If you don’t have a Bible, then of course you can always listen and maybe go back and listen to it again later and look up the passages as you hear the Bibleline program again as you go to the internet and you can get it there. Let’s go to Romans for a moment today. In Romans chapter 11, we have an interesting verse here. It says in Romans chapter 11 verse 29, the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
That really means that they are irrevocable. It really means the phrase there without repentance is a word in the Greek amethamilo-tos which means that God does not change his mind. So if God gives you the gift of everlasting life and we know that Romans 623 tells us that salvation is the gift of God, then God doesn’t change his mind and take it back later. And that’s of course good news isn’t it? Once you become saved, you become saved forever.
You cannot be lost and you are saved forever from the moment you get saved in and it’s forever and ever and ever. Well, in any case, that’s a great verse to memorize. Romans 11, 29, the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Remember, Romans 6, 23 says the gift of God is eternal life. The gift of God is eternal life and you’ll find that if salvation is a gift and the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable, then certainly you’re never going to have your salvation.
Revoked is not great to know. So that is, of course, good news. And I’m excited about the fact that I’m saved eternally. Plus, in John chapter 6 and verse 37, Jesus tells us, Him that cometh to me, I will in the name of God. I will in no wise cast out. That means he’ll never cast you out for any reason or under any circumstances. And that’s got to be comforting to know. We also find that Jesus said in John 639 that he would not lose one, not even one, whatever he lost.
So once you become saved, you are saved forever. It’s important to know, and I think, Satan wants to rob us of our assurance and steal away from us the wonderful, wonderful assurance that we can have that we know every day that we’re saved and we’re saved eternally through simple faith in trusting in what Christ accomplished for us at the cross. Our salvation is not dependent upon what we do or what we do not do. It’s interesting in 1 Corinthians 3.15 it tells us that even if all of your works were burned up, if you did nothing, zero for the Lord after you were saved, that you would still be saved.
Isn’t that incredible? And yet that’s not what you hear out there. The popular teaching is that somehow you’ve got to keep on keeping on. You’ve got to keep on working at it. You’ve got to keep on climbing. You have to keep on keeping on right till the very end. And people say you have to endure to the end to be safe. They don’t realize this. They’re not talking about salvation and going to heaven there. It’s talking about deliverance from the tribulation period to enter into the millennium.
So once you trust the Lord, the Bible says you are saved forever and it’s not dependent upon our work. Let me quote that verse in 1 Corinthians 3.15 where it talks about the judgment seat of Christ And it says, if any man’s works, she’ll be burned. He shall suffer loss, that is loss of reward. But then it says, he himself shall be saved. But he himself shall be saved, gets ones by fire. He’ll still be saved. And that really tells us that a person could do zero after they have been saved, nothing.
And yet they would still be saved because our salvation is dependable on what Christ did and has nothing to do with what you and I do. If you attempt to add any works to what Christ did, then you have made void the plan of salvation and you certainly will not be safe. Those that are adding works seemingly with good intentions are really nullifying God’s plan of salvation and making it void. Let me quote Romans 11-6. It says, and if by grace, then it is no more of works.
Otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more of grace. Otherwise work is no more work. In other words, you can’t mix grace and works together. Grace by definition is the absence of any human work or any merit. It is unmerited, favor or mercy. And in that wonderful verse, it’s really saying that grace and works are opposites, and you can’t mix them. Like it’s daytime right now where I am, and since it’s daytime, it can’t be nighttime, otherwise daytime wouldn’t be daytime.
But if it were nighttime, it couldn’t be daytime, otherwise nighttime wouldn’t be nighttime. What I’m saying here is it can’t be daytime and nighttime at the same time. Do you follow what I mean? They’re opposites. So if you’re saved by grace, then you can’t be saved by works. But the second phrase of Romans 11, 6 really should scare those who try to add works to it because it says, if it be of works, then it is no more of grace.
My friend, if you add any works to salvation, you will have no mercy. You will never, never enter heaven. And that is, of course, scary, isn’t it? Well, there’s a lot of those who claim to be Christian and are not because they are trusting in Christ plus works. And when they are dependent upon their works, they will not be saved. That is exactly what it is saying in Matthew 722. So in Matthew 722, it tells us that there will be many, and that is of course at the judgment of the great white throne in Revelation chapter 20.
It says, many in that day will say, Lord, Lord. Dr. Christ, and they will then brag about the things that they have done their works and we find that they will say look how we’ve preached in your name and we’ve healed in your name and we’ve done many wonderful works in your name and Christ will say I never knew you I never knew you and that I once knew you and I lost you but I never knew you I never knew you and that is interesting because it was because of trusting in Christ, it was because they were trusting in their works to be saved.
Notice they brag in three areas. We preached, we healed, and we did wonderful works. Christ said, I’m sorry, wrong answer. If these people had only said we trusted, that you died on the cross and paid for our sins, was buried in the rose again from the dead, God would save you. And that is certainly good news. And obviously every believer is going to get in. But if you’re trusting in your works or Christ even plus works, then Christ will say, no, you don’t get in.
I don’t know you because you’re only saved by trusting in the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ. And we don’t have any part in that but to receive it. It’s not Christ died plus our good works. Christ died and that alone purchased our salvation. Christ tells us that He alone is the Savior. I am the way, the truth in the life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by me. I’m Dr. Englund’s from Mrs. Byblind. We’re going to go to the phone lines and we have several waiting right now and we’re going to go to Tony in Plant City, Florida.
Tony, welcome to My Blind Year on the Year. Good morning, and how are you? Well, I just got a couple things that I’d like to comment on and get your response on and hang up and listen. One of them is a lot of people get stunned when they hear that you don’t have to love Jesus to go to heaven. And they find that disturbing and I was wondering if you can comment on that. And another thing that I heard was when they talk about, I will and no one has cast you out.
Were they talking about just the apostles or are they talking about all of us? I mean what’s the deal with that verse because I’ve kind of heard that they were just referring to the apostles and not just everybody. Okay, Tony, obviously when Christ said he would not cast anyone out, he’s talking about every believer. He’s saying that if you come to him and that’s anyone who comes to Christ, he says, I will in no wise cast you out. So it’s not limited to a particular group.
He was speaking to a pretty considerable group right there when he was speaking and he was talking to an unsaved audience. As you see later, many of them walked away and did not believe what he said. But he says, if you’d come to me, then you will never be cast down. In verse 47 he says, very, very, I send you that he, that’s inclusive of anyone that believeth on me has everlasting life. So it’s forever and ever and ever from the moment you trust the Lord the Savior you will never be cast out, you’ll never be lost by anything that you would do.
It’s not conditioned upon our love for God, it’s not conditioned upon our church attendance, is not based upon our baptism or our allegiance to Christ or our works. It has nothing to do with anything in our part. It is solely and completely done by Christ. Let me give you a great verse. It’s Hebrews 1, 3. Hebrews 1, 3, which tells it as best I think as it could be expressed. But there are so many great verses that say the same thing in different ways, but Christ did it all.
And Hebrews 1, 3, it tells us that Jesus, it says here, let me get the exact verse, here it is. It says, when he had purged, when he had by himself purged our sins, when he had by himself, that means you and I have no part in it at all. When he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on Christ purged our sins by himself. It has nothing to do with anything we do.
Now, what we do for God after we become, say, brings about rewards, and we can suffer loss of reward. We can lose our joy. We can lose our testimony. We can lose our effectiveness. We can lose many things, but we cannot lose our salvation. And it’s not depending upon… Our love, for God, obviously, to try to say you have to love God to be saved is again something that is an addition on our part. And the Bible nowhere says that.
It says, whosoever believeth or trusteth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life. So a person really could not love God at all, but yet receive Christ by trusting that He died and paid for their sins because God loved them and received the gift of eternal life. And then it says in 1 John, we love him because he first loved us. Once you’ve experienced the love of God, interesting Christ, then obviously we learn what love is all about and we learn to love the Lord because of what he did for us.
But our salvation is not dependent upon any of those things. Sure to thank you for calling in Tony. And now we’re going to go to Albert in Bradenton, Florida. Albert, welcome to Bible Life. Hi, Father Hank. God bless you. And I’m pretty thankful to God that giving you this ministry for preaching the truth. And my question is about fasting, that when the disciples came to Jesus and they told and they couldn’t cast out demons. My question is, which way that Jesus told them to fight and pray so they could cast out demons and hang up and listen to you.
Thank you for that. Thank you Albert. In one particular case there, he told him that because obviously the demons weren’t going to be budgied out easily. But that’s really not a real issue for us today. I think that if we have to, we certainly can cast a demon out of someone, but our major objective is to win that person a Christ. Because if you cast a demon out of someone, the demon will just come back again. The Bible tells us that.
And sometimes they come back with more demons and it gets worse. you’re not doing anybody a favor by casting a demon out. Sometimes though, and I have dealt with people I think that have been demon possessed, the demons shut their ears and prevent them from hearing the gospel. So you need to cast the demon out, but you have a very short period of time where you can then get their attention and lead them to Christ. But if you just leave them with the demon cast out, the Bible says that the demon will decided to come back and he’ll end well and you’ll probably bring more demons with him.
I had a young lady a number of years ago that had demons indwelling her and she was told by the demons to kill her young baby. She had an infant baby and she had these desires to kill that baby and she had been to a number of churches where they were casting demons out. She said it only got worse. She seemed to have more demons in her and the desire was greater to kill that child of hers and she was resisting that with all that she had.
But when I got to her, I found out that she was not saved. Nobody ever attempted the leader to Christ. I led her to Christ and I said, you should have no more problems because once you trust Christ, God the Holy Spirit comes to endual your body and there is no demon that wants to be in the same body with a believer that has the Holy Spirit in them. Obviously they don’t want to be with the Holy Spirit and so sure enough she had no more problems.
She would stay in contact with me for a couple of years and she said she had no more problems with demons once she got saved because then the Holy Spirit comes in and the demons leave and they’re not coming back. So I really don’t concern myself with casting out demons. In a few cases, I remember one person, a lady, would speak in a different voice and she would become violent. She would grab her hair and pull out the hunks of hair.
It was an awful thing to listen to. She had a female voice, but when the demon spoke, it was a male voice speaking out of her. It’s kind of scary, kind of freaky. So I commanded the demon to come out of her in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and she gave became calm again. And I had about five minutes where she could listen. And that was my opportunity to lead her to Christ while she was a bright mind.
The demon was not there to influence her and to keep her ears stopped and keep her violent and agitated. And so I had my opportunity there to lead her to Christ. And that was the secret. Once you get a person saved, all the demonic activity stops and they are no longer under the influence of that demon. So I hope that helps and I sure do thank you for the call. And now we’re going to go to Dr. Anonymous who is somewhere roaming on the planet Earth.
We don’t know where, but Dr. Anonymous, welcome to Bibleline. How you doing, Dr. Hank Lindstrom? I’m doing good. How are you doing? You haven’t heard from me for a little while. Yeah, I know. I’m sorry. I can’t even hear that. You were talking about demons and stuff. You passed demons up before? Go ahead. I missed that question. Sorry. He was speaking about demons. Yes. I know a thing about demons. I’ve had spirits about demons. They turn at spirits speaking of my own.
All in person, or testimony is that Satan can get a grip on you. Let’s say if you are in a black sitting position or if a Christian are even if you are a sinner. But if Christians, he kind of oppress you and intimidate you and stuff like that with you. There’s no other way that would be in a stuff like that. And if your sins are not confessed to Christ, so Christ can deal with those sins and get rid of your bangs and the spirit of your message, and you’ll get you all missed up in the year and stuff.
And you have only Jesus. Blood and all the power of Christ can get rid of those spirits. So that’s why I become a skeptical when I’ve been listening to you sometimes. that you know if you try to do anything, you know, deal right and stuff like that. But see what you’re doing, you basically what you’re doing, you want to make sure that you don’t get in the barbed. So much saying until you mess around and these spirits can come at you.
So I wanted to make sure that I take a spiritual bath every day by confessing my sin to Christ. And then here, keep you clean on the inside and then you can’t be oppressed by these safe and experienced. OK. I… I agree with you. You cannot be in 12, but you can be influenced or oppressed by demon activity. And certainly as we are stand fast in our faith, living for the Lord, the demons stay far away from us, but certainly they can never come to enroll you as a believer.
As a believer, it says in 1 John 4.4, greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. So demons obviously cannot come and involve you. Thank you so much for calling us and good to hear that you are still out there roaming around Dr. Anamas. We now have some unfair questions. I want to go ahead and start taking some of these today. And again by the way, this is Thursday and it is our television day.
We’re on at 6.30 tonight on Direct TV nationwide on Channel 321. That’s World Harvest Television. And again tonight, we’re on at 7 o’clock all over the West Coast of Florida on CT and on the Christian Television Network. That’s from Fort Myers to Crystal River over toward Orlando and you can catch us at 6.30 and then at 7. 6.30 is nationwide. If you have Direct TV, you can find us at Channel 321. We have Sue in Lansing, Michigan and she says in the book of Job there’s a reference to how long Joe went through his sufferings or is there a reference and it doesn’t really tell us so we don’t know how long a period of time that was but I’m sure that it wasn’t over in a week or a month.
It was a long term thing I would imagine at least many, many months if not maybe a year to, but he went through a great deal and certainly suffered a great deal. So I don’t know of any reference that tells us how long. Maybe a listener might find one for us and call in, but I don’t think there is one. Thank you. We now have David in Richmond, Virginia, and he says, two creation stories. Genesis 1, 27 says, let us creep in our image, male and female.
Genesis 2 7 says God for men out of the dust of the earth and Eve then from his side. Explain the difference. One is a summary and the other one is a more detailed explanation. So in chapter 1 you have a summary of everything and then in chapter 2 it goes into detail about how God created a woman from the man. So there is no contradiction. You just have further detail. And the chapter two is the detailed explanation of how it all came about.
Thank you, David, and Richard, Virginia. Good question. Linda in Spring Hill, Florida, says, you said in the thousand years the believers hide their unbelief. The unbelievers will not be exposed to the world as to their unbelief. It will be Satan when he’s loose at the end that will obviously attract them and it will be revealed that these do not know the Lord as our Savior. So we know at the end of the millennium, Satan is loose, Revelation 20, verse seven through 10, tells us that he rounds up a huge army against Christ.
Who are these? I believe that they are those who are born during the millennium who have a sin nature inherited from Adam because they are still in their mortal bodies having children that are able to pass on that sin nature and the wickedness of the human heart is such that many will not come to know the Lord of Savior. So every dispensation in the Bible ends with man’s failure. The first dispensation out of innocence was in the garden, and we find that man failed in taking of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and the result that they were cast out of the garden as a result was the case.
And of course, every dispensation ends that way in the millennium is one that shows, again, the failure of man and the wickedness of the human heart. We’re going to have to go to break. We’ll come back and do a second half of Bibleline, and we hope that you’ll stay right with us. So don’t change your dial. Keep your radio dial tuned. Right where it is. We’ll be right back after this short break. So stay tuned right here where you are.
The Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund Striman. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks again for tuning into the broadcast. We appreciate all of you that listen wherever you might listen from. Thanks for listening and we hope that you’ll tell your friends. We hope that you’ll tell your relatives in other countries, in other parts of the states, with the Internet. They can catch the Bible and program in Japan.
They could catch it in Africa. In fact, when we were in Nigeria in the spring of this year, we met a number of pastors and congregations that said that they listened to Bible and on the Internet in Nigeria. And wow, what a thrilling experience for us to know that people are hearing us around the world. We get emails from India, from Kenya, from all around where people are listening and watching our programs on the Internet. That truly is exciting.
And so if you know people, missionaries or family or friends in other countries in other parts of the world, would you tell them about the Bibleline program and how they can be listening and watching wherever they might be in the entire world. I think it’s exciting. So far, 150 countries have logged in on the Bibleline website. And it’s wonderful because we’re reaching people all around the world through the web. We had in the end of June, we were looking at some of the stats, we had 29,000 people download that particular radio show.
I didn’t have a chance yet to go back and listen to what I had to say, but apparently a lot of people wanted to get it. So there are people listening, there are people downloading these shows that are listening to them again and again. And many of you tell us that, but I wanted to share that with our audience here that we have people that really are being reached through the Bibleline ministry. We need your help to continue this ministry because obviously we are financially supported by our listeners.
We don’t have any other means of support. And so in order to continue in your area, in order not to ever cut a program station, we need your help. And certainly this summer has been a tight summer force. We really can use your help. And if you could send a gift by mail that would be wonderful or you can give a gift by credit card over the phone, call our 800 number. We also have many resources any of those that you get would help us some but a direct gift to Bible and will be the most help that you could possibly give.
So consider that. We certainly aren’t trying to get your money. We’re trying to get the gospel out and we do need your help in order to accomplish that. I hope you’ll stay tuned with us now for the second half of the Bibleline program today as we will now return stations at a bottom break and do Bibleline part two.
Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline and we welcome you to the Bibleline program. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. We’re on the pastor. We look forward to being with you each and every day and we hope that you’ll be a regular listener and listen as often as you can.
If you have any questions, you’re welcome to call in. We have people waiting right now to get in on the program. You can dial our 800 number and call and we’ll try to answer your questions on the air. But you can also leave them off here. One of the ways you can do that is not only by calling the 800 number that we give out, but you can also go to the website and click on the radio page and there you will find a place already filled out for you to put your question and leave your first name in your city and hit submit and we’ll get it and it’s that easy.
Just go to BibleLineMinistries.org.com, click on the spinning globe and you are there. There you’ll have the page that will give you the place to type in your question. It’s real easy. Okay, we want to also say that if you haven’t helped us this summer, we’re still in August and we’re trying to struggle through this summer and get all our bills paid and come out on our feet for the fall. It’s been a tight time for Bibleline and we really could use your help.
So those of you that haven’t given that could would really be appreciated. We’re not trying to get your money. You know Paul said it best in Philippians 4 17, he said to the Philippians about giving, he says, not that I desire a gift, he says I desire a fruit that may abound to your account. So as Paul was soliciting money and he did, he said, I’m not trying to get your money. He said, I want fruit to abound to your account as they would give financial help to carry out the ministry, the fruit that Paul won to Christ was accruing to their account in heaven.
Can you imagine? Wow, you know, when you get to heaven, if you are helping Bible on whatever fruit this ministry accrues will be on your account in heaven. You know, when I first learned about this, I said, wow, this changed my whole opinion about giving. And I I sure wish I could have lived during the Apostle Paul’s time and had the insight to invest my giving in his ministry because look at the fruit that Paul had and I sure would like to have that on my account when I stand before the Lord one day and one of the ways that we can invest in eternity, one of the ways we can earn rewards is by giving but the Bible tells us about giving smart.
And 2nd John, it talks about if you give in a wrong way, you can lose out on rewards you could have had. It says in verse 8, look to yourselves that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we might receive a full reward. It tells us if you support, let’s say you’re giving to a ministry with a false gospel, then that’s a negative because you will not be rewarded for that. It says in verse 11 that if you bid them Godspeed, if you endorse their ministry, if you give to a false ministry, then it says you’ll be partaker, the Bible says, of their evil deeds, and so you will not be rewarded for that.
So you might be thinking you’re going to get rewards for it, but if you’re giving to a ministry that has a false message and if you’re giving to a ministry that is not really doing things for God, then you’re going to lose out. I’m not saying that you have to give the Bible on, but I am saying I know that we are trying to be as true to the Bible as we possibly can. We are winning lost people to Christ all the time and challenging people.
People are going into ministry, people are serving, people are learning, people are growing, people are getting back into the Bible as a result of the Bible on. And I’m just saying that we’re in need of your help and we’re not really looking to get your money. anybody any salaries here at Bible ed. So all that of your gift comes and goes directly into the getting of the gospel as far as we can get it. Anyway, I thought I’d just share that with you and let you make a choice.
But if you can help us, this would be a great time to do that. You can get on the phone and call our operators and give a gift by credit card of the phone or call an answer and I’ll look to email to you with our address and We will see that you can mail a gift in to Bibleline. Thanks again and we are now going to go to Jeremiah a caller from St. Petersburg. Florida. Jeremiah, welcome to Bibleline.
How are you doing? Good. I was going to ask you a question about the thousand year reign. What chapters could I find that in in Revelation? Revelation chapter 20 in particular gives us the length of that period as a thousand years, six times. And one chapter. And so there’s an earthly kingdom coming up. This will be a thousand years of make the Christ rule on this earth. as King from Jerusalem and it’s exciting. And I was listening to a pastor yesterday on television and they were saying that after Christ returned there would be no more life on Earth and whatnot like, do you know why he could have got that wrong or?
Well he did get it wrong because that’s not true. But when Christ does return, there will be the battle of Armageddon going on. going on. He’s going to engage himself with the armies of this world and defeat them and take over the planet from Satan. Then this role will come under his control and then there will be peace on earth and the earth will blossom like a rose during that thousand years. And the Bible says that the desert places will look like a garden and it’s going to be a marvelous place to live.
I think you’re welcome Jeremiah. Jeremiah in Saint Petersburg, Florida. We have Colleen in jackson bill florida and kalini welcome to my plan i’d get morning doctor and how are you good now listen uh… all ask the two questions and then i’ll get off again because i can always hear you better when i’m not on the cell phone well since you just mentioned about the giving part that struck me in my mind to ask that i mean there’s so many different denominations out here doesn’t matter if they’re penny-cost or whatever they are and You know, I have visited myself all of the different denominational churches.
I’ve always given my tide wherever I visited. But so that one question then would be that, that how do you know that there, you know, you can’t always, I guess what I’m trying to say, you can’t always tell that they’re teaching a false gospel if you’re not constantly in that church. So if you give your money to them, I mean, the first question would be, and since you brought that up, how do you know that they are teaching a false gospel?
And if they were later on, I don’t think God’s going to punish you for it. Then my next main question I called into ask today was about the name. Suppose somebody’s had a complete name change after marriage or something like that, and then you’re given one name at birth, but then you change your name later on in life. I’ve always just been curious, there’s something in the Bible that says God will give us a new name or something. What name are we going to be known by in heaven if we have changed our name from our birth name?
and I’ll hang up now and take the answer off there. Thank you, sir. Okay. Thank you, Colleen. Of course, I think you need to do your homework. You need to find out what a church believes. I have talked to people that have attended church for years, and when you ask them, they have no idea what their church believes. And I think that that shouldn’t be. Every church usually has some type of a doctrinal statement written out that you can read.
I would ask her that. One lady told me, well, my church doesn’t believe what you are saying that is wrong. And I said, well, would you get a doctoral statement and let me look at it? And then she gave it to me and I said, look at this. It says such and such and such and look how wrong it is. And she says, oh my goodness. She says, I’ve been attending here all my life. And I never knew they taught that or they believe that.
So you really need to do your homework can find out what you’re doing and where you’re giving so that you’re not giving incorrectly because you don’t want to be held accountable one day for not having paid attention. So God is going to hold you accountable in that way. And so I would actually say if you want a full reward like 2nd John verse 8 says, you need to give smart, live smart, do smart, everything in line with God’s Word and you’re going to get the maximum reward that God could give you.
But if you did an organization Godspeed and support them and encourage them, it says if they’re doing wrong, then you are partaker of their evil deeds. One day God is going to hold you accountable for having support of that and being a part of that. So you don’t want to do that. As far as changing your name, you can change it as many times as you want. God still knows who you are. And When you get to heaven, you’re going to have a brand new name.
I kind of feel that some people have already gotten their new name. Abram had his name changed by God to Abraham. We have Sarai. Her name was changed to Sarah. We have Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. We know that Simon had his name changed by Jesus to Peter. We know that Saul, who got saved, who had persecuted the church, was renamed by the Lord and now he’s Paul. And so there’s a lot of Those in the Bible that apparently have been given their new name already.
But it’s just like when you are born into this world, your mom and dad, your parents have the privilege of being able to name their child and they gave you a name that they wanted to give you. But when you trust Christ, Colleen, you become born again and God, as your father, has that joy of giving you a brand new name. Because now you’re born into your new name. his family and he becomes your father when you trust Christ the Savior.
So what a wonderful thing it is. I can’t wait to find out what my new name might be when I get to heaven. Although I think God has already changed my name. I was on my birth certificate. My name is Henry, H-E-N-R-Y. But when I got saved, it seemed like, and I didn’t do it. I just was a victim of it. He began to call me a nickname Hank. And I didn’t like it at first. And then I was reading my Bible and I said, well maybe that’s my new name and I accepted it from God.
And so basically for me, Henry reminds me of my life prior to my isolation and Hank reminds me of my life since I’ve chosen to live for Christ and I became saved. But I might be my new name, I don’t know. But we’ll get to heaven and we’ll all have a brand new name and it’s going to be a precious, special name that God gives us because we are born into his family. Thank you for that call. We’re now going to go to Cindy in Tampa, Florida.
Cindy, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Okay. Okay, Cindy, you’re on the air. Well, on the air? Yeah. You’re on the air right now. Did you have a question? Oh, yes. Sorry. Hi, Dr. Len. From all I have a question and then I will hang up and just listen. That’s fine. Okay. is these prosperity preachers, and I consider them rather false teachers. And I made a comment the other day to a friend about the new people article about Paul and Randy White being a false preacher to taking people’s money.
And she said that the people of their brains are Christ. But I was wondering is that correct? Well, I would question whether bringing them to Christ because I think they’re bringing them to Paul and Randy White. You know, their salvation message is, lose your salvation, works for salvation, and obviously that’s not the salvation plan that will get people to heaven. So I don’t believe they’re bringing people to Christ. I think they’re bringing them to a false message of prosperity here on this earth, but not to Christ.
So absolutely, if you do your homework, their message is not that you’re saved by grace through faith and not of works and they’re obviously practicing many things which are not biblical. So certainly I would not think that that would be a place where you’d want to invest your time or your money or your effort. Okay, great. Thank you so much. You’re so welcome. Thank you for calling in. And it’s amazing. Is it what a crazy world we live in here, now they’re both going to divorce and continue on in their ministries.
separate ways and what happened to the sanctity of marriage. I guess it’s been canceled in the Bible that they read. Okay, well we have the phone lines are open right now if you want to call it 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Jane in Texas calls in and she says, what What denomination did you leave in the past and what denomination is your church now? I think we answered that question yesterday, but I was raised in a branch or break off of the Lutheran Church and it was called the Swedish Covenant Church and they taught works for salvation, and the church I pastor, which I’ve been the pastor now for 41 years, a non-denominational church.
We founded it to be independent of any controlling group that would tell us what to preach. In many denominations, the pastor is obligated to preach the doctrines of that church. And so it really leaves you in a bind. And we wanted to preach God’s word freely without any restriction as to what we said that nobody would censor, What we said that we could speak freely with the Bible said, and that’s what we try to do on the Bible and radio program.
We don’t feel censored at all. We want to just speak out what the Bible says. Sometimes it’s not the most popular answer, but we believe it’s the answer that God has in his word. I’m always open to be corrected if you find that I’m saying something wrong and I bring it to my attention and I’ll get it right because I would certainly want to teach what God’s word says. The church I pastor is a Bible church and that’s it is totally independent, not independent of God but dependent upon…
God, but not dependent upon other men or organizations that will tell us what to preach or not to preach. We believe that the Word of God needs to be spoken without anybody sifting it or monitoring it or limiting what you can say. We’re now going to go to Miriam in Deltona, Florida and Miriam, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. How are you doing? I just wanted to comment. I just wanted to comment. Turn the radio down because it’s like we’re in the background.
Yeah, I just wanted to comment about what you were talking about, the sanctity of marriage. Yes. And as Christians, I mean, it is such a tragedy, exactly what you were saying, it’s the tragedy, whatever happened to the sanctity of marriage, what God said in his word. And I believe that many of the ministers that are preaching the gospel, they’re really preaching false because if people are looking, if the world is looking to the church for the sanctity of merit and they find that two believers are easily going into divorce court, I mean, what are we saying about God and His work?
So obviously, from my standpoint, because I’ve been married for 22 years, my husband wasn’t a believer and I was, even though I got into, I became a born and a believer during my marriage. I strongly stood on the Word of God that only God can deliver our marriage, can heal our marriage and it was based upon the Word of God. And for 22 years, I stood married because I love the Word of God. I believe that God’s Word is the infallible Word of God.
And that’s why as good so many years in my marriage was it was all about commitment. And even though my husband wasn’t a business like I was, but today he is. The thing is that it’s so sad that when you have two people that believe in the Word and who claim to be Christians and to go easily to the Word, what God are they really serving? Are they really serving God? Because if they’re truly serving the Lord and keeping His commandments, then they will seek out for help with everything in them so that they will not make God’s Word to become in vain.
It’s really sad to see that. And that’s not the only people that I’ve seen. I’ve seen other people in the ministry, like that, that are doing the same exact thing. And everybody watching and everybody in that congregation says, well, it’s okay if we split up, look at what our pastor did. So they make it real easy for everybody that are leading to do the very same thing. They’re leading them astray by doing that. Exactly. And you think about that.
It is so sad because we, you know, we stand on the Word of God. God, we said believe that God is able to do anything. Make it so more difficult when you go out into the world and you minister to the gospel and about healing and restoration and they look up to these people for, it’s basically the salvation and what it comes out to. I always say is that the reason why so many even Christian people are being deceived is because they’re not spending enough time in the world and seeking God’s faith because if they were to do that, they would not be easily deceived by anyone because you can take many advice but you know what when it really comes down to the heart of it you need to you need to obey God’s word and that’s the bottom line.
Amen. Miriam thank you for calling and your found us over there in Delta Beach. Oh Delta yes. Alright well thank you Miriam. You’re welcome. Okay that’s over the east coast of Florida, Delta and thank you Miriam for calling in and shooting straight with us there. We are now gonna try to take it on the her a couple of offer questions we do have more calls calling in 1-800-576-3771. Lisa in Clearwater Florida calls in and she says off air, what or will we know each other in heaven and the answer is yes.
And I believe that the Bible tells us that throughout. You know when Peter, James and John were taken up in Matthew 17 into a high mountain and saw Christ transfigured. Moses and Elijah stood there with Christ and you know they immediately recognized them. Now how did they know it was Moses and Elijah? They’d never seen Moses and Elijah. They had lived hundreds of years prior and I don’t think Moses had a big sign around this next saying I am Moses and Elijah had a big sign around his next saying I am Elijah.
I think there’s something about our resurrection bodies. I think there’s something about what will be occurring in the future that will just naturally know one another. It’s going to be exciting. So absolutely I believe you’ll see your relatives, you’ll see loved ones if they have trusted Christ and they’ll be there and you’ll be able to be with them and enjoy them and you’ll recognize them. Absolutely. Lisa, I hope that helps you and thanks for calling in. We now have John in Tampa.
John, welcome to my Blunner on the air. Hi, Dr. Lynch, Joe. The question on you were talking about, you basically, you don’t have to answer, but to say a Baptist church, but to say you were your church with something, something first Baptist church. Would you have to answer to the Baptist, you know, Florida? I’m not sure how that exactly works, but definitely you are going to be held accountable within that organization if you depart from what their practices and teachings are.
And it would be very difficult for you. That’s why I deliberately chose to have an independent church not bound. In some churches I know of one not too far away where the pastor tried to come clean on doctrines and began to teach the Bible and the denomination called him on the carpet and kicked their whole congregation out of the building because the denomination owned the property. And so they had to go meet in a shopping mall and begin a whole brand new church because they were kicked out of theall those people had bought and paid for the thing, but the denomination owned it and so the denomination had to control and they kicked him and all the people out.
Okay, my second question is did Dr. Stanley get the force some years back? Yes, he did and that was unfortunate. He has remained single. He did not want that divorce. He tried for years to restore that marriage. I don’t know many of the details but I know that his wife I I think had some mental problems and she just finally pushed it right to the end and they got divorced and his leadership and congregation wanted him to stay on.
Of course he would have to, he remarries, he’s out but he is allowed because it was not initiated on his part nor did he ever want this divorce. He tried very, very hard to keep that marriage together, but because he, they believed was the innocent party and is now going to remain single, they’re allowing him to continue as the pastor. I heard the same thing and I listened to him truly believe that he is in a, you know, a person of a pirate guard and got put in there for a reason.
And it’s always the whites go comfortable with them from the start, but that’s my opinion on that. Okay, John. Thank you for calling in today. All right. That was John in Tampa, Florida. We now have Robert in Daytona Beach Robert. Welcome to my blind You are on the air Robert I got a dial tone so I think Robert is not there and Do we have Robert on the other line here?
