And we hope that you’re enjoying. We get some wonderful notes in here from you all and we thank you for calling in. Today I’m going to answer a question from Murray’sville, Pennsylvania.
And he says, I’ve been listening to Hank for several months now. And he says, I have a dilemma. Here’s my dilemma. He says, why should the Scriptures let us or tell us to be ready for the second coming by addressing us as believers when if we are already believers we will be coming back with Christ at the second coming if we were raptured up beforehand. This makes no sense. Well the answer to that of course is, and Mark is the one who writes this, is the fact that you have to rightly divide the word of truth.
You have to separate between the first coming and the second coming and you have to separate between the Rapture and the Second Coming. Those that are being told to be ready for the Second Coming are those that will be left behind at the Rapture and get saved after the Rapture. They will be getting ready for the Second Coming when Christ will actually free up this world from the curse. The earth will blossom as it rose. The earth will be at peace.
nations will learn more and more and Christ will rule over the earth. Now we of course are told that the Lord is coming back for us at the Rapture. So we are Rapture ready and if you are a believer you are going to go up in the Rapture but certainly we want to be found pleasing to the Lord when he snatches us up at the Rapture but they are totally two different events. One of the big mistakes that people make for example if you go to Matthew chapter 24, Matthew chapter 24, it tells us here about a passage where most people get this wrong.
It says there will be two in the field and the one will be taken and the other left. Two will be grinding at the mill, the one will be taken and the other left. This is not talking about the rapture, but this is talking about the second coming. And what is interesting here is that most preachers are preaching that this is the rapture, but if you read carefully in the context, it’s not talking Mark about the rapture. Here you find the one that is taken is killed, slain, but the ones that are left are left to live into the Millennial Kingdom.
Now that’s the opposite of what happens at the Rapture. At the Rapture the Believers are taken and the unbelievers are left behind, but at the Second Coming it is the unbelievers who are taken in judgment and killed and the Believers are left behind to enter into the Millennial Kingdom. Look, if you will, at the context. It says here in this wonderful passage, and we’re in Matthew 24. It says in verse 37, As the days of Noah were, social also the coming of the Son of Man B.
This is clearly talking about the Second Coming, comparing it to the days of Noah. In verse 38 it says, As in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the ark. Verse 39 says, And knew not, and knew not, and knew not until the flood came and took them all away. Well what group was taken away by the flood? It was the unbelievers, and what happened to them?
Well they all drowned. Once you could tread water for over a year, did you know that the flood waters remained on the earth for well over a year? It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. But the waters continued to rise because it says for the next five months the Great Fountains of the Deep were opened up and water began to come forth. You know today they’re discovering with the satellites that there are really oceans underneath the land masses.
In fact, there is a huge body of water underneath the Sahara Desert. All these fountains of water were opened up and the earth was completely flooded. In any case, the flood took them away, and the sun came to the sun. Then immediately following it says then, when the Christ comes back into the Second Coming, two will be in the field, and one will be taken in judgment. What I have done in verse 40 is the word taken. I’ve drawn a line back to verse 39 to the word took because the ones that are taken are taken in the way the flood took the unbelievers and destroyed them.
And then the other will be left to live into the millennium. Verse 41, the same thing, two of them shall be at the mill and the one shall be taken. I’ve taken the word taken, circled it, drawn a line back to verse 40 to the word taken and back to verse 39 to the word took because these are taken in the way that the flood took into the millennium. the way that the flood took the unbelievers in the days of Noah.
And the ones that are left are left to enter into the thousand year reign of Christ. Now also we know this happens after the tribulation. Look if you will at verse 29. Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened and so on and so on. Then verse 30 says, then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn and they shall see the Son of Ben coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
So we learn here that everybody on the earth will see Christ when they come and he will be visible, whereas at the rapture nobody sees Christ except the ones that are caught up to meet him in the air. And so if you’re living at the event when Christ comes back at the Second Coming, everybody on the earth will see it. And Christ will kill all the unsaved and only believers will be left behind to live into the Millennium. But at the Rapture, nobody sees him except the ones that are caught up, the believers, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
There’s so many differences. You know, at the second coming, the earth will be judged. And we find that he judges and slays all the unbelievers, but at the rapture there is no judgment. He simply is evacuating believers from off the earth. And so anywhere between Pentecost and the rapture, we’re given information about the rapture. And if you’re a believer, it says in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 that if you believe that Jesus died and rose again, you’re going to be in the rapture.
You’ll be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. And I hope that you’re going to be in that group, Mark. But if you are not a believer and left behind, there is a potential for you to get saved after the rapture during the tribulation. And then if you become a believer, you will You will… Obviously, hopefully, be prepared to enter into the Millennium. There will be so many diseases and famines and wars that there’s a good possibility you might be killed.
And also, we know the Antichrist will be killing Christians, beheading them for their witness. So you may not make it all the way to the end. The Bible says the one that endures to the end of the tribulation period will survive or or live to live into the millennium if you’re a believer, but if you’re not a believer, you won’t. There are no angels. It says in 1 Thessalonians 4 about the rapture, the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven.
No angels are mentioned at all. But when you talk about the doctrine of the Second Coming, the Bible says He comes with all of His angels, and it says He sends forth His angels with the sound of a great trumpet. that is in verse 31 and Matthew chapter 24. So it is clear, and you know the Old Testament obviously focuses on the Second Coming, and it talks about the Lord coming back, destroying unbelievers, and only believers being left behind.
For example, Zachariah chapter 14 talks about the Lord coming back. When does he come back, when all the nations are gathered together against Jerusalem to battle and he will come back and fight for Israel, destroy those nations and establish his kingdom here on the Earth. It says in verse 4 of Zechariah 14, his feet will touch down on the Mount of Olives and it’s going to split into half. But if you jump over to verse 16 of Zechariah 14, it says it shall come to pass that everyone that is what?
Left, left, left, left. Remember we just read a moment ago, two in the field, one is taken and the other is left? Well, notice here what it says about the ones that are left. Everyone that is left of all the nations which came up against Jerusalem shall even go up from here to here to worship the king, the Lord of Host and keep the feast of tabernacles. So the ones that are left survive to live into the millennium, the ones that are unsaved are killed and the previous verses talk about the Lord coming back in destruction and destroying the unbelievers.
At the Rapture, the unbelievers are left behind. It’s a lifter for the following seven years. But at the Rapture, it’s only the believers that are taken up to meet the Lord in the air. Whereas at the Second Coming, it’s the opposite. The unbelievers are taken and killed. The believers are left behind to enter the Millennium. You have to really write the divided word of truth or you really get thoroughly confused, Mark. I would recommend the Schofield Reference Bible, which you have the wonderful notes by Dr.
Schofield on how to rightly divide. We have his book, Whitely Dividing the Word, on our website. That’s right. If you go to my website, BibleLineMinistries.org.com, you’ll notice on the left side it says online books. We have three books printed there in their entirety. book on evangelism that I love so much is all right there. You don’t have to buy it. You can just read it right there on my website. You can also print out on your printer on the different chapters that you want to focus in on.
Also, the second book we have there is called Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth by Dr. C. I. Schofield. It’s marvelous. And it’s right there on my website. Check it out. Also, somebody else yesterday was asking about a concordance, a strong concordance that gives you the Greek and Hebrew. We sell those in our Resource Center here. But if you go to my website, go to the Bible we have right on the website and it has the strongest numbers right next to each word.
You click on the number, it brings up the Greek or Hebrew word and boom, it’s all on my website. You don’t have to go anywhere. If you have my website, you got it all. Check that out, BibleLineMinistries.org.com. I’m Dr. Anclinschroom. This is Bibleline. If you’re not a believer, you’re in trouble. way. At the Rapture you’ll be left behind. At the Second Coming you’ll be killed. Only Believers will enter into the Kingdom and only Believers will be Raptured out. At the Rapture there’s a seven-year time difference between the two.
I hope you can get the difference that we have a wonderful book here by Tim O’Hail called The Rapture. One of the best presentations I’ve seen and you might want to add that to your library. I also did 12 hours of teaching on the Rapture covering the pre-tribbed, the post-tribbed, the mid-tribbed, the partial tribbed, the pre-rath tribbed, the post-tribbed, and so on. All the different views about the Rapture and you’ll find it a very fascinating study. We go through all the verses and I think you’ll find it exciting.
Again, I’m Dr. Englund. The phone number, if you’d like The fact that that was today is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We’re now going to go to the phone lines. We have Brad in Clearwater. Brad, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Pastor Lindstrom. Good morning. I have a question for you. I was listening to your conversation with Mark and I’ve spoken with Boyden Christians who have different viewpoints on the you know the tribulation and the rapture and all like that and I was just at a curiosity wondering what category when you say to the people who are waiting on the coming of the Lord, what category do they fit?
Because I just assumed that anybody that was left population is unsafe. I’ll hang out with you to your response by radio. Okay Brad, a person who is left behind… …the person who is left behind with the Rapture obviously is lost. And there is opportunity for them to get saved after the Rapture during the Tribulation Period. And so that’s exciting. that millions will get saved. And you wonder, well, how in the world can that happen if everybody that is saved is taken up at the Rapture?
And of course the answer is, according to the book of Revelation, God will send back two Old Testament prophets. Moses and Elijah are both coming back, and they will preach for three and a half years during that tribulation period. And through their witness, 144,000 Jewish men will get saved. And then according to Revelation 7 verse 9, millions of all nations and all kindreds and all tongues will get saved as a result of their evangelism. So for those who do get saved, during that seven years, they’re told to watch for the second coming.
But obviously, as Mark had it right, he’s heard me say, we will come back with Christ at the Second Coming, we that are living this side of the Rapture, and if we’re living when the Rapture happens, we’ll be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and we’ll be forever with the Lord. But then it starts off with zero saved and then millions will get saved during the Tribulation, including millions of Jews, which is exciting. God is going to return back to His purpose for Israel and He will establish them as the head nation when He He comes back, of course, all unbelieving Jews at the end of the seven years will also be slain along with all unbelieving Gentiles at the end of the tribulation period.
No unbelievers will enter into the thousand year reign of Christ. All right, we have Christina and she’s calling in from Dr. M. Sinner, Ohio. Welcome, Christina. She’s leaving an offer a question. He says, I have a question about Luke chapter 4 verse 5, and it’s a great verse. Let me just turn there real quick. I’m moving now toward that Luke chapter 4 verse 5 says to us, and the devil, I think of us as the wrong chapter, doesn’t sound like the question you’re asking matches up here.
But let me read it anyway. 5 of Luke chapter 4 and the devil taking him up into a high mountain Showed on him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time Well the question says is fear him referring to God or Satan well, I think we have obviously the wrong verse For the question here, so I don’t really know what you’re talking about Christina but we find in this passage in Luke 4 it’s the temptation of Christ and Satan is the God of this world and he bought a five the offers all the kingdoms of this world to Christ if Christ would only fall down and worship Satan of course we know that Jesus did not fail in these three temptations of Satan but it’s interesting because Satan is still the God of this world and has been since the original creation
We’re going to go now to Mike in the land Florida and Mike welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Thanks very much for taking the call. You just mentioned a book about where you wrote that. You talked about all the different raptures at different times pre-post. What’s the name of that book that you wrote? It’s not a book. It’s a 12-hour teaching on CDs. So you can order the CD set and it’s really been helpful for a lot of people.
We go through all of the different positions that different people teach cover all the scriptures that they use and show what the Bible really is saying as we were just talking today about rightly dividing the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming is great and most people talk of them as being the same event when they’re not. Okay. So, do you like an order online for app? Yeah, it’s online. Just, what are the Rapture set of CDs? I think there are 12 cities and we usually just try to fight all the pieces.
It will be $60 for the shipping. Okay, well thank you and if one other question has been studying it makes my brain tired. It’s got to be possible because the Bible talks about both the election and our meaningism we guess as that’s true so it’s got to be possible that they’re both true somehow. Can you shed some light on that for me? Well the truth about election is that God has elected to save all that would believe and deal Moody said it as simply as you’ll ever hear.
He said the The Whosoever wills are the elect, and the Whosoever won’ts are the non-elect. But let me just read the verse. And most people don’t read the full verse, so they don’t read the context, and they get all mixed up. But this is a neat one. It’s in 1 Thessalonians chapter 2, rather 2 Thessalonians chapter 2. And it says in verse 13, But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, be loved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation.
Well, most people stop right there, but they need to continue on because it says, through sanctification of the Spirit, that’s God’s part and your part, belief of the truth. So in other words, God chose, before the foundations of the world, to save all that would believe, but chose not to save those who would not believe. So the elect are those that trust Christ is Savior. Once you trust Christ, then the Bible says you are predestined to go to heaven, you’re predestined to have a body like Christ’s body, your predestined to be with the Lord forever and ever and ever.
But he chooses based upon our acceptance of the gospel message. That’s kind of my brain tired and I think takes me away from the Word of God many times. Amen. But thanks for telling me that. Thanks for expounding on that. I appreciate it. by now that was Mike in the land for we have Orlando in the land for it all right and so we’re going down to Orlando and he is in the land for it okay Orlando welcome Welcome to Bibleline.
Yes. Question on Revelation 5, 6, 7 spirits of God. I don’t know if he has information on that. Sure. Well, the seven spirits are really the one and only Holy Spirit as he… he is seven fold in all of his attributes. Most Bible scholars take you back to Isaiah chapter 11 where you can see it for yourself. And if you have your Bible there and your pen, I’ll kind of guide you through this. Go back to Isaiah chapter 11.
And here it talks about Jesus being born from the lineage of Jesse, who is the father of David. And a branch which would come out of his roots and this of course is the Messiah. Verse 2, and the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him. So get ready with your pen. If you have your Bible open to Isaiah 11, 2, the Spirit of the Lord, that’s number 1. The Spirit of wisdom, number 2, the Spirit of understanding, number 3, the Spirit of counsel, that’s number 4, the Spirit of might, that’s number 5, the Spirit of knowledge, number 6 and the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord, number 7.
So there you have the Holy Spirit in his fullness and you have all 7 characteristics there outlined in that one verse. So the seven spirits are the one in self-same Holy Spirit. And I think this verse sheds a lot of light in Isaiah chapter 11 verse 2 where it talks about Jesus having the Holy Spirit come upon him and empowering him to do the things that He did as he is a man, but he’s God and the Spirit of God empowered him as a man to be able to accomplish the things that he did.
I hope that helps. Does that help? Alright Orlando in the land. We now have Angel and Angel is in Tampa. Welcome to Bibleline Angel. Good morning. I think you were actually a question. Question, you’re talking about chapter 24 Matthew and it’s kind of incredible because there was an earthquake in Peru, 8.7, so large scale earthquake and you’re talking about processing and you say one of the things happened and then it’s going to come. So do you believe? leave that we are living in the end time.
Well, absolutely. The frequency of earthquakes and the fact that they’re happening as the Bible says they’re in diverse places or different places, we had one just also in Hawaii of all places. And they’re happening all the time, all over the world. In fact, there’s a website on your, You go on the computer and find out and it gives you the Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Well, I’m ready to go. I think the morning is coming. Okay. Okay. That’s all right. We only usually hear about the ones that are big like a 7 point or 8 point like this one improved but they’re happening daily and I think the frequency is increasing about it.
I’m ready to go. I revelation that rapture and the Lord is going to come out. Well these are all signs in me. In 1924 of the Second Coming, an effect that they’re happening even more than seven years because the Rapture happened seven years before that tells us we’re really close. I’ve got to run here at it’s break time and we’ll come back and so don’t change your radio dial but stay tuned and after this short break we’ll come back and do the second half hour of Bible and thanks for tuning in.
We’ll be back in just a moment. Don’t go away. I’ll be right back. Don’t go away Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englunds from Mrs. Bible and it’s wonderful to be with you again. Thank you for tuning in today and we appreciate you and all of our listeners. Thank God for all of you. You’re the ones who are heroes that pray for us and we certainly believe that God does answer prayer and the fact that we’re on the air at all is the result I think of the believers who pray for Bible and every day and also your gifts are the ones that keep us on the air.
We have no other source of income, believe it or not. We’re totally dependent upon our listeners to keep us on the air. Your gifts and your prayers are the reason why we’re on the air today. Maybe you’d like to be a part of helping Bible and certainly here in August in the summer months they’re the lean time for giving all churches and all Christian organizations experience a shortfall during the summer and we’re not an exception we are also experiencing that.
If you could help us get through this difficult summer time that would be great we would really appreciate it. So you can do that by calling and giving a gift by credit card of the phone. You can You can also do it by mailing us a gift here at Bibleline. You can also help us somewhat by ordering resources from our resource center. We do get a little bit on that. But obviously a gift directly to Bibleline is where you’d be the most help to us.
And we thank you. We had one lady last month actually write us out a check for $1 and I thought, how sweet of her. And you know, it cost her, I guess, what, forty-two cents to mail it, plus the envelope. And I don’t know if her bank charged anything for her to have a checking account, but it probably cost her a dollar to give us a dollar. But we thank God for her. And I know that she wanted to help, as this she could, and I always think of the widow and her might, when I think of those who give like that.
And we’ve had others who just give a little gift. We certainly take note of that and we thank God for you no matter how small or how large your gift is. But, you know, if you could give a generous gift here during the summer months, that would help us out immensely. Thank you. And we thank you in advance for giving. By the way, we’re going to do the second half hour Bible end now, so I hope you’ll keep you ready to tune right where it is.
And we will do the second half hour and make sure that you are aware that this program is on the Internet. And you can catch this program 24 hours a day, the complete one hour, whenever you like, and even live right now by going to the Internet to BibleLineMinistries.org, click on the spinning globe and you’ll have it. Here we go. We’re going to return to the stations that have been on break and stay tuned. If you like to call by the line and ask Dr.
Lindstrom a question, you can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Welcome back to the Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from the Calvary Community Church from the we look forward to being with you each and every day and we love to hear from you. You’re welcome to call in to write in and even to drop by. Our resource centers open until about 430 every day come knock on the door.
Say hello. We have people do that all the time. You can also come by on a worship day and worship with us. We’d love to have you come by. We’d love to have you come by on a Sunday or a Wednesday. This Sunday will be the third Sunday of the month and we always have a dinner on the third Sunday. Come be my guest at 1030 for the service. Bring your family, your appetite, your Bible. Stay for the lunch that will follow.
And this Sunday is going to be a baptism Sunday. We’re going to take and baptize a group of people in a lake just north of Bible and headquarters at a church members home. They have a beautiful backyard all shaded under trees and the green grass goes right down to the lakeside and you step out of this white sandy bottom and we’ll be baptizing quite a number of people. We’d love to have you join that. If you’ve not got a home church or a place where you can go and feel comfortable getting baptized, I would be honored to perform that baptism for you.
ORK He is directly at the baptism site, or you can follow us from the church, come and join us for worship and then stay for the luncheon and then go out to the baptism site with us. We are certainly excited about being on the air with you today and we have a bunch of people that are waiting to get online. And then we have a lot of all-fares that we are certainly wanting to get as many of these answers as we can.
We’re going to first go to Denver, Colorado, and there we have Adam waiting on the line. Adam, welcome to Bibleline. Hi, Dr. Listen. I have two questions for you and then I’ll like, the first one is about the temple. Does the third temple need to be built where the Dome of the Rock is located at now? No, it doesn’t. It’s going to be built, I believe, to the north of that. If you are able to look at a picture of the Temple Mount Platform, you’ll notice that the Eastern Gate is actually directly straight ahead of where the ancient temple stood.
And that’s north of both of the two mosques. I was just there in March, and I stood in an open area where I believe the temple will be rebuilt. 883 And I look straight to the east. and I saw the amount of olives, but between that the gate there that leads out of the temple area, the eastern gate which is walled up today is sitting right there. So it’s north. Also Ezekiel seems to imply that the third temple will be built and there will be a wall of separation around it that will keep it separate from the profane areas which are the areas where the two mosques are.
And so apparently God anticipates that during the tribulation period we’ll have this defiled area where the Arab mosques are and at the same time we’ll have the third temple being built there as well. Let me see if I can find that verse for you real quick. It says here in Ezekiel 42 verse 20 that he measured it by the four sides. It had a wall round about 500 reads long 500 abroad to make a separation between the sanctuary. That’s the third temple and the profane place.
That’s where the two Arab mosques are. So apparently it will be built north of the two mosques and it will be a wall that will separate it and that’s what Ezekiel says and I’m sure he’s got it right. I listen to you when you have Gershan on, I believe last week sometime, and who is preventing them from IslamicCatalans? deems the lack of willpower on the part of the government of Israel. 768 as Gershan and I were talking, he says, we have weak leaders.
He looks like that Netanyahu is in line to become the next head of the nation and he’s gutsy and he might be the one to say let’s build it. Okay. We’ll have to wait and see how it plays out, but right now the government just doesn’t want to, they’re giving everything away and they’re just trying to make peace any way they can. They don’t want to take a strong stand on anything. It seems. And so I think a lot of Israelis are really disappointed in their leadership.
They’re not taking a strong stand. Okay. Well, thank you for clearing that up. My other question I have for you is why do some believe Enoch will be the other witness that? we turn in that is mentioned in Revelation. Well some believe that Enoch is the other witness, but I don’t believe so. First of all, the tribulation period is the last seven years of the Old Testament Age of Law. That began at Mount Sinai and the two prophets that were from the Age of Law beginning at Mount Sinai.
Armoses in Elijah, Enoch was prior to the flood. He was a picture of the rapture being caught up and he never died, but I don’t believe so. Then we also find the two prophets associated with Christ that is second coming in the Mount of Transfiguration in Matthew 17 are Moses and Elijah. You see, Christ they’re transfigured as he will be in his second coming. And who do you have standing there on the Mount with Christ is Moses and Elijah?
Then also in the book of Revelation chapter 11 when it describes the two witnesses, it says that the one will have the power to pray and shut up the heavens so that it will not rain. Elijah is the one that did that and the other will have the power to turn the waters to blood and smite the earth of the plagues. Moses is the one that did that so I could go on and on but I think it’s quite clear that Moses and Elijah are the two.
Okay. All right. Well thank you very much Dr. Pithnick. You’re welcome Adam. Adam out in Denver, Colorado calling in today. We We have Greg in Tampa, Florida. Greg, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello, Greg. Yes. You’re on the air. You’re on the air. Okay. All right. Enoch right now. And my concern is my question is on to die. And since Enoch and Elijah both never died, I thought it would make sense that since the two witnesses do die in a raid, that those would be the two witnesses.
Well, that’s the argument that most people make that want to make Enoch the other one, but You’ll read over in Jude verse 9, apparently Satan wasn’t too happy that God apparently has preserved the body of Moses so he can come back. And we find there Michael, the Archangel, gets into a dispute with Satan and Satan is apparently calling foul play. This is not fair. Moses died. He’s not allowed to come back. And I think Michael just said, look, the Lord rebuked thee.
But apparently God has, nobody knows where the body of Moses was buried. God hid that from everybody. And apparently his body has been preserved. And Satan disputed with Michael about the body of Moses. I think that’s the answer there. God has preserved. Jude verse 9. The book of the Lord. Yeah. One other question. I don’t know if you’ve looked at any of the things that Walid Shabbat has been writing and talking about as far as his feel about the end time, seeing that it did all with the names of the places and the names mentioned are all Islamic nations.
I just curious about your thoughts. your take on his thoughts. I’m not really familiar with what he’s saying. So if you give me an example I’ll tell you what I think. Well, he was talking about, the one thing I read was something called YLF Jihad. And in that he details a lot of the history of the Israel nation. And he talks about how the nation of Israel has never actually taken The British were left behind by whoever left it.
It was sold to them by the people that were living there. That’s not my question. My question was he was just talking about it. He was talking about how I think it’s in Second Teflonians where God talks about that they were given those that didn’t believe were given the lie or would believe the lie. He was mentioning, and his example was that people… Starting with our, you know, our top leaders in the US think that Islam is a peaceful religion.
And I just don’t see any proof that Islam is a peaceful religion at all. Well, you’re right. It never has been. It’s always conquered by the sword. So I think it’s interesting that that could be it. And he also talked about the mark of the beast could easily be. If you look at the Islamic terrorists, they’re always wearing something on their forehead, and sometimes they’re wearing it on their shoulder. Like that could easily be the mark that be, and it could be what we’re talking about.
A religion that’s very, very similar to Christianity, but it’s obviously a fraud and it’s obviously kind of opposite love versus hate. And the whole thing, I just… I just think it’s kind of interesting when you see that. Well, I think you’re right. But I don’t think that would be the mark. The mark has to do with buying and selling. I think it’s more like a chip or some kind of mark where you will transact money. like at the guest pump or in the grocery store.
And I think Islam of course is going to be the burden for everybody on the planet because obviously it’s in your face as a major threat today. But I don’t think it’s the mark of the beast. I think the beast, the antichrist, comes out of America, comes out of the US of A. And if you get my series on Revelation and Daniel I point out why but I don’t think he’s coming out of Islam at all and we do thank you very much for your call and now we’re going to go to Chuck and he is in Chattanooga Tennessee.
Chuck welcome to my violin. Yes sir. I heard you speak in a week or two ago about drinking wine and alcoholic beverage and I wasn’t sure if you’re standing on that. You said you know and I’m not sure if is what you said is okay to drink but just don’t get drunk. Well, I’m saying this today I’m giving approval to drinking but you know today what we drink is pretty much manufactured to get you drunk and the Bible forbids drunkenness but the drinking in the days of Christ was a very very mild alcohol and those days that was a protection I think against the little microbes in the water that you would drink because even today In most Middle Eastern countries, you don’t want to drink the water.
You don’t want to do that in Mexico or other countries either. You either drink bottled water or boiled water or a hot coffee or tea that kills all the germs or a very mild wine would also do the same thing. But the Bible forbids drunkenness and the Bible says, well, one of those that carry long at the wine, God says back in Proverbs, you’re going to have trouble. And so it’s, I don’t drink anything. but i don’t know that i knew that was your standard personal standards you know people some pastors you know talk about drinking you know and uh…
you know so for drinking so forth i used to drink myself and a wife and i were talking about the other day you know what you said well who did you ever get drunk and i said well you know what it what is drunk i mean are you one tenth drunk or i mean i i don’t know i know my my uh… thinking was you’ll somebody and you know a lot of people can drink one beer and get drunk another person drink 10 beers or whatever.
Right. So they have to, what is drunk? You know, I don’t know what that means. It means you can’t walk, you fall down, or you vomit, or you know, what does that mean? Well, what it means over there in Ephesians 518 is that you don’t come under the control of the alcohol. And so if you’re, if it’s controlling you, then you’re drunk. So I would, the best thing is to stay away from all types of drugs and alcohol things that would impair your thinking.
A lot of people just take medications and they often say, I don’t drive and take this medication because that’s the same thing. You are impaired in some way by that medication. It says it can cause drowsiness, dizziness and don’t drive while you’re taking this medication and that’s good advice. You shouldn’t. Okay. Well, just wanted to get your thoughts on it. I can’t. And thank you very much. Obviously Christ drank wine, and most people back then did, but it was a very, I think, a very, very mild wine.
The brewers today, they pop up at alcohol level because I think today, especially in America, people I think drink. to get drunk and they want the high alcohol content, but the biblical wine was a very mild wine, and you had to really consume quite a bit of that before you would ever get drunk. We have Mary in Byrne, New York, and she calls in with this offer question. She says, I was having a discussion regarding fornication, and the man I was talking to said in the Old Testament that no one ever married, they just made a covenant still binding today.
no marriage necessary today. Well, that’s certainly not true. In Genesis 2, you have Adam and Eve were married by God himself. He instituted the institution of marriage. And basically, throughout the Old Testament, they had a marriage ceremony and a marriage contract that went along with that. Obviously, Jesus was the child in a family where Mary and Joseph had come together and were espoused to each other by a marriage contract. Then, of course, there is a marriage. Christ went to the marriage of Kaina, so there was a wedding celebration, a wedding ceremony, but also prior to that, a marriage contract was signed.
It was legally by me, and it was to be told the death of the partner. And so the Bible says that you are bound by that tell death. And so in the wedding ceremony, all the time, it says tell death do we part. So whoever is telling you this is really not correct. They did have a writing contract for marriage and to be divorced. They also was a piece of literature that they would write right to record the divorce.
In Deuteronomy you’ll find, for example, in chapter 24 it says here that if they were to divorce, let them write her a bill of divorcement and give it into her hand. So they would write out a divorce document and that’s when divorce would take place. Mary, I hope that helps a little bit, but certainly in 1 Corinthians 7 it also says, in order to avoid fornication, get married. So I think it’s pretty clear in the first couple of verses in 1 Corinthians 7 that we’re not to commit fornication, but in order to avoid that a person should become married.
Thank you so much. Rick Down in Rossville, Georgia, on a recent program, you said, K. Arthur teaches you can lose your salvation. I called her staff and they said she doesn’t teach that belief. Well, I would beg the differ. I’ve read her literature and she, you know, they say it subtly. They, they, I’ve had people tell me that they’re as pure as I am because they believe that they will not depart away from the Lord. But if you call them on it, if you departed away from the Lord and you didn’t anymore, then they say, oh, then you would lose it.
But I’m never going to do that. So they’re so confident in their works and that they’re going to continue faithful until they die. But they think that they’re secure and going to go to heaven. So it’s a subtle thing. And that’s basically what she’s saying. That if you continue faithful to you die, you’re going to make him clear. But if you departed from the Lord, then of course you could lose it. They don’t like to present that. Many times a lot of these preachers or teachers don’t really want you to know what they really believe because they want to please everybody.
And that’s what we read the other day in Isaiah 30. It talks about how the people would tell the preacher, preach unto us smooth things. We don’t want to hear the truth. We just want to hear what will tickle our ears. And that’s what we’re living seeing today in 2 Timothy, chapter 4, verse 3, is that they would not endure in the last days sound doctrine, but they would heap to themselves teachers that would tickle their ears and they would be turned away from the truth, the word of God, and be turned into fables.
So somewhere here I have one of our books and I underscored it and I could probably find it if I dug real hard, but it’s in print. I know I have it. I have read it off and I know that she believes you can lose it. In fact, I’m recalling several places where I’ve seen her say that in print. I’ll have to dig that out for you. If you really want to see something in print, I can produce it for you.
But, hey Arthur, I believe you can lose your salvation. Whoever you talk to on there is trying to please your ears. I’ll guarantee you. Thank you so much. We have now Brenda and Brenda is in St. Petersburg and Brenda, and welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Good morning, Dr. Hank. I was just listening to you talk about to the man about being in stuff. And you said something along the line of medications and things that way. I am on server for different kinds of medications to try and stay alive and I don’t understand what you’re trying to say there.
What I’m saying is that you shouldn’t drive while you’re taking those medications. Would you agree? Well that’s an obvious that you should. Okay. Well that’s what I’m saying. might have to take them and you’re under that control, but it’s the same the Bible warns about as to what constitutes drunkenness with alcohol is when you are under the control of that alcohol. And then when you’re under the control of drugs and the doctor and the pharmacy say don’t drive, you’re going to hurt somebody and yourself.
Right. Well, I’ve ridden so that’s not a chance. So, there’s not a whole lot you can do about it. You probably need those to survive and I don’t think there’s a problem with that. But you need to adhere to the rules of it. Don’t get your car when you’re on those medications. Okay, thank you very much. You’re welcome, brother. Keep listening. We now have Colleen and she is in Jacksonville, Florida and Colleen welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Good morning, dr.
I’m sir. How are you good? Yeah? Well last night I was driving home again I stumbled across that madman Harold camping and I got stuck off listening to him again and he Confused me again. He’s still teaching about people coming out of the churches and not sure where he’s getting it from still But he said something last night about the wheat and the pears So I think that may be where he’s getting it from. So I’d like you to explain to me and I’ll take it off here because I can hear you better.
What is exactly the meaning of that story? Because I’m confused about that myself, the wheat and the tares. And he’s using that as a method of saying for people to come out of the church. And I think he’s totally wrong on that. And I wish people wouldn’t listen to him, but they do unfortunately. And it’s just that he’s scaring me because he’s preaching into all the world about that we’re all full of the devil, we’re in the churches. If you would please, sir.
Hi, Will. Over in Matthew 13, one of the parables that Christ gave was the parable of the wheat and the terrors. It is talking about those that look like Christians, talk like Christians, walk like Christians that are really not Christians, and the Lord will separate one day those that are saved from those that are not saved and will have the appearance of being saved. So it tells us here the the one who sows the seed is is Christ and the world is the field and it says the children The good seed are the children of the kingdom, but the tears are the children of the wicked one.
So that’s Satan and then the Enemy that so them is the devil and the harvest is the end of the age which really is the end of the tribulation period After the rapture it’s really talking about what is still yet to happen and the reapers are the angels and the angels apparently will Be sent out at the second coming and gathered together all of the unsaved which are the tears And cast them into a furnace of fire. They’ll be cast in the hell But the wheat will be gathered into his garner.
In other words, they’ll be gathered where Christ is. And these that are saved in verse 43 of Luke, or other Matthew 13, these shall shine. Therefore, it says, then shall the righteous. That’s the believers or the wheat shall shine as the Son in the kingdom of their Father. But the terrors will be cast alive into a furnace of fire, and there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. So I think today we can see it already, although the real fulfillment of this is after the rapture during the tribulation period, but right now there are people in churches that are not saved that look like Christians and talk like Christians, and then there are the genuinely those that are genuinely saved.
And sometimes you just have to ask a lot of good questions to find out whether somebody is really saved or not because they might say, yes, I’m a Christian or I’ve been this and that and the other and no one has to give you some pretty good answers. But some of the good questions to ask are, are you absolutely assured right now that if you were to die you’d go to heaven. This is where you really find out. If they say no, then they’re not saved.
Or if you ask them, can you lose your salvation? And they say yes, then they’re probably not saved because If you can lose it, it means you have to work to get it and keep it. And that’s salvation by works. And if you’re working to be saved, then you will not be saved. So that’s a major. Dr. Neal Ehr. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’ve had fun. I hope everybody listening has trusted Christ. If you haven’t, just tell the Lord, Lord, I’m a sinner.
I don’t understand a whole lot about the Bible, but I trust Jesus right now. As my Savior, I believe He died and shed His blood to pay for my sin, death, and full. Was buried, rose again from the dead, and I trust Him right now to forgive my sin and give me the gift of everlasting life. Would you do it? I hope you would. It’s the most important decision you make. And then, choose the most important decision you make.
Choose the Live for Christ, which is whether rewards and the joy come in by living for Christ. If you can help us, send a gift to Bible and by mail or call and give one by credit card over the phone. Well, I’m Dr. Englund, this is Bibleline, and we’ve had fun being with you again today. And again, we hope that everybody is paying close attention as you study the Bible to realize that the doctrine of salvation is obviously the basic doctrine that everybody really ought to understand, but I find that most people are very weak in understanding what the Bible says about salvation. And they don’t recognize the counterfeit when they hear it. If you add anything to what Jesus Christ did, or take away anything from what Christ did at the cross, then you’re hearing a false message.
And that’s the warning in Revelation 22, 18, and 19 that we’re not to add to or take away from the revelation of Jesus Christ, the revelation of who He is and what He’s accomplished for us at the cross. And He’s the one, of course, that paid it all. All of our sins were paid for by His death and His shed blood, and then He was buried and rose again from the dead. And when you trust Him, God saves you eternally.
It’s the best news in all the world. a lot of people have mixed it up with a combination of Christ’s death and works or living the Christian life as a means of ultimately getting to heaven. And my friend, you will not be saved if you are trusting in your works. It says in Galatians 5 and 4, Christ has become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law or by works. If you’re attempting to be saved by the law or by works, Christ will count nothing for you.
That means you would go to hell. And I played with people for their souls that they would trust in Christ alone to be saved and then live for Him because they are saved and not because they’re trying to become saved. We have to run, but we’ll be back again on Monday. In the meantime, you can go to byblindministries.org and listen to radio programs all weekend long, and I hope you will. Our programs are sitting there from about a year back and you can catch them all.
