At your leisure at your pleasure at your time these 12 hours of teachings as we go through them.

By the way they will all be available on CD when we get all done and a lot of people tell me they’re planning to order the 12 hours of teaching on John on CD when we get all done. We have a lot series already done and the book of Revelation is one of the most popular. We have one on parables. It’s incredible. You know, parables were written to concealed truths, not revealed truth. And we go through some of the most difficult parables and teach the principles of interpretation so you can figure them out for yourself.

But if you’re not careful, you can go astray with parables because they’re not meant to reveal truth but to concealed Christ said in Mark 4 that he spoke in parables so that seeing they would not see and that hearing they would not hear and understand less than any time they should be converted and are sent should be forgiven. So they were really given to hide or conceal truth. By the way, this week we have our Resource Center open every day and you’re welcome become by and visit and say hi and take a look at what we have here.

We have the Schofield Bibles that I keep talking about. We have the older edition, which is the one that really hasn’t been tampered with yet. The newer Schofields have really tampered with the word and the notes and I don’t recommend them as highly. But also, we have commentaries in all kinds of books that I recommend and plus our tracks we have some super tracks that are great for evangelism and we have also the handbook on evangelism, the greatest book I’ve read on how to do the soul of Christ.

He’s called Handbook of Personal Evangelism, and that’s available for a gift of just $12. We have that in Spanish, too. If you know folks that read and prefer to read in Spanish, that book is in Spanish. We also have our track, Am I Going to Heaven in Spanish? And that’s wonderful. I think it really is very powerful to have a good sound track in Spanish to lead folks to Christ that don’t do well. don’t do well in English but do well in Spanish.

We’re going to look at the Bible for a few minutes and then we’re going to go ahead and take our callers today. And again that number is 1-800-576-3771. The question keeps coming up from time to time. In Matthew 19 I’m going to turn there because this is considered a difficult passage. a lot of those that go astray, seemed to park right here in Matthew 19, they seemed to hang their head on this passage. It says in verse 16, “…and behold one came and said unto Christ, “‘Good Master, what good things shall I do that I may have eternal life.'”

And then Jesus said to him, why did you call me good? There is none good but one and that is God. What a tremendous introduction here. You know, we use that phrase often, that fellow was a good person, but technically the Bible says there is none good, no not one. And it’s the theme throughout the Bible. It says Ecclesiastes 7-20, there’s not a just man upon the earth that doeth good and and sineth not. Romans 3, 23 says, for all have sinned and have come short of glory of God.

Romans 3, 10 says, as it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one. Not one person is righteous in God’s sight of themselves. But yet that’s the requirement for salvation. And when a person puts their trust in Christ, then God grants that Christ’s righteousness be imputed or credited to your account so that God looks down upon him, believer, and sees you righteous, not based upon your deeds, but based upon what Christ did for you. Well this fellow had the wrong idea for the get-go here.

He says, what good things shall I do that I may have eternal life? So he had a couple of things wrong right from the get-go and Christ, real skillfully and quickly answers those questions. First of all, he called Christ good and Christ wanted to make sure he understood that if you’re calling me good, do you understand that that means I’m God? Because there’s none good, no not one, only God. And so Jesus is God and of course that was correct but I don’t think this fellow had that in mind and I don’t think he thought that Jesus was God in flesh.

I was raised in church and never, never heard that Jesus was God in my church and I didn’t hear that until I got saved. And the night that I got saved, I saw from the Bible that Jesus was God and that he was the Savior and that salvation was a gift and he purchased it in its entirety and he offered it to me free if I would simply trust Christ. Well, that was good news to my ears. Well, here this fellow is saying, second thing he has wrong here, what good things shall I do that I may have eternal life?

Well, he thought he could earn eternal life and the Bible is very clear from the get-go that no one can earn their salvation. That’s the whole reason why a redeemer was necessary, why Christ had to leave heaven and come to the earth. You know, if you could have earned your salvation, Christ could have stayed in heaven. Why did He come? Why did He die? If we could be saved by our deeds? Well, the answer is we can’t. And that’s why we need a Savior and that’s That’s why Christ came to be that Savior.

Then Jesus points out the law here to him. It says here, He said to him, why do you call me good? There’s none good but one. But if you will enter into life, keep the commandments. That has confused some. But you see, in order to show a person that they’re a sinner, God gave the commandments because none of us have ever kept them. So he tells them, keep the commandments. Well no one has ever been able to keep them.

If you are honest and you look at the commandments and you see that you can’t keep them, it brings you to the place where you recognize that you need a Savior and that’s what Christ was doing. He was preparing the way. And so this man wanting to justify himself says in verse 18, which commandments? And some Christ names a few, they all shall do no murder. We can stop right there for a moment. Did you know? In 1 John 3.15 it says if you ever have hated anyone, that you have committed murder and your mind and your heart.

That’s right. So who is not a murderer when you define it that way? Isn’t there some time in your past when you’ve hated someone, maybe your brother or your sister or somebody that you hated? Well, if you ever did, according to the Bible, you’ve committed murder. Thou shalt not commit adultery. The Bible says Christ said, if you have lusted in your heart after the opposite sex, then you’ve committed adultery in your mind. So we’re breaking all these commandments, it seems here.

Thou shalt not steal if you’ve ever taken anything in Niccola, whatever that didn’t belong to you, and answer off somebody’s test in school as a child. You’ve broken that one thou should not bear false witnesses or anybody that has never told a lie The only one I’ve ever heard of is George Washington. I guess he’s the only one who Couldn’t tell a lie that never told one obviously he he was a sinner too But you know the Bible tells us that we’ve never kept them check this one out verse 19 Prices honored I followed my mother.

I have never seen a child yet that all their life I’ve completely honored their father and the mother. This hadn’t happened yet. And so there’s not a commandment here that anyone has kept. And look at what the young man answers. In verse 20 of Matthew 19, the young man says, all these things that I kept for my youth up. What lack I yet? Well, he was obviously deluded or self-righteous, or certainly thought more highly of himself that he should have.

There’s nobody that should be able to say that. So I believe he’s lying. All these things that I kept for my youth up, went like I had. He said he’s kept all the commandments. Well, no one has kept all the commandments. Jesus said in John’s Gospel chapter 7, did not Moses give you the commandments? And yet none of you have kept them? None of you have kept them? Christ made that remarkable statement. Nobody’s ever kept them. And Christ knew that.

He’s talking here to a man who was trying to earn his way to heaven, thought he was capable of doing that, he was self-righteous and thought he was on his way. Well, in any case, then Jesus says here, if you will be perfect, that means mature, sell what you have, give to the poor, now she’ll have treasure in heaven. And that’s the second part of what happens. When you trust Christ, you’re made righteous, but then we can earn rewards as we serve him after we become saved.

And so in the verse 21, if you have your pen, I would recommend you mark this because here Christ gives him both, not only how to be saved, but the Christian life that follows and how to earn rewards. He says, come and follow me. Now if you’ll stick with me here in Matthew 19, 21, he says, come, that’s all you need to do to be saved. an Matthew earlier. Jesus said, coming to me, all you labor and are heavy laden and I’ll give you rest.

So to be saved, we simply just come. It’s all been done. Christ paid the full payment for our sin and all we need to do is come and receive it. So that’s all you have to do to be saved. Then he says, follow me. That has to do with the Christian life. And if you haven’t learned yet how to rightly divide the word, you need to be able to separate between salvation, which is what God has done for us, and then the Christian life, which is our response and what we do for Him, and our salvation is totally purchased by Christ death and is offered free, and we simply receive it, and that settles it once we trust Christ.

But then following Christ has to do with the Christian life and that earns rewards for us. Jesus said in Matthew chapter 4, the same book, follow me and I will make you what? Fishers of men. So the Christian life is embodied in that phrase, follow me. Follow me and the purpose really of the Christian life and the focus of the Christian life should be. But ultimately that we would be leading men to Christ. Follow me and I’ll make you a fisher of men.

So everything that Christ has so far said is summed up in this right here. He’s telling the young man if he is righteous, which he’s claiming that he is, then he’ll enter heaven. But we’re not righteous of course, and we have to come to Christ and receive the payment that he made for us on the cross. And then God will grant us his righteousness so we can enter heaven. So he says, come. you have to do to be saved verse 21 in the last phrase.

Then follow me, which is the Christian life, and then you’ll earn rewards. You’ll have treasure. He mentions that in verse 21 here, that if you sell what you have and you give to the poor, you’re going to have treasure in heaven, and by following Christ you earn treasure. Well, the disciples, by the way, got confused when they heard all this, and they were exceedingly amazed in verse 25, and who then can be saved? He said, because they got confused and that’s why this is considered a difficult passage.

But verse 26, Jesus beheld them and He said unto them, with men, this is impossible. In other words, it’s impossible for somebody to try to keep the commandments and be made righteous to go to heaven. We could never attain to it. So the law points out that we are failures, that we need a Savior and we come to Christ and He saves us. Then, of course, treasure is earned by living for Christ. Later, we find in verse 28, Christ says that those that follow Christ in the regeneration that is the new birth, they inherit eternal life.

So he turned on eternal life as a gift and inheritance as a gift. Verse 29 says they’ll inherit it. But then he also talks here about rewards. If you serve me, verse 29, everyone that have forsaken houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for my name’s sake shall receive a hundred fold.” That’s talking about God rewarding your faithful service. So you have to rightly divide here, and Christ is saying that you have to be righteous to go to heaven, and if you would own up to the fact that you are not righteous, that the commandments have not been kept by you, then you need to come to Christ, who is the answer, verse 21, and he’ll save you.

Then if you follow him, you’ll have treasure in heaven and it talks about how that will have a hundred fold reward by serving Christ. So the Bible is right in line with itself throughout, thus it contradicts itself. And this passage doesn’t teach a different plan of salvation than any other passage. It’s impossible, Christ says, for you to be righteous by keeping the commandments or by works. With men, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible. When you trust Christ, God is able to credit your account with His righteousness based upon the fact that Christ made the full payment for your sin at the cross.

I’m Dr. Englundstrom. This is my blind. All of our phone lines are lighted up. We have all fair questions. We’re going to go try to take some of them right now. I’m going to go to South Florida. We’re going to go to Pembroke Pines. We’ll talk to Robin. Robin, welcome to the Bible. And you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. I didn’t have to remember us, but my family and I visited you a couple years back. a couple years back at your church about the children on a Wednesday night yes i remember that i had a couple questions kind of like a four-part question and be quick but i just want to ask you all that one i was wondering i’m reading a phoenix x and i was wondering what your opinion is on sprit spiritual warfare and have you had to study much on the subject and do you have any personal

experiences you can share and is there any specific way to prepare for such a confrontation well you know it’s interesting that uh… a lot of people make too much out of the spiritual warfare thing where you’re just constantly looking in every dark place for some demon to leap out and grab you. It’s actually something that you just will be facing really in everyday life and often it’s very subtle but to be prepared will allow you to be successful as you are confronted with different things.

I think the major point in Ephesians 6 there that most people miss, it says have your feet prepared with the, or prepare them with the preparation of the Gospel with peace. In other words, if you have the armor on, but you’re not involved in the conflict, then you really aren’t going to have a battle. So a lot of people say I don’t see much of a battle here, I don’t see much of a struggle. But once you prepare your feet to take you to someone with the gospel and you bring the gospel, then you’re entering into Satan’s territory and Satan doesn’t want to relinquish anybody to come to no price and be saved.

So that’s when you begin to experience Satan beginning to fire back at you. If you are on the battlefield and you’re shooting at the enemy and you say, well, why are they shooting back at me, because you’re shooting at them. When you’re shooting at the devil, then he’s going to shoot back at you. So you then need the shield, you need the helmet, you need the breastplate, you need all the protection. So I think it’s not something where we need to be focused on the spiritual warfare so much as we just prepare ourselves by reading our Bible, by doing the right things, and then prepare ourselves to go out into the battlefield and bring the gospel to the lost.

And as we do, we’ll be engaging the enemy. And if we are in our Bibles, we’ll be able to handle whatever comes our way. And it doesn’t necessarily say it’ll be the same for every individual. It’ll be different. But definitely the Bible says if you’re a Christian, you’re going to be engaged in conflict. And that’s going to happen. It’s par for the course. . . . . . . . . . So have you had any personal experiences with demonic kinds of…

Yeah, I have that and of course that’s the direction a lot of people go and I wouldn’t even try to focus on that very much but certainly absolutely I’ve had people that were probably demon involved that were told they told me later when they got saved that they were told by the demons to come and kill me. So absolutely. Okay. Thank you. Yeah, so it’s real no doubt about it but I don’t go looking for demons and I don’t go looking for demons.

I think the whole thing about the devil, let me read a passage in Peter and we’ll leave it at this. But Peter tells us in chapter 5 that we have an adversary that is the devil and that’s just a fact. And he says here, be sober, be vigilant, first Peter 5’8, because you’re adversary, the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom we may devour. Then in verse 9 it says, whom resist how steadfast in the faith. So if you’re steadfast in doing what’s right, what the Bible tells you to do, you’re going to be just fine.

Thanks Robin. We appreciate that call and we’re going to go now to Tim and Lake Worth for it again on the east coast of Florida. Tim welcome to Bibleline. Good morning Dr. Hank, how are you? Good. Good, we miss sharing you on the radio over here. Well, we’re still trying. It’s been difficult for us to find a station that has the time open and that can end up we can afford. Okay, why any while? I’ll get to my question.

I’m a little confused about something. Number one, the original holding place in the Old Testament was in the center of the earth called Paradise. Is that correct? Well, for the believers it was paradise. For the unbelievers it was a place of torment. It’s all called the whole place is called Sheol, a hollow place in the heart of the earth. Saved and lost went there, but there were two separate compartments in the heart of the earth. It’s described well in Matthew, rather Luke’s Gospel chapter 19, beginning in verse 16, Christ pulls back the curtain on the unseen world and you see two individuals, a rich man who’s an unbeliever dying, a beggar named Lazarus who’s saved and he dies.

And they both go to the heart of the earth, but one goes to a place of flame and torment, and Lazarus goes to where Abraham and all the Old Testament saints work. But when Christ died, he went also down into that paradise part where Abraham and where Lazarus the beggar was and where the dying thief met him. And after three days, he opened up paradise and took it up to heaven. So there’s nobody that’s a believer in the heart of the earth anymore, but the unbelievers still remain there collectively a thousand years of price when they’ll be brought up in cast in the house okay now he took them into heaven is this uh…

like a massive twenty eight fifty one christ gave up his that is when uh… he gave a sampling of the resurrection but i think that that uh… it’s difficult to pinpoint it with its exact same instant in time i don’t think we’ve necessarily say that But the story is very plain in Ephesians 4, 8 through 10. I would recommend you read that where it says that Christ led a group captive out of the heart of the earth and he went down into theront of the earth and he led this group up captive and took them far beyond all the visible heavens to heaven itself.

Okay my big question is if I were to die this very moment and I go to heaven, what’s I believe is called the third heaven. And if I died today and went to heaven when I have a body, when I eat, so forth and so on, and there’s a big difference between that heaven and the new earth. Okay. And what happens is you’re absent from the body, present with the Lord. Second Corinthians 5 is a great chapter to read.

And it says you’ll be really bodyless without a body until the event of the rapture. when all of the believers of this age, Pentecost till the Rapture, will receive their resurrection bodies and those which are alive will be caught up and given their resurrection body on the way up. So I’m going to get my new body at the Rapture. Now the Old Testament saints are in heaven today because they were taken up out of paradise to heaven, but they will not get their new bodies until seven years later the second coming.

That’s when the Tribulation Saints and the Old Testament Saints get their bodies. So you will be bonded us for a time. Now you’ll go to heaven, you’ll be answering the body, President of the Lord, but the new Jerusalem, which is the heavenly city, that we will actually go to, will not really be revealed. He said, until the new heavens and new earth are created, and then the new Jerusalem will actually then come across the heavens and actually I believe orbit upon earth and that will be our home, our heavenly home.

But I think when you die you go there. It’s in the third heaven like you said, but it will eventually orbit the new earth. Well, not a whole lot is told to us because we are not privy to know that, but we get a good glimpse of the new heavens and new earth in Revelation chapter 21, chapter 22, and we know that obviously those chapters tells us that there’s no death and no sorrow and no pain and no sickness and all those things are gone.

Okay. That’s good news. Okay. All right. You should really help me out quite a bit and look. I hope so soon. Thank you so much. It’s time for our break and we’re going to have to go to break and come back and do a second and a half hour. So I hope you’ll continue to listen and don’t change that now. And if you have internet, catch the whole program on the internet and we’ll be right back in just a moment.

Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live from Tappaforta from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I pastor and we look forward to meeting you if you ever get a chance to come by you’re welcome to do that and we have our Resource Center open up every day till about 4.30 in the afternoon you can come by on a Wednesday or on a Sunday and worship with us on Sunday morning I have an adult class that a lot of people like to sit in and then at 1030 we have the morning worship.

But guess what? If you’re anywhere in the world you can join our Sunday worship by going to the internet. That’s right. We send out our worship service live on the internet and we have people all over the place. We know from Sweden, Norway, Germany, England and all across America had a fellow in our Our prayer meeting last night that was watching last Sunday in San Diego, California came by to visit us last night at our prayer service. So we know that people all over the country are watching our worship service.

And then it goes into the archive and you can go to right now and see last Sunday’s sermon and the past four or five months of sermons are sitting there. So you can watch the video and hear the audio and I hope you’ll take advantage of some of those things. By the way, the summer time is the lean time for giving, and we certainly could use your help to shore up our finances over the summer. And if you wouldn’t mind, you can call us and ask us for an envelope to be sent to your house.

You can send a gift in by mail, or you can give a gift by credit card over the phone. But we sure appreciate your help here as we go through the summer. again. We are simply trying to get this message out as far as we can to as many as we can until Jesus returns. We had a wonderful email yesterday from people in Kenya, Africa that listened to Bibleline. And last week we had one from India listening to Bibleline on the internet.

That’s just bosed by mind. We’re reaching out all over the world with this wonderful message of the Gospel of Christ through Bible. So pray for us and if you can call our operators or standing by you can give a gift by credit card over the phone and you can also call and ask for that unload to be sent and hopefully get a resource sheet while you’re at it so that you can look at our resources and maybe order things that will really help you be effective as a Christian and grow and we have available.

We just printed up a brand new bunch of resource lists to list all the things that we have. We’re going to rejoin the stations now that have been on break into the second half hour Bibleline. So keep that radio if you’re tuned right where it is and maybe get somebody to sit there with you and listen to the program. And we’ll be joining the stations right now into the second half of Bibleline. So hold on. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr.

Lynch from a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back for that break and this is by the line and it’s exciting to be with you. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church. and by the miracle of the modern-day technology, we’re able to be in your car with you or in your home or wherever you might be listening, and of course on your computer to be able to bring the program to you.

Thank you for listening and thank you for being a part of our Bible and Family Thank you for praying for us. We hope that you’ll take advantage of all the things we have. We just started a brand new class on the Gospel of John. we taught, 2 hours this week on. on Tuesday night. And for five more weeks we’ll teach two hours per Tuesday a total of 12 hours of teaching. You might want to order that CD series. The first two got off to a start.

People didn’t want to go home. They get so excited in these classes that I think they stood out in the parking lot for another hour and a half. So in any case, we hope that you’ll call and get a resource sheet. It also may be called in order the CD series of that. Our pictures are on the internet. You can join our worship service on Sunday. If you go to the home page at bymalineministries.org, if you click on the camera, you’ll find a blank screen in the middle will come up.

ette doesn’t come live until Sunday morning between 11 and 12. So if you’re looking at that, you can watch it for days and nothing’s going to happen. If you want to see the past services, go to your left, click on the little button that says archive and there you’ll have a listing of four or five months from the sermons and you can click on that and then watch them. By the way, you can right click it and then go to zoom and go to a full screen and if you have a big monitor, you can fill up as big as the monitor you have and have a theater presentation of our worship service and the whole family.

And some people do that. They tell me they put me on a big 50-something inch screen and everybody in the family watches on Sunday morning. But by the way, you can go there any time of week. But if you would like to join us on Sunday morning, we have people all across the country and in Europe that are watching our Sunday morning service live. Check it out. onlineministries.org or .com. Also, the summer months are lean months and most Christian ministries suffer a lack of giving during this time.

And so we’re asking if everybody would step up and help us during the summer months. Would you consider sending a gift to Bible and helping us through the summer months of now July and August? And hopefully everything comes back online in the fall in September. In any case, you can give a gift by credit card over the phone if you want to call in on our 800 number. You can also call in and ask for an envelope to be sent that will have our address on it so you can mail a gift in to Bible-ing.

But it’s wonderful to be able to bring these programs to you. And the only way we can do that is, of course, to have our listeners help. This is Thursday, by the way. And tonight we’re on television. If you look at 630, we’re on Direct TV nationwide on Channel 321. That’s tonight at 630. We’re on Channel 321, Direct TV, World Harvest Television Channel 321. At seven o’clock, we’re on all across the West Coast of Florida. So if you are in the West Coast of Florida, anywhere between Fort Myers-Crestle River over to Orlando, you suspiculnerypes, yourientillance hig ingred#### and we’re on at seven o’clock this evening.

And of course you can find those programs on the internet as well on my website plus our radio programs and etc. Well, we’re going to go to the phone lines. We have a bunch of people who have been very patiently waiting since the first half of the show. We have Paul down in Sarasota and Paul, welcome to Bible Enya on the Air. Yes. Thanks for waiting so patiently. No problem. Thank you. You’re on the air. What’s the question? Yeah, just back to the subject of the parables concealing truth.

It seems like that passage is saying that Jesus does not want… Well, you know, guess what? He is doing something that I think you see explained over in Matthew, I think quite well, and that is if a person is wise in their own conceits, then it seems like truth gets kind of filtered out for them. But if they’re just coming humbly simply and seeking truth, they’re going to find it. Jesus prays right after telling this very same thing over in Matthew in chapter 11.

He says in verse 25, at that time Jesus answered and said openly here, I thank the old Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou has hid these things from the wise and prudent. He is a child who can understand the truth of John 3 16 and become safe. You know, an IQ of a genius and not be able to comprehend what the Bible has to say. Yet a child can understand the truth of John 3 16 and become saved.

And I think that’s what it’s all about. If you aren’t really seeking truth, you can read the Bible limit will make no sense. I think another great verse you might want to write down as you just ponder all of this, Paul. is first printed to 14 where it talks about the unsaved man. It says the natural man. We see that if not the things of the Spirit of God neither can he know them. They are foolishness unto him because they are spiritually discerned.

And boy, isn’t that true. You talk to somebody who is unsaved. Oftentimes they will say, boy the Bible is a lot of foolishness. Or the Bible doesn’t make any sense to me. That’s a tip off to me. They are probably not saved. And so what do I do, I immediately try to lead him to Christ. And I have people tell me all the time that once they get saved, it’s like the light turns on. They begin to read their Bible and begins to start to make sense.

They don’t learn the whole Bible in one night or in one month or in one year, but all of a sudden it becomes alive for them and they begin to understand things and it’s exciting. So I think this is what’s going on there. It’s not that he doesn’t want people to be saved, but you must want to seek him. Obviously, the Bible says if you reject Christ, Christ like a stone will fall upon you and crush you, but if you fall upon the stone in humility and seeking and want to know truth, then the stone will deliver you.

Christ is the stone and he’s the rock. When you fall upon him and trust him as your only means of salvation, then you’re saved by building on the solid foundation of Christ being the rock. Very good. All right. Thank you. You’re so welcome. 70710 thank you Paul and I understand the confusion that comes from that. We now have, let’s see, your Tony in Plant City Florida and Tony welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Good morning Hank, how are you?

Good. last night was in Mark chapter 10 17 through 31 and guess what he would say I give up what about the good master and why are you calling me good when you know what I mean oh the same thing I covered in Matthew yeah look at that well what do you know it’s sometimes the Lord works that way a lot of people tell me something I’ll teach on but it’s a very question that a lot of people had and and I just, it just like the Lord matches it all up.

Yeah, well I just thought I’d throw it across it. Well do you have another question today or I thought you wanted to share that? I thought I couldn’t hear you. Well do you have another question? No I was just wanting to bring it up. I wanted to bring it up earlier when you were talking about it at the first episode. It’s hard to get through. We have a lot of calls today. Thank you Tony. He was, had a question in a study I answered it already from the parallel passage in Matthew, chapter 19 today.

If you didn’t catch it, you can go back in the internet and play today’s show again this afternoon. It should be up in the archive about two or three o’clock in the afternoon. We have Armando in St. Petersburg on the line. Armando, welcome to my line. I sure do. I would good to hear your voice. All right. Same here. I was reading a script the other day and I need to help. He will chapter 3, the Bible. But I would like to find it for me and see it please.

All right, I’m there. What is the question about? You know when the writer of Hebrews said that Moses was over the house of that and then after that it, but now Jesus over his own house. and so… Who’s house we are if we hold fast the confidence and rejoicing the hope from into the end Okay, I’m not that’s very good. You know the Bible tells us that our bodies become God’s temple and the moment you trust Christ God comes in and dwells in your body or Christ or the Holy Spirit and He says, here’s whose house we are.

If we hold fast the confidence and rejoice in the hope firm of the end. What he’s talking about here is if you depart from the Lord as a Christian, then the Lord might take away your house. In other words, he might take away your life. And then you will no longer here on the earth be his house anymore. He dwells in this body. And it says several times in Corinthians, it says in chapter 6 verse 19, what? No, you’re not, that your body is the temple of God, which is in you, which you have of God and you’re not your owner, you’re bought with a price.

Therefore, we’re to glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which belong to God. He’s purchased this at the cross. So what it’s saying there, in I Corinthians 3, it talks about it too, that if you defile this temple, which is our body, the temple of God, then God will defile you and he might take your life. So it’s talking about to have this body of yours remain as God’s temple. You need to be careful that you don’t have God take your temple away from you, the body that Christ dwells in.

So it’s talking about physical death. It’s not talking about loss of salvation. And I know that those who believe you can lose your salvation like to take it that way. We’re going to go to Patsy now in Winter Haven, Florida. and Patsy welcome to Bibleline. You’re over there in the middle of the state. Patsy, are you there? Yes sir. Alright, this is the phone, not the radio because it’s a 20 second delay. Okay, thank you. Alright, what’s the question?

Okay, I called him about a month ago and asked him how to explain God to my eight-year-old granddaughter. Yes ma’am. And he told me to use the story of Bethlehem. My granddaughter wants to know how God actually comes to be. And I really didn’t know, and I kind of need his help because I’m going to spend next week with her. Okay, that’s great. Well, God has always existed. And I know that’s a difficult concept perhaps. But there’s the same as the concept of infinity that we have in mathematics and so on.

He has no beginning. He has no ending. If you read over there in Hebrews, it talks about a fellow named Melchizedek. We believe that is Jesus. And it tells us there, as I believe Melchizedek is Jesus who appeared to Abraham back there in Genesis 14. And it tells us here he has no father, no mother. He has as far as being God, that is, of course, as according to the flesh that he took on, Mary was the mother of that flesh.

But otherwise it says he has no beginning, no ending, no father, no mother, and that he is endless in his existence. So he’s always been and always will be. And I don’t know that there’s any easy way to say that to a child. Over to my mind how I’m going to explain that, or when she asked me that. But I think you might want to read that from the Bible, say to her, here’s what the Bible says. talking about Jesus and it says here he is God and he has no father, has no mother, has no beginning, no ending, but he lives forever.

Now that’s not true of us, we’re all going to die, but God is the one that lives forever and of course then we can connect with that and say the only way we’re going to be able to live forever is to have God grant that to us through trusting Christ. When we trust Christ then God gives us eternal life. Okay. Well, I know she did tell me that the school she goes to. She told her the Big Bang Theory.

She kind of slapped her hand together. And I said, well you don’t believe that, do you? And she says, no ma’am, because you’ve been telling me different. And I said, that’s good. But not that I know of. You know, so she didn’t even know about the evolution theory, you know, which I had to explain to her. But the God thinks she has a mother and a father, you know. And it just kind of throws me. You know, I just didn’t know.

Well, I would go to Hebrews 7, verse 3, Verse 3 that he is without father, without mother, without descent, either having beginning of days or end of life and he lives eternally. And so that hopefully will help, especially if she sees it coming from the Bible. Okay. Well, I did tell her, and I just lost it, but you have to have faith. That’s it. You have to trust that Christ died at the cross and pay for your sin, then God gives you.

That’s the truth. That’s wonderful. Okay. Well, I think you very much. Keep listening over there in Winter Haven. I’m sorry. Keep listening. The Bibleline. Oh, I will. I’ll every day. All right. See you later. Thank you, Bob. That was Patsy in Winterhaven, Florida. I’m Dr. Englinscherman, this is Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. Tonight’s our television day. You can catch us at 630 on World Harvest Television Channel 321. That’s on Direct TV at 7 o’clock all over the West Coast of Florida.

From everywhere from Fort Myers Crystal River over to Orlando. We’re on cable and just scan those lower cable channels. You’ll probably find this right there at 7 o’clock tonight. So I hope you’ll tune that in. We’ll be back, of course, on Bible and tomorrow here. If you have questions, you can call in the number here. It’s 1-800-576-3771. We have Orlando calling in from Orange City, Florida. And he asks about Isaiah 6520 about the New Earth. The Bible talks about it in Isaiah, and then I’m not remarkable how that there’s going to be a New Heavens and New Earth.

He says, will the earth be totally destroyed? Well, it tells us in 2 Peter 5, 10, 3, 10, rather, 2 Peter 3, 10, that the elements will crack apart. And apparently will be set on fire and renovated by fire so that the new earth will be absolutely have no remains of the contamination of sin on the Earth by humans and by Satan. So in any case, it probably will be reconstituted. And so I don’t know that it’ll be totally destroyed.

If so, how will human survival obviously were into eternity at that point? All the saved are with the Lord and all the lost are cast into the everlasting make of fire. You see that in chapter 20 and it’s It’s not until chapter 21 of Revelation that says, John says, I saw a new heavens and a new earth. For the first heavens and the first earth were passed away. So it’s already after Christ winds it up at the end of the millennium and all the saved are then with the Lord forever and all the lost are cast into hell, then the earth is destroyed.

So not a problem about survival. But when we come back, we’ll be able to live just nicely in our glorified bodies in the New Jerusalem and also enjoy the new earth. Thank you Orlando for calling in from Orange City, Florida, probably listening on a station out of the land, Florida. Gloria in Bradenton, Florida calls in and says, could you please explain reprobate? My son says God told him he was one and he was going to help. interestingly the word reprobate means disapproved or unapproved.

Now if he is not a believer then yes indeed he will go to hell but if he has trusted Christ then he is going to heaven no matter what God says in John 6 37 that he would never cast you out for any reason John 6 37 if you have come to Christ and trusted him as your Savior. And better than that, verse 39 of John 6, Christ said it is Father’s will that he would not lose one. So God is the one that keeps you saved and he will never be lost.

Now, a Christian can be reprobate and that really means this approved. Let me just quote a great verse for you, Gloria. In 2 Timothy 2, 15, it says, study to show they are self-approved. Well, the opposite of reprobate or being disapproved is to be approved. And so believers can be approved if they are studying the Bible and then they are rightly dividing the Word and putting the Word into practice so that they are workmen that need not to be ashamed because they are doing what God told them to do as the Bible outlines what they are doing.

So the Christian though that is not living for the Lord will stand at the Judge of the Institute of Christ and find himself disapproved and suffer the loss of reward and eternity. So reprobate doesn’t necessarily mean you are going to hell either. It’s talking about believers who will He said, I have no works that are approved that will bring reward and will suffer loss of reward. So 2 Timothy 2 15 talks to the believer in says study to show yourself approved.

The opposite of the word translated reprobate in your Bible. And it means approved as workmen that need not to be ashamed. Believers will be ashamed if they haven’t lived for Christ at the judgment of Christ, but they’re still saved. But the degree of reward in heaven is given out of heaven. based upon your deeds. We have Tim now and Pinellas Park, but I don’t know what line is on. I think I’ve lost Tim. We’ll find out where Tim is and get Tim back up on the line here.

We now have Terrence calling from Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. How wonderful. We’re glad to have more listeners from Georgia calling in. He says, please explain Romans 2 and 12-15, you always clear my mind with your easy to understand answers. We will financially support you soon. Thank you, Terrence, for that nice compliment and we’re so glad you’re able to hear us up there in Fort Ogilthorpe, Georgia. I’m going to have to get my map out and check that out. All the questions about Romans chapter 2 in verse 7, and I’m almost there as I turn in my Bible here.

Romans chapter 2 verse 7 says, to them who by patient continuance in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality and eternal life. Well this is talking about if you are seeking, and I think the key word in that sentence If there is seek, you’re going to find Jeremiah 2913 says, and you shall seek me and find me when you shall search me with all your heart. I think that verse expresses that. So if you’re seeking the truth, it’s saying you’re going to find the truth.

You’re not saved by all the things that mentions here. It says in verse 7, let me read it again, by patient, continuance, and well-doing. The key is on the next word, you seek. As you just do the best you can with the knowledge you have. If you seek God promises that you’ll keep your life till you hear the truth about how to be saved through trusting Christ as Savior. So I hope that helps. And also a little bit further down, I think you were asking about verses 14 on here.

It says, when the Gentiles who have not the law do by nature of the things contained in the law, these having not the law are a law unto themselves, which show the work of the law written in their hearts. It’s talking about here Jews and Gentiles and the Gentiles who get saved. So the evidence of that in the new birth that they have the laws of God written in their hearts. In other words, we serve and do things from the heart not because we’re looking at the Ten Commandments and it says, now shall not, now shall not, now shall not, now shall not.

So hopefully that will help. Tim apparently came back and left an offer question. We’re going to go to Tim and Pinnell’s part, offer. He says he who endures to the end will be saved. in Matthew 24, 13, and is talking about the tribulation period after the Rapture, and if you’re a believer and you manage to endure to the end of the tribulation at seven-year period until Christ returns, then you’ll be saved physically to live into the millennium. It’s clear in the context, it talks us about in verse 22 of that chapter, that Christ will shorten the tribulation at this seven years of length or otherwise all human flesh on the earth will be destroyed.

So he really interrupts Armageddon and prevents the earth from being destroyed and those that remain till that time that are alive and endured of the end will be saved to live into the thousand year reign of Christ. Hopefully that answers your question. Jim, we now have Steve in Seminole, Florida. You’re on the air Steve. You’re on the air Steve Steve you’re on the air. You’re on the air. Just don’t listen to your radio outside. Oh, sorry Can you shed some light on?

Joe chapter 40 around person 16 16. I think talking about prehistoric dinosaurs I don’t believe so Steve. I think he’s talking about animals that we still have around or may be extinct but I know a lot of people are trying to make a point that they are. And if they are, obviously they were around, I believe, prior to the flood. But I think really all the dinosaurs were made extinct in Genesis 1-2 when God judged the earth and destroyed all life.

And that the seven days of Genesis are a re-creative week. I have several CDEs about creation and go through those passages and the many other verses that talk about it as well.
