. We also have the Gospel of John. That was 20 hours of teaching available on the Gospel of John. What a wonderful study that was and we invite you to join that study by getting that CD or DVD set and watching them at your convenience at your home and maybe they might be used by you to facilitate a Bible study or a home Bible study or a Sunday school class.
A lot of people are using them in that way. Also if you’re curious about going to Israel, we are trying to get this thing finalized. Almost there, we keep saying that, but we’re almost there. I’ve been working with them on what hotels we would choose. I think we’re going to have a wonderful trip. It’ll be number 16 for me. But if the Lord hasn’t snatched us out this year, which he certainly might do, we’ll try to go February 23rd for a 10-day Israel trip and an extension leaving earlier than that on the 18th of February, which will include Egypt, Cairo, the pyramids, the museum there of all the over 100,000 artifacts, artifacts, the mummies, the pharaohs, treasures and so on.
And we’ll of course get a chance to climb inside if you’d like into the Great Pyramid. We will take a dinner cruise on the Nile River. We’ll go to the city of a lot on the Red Sea, what a beautiful place where people come from really all over the world to Scuba dive into W waterski and to Jetski and to enjoy the sun and the beaches. And then we’ll go into Jordan to the Rock City of Petra and there we’ll see the place where the Jews will flee from the Antichrist.
And then we’ll join the people coming from the States for the 10-day Israel portion only and we’ll spend the next 10 days touring Israel. So if you want to get on the list to get a brochure as soon as they’re ready, call and leave your name and say you’d like to be on the list for those that might be interested in going to Israel. If you like to call us, we’ll put you up on the air here. The number is 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. So if you want to call, call right now 1-800-576-3771. And we’re now going to go to Bob and he’s down in Sarasota, Florida. And Bob, welcome to Bible and you’re on the earth. Hey, how are you today? Good. I have a question. I was reading Luke 22, 35 through 37 there and I wonder if I, the Lord told them to buy a sword and I’ll hang out and listen to your answer on the earth. Okay. Well, because the kingdom hasn’t been set up yet, you know, there will be peace on earth, goodwill toward men at the Second Coming of Christ.
And then you won’t need a sword. In fact, all the swords will be beaten into plowshares and there will be no war and there won’t learn war anymore. But in the meantime, since Christ has been rejected in the moment of heaven, you need to be able to protect yourself. And the Bible does teach self-defense. And so to have a weapon to protect your family is certainly a biblical truth or principle. And the Bible says if someone were to invade your home and they were killed in the struggle to protect your family, that’s justifiable homicide.
Our laws are based on those kind of things. So that’s what he’s saying. He’s saying that basically he’s rejected. He’s going back to heaven. And now there will be nothing but wars and rumors of wars right up until the fact or when Christ would come back. And that’s exactly what we’ve seen here in history for the past 2000 years. But there will be peace one day, but that’s not until Jesus returns seven years after the rapture at the second coming.
We now have Karen in Sarasota and Karen, welcome the Bible and you’re on the air. Karen? Thank you. Yeah, you’re on the air. Okay. Yes, this is here. I’m from South Florida. And my question is, is what point of history Antichrist be revealed? And just 2nd Thessalonians 2 mean that we will go through a period of tribulation as the Antichrist, if he’s revealed during the tribulation, does that mean we will be going through the tribulation too? And I’m going to hang up and listen to him.
Okay, Karen. Actually 2nd Thessalist. chapter 2, verse 3, is talking about the rapture. The Greek word there means departure and the departure, if you read the context of 2 Thessalonians, chapter 2, is talking about the departure of the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit that indwells us believers. So let’s take a look at it and you’ll notice it says here in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 and I’m almost there. It says here, let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall not come except there come a, it should read a departure.
If you look down a little bit later now it says in verse 7 that the mystery of iniquity death already work, only he who now leteth will let. That really needs to be explained because the word let used to mean to hinder, but now means to allow. So if we put in the correct meaning for the time when the King James translation was made, it really is saying only he who hinders iniquity will continue to hinder iniquity until he be taken Now the way, that’s the Holy Spirit.
And when the Holy Spirit goes, we go. So the departure in verse three is the departure of the Holy Spirit. It’s translated falling away in the King James, and some have imagined that it’s a departure from scripture, and therefore that would be apostasy. But really, if you read the context, it’s talking about the departure of the Holy Spirit. So we’re going to go when the Holy Spirit goes because he involves us permanently. And then it says in verse 3, and then that man of sin, the son of perdition, will be revealed and describes him, and then it tells us that he will be destroyed verse 8 at the second coming.
So we have the rapture in verse 3, the second coming in verse 8, the anacrist revealed right after the rapture, and we’re gone, because the one who is hindering iniquity verse 7, and will continue to hinder iniquity in us the Christians who are the salt of the earth will be taken out when he goes we go and I hope that answers it for you, Karen. We will not be in the tribulation period for one second. If you read 1st thessalonians chapter 1 verse 10, it says we are to wait for his son from heaven, who has delivered us from the wrath to come.
So he is the one we are waiting for. If the tribulation period had to happen first, then it would say wait for the tribulation, but it says wait for his son. So that his son is the next event on God’s program, then the tribulation period, then the second coming seven years later. We now have Doug, and Doug is in Mulliken, Michigan, and let’s see here. I think I just got Steve and Sarasota here. Steve, welcome to Bible Island. I’ll get Doug in just a minute.
How you doing? Good. We’re located in Sarasota. to meet up with some other listeners in the area that really can’t find a church that teaches the other gospel as we believe. Now maybe meeting that series on Sunday just to kind of get to know some local listeners that like myself that don’t really have a place. What you might do, Steve, is leave your number here with us at Bibleline. If there are others that are interested, they could call us here and leave their number and we can get you all hooked up.
That way everybody would be doing it because they want to. So leave your number with our operators and we’ll try to do that. We’re now going to go to Doug in Michigan and Doug welcome to Bible Eye. Yeah, thanks for taking my call. My question is you talk about the rapture and I’m kind of struggling with those out there that say there’s not going to be a rapture that we’re going to be here until Christ returns. And that’s where the great falling away that talks about in Revelation comes from because the people will be expecting a rapture and there will be none.
I can kind of see their point but and also they claim that no time is Christ ever you know taking his people out of the world You know to avoid the the trials and the tribulations, you know that that they face How do you respond to that? Well, I tell you that they’re not reading their Bible. It’s very clear in first thessalonians 4 16 and 17 that we which are alive and remain shall be caught up with him in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
Now the word caught up, that’s the meaning of rapture. You could put the word rapture there. And in the Latin translation, the Latin word rapturo is used, which means rapture. So the Bible clearly teaches that there will be a group living that will be exempted from death and they will never die. Jesus spoke about that in John 11. He raised Lazarus from the dead. He said in verse 25 of John 11, I am the resurrection and the life. He the believeth in me, though he were dead yet, shall he live.
Then get ready, verse 26, anticipates the rapture at the end of this age. And it says, and whosoever, liveth, and believeth in me, shall never die. Christ talks about a group that will never die. I think we are living close enough that we might be in that group that will never experience physical death. will be caught up alive in the air to meet the Lord and be transformed in our new bodies on the way up. Let me quote that again in verse 25 Christ talks about those that die during this age that will be resurrected.
Verse 26 he says that, who so ever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. And he says, Martha, do you believe this? And she said she did. So that is the rapture and there are numerous other verses. They’re clearly there. We have a wonderful book here. It does a good job on it. It’s by Tim LaHaye, but it’s called A Rapture. I was impressed with the presentation, but it definitely shows the scriptures. If you believe the Bible, you have to believe that there is going to be a Rapture.
Taking out of the believers, this is the body of Christ being raptured out. I like the fact that these things are confirmed and typed in the Old Testament. If you look at Genesis 22, it says there that Abraham offered up his son Isaac. That was a picture of Calvary. And we find the death, the barrel, the resurrection of Christ, and even the ascension of Christ pictured to us in Genesis 22. Then we find in chapter 23 that Abraham’s wife Sarah dies.
And Sarah is buried in the cave in McPeala, in which is modern day he brawn. I’ve been there to the burial place of Sarah. And you find that there is a picture of how Israel is now put aside or is no longer the main player here on the earth during the time when God is calling out his church. In Genesis 24 you have Eliezer, the servant of Abraham, going into a far country to get a bride for his son Isaac.
Isaac is a picture of Christ. Eliezer is a picture of the Holy Spirit. The far country is the planet earth here. And there the Holy Spirit is getting a bride. And us Gentiles are being selected out to be the bride of Christ. And then you have when he brings Rebecca back Isaac leaves and runs out and meets her in the field. I believe that’s a picture of the meeting in the air that Christ comes part way to meet his bride as she approaches.
Then chapter 25 of Genesis you have Abraham getting married again, Katura, his second wife. And that’s a picture of the fact God continuing his plan for Israel. So what happens here in this present age, the Holy Spirit, is here collecting together a bride for Christ and every one of us in this church age are the body of Christ and we become the bride of Christ and we find that once we’re raptured out, then God will will continue his plan for Israel, which is pictured in Genesis 25 by…
Abraham getting married to the second wife, Katura. Sarah had already died. I think it all just really matches up real nice and neat when you see when you have the correct answer as a correct doctrine. The Bible just falls into place and even the pictures in the Old Testament line up exactly in line with what we believe to be true. So the rapture is going to happen and I believe we’re getting very close and then God will return to his purpose for Israel and they’re already back in the land in anticipation of that Israel became a nation 60 years ago now, and I think the time is running out so that that generation will not pass away until Christ is returned.
And we’re right there. I think we’re running against the clock now, and I’m trying to do all I can do to reach as many people for Christ as I can before we’re snatched out of here because I think we’re going to be leaving the planet relatively soon. I’m not a date-setter, but I’m living every day watching for the Lord to return. It’s an exciting way to live as a believer. So you get up with a little bit of extra oomph and your step when you think, wow, this could be the day that Jesus would return.
Doug, I hope that helps. Okay, thank you. And it was dug up in Michigan and I think the Bible is very clear. I recommend the book very much. I also have a 12-hour teaching, 12 hours of CDs on the Rapture, all the different positions, clearly teaching that the Bible does have a rapture. We have Edgar in Springlake, North Carolina and Edgar welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. How are you doing this morning? As a regular Bible-armed listener, up in time I hear colors crawling into the shore about fast and in Isaiah 58 I found a great incentive to fast and first think about the 58 is that it’s not just the fast.
that I have chosen to lose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke, and I would recommend the listeners who are interested in fasting to read just read from verse 6 on to the end of the chapter. It just gives great information on what fasting would do for you. Alright, well thank you very much You’re at a test? Fasting is something we do every day whether we realize it or not, but also he’s talking about a much greater meaning than just denying yourself some food.
We’re now going to go to Linda and Linda is in Dunedin, Florida and Linda, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Okay, go ahead, Pastor. Reading in Second Corinthians and I want to understand better how to change our thoughts because that’s the battlefield of the mind where Satan is trying to defeat us. Can you highlight and teach? Yeah, well, obviously, your mind is obviously where everything is decided. I like Flip in Chapter 4, which is really what you’re talking about, where it says you You have to think on things that are lovely things that are pure things that are of good report and so on, and you really need to get your head into the Bible.
So I believe in what I’ve tried to do is memorize as much scripture as I possibly can. And I know I have probably three to five thousand verses of scripture in my head that I know by heart. And the more of the scriptures you can put in your head, the more God can recall them to your memory. And that’s what the Lord says, back in Psalm 119, it says, Thy word of I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.
And so that’s Psalm 119. So you hide God’s word in your heart by memorization. And when you have those scriptures in your mind, God can recall them to your memory and just at the appropriate time when you need them. So it’s very important to get into the Bible, read Philippians 4 about keeping your thoughts on the correct type of things in the Scriptures. And you’re going to be in good shape, and it says there in Philippians that the peace of God, that passes all understanding, will guard and keep and direct your minds in the proper direction.
The first psalm also is a beautiful one where it says, blessed is the man. He is not walking in the council of him, godly, and sitting in the sea to score the sword, but his delight is in God’s word, the law of the Lord. And in God’s word, does he meditate day and night? That person is going to be fruitful, effective, and blessed, and you need to be in the Word of God. So I hope that helps. I would recommend Psalms 1.
I would recommend Flip in Spore, and I would recommend memorizing Scripture. I used to do it by just taking three by five cards, writing the verses on one side and the address on the other. And I had a collection of about 5,000 cards that I would review. I’d carry them with me in my shirt pocket. And when I was at a traffic light or some other time or any time when I was at a few moments, I would grab a verse and practice until I got it down.
We now have Lou in Tampa, Florida. Lou, welcome to Bibleline Year on Year. Well, good morning, Dr. Hank. How are you? Good. Two quick questions and I’ll hang up with you the answers. The first one, the believer when he is at the judgment seat for the rewards. Let me have the timeline on that. Question number two, or if we’re going to miss somebody with a Calvinistic approach yesterday, They are main versing to be John. First John, and I can’t quote the verse where it said, if it wasn’t for God putting it in your heart to begin with, you wouldn’t be able to make the decision anyway because we’re all evil.
It was something to that effect, but he kept quoting one of the chapters in John as a verse that the Calvinists used. I’ll go ahead now and hang up and I’ll listen to your answer, okay? As far as the timeline on the Judgement seat of Christ, we already mentioned that, that occurs at the Rapture. When Christ snatches us up, that’s the time when we’ll be judged. If you read 2 Timothy 4, it’s quite clear. And there Paul talks about the crown that will be received for loving and watching for Christ’s appearance.
And it says that the Lord would give him that crown of righteousness at that day, in that day in the passage here is the return of Christ at the Rapture. And so that’s when we’ll be rewarded, that’s when Paul will get his rewards, and when all the believers of this age from Pentecostal Rapture will get their rewards. I’m not really sure what verse you’re referring to there in John, but obviously the Bible says that believers can, or rather unbelievers can believe the Gospel and become saved, and that the Word of God brings life to unsaved people when they respond to it.
John 5.25 says that the hours coming in now is when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God and they did hear, shall live. And what will they hear? Well the previous verse says, He that heareth my word and believeth on Him that sent me hath everlasting life shall not come into condemnation but has passed from death and the life. When you hear the gospel message that Christ has given to us within His Word, it brings life to the unsaved man who responds to that and believes it.
So yes, you can believe and the Calvinist is really totally wrong. It’s a shame because it kills evangelism because why bother the witness if God has already elected or chosen those who will be saved and those that will not. That’s terribly sad. In any case, Don in Grand Blunt, Michigan calls in, leaves us off her question, says, what do you think about the Ryrie Study Bible? I find it very informative and helpful. I agree. It’s a good Bible. I am very, very unhappy with the note though in James 2.
I I can’t imagine Charles R.I.R.I.E. writing that note because I love him as an author and I know he doesn’t believe this way, but he says in the footnote in games that faith and works are two parts of a one ticket coupon that both are necessary to go to heaven and I don’t believe he wrote that. But in the case that’s not true, that’s wrong, and I would scratch that note out of the Rirey study Bible. And, but otherwise, for the most part, I like the Rirey study Bible very good.
And just watch out for that one in James too, that note is wrong. You can’t necessarily believe all the notes in any Bible, not even the skill field. But you have, you can believe the scriptures, and that’s wonderful. wonderful. Some of these translations today leave out verses like the NIV leaves out 44 verses in their entirety. It leaves out Matthew 1811. Do you have an NIV in your The one in Matthew 1811 says the Son of Man is coming to seek and to save that which was lost.
It’s gone. The one in Acts 8 is about how if you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that’s the condition for being water baptized as a testimony of your faith. Don and Grand Blank also asked, have you heard of Arnold Murray and the Shepherd’s Chapel? your faith. Don and Grand Blank also asked, have you heard of Arnold Murray and the Shepherd’s Chapel? He believes you can lose your salvation as doctrine is terrible. I would not listen to Arnold Murray anymore.
Well, thank you very much for about out of time here. I have to run, but we’ll be back again tomorrow. Don’t forget our TV program is on Direct TV tonight at 630 Eastern Standard Time nationwide. Anywhere on the North American continent, if If you have direct TV, you can get our program tonight at 6.30 Eastern Standard Time. Give that a try. Also, we are listeners supported. We need your help. We don’t want to have to ever drop the station.
And in fact, we would love to be able to be on all over the world and reach as many people as we can. As I think we’re running against the clock, Christ is coming back and we need to reach out as quickly as we can to snatch as many out of the devil’s hands by giving them the word before it happens. Call with you and give a gift by credit card or call and ask for an envelope to be sent mail a gift to Bible and it would be greatly appreciated and I know that God will bless you for it and we thank you in advance.
I’m Dr. Englund from saying goodbye for today. Let me recommend you keep looking up because I think Jesus is coming. I think we’re getting close and have a great day and we’ll be back again tomorrow. Be sure to tune in for another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church of Tampa, I’m Dr. Englund, and it’s great to be with you again today. Thank you so much for tuning in. I hope you’re enjoying the programs. And I hope you’ll go back and take advantage of them and listen to them a second and a third time. Some people tell me that they get much more the second go around, the third go around. And so in the evening, if you go, or whatever time you want to, if you go to the internet, you can listen to the programs.
And the nice thing about the internet is you can back me up, pass forward, be, pause me. and you can have your Bible open and you can take your time. And review the part of the program that you want and the questions that we’re asked that you are really curious about. And that’s a nice feature that we have about the internet. Also to watch our worship services, I think you’ll enjoy the Sunday messages and we have a year’s worth of them sitting there for you to observe.
And I hope you’ll take advantage of all of that. Bibleline is listed as supported. If you could help us, it would be appreciated really. I believe that God is going to reward you equally with us that are here actually putting on the program because I believe everybody that participates is going to be rewarded. And so as you invest in Bibleline and give of your gifts to Bibleline to keep it on the year, God is going to bless you with the results and the fruit of this ministry of being applied to your account in heaven.
The Bible clearly teaches that. Philippians 4 17 is a favor to mine. Paul says, I’m not trying to get your money. I don’t desire a gift, but a desire of fruit that may abound to your account. So here, as he appealed to them to give, he was telling them that the fruit of his ministry would account on their account in heaven as a result of their giving to the ministry. I think that’s really quite an amazing thing and I would love to go back in time and just spend my life supporting Paul’s ministry.
Wow, I’d love to have all the fruit that he won on my account. We’ve got a run but I’ll be back tomorrow. I’m Dr. Inkermans from saying goodbye for today. We’ll be back again tomorrow morning and we hope that you’ll listen and tell that to your friends as well. Give them to listen and have a great day and we’ll see you tomorrow. Keep looking up.
