Satan changes the true gospel into a counterfeit message by addition and subtraction. In other words, Satan adds human works or effort to the plan of salvation in order to make the message of none effect.

We’re going to be talking a little bit about Lordship and Lordship Salvation is where someone teaches that there must be a commitment to Christ as Lord of one’s life in order to be saved. Recently there has been a modification of this position to say that willingness to be controlled by the Lord at the time of salvation is all that is required in addition to faith in Christ to be saved. The message of faith only and the message of faith plus commitment of life cannot both be the gospel.
Therefore one of them is a false gospel and comes under the curse of perverting the gospel or preaching another gospel. Galatians chapter 1 verses 8 and 9 says, For though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you, than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so now I say again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you, then that which you have received, let him be accursed.”
Well, interestingly, the Bible teaches the message of Christ plus is accursed. What about the prophecy in the book of Revelation, or the declaration in the book of Revelation? It tells us we are not to add to the words. In Revelation chapter 22 we have the final invitation of God for people to become saved. It says in verse 17, and the Spirit, that is the Holy Spirit and the bride, that is the church say come. Let me save all we need to do is come.
We don’t do anything because it’s all been done by Christ for us. Then, of course, the Christian life is about following Christ, which has to do with the cycle ship and earning rewards. But to be saved, the gospel simply comes. Come, come, come, that’s it. Just come. And I love that hymn where we come as we are, without one plea. But that thy blood was shed for me. And here in Revelation 22, 17, it says, let him hear it, say, come.
The message is the same. And let him, as a thirst, come. The message is the same. And whosoever will let him take of the water of life freely. This water of life, this eternal life that God offers, is free. Can only be received by faith and by faith alone, and all you need to do is come and place your trust in Jesus Christ. According to the Bible you become saved. Verse 18 and 19, a lot of people have been puzzled by this.
But it’s saying here, I testify into every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book. Of course the book of Revelation and the Bible also is a book written to reveal Christ. That’s what the book is about. Verse 1 of Revelation says the revelation of Jesus Christ. It’s the book that reveals who Christ is and what he’s done for us. It tells us in verse 5 of Revelation chapter 1, unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood.
Well here it’s saying, if you add to those words, he says, if any man shall add to these words, what does that mean? It tells us what Christ is and what Christ has done. If you add and say you have to have a commitment of your life to Christ in addition to simply coming to Christ, that’s another gospel. That’s under the curse. And here it talks about a curse as well. If any man shall add to these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.
The most serious plague is in chapter 14 of Revelation which is hell. If you die as an unbeliever, you will go to hell. If you are trusting in your works, in other words if you add to what the Bible teaches about salvation which is through Christ alone, the invitation here in verse 17 says three times Come, come, come, the Spirit and the bride say come. Let him adhere to say come. Let him as a thirst come. You just need to come.
Christ is offering eternal life to all that would believe on him. Whosoever believeth in him, Jesus said, should not perish but have present hence verb everlasting life. You receive eternal life at the moment you believe can possess it forever thereafter. So if you add and say you have to be what a baptized or joined the church or be confirmed or to do penance or mass or confirmation or whatever you might list, my friend, you’ll come under this curse here where God says he’ll add unto you the plagues that are written in this book.
In verse 19, the only other way you can alter The message of Christ is by subtraction. If any man shall take away from the words of the Book of this prophecy. So if you take away the revelation concerning Christ and the salvation he’s offered through his death and shed blood at the cross, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life. Now that is puzzled some, but it’s not loss of salvation. It’s someone who’s offered salvation who never gets it and if you die without Christ, Your name at death is stricken from the Lamb’s Book of Life.
In other words, Christ died for all men. Therefore, potentially all men, women and children, can go to heaven. God places everybody’s name in the Book of Life to begin with. If you become a believer, Revelation 3.5 tells us, at the moment of belief, He makes a promise that I will not blot out your name out of the Book of Life. So your name is there, but once you become a believer, it’s there permanently, and your name will never come out of the book of life.
If you die as an unbeliever at death, your name is stricken, and when the great white throne judgment occurs, which is for all unbelievers, and they search the book, your name won’t be there because it’s stricken at death, and your name will not be in the Lamb’s book of life. This is a pretty good warning here, and it’s a warning not to save people, but the people that are unsaved who are invited to come come come come, verse 17 says, Revelation 22, 17, come come come, and then the last invitation phrase is, Whosoever will anyone let him take of the water of life freely.
All you have to do is come. Receive it. Now if you add or take away from that message, you change it or alter it. My friend, you will not be saved. Let’s just say you went down to the car dealership. He found a car you like. The salesman offers you a contract and he shows you the sale price. He shows you the payments that you’ll be making, the interest rate and how much the total cost of the car will be.
And you are invited to the car. You’d design at the bottom and you’ll drive out of there with that car. But all of a sudden you take your pencil and you start changing figures. And you subtract, let’s say, make the interest rate half of what they suggested. Maybe you cut a couple thousand dollars off the car price and you sign it and hand it back to them. Do you have a contract? No. No, you don’t. Unless the dealership would agree to those changes, you don’t have a deal.
The same thing God has offered a deal here, He has offered a contract that if you simply believe or trust on Christ, you would be saved. And you say, well, I think I want to make a few changes here. I want to add water baptism and I’m going to add church membership. And I’m going to add Mass and penance. I’m going to add all those things to the list. And you sign it and hand it back to God. And God has said, you have no contract.
going to come under my curse. You’re not going to be in the book of life when you stand before the great wife, Thorne Judgment, and you will have the plagues of the Bible come down upon you and of course the ultimate plague is hell itself, where you’ll be cast into the everlasting lake of fire. This adding of works to what Christ did called Lordship Salvation many times will not get you to heaven. In Matthew 7 you have a clear example, but Christ says in Matthew 722, many to me that means the majority and I think the context demands that he talks about few entering in the narrow gate which is Christ.
He’s the way that the truth of life and broad is the way and many go into that broad gate which takes you to hell which is any religion you want to choose. They’ll all take you to hell. No religion can save, salvation is in a person, it is in the person of Christ. But Jesus says in verse 22, in that context, many will say to me in that day, that is the great white throne judgment that we referenced earlier, described in Revelation 20 verses 11 through 15.
Says many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, notice this group acknowledges the Lordship of Christ. And then they also brag about how they have been obedient to the Lordship of Christ. They say, haven’t we prophesied in your name? That means the preaching, the name of Christ, and the thy name cast out devils, did they not heal in the name of Christ? And thy name done many wonderful works. Verse 23, Christ says, I will profess unto them, I never knew you.
This is not loss of salvation. He never said, I once knew you and I lost you. He says, I never knew you. I never knew you. depart from me ye that work iniquity. Wow, here are people that are obviously buying into Lordship Salvation, and they say, Lord Lord, and look at what we’ve done because we believed you were the Lord, and we preached in your name and we healed in your name, and we did many wonderful works in your name and Christ said, I’m sorry, but I never knew you.
Why? They changed the contract. The contract was simply come. Come. Come. Whosoever will let him take of the water of life freely. There is no works involved. As soon as you add any work you have cancelled the contract. You don’t have a contract. You won’t be saved. When you stand before the Lord at the great wife or in judgment, your name will not be found in the Book of Life. But if you at one point in your life, trust Jesus Christ as your only hope of heaven.
The promise is made in Revelation 3.5 that he will not block out your name out of the Book of Life. My friend, I hope your name is there and remains there forever. Your name is there. If you’re an unbeliever, it’ll remain there until you die. You haven’t told them to simply trust Christ alone is death and shed blood as the only means of your salvation. I’m Dr. Inklyn Sturm. I’m pleading for your soul. I’m saved. Whatever you do, it will not affect what happens to me.
I’ve already trusted Christ and I’m assured of my salvation. I received Eternal Heaven 18 and I’ll possess it forever and ever and ever. That’s God’s promise. But I don’t know about you, and I’m pleading that you would simply come to the realization that you have to trust Christ and Christ alone. No works on your part. But as the hymn writer wrote, Just as I Am, I Come Without One Play. But that Thy blood was shed for me. That’s the only way you can be saved.
And I trust that you’ve done that. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. We invite you this Sunday with Mother’s Day. We’re going to be Having a Mother’s Day breakfast at nine o’clock all moms go free. Grandmoms go free great-grandmoms go free And the dads have to pay but it’ll be a great time And we’ll also be celebrating the moms in the worship service at 10 30 you’re welcome to come and bring mom and We’ll celebrate mothers as the Bible says In Exodus 20 in the Ten Commandments honor thy mother One of the Ten Commandments, honor my father and my mother.
We’ll honor the dads in June, but I think it’s appropriate that we honor the moms and we’ll do that this Sunday. And I hope you’ll take advantage of that. If you’re not in this area and you don’t have a church home, you can watch that service on the Internet by going to Bibleline Ministries. It’s not ORG. Click on the camera. You’ll be able to catch the service live. And if not, you want to catch it later. It’ll be an archive and that usually takes until the next day, but it’ll be an archive and you can watch it probably for six months.
It’ll sit there along with many, many other Sunday morning messages that are sitting there waiting for you. We’re going to go to the phone lines and we have a lot of people waiting and we have a lot of all fair questions. We’ll try to take them as quickly as we can. We have forest in Tampa, Florida. Forest, welcome to Bibleline. make sure you turn your radio down force you’re on the air. Force is not there right now so we’ll have to go to Peter in Clearwater.
Peter welcome to Bible Hi Hank. Hi Peter. My question is today can Jesus take his people out in Nashville? Can what now? Can Jesus take his people to Nazareth? Take his people out in Nazareth. I’m not too sure what you’re asking there Peter. I’m confused. Jesus raised in Nazareth. And obviously there are Christians in Nazareth today. There is a missionary there that we pray for that is reaching many of the Muslim faith to Christ and they are having a great work and leading many many many to a saving knowledge of Jesus in Nazareth.
I’m sorry Peter but I really didn’t understand your question and we are going to go to Benjamin in Clearwater Florida. Benjamin welcome the Bible and you are on the earth. Good morning Dr. Hank. The soul of the man is the intellect and motion reflects in the body of the flesh. If the soul is together with the flesh, when the person died, the soul also destroyed with the flesh that I don’t think so. you say that now. Well, the flesh dies and the body is spoken of as sleeping in the grave, but the soul and the spirit are absent from the body, present with the Lord, 2 Corinthians 5, 8.
And so you’re very conscious and very much alive, even though you don’t have a body. So apparently the body is not required, which the body would encompass also your mind or your brain rather. And so apparently your thoughts will continue with your soul and you’ll be conscious and able to make decisions and so on. And that is after you have passed away. But we’ll get new bodies and that’s of course what we’re looking forward to in heaven. And thank you for that great question.
Benjamin, we now have Forrest back with us from Tampa, Florida. Forrest, welcome to Vibeland. Yes, faster. You’re on the line. In Matthew 13, 49 and 50, in my Bible it reads, so it will be at the end of the age. The angels shall come forth and take out the wicked from among the righteous. One is that going to be at the end of the age. Is that the end of the age? The end of the age is the end of the tribulation period, which is really the end of the age of law.
As the dispensation or age of law that began at Mount Sinai still has seven years to tick off the clock. That’s why once the rapture happens that we’re back in an Old Testament territory. The Jews will be back in the land. They’re already there in anticipation of this, I believe. A temple will be rebuilt. Jewish witnesses will be the witnesses in the world. 144,000 Jewish men. Two Old Testament prophets, I believe, are Moses and Elijah will come back according to Revelation 11 and preach during that time.
time. Basically, animal sacrifices will be offered again in that rebuilt temple and so on and so on. So it’s on Jewish territory that we find ourselves after the rapture. That’s why the church is leaving at the rapture and the Jewish people then will be prepared to receive their Messiah and Christ will come back as their king and rule and reign on this earth for a thousand years. Thank you very much. Okay, fourth, and thank you for asking the question.
Good question. The end of the age that the Bible talks about is the end of the Old Testament age. What God has done, He slipped in between the two comings of Christ, a two thousand year church age where He’s turned to us Gentiles. And it’s interesting how Jesus even predicted that, that He would be rejected and He would be accepted by the Gentiles. You know there have been about at least 30 different Messiah’s that have presented themselves to Israel.
Israel has accepted them all except for one and the one that they rejected was accepted by the Gentiles. I think that is absolute positive proof that Jesus is the Messiah of Israel because he was rejected as predicted and accepted by us Gentiles and God is going to go back though and give the Jews another opportunity Once the rapture happens, seven more years pick off the clock and then Jesus will come back and rule and reign on this earth. Revelation 20 tells us six times for 1,000 years and we believe that to be literal.
And then at the end of that there will be the great white throne judgment that we referred to earlier where the lost will all stand and give an account. And many will say, as we just quoted a moment ago in Matthew 722, Lord, Lord, look at all All the wonderful works we did, why we preached a new name and healed a new name, Christ says to that group, I never knew you. So there will be those who claim to be Christian, claim that they have been living faithfully for Christ.
But the problem is, is that they were not trusting Christ to be saved, they were working their way to heaven by submitting to Christ’s Lordship. Now after you are a believer, certainly we ought to make a second decision to be a disciple and allow Christ to have the control of our lives, and that will bring about great reward. But if you’re attempting to do that to be saved, then it’s a different ballgame and you’ll not be saved at all.
All right, we have a lot of off-air questions here and we sometimes get some unusual ones. We have an interesting question here and I’m going to turn to Hebrews 13 and read this verse before I answer the question and hopefully we have a mature audience for this next question here. In Hebrews 13, it says in verse 4, Hebrews 13, it says, marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled, but hormones and adulterers will judge. So it’s talking here is masturbation permissible in a marriage bed, but wrong in a single.
And according to Hebrews, that all things are lawful in the marriage bed. And of course, if you are trying to avoid children, then you probably are out of order because certainly God wants us to have children and to multiply and carry on our family line. But in any case, I would say the answer is yes. Thank you, Jerry, from Plant City. Most unusual question. We have John in Richmond, Virginia, calling in, and he asked about John, chapter 8, could I explain verses 37 through 39.
John 8 here talks about the physical descendants of Abraham Isaac and Jacob that are here standing before Christ. And Jesus says in verse 37, I know that you are Abraham’s seed. But you seek to kill me because my word hath no place in you. So they were unsaved Jews who refused his word. He says in chapter 5 of John, he that here’s my word and believe it on him that sent me has everlasting life. So they obviously were not saved did not have everlasting life.
Verse 30, 80 says, I speak that which I have seen with my Father and you do that which you have seen with your Father. They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father, and Jesus said if you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. Well, here’s talking about now Abraham in a spiritual sense that he’s the father of faith, Romans 4, tells us that. So although he was their physical father, they had not followed his leading as their spiritual Father because Abraham believed in Christ according to Galatians 3 16 and if they were to be saved, if they were of faith like Abraham was to trust Christ, then they would be considered the spiritual children of Abraham as well.
So they were physical children of Abraham but they were not saved because of that. And it says in Romans 8, chapter 9, if you are just children of the flesh that doesn’t make you a child of God. You have to believe on Christ in order to become born into God’s family and become God’s child. We have to go to break. It’s interesting that the time goes by so quickly, but we’ll do a second half hour of this program in just a minute.
So keep your ready to do it out to right where it is and we’ll be right back with Bible Second half hour. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englundstrom. This is Bibleline. It’s great to be with you. Thanks for tuning in and we appreciate all of you. It’s Thursday and of course it’s May. If you haven’t given a gift to Bibleline this month, would you help us?
We certainly need everybody to pray for Bibleline and… We are excited about what God is doing and we believe it’s the result of your prayers for this Ministry because we’re trying to reach out as far as we can and God has opened this wonderful door for us to now go on Shortwave in Africa. We’re preparing those programs even as we speak and We should shortly be able to tell you when we go on the air and cover the whole continent of Africa Can you believe that that’s wonderful?
It won’t cost us, except for our production and all of that, but we’re excited and pray with us about these opportunities and others. But we also need your financial help. And if you could give a gift for the month of May, it would be really appreciated. You can do that by credit card over the phone if you’ll call that number 1-800-576-3771. We can accept a gift by credit card over the phone and or we can send you an envelope with our address on it.
you can send a gift to Bibleline by mail. Would you consider giving a gift this month to Bibleline? No gift is too small. But if you could give a generous gift, that would be appreciated. We just had a gift this week from South Florida where a fellow sent a quarter, and maybe that’s all he could afford, but it cost him thirty-nine cents in postage to send that quarter to us, but we thank God for that quarter. And we thank God for all of the gifts that come in here because we know that whatever your circumstances might be, that your heart is with us when you give a gift to Bible.
I didn’t thank God for all of you. And I want to thank you in advance for your kindness and your thoughtfulness in investing in Bible. And you’re confident in us to get this message out every day as far as we can get it out to reach a world that needs to know about Christ. We hope that you’ll take a look at our website. We have an online bookstore, a lot of resources that will help you. We have lots of, well, we have our CDs.
If you want to get our Sunday sermons, we have the whole month, rather the whole year of 2006-52 sermons. That on the internet there is showing a price of 300. We’ll give you that whole year of CDs for a gift of $250. dollars. That will help Bibleline, but also you’ll have 52 hours of listening. It will keep you in the Bible, and I think you’re going to enjoy all the Sunday messages for the past year of 2006. In any case, if you will call our operators, they’ll be glad to help you.
We’re about ready to rejoin stations that have been on break and come back into the second half hour Bibleline, so keep your radio tuned right where it is. Or go to the internet to catch the second half, BibleLineMinistries.org. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, this is the second half hour Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church.
We’re excited about being with you each and every day. Thanks for tuning in. God bless you and thank you all that pray for us here at Bibleline. It is your prayers, I believe, that are being answered as God allows us to be on the ear and gives us new opportunities to expand outward. We’re wonderfully excited about the answer to God’s prayers that you have been asking for God to expand this ministry and we’re going to Africa on shortwave. It won’t cost us a dime except for our production.
We’re excited about that. And so your prayers are deeply appreciated. And by the way, your gifts as well. And we need your financial support. We don’t have any other means of paying for our programs and our costs. We don’t pay any salaries, but we do have radio bills and satellite bills and telephone bills and equipment bills and all those kind of things are there every month for us to deal with. And we count on our listeners to be able to help us.
No gift is too small, we say that. And this week we received a gift from South Florida, a man sent a quarter. It cost him $0.39 to get it here, but you know, it shows that his heart is with us and we sure appreciate even that quarter. That was great. And obviously if you can give more generously it would really help us and I hated to see him. I have to spend 39 cents to get that quarter to us but we appreciate every gift that comes here.
We thank God for you who pray for us and give the Bibleline. One lady gives one dollar a day and she’s on a type budget, but she says I have been faithful to give one dollar a day to Bible and if everybody did that we would be in great shape because we are very frugal and we try to get the most for what comes in here and the Lord has blessed us abundantly that way because we are stretched out thin but we are reaching out to a lot of folks and we thank God for every one of you who listen and are part of this.
You can send a gift by the way by mail or you can give it my credit card over the phone. If you call our 800 number which is 1-800-576-3771, that’s 1-800-576-3771. You can get up on the air with us or you can give a gift by credit card over the phone or you can get us to send you an envelope with our address on it and we hope that you will and I want to thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and your prayers and for your financial support to Bible and God bless all of you.
We have now Francisco in Tampa, Florida on the line and Francisco welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. And God bless you doctor. Thank you. Yeah I just had a question I was I heard you speaking earlier about the so eloquently stated about the being safe by just trusting and my faith alone. And I had a question about, I know a lot of friends and not people that don’t know anything about scripture or about the Bible. When they come and they trust in the Lord and they receive the gospel.
And my question would be if those persons, those people that don’t know anything about by the way, they trusted the Lord and made it on. They thought they’d go to a church where they’d taught all these faith-plus things. Would they lose their salvation? No, they’d still be saved, but they just wouldn’t make any real progress in their Christian life and miss out on the joy and the rewards and the blessings that come by knowing what the Bible says and then living for Christ.
But I think if a person is sincere and they really do want to know the Lord, as a believer, even God will guide them and let them know that there’s something not quite right about wherever they’re attending church if they are hearing a wrong message. And so I think if you’re lost even that God will bring the truth to you. We just recently had a Jehovah’s Witness. Dr. Lourdes Savior, he’s a sixth generation to hold his witness, one that lectured all over the world for the witnesses and traveled as an ordained spokesperson for the Joe’s Witness movement.
He spoke in 80 different countries, he told me, and his latest convention that he spoke at was one that had 80,000 people in attendance. This was a high-up witness that got saved by listening to Bibleline. What a thrill it is to be able to reach out and reach people. And I think he was seeking and things didn’t seem to be making perfect sense to him. And he heard Bibleline, he said that was the unpardonable sin. And because he couldn’t stop listening.
And he got saved and he came and shared that with me with tears in his eyes, me for getting the gospel to him. But we can reach out, and I believe that the person is sincere. They’re seeking God will get them the truth and deliver them. As this fellow was delivered out of being a sixth generation Jehovah’s Witness to know the truth and he’s resigned now from the Witness Movement. He now has a clear message which is great. Praise the Lord.
And I think even after you get saved, God will guide and direct you. You might sit under that for a while, but discover that it doesn’t really sound right or there’s something about it that’s not right. And you’ll discover that you’ll be led through. I know as a new believer myself, I would sit and say, something is not right about what I’m hearing here. This doesn’t seem to make sense. And the Lord guided me into truth. And it’s in the Bible.
And that’s where we have to go. We have to look in the Scriptures to find it. I hope that answer will help you a little bit, but no, they will not lose their salvation. Once you’re saved, you’re stuck. You go to heaven no matter what. Okay. Thank you. You’re welcome, Francisco, in Tampa, Florida. We now have John in St. Petersburg. John, welcome to Bibleline. How are you, Dr. Hank? Good. You spoke earlier about just come by faith. the Bible and if you could tell me the chapter in the verse also says faith without works is dead.
So is that a conflict between revelations where it says just come because it also says that faith without works? That’s in James chapter two and if you read the chapter there James is talking to believers. He’s talking if you read the book you’ll notice he says again and again beginning in the very first verse He says my brethren my brethren my brethren my brother and my brother and my brother and my brother and my brother He’s talking about people that are born again and our brothers and sisters in the body of Christ verse 18 He talks about how God begats us by his word when we trust Christ.
We’re born again He’s talking to people that are saved that are born again, and then he tells them in In verse 14, what shall it profit? Profit has to do with rewards. He’s not talking about the doctrine of salvation. He’s talking about believers having no profit, no rewards in heaven as a result of their not having any works or living for Christ. And the whole context demands it. It says in verse 12 of chapter 2, it says, so speaky and so dewy as those that will be judged by the law of liberty.
Well, that’s the judgment of believers at the judgment seat of Christ and everything we speak and everything we do ought to be with that in mind that we’re going to be judged, although we’ve had liberty to make our choices and not serve the Lord if we don’t want to, that we’ll be judged for our lack of service. And James is saying, if you don’t have any works, can faith save you? He’s not saying in verse 14 about being saved from hell.
He’s talking about being saved from the consequences of the judgment that chapter 2 verse 12 of James is talking about where you’ll stand before the Lord and if you’ve had no works, you’re going to be embarrassed. You’re going to be ashamed. You’re going to have regret. You’re going to have sorrow. You will shed tears. You will suffer the loss of reward and so on and so on and so on. know faith without works will not save you from those consequences.
So James is not talking about how to be saved. Later in verse 23 of James 2, James lets us know he’s on the same page. He tells us that Abraham was saved by faith alone without works in verse 23 of James 2. But he’s talking to believers and warning them about if they don’t do any works, they’re one day you’re going to not be spared the consequences when they stand before the Lord and the Lord is going to look at you and say I’m ashamed.
You’re going to be in heaven. You’re just going to be on the bottom rung of the ladder with no rewards. That’s right. Okay, no, that’s fine. All right. Thank you for clearing that up. You’re very welcome. And you know, I’m glad I heard that early in my Christian life. And I said to myself, and I need to get on the ball because I was doing nothing that would bring about rewards in eternity. As somebody once said, one on earth or you’re not.
you doing for heaven’s sake?” And that’s a good question to ask. What on earth are you doing for heaven’s sake? Christ said lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. And obviously, if you’re going to have any treasure in heaven, you’re going to have to lay it up while you’re here in this life. You can’t take it with you. Maybe he heard the story about the one man and he was about ready to die and he told his wife, I want you to take all my treasures and put up in the attic because when I die, I want to take him up with me on the way up.
Well, after he died, she ran up into the attic and she looked to see if he had done that. And they were still sitting there, and she said to herself, I knew I should have put those in the basement. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed that. We’re going to now take Adam’s call, and Adam is in Tampa, Florida. Adam, welcome to Bibleline, and you’re on the air. Yes, did God hide the truth from Solomon because in Ecclesiastes it seems like Solomon is a little bit confused about eternity because in three says that that God has said in eternity in the hearts of men and in twenty says all go to the same place all come from dust and then they all return to dust and who knows that the spirit of men will rise upward.
Do you explain what that’s all about? Sure. Solomon was really talking about this life and he said that everything you try in this life is really vanity or like a soap bubble that will burst. It’s never going to satisfy him. And he obviously was in a position to try everything. He was saying that wealth will not satisfy you and you can see that in a book. A power will not satisfy you. Sex will not satisfy you. I don’t care what it is.
You’ll never be completely satisfied. You know the French scientist Pescale who discovered to us the laws of vacuum said that there’s a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man that only God can fill. So if you really want to find true satisfaction, then he says you need to find God. And if you read the 12th chapter which is the grand conclusion, he says you need to seek and find the Lord because he is the only one that can fill the deepest long ends of your heart or you the real person.
And so you can pursue everything you want in this lifetime and still be left empty. People that get rich want to get richer. People that have power want more power. And it doesn’t matter what it is. they become addicted to these things and they never find that they satisfy it. But the Lord is the only one that can really satisfy you and that’s what He’s talking about. And so basically everybody on the planet as far as human life is concerned pursues these different things but He tells them what they really need to do is seek and find the Lord and then live for Him because one day that’s all that’s really going to count.
Good question and I hope that helped you with that. Ecclesiastes, most of it is talking about worldly pursuits and how they’re all vanity. The Hebrew word means like a bursting soap bubble. They appear to be pretty for a moment, but then they burst and you’re not satisfied. But only the Lord can really bring the satisfaction you’re looking for in your life. We have Robert down in Pompano Beach, Florida. He calls in, leaves him off here. Question. He says, I live in a condo.
I’ve been leaving your tracks in the building. Good for you. A Catholic person is offended by the tracks. He says, if I don’t stop, he’ll report me to the manager. Should I stop leaving the tracks? Well, if you’re offending this gentleman, I would not leave him a track anymore, but I don’t think you have to stop paying any out tracks. I am sure that most are not offended. And if this fellow is offended, then you have to just say, I will not offend you anymore.
I’m not gonna give you any more. just pray for him because certainly anybody who turns down the gospel is actually shooting themselves in the foot one day, I think the Lord will remind them, you know, somebody was trying to lead you to Christ and you should have taken heed. Now it’s possible, you know, for a Catholic, a Baptist, a Methodist, or whatever to be be safe, but sometimes people are members of a denomination. And they’re not saved because salvation is not in a denomination.
Salvation is in the person of Christ. And Jesus said, I am the way. So there are two kinds of Catholics, two kinds of Methodists, two kinds of Presbyterians, two kinds of Baptists. There are those that have trusted Christ and are going to Heaven. And there are those that have not trusted Christ and are going to help. Jesus made that clear in John 3 18. He said, he that believeth on Christ is not condemned, but he that believeth not, is condemned already because he hath not believed.
So I’ve met lots of folks from lots of different denominations that were active in their churches but not believers. We had a fellow here come to our church and he got saved at 76 years of age. That’s kept it close. And he had been in church and active in leadership in many different churches over the years and he said he never heard how to be saved until he came here. Wow, that’s scary isn’t it? So yes indeed I think we need to make sure of everyone and what we’re saying here is that we can’t take it for granted because somebody goes to a church whether it be Catholic or Presbyterian or Baptist or Methodist or whatever it might be that they are going to heaven that they know the Lord because that means nothing.
And I think sometimes even their answer might be one that would give you that tip off. If you have somebody, when you die, are you going to go to heaven? I’m a Baptist. Well, you know, really ought to say he’s a believer in Christ. Or are you going to heaven when you die? I’m a Catholic. Well, what does that mean? I mean, you have to be a believer in Jesus to go to heaven. So to give you a wrong answer, the fact that you are a Baptist or that you are a Presbyterian or that you are a Catholic doesn’t get you into heaven.
You have to be a believer in Christ. You must trust Christ as your Savior in order to be saved. And so I think we are compelled to witness. The great commission Christ gave us was to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Certainly you can begin in your condo. God bless you. Keep leaving tracks. Just leave that pillow alone. Obviously he is satisfied with where he’s at. I hope and pray that he’s safe off air Tom in Largo, Florida says in Genesis 1 26 God says he created man in Genesis 1 28 he says be fruitful and multiplied and replenish the earth What is being replenished in this earth?
I believe that the earth was previously inhabited inhabited by plants, animals, dinosaurs, and all of God’s angels lived on the original earth. Because Satan attempted an overthrow of God, God judged the earth and killed all life on the planet. You see that in Genesis 1-2. So now Adam was told to re-clenish the earth because it had life before. Now it was to be clinched again with life. And I wouldn’t make a whole lot about that, Tom, except in Genesis 9.1 we have the same command given to Noah.
Now, we know in Noah’s case that there had been destroyed in the flood, and he was told to be fruitful, multiply, and re- not replenish, but re-plunish the earth. So in his case, we know it means that he was the Plunish to earth again with life which it had prior to the flood. And so if that same389 Hebrew is given to Adam, it again implies to us exactly what we believe the Bible is saying there, that there had been life, it had been destroyed, Genesis 1 2, and that now he was the Plunish to earth again.
When you read Isaiah 45-18, the word created is used sparing, but it talks about when God created the earth, he created it perfect, and he created it inhabited, and it says he did not created vain. The Hebrew word vain is the same word that’s translated void in Genesis 1 2. So it tells us he didn’t create it the way we find it in Genesis 1 2. That was the result of a judgment. Tom, thank you for calling. I hope that helps.
And we are excited. We have Abdul and Dawn and they’re in Berkshire, England, and they are enjoying our program and they’re asking what about the program amazing facts well amazing facts i believe he said that they had been asked and his doctrine is wrong so i would be very careful about watching that program i it’s amazing how that uh… different cults offer a sprinkling of a lot of truth and then they put the ball bad doctrine in there with it but uh The Bibleline radio with Dr.
Hank Lindstrom. and they believe you. And a lot of things wrong with the amazing facts program and it’s seven to add minutes. Thank you for listening over there in England. We’re excited about having you call in from England and God bless you all and thanks for giving us a call today from England. That’s probably the most the greatest We had a call during the show and thank you for that call. This is byline the phone numbers 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we’d love to hear from you.
Tonight is our television programs and we’ll be on at 6.30 on World Harvest Television Channel 321 nationwide. Then at seven o’clock in the west coast of Florida will be on the CTN network. I hope you’ll be watching at seven. Soon you’ll be seeing some of our scenes from Israel as we’re beginning to produce those programs. With footage we took on our trip when we were in Israel. And I think you’ll find those very, very fascinating. It won’t be tonight, but we’re getting close to putting those up on the TV programs.
You’ll be able to see them also on the internet site as they appear on the air. We also want you to know we’re teaching a Tuesday night class about end time controversy. I hope that you will take advantage of that class by internet or order the CDs or the DVDs or actually come out on Tuesday night if you’re in this area. That is the Tampa Bay area and drive in and sit in the class. We have two more weeks to go.
Next week will be class seven, the following week will be class nine and ten. That will complete the ten hours of teaching about this preterism replacement theology thing that’s getting a lot of attention today. And everything is turned backwards by that whole system. And they make Israel the terrorist, not the Palestinians. And it’s really, really, I think the roots of anti-Semitism are now bearing fruit in so-called Christian churches who are turning against Israel and say they have absolutely no right or no claim to the land there in the Middle East called the Holy Land, that it doesn’t belong to them.
When the Bible is very clear that God promised that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob forever. and even as late as Ezekiel in the Babylonian captivity. Ezekiel says I am going to give you that land back again after this major 2000 year dispersal that is predicted in Ezekiel 37, the vision of dry bones and how that he would bring them back and they would be resurrected as a nation. We are seeing that before our very eyes today. Israel was not a nation until 1948 and next week we will be celebrating that anniversary.
14th coming up is the anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel, the first time the nation existed in 2000 years, and that’s a fulfillment of prophecy. And there it says, I’ll give you the land that was promised to Jacob, the grandson of Abraham, and how that you and your children and your children’s children will have this land forever. Read it Ezekiel 37 verse 25 tells us this wonderful promise and it’s forever. It’s not rescinded or done away with as those who teach replacement theology believe this is absolutely a perversion of the Bible.
It’s anti-Semitic. It is I think terribly wrong and we’re teaching on that on Tuesday nights. I hope you’ll get to see these and get that series. I think you’ll definitely enjoy it. We have a salvation message on our website, and it’s available for you to put on your website. A lot of websites are putting it on there as a simple seven minute video gospel presentation. And churches are even putting it on their website. So I went on the internet and I saw several churches up north and other places that are, got my salvation presentation on their website because they want to get people saved like we do here and you’re welcome to do that too.
If we can help you get that up on your website if you don’t know how to do it we’ll tell you how call us and we’ll help you put that on your website to share the gospel with those that come to your site. We’re going to get a Madeline in Bradenton Florida and Madeline welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hey, Dr. Hank, I have a question for you regarding T on TV Grant Jeffrey. Is he? I like a lot of what Grant Jeffrey writes.
I’ve got a lot of his books. I think he’s a post tribulation. rapturous though he believed to go through the tribulation I would disagree with him on that but I have been impressed by the number of his books and he’s a good researcher and but again I I believe that Christ comes back before the tribulation we were out and then the tribulation period will follow which I believe is the last seven years the Old Testament age of law and then Christ returns at the end of that time to set up his kingdom.
Yeah yeah but I asked about to others. Sure. Jack fan imp. Yeah. Eppy. Or something like that. Yes. Jack I think has got some strange little teachings here lately. I used to really enjoy his teachings but he knows those animals will be raptured and things like that which I can’t I got his video on that and I can’t buy it at all. I think he’s pushing the envelope there to try to push scriptures to make that happen, but For the most part he believes in virgin birth the that’s been a resurrection price the preacher relational rapture and many things I’m in real harmony with Jack And one more cow, B-A-U-G-H.

We’ve enjoyed bringing it to you and we thank you again for tuning in. We hope that you are telling your friends about the program help against grow our audience. We hope that you’re praying for us. We certainly need your prayers and we certainly hope also that you will help us financially. We could use a gift.
If you could send a gift for the month of May, that would be wonderful. And again, no gift is too small. We appreciate it. We kept it comes in here and I shared earlier that we had a fellow down in South Florida sent us a quarter. Cost thirty nine cents a postage to get it to us. But we’re so pleased that his heart is with us and he’s praying for us and he sent a quarter. I don’t know his financial circumstances, but obviously that’s the smallest gift I think we’ve received.
But we thank God for it and we thank God for you. And if you could give a gift of whatever size we would be thankful and thank God for it and for you. And of course if you can give a more generous gift that would be wonderful. One lady has been faithfully giving one dollar a day. And we thank God for that. Wow, if we could just have more that would do that, it would be wonderful. And the Lord will allow us to expand out and make sure that your program still continues to come to you in your area on your radio station or on the internet or whatever because all of these things do cost money.
It’s a way that all of us can partner together and get the job done. I believe you’ll be sharing equally if whatever rewards we’ll receive for what we’re doing here in this daily program and in our other ministries where we reach out with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. If you want our resource list, the Ball of Things in our Resource Center, we can do that.
