Bibleline Radio Show – 2006-12-12 – The Christmas Tree

Did you know that we have no record of the early Christians celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ? If you read the New Testament, you will find it to be silent as to the early Christians celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. In fact, it was not until the fourth century that Christians began to celebrate Christmas.

And by the way, would you consider at this time giving a special gift to Bibleline to help us to be able to take care of all of our expenses. As we close out this year, we’d like to enter the new year with no debt, with nothing outstanding, and that would be a great help. help. A lot of people make a Christmas list. They put their nephews or nieces, their children, their grandchildren, and aunts and uncles and parents and everybody on the list.

But a lot of times Jesus isn’t even on the list. Can you imagine going to a birthday party, giving gifts to everybody at the party but not to the one whose birthday it is? You know, this is the birthday of Christ. And certainly he ought to be at the top of our list as we think about giving during Christmas. Would you consider giving Bibleline a special Christmas gift as a way to giving to Christ this Christmas? We hope that you’ll consider and certainly we thank you in advance for your prayers and for your gifts to Bibleline and a Merry Christmas to all of you and we pray that you’ll have a wonderful and joyous holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ here this month.

By the way, we are leaving for Israel March 12th. I’d love to have you go. We’re getting closer and that’ll be Monday. We’ll come back on March 23rd of Friday. 12 days exclusively in Israel. We’ll have a wonderful time learning God’s Word and we’ll be passing out or rather going to all the places or passing by all the places. all of them, but a lot of the places where biblical events took place. You’ll be learning every minute. You’ll be taking in information and you’ll find it just like a year’s worth of Bible education crammed into 12 days.

We’re going to have a wonderful time and I hope you’ll make your plans now. You can get the information by calling our 800-100-5-763771 and we’ll mail it to you or you can go to the website and go to Bibleline news on the home page and download the full itinerary of the sign-up sheet and we hope that you’ll make your decision soon before we are not able to add any more folks to the list. Well again, we’re going to turn to the Bible for a little bit and then we’re going to turn to the phone lines and we have lots of all fair questions.

We’re going to try to tackle a number of these today if we can and try to reduce the questions that we have. If you’d like to leave an off-air question you can do it on the website which means you won’t have to make a phone call and you just type it in and hit send and away it goes. Go to our radio page and it’ll be a place there for you to do that. Also you can call in and be live on the radio with me or you can leave an off-air question with our operators.

So whatever works best for you, that is just fine. I was reading this morning about in the Tampa paper here, there has been a home sales fall and so they say here in the paper that statues of St. Joseph’s are rising. Apparently they call upon this Catholic saint, believed to help unload houses the paper says. And this is obviously idolatry, and although people deny that they’re practicing idolatry, the second commandment says they’ll not make any images, and here they say they can’t hardly keep in the stores, images of Catholic the statues of St.

Joseph because they’re supposedly helpful to selling homes. The prayer though sounds like kind of a mean-spirited prayer to Joseph because the prayer that they say when they plant him in the ground and by the way they put him in the ground upside down and they say this prayer, St. Joseph I’m going to place you in a difficult position with your head in darkness They put him upside down and you will suffer as our Lord suffered until this house is sold.

Amen well Punishing Joseph to get their household is Idolatray at its best and not amazing and you know all of this came out of About the fifth century when Rome had about 5,000 gods that people would pray to to assist them in Everything from selling your house to traveling or your dental problems or your health problems or your travel problems. And what happened is they accommodated paganism into Christianity, and they changed these from being pagan gods that people would pray to to saints.

And so this is where this list of saints, I have the Catholic Encyclopedia here nearby within a few feet and it has hundreds of saints and tells you how that they can help you in your profession, help you in your family life, help you with your health, and obviously Saint Joseph has been appointed to help you with selling your house. So interesting if you have the Tampa paper, you can go online in other cities and read it on the front page of the Tampa Tribune.

Obviously we are only to pray to God through Jesus. You know 1 Timothy 2 5 says, there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the the man Christ Jesus. To pray to saints is actually forbidden in the Bible. We’re not to pray to the dead. That would include Mary. Mary cannot hear your prayers. There is the Bible says in 1 Timothy 2, 5, there is one meat eater, not 5,000, not the hundreds, not even one or two more, Mary is not on the list.

It says in 1 Timothy 2.5, there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. You can’t get any clearer than that. There is how many mediators are rather mediators. There is one, only one mediator between God and men, that is Jesus. There is not three, not four. You cannot reach God through any one other than Jesus. Jesus said in John 14, 6, I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man comeeth unto the Father but by me.

So we can only approach God the Father through Jesus Christ. So if you try to go through Mary, it doesn’t work. Now I believe you could get a message to Mary if you wanted to by calling on Jesus and asking Him to give a message to Mary. But it doesn’t work the other way around. You cannot talk to Mary and get a message to Jesus. Mary cannot hear your prayers nor answer them. So people who pray to Mary are wasting their time.

people that are praying to St. Joseph are wasting their time and there’s about 5,000 saints that people pray to and obviously in this case they buy a statue which is idolatry and place it in the ground upside down. I have a church member in my church and he tried to sell his house for five years. It didn’t sell. He was talking to the real estate agent and the agent said, well I have buried a statue you of St. Joseph upside down in your yard in order to make sure that your house sells.

My church member fired him on the spot, said you dig that statue up out of the yard immediately. Guess what? Within one week he sold his house. This church member told me that this doesn’t work for Christians. If you’re truly a believer, obviously idolatry is not the way to go. When He got rid of the idol when he simply appealed to Jesus to sell his house. It’s sold within one week. Obviously there’s something not right about putting a statue of Joseph in the ground upside down to sell your house.

That’s to make Joseph suffer. And if he suffers enough, then he’s going to see that your house gets sold according to the Tampa Tribune. And obviously many people are buying into that and they say they cannot keep enough statues of St. Joseph on the shelves in those stores where they sell it. Anyway, we’re going to go to the phone lines. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline and I hope you will continue to enjoy Bibleline each and every day as we come to you live out of Tampa, Florida from our studios.

A Merry Christmas to you and your family and I hope everybody will enjoy the holiday. Also, as we’ve been saying, Happy Hanukkah because Hanukkah is this Saturday and it really is all about Jesus, the only mention of Hanukkah in the Bible, is in the New Testament, not the old, and it’s all about Christ as He comes to the temple that was built for Him, He’s God, and on Hanukkah He is rejected by the Jewish leadership. And obviously, Christ then goes to the cross.

And so Hanukkah is about the Jewish rejection of Christ as their Messiah, their Savior, and Cetsim on a Course toward the cross. And Jesus said, because He was rejected that their temple would be destroyed, this is the one that they celebrate at Hanukkah as it was rededicated in BC 165, because they had no idea what they were doing. liberated it from the Greco-Roman conquer called Anticus epiphanies and rededicated the temple. And they still celebrate it, but the temple hasn’t existed for 2000 years.

It was destroyed in 8070. Seems like an empty holiday because there hasn’t been a temple to celebrate the rededication of for 2000 years and yet they continue to celebrate Hanukkah. But if you read the Bible, it’s only in the New Testament and it’s all about Jesus. So let me say Happy Hanukkah to you. A great opportunity to really bring Jewish people to note that Christ is the Savior. If they would only read John’s Gospel chapter 10 where Hanukkah is mentioned, they would learn in verse 9.

Christ says, I am the door. Buy me if any man enter in, he shall be saved. They would learn that Christ makes the claim that he is indeed the Messiah. promised one that would come according to the Old Testament prophets that he is one in the same with God the Father, that he is God. And of course when they heard that on Hanukkah they took up stones to stone him, they wanted to kill him because they said he was a man claiming to be God and they rejected those claims on Hanukkah.

We’re going to go to our Jewish friend in Hollywood Florida and Harold it’s wonderful to hear from you and welcome to the Bible and program. Is this my? I tell you I’ve been waiting to hear from you and it’s so good to hear your voice again. Well I hear that magnetic voice that always gets to me and I hope you’re in the best of health. I’m doing fine thank you Harold. Good I was up in New York. Oh. hometown queens and i was sent there by my company i can’t give you the name but i can tell you don’t leave home without it alright you got it okay but i figured out listen i came back here in the first thing in my mind was i don’t want to take up the time of the believe is because you know don’t want anybody to do

not be kind to me because i’m a jewish atheist but there is so much that i can discuss but i won’t i just have a work couple items and I know when you speak you speak the truth. And the truth shall set me free. Is that what they say? That’s exactly what Christ said, yes. Okay. Well, there’s one thing I do want to tell you, you know, most of the cards that I get, the Christmas cards I get from my friends in New York, there’s one thing I respect them for.

Every year I get cards from them that don’t show the comedy or the, they show me the card that really is the card. It’s a very religious card. respect them for that. But on the other hand here, I have one question to ask you and I need an explanation from my pastor if you don’t mind. Alright, let’s go for it. Okay, I read an article in my son’s sentinel by, I guess you know him, the Reverend Bob Poy Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale.

I’m not familiar with him, go Alright, in this column, here’s this headline, God’s Chosen People. Somebody asked the question. I asked you this question. Is he referring to the chosen people being a Jew? I must be one of them, is that correct? I believe he’s probably referring to the Jewish people. Okay, I’m still a Jew, regardless. Anyway, tell me pastor. If we are the chosen people, how on the other hand, if you always, I listen to you say Jesus, if you don’t accept Jesus as the Savior, you’re condemned?

That is correct. Well, the other… There’s a conflict here. I need you to straighten out the question. We can’t be condemned if we’re chosen. All right. Let’s take a look at what the scripts you’re saying. Okay. And we first at Genesis 1213. Well there of course God picked out Abraham as being the one who would be the founder of a nation that would be used of God to bring about three things in particular. The Messiah would come of his lineage and also the scriptures would come of his lineage through the prophets.

And also this people that would come forth from Abraham would be a witness to the fact that God is faithful to His promises that He would do. What he said he would do and he would be faithful to that which is indeed true and that’s what has happened. But actually the chosen part comes from Exodus 19 where God at Mount Sinai entered into a contract with Israel where God said that if they would accept the commandments that he gave from Mount Sinai, if you will he says in verse 5 of Exodus 19, Obey my voice indeed and keep my covenant, then you shall be a peculiar people or a peculiar treasure unto me above all people.

For all the earth is mine and you shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, a holy nation, and these are the words which thou shall speak to the children of Israel. And when Moses came down and told the people that all the people answered together and said, all that the Lord has spoken, we will do. So they entered into a contract and so they would be chosen to be a kingdom of priests, a witness to the world. They would be a unique treasure above all the nations on the earth to God, but it was dependent and conditional upon their keeping the commandments that were given at Mount Sinai.

Because they failed, that’s why they went through two dispersions, but God has not cast Israel away. He still has an earthly plan for Israel. And the chosen aspect of Israel is that this earthly plan will be carried out where they will eventually, when Christ returns at the Second Coming, be the head nation on the earth and be blessed above all nations. But as far as salvation, God chooses those who believe on the Messiah. And that’s been true since the get-go.

In Genesis 15.6 we find Abraham’s salvation told to us when he believed the Lord concerning the promise of the promised seed. The Bible says in Genesis 15.6 it was counted on the Abraham for righteousness. Abraham was made righteous before God by belief in the promise of the coming Savior. That’s ever been true and true today as well. that believe that promise and trust in the Messiah are chosen then to be saved. But the Jewish people, the descendants of Abraham are chosen for an earthly blessing which is still yet to come.

When Christ will come the second time Israel will become the head nation, Christ will rule over the earth from Jerusalem. Jerusalem will become the world’s capital and Israel will become the head nation on the earth. Okay, does that answer my question that I am condemned? As far as salvation is concerned, Harold, you need to trust in the Messiah to be saved. Not just being born a Jew will get you to heaven. It will make you a part of this plan on the earth for this special people that you’re a part of.

I can I follow it up with just a first question? Sure, go ahead. much has been discussed on the air on tv everything and they always refer to it as a judayo christian culture have you heard of that i have so many times all right question if they’re basing it on a judayo christian culture and the bible with jewish is it the old testament there has to be some kind of a Well, it’s contradicting. Why should you be facing anything on the Old Testament if it’s false?

And those people, like Jews and myself, we reject Christ. Why did he even include that? I never have quite really understood that, except that, of course, we believe all the Bible, the Old End and New Testaments alike. And we have the beginnings or the foretellings of what would happen in the New Testament in the Old. Certainly the life of Christ was foretold from Genesis on. Some of the wonderful passages in Isaiah talk about his birth that a virgin would conceive and bear a son.

This child would be Emmanuel or God dwelling with us. Isaiah 9.6 says that the child that would be born would be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. that he would rule one day and the government of the world would be upon his shoulder as he would sit ruling upon the throne of David over the whole earth. And it says the zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this. So this is something that is definitely still going to happen that God has promised will take place and we certainly believe that we are getting closer to that now as we see the Jewish people back in the Middle East, back in the promised land.

He said, but so much is said about the Jewish, the Judeo-Christian by people like, shall we say, Rod Parsley, all these on the Deaving Broadcasting Network. And they don’t mention this. What you’re telling me, they don’t say that. They don’t say that, you know, and if you don’t accept Jesus as your Savior, you’re condemned. They never use that expression. I know it in this tragic and I think that there are many false teachers out there and Rod Parsley is certainly one of those I believe that is a false teacher and most of them that do this health, wealth and prosperity thing where you send your money in and you’re going to just be filthy rich when you get done is because they steal the promises to Israel which are earthly and apply them to us which we have our promises as heavenly in Christ.

But the earthly promises of Israel will still come to pass but they are stealing them away. They don’t like the curses given to Israel but they like the promises and they manipulate that to their advantage and I believe are ripping people off and stealing their money. Well I tell you something I respect you for saying that because they’ll always find a passage in the Bible where it has to do with send me your money and I’ll get you out of bankruptcy and I will do this and I will do that and that’s why I respect you for telling me the truth how you interpret it.

You are the one that really interprets the Bible, not leaving broadcasting. Every time you turn around they’re looking to save everybody but. I know it. Thank you, Harold. We got to come up on break here. We got to go. I want to wish all your believers out there are Mary Christmurs and you take care of yourself. Thanks a lot now Harold, and we’ll be right back after this short break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment.

And if you can’t get the second half because your station maybe doesn’t carry but one half hour of Bibleline, go to the Internet and you’ll catch the full program. Here we go Biblelin 2. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. 576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr.

Hank Lindstrom. Alright, and we’re through the break, and this is Bible, and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. From our studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor, and we look forward to being with you each and every day. By the way, this coming Sunday, the 17th of December, would be a great Sunday to come visit if you’re in the area, maybe from out of town or if you live in the area, we’re going to have our Christmas service in the morning at 10.30.

And then we’re going to have a wonderful Christmas dinner following. Wow, what a feast it will be. It’ll be a great time of coming together as Christians to celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ into this world. And then on the 24th of December, we’ll have a service Christmas Eve at 10pm, a special candle lighting service with the Lord’s Supper, and what a wonderful way to bring in the Christmas day the next morning. And so come and join us on December 24, Sunday night at 10pm, and join us for a special Christmas Eve Candlelight Service and that will be 10 p.m.

December 24, Sunday evening, the day before Christmas, Christmas Eve, 10 p.m. We’d love to have you come and on the 17th this Sunday in the evening our youth will put on a special play that was written by one of our young people. I believe you’ll enjoy it. It is really a wonderful presentation. So you’re welcome to come. By the way, we are on television tomorrow and you can see us on more television in the morning at 8 o’clock in the Tampa Bay area.

At 6.30 you can watch us on direct TV, nationwide, and that’s channel 321 World Harvest Television and then at 7 on the Christian television network that’s at 7 p.m. tomorrow evening. And again, we ask if you would consider at Christmas here giving a special Christmas gift to Bibleline. And that would help us to make sure that we take care of all of our outstanding bills for this year, enter the new year with nothing outstanding. And you know, a lot of people make a shopping list.

They put their nephews, their nieces, their grandchildren, their children, and brothers and sisters, or moms and pops and aunts and uncles on the list. But Jesus doesn’t seem to make the list. And can you imagine going to a birthday party, giving gifts to all the people that come to the party but no gift to the one whose birthday it is. It is Christ’s birthday and the wise men certainly got it right. They brought all of their gifts to Christ.

Today, somehow we’ve slipped away from giving to Jesus whose birthday it is and we wind up exchanging with each other and it’s not our birthday. It’s his birthday. Have you thought about giving a gift to Christ? And could you consider giving a gift to Bible line as a way of giving a gift to Christ and helping Bibleline at this time to finish out the year with nothing outstanding in that we might have a wonderful year to look forward to bringing Bibleline to you on radio, on television and on the internet and all the different ways that we reach out.

That would be wonderful. And we certainly do thank you in advance. And Merry Christmas to you, your family and others. And again, if you’re able to do so, this Sunday would be a great Sunday to come. Be my guest, a great dinner right after the morning 1030 service at noon. lunch dinner and plenty of food. Great time of fellowship. You’ll have a great time, I know, and I’d love to have you come and be a part of that. We are leaving for Israel March 12th on Monday, coming back on the 23rd of Friday.

Love to have you go with me. Trip number 14 will be baptizing in the Jordan will be observing the Lord’s Supper right next to the Hill of Calvary looking over at the Tomb of Christ. We’ll be walking where Jesus walked and will be experiencing the Bible. He’s a great writer. He’s a great writer. He’s a great writer. He’s a great writer. You’ll have a wonderful time. Call and get the literature sent to you or go online to BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on the home page and download all the information about the trip.

And we need to have you make your decision soon now as we’re getting closer and closer. This is the time to make up your mind as soon as possible. to facilitate everything. Well, I’m Dr. Englund Sherman. This is Bible Islander. Our phone number here is 1-800-576-3771. And we have callers from all over tons of unfair questions that we need to answer. So we’re going to go first to Tony in Richmond, Virginia. Tony, welcome up to Bible Island. How are you, Dr.

Hank? Good. Jesus is lowered. Amen. All right. I have a couple of questions. Go for it. Two of them really. About the, there was a Jewish guy they called earlier and he made a comment about the rock partially. Yes. There’s a lot of these television ministries how they are always selecting for their funds. And I was reminded, I think of a passage I read. I’m not sure if it was an other day or where it was in the Old Testament about how we are to bless the nation.

Is there going to be a little bless us for that? That’s true. Can you expound on that for me? Sure. In Genesis 12, 3, it says, I’ll bless them that bless thee, and I’ll curse them that curse thee. So there’s a blessing for those that will bless Israel, and there’s a curse upon those that will curse Israel. And that is still standing, and certainly is absolutely true. So we in fact are told in Psalms to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

And by the way, as the peace of Jerusalem goes, so goes the peace of the world. If Jerusalem is a peace, the world is a peace, and obviously Jerusalem is not a peace right now, and the world certainly is not a peace, but it will really only have peace. When Jesus comes, the Prince of Peace, and when he brings peace to Jerusalem, then peace will flow like a river, Isaiah says, to the ends of the world. So definitely we ought to pray for Israel and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Okay, and of course, the tithing and blessings and all of us, since by which you just said, wouldn’t it make more sense to use our money to bless Israel? Well, certainly to help those where there really are needs, these other things I think our money-making schemes, but to give to the Lord’s work and to assist where people are poor or need is a much greater need. Very well. Thank you, Dr. Hank. I want to say one more comment, one more comment.

Okay. This is just to the listeners that are listening. Take those stinky, stupid, idolatry, static and snowmen and blow up dolls out of your yards, out of your house, and be blessed. Alright, you know Santa seems as replaced Christ at Christmas. And when you think about it, if you take the word Santa and you slide the letter N to the end, look at what it spells. Satan, there’s probably more to that than just a coincidence. I think so. We have Barry in Suffolk, Virginia.

Welcome to my life. Yes sir. Good and thank you for calling in. How can we help you? Oh yes sir I will adopt it. Sure go ahead. You’re on the air. Okay yes sir I will just call in the reference to the young man and call speaking about Rod positive and I will just like the time I’m a minister myself and I just thank God for Jesus for the reason being and do the Ramen in the 28th chapter he starts with the first team verse and he tell us how we will be blurred 15th to the 50th numbers he tell us how we’ll be cursed and if people would really study that then they’ll know that you won’t have to do a lot of these things a lot of these preaches are telling you because you will be blessed you know TV and tell you send

send you have to live and God requires them that okay if I just send my money to and get a prayer. He’s the only one and I just thank God for men like you that you are afraid to stand and expose regardless who they are. White, black, green or yellow. It doesn’t make any difference when I think in this last day I’ve been telling people for two years. Jesus himself is soon to come back and I thank a lot of this stuff.

We need men and women to stand flat for it and proclaim the word of God. And when we do do that, people will catch on because we don’t have to change the gospel. But the gospel is not a good thing. will make people change and I thank you so much. Amen, great comment and I love Deuteronomy 28, it’s a great passage that you suggested for us to read. We now have Doug in Pensacola, Florida and Doug, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the ear.

Hey, Duard, brother Lancestrom. Good morning. I got so excited hearing that fellow from Queens of New York, your Jewish friend. Yeah. I want to take a minute and tell them something. I’m from the western New York area and I got saved 23 years ago when I was 46. I This coming year I’ll be 70 years old. I have never been sorry. I’m just as excited about Jesus Christ now as I was then. And here’s what I wanted to tell him.

He was talking about confusion between the old and new Testament. Here is the way I try to explain it to people. It’s my own little method. If you took a photograph, all right, and you took one of these old cameras and you, you know, And you took the negative, and you told the negative out of that thing, and it would be dark. You couldn’t see anything. It’d be unclear. And then gradually it became clear and clear. And he was aided, so the Old Testament are examples and shadows.

So when the teacher comes out of that camera and it develops, then you begin to see it. Corinthians says, now we see it darkly, but then face to face. It says in Romans 11 that the blindness in part has happened to Israel. So all of Israel is not saved right now, but as Preacher said, it will be saved. I have no contradiction in any of this, and I would ask him if he would in all goodness to his heart look at Isaiah 53 5 and ask himself who are they talking about when they say, but he was wounded for our transgression.

He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastised with our peace with upon him and with his strikes. We are healed. We read the first five verses of Isaiah 53 and with all honesty of heart and receptive to the Holy Spirit would ask himself, who is this man? He would come to know the Messiah. I’m going to get up here and thank you so much, brother. God bless you. All right. Thank you, Doug, in Pinsicle of Florida and how true that is.

And Harold knows we tell him quite plainly on the air and all fear that he needs to to trust Jesus in order to be saved, that no one will enter heaven apart from Jesus Christ. We’re praying for his salvation as he claims to be a Jewish atheist. I think he’s getting closer personally in my opinion. I pray that he is. Certainly he enjoys Bibleline and he’s listening and obviously taking in what is being said. We trust that the Lord will open his eyes and he might trust Jesus as Savior.

We have Edgar in Petersburg, Virginia and Edgar. Welcome to Bibleline. First of all, Dr. Hank, Tony in Rome, Tony in Rome, New York called last Wednesday about remarring after his wife perpetrated adultery on him and repudiated him. You said… You said he can remember, but it’s only biblically listed for him to re-espouse, only if his first wife be dead, albeit he is the innocent party, correct? No, he… No, he can remarry. According to Matthew 19, Christ said that it’s actually God doesn’t like the wars, but if there is adultery, the innocent party can remarry.

Oh, I know I read and I think it’s somewhere about that the wife is only released from that law I thought that was you are only cases you are released and can remarry after death as well But if there be divorce 19 19 read that passage Christ said that you can divorce if there has been unfaithfulness Okay on the part of the other party Okay, and you don’t have to let’s just say my wife committed adultery on me I don’t have to wait to see die to remarry.

That’s great But she can’t remarry until I die is that the case also that’s probably the case. Yes, okay? All right, thank you, dr. Hank. All right. That was Edgar in Richmond, Virginia We have David in Richmond, Virginia. David, welcome to Bibleline. Yes, good morning. Mr. Nastron. You’re on the air. Yes, it was a great pleasure in hearing how come back on the radio and Harold, excuse me. But listen, up here in Richmond, we’re having a big problem with your program because two or three days a week your program is interrupted and then all of a sudden they played your introduction again and rebroadcast your first thirty minutes.

Oh my goodness I didn’t know that. If the answers don’t tell us we wouldn’t know. Yes and all of a sudden everybody in the missionary they picks it up on WGGL. It goes off and I like right now I’m listening to your first thirty minutes but usually we get sixty minutes up here but we don’t hear it all. Well I need to know what days that happens on if If you could keep a log for me because I’m going to complain and we’ll try to get that resolved and certainly call the station up there and tell them that this is not acceptable.

Yes, and I called the station yesterday. Had to leave a message for the manager, but he had never called me back. Well, thanks for letting us know. If any of our stations, if there’s problems in the hearing of Bible, let us know so we can be informed. You’re our ears. And another thing about it is this is the only program that seemed to be interrupted You know the only one that’s being interrupted. They only have no problem with no other Program on this station except for Bible and well, I think the devil doesn’t like Bible and I’m sure that’s broad that could be it.

Well, thank you David for letting us know and we’ll try to See if we can’t urge them to get that corrected. Yes, okay, then all right Thank you David and we’ve heard that several times now from people that in the Richmond area are hearing repeated in the second half hour of the first half hour that is certainly one thing we need to get corrected for you listeners up there in Richmond. We are now going to go to an off-air question.

We have Calvin in Newport, Ritchie, Florida. He says, is one of the qualifications for the Antichrist to be a Jew. In Daniel 1137 it says he would be Jewish and not respect the God of his followers. What do you think? Probably he will have Jewish blood in his veins. There’s a possibility that he may come out of the tribe of Dan that is hinted at in Genesis 49 where we have Isaac giving a prophecy over his twelve sons, things that would happen in the latter days.

It seems like Dan becomes the serpent tribe and is the one that attacks the Messiah. That may be the case. We’ll just have to wait and seek, Calvin, but yes, he may be Jewish and he may be having blood from the tribe of Dan. It seems like in the tribulation when you have 12 tribes and 12,000 from each tribe being the witnesses, 144,000 Jewish men doing the evangelism, the tribe of Dan is left out of that list. Joseph who got a double blessing, his two sons get an opportunity to be counted there and Dan is left out because perhaps the Antichrist will come out of the tribe of Dan.

But yet in the Millennial Kingdom, Dan again is restored and is able to be a part of that thousand year reign of Christ in one of the twelve tribes that will be there under Christ leadership during the Millennial Kingdom. So interesting thought and Calvin, I hope that helps answer that for you. Julia in New York calls in and she says, who was Jesus speaking to when he said, whose sins you shall be forgiven and whose sins you shall be retained.

That’s in John’s Gospel, chapter 20. He’s speaking to his disciples, but Julia, this is true for all believers. The power is in the Gospel. And Peter, among those that Christ spoke to, certainly never said that he could forgive sins with disregard to Christ, Peter tells us in Acts 4 and verse 12, neither is there salvation in any other speaking of Christ. And he says, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby you must be saved.

So salvation comes through faith in Christ. Peter again tells us in Acts 10, 43 to Yeshua or Jesus, they have all the prophets’ witness that through his name, the name of Jesus, whosoever believeth in him shall receive the remission of their sins. So basically, I have the power to forgive sins as I bring the message of the gospel and a person believes that message. I can tell them on the authority of God’s Word that their sins are forgiven. If I bring the gospel to someone and they reject Christ, I can tell them on the authority of God’s Word that their sins are retained.

That they will not be saved. They will not go to heaven. But if they trust Christ, I can tell them, yes indeed, you will go to heaven. And so the power is in the gospel message that you and I have to bring to those that are lost and that same power to be exercised today. But it’s not to be exercised independently of Christ’s death and shed blood at the cross. We cannot forgive sin just because we want to forgive sin.

We have to tell them the message of how God forgives sins through Christ and when they believe that message they become forgiven. Thank you. Tathy in parish Florida calls in and says, is there any evidence that the early church believed that the Lord’s Supper was actually the blood and the body of Christ? Answer is no. A family member stated recently that this was the case up until the time of Luther. That is certainly not true at all. If you read 1 Corinthians 11, Christ speaks about the Lord’s Supper and the elements that He says, as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, no reference that the bread becomes anything but bread.

It’s symbolic. And the juice in the cup never became anything but that juice. And you’ll see that repeated several times. Read 1 Corinthians 11, Kathy, and I think you’ll see that certainly the Scriptures make it clear that it was clearly understood that the elements were simply symbolic, that they they did not become transformed. That is Roman Catholic theology, and we believe is wrong. It’s called in Catholic theology the doctrine of transubstantiation, where they say the elements are transformed into the actual body and blood of Christ.

I reject that as being false that cannot be supported by Scripture. Thank you, Kathy, in parish Florida. We have John in St. Petersburg and John, welcome to my one. You’re on the earth. God bless you, Dr. Hank. Let me ask you a question. Something that you said last week and I didn’t write the verse down where it says that every person is a son of God and I thought you said first? Well, it doesn’t say every person is a son of God, but it says in John 1.12 to as many as received Christ to them God gave authority to become the sons of God.

Right, is it first John or John one twelve? Regular John one twelve. Okay, and then one more question. You speak about DL Moody, a Bible Institute, thinking statement. It said, if you’re going to take these courses you should believe in the doctrine and follow the doctrine. And that’s a Calvinistic doctrine. And I wondered what your thoughts were about that. Well I disagree with Calvinism as it is generally presented because it gives us no choice at all. And I don’t think D.L.

Moody believed that. D.L. Moody himself said the Whosoever wills are the elect and the Whosoever won’t so the none elect. So, but Calvinism has creeped in into a lot of places and has kind of taken the front seat. That’s why I called you because you say that statement all the time and I was saying, geez, that didn’t seem to me like deal. Moody would be a countless because I hear Dr. Hacks saying that statement all the time, but then when you write for the course they said, you should believe this doctrine and profess this doctrine.

So that was my question then. I want to thank you for doing such a wonderful job. Well, thank you, I’ve launched on. And unfortunately, a lot of times institutions don’t follow the teachings of their founders and we all get embarrassed when that happens. And thank you for that call, John in St. Petersburg. We’re getting toward the end of the program here, and I hope you’re enjoying Bibleline. And again, we’d like to ask you to consider at Christmas time here, giving a special gift to Bibleline, and that would certainly be a blessing to us and enable us to make sure that we don’t enter the new year owing anything to anyone.

We also are offering today a Christmas special for a donation of $100. We’ll send out how 20 of the How Permanent Salvation CDs. These are great evangelistic tools. Many, many, many. Also the handbook on personal evangelism, a special DVD, with a salvation message that you can play for family and friends during the holidays at different gatherings, and then five of my articles, which will be effective along the same line.

If you’ll call into our operators and say the Christmas special for a gift of $100, We’ll send all that out about $150 value and I believe you will be really blessed as you give out the gospel during the Christmas holidays. This is a great time to evangelize. But I want to thank you in advance for your prayers and for your gifts. If you could give a special gift to my blind, a Christmas gift at this time, that would also be a real blessing.
