We broke it into two parts because it was the longest one I have done. toughened all on the teaching. wonderful book. We did 18 hours and so we have two nice book-like containers that can hold your CDs in a very nice orderly fashion and we have nine CDs or nine hours of teaching in the first one that’s part one of John and then we have nine more CDs in part two and we’re also throwing in one extra The Bibleline is called the Book of Mormon.
It’s a gift to the Bibleline for $50, which is a gift to Bibleline for $50, and $50 for part 2. You can get the entire 18 hours of teaching in a nice book format, put it up on yourself for carrying your car on the seat and be able to have it organized, so you don’t have CD to just flying all around your car. You can listen to the Gospel of John. We did 18 hours. It was a marvelous study.
I believe one of our best and you’ll think you’ll really enjoy that. So call our operators. You can order the Gospel of John series. You can just order part one if you like. And that would be for a gift of $50. You can order just part two if you like. For a gift of $50 you can get the whole series for a gift of $100 to Bible and that’ll help us out. And also I think you’ll enjoy the teachings.
We also have the book of Revelation. That was a wonderful teaching, 12 hours of teaching on Revelation verse by verse. That is the most popular one we have in our Resource Center. You might want to consider getting that. And also a lot of people are finding these CDs are great witnessing tools and we have the how permanent is your salvation CD, which has really led thousands of Christ. We have found that if you can get somebody to listen to that CD, that there is a great chance that they will get saved.
It just is that good God has really blessed it. Many people tell me they listen to it again and again and again and many tell me upon hearing it that they got saved. They understood the gospel for the very first time and that is exciting. We are so glad to be with you here on this Friday and we hope that you will get our phone number down and call us the number if you want to get up on the air with us and ask a question or if you’d like to leave an offer question it’s 1-800-576-3771 that’s 1-800-576-3771 and by the way we apologize for not getting to the off airs we have been so inundated with calls that we have not been getting to the off airs and I know we’ve got a ton of them sitting here waiting to be answered.
We’ll try to get to those if we have time today. But we’re living in the last days. Jesus is coming back. My goodness, look at the world scene. You know the players are popping up on the stage left and right. Russia again going back to a dictatorship. The Bible talks about in Daniel the king of the north. We believe no doubt that is the dictator head of Russia and look at how things are playing out China, a slumbering giant for so long emerging now as a major player on the world scene.
According to the book of Revelation, China will come into the Middle East at the Battle of Armageddon. That China will field an army of 200 million according to Revelation 9. Amazingly if you go to the CIA Factbook on the Internet, CIA Factbook, you’ll find that when you look up China and when you look up their army, it will say their army is 200 million, not 205, not 195, but 2,000. I mean, how amazing the Bible is. Written 2,000 years ago in the book of Revelation, it tells us about Russia, about China and tells us the army of China would be 200 million.
Well, you know, 2,000 years ago, if you added up everybody on the planet Earth, every man, woman and child in parakeet, you would not have come up with 200 million. It’s only been in these last 150 years or so that we’ve seen the world population skyrocket so that China has about 1.2 billion people and so they can field an army of 200 million. Well, the Bible tells us also that when China comes into the Middle East, the river Euphrates will dry up.
Well, the river Euphrates begins up in Turkey, the source, and flows down through Syria and then through Iraq and finally out to the Persian Gulf. Well, that is a major, major river in the world you’ve kind of mentioned all the way back in the book of Genesis, and it has flowed happily for thousands of years without an eruption, and the Bible talks about this river drying up. You know, the potential is there for that river to be dried up by a political decision.
That’s right. In Turkey, they have built a huge dam similar to the Azwann Project in Egypt, and they’re Here in order to fill up the lake, the reservoir behind the dam, they shut the river off. It caused a lot of problems downstream for Syria and Iraq. They were very, very unhappy. That was way back in 1991. At any time, they could push a button, in a sense, put that big plug in the bathtub and shut the water off to the Euphrates River.
The Bible says when that happens, the Chinese army will march. If you take your finger and put it on China, China, and you put your other finger on Israel, and you start marching, and you head toward Israel from China. Guess what? You will cross the river Euphrates, and if you don’t lift your finger, it’s going to get wet right now at least. But you know, when this happens, that river will dry up. It could happen at any time, and it is something that can happen by the push of a button today.
the river could be shut off. We are living in the end times. No doubt about it. China is involved in the Middle East. And we have Russia involved in the Middle East. And we have the West involved in the Middle East. And in fact, the Bible tells us that the Western nations when they put their feet back in the Middle East, that is the end times. Daniel chapter 2 gives us an incredible dream of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. And he even forgot the dream and asked his wise men to tell him the dream and the interpretation thereof.
They couldn’t do it. And so Daniel was there and prayed and asked God and God revealed to him the dream and the interpretation. and it turns out to be an incredible overview of the past 2500 years of Gentile world powers as they affected Israel, beginning with the Babylonian Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, the Grecian Empire, the Roman Empire, and then the final inform of a world power which would be Europe coming together and then being controlled by a young country actually birthed by Europe.
There’s only one country in the world that could be that younger country stronger than Europe and birthed by Europe, it’s America. And we are, I believe, the country out of which the Antichrist will come. And it says in in the last days that this last country would put her feet back in Iraq where it all began. That’s where ancient Babylon was. And the Bible says when that happens, then this image will be standing with its feet planted where it all began.
And that’s when Jesus comes back. We are there. We are close. I am ready. And, you know, when you watch the news, you see the excitement that a believer can have that know that we need to take our time seriously and use it wisely for the Lord because there’s not a whole lot of time left. We’re about to be taken out of here and the darkest hours of human history occur. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. There is no other way to heaven.
Works have nothing to do with it. I was always taught that there was a big scale, that one day I would stand before God. They would open the books. They would read off the good things I had done. They’d read off the bad things I had done. I would stand there kind of shaking and hoping and praying and angels would assist. They would apply weights on one side of the scale to represent my good works. Angels would apply weights on the other side of the scale to represent my bad works.
And I would hope the scale would tip in my favor. I would get into heaven, I thought, and if I had more bad works than good works than I would go to hell, I thought. But that’s totally wrong. There is no scale. The Bible says salvation Ephesians 2, 9 is not of works. Not of works. Not of works. As I mentioned, it’s not of works. I read there in Ephesians 2, 8, that it’s the gift of God. Pointed my ears perk up.
I read there in Ephesians 2 8 that it was not of myself Ah wow And then I read there in Ephesians 2 8 that it was by grace or by mercy that I would be saved through faith in Jesus Christ and what he did for me and In Ephesians 2 9 I read that it was not of works lest any man should boast. I’ll never forget That moment when I read that and I said to myself Somebody’s wrong! Somebody’s wrong!
Somebody’s wrong! Either my church was right and the Bible was wrong, or the Bible was right and my church was wrong. I think you know which way I went. I chose the Bible! Of course, many times we’re taught wrong. And you have to go to the Bible as the supreme authority and say, what is the word of God say? It’s not of works. Unless any man should both the Bible says it’s not of works. Somebody’s wrong. If you believe that you have to do some kind of work, if you have to change or stop or start or do something or not do something in order to get yourself into heaven, my friend, you have the wrong plan of salvation.
The Bible tells us it’s all about Christ and He paid the full payment for our sins at the cross. So when you trust in His death and shed blood as the means of your salvation, the fact that He was buried and rose again from the dead, God saved you. I pray you’ve done that. I’m Dr. Anker, and this is Bible, and we’re going to go to the phone lines here. You can call us at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go to Jacksonville, Florida, and we have Sophia, and she is calling in from Jacksonville, Florida.
Welcome to Bibleline, Sophia. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. I have just two quick questions, and I’ll hang up and listen to get off the air because driving is I don’t have my Bible in front of me again. The one question is not to get into a long discussion about the tongue thing again, but what does it mean when he said in the Bible? I don’t remember which The pulse it was he said though I speak with the tongues of men and angels So that would be the first question the tongue of angels I guess which would be a heavenly tongue and maybe that’s for a lot of the penny coffee was a getting that That I don’t know whatever it is they do that that sound maybe that’s what they’re calling an angelic tongue or something Well, that’s what you’re calling it.
Well the next thing is real quick And then I’ll hang up because I can hear you better is who are the hundred and forty four thousand people? speak of a revelation. Let me hang up and I’ll listen to you. Okay. Well, first of all, when it says that in 1 Corinthians 13 about speaking with the tongues of angels, it’s talking about eloquence. It’s talking about perfect delivery. It’s not talking about a separate language. Angels are great communicators. When you read through the Bible Sophia, you’ll find that wherever an angel spoke to someone, they were clearly understood and they spoke in the language of the person that was hearing that language.
You know when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary at Nazareth telling her that she was going to be the mother of the Messiah, that the child that she would bear was conceived by the Holy Spirit and so on. You might remember reading that in Luke chapter 1. the angel didn’t appear to Mary and go. And Mary said, my God, what is he saying? Mary had no problem. And the angel said, if you’re not Mary, for you’re highly favored above all women.
And he told her about how that she would have a son and that he would be called the Son of God. And that he would rule over the nation of Israel, sitting upon the throne of David and his kingdom would have no end. She understood clearly and she said how can this be seen and know not a man. They had a two-way conversation. This is a phony baloney when the people who speak in gibberish try to say that’s an angelic tongue.
There’s no support in the Bible at all that would ever say that an angel said anything that was not understood by the hearer. They spoke clearly in a known language, the language of the hearer, that’s exactly what the gift of tongues was. It was to speak in the language of the hearer. In fact, the Bible tells us it uses the Greek word dialectos for a specific dialect of that language. And that’s exactly what the Bible could give for us.
Today what we have is a counterfeit, the Mormons do it. Why does God give it to the Mormons. Well, he doesn’t. He doesn’t. Why does he give it to the people in Islam? They do this same thing. What about Buddhist? They have it. The same gibberish. The tribes in the jungle of South America, Central America, Australia, Africa. They do it. It’s all around the world. But it’s not the real gift. The fact that it’s shared by all of these who reject the Bible and reject Christ tells us it’s not from God.
This is a counterfeit movement today and a lot of people are deceived. And you know, it’s not the real issue. It’s not the real issue. I don’t like to spend my time talking about that because I find that most of these people are not saying they believe you can lose your salvation. That’s the first question I could ask. Can you lose your salvation? And they say, yeah, you bet. You sure can. That tells me that they believe that what they do in their future.
Whether they live the Christian life out faithfully or whether they backslide or fail and then die That determines their salvation that makes them the Savior makes salvation by works and is not the plan of salvation the Bible offers where as we just said a moment ago It’s not a work. So by the way, Sophia 140 or 1000 are Jewish men That will witness to the gospel after the rapture during the tribulation period. Revelation chapter 7 tells us, and I saw 144,000 that were sealed, and they were of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
So they’re Jewish, and it says there would be 12,000 from the tribe of, and it names each of the 12 tribes, 12 times 12,000 is 140,000. So you can’t be one of 145,000 unless you’re Jewish. Then you get a chapter 14 of Revelation and it tells us that they are all male. There are no females among the 144,000 and they’re all virgin males. So they have never had sex. So there you have it. And obviously everybody is eliminated today pretty much by that.
They are Jewish, they are males, they are virgin males and they are going to be faithful witnesses to the gospel, all of them will be martyred halfway into the tribulation period. They’ll witness for three and a half years and millions and millions will get saved. The Bible tells us that in Revelation 7.9 I saw a great multitude which no man could number of all nations and kiddos and tongues and they get saved through the witness of the hundred, four to a thousand.
Thank you Sophia in Jackson, Florida. We’re now going to go to Gary down in Bradenton, Florida, and Gary, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Gary, are you there? Good morning, Dr. Hank. Good morning. How are you, sir? Good. Dr. Hank, I’m teaching a Bible study on the Apostle Paul at my church, and this week we’re We’re going to be discussing works versus faith. And I know you speak so eloquently about that. And I like you believe that we’re saved by our faith, not by our works.
Good. Dr. Hank, I’m having a problem with two passages that are going to throw me a stumbling flag. I’m afraid. You can help me avert the course James 2 24. If I can handle these, I’m going to come up during my study and I don’t know how I can divert that time. No problem. Let me go to Acts chapter 10 first and look at verse 35 or 10. I’m almost there, almost there. One more page and I will be there.
Acts 10, 35 says here that in every nation, I’ll read verse 34. open his mouth and said of the truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons. But in every nation he that fearth him and worked with righteousness is accepted with him. I believe what he’s talking about there is that they are seeking the Lord and will receive the gospel message. Cornelius was exactly that kind of person. If you go back to chapter 10 verse There was a certain man in Caesarea named Cornelius and he was a centurion of the man called the Italian man.
He was a soldier doing duty in Israel. A devout man, one that feared God with all his house. So there’s the description. And he gave much alms to the people and prayed to God always. And so what God says to him here is that your prayers in verse 4 have been heard. And they’ve come up before God in verse 4 as a memorial or a record before God. And so he gives him instructions now to go get Peter and Peter would tell him how to be saved.
And so Peter comes and sure enough, Peter says the same thing that God will get the gospel to somebody who is seeking. I like Jeremiah 29-13 and you shall seek me and find me when you shall search me with all your heart. is sincerely doing the best with the knowledge he has and is seeking the true living God. God will see that they hear the gospel. And obviously Peter in verse 43 of chapter 10 says to Jesus, give all the prophets witness that through his name, whosoever what believeth in him shall receive the remission of their sin.
So they’re forgiven by believing or trusting. And of course, that is the drift of it. So they’re not saved by their works, but God does make sure that they hear the gospel if they are seeking and are doing the best they can with the knowledge they have to try to find the living God and God will honor that and make sure they hear that message before they die. How about James 224? James is talking here not about salvation but he’s talking about rewards in heaven.
And he’s telling us that, and I’m almost there, it says here in verse 24, you see then. And the focus there is you see how the by works of man is justified and not by faith only, not God sees. If you read Romans 4, God looks at the heart and sees us righteous when we trust Christ, but man can’t see inside our mind. And so man looks at our works. And so this is how we see it. You were justified before other men by our works.
And we see men’s faith by their works, but we are not saved by our works. This is wonderful. I thank you, sir. You’re so welcome. I just know they’re going to come up with these. So whenever I talk about faith versus work, I get these passages, keep coming up and they say, well, Peter said this and James said that. Okay. Well, we’ll come back at me if you need more help. I thank you, sir. Have a great day. Have a good day to you.
Thank you, Gary. Gary, teaching in Bradenton, needing a little help there with the difficult passages. We’re going to have to take a break. It’s amazing how quick the program goes and we’re going to come back and do a second half hour. all of you that are listening if you could pray for Bibleline and also if you could help Bibleline, your gifts are what keep this program on the air and you could give one by phone by credit card if you’d like or you could mail a gift in the Bibleline in which your help us in this month of September.

I’m back and we’re excited about being able to be with you today. Thanks again for listening on this Friday and we’re excited about what God is doing here through Bible and I’m excited that you’re listening and enjoying the program forever you might be listening today. The Bible is an amazing book and you know a lot of people try to fit a square peg in a round hole by taking things that they’ve been taught wrong all their life and trying to make it fit with the Bible.
It just doesn’t. And I think that’s one of the reasons why people say I don’t understand the Bible because they’re trying to make it fit with what they have already have in the way of preconceived ideas about what the Bible says. And I had so many of those. I was taught wrong about so many things. When I got into the Bible, I said, wow, as we said a little bit earlier, somebody’s wrong. Either the Bible is right and my church is wrong or my church is right and the Bible is wrong.
You have to make choices. And don’t be afraid to believe what God says in the Bible. It may contradict what your church teaches. If that’s the case, Your church is wrong. That’s right, right? You just have to be able to say, whoa, face it. What I’ve been taught all my life is wrong. And you know, that made me angry when I first got saved. I was 18 and I said, that makes me angry that I was taught wrong, misinformed.
I spent all those years going through confirmation, being baptized, homogenized, pasteurized, capsized, Simonized, all the things that I went through all my life. I was really not too happy about finding out that I had been taught wrong, but most people I believe are. You have to go to the Bible and believe it for what it is. We thank you for listening. We thank you for telling your friends about the program. We hope you’re telling people overseas, your mission, your friends, your family, your relatives across the country.
Tell them that they can reach, get this program. I was talking to somebody the other day. Can my family down in Fort Myers? Florida here the program I said not on broadcast but on the internet they can get it anywhere in Israel in Europe in Australia you can listen to Bibleline and I hope that you’ll tell them that if you can help us financially It would be great. You can send a gift to Bibleline by mail or you can give one my credit card over the phone I hope you would consider doing that we could use your help and that allows us to be on the air and spread out across the world in America.
We’re going to go back and rejoin the stations that have been on break and do our second half hour by blind. So we want you to keep your radio right where it is and don’t change that now. Go to the camera, click on that, then go to the archive messages. And then if you look at the top of the page, it’ll say on the right, special presentations.
And there’s a lot of those. But the first one on the top of the list right there is that interactive Rapture discussion we had. All of our lines are lined up. We’re going to try to get these calls done. And we’re going first here to George in Palm Harbor. The number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. And George, welcome to Bibleline. And you’re on the air. Good morning. Good morning. You know, at 10 Ironic, I was just watching at 700 Club for a minute.
And at Robert’s I was doing a thing on speaking in Tongue. And one guy says, he keeps repeating himself. He says, well, maybe you just stand, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord. But anyway, that aside, he obviously believes in it. What is the scripture that says where it is? 1 Corinthians 13 verses 8 through 10. Verse 8 says that tongues would cease, and the word cease there in the Greek means to come to an utter and complete halt. And it says it would happen verses 9 and 10 when that which is perfect is come, which we believe is a reference to the scriptures.
In James 125, the scriptures are called out which is perfect. before Corinthians and also Psalms 17 5, I think it is, it’s 17 7, says the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul, making wise and simple. Well, that is a great verse also. And there’s no doubt about it when the New Testament was completed, the gift of Tons ceased. If you read, for example, Ephesians, when it lists the gifts, Tons were already gone from the list. When you read Romans, oneSHARE books, it’s gone from the list.
It already was gone before the New Testament was completed, but only in Corinthians, one of the earliest written books, times are still operative. Okay, at first Corinthians 14, the whole chapter would have lived in a factor. That way they get to make sure they can still do that. Yeah, because it was still operating there. Paul was writing to the Corinthians about how they were misusing the gift. They were using it in church for nobody in the church understood it.
That’s why the translators put that word unknown in the text. The word unknown you’ll notice in every case without exception is in italics. Italicized words are not in the original manuscripts and the translators are trying to let you and I know that the language you were using was unknown to the hearer. It was unknown language, but it was unknown to the hearer in the church at Corinth where they should have been speaking Greek, they were speaking Russian, French, Chinese, whatever it was in those days.
The people didn’t understand that. Paul said, you’re wasting their time. You’re just speaking into the air because nobody understands you. Paul was trying to get him to say, hey, let’s use it correctly. In verse 9 it says, except you speak by the tongue words, easy to be understood. How shall it be known what is spoken? You just speak into the air. verse 22 says, tongues were assigned to unbelievers. It was to be used for evangelism. And so it was not to be used with the believer.
Okay. And one other thing is that there’s a guy that believes in you 99.9%, except he’s a little confused on losing his salvation. He could kind of… Oh yeah. John 637, Christ said he would not cast out anyone for any reason. And then also in John 639, Christ said he would not lose one. John 1028, Christ says, I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, which really means you’ll never go to hell. The parish would mean you’d be lost or separated from God in hell forever.
And then lastly, in John 1028, he says neither shall any put them out of my hand. So in order to be lost, somebody would have to be more powerful than Jesus and actually pluck you or remove you out of his hand because he’s holding you safe and secure forever yeah i i guess any other thing is that i i guess he pretty much got that covered but kind of things that he could throw himself out and again you have to be more powerful than that right you sure would and uh…
obviously uh… uh… christ is keeping you safe and he says he’s not going to lose any so I am possible for you to catch yourself up. Thank you very much. Thank you for Colleen George in Palm Harbor, Florida. We have now a caller from Denver, Colorado. We have Adam. Adam, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey Dr. Lindstrom, I got a question for you. I’ll hang up and listen. I’ve got a couple of Bible codes. What are they?
Is there such a thing? Do they even exist and how they from God? It’s a good question and basically you couldn’t really do much with this until the computer came along. But what they do is they take like every seventh letter and it’s almost like a crossword puzzle where you go at different angles, either across or up and down or laterally and the computer can do those kind of searches for you. But basically they would find that there would be words spelled out or things spelled out.
From the books that I’ve read about it, they can’t tell the future, but they can look back and find things that have happened might be in there. And what they do is they put in keywords like the assassination of Rabine, apparently, was found in the scriptures in hindsight. Going back, it talked about assassin and and ravine and everything else all there in there. I don’t put a whole lot of credence in this, but I don’t doubt that it’s going to be an incredible revelation when they were in heaven and God shows us how masterfully the Bible has been put together.
But basically they take out all the spaces and all the divisions between the words and they run them all together. The Old Testament is the only place you could do this. And they then do these searches. And I have the program, somebody gave me a copy of it to do it. But I haven’t fiddled with it because I don’t want to get into that. I think you fit into the dangerous territory when you’re trying to do that. And I think what God meant us to know is plainly said in Scripture, and I don’t think we have to go that way.
So apparently the answer and I hope that helped and we’re now going to go to Mark and Mark is in Pasco County someplace and Mark welcome to our Bible on your own. Hello Mark. Good. What do you have a question? You’re on the air. Yeah. Yeah. I’m sorry. The question I have is I’m saved and I believe once they’ve always saved and a guy work with he’s saved but he doesn’t believe in once they’ve always saved. I wrote something on these scriptures to give me, but also he believes that if you commit suicide you go to hell.
I don’t believe that. So I just was wondering if you could give me some more scriptures to fight back with him. Well, sure. You know, the problem is he’s not saved because if you believe you can lose it, then you’re actually believing it works for salvation because you’re saying that between now and your death that if you live the Christian life faithfully and successfully and die you’re going to have them. But if you don’t and you backslide and die, you’re going to hell.
So really what you do between now and death, which is works, determines whether you’re saved or not. And it makes you the Savior rather than Christ. But the Bible tells us that Christ saves you eternally. At the moment you trust Christ, He gives us eternal life. Just remember, God must have used the wrong word if He didn’t mean that it was eternal life. And according to the Bible you receive that eternal life. At the moment you believe, John 3, 16 says, whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish But have have as a present tense verb and so if you think about this mark if you have everlasting life right now Present tense which the Bible teaches in so many verses What kind of life will it be tomorrow?
Well, it’ll still be eternal life. What about next week? It’ll still be eternal. What about a year from that? It’ll still be eternal. What about a hundred years now? It’ll still be eternal. What about a thousand years from now? It’ll still be eternal. So obviously you’re not gonna lose it And I know it’s right, but I just like try to help other people. You have a verse that he brings up to you that you might want me to talk about Is there any verse that he uses to say he can lose it?
I forget sort of. He’s a real nice guy. He’s a real nice guy. And he went to like Bible school for like four years. So he’s got all this information and stuff, but I’m just saying is I don’t have a lot of information, but I know I’m right. Well, he probably went to a bad school. He should ask for a refund. Anyway, let me give you Hebrews 13.5. Jesus said, Jesus said in Hebrews 13.5, I will never leave you and I will never forsake you.
Alright, so let’s say you did lose your salvation and you went to hell. Then Jesus would have to go to hell with you. That’s just not going to happen. Christ says, I’ll never leave you. So he would have to go to hell with you. That’s a great verse. In Ephesians 1, 13 and 14, it says, the moment you believe you’re sealed with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1, 13. Okay, I got the job. I was looking at you before. I got all the ones on John.
You have to eat. So and also I’m gonna be moving to Tampa someone start going to church when move over there That’d be big and I got a lot of money my paycheck today So I’m gonna call back later and I can’t send you a lot that I can see like ten bucks Well, that’s wonderful. Thank you a lot, Mark and God bless you and I wish you well on Reaching your boss with the gospel of Christ. We’re now going to go to Lois in Palmetto, Florida And Lois welcome to Bibleline your own ear Lois you’re on the air.
Yeah, okay A two-part question, Dr. Limson. Beth Moore and Arthur K. Arthur, I wondered how their stand was on salvation. I belong to Baptist Church and they have classes and teachings on these two ladies every now and then. And I was just concerned if they believe that you could lose your salvation. That was one of the questions. And the other question I had was if you believe in your heart, you know that Jesus died for our sins and he rose and is it right hand of the Father.
Do you have to say a bunch of words that or can God look in your heart and tell that you really are trusting him and believe? Well the answer is in verse 10 of Romans 10 it says with the heart man believeeth under righteous. So when you, the word heart really means your mind, the center of your thought processes. So when you believe you are made righteous right there and certainly you don’t have to say any words at all.
When you trust Christ you are saved. And so it’s not based upon a prayer or saying anything. In fact when I trusted Christ it was completely silent. I didn’t blink, I didn’t move, I didn’t talk, I didn’t grunt, I didn’t do anything, but simply trust Christ. And I knew I was saved because that’s what the Bible says. If you believe or trust in Christ, you’re not going to perish. You’ll have everlasting life. And his spirit that you are. Absolutely.
As you read the Bible, he affirms that when you read the Scriptures, especially like 1 John 513 which I love it says these things first on 513 have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know KNOW that you have H-A-V-E eternal life. So God says you can know you have it and I know I have it because God says so in the Bible and I believe God has thought the truth.
I really feel like women teachers are dangerous. The Bible says that we shouldn’t be women should not be the teachers of the word of God. K. Arthur believes you can lose your salvation and therefore is a false teacher. So what about Beth Moore? Does she believe you can lose your salvation? I’m not too sure that she does. I don’t think she does, but I don’t think she’s that clear on the gospel. So it’s, you know, I was just wondering, you know, if we were, if someone believed that way that you could lose your salvation and they’re teaching that in our church, that shouldn’t be.
That should not be. It should be come to a halt. that today you know the pastors should be responsible to make sure that bad doctor doesn’t come into the church and and and if you read Titus and then Timothy about the responsibility of elders or or leaders in the church that they’re to guard the purity of doctrine the Bible says and if they’re not if they’re allowing these things to creep in the church becomes corrupted by outside teachers and especially letting women teachers come into the church and you serve authority over what the church is teaching.
Yes, but K. Arthur, I believe he can lose your child’s hat. Absolutely, she believes you can lose your child’s hat. You’re not sure about Beth Moore? I’m not sure about hers, but I’ll try to do some research here. I haven’t paid, she hasn’t been much of my radar. I think women Bible teachers are not on my radar, but I have a research K. Arthur and, and of course, George Meyer, she says she has even sinned in ten years, not one sin.
And who was that? Joyce Meyer. Joyce Meyer. Oh, she’s really, really way out there. I mean, we’re talking about these people just leave the Bible and make up things as I go. This is a, you know, it really has, you know, first time one eight says if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. So she is self-deceived. If she says she hasn’t sinned in 10 years and you can, she doesn’t believe in hell either. She denies hell.
Joyce Meyer doesn’t believe in hell. So. Somebody’s going to be surprised. Boy, I tell you. Really, in many ways. Well, anyway, I hope that helps a little bit Lois and thank you for your call. Thank you. Thank you, Dr. Liz. We listen to you every day. Wonderful. Thank you so much. That was Lois done in Palmetto, Florida. We now have anonymous in Texas. Somewhere in Texas. That’s a big state. So somewhere out there. Anonymous is on the air. Yes, hello.
Hi. Yes, Dr. Hank. Yeah. I have a question. In Genesis 2, 24, it talks about, for this reason, a man shall leave his father and be joined his wife and they shall become one flesh. First of all, I’m confused about that because there was no mother and father before that time. And the second part of that question is that same type of verse is mentioned eight other times that throughout the Bible says. Does that have the same meaning in those other times mentioned in the Bible as it does in Genesis 2.20?
Absolutely. And of course it’s anticipating that from that first marriage where God instituted the institution of marriage, this obviously the rest that would be get married down through time would have a father and mother like the children of Adam and Eve did. And they were to leave, not necessarily that they wouldn’t be in close proximity, but they would leave them emotionally and financially and otherwise so that they’re not dependent upon mom and dad anymore. But they start their new family as they become one flesh or one new family and they are to cleaved to each other.
And a lot of marriages have problems because they’re still connected to daddy or mommy and Daddy and Mommy are still running the child’s life, although they’re married and have a new family. So it creates friction and division, and certainly God is a warning against that, but sure. That’s the meaning throughout. Does it have more of a, I guess, a sexual commutation or meaning as far as adverse codes or coming together in marriage? Is that what the meaning, if it’s the meaning, or?
I think that’s not high on the list. I think the major reason is companionship. If you read there, God said earlier that it was not good that man should be alone. He said I’m going to make him and helper meet or suitable for his needs. We find that a man and a woman come together as companions. They actually help each other because men are very factual and sometimes not very sensitive whereas the woman is more sensitive and more emotional and sees things through the eyes of compassion whereas the man is more factual.
And so I think that between the two of them they have some balance and I think women are sometimes more intuitive and they have some good advice. I know Pilate’s wife had some great advice for Pilate and he didn’t take it. Pilate’s wife said that you should have nothing to do with Christ and he went on through and has now that terrible thing hanging on and that he was the one that actually caused Christ to go to the cross.
Nobody’s naming their kid Pilate, that’s for sure. Anyway, we hope that that has helped here and are Are you still there? Yes, this also doesn’t negate the canon about honoring your father and mother, does it? No, not of course not. And in fact, my dad lived in 92 when he passed away and I continually would run things by him and get his advice. You know, they live longer and they are insightful, but obviously I made my own decisions, but I always took advantage of his wisdom being around 92 years.
I had a lot of respect for him and my mom too. And so I would ask them, what do you think about this? I’m going to make a big decision here like your input. And I would try to honor them in any way I could. But no, that doesn’t mean that. I think it means when they control in your life, you need to separate yourself from that. Great. Thank you so much. And you’re so welcome out there in Texas and the great state of Texas.
We now have Blanche and she is in Redington, sure Florida. Blanche, welcome to Bibleline you are on there. Hi, Dr. Lindstrom. I have a question about the old Abrahamic Covenant. Is this still an effect? My brother was telling me that when Jesus came with a new covenant, they were saved by grace that the old was no longer in effect. I realize that it isn’t for Christians, but how about for the Jewish nation? It is still an effect, absolutely. And is never good to be rescinded.
God has a plan for Abraham and his descendants and if you read Genesis 12 I believe that all of that is still in effect and will take place Especially after the Rapture wouldn’t God will go back to Israel and fulfill all these promises to them Exactly that’s what I believe too. Can you give me some Bible references where I can refute him from the Old Testament? well, you know I’m really out of time. I would recommend the book we have here, Everlasting Hatred by Helensie, and he just has a book who, a barrel full of verses for you that will really help you.
