We certainly thank you for calling in and we want you to know you can leave an all-fairy question if you like and thank you for being a part of our program.
Now I am going to go to our Bibles and we will take a look at the Scriptures. Turn if you will to the book of Revelation and we are going to go to Revelation chapter 1. And here we have the wonderful outline that God gives us for the book of Revelation. Revelation 1 it tells us that John was to write the things which he had seen, the things which are and the things which shall be hereafter. So that is the threefold outline of the book of Revelation.
Chapter 1 are the things which are past. Chapters 2 and 3 are the things which are present. And chapter 4 verse 1 on are the things which you are here after or are future. And that’s how the book of Revelation breaks down very easily. 2 and 3 are the things which are which have to do with this present age and you’ll see there Christ gives a message to the seven churches that literally did exist in Asia Minor and it’s a prophetic picture of the 2000 years of church history that has followed since Christ was here the first time.
When we get to chapter 4 verse 1, we believe we have the rapture pictured to us where it says, after this I looked and behold a door was opened in heaven and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me which said, come up hither and I will show you things which must be hereafter. So we learned here that at this point, The third division begins in chapter 4 verse 1. And after this, the church is no longer mentioned in the book of Revelation.
Why? Because the church has been caught up. Notice John sees a door open in heaven. He herds. Here’s the voice. It sounds like a trumpet, which is the voice of Christ. We saw that earlier in chapter 1. And the voice has come up hither. And notice John is caught up. A picture. of the Church Age concluding and the Church being caught up. What is interesting is that the next chapters all detail the seven years of tribulation that will follow the Rapture.
There will be seven years of the darkest hours of human history that will follow right after the Rapture. And chapters 4 through 19 are a commentary on those seven years of tribulation. So chapters 4 through 19 are really about the 7 years of tribulation to follow the Rapture. So if you’re anywhere in chapter 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and so on, right through chapter 19, you know you’re somewhere in the tribulation period. Chapter 19, we have the second coming of Christ at the end of that 7-year period of tribulation.
And then we have chapter 20, the Millennial Kingdom, the thousand-year reign of Christ. Millennium comes from two Latin words, Millie and Anum, meaning thousand years, Millie meaning thousand, Anum meaning years, and so Millennium, the combination of those two Latin words, gives us the word Millennium which means a thousand years. Six times in chapter 20 of Revelation, it mentions the length of this period of time that Christ will rule and reign on this earth. In chapter 20 at the end of it we have the destruction of this present planet Earth.
The Earth will be destroyed by fire. We have in chapter 21 John saying, I saw a new heavens and new earth for the former heavens and the former earth were passed away. Then he tells us he sees the new Jerusalem, which is the heavenly city, the city of the the living God that will come down from heaven to the new earth. I believe will orbit the earth and that is where you and I will live. Every believer of all the ages will enter into that city and we will live there forever and ever and ever.
What a beautiful description we have there of that city in chapter 21. Chapter 21 and 22 take us into eternity. So there’s how the book of Revelation breaks down. Chapter 1, the things which are passed having to do with Christ’s death at Calvary. Chapter 2 and 3, this present age, the church age, beginning with the church at Ephesus being a picture of the 1st century church. The church at Smyrna being a picture of the 2nd Third Century Church. The Church of Pergamos being a picture of the fourth century church right up through the eighth century.
The Church of Thyra-Tira, a picture of that eighth century church right through the Dark Ages right up until the time of the Reformation. Then you have the Church at Sardis, a picture of the Reformation Church and how the gospel began to go forward. And then we have the Church at Philadelphia, a picture of the Great of evangelism that took place in the 1800s and early 1900s. Then we have the last and final church, the Church of Laodicea, which is a picture of the last days in which we’re living in right now.
The church age right now is perfectly described by the Laodicean Church. We’re soon to be caught up and taken out of here, and that is pictured in chapter 4 verse where John sees a door opened in heaven. He hears a voice like a trumpet. It says, come up hither. John is caught up. And then he’s shown the things which are to be hereafter, which is the tribulation period. You know, we are living right at the end of the church age.
We’re right there about where chapter 4 verse 1 will take place, and there will be a door opened in heaven. There will be a shout, and up we’re going to go and meet the Lord. What is interesting is that we are very, very close. If the Lord were to come this year, most likely he would come on the Feast of Trumpets. The Feast of Trumpets is September 12th this year. I’m not saying the Lord is going to come this year, But if he does come this year, the most likely date.
For the return of Christ is September 12th, the Feast of Trumpets. So, we may only have about two weeks left and we’ll be caught out of here. Now please don’t misunderstand me. I did not say that Jesus is coming this year but that He could. And if He does come, He’ll come on that feast day, the Feast of Trumpets. And so I always at this time of year get a little bit higher up on my tippy toes I get ready to leave the planet Earth.
If he doesn’t come this year, I’ll be looking next year. If he doesn’t come next year, I’ll be looking the following year. We’re certainly told to be watching for his coming. If you’re a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and you’re not watching for the return of Christ, you are delinquent as a Christian. We are told 23 times in the gospels to watch for Christ’s return. If you’re not watching, then you are delinquent. You’re not following instructions. We are told to watch for His coming, and I think we’re getting very, very close.
I want to turn to Luke chapter 21 now for just a moment, and here Jesus tells us some very interesting information. He says in verse 25, there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars, Upon the earth the stress of nations with perplexity the sea and the waves warring Several things here, but he says in the last days just before he would return there would be signs in the Sun and in the moon and in the stars so signs in the heavens Certainly there’s never been a time in history like the time we’re living in now with the space shuttle going back and forth from space from space.
We have a space station manned at 24-7 right now in space. We have probes going out the different parts of the solar system, exploring and plans to go maybe and land a man on Mars. These are exciting times, certainly, and the Bible says there would be signs in the sun, the moon and in the stars. Then it says upon the earth, distress of nations. Boy, do we see that today, don’t we? The nations are in stress and are distressed, and it says with perplexity, which means without solution.
They don’t have a solution to the world’s problems. It’s a mess. And then it says, the sea and the waves roaring. I think it talks about weather. Weather changes, weather phenomena, we have had quite a summer. The worst flooding in America in 135 years. We truly are watching, I think, the signs unfolding. Now, if you look down at verse 28, what does Jesus say? It says, when these things begin, when these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads for your redemption draweth thy.
These are days to be watching, looking because Christ is coming back. What an exciting time that is to be living in. And I think we’re watching the signs all about us today. I hope you’re a believer. If you’re not a believer at the Rapture, you’ll be left behind for the darkest hours of Church history. If you are a believer, you’ll be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and you’ll be forever with him. Isn’t that exciting? And the key is simply that you trust Christ as your Savior.
It’s very clear in 1 Thessalonians the chapter that talks about the Rapture about being caught up to meet the Lord in the air. If you’re living, you’ll be caught up and transformed into your new body on the way up. And the key is in verse 14. It says, If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we’re going to be in the event. All you have to do is be a believer. It’s all been paid for by Christ’s death, burial and resurrection.
You are eligible to not only be saved from hell, but also to be delivered from the darkest hours of human history if you’re living as a believer when Christ comes and shouts. He will catch us up to meet Him in the air and will be from that point on forever with him. Salvation is always spoken of as a gift. Never is that violated. Here again we see it in 1 Thessalonians 4 in verse 14 and we find that wherever we look it says in Romans 6, 23, the gift of God is eternal life.
The gift of God is eternal life. Ephesians 2, 8, by grace are you saved through faith in Jesus Christ and this salvation is not of yourself. It is the gift of God. It is the gift of God. John 3 16 for God so loved the world that he gave. He gave. He gave his only begotten son. Salvation is a gift. Boy, was I glad to hear that when I heard it at 18. I said that is good news. And I trusted Jesus as my Savior and received the wonderful gift of everlasting life.
I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, this is Bible and we’re going to go ahead and take our phone callers. You can call us at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call. We’d love to hear from you. And we’re going to go right now, first of all, to Bradenton, Florida. And we’re going to talk to Robert. Robert, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi, Pastor Hank. God bless you. Thank you. And you know, Pastor, I just find a church, and I used to attend to church that preached salvation by works.
and I was the leader, but I was the sacrifice that Jesus did for us and well, they didn’t believe that and they told me to live for another church. I just ran to attend and I’ve been visiting some churches and it feels like they’re all They’re all by works and it’s just so hard to find a church that preaches salvation by faith. And I’m over here from Bredington and I’m Hispanic. I’m Mexican. I attend to Hispanic churches and this is to every preacher that I just can’t find one that Good night.
preachers are true than what to do you know. It’s a part of the end times. I think we are seeing it happen before our very eyes and Get all those churches to listen to Bible and maybe we can have some impact But you know it says in 2nd Timothy chapter 4 verse 3 and 4 that the time will come and I believe it already has I think we’re there right now when they will not endure sound doctrine But after their own lust they would heaped themselves teachers They want to be entertained, they want to have their ears tickled, and they just want to have a good time.
And they turn away their ears from the truth, the word of God, and are turned on the fables or lies or fairy tales. And that’s what’s happening in the church today. We are there where the Bible says in the end times that would happen. First Timothy, chapter 4 says in the last days, the Holy Spirit speaks expressly how people would depart from the faith. The faith, those two words, occur 43 times in the New Testament and talk about the body of truth as contained in his word.
And people today are departing from the truth. This is something that the Bible predicted would happen. And boy is it ever. And we hear it on Bible and all the time from people saying, I can’t find a good sound Bible Church. Now we have an article that I’ve written called Beliefs That Matter about 25 basic doctrines are very easily summarized and about a paragraph for each. And if you’re going to have a good sound Church, they really ought to line up with these basic doctrines.
They are just essential. We also have a book by Lewis Berry-Shafer, the founder of Dallas Theological Seminary, written almost 100 years ago, called Basic Bible Photons, or Basic Bible Themes. And there he covers 52 doctrines. And each chapter is only about maybe 5 to 7 pages, but he briefly summarizes 52 major doctrines in the Bible. That’s a great book to have in your library. And then we also have a book by Charles Ryrie on basic doctrines of the Bible, and that’s another good one to have, and also another one called the Moody Handbook of Theology by ends and that’s another great one to have to know what the doctors are and what you are to be looking for when you’re looking for a good church.
A lot of people don’t know how to pick out a church. And they pick it out, pick out a church for all therorong reasons. One guy was asked, He asked, what is your church preference? He thought for a moment, scratched his head and said, finally, Red Brick. Well, obviously he was choosing on the architecture of the church and what kind of building materials they used. Obviously, you need to look for a church that has sound doctrine. That’s number one.
Number one and everything else follows after that. Thank you Robert for calling in. Yes sir. Do you know any church over here in Bradenton that preaches the good sound doctrine? I wish I did. don’t get the Bradenton, but very seldom. And I don’t really know of one, but maybe somebody could call in and offer a recommend to us one and we can get back to you, Robert. Leave your number with our operator, and we’ll try to get back to you if somebody can tell us on a good church in the Bradenton area.
We’re now going to go to Benjamin in Clearwater, Florida. Good morning, Dr. Hank. I hear you say that Hady is in Greek and she is in Hebrew. I’m a I’m at the city world, the Bible used in Luke 16 to talk about the rich man when he was in Haiti. This is… Now also you say hell and a lake of fire are the same. The hell is empty right now. I read in 2nd Peter chapter 4 verse 4 that God passed down the angel to the help.
And then if he passed down the angel to the hurt, then the education is in help. Can you explain to me that, please? What verses that in Peter? I think. I mean you’re a hong up but it’s really the Greek word again would be Hades there is no one the angels nor Satan are in hell as yet but they will be cast in hell they’re going to be the first ones in as Matthew 2541 Jesus said that he created hell for the devil and as angels, but everybody in the human race will also join them.
So he did cast the angels down, but they were cast down in judgment and are reserved unto everlasting fire, but they’re presently alive and well walking around on the surf and are doing Satan’s bidding today. Thank you Benjamin. We are appreciating your call. We now have Frank in St. Petersburg and Frank, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Oh, hi, Dr. Hank. Thank you so much for taking my phone call. I appreciate it. I just want to make a comment about people who hate out their salvation and also people who think they’re believers, but they’re trusting in their works, which you so eloquently I’m going to emphasize, during every broadcast, one passage that helps me to reason diddly with people who are unsure, which I found to be extremely, you know, once you put your I want to talk about your trusting Christ alone for your salvation and forgiveness of sins.
You become his child, his son and daughter. And just like a parent has a daughter or son, we could never, I’m a parent myself, I have four children. You can never deny the fact that you have children and once they are your biological children, there’s no way that you can never say they’re not mine and then cast them away and say they were never. born to me and on a spiritual level God stops to his family so every Christian is a son and daughter of God through faith in his son and the scripture talks about the fact that once you become his child his son or daughter by putting your faith in Christ there’s no way he will ever cast you away or abandon you and that passage in Romans 8, chapter 8 working with 17 I think is one of the best arguments for defense against salvation by
by Worksperson. person. Amen. Well, thank you for sharing that, Frank, and you’re absolutely right. You know, once you become a child of God, you can’t become unborn. And whether you’re obedient or disobedient, you’re still God’s child. And what God does is he disciplines the delinquent believer and you’ll suffer the loss of reward if you’re not serving, but you’re still saved. And what can be lost is not salvation, but you can lose your joy. You can lose your effectiveness, your testimony.
money. You can lose rewards, but you can even lose your life. The Lord might take you home to heaven early, but you cannot lose your salvation. Frank, we sure thank you for calling in and appreciate that. We’re coming up on the end of this program and we’ll of course come back for a second half hour. If you haven’t helped Bibleline, we have come through a lean summer and we’re trying to land on our feet as we get into September here.
If you could help us. This would be a great time to do that. We covet your prayers and if you could help us financially, would you do it here on the last day of August? You can do that by credit card over the phone or you can do that by mail. If you need an envelope with our address on it, call and we’ll be glad to have one sent to you with our address on it and you mail your gift in.
Otherwise, you can go ahead and call in and just give a gift by credit card or the phone. Thank you in advance. God bless all of you who are helping Bible. And we have no other means of support than you, our listeners, and we’re counting on your help to get us through this summer and into the fall. We really, truly do need your help and that would be appreciated so greatly. We’re going to go to break. We’ll come right back into a second half hour.
I hope everybody will hug your radio. Don’t let it get away from you. And we’ll try to get to the questions that are waiting for us here. We’ll be right back. Don’t go away. We’ll be right back after this short break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Angelous. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks again for tuning in to Bibleline. We look forward to being with you each and every day.
Thank God for all of you who pray for and give the Bibleline making it possible for us to be on the air. We really look forward to it. Obviously, many of you tell us that you look forward to the program coming your way. In order to be on the air, it costs a great deal of money. We don’t have it, basically. So we are dependent upon our listeners as the only means of our being able to be on the air.
Could you help us? Would you pray for us? And if you could give a gift, no matter how small, it would be greatly appreciated. And if everybody gave a little bit, we would have our needs taken care of. We don’t pay any salaries here at Bible. And so we’re obviously probably one of the most efficient ministries out there because most ministries have a lot of overhead with salaries and other things and we don’t have any of that. And because we are housed in my church, there’s no rent to pay, no other expenses in the way of utilities and so on.
So we’re pushing it all out into getting the gospel out to the world through Bible line. help us. I think you get more bang for your buck, more effectiveness for your dollar by giving to Bible and then any other ministry that I know of. And I’m not asking for myself, but I’m pleading for souls that need to be one to Christ. And you can be a help in helping us accomplish that goal. And I believe you’ll share equally in whatever rewards will come about as a result of the Bible and program.
Would you pray for us and would you consider giving a gift by credit card over the phone? Just call our 800 number and our operators will be happy to assist you. You can also call and ask for an envelope to be sent with our address on it and you could mail that gift into Bible and thanks again and God bless each and every one of you. We have a resource center and you’re welcome to come by and visit and take a look or go on the internet and see it there or you can call in and ask for a resource sheet to be sent to you that will list all the things that we have and you can take a look at them and order them.
And we have things that I recommend. Which I remember as a brand new believer buying lots of things that I still have but are worthless and I wouldn’t recommend them to anybody else but what we have in our Resource Center will really help you. I think in your growing and your evangelism and everything else. What we’re about ready to rejoin the stations have been on break so keep your radio type to you and we’ll begin the second half hour right now.
you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for that break and this is Bibleline and we sure do thank you for tuning in today. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church where I am the pastor and we’d love to have you come by if you’re in the area or if you come into the area from out of state or out of town come by and say hi.
We’re coming up on the first Sunday in September and that’ll be our day to observe the Lord’s Supper. If you come before my worship service at 1030 if you come at 945 from 945 to 1015. We’ll have the Lord suffer a precious time of remembering what the Lord did for us at the cross and commiting with Him. And everybody brought to do that. And then on the third Sunday of the month, we’re going to have our third Sunday dinner.
Great time to come, make it a day, and join us for the worship service and stay for the dinner. We We are excited about webcasting our worship services. If you would like to see our worship service from wherever you are on the planet Earth, you’ll be able to see that by clicking on the camera on the home page. You’ll see a black screen right in the middle of that page. That stays black until Sunday morning between 11 and 12.
If you want to see the past sermons, and there are 42 or 43 sitting there right now, if you go to your left side and click on Archives, you’ll be able to bring up the Sunday sermons and listen to them or watch them right there. But on Sunday morning, if you go there 11, that black screen will turn alive and you’ll see clouds going by on the screen and it’ll say Calvary Community Church worship service and as soon as I begin the message the audio in the video will come up and you’ll be able to watch as the message is given and join us.
Then of course it goes into archive and you’ll be able to see it again and again later and I hope you’ll take advantage of that. We’re going to do something very special on Sunday the 9th of September at 9 till 10. We’re going to webcast a special broadcast where we’re going to be talking about the Rapture but entertaining live questions on the Internet. In other words, at 9 o’clock you’ll be able to see me there on the screen and you’ll be able to type in questions on the internet.
It’ll be interactive and your question will be answered live. You’ll be able to see me answering questions and that’ll be on the 9th of September from 9 until 10. We’ll do one hour prior to my worship service here of answering your questions and interactive time of actually talking about the words return and taking your live questions in a live webcast. That’ll be fun. So you might want to make sure you circle the 9th of September and that’s just three days before the potential rapture date which is September 12th, the Feast of Trumpets, and we thought we would just entertain a lot of questions and do that live on the Internet.
So think about that September 9th, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Eastern Time. We are going to have an interactive kind of like a seminar on the rapture. I’ll be there with my Bible and you’ll be at home. Or near your computer wherever that might be. And you’ll be able to watch me answer questions, and you’ll be able to submit your questions live as we go. So it’ll be kind of spontaneous. It’ll be a lot of fun. So keep that in mind.
We’re now going to go back to the phone lines here, and we have Sandra in Bradenton, Florida. And Sandra, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hello, Dr. Lindstrom. Yes, ma’am. Wonderful hearing your program. I’m responding to the question by the man looking for a Bible teaching church Okay, can you give that to my operator so that we I don’t want to announce it over the year Because I haven’t it but I’ll give you back over to James right now and James will take that information for you But thank you for letting us know because we appreciate that very much So I thank you Sandra.
We now have Brandon in Bradenton. That sounds kind of strange, but I don’t see, apparently maybe Brandon is not there. Let’s see. I think I have a doubt on there. We must have lost him. We have Lynn in St. Petersburg. Lynn, welcome to Bibleline Your On The Air. Hello, Lynn? Yes, hi. I’m a first-time caller, and I love your program and appreciate it very much. I was saved a few months ago in a Pentecostal church, and my two questions are, I’m very confused and conflicted that A, I lost my salvation because I can’t seem to stop smoking, be that I will not be able to be baptized in the Holy Spirit to speak in tongues because I smoke.
And yet another elder at the church said that only with the Holy Spirit will have the power to stop smoking. So I’m all confused now. Well, that’s because you’re going to bad teaching. Obviously, when you trust the word of your Savior, you receive everlasting life at the moment you believe. You have a pencil. Can you write down a couple of verses? Yes. Right down John chapter 6 verse 37, and you’ll find that Jesus says there, Lin, him that cometh to me, which obviously you have come to Christ and trusted him as your Savior, He says, I will in no wise cast out.
And that means under no circumstance would Christ ever cast you out. Smoking or whatever it might be. Christ will never cast you out. Once you trust Christ, you are saved forever. If you notice also verse 39 of John 6, Christ says, this is the Father’s will that of all which have given me I should lose none, not one. So obviously he’s not going to lose you if he’s not going to lose one person. So when you trust Christ you’ll never be cast out and you’ll never be lost.
John 637 and 39. Also, Lynn at the moment you believe the Holy Spirit does come into you and you are sealed by that Holy Spirit. If you read Ephesians 1, 13 and 14, it says, having believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. And that Holy Spirit is God Himself who comes into you and seals you as His own and guarantees that you’re going to go to heaven. It uses the word earnest there in verse 14 and says, the Holy Spirit is the earnest of our salvation.
That’s an old English word, but it means down payment. And so God is an earnest about completing your salvation so much so that He gives you the Holy Spirit as a down payment. If God did not carry through and take you all the way to heaven, then He would have to forfeit the Holy Spirit to you. And if you went to hell, the Holy Spirit would go to hell, not going to happen. So the baptism of the Holy Spirit is also something that every believer has at the moment you believe.
Write down 1 Corinthians 1213. Verse 1213. And it says there that by one spirit are we all baptized into one body. Whether you are bond or free or Jew or Gentile, you’ve all been made to drink into one spirit And as a result, it says in verse 27, right now you are The Bible is the Bible of Christ and members in particular. So you become a member of the Bible of Christ by the baptism of the Holy Spirit the moment you believe there’s no feeling and there’s no tongues associated with it.
By the way, to tell you that you have to speak in tongues is craziness because the gift of tongues has ceased. There is nobody on the planet earth anywhere today that’s speaking in the gift of tongues. What is being done by the church you’re going to is a gibberish. That gibberish is done by all the world religions. It’s done by the cults, the Mormons do the gibberish. It’s done by the tribes in the in the jungles of South American, Africa and Australia.
Around the world the gibberish is done by the Buddhist. It’s done by the Muslims. The gibberish is common to everybody that’s false. You don’t want to get mixed up with that. You’re going really to the wrong church. You need to get out of there. So when these people start praying in tongues at prayer meeting or when they’re… Are they deliberately doing this gibberish to make my blow my mind and get me so confused? No, I think they’re probably very sincere, but the gift of tongues has ceased, and there is no such thing as this gibberish.
You know, the biblical word in the book of Acts used for tongues is dialectos, and it’s the Greek word for a specific dialect of a specific language. So unless you’re speaking German, French, Chinese, or some other foreign language, and a specific dialect of that language, you do not have the gift. And none of those people do, I guarantee it because there’s nobody today that has it. It was a temporary gift and it ceased when the New Testament was completed and there’s nobody that does it today.
This gibberish is done, as I said before, by all the religions of the world and even is done by the Mormons which are not Christian at all. How or why would God give it to them? He doesn’t. The gibberish has in common everybody that doesn’t have it right. And so you don’t want to associate with those people. And the fact that they tell you that you can lose your salvation tells me that they don’t have salvation right. Because once a person gets saved, Jesus said, you can’t be lost.
He’ll never cast you out and he’ll never lose you. Would the Civil Rights Children ever vote for instance like he praying about this thing that came out of the march? Well again you have to truly be saved. If they teach you that you can lose it you’re obviously still struggling to keep it or you’re trusting in works. If you are trusting that anything you do or you do not do in your future determines whether you’re saved or not, that’s works.
To be saved, Lynn, you have to look back to the cross and say, Jesus paid it all. And I trust Him and Him alone to take me to heaven. When you do that, then God does truly save you. And yes, then He can give you the power to have victory over smoking. Absolutely. I say, do you know what choices St. Petersburg? Well, I can not get confused. I wish I could give you a quick answer but we’ll get my operator now to take your number and if somebody calls in with a good church in St.
Petersburg, we’ll kind of give you that name so that you can attend there. Okay, wonderful. All right. Thank you so much. Lynn, our operator, we’ll now take your call. And thank you so much for calling in today. We now have Jim in Columbia, Missouri. And Jim, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello. Hi there. Who am I calling to? You’re talking to Dr. Lynch and you’re on the air. You’re live. You’re on the radio with Bible and Dr.
Anglinstrom. Okay? I fell back in the shortly after that and I really didn’t know that I was reading in Hebrews about being an imposter, you know, on Stuff Bus yet. And I really didn’t know nothing about it until a couple years ago when I started reading the Bible again. I was 67 years old and I lived out the world most of my life.Sunday, Hebrews, there’s no chance for men being saved again, right? If you could, Elizabeth, you can’t, Elizabeth.
It’s saying in Hebrew 6 that if you get away from the Lord as you have, that you don’t have to go back and become saved again. You need to get serving again and get back with the Lord. But your salvation has never been in jeopardy. If you have trusted the Lord, you’re saved forever just as we told the previous caller. Christ says in John 637, he would in no wise ever cast you out for any reason, nor would he lose even one.
He will not lose one person. John 639, so once you’re saved, you’re stuck. Jim, you have to go to heaven when you like it or not. Now, you lose out when you don’t serve the Lord on the joy and the blessings that God can bring in your life. And one day you’ll suffer loss of reward that you could have had if you had been living for Christ, but you cannot lose your salvation. You’re safe forever. What about you, even to see I’m on my third marriage and everything, I really, I really missed up my life.
Even if you’re Even that. I mean, obviously nothing can ever cause you to be lost once you become saved. Romans 8, we had a caller earlier that talked about Romans 8, and in verse 38 and 39 it says I am persuaded. The Greek word in Romans 838 persuaded is a word that means from the Greek language in which the New Testament was written, thoroughly convinced. This is I am persuaded or thoroughly convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor things present nor things to come nor height nor death nor any other creation shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
So there is nothing that can come into your life, divorce, tragedy, death, whatever it is, nothing can ever separate you from Christ. Once you’re saved, you’re his forever. And the only thing you can lose out on is the blessings and the rewards that come by serving him, but you cannot lose your salvation. What it’s saying is that once you have repented which means you’ve changed your mind and trusted Christ, you then become saved forever. So if you get away from serving the Lord, it’s impossible to go back and become saved again because you’re already saved forever.
So you can’t become saved a second time, a third time, a fourth time, you’re saved once for all, once you trust Christ. And so the verses there are talking about verse 9, it says we’re talking about things that accompany salvation. Verse 10 says, God is not unrighteous to forget your labor. He’s going to reward you for whatever you’ve done for him. So it’s not talking about saying, if you tried to become saved again, verse 6 says, you would be crucifying Christ all over again to yourself and put him to an open chain.
You’d say every time that you sin or lost your salvation which is impossible that you’d have to crucify Christ all over again. That’s never going to happen. Christ died one time to save you forever. And so it’s saying it’s impossible to become saved again because you’re already saved forever. What did it mean about the one good chance? Again it says you don’t need another sacrifice. It says that you don’t need another sacrifice. is no more sacrifice for sins because the one sacrifice of Christ saves you forever.
Look at verse 14 earlier in that chapter 10 where it says, by one sacrifice Christ has perfected you forever. Verse 17 says that your sins and iniquities he will never remember again. And verse 18 says, once he’s forgiven you your sin there is no more sacrifice or offering for sin. Verse 26 says, even if you sin willfully you don’t need another sacrifice. it does say that God will spank you and you’ll suffer consequences. And so in the following verses there after verse 26 of Hebrews 10 it says that God will judge his people and in verse 31 it’s a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
So you don’t want to mess with God and have him have to spank you but he’s not going to lose you, you’re not going to be lost. And verse 39 is even the best one in the whole chapter because it says even though you backslide, it doesn’t use the word backslide there, but it says if you draw back, you can’t draw back in the hell. Every believer has believed to the saving, the deliverance of your soul from hell forever.
So once you become saved, you are delivered from hell. You can draw back, but you can never draw back into or hell because you’re safe forever once you trust Christ. What denomination are you? Are you Baptist or? No, I’m just a Christian. I’m just a Christian. Yeah, we have a brother-in-law is a Baptist preacher. Yeah, and he’s you know, it’s long the same line. I mean, you know what I mean? I mean, they believe the same. Yeah, tell me here.
Well, that’s the honest truth right there for you Jim and I hope you’ll keep listening to Bibleline. television program we have jack now in richmond virginia and jack welcome to bible on your own here yeah thank you uh… i was like a little so i know what you say once you accept place to save you you feel forever your dog or you commit a dog free of your duties that certain things but you don’t have a place in heaven but can you explain that now i’ll hang up absolutely because you don’t trust christ any of those sins would take you to hell and if you read here’s a passage you need to look up jack calling in from Richmond, Virginia.
If you look up 1 Corinthians 6, verse 9 and 10 list all those different sins you’re talking about. And then it says in verse 11, that’s the answer, 1 Corinthians 6, 11, and such were some of you, but you are washed, you are justified, you are sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. So in other words, once you trust Christ, it’s a different ballgame. Now you are forgiven of all of your sins past, present, and future.
There’s nothing that you can do in your future that would ever cause you to be lost once you become saved. But there are things you can do in your future that will cause God to spank you and maybe even take you home to heaven early. The Lord tells us that he chases or disciplines every son that he receives into his family. So once you trust Christ, you are forgiven of your past, your present and your future sins. They are paid for and they are gone forever.
According to the Bible, he will never cast you out, John 637. He will never lose you, John 639. You’re saved forever, but God says you’re going to be accountable. And if you’re delinquent, he’s going to spank you. If you’re obedient, he’s going to reward you. And if you’re not living for Christ, you’ll suffer the loss of reward for all eternity, but you’ll still be saved. Sure. Thank you for calling in Jack. That was Jack in Richmond, Virginia. We now have Jim in Land of Lakes, Florida.
