The simple gospel message is being corrupted every day by the use of terms or phrases that Christians use to invite the lost to be saved. These terms demand or imply that human works or human effort is a part of the plan of salvation! Biblical salvation is wholly of the Lord and is “Not of works, lest anyone may boast (Ephesians 2:9)”.

Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you. Every day Monday through Friday, Tuesday, and we’re glad to be able to come to you live from our studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and thanks for tuning in today.

Tonight, we’re teaching class 5 and 6 of the series in-time controversies, and this is a great series. of fun and we’ve got six hours to go to tonight, class five and six next week, seven and eight, and then the following week, nine and ten, then you’ll be able to get the series on CD or DVD of the series called End Time Controversies. You know, Peter tells us in 2 Peter, chapter three, that in the end times there would be those that would come along and deny the return of Christ, where is the promise of His coming?
It’s amazing how people can buy into a line. Peter named it, nailed it on the head. The Bible clearly teaches that Christ is coming again and soon. And of course those who say He’s not coming, really don’t say He’s not coming. They say He comes after this millennium which really doesn’t exist, but at the end of time there will be a general resurrection of the dead and that’s when Christ comes. And of course that isn’t even true. The Bible separates the resurrections by a thousand years.
Revelation 20 and verse 5, it says the rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years were finished. So obviously there’s a thousand years between the first resurrection and the second resurrection. In any case, we’re glad that you’ve tuned in today. We hope you’ll be able to come out to the class tonight if you’re in driving distance or call in and get it on the internet anywhere in the world and hopefully also you’ll be catching Bible items often as you can and we hope you’ll check out our online bookstore and take a look at the resources that we have.
We’ve got some exciting things that will help you in learning your Bible. One of those of course at the top of the list I believe is the Scofield Reference Bible, the Old Scofield. We have it. It’s harder and harder to get. I think this is a part of the End Times, too, that some of the good materials that have been around are going. We have the Lewisbury Shafer Systematic Theology Set. Those are getting scarcer than Hins’ teeth and also they’re disappearing.
Shafer founded the Dallas Theological Seminary and now his own seminary doesn’t use his books any longer, and I think that means they will probably go off the shelf, which is really too bad. We have a lot of his individual books. We have his book called Satan, his motives, and so on, his devices. Powerful, powerful book. I am one of the best books I have ever written or I have ever read, written on Satan by Louis Beerschafer. We have his book on Salvation, excellent book.
He that is spiritual about the Christian life, really one of the best presentations I have seen. Those books are great. We’ve got a number of them, but they’re getting harder to get. We have his book on grace, one of the best explanations of grace and how we see grace in the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. Wonderful, wonderful book. Lewis Ferri-Shafer obviously was a one of a kind, and we have his systematic theology, a four-volume set and it is a wonderful asset to anybody who has a library who’s building up for the serious Bible student who wants to learn the Bible.
We’ve also got many other things by Dr. Charles Ryrie. I love him. His books are great. We have his basic theology. That’s a winner. Has all kinds of great… information when you need it it’s there and also his books on revelation, the Holy Spirit and many others they’re really good. In any case we’re excited about offering CDs and DVDs of my teachings and a lot of people like that book of Revelation 12 hours we also have many other books of the New Testament including the book of Jude, the book of Hebrews, the book of Romans and we have of course topics like the Rapture of God, the Bible and the Bible.
sure. The Holy Spirit parables how to lead souls to Christ balancing the Christian life. All of these series are going to be able to aid you in your Christian growth and we recommend them highly. Just call. Our footers will be glad to explain what might best meet your need and also be able to help you in your ordering of these things. We can send you a resource sheet. You can also look on the internet at Bibleline ministries, not ORG.
And there you’ll find a on the online bookstore all the things we’ve been talking about right there for you. We’re going to talk about the Bible for a little bit and then we’re going to go ahead and take calls. If you want to call in the phone number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call. We’d love to hear from you. We’re going to take all fair questions and on our questions and maybe you have one. If you haven’t given a gift to help Bibleline this month of May, would you send a gift by mail or would you give a gift by credit card over the phone call?
Our operators will be glad to assist you. They’ll send you an envelope with our address on it or you can give a gift by credit card. Your help is obviously absolutely necessary because without your help we could not be on the year. It is our listeners who are the ones that are our partners who allow Bibleline to stay on the air every day. Thank you and advance God bless you all of you who pray and all of you who give to Bible line ministries.
You know the Gospel message is such a simple message that people just think it has to be more than that. And so they add to it and many times it’s because they add verses that deal with the doctrine of discipleship to the doctrine of salvation. That’s why you oftentimes will hear a preacher give an invitation. I want you tonight to follow Christ, to take up his cross and to forsake all and so on and so on and so on.
Well, all of those things I just mentioned are not the gospel. All of those things that I just mentioned in that suggested invitation that some preachers I have heard give is really all about the Christian life. To be a disciple you must follow Christ. To be a disciple you must be willing to forsake all. To be a disciple you must forsake all and take up his cross and on and on. But to be saved you do nothing but trust in what Jesus Christ has already done for you.
Romans 4-5, one of my favorites, it says, but to him that worketh not. Think about it. It says, but to him that worketh not. I’ll never forget the first time I read that verse. I said, am I reading this? My background was I was raised in a church that taught works. I said to myself, this can’t be so. Romans 4, 5, but to him that worked if not, but believeth on him Christ that justified the ungodly us. His faith in Christ is counted for righteousness.
In other words, when you trust Christ, God saves you. But it’s not based upon your works, to him that does not work at all, him that worked if not, but believeth on him that justify the ungodly, your faith in Christ is what is counted for the righteousness you need to be able to enter heaven. Amazing how many people get that wrong. The majority of what is called Christianity gets it wrong. I would say probably 90% of Christianity is a counterfeit.
And that would mean 90% probably of those Christian leaders are counterfeits. Jesus warned about false teachers. And how do you detect one? Not by the way they look or the way they dress. You can’t look and see 666 on their four heads. A false teacher is going to be an apparent angel of light. over in second Corinthians 11 tells us Satan is an angel of life. Therefore, it is no He has the truth of the Scriptures and gives the Scripture a real prayer.
These things will always be constant. And in other words, they teach righteousness. Satan’s clever. He knows that if he told you the way to go to heaven is to go out and rob and kill and steal and rape, nobody would buy him to that. Satan knows that your works won’t save you. So, he says keep the commandments. Go to church. Turn over a new leaf, be a good person, pray, read your Bible, all of those things. Satan knows if you are trusting in those things to get you to heaven.
You won’t go. Because the Bible says salvation is to him that does not work, but him that puts their trust in Jesus Christ who alone can save you, and your faith then in Christ is accounted for righteousness. Romans 3.28 says, therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law, without the deeds of the law, without the deeds of the law. In other words, there’s dozens and dozens of verses that tell us that were justified by faith without works.
Where would one of those be? Well, I just quoted it. Romans 3.28, therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without, without, without the deeds of the law. 4-5, another one. Faith without works. It says to him that does not work, but believeth on him that justified him, God of the, his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. The believer is the one that goes to heaven, the unbeliever to hell. John 3-36, the words of John the Baptist, he says he to believeth on the sun has everlasting life, but he He to believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
No wonder John was one of the greatest of the prophets, as Jesus said. He made it so clear you can’t possibly misunderstand what he said. He said if you believe or trust on Christ you have present tense everlasting life. But if you don’t believe on Christ, then you will not see life but the wrath of God abides on you. Kind of scary, the unsafe person right now has God’s wrath abiding upon them. Should they die in unbelief without trusting Christ, then the wrath of God will fall upon them.
And they’ll be cast into the everlasting lake of fire where they’ll be tormented day and night forever and ever and ever. My friend, you don’t want to wind up in hell. There’s no need for you to wind up in hell because the salvation that the Bible offers is offered to all men, women and children, all or whosoever would believe or trust in Christ would not perish but have everlasting life. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. Unless you do, there is no way that you’ll enter heaven.
That’s right. is no way that you’ll enter heaven. Why? Because Christ said I’m the way, I’m the truth, I’m the life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by me. In other words, there’s no way to get to heaven unless you trust Christ who is the way to heaven. John 14, 6, I hope you’re not trusting in another way because guess what? It’s a dead in street. Have you had that happen to you, you’re driving along, you make a turn, and all of a sudden that street is a dead end.
Wow. Sometimes you say, what a waste of time. I drove all the way down the street and it just dead ends. There’s no way out. That’s what happens to the unbeliever. Any way that you choose other than Christ is a dead end street. It really winds up in hell for you. You don’t want that to happen to you. I want and I pray that you would trust Christ and discover the eternal life, the gift of God that God offers through faith in Christ.
And that alone is the means of your salvation. I’m Dr. Henglands from Mrs. Bible. We’re going to go ahead and go to the phone lines. We hope that you’ll call us if you have a question and we would love to hear from you. 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. This is Tuesday. we have classes. If you’re driving this, come on out and join us. If you live in any other part of the world and you’re listening to the Bible, you can call and sign up, get the passcode for this class.
You can go back and watch the classes that have already transpired and catch the classes tonight live or check about tomorrow or anytime in the future that you want. Once you get the passcode, you’ll be able to watch all 10 classes as often as you like tonight. It’ll be class 5 and six we hope you’ll be here in the classroom or tuning in on your computer. Welcome to the class in time controversy. We have Jerry in Zephyr Hills, Florida and Jerry, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Yes, sir, Bob, right? One question. Is there anything left on God’s prophetic title? I don’t know if you can hear the rapture and occur in the second question that he has in the Bible. It talks about these one four out of the spirit of the front of all flash in the last days. But then you also read that. to man for going to wax coal. Do you see that you’re revising in glam before the rapture or is that all going to take place after the rest?
Alright, first of all on that question, when the Holy Spirit is poured out upon all flesh, that is at the second coming, seven years after the rapture, when all the unbelievers on the face of the earth are slaughtered, the Bible says that Christ will come back and crush them with his feet and he’ll stomp upon them. We sing that song on occasion, the battle of him and the Republic. A lot of people love that song, but it’s all about this event.
It says that the lightning of his terrible swift sword is released and he is trampling out the grapes of wrath while it’s talking about the biblical story when Christ comes back that he will crush unbelievers and the blood will flow out of their bodies and in the Middle East the Bible says a river will be formed 200 miles long as deep as the horse is bridal. Human blood as Christ crushes the unsafe. Only believers will enter into the thousand year reign of Christ and at that point the The Holy Spirit is poured out upon all flesh.
Is there anything to right now have to happen before the Rapture? The answer is no. The Rapture could happen at any time. I believe that when it does happen, whatever year it happens, it will probably happen on the Feast of Trumpets. This year I believe that September 12th. So you might want to keep an eye on that date. I believe that whatever year he comes, that’s a date setter, but whatever year he comes, I believe he will be right on that day when he comes because of the literalness of the feast days being prophetic pictures of biblical events and the first four feasts that God gave in Leviticus 23 were fulfilled at the first coming of Christ.
The next feast representing the next event which is the Rapture will happen, I believe, right on the money, right on the day. So that’s the day that I’m looking for Christ to return whatever year he comes. saying he’s coming this year but he could. It would not be something but nothing else has to be fulfilled to have him come for sure. Thank you Jerry and we appreciate that call and that was from Zephyr Hills Florida. We now have David in St.
Petersburg. David, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Yes, I have a question. Okay. Well, maybe it’s a question I’ll let you decide. Is it wrong? Like you got to offer this if a job or witness or or 70s then it comes to your door and you go, you say when they leave God bless or God speed, that’s wrong, right? Say that one again when Joseph’s witness comes? Not just a joke of witness but anybody that knows false abutist or…
Yeah, we don’t want to say God speed or God bless you or anything to endorse or approve of their false message because then it says in 2nd John verse 11 that you become partaker of their evil deeds. Oh good, I’m glad you put it that way. Because my next question is related. I’m glad you just, that’s the perfect segue. Because if you’re giving support, I’m sorry if I interrupted you abruptly. That’s right. Because that thing you said was perfect.
If it’s just saying God bless you, is giving support to someone at your door that you turn away, how much more evil is it or wrong or partakers of their sin If you support a candidate that comes to your door who you know supports or doesn’t think that’s evil partial birth abortion like a Clinton overturned a law that would have made it illegal now That’s almost a dead issue now as far because that’s been approved good to bite You know, that’s another thing But if you support a candidate that supports such evil even if he does or doesn’t he’s incapable He may support that legislatively.
He said at least he proved he has I’ll get too convoluted here The point is just talking to someone at your door is supporting them saying God bless you. How much more evil it is when you help narrowly elect somebody that you know supports some kind of abomination of that. What I like to do is I don’t say I approve of what you’re saying or doing or God bless you, but I usually point out that they’re wrong. For example, the witnesses when they come to my door, I tell them that you’re not going to heaven nor are you going to the new earth.
But unless you change your mind about Christ, you’re going to go to a place that you don’t even believe in. They don’t believe in hell, but they’re going to wind up in the everlasting lake of fire because they have rejected. God’s coming to the earth and human flesh as our Savior and reject the deity of Christ. And if you reject Christ’s deity, the Bible says you are not going to be saved. John 824, Jesus said, if you believe not that I am, and that is God’s personal name, that Jesus is claiming to be God.
He says, you’re going to die in your sin. So tell him that you’re lost. And I think that’s what we ought to do. And I found that I was really not that very effective in leaving Joel’s witnesses to Christ until I was very, very straight with him and saying, look, you are believing wrong and you will not make heaven unless you receive Christ as your Savior. And in 2nd John that we’re just talking about there in verse 9, it says, if you don’t abide in the doctrine of Christ, you don’t even have God.
So the Job’s Witnesses according to the Bible are godless because they don’t even have God if they reject Christ and the doctrine of Christ that He’s God who came and took on human flesh to pay for sin. Thank you for that call and appreciate that. We now have Benjamin in Clearwater. Benjamin, welcome to Bibleline your own here. Good morning, Dr. Han. One is the only 44 thou a day get killed in the tribulation. The answer is yes, they are all preaching during the first three and a half years of the tribulation period and they are martyred by the time of the middle of the tribulation.
In chapter 14 of Revelation we see them in heaven during the second half of the tribulation period and then they sing a song that only they know and are able to sing and it tells us more information about them. Not only are they Jewish but they are all men and they are all virgin men. So someone would ever come to your door and claim to be one of the hundred forty thousand they would have to be Jewish, they would have to be male in sex and they would have to be a virgin male.
And obviously these are people that will get saved after we leave at the rapture. They’re going to be God’s witnesses during the tribulation period and yes they all will be martyred and they’ll all be in heaven by the second half of the tribulation period. And they are not belong to the Georgia. Absolutely not. But then they come alive again to stay in the millenew. That’s right. Okay. So thank you very much, Benjamin. That’s basically in a nutshell. You know, the church began at Pentecost, did not exist in the Old Testament, and will end at the rapture.
And the seven years, during which the Pentatephord of a thousand will appear, are actually the the last seven years of the Old Testament that still have to tick off the clock, it’s called Daniel’s 70th week. This is so important to understand. It’s the backbone of prophecy to recognize that the Old Testament age is yet to conclude, and it hasn’t concluded yet, but the seven years of tribulation, which by the way, the commentary on that is chapters 4 through 19 of the book of Revelation.
He describes those seven years and what will take place as the Old Testament age ends and it ends with two Old Testament prophets coming back Moses and Elijah who will preach during the first three and a half years of that seven years and it’s all Old Testament back to life here ahead of us after the rapture. All right we have some off here questions we’ll try to take one of those right now Jeff and doesn’t need any Florida calls in and says he went to a Bible study and a group prayed for his hurting back.
A woman spoke up and said, it won’t work unless you receive the healing. Is this right to do? Is this valid? And of course not. I think he went to the wrong Bible study and you’re with the wrong group. God does not necessarily promise that you will be healed in this life. If you’re a believer, you’re going to get a perfect body to enter heaven with. That body will never experience pain, disease, illness, sickness, anything like that. There’ll be no sorrow, no tears.
That’s gonna be a wonderful day. But right now, no that is not true. I believe in divine healing, but I don’t believe in divine healers, and I also don’t believe it’s always God’s will for someone to be healed. Paul himself was made sick by God on purpose to give him humble. He prayed three times for healing, and God said no three times. Paul’s friend Timothy that he led to Christ had stomach problems and why didn’t he heal him? He had the power to heal, he was an apostle, but he didn’t, he said, take a little wine for your often’s stomachs and firmities.
And so he recommended a little bit of wine would help with his stomach problems, but he didn’t heal him. Interesting. And a number of other Paul’s friends were sick and even died and yet Paul did not heal them. It’s not God’s will for everybody to be healed. This is one of the big errors of the healing movement. They believe that Christ died for your diseases as well as your sins and they try to say that you can claim healing any time because he’s already paid for those or at the cross provided for your healing.
That’s not true. Alright, we’re already having a lot more questions coming up here but we are coming up on our break we hope that you’ll tune us in again uh… tomorrow and uh… we hope that you’ll tune in the second half hour which is coming up in just a moment we’re going to take a short break will come back into a second half hour by one so stay tuned we’ll be right back don’t go away by the line will be back in a moment give us a call at one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one that’s one eight hundred five seven six thirty seven seventy one I’m Dr.
Anglins from this is Bible and it’s wonderful to be with you and I want to thank all of you who listen and those who pray and those that give the Bible and my friend you are the hero. You’re the one who keeps these programs going. Everybody that’s listening ought to applaud you because it is your partnership with Bible and that makes these programs possible. You haven’t given a gift for the month of May. Would you consider mailing in a gift to Bible and or calling in and giving a gift by credit card over the phone.
It is your gifts that make this program possible. We don’t have any other source of income. We don’t have a piggy bank, we don’t have a reserve account, we don’t have subscribers or pledges, we have just our listeners. And the Lord obviously is the supplier. He raises up people just like you who enjoy the program and would like to see it continue and to reach out even further. We’re excited about a new opportunity. We’re going to be going shortly on the short wave over the whole continent of Africa.
We’re preparing those programs as we speak and we’re excited about that opportunity. That won’t cost us anything. Thank God. But a lot of the stations, it costs quite a bit to be on the air and we know that without your help we could not be on the air. And Thank God for all of you who listen, who pray and give to Bible and because you are the ones who make it possible for us to be on the air. I hope that you’ll take advantage of all the things we have going.
We have the website which has so many resources for you to be able to learn and study the Bible. We have our online bookstore where we have so many things that can also help our aid you. Let me tell you, one of the best investments you can have is a good reference Bible and the Scofield, I believe, is the best around. You want to get the old, not the new. They’re getting more difficult to get, but we still have them available to our listeners here at our online bookstore.
Just give us a call. Our operators will be able to help you or go to the internet to BibleLineMinistries.org or .com. And there you’ll find pictures and descriptions of all the things that we have. We can also mail that list out to you if you’d like it in print. But we hope that we can be a blessing to you. And we always try to answer your questions as quickly as we can get to them. And we hope that you’ll cause when you have a question.
And we’ll be glad to try to answer it on the air live or off air. If you go to the website and you get our radio pages, a place right there already established for you to type in your question. And it gets to us rather quickly. Once you’ve completed filling out your question, hit submit and boom. We’ve got it here at Bible and Headquarters. Hope it’ll be a blessing to you. We are going to join the stations now that have been on break into the second half of Bible and so keep your radiot.
Right where it’s at and stay tuned we’re going to do the second half hour right now. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break and this is Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. It’s so exciting. I’m excited to be able to be with you every day and God bless you.
Thank you for tuning in and I want to thank all of you who write us notes of encouragement. You don’t realize how much that means to us. We don’t know that we’re blessing unless you tell us and we do appreciate those notes, cards, and letters that come in and say, hey, keep it up. Thank God for you. I’m learning so much. I got saved or whatever. It’s just been wonderful to have that encouragement coming in here on a regular basis.
We appreciate so much all of you who are our listeners. We are listeners supported and if you haven’t given a gift to Bible and for the month of May, would you consider giving a gift by sending it to Bible and by mail or calling in and sending it by credit card over the phone. That’s right. If you want an envelope with our address printed on it, just call it an operational to send you that address and that’ll help facilitate your mailing gift to my boy but we are totally dependent upon you the listener and without your help we couldn’t really produce these programs.
Tonight we have the class 5 and 6 of Endtime Controversy. If you’re in the area you’re welcome to come out and join in on that class and if not then you can not call in and subscribe to the class get the passcode and be able to watch it not only live tonight as we do the class but also anytime at your pleasure on the internet that will sit there and sit there and sit there and you can watch all the classes that you’ve already missed and you can catch up and catch the classes that we’ll offer tonight.
Class 1, 2, 3 and 4 are done this evening. We’ll do class 5 and 6 next week, 7 and 8 the following week, 9 and 10 and then the 10 hours of teaching will be completed and you can order the CD series or the DVD series of these teachings and I think you’ll find it very very helpful. It’s all about the prophecy that Peter gave us that in the end times there would be an attack on the doctrine of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
It’s happening. It’s happening right before our very eyes and it’s happening right across the whole nation and across the world I believe, but certainly Christ is coming and I believe very, very soon. We hope that you’ll also be aware that our Sunday morning worship services are streamed to the Internet. You can watch those and you can go back and watch them in the archive. A lot of people are enjoying the Sunday morning messages. But thank you and we’re going to go to the phone lines again.
If you want to call in by the way, the number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Let me take an off-air question or so. Here we have Eddie in Lakeland, Florida. He calls in, leaves us off our question. If I leave a church, is there any scriptural reason that I should have to give a written notice? Of course, the answer is no, but if you want to definitely let them know that you’re not coming back, then maybe you want to write them a note or call them and tell them that you are looking for someplace else or that you’re not coming back and that you are not to be expected or whatever.
But definitely you don’t have any scripture that says you must write them a written notice. Off here we have Joseph in safety harbor. He says what do you think about the liberal and multicultural stance? Against the president and our military and how destructive it is to the United States Well, we are in the last days and I’ll tell you I think America is making Bad decisions ever since we took prayer and God out of the schools. It seems like We are just absolutely shooting ourselves in the foot that The whole idea of being a patriot and being loyal to your country and to your president and to your military is seemingly a thing of the past.
Everything today is under attack. All of our values. And I think it’s the end times the Bible talks about how that it’s going to get worse and worse. Evil men will grow worse and worse deceiving and being deceived. Read that in 2 Timothy chapter 3 as it gives a menu there of the Bible. of what we would see in our newspapers in the last days, and we’re seeing it all, that’s for sure. Thanks, Joseph, in safety harbor. We have Mary in Bartow, Florida, calling in.
Thanks for listing out there in Bartow, Mary. And it says here her question is, Jude, verse seven. Could this be the Lutheran Church and how they’re allowing gay and lesbian pastors? While it’s happening, not only in the Lutheran Church, but the Methodist Church. Of course, we know that the Anglican Church or the Episcopal Church is also experiencing big problems, causing a real schism in the Church over letting these people be in office. Obviously the Bible warns about in the last days that it would be again as it was in the days of Lot.
lot of course chose to live in Sodom and we certainly see this in our faces all the time and it’s a part of the end times. I know we’re close. Why? Because if that were just the only thing it would let me know that we’re close. If you’re reading the Bible and you look around at the world about you, when I was young we didn’t know anything about being gay or lesbians or homosexuals never even heard of it. But now everybody is being acquainted with what that’s all about.
The Bible says it’s an abomination. If you look back into the vidicous, there’s many, many verses that say that if a man lies with another man as he would with a woman, that it is an abomination and they were to be killed for that according to the Old Testament law. Boy, we’re in the last days and I think Jesus is coming soon and that’s what we’re seeing here I think as we look out at prophecy being fulfilled before our very eyes today.
Jesus is the one that said that by the way he said it would be again as it was in the days of Lot. Angela calls in from Odessa, Florida. Angela says the The Jews would have to slaughter animals for the forgiveness of sins. What do they do now since they are no longer doing that? What do they do to atone for sin? She knows now that Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. Angela, the answer is of course the animal sacrifices never did forgive their sin.
It says in Hebrews 10, 4, it is not possible. means it’s impossible. The blood of bulls and goats should take away sin. All of the animal sacrifices were a picture of God’s lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ, going to the cross and dying to pay for our sins. So obviously the Jews, for the most part, have obviously not only lost their temple where they would offer their sacrifices, which pictured what Christ would do, but they rejected Christ when he came.
So they’re in trouble. Without the shedding of blood the Bible tells us there is no remission for sin. Hebrews 9, chapter 9 verse 22. So without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. So they don’t have a bone sacrifice. And of course the sacrifice the Bible is pointing to is that of Christ. That’s the only sacrifice that will enable someone to go to heaven. Thank you Angela. We have Bill in Brandon Florida. He leaves us off your question.
How do I know if I have the Holy Spirit? I don’t have the biblical gift of tongues or if I don’t laugh with the Spirit. Well Bill, every believer has the Holy Spirit. If you have believed, let me point you to Ephesians 1.13. It says that when you believed the gospel, when you believed on Christ as your only hope of reaching heaven, it says God gave you or and me every believer the Holy Spirit which is the down payment on our salvation.
he seals you until you are actually in heaven with the Lord. The Bible says to the Corinthian believers, and apparently they didn’t know if they had the Holy Spirit or not. But Paul writes to them in verse 16 of chapter 3 and he says, what don’t you know that the spirit of God dwells in your body, which is God’s temple, and that He dwells within you? So it’s very clear that even though you may not be aware of it, the Bible tells us that happens at the moment of belief the Holy Spirit enters into every one who believes on Christ the Savior.
So if you’re a believer you have the Holy Spirit. Romans 8 and 9 says if you have not the Spirit of Christ then you are none of Him. So you’re not saved if you don’t have the Holy Spirit. Every saved person has the Holy Spirit. That’s the promise. There are many verses that we could recite. If you’re curious about this whole doctrine of the Holy Spirit. I would call in and get the book by Charles Ryre, Dr. Ryre, wrote a wonderful book called The Holy Spirit.
He answers so many of these questions and gives you the references that you need. I also have, I believe it’s a 12-week series of teaching, 12 hours on the Holy Spirit where a lot of these questions are answered and we go verse by verse on doctrine of the Holy Spirit. So keep that in mind. By the way, the phone number here, Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Tonight is class 5 and 6. We’ll be teaching on in-time controversy. I hope that you’ll come.

And again thank you all of you who listen and hopefully you’re enjoying the program. We’re going to go to Charlene. She’s right here in Tampa, Florida. Charlene, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Dr. Heng Lindstrom, do you believe that speaking tongues are gifts today or that time has already passed?
I know with people speaking tongues, you never hear an interpreter though. I know it. Now the real gift is ceased Charlene. It tells us that in 1 Corinthians 13, in verses 8 through 10, 1 Corinthians 13, 8 through and it tells us that the gift of tongues would cease when the Bible was completed. It says there when that which is perfect is come which we believe is the Word of God. And at the end of the first century when the New Testament record was complete, a ton ceased and history verifies that.
We don’t find the early church fathers speaking in tongues. don’t find it during the Dark Ages or during the Reformation, John Calvin and Swinley and John Wesley and Mark Luther, all the other reformers, they didn’t speak in tongues. And then of course, a hundred years ago or so, or more than that, I guess, the great evangelist, Billy Sundey and deal moody and all these they didn’t speak in tongues. This revival is a counterfeit gift, it’s a gibberish and it’s not the real gift at all.
The real gift ceased and the Bible doesn’t say that it’s going to be revived at all. If you had the real gift, you should use it to evangelize. It says in 1 Corinthians 14, 22, tongues are for a sign not to the believer, but to unbelievers. And so it was to be used to win the loss to Christ. I don’t see anybody doing that today. The people that claim they have it send their missionaries to language school and then they go down to the jungle and they teach the people to do the same gibberish that the witch doctor has already had them doing for centuries and centuries.
It’s a waste of time. Excellent. Excellent. I hope that helps you. Okay, thank you. Great. You’re welcome. And I have a CD on that where I explain all those passages very carefully and slowly. Also, we have a wonderful book by Merle Unger called the New Testament teaching on Tons. And if you read that book, you can see from the scripture that Tons are gone. He does an excellent job. Merle Unger who wrote the Unger’s Bible Dictionary. numerous other books.
What a scholar he was. He wrote this book called New Testament Teach Human Tons and It’s Slam Dunks Tons forever. There’s just no chance. If you read this book, you’ll agree that tongues are gone. We have an offer a question. Glenn in Land of Lakes Florida writes in, will all believers be at the great white throne judgment? And of Of course the answer is no. No believers will be at the Great White Throne Judgment. Believers will stand at a different judgment called the Judgment Seed of Christ that happens at the event of the Rapture.
A thousand years later, unbelievers will be standing at the Great White Throne Judgment. It says in the 2nd Corinthians 5-10 that we must all appear at the Judgment Seed of Christ. That’s believers. all believers will appear at the judgmentary of Christ, all unbelievers at the Great White Throne. If you read that passage in Revelation 20 where the Great White Throne judgment is described, you’ll find that every one of those folks are cast into the lake of fire. So they will be lost forever and ever and ever.
Every unbeliever will go there. John in Largo, Florida, calls in with this all-fair question. Why do people teach that you can lose your salvation? Is there any scripture that would teach this and the answer is no John It’s amazing that people want to argue to their own destruction and they will Obviously assume that In this life, you know, we can lose things maybe you’ve lost your keys. Maybe you’ve lost your wallet. Maybe you’ve lost other things But you can’t lose your salvation Because you’re not keeping it You know if you take your wallet to the bank and you put it in the safety deposit box, you’re not going to lose it because the bank is responsible to keep your wallet safe in their bank.
And so you’re not going to lose it. And the same thing is true about salvation. If you’re keeping your salvation then you could lose it. But Christ is the one who keeps it. Look at John 639, Jesus said, And this is the Father’s will which has sent me, the devolve which He has given me, I should lose none, but raise them all up against the last day. So Christ promised that He would not lose you. First Peter 1, 5 says, we’re kept by the power of God unto salvation.
So we’re kept by God’s power. How can you be lost? Whatever would cause you to be lost would have to be more powerful than God. That’s impossible. You’re just not going to be lost, John. And it’s because, again, they’re trusting in their works to be saved, and they’re trusting in themselves to stay saved, and therefore they won’t be saved unless they change their mind and trust Christ that he gives everlasting life to all those who believe on Christ as Savior.
Paul, and Brandon, just calls in and he says, there are churches that speak in tongues Have you ever been there to see it? It’s very real. Why don’t you teach that the Bible teaches, or what the Bible teaches about the biblical gift of tongues? Well, Paul, I do. I’ve been in those meetings, and they do gibberish. Nobody that speaks in tongues, the modern-day tongues, understands what they’re saying. I’ve talked to hundreds of these people, and they do their little cheddar in their cheddar, but ask them what they just said they have no clue.
I remember one lady she went on a trip with me to Israel and she did the gibberish and I said you understand what you’re saying she says no she says my little tongue gets going so fast she said I have no idea what I’m saying but she says but it feels so good well they they have a euphoria a static experience but it’s not the biblical gift if you You’ll read Paul, 1 Corinthians 14 verse 9, it says, except you speak by the tongue, words easy to be understood.
Now you tell me in those meetings where you’re saying that you’re hearing it and it’s real. Are you hearing words that are easy to be understood? Well, if you’re not, then you’re not hearing the real biblical gift. The real biblical gift was to be able to speak to a person of a different language in their language in a very easily understood presentation so that they could come to know Christ as their Savior. They’re not leading people to Christ, and they actually don’t have a clue as to what they’re saying.
They’re saying it’s some sort of a prayer language. As though God didn’t understand English. Why do you have to have a secret? decoder language to speak to God. We need to understand the English quite well. But the whole thing is a counterfeit. It is not the real gift, the biblical gift. If you read about it in Acts chapter 2, the Greek word dialectos is used. It means not only a real language, but it means a specific dialect of that language.
And that’s not happening today. Not happening at all. The biblical gift was temporary. It was used to reach people If you read Acts 2 there were 16 countries named by name, people from all those different countries from all over the world were there at Pentecost. They heard the apostles speak and they said, how is it that we hear every man in the language that dialect of where we were born and raised in the Gentile land? We’ve come back here to Jerusalem and here are some Hebrew believers telling us the the gospel in our very own language.
What happened? Paul pay attention. It says 3,000 people got saved. How many people have been led to Christ through this modern gift of tongues? Zero. I’ve interviewed so many. And I tell people, if you have the real gift, it’s a sign to unbelievers. Let’s go try it out. I can’t tell you how many people have get in my car, let’s go to the mall, I’ll get a crowd for you, I might have to freak out but I guarantee I can get a crowd.
Then I’ll introduce you, you do your gibberish, if this is the real gift we’re gonna revive in the mall. I can’t wait, I’ll leave my estate dinner after we get done. I have had nobody, nobody, nobody ever get my car to do that and there are people listening right now call me if you want to go out and try that, I’ll be glad to take you in my car We’ll get a statement or effort. It’s not going to win people to Christ that people are probably going to think you’re a little bit strange And maybe call for the people to white coats this modern gift is a counterfeit There is nobody today speaking in the biblical gift of tongues Thank you, Paul and you might want to get by CD or get this book.
We mentioned by Burlanger New Testament teaching on tongues it is excellent and The gibberish is not from God We have Sam in Lakeland, Florida and Sam, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Earth. Hello, I enjoy your conversation and programming and everything now. I want to ask you a question, two questions. One, the other day I was thinking, and there was something came to mind the night, brother. And it was something like what a woman says, tell you that she’s the father of her child.
And you say you’re not, call your only took out one time. And then you go and get the DNA, and the DNA tells you that you’re child or not. And it just dawning, when a person say that what Jesus go by, no matter what he do, he go by the DNA of that person because that person is a believer. So another question I want to ask you about, I don’t want to come in on it, that once and never the law, when Jesus told us he had a law and it fled, saw the river that’s the law like, And he pulled fear of law and everything he did, he came through it perfect.
So when the Holy Ghost dwell inside of you and your flesh is trying to do all this wrong thing, he said you died daily. And he said, well, he’s inside of you. So he just like came through the Old Testament, full fear of law within you. If you yield into the Holy Ghost and do what he said and everything, then you can let your flesh die daily each and every day. I thought I’d come in on those two questions.
Alright, thank you. Alright, well first of all, unless you have sex, there’s no way you’re going to be the father of that lady’s baby. And of course you are right, DNA will prove whether you were or not. But if you’re a Christian, that shouldn’t be happening at all. So as a believer, you’re only to have sex within the marriage relationship. So scratch that one and you wouldn’t have to worry about it if you follow the biblical rules for believers.
Then we have, of course, the second one. Of course, yes, we have an old nature and a new nature, and we need to yield ourselves to obey the Lord every day and have victory over the old nature. But we can’t live absolutely sin free, but we can have victory over sin. We need to realize that we have an old nature that war is against our spirit nature, and that is a battle. It says in Second Revelation 5, 17 that the flesh, or the lust of the against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh, and these are contrary to the one to the other so that you cannot do the things that you would.
So the Holy Spirit and the Spirit nature are at war with the flesh nature and vice versa. The Christian has a struggle where you have to choose moment by moment and day by day to make the right choices and to follow what God’s word would tell you to do Boy, we’ve had a lot of fun. We’ve had a lot of questions coming in here fast and hard and we hope that it’s been helpful We are at the end of the program.
I hope everybody listening is trusted Jesus as Savior If you haven’t you need to trust Christ alone Your works could not save you if they could have. Christ never needed to leave heaven. He never needed to die. He died. He left heaven. And He died on the cross because the only way to be saved is through His death at Calvary. I hope you’ve trusted Him as your Savior. Then choose to live for Him and get into the Bible and grow as a Christian and God will bless you and reward you for your faithful efforts.
