Again, I’m Dr. Anchlinstrum, this is Bibleline and it’s wonderful to be with you. Thanks again for tuning into the broadcast. One will let you know that we did finish that series on the Gospel of John. This is really quite remarkable. You will not find anything like this out there if you go searching around. You can go on Google or whatever and you’ll find that nobody has a verse by verse, expository teaching of the Gospel of John on the internet.
You can’t find a CD or DVD set. We have this on CDs, 18 CDs, 18 hours of teaching. We also have it on DVDs where you can watch and hear the teaching and we go verse by verse. If you go on and Google all the best Bible teachers out there, none of them have it available in that format where they go verse by verse explaining Carefully and slowly every verse of the gospel John. I think you’re gonna like this.
We have John on CDs divided up into two Parts part one has nine CDs in a nice cassette case that keeps them organized and that’s for a gift of $50 and you can get part two which has nine CDs for again a gift of $50 or $100 gift the Bible and gets the whole series. Also we have it on DVD and that has all 18 hours of teaching with video and audio for a gift of $150 to Bible. That helps Bible and but also you’re going to get a set that is unique.
You won’t get anybody else producing that like that. And of course, I think you’ll find my presentation is unique as Bibleline is unique. We’re so glad you tuned in today. I hope you’re having a great day. It’s Monday and we’ll be here all week long Monday through Friday. Want to welcome new listeners if you’re listening for the first time. We hope you’ll enjoy the Bibleline teaching. We know that we have some wonderful people out there that listen every day.
We get nice notes of words and words of encouragement from our listeners. And we are excited about the Bible program this morning. If you have your Bible, you might want to get it out and we’ll take a look at the scriptures. And I hope that you will follow along with me in your Bible. And if you have a question, we’ll be glad to put you up on the air or we’ll take your question off air. So please open up your Bible.
We’re going to turn to the book of Galatians and in the book of Galatians it talks about the law cannot save you. The law cannot save you. You know, the Ten Commandments cannot save anyone because no one has ever kept them. Jesus said in 1 Corinthians, rather in John’s Gospel chapter 7 verse 19, did not Moses give you the law and yet none of you have kept it? None of you. Not one person has ever kept the law. Everyone of us have sinned and have come short of the glory of God.
But yet there are those who teach you must keep the Ten Commandments to be saved. Well guess what? If you are attempting to be saved by the law, then you are placing yourself under God’s curse. Let me read to you Galatians chapter 3 verse 10, where it says, for as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse. Or it is written. That quotes down in the Old Testament where it says, cursed, cursed, not blessed, but cursed, or cursed is everyone that continues, if not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
In other words, if you were to try to be justified by the law, you would have to keep all of the law and you’d have to keep it continuously right up until the moment you died. If you ever failed, you would be cursed by the law and condemned to go to hell. James tells us in chapter 2 verse 10, it says, whose forever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point is guilty of all. Whoa, you mean if you kept all the law faithfully, all of your life and just broke the law in one point, James says you’d be guilty of all.
I have a little illustration. Let’s just say that you were on the edge of a cliff, and there’s a tree with a limb hanging out over the cliff. And down below 1,000 feet is jagged rocks, and you wouldn’t want to fall off the edge of the cliff. But let’s say that there was a chain secured to the branch of the tree, and you to grab that chain and swing out over the edge of the cliff and then come back safely to the surface of the ground back on the tree side.
You would be just fine, but I’m sure it would give you a little bit of a thrill there because of the danger. If you let go, you’d be in deep trouble. But let’s say that there was just one link in the chain that was rusted out. If you were to grab on that chain and swing out over the edge of the cliff and that link that was rusted broke, you’d only fall one inch, right? Because only one link in the chain broke?
Of course not. If one link breaks, you’ve gone, you’re dead, you’re toasted, you’re headed down to the bottom of the ravine and there you’ll be smashed upon the rocks and you’ll be killed. It only takes one link in the chain to break and if you are to keep the whole law and just defend in one point you would be guilty of all. If you have a balloon and it’s filled up and it’s beautiful and you take just a pin and you say I’m just gonna put one teeny hole in this balloon.
I’m just gonna poke it with my pin and just poke one little hole in it. Well, guess what? The whole balloon is going to explode, isn’t it? And it will be over for that balloon. Again, only one thing would cause you to go to hell according to the Bible. Revelation 21, 27 says one lie would be enough to keep you out of heaven. It says in Galatians 3, if you read the next verse, that, but that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is what?
Evident for the just to live my faith. So here it says, no man is justified by the law in the sight of God. You could never ever get to heaven by keeping the commandments. Just one break, one time when you would fail would cause you to go to hell. Verse 10, let me read it again. The person is everyone that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. If you do not keep all the law continuously all of your life, you would be damned to hell.
You would be cursed by the law. And obviously if you were to start right now, you really wouldn’t have a chance because you’ve already broken the law prior to this point. So it’s a futile effort. Abraham in this very same chapter in Galatians chapter 3 was saved by faith. It says in verse 6 even as Abraham believed God and it was a Canada to him for righteousness Abraham was saved by just faith when he trusted Christ as his Savior.
He was saved and He was saved eternally and and he could never ever be lost because it’s a gift it’s received by faith alone. So obviously Abraham simply trusted God. It says here let me just read it again verse 6, even as Abraham believed God and it was a candidate for righteousness. It didn’t say believe in God, he believed God. What God told him was salvation would come by faith. And it would come by faith in the promised seed that would come of Abraham’s lineage.
And that seed, of course, is Jesus. And Abraham believed on Jesus and trusted him as his Savior. And that’s how Abraham was saved. It says here, Abraham believed God and it was a Canada in righteousness. But his eight says, and this is quite an incredible verse, and the scripture for seeing that God would justify the heathen or the nations through the And that seed of course is Jesus. And Abraham believed on Jesus and trusted him as his Savior. And that’s how Abraham was saved.
It says here, Abraham believed God and it was a Canada in periciseness. Verse 8 says, and this is quite an incredible verse, and the scripture for seeing that God would justify the heathen or the nations through Through faith preached before the gospel under Abraham. You The gospel was preached to Abraham. Abraham heard the gospel, believed the gospel, and was saved by believing the gospel message. Isn’t that an incredible verse? That’s Galatians 3.8. The scripture, that’s the Old Testament Bible now, foreseeing that God would justify the the heathen through faith or the nations through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham.
So the gospel was preached to Abraham. Abraham believed God, he believed the gospel, and it was counted to him for righteousness. So Abraham was made righteous. Not by his works. By his works he would have been condemned because we’ve all broken the law and curses Everyone that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them But Abraham trusted in Christ believed the gospel message and was therefore saved and so if you are Believer you are seen by God as Righteous Well, I hope you’ve trusted Christ because there’s no other way to heaven.
That’s for sure. I’m Dr Franklin from this is by blood we’re going to go to the phone lines that phone number is if you’d like to call in 1-800-576-3771 and we’re going to go to Alabama and we’re going to talk to Shirley and let’s see what Shirley has to say Shirley welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Shirley are you there Hello Shirley. I think we lost Shirley and so we don’t have Shirley there. We’ll have to have her call back.
Give us a call 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. 7-1. Surely give us a call back. We’ll get you up on the air. We don’t know what happened there, but we apparently lost your call. We have a number of off-air questions, and we’ll try to get some of those today. I have some people saying, when are you going to get to my question? And of course we are trying to take the on-air questions first, and we hope that you will be Now, patient with me and we’ll try to get those as quickly as we can.
All right, we’re gonna Is Shirley on the line though? Okay, Shirley welcome to Bibleline you’re up on the air. Hello Shirley Shirley no, no, this is Annie. Oh, hi Annie. Well, you’re on the air. Go ahead. I Just lost my 16 year old daughter. We had to take her off life support about about one week ago from today. And my question is, my daughter knew about Jesus. And we did what we felt, all the right things. She was confirmed.
And I remember sitting on her bed. And we would talk to Jesus. I would say, the only way to have in it through Jesus and what He did for us is to go, oh, yes, mom. But as a mom, as a teenager, we just don’t know where your child is or how God judges upon when they die. And I just need that peace to know that she really is there. And heaven will be together one day as God promised us.
Amen. Well, if she said those words that she trusted in Christ or she understood that, then I would take her word for it and according to God’s word she is with the Lord right now. Let me just give you a couple of verses. Second Corinthians 5, 8 says, absent from the body, present with the Lord. Second Corinthians 5, 8. So at the moment a person slips into eternity, they are absent from this body and immediately present with the Lord.
There of course, she’s in the presence of the Lord and she’s going to receive a new body one day. And of course, If you are a believer also then you will join her one day and you will be with her. I lost my son a number of years ago in a car accident. He was just 16 and I certainly can feel… I know he had trusted Christ’s Savior and I have no doubt that he’s in heaven with the Lord.
I look forward to being able to be with him again. That will come whenever the rapture happens or whenever I pass away, then I’ll be able to see my son again. You’ll be able to see yours as well. The Bible gives us assurance that if you trust Christ there’s only one condition for salvation. and that is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and now shall be saved. So there’s nothing else about her life that would determine whether she made heaven or not.
If she has simply trusted Christ, then she is saved and she is with the Lord and we have that wonderful promise that will be reunited. The fourth chapter of 1st Thessalonians talks about the wonderful reunion that we as believers will experience. But those that have died who have gone before us, and it says in verse 13, I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those which have already died, which have believed in Jesus. And then tells the means by which will be put together again.
That is if we believe the gospel, if we believe verse 14 of verse last line is for that Jesus died and rose again, then we’re going to be with him there in heaven. I hope that helps a little bit. It does. It does because you know teenagers, they want to be perfect in their parents eyes. They don’t want to be disappointing it, but you never know what’s in their heart. You know, I don’t know if she’s good at 16.
My faith wasn’t as strong, of course, as it is today as we grow. We develop even more of an understanding of the Bible and our faith. And you know, you just don’t know where a 16-year-old is. And those are my fears, Layla. But again, it’s not how much faith she has is whether she placed her faith in Christ or not, because it’s Christ who saves. And a little faith, like the grain of a mustard seed in Christ, will save.
And you can have all the faith and all the world in a palm tree as your Savior, and you’re not going to go anywhere. So it’s obviously that if she confessed that she believed that Jesus is her Savior, as you just said a moment ago then she’s in heaven with the Lord. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. We’ll be praying for you. I know that’s a great loss. It is a great loss. Sometimes I don’t know how to go on and I didn’t know you lost a son but it’s just hard to breathe these days, you know?
Yes it is. And I just was so surprised. I never dreamed that he would go before I would. And this absolutely was a very tragic event, yet at the same time it was a glorious event because for him he’s in heaven and I put that message on his tombstone even that if you want to see Matt again you have to trust Christ because he’s in heaven. So we’ll be praying for you. Thank you and we are now going to go to Shirley who has been patiently waiting from Alabama.
welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air right on the way fate of the dead people people. Yes. And he said that that some were a way to everlasting contempt and some were way to ever last an eternal life. Right. That’s Daniel 12, 2, and 3. you mean that’s in Daniel chapter 12 verse 2 and 3 okay but anyway he said that the other partners said that some will wake to good news even those that So I came home and looked it up in the compartner and I found one in Daniel.
But I want you to explain if they are weak, how could they awake to good judgment? And my other question is where do I find the passage that says? Well let me talk about that for just a minute while you gather your thoughts together. the sum will wait to everlasting life is speak here speaks here of the resurrection of the body The soul does not sleep the soul is conscious and is present with the Lord for the believer at the moment of death and for the unbeliever The soul is conscious and awake in a place called Hades where they will never get out of there.
They’ll eventually be cast into hell, but they’ll never escape the fact that they’re going to go to hell. In Luke 16 we have the story of two men who die, a rich man who’s unsaved and a believer named Lazarus Abeger who is saved and they both die and one is in claimant torment in Hades. The other is in paradise with all the other Old Testament saints and so they were conscious. They had memory. They could converse. They were fully aware of their circumstances, but they had two different faiths.
And so when you die, that’s the moment when it happens. It’s forever too late once you die. If you haven’t trusted Christ, then it’s over. Daniel’s talking about the body awakening at the resurrection and they will have of course the resurrection body to spend eternity with the Lord with and for the unbelievers they’ll be cast into hell while they’ll experience everlasting shame and everlasting contempt. Okay, but he made it perfectly clear that even the one that died not knowing Christ, Well, I’m going to say God because I think he was talking about the one in the Old Testament, but still Abraham trusted God.
Absolutely Abraham was saved by trusting Christ as Savior. So even if those people in the Old Testament died on knowing God would they still have another chance after death? No, absolutely not. Once you died still, like if you died as an unbeliever, then you’re forever lost. That’s what I thought. It was some guy never heard it before was late in the morning. I’m got out of New York or car harnessed in someone. Well, sounds like he was mixed up and not correct.
Don’t believe everybody here. You have to check out everything. I know. I did check it out. And I’m glad you did. Okay. My next question was where do I find in the scripture where doesn’t it begin in the house of God? That’s in Peter. It’s talking in chapter 4, their first Peter, about how we’re going to be judged as believers before the unbelievers are judged. There are degrees of reward in heaven for believers, and we’re going to be judged at the judgment seat of Christ to determine the degree of reward or loss of reward we’ll have in heaven.
Unbelievers will a thousand years later, after the thousand year reign of Christ, be judged at the great white throne judgment and they will be judged according to their works to determine the degree of punishment and health. So the judgment begins first with the believers. We are in the judgment that occurs first and that will be at the return of Christ at the rapture and unbelievers will have their judgment after the thousand year earthly reign of Christ. 1 Peter chapter 4, Bob verse 16 or so.
I haven’t turned there but if my memory serves me right it’s very close there. Alright, thank you so much after God bless you. You’re sure welcome. Thank you for calling in today. We now have Jerry and Jerry is in Zephyr Hills, Florida. Jerry, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, sir. I was wondering if there was any more significant to Syria and Iran, but the other question there is at this point most important. How does a man or woman absolutely know that they call it in business industry?
I’ll come up and listen to your answer. Thank you sir. Certainly Damascus is kind of a bad to future head because the Bible talks about Syria and I’ve been to Damascus. I’ve stayed in Damascus. I’ve been to the street called straight where Paul got saved in Damascus. But that country today is headed toward destruction. The Bible tells us that Damascus will become just a heap. It’s going to be destroyed. We know that will happen at Armageddon seven years after the Rapture.
They are going to be in deep trouble. How can you know that you’re called into the ministry? The book of Acts you read about the Macedonian call. The clearest, I think, illustration where Paul saw vision, a man in Macedonia saying, come and help us. And there are three things involved. Number one, you are presented with a need. You see the need. The people are lost and they need to know Christ. And then you have a desire to meet that need.
And certainly Paul had that desire and he set out to go to Macedonia to reach them. And then thirdly, he had the ability to reach those people. He had the gifts to do that. And so in any case, He had all three and therefore if that happens you are called. And so I hope that helps. And I hope that if you, we just lost that call so we don’t have it anymore. But thank you for calling in. We’re coming up on our break time here and we appreciate all of you who are listening today and we have that gospel of John so that we just completed.
you can get that in just part one and then later get part two. But I think you’re going to really enjoy that verse by verse. And of course, I have lots of teaching series that way where you actually have somebody, myself, commenting on each verse of the Bible as we go through that study. So I hope you’ll maybe take a look at our online bookstore on the internet or take a look at it by coming by if you’re in the area.
We’re going to go to break and we’re going to come back into a second half hour. If you could help Bible and please pray for us that if you could help us financially, you could give a gift to Bible and over the phone by credit card. It would really help Bible and to make sure that we stay on the air in your area. Thank you for listening today. We’re going to take a short break. We’ll come right back and we’ll do a second half hour of Bible and so keep your right where it is.
Don’t change it at all. We will be right back. I’m going to say, hey, hey. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-37-7. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We appreciate all of you who are listening and we hope that the program is fun, interesting and also answering your questions to the Bible. That’s what it’s all about. You can get a copy of this program by calling in and asking for it.
It’s going to be cost of $5 plus shipping. But also you can go to the internet and hear these programs again and again if you have internet access. Go to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org or .com and you will be able to click on the spinning globe and get our radio programs for the past year including today’s broadcast right now is live up on the internet and you can listen to them as often as you like. In fact, we have the programs able to be downloaded.
A lot of people download them. We have podcasting. We have all of the things that will help you to be able to capture these programs and put them in your iPod and carry them about and so on. We also have our television programs. You click on the TV set for that. And if you want, you can click on the camera and catch our worship services. We had a lot of folks all over the country yesterday. watching and listening to our Sunday worship service and you don’t have to listen live on Sunday morning.
You may be attending your church but you can go back during the week and right now we have 44 Sunday messages sitting there on the internet that you can listen to. Why not try that out? Go to Bibleline ministries.org or .com. I get asked all the time, can my relative in such and such a city here by blind. Well we may not be broadcasting on a station there but if they have internet they certainly can here by blind on the internet because we’re there 24 hours a day seven days a week so it really works out real nice.
I have a sister in Ohio where we’re not on the air and she is able to listen every day by going to the internet and she She calls me and tells me I like this or I didn’t like that. She comments with me about the program and it’s wonderful that my family and friends can listen wherever they might be in the United States even though they do not have the live broadcast. And so again I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and we hope you’ll pray for Bibleline.
If you have an opportunity to give to Bibleline you could give a gift by credit card over the phone and we certainly would appreciate that if you want an envelope sent to you with our address on it. We can do that as well. Call our 800 number. Our operators are standing by and they’ll. We’re going to rejoin stations now that have been on break and do the second half of my blind. So keep your radio dial tuned right where it is and we’re going to be right back.
Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. to be with you today. It’s Monday. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church. And we look forward to being with you every day. God bless all of you who listen and we have such nice things from all of you. And we love to meet our audience.
If you ever get a chance to come by and visit with us, we’d love to have you do that. And we had quite a number of people that came by and worshiped with us yesterday that live quite a distance but came because they wanted to actually visit with us and that’s exciting and we look forward to that. We’re going to have by the way another baptism on the 21st of October and that’s a Sunday in the afternoon and we have people sometimes that say I would like to have you baptize me you led me to Christ on the radio and we’d be happy to include you in our baptism and so if that interests you the next one that we’re going to be doing and We usually do them in a lake very close to the church And it’s just a wonderful outdoor experience.
I love doing it outdoors I love baptizing people in thelations we hope to go again next year and maybe if you want to go with me I’ll baptize you in the Jordan River We baptized several this past March when we were over there. We had a wonderful trip We’d love to get you on our prospect list if you think you’d like to go with me It will be trip number 15 for me and we’ll have a wonderful time just walking in the footsteps of the prophets and of the apostles and of course Jesus Christ himself.
So plan to go with me this coming year, maybe around April 1st somewhere there in the year 2008 if we’re still here and that would be great. We certainly appreciate all of you who pray for and give divine blind because you’re the means of which we stay on the air. We are totally, well I mean totally dependent upon our listeners to be able to stay on the air. There’s no other way we could be on the air without your participation, without your help.
And so if you would pray for Bible and we’d appreciate that, and if you’d be able to give to help Bible and out, your gift would be greatly appreciated. No gift is too small, but if you could give a generous gift that would be really helpful, we don’t pay any salaries. So everything really goes back into ministry and allowing us to reach out as far as we can with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Well our lines are lighted up and we’re excited about being with you and so let’s see what we have here.
We have Jordan in New York and Jordan, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hi, sir. How are you? Good. My question is regarding Revelation 21 verse 8. It talks about the cowardly inherited place would be in the lake of fire. I just wanted the free gift to return a life I think is great. Where do you draw the line and know if you’re a coward? Is that not talking about that? It’s not talking about that. talking about those who have not trusted the Lord as their Savior and all those things are descriptions of those who are lost who have not believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.
There’s not quite a list there. Are you looking at the one in chapter 20 or 21 verse 8? 21 verse 8. Let me take a look at that one. And here it says, but the fearful and unbelieving. That is the key word they’re unbelieving. The abominable murderers, hormongers, sorcerers, adulters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. I don’t see cowards there. I don’t know what translation you’re using, but maybe the But anyway, it’s basically unbelievers.
If you notice earlier, it tells us in verse 8, verse 7, he did overcome us, he’ll inherit all things and I’ll be his God and he shall be my son. That speaks about the new birth and of course, the overcomer is a believer. It 1 John chapter 4 and it says there in 1 John chapter 4 that if you, if in 1 John chapter 4, if you’re a believer, then you’re an overcomer. It says, whosoever is born of God or whatsoever is born of God, overcome with the world.
And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. And then verse 5 is even better where it says, who is he that overcome with the world, but he to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So when you are a believer, you’re in and you’re in forever and he’ll never lose you, he’ll never cast you out, you’re saved forever the moment you trust Jesus as your Savior. So you’re in and you don’t have to worry about ever being lost once you trust Christ and Savior.
Hope that helps. So my translation says the cowardly, it’s the NASB translation and it says the cowardly And sometimes people use that to say, if you don’t stand up for Christ, or these are the people who would share the gospel. You’re hearing bad teaching. That certainly is not true at all. That whole group there are those who are not included in verse seven. Those in verse seven are believers, and they are saved. And then the next verse talks about the cowardly or fearful and unbelieving.
They’re unbelieving, that’s the key thing. They don’t receive prices or Savior. And once you become saved, your stuck price says, I will not cast you out for any reason. Right now in John 637, him that cometh to me, Christ said, I will in no one is cast out. So there’s nothing under the sun that could happen that would ever cause you to be cast out. And even better than that, John 639, Christ makesarcity promise there that he would not lose one person who has ever come to him.
So if you’ve come to Christ, he’s not going to lose you. If one person in all of history were ever lost after they came to Christ, Jesus would be a liar. Certainly never going to happen. You’re saved forever the moment you trust Christ, and you cannot be lost once that happens. Okay. Okay. And this is good, good, good, that’s right. Thank you so much for coming in, and that was from New York, and we appreciate your call. We’re now going to, we’re now going to go to Sharon, and she is in St.
Petersburg, Florida, and Sharon, welcome to the Bible on your on the air. Sharon? Yeah, you’re on the air. Yes, I’m here. Yes, this was a lady that was speaking earlier concerning the, you know, the spirits and the souls, and I want to pass her his bible study and i’ve studied with the jojoba witnesses for many years and i think uh… that are you brought me out of that hope amen there in the uh… book will be free on fire first peter and the first peter it’s um…
three nineteen Go ahead. But the job of witnesses and he believed that when you’re dead, you’re dead. I learned, thank God, from the book of, I’m sorry, I’m a little nervous here, Ephesians is 4’9″, that when Jesus died, he went to the lower part of the earth and preached to those souls that had died before he came. Okay, we just got disconnected there. And anyway, the point there is you’ve mixed up two passages there. In Ephesians 4, 8 through 10, it talks about Christ taking the Old Testament saints out of the heart of the earth and taking them up to heaven upon his death their own resurrection.
When Christ died, he went down into the heart of the earth. Jesus said that in Matthew 1240 that he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. At the same time he told the dying thief, today thou shalt be with me in paradise. So we know that paradise was in the heart of the earth and he took all of the Old Testament saints up to heaven. And that’s where they are now. They’re still awaiting their resurrection bodies that will not happen until Christ comes back in his second coming.
When it talks about preaching, that’s in 1 Peter chapter 3, and that’s another ball game, but it’s talking there about Noah preaching to those that were disobedient during that 120 years while he was preparing the ark. And the disobedience, they were talking about disobedience to the gospel. They would not believe on Christ. There’s only one way to be saved, that’s to be obedient to the gospel, and of course that would mean to believe or trust on Christ. But if you’re disobedient to the gospel, it means you refuse to believe on Christ, and as a result, you are lost and you are lost forever.
So I hope that helps clarify it, and we certainly would like to have you call back if we didn’t get that all straight enough for you. We have a call now from Jackson, the Lord of Sophia. Welcome to Bibleline oops. We apparently don’t have that call and so I don’t know what happened there. We lost them. And now we have, who do we have here? Who’s this? Armando, Armando. Welcome to Bibleline. How are you? I’m doing good. I’d like to ask you a question I was reading yesterday.
One, can you please give me an explanation that there’s going to end up and listen to you? All right. I’m turning there right now and let me see what it says. Romans chapter 11 verse 21. Romans 11 verse 21. Almost there and I’ll be there in just a second. Romans 11 21, if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also not spare thee. This is speaking about God’s overall plan for the Jews, the Gentiles and the Church of God.
And what it’s saying here is that the natural branches, that is the physical descendants of Abraham, were cut off and it says in verse 22 because of their unbelief. So basically Israel has been set on the sine lines for the past 2000 years, while God has taken the wild branches, the Gentile, and grafted us into the root. root. So we still have the same salvation that Abraham had, but we’re, for the most part, in this age, Gentiles that have received Christ as Savior.
And he’s warning us here that corporately, not individually, but corporately, if we do the same thing that Israel did, is that we go away from God’s Word and are not responsive as a group, then God will go back to the Gentiles, to the Jews and that’s exactly what he’s going to do and that’s the plan here. He says here in verse 25, I would not brethren that you should be ignorant of this mystery unless you should be wise in your own conceits that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles come in.
So that is when of course the rapture happens and we have the Paulness of this Gentile age, the church age, being completed and then will be raptured out, then it will go back, God will go back to dealing with Israel. So we’re about done for right now. You can see how the Gentile world is going further and further from God and obviously we are in the same condition corporately as the Jews were when Christ came the first time and he set them on side and they were broken off as a group because of their unbelief.
And if they, when we do the same thing, then he’ll go back to dealing with the Israel. It’s not talking about an individual losing salvation. That certainly is not even what is in view. So good to be able to talk to you today. The phone number here is 1-800-576-3771. So, we appreciate all of you who call in and we hope that we can get to answer your question here in just a moment. phone numbers 1-800-576. 3-7-7-1. We’ve got now, Jackson, go back on the line.
Sophia, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. Having phone troubles could mean it’s pouring rain up here. Yeah, pouring rain. Okay, I have two questions and I’ll take the answer off the air because I’m in my car driving and I have my Bible again. But the last time I was reading where would Jesus went out to the mountain to pray? It says he prayed to God to Father. So I don’t know how to explain that to people who are not believers when it says Jesus prayed to God himself.
So they’re at they ask me if God was Jesus and Jesus is God, why is he praying to himself like that? How can he pray to God the Father? I don’t know how to answer that question. The people and the other thing is in the book of Revelation some place where it talks about your old men have dreams and the women have prophesied. What do you think on that subject about the women prophesying? I’ll hang up and take those answers off the air and have a good day, sir.
All right. Well, as far as the women prophesying, that’s going to be fulfilled at the second coming of Christ. Until then, absolutely not. In other words, if you read the prophecy, it comes from the Prophet Joel. In Joel chapter 2 and verse 20, it says, and after these things, that God would pour out His Holy Spirit upon all flesh. Well, first of all, that’s never happened yet. For several reasons, we know that certainly not everybody on the planet has the Holy Spirit.
It says all flesh, and that means really all flesh. And then it This is after these things that if you read Joel chapter 2, it’s after the destruction of Russia at the Battle of Armageddon, Joel 2, 20. It’s after Jesus has returned, the following verses after verse 20 till you get to verse 28. It’s talking about Christ coming back and ruling in Israel as their king. And after that has happened, then he pours out his Holy Spirit upon all flesh.
And at that point he will have killed all the unbelievers at the end of the tribulation period. left is believers. And so the Holy Spirit will be poured out upon all flesh that’s at the second coming after the unbelievers have been destroyed, after Russia has been destroyed at the Battle of Armageddon, and after Christ has come back to rule and reign, he’ll pour out his spirit and it will be then and only then that their sons and daughters will prophesy.
So that passage is taken out of context by those who try to claim it’s for now. That is obviously mishandling the word of God. We’re now going to go to Sandra in Tampa, Florida and Sandra, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Good morning. I’ve been listening to your program for a very long time now and I would like to get your opinion on something. If a woman has been married, first husband and committed adultery, the worst of Mary, the woman who he committed adultery with.
And she’s married and then she married a second husband. He commits adultery and she goes away and leaves them and he files for divorce and divorce itself for the other woman who he committed, one of them and he committed adultery with. And she gets married for the third time. That is adultery. That’s a full string, it sounds like of adult relationships. But again, the Lord offers salvation to everyone, no matter how sinful you’ve been. You know in John 4, the woman at the well, had had five husbands.
Actually none of them were her husbands. She lived with five different men. And of course she got saved and and and look at how God Has used her testimony down through the years to win many people to Christ in the gospel of John But definitely she had problems And and I’m sure that those problems related to the marriages were never really Probably resolved in her lifetime and that’s the difficulty it causes problems that you have to live with till you die and take He can leave this world, but for God to be in the center of His will, He intends for one woman and one man to be married till death to the part.
But these things today are a sign of the times. Jesus said in the last days it would be an evil and an adulterous generation. Boy, that certainly does describe the way it is today. It was that way when Christ came the first time. It said it would be an evil and an adultist generation. And we’re seeing those things happening. And it seems like this is a time when God is going to intervene. And we believe that shortly He’ll rapture us out and then He’ll bring judgment on the earth through and that seven years of tribulation.
And being patient, He gives people seven years after the rapture to come to know Christ a Savior. And if they don’t by the time that seven years is up, he will destroy all of the unbelievers. On the earth. So I hope that helps a little bit. I don’t know if I got the full drift to your question, but it seems to be getting pretty complicated when we go from one to one to another. The other thing that my attention was in Revelation chapter 21, the last verse, it’s 27.
It says and there she’ll and no wise enter into it anything that be silent neither whatsoever work is abomination. That’s exactly right. But you are written in the lamp, because of life. Now what happens there is if you have not trusted Christ, then any sin, even one lie, as you read that carefully, would keep you out of heaven. But if you trust Christ, then your name is permanently in the book of life and you will be able to enter heaven.
So we are not going to enter heaven based upon our deeds or our conduct or behavior. going to enter heaven based upon Christ’s forgiveness and what He did for us at the cross. So it’s not what we do that saves us or what we do not do that saves us. It’s what Christ did for us. And when you trust Christ, you become saved and saved eternally. So you have to split the verse there. The first part says all of us would be excluded because even a lie would keep us out and that would keep me out.
That would keep you out. That would keep everybody out so we can list more serious sins but a lie is enough to keep you out of heaven but when you trust Christ then your name is permanently in the book of life and you will definitely enter heaven so only those who have their names in the book of life that have trusted Christ the Savior are going to be saved. You’re so welcome and thank you for calling in today and now we have Sophia again and I think I missed one of your questions go ahead so you know the other one i think you must have just a lot i just want to know quickly how are you supposed to witness could unbelievable when they’re when you’re talking about jesus and then him being god himself in the flesh but when it says the bible like he went to the mountain to pray i think it was in the
luke or uh… well a lot of that’s missing it was saying he went to pray pray to the god the father so let me take the answer off the animal myself i can hear you how do you explain to them that he’s the praying to god well here’s the answer Jesus Christ is God, but at the same time he’s a man. He’s a human being. God took on human flesh. That’s the marvelous thing about Jesus. It says in John 1-1 that the word was with God and the word was God and it says in verse 14 that the word which is Jesus was made flesh.
So here’s Jesus who is God being made flesh and He takes on a human body. Jesus as a man prays to God as you and I would pray. He’s a great example to us about how to live our lives and how to pray and so on. In John 20 when he told Mary not to touch him, he says, I’ve not yet ascended to my God and your God and my Father and your Father. He’s talking there as a man.
So you have to recognize that there are two truths about Christ that we have to recognize His humanity and His deity. As a man, He got hungry. As a man, He got tired. As a man, He experienced human emotions. He wept and so on and so on. But as God, He could raise the dead. He could walk on the water. He could multiply the loaves and the fishes and so many other things. So the answer is that Jesus as a man did depend upon God the Father and cried out to him and prayed to him.
But as God, obviously he did not need to do so. And so you’ll notice in all those places it’s a reference to the man Jesus. When we talk about the death of the cross, it wasn’t God that died, but it was the man Jesus that died. And the Bible puts the focus on that. It says in Hebrews 10-10, by the which will or by the will of God, we are sanctified through the offering of the body, B-O-D-Y, of Jesus once for all.
And then this is in verse 12, this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of the Father on high. So we know that it was the man Jesus that died, and it is the man Jesus that is the mediator between God and men. Jesus is God. But as a man, he’s the mediator. It says in 1 Timothy 2.5, there’s one God and one mediator between God and men, the MAN Christ Jesus.
And I hope that helps and I know that you told me you’d hang up and certainly you did. Alright, we have another caller here and this is about the last one we’ll be able to do today. This is Barry in Clearwater, Florida and Barry, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Barry, are you there? Let me get my button again here. Barry. Hello, come in Barry. What Barry is the now tone so Barry is not there. So we have enjoyed being with you today and I hope you’ve enjoyed being with us.
We are coming to the close and so we’re just going to probably not be able to take any more calls today. But we’ll be back tomorrow. I hope you’ll join me. And I hope, of course, you’ll go to the internet and check out our programs there that have been put in our archive. And, of course, you can listen to today’s program again and again and again. If you’ve never trusted Christ, would you just whisper that prayer between you and the Lord and just say, Lord, I’m a sinner.
But I believe Jesus paid for my sins at the cross by His death and shed blood was buried and came back again from the dead. The moment you trust Him as your only hope of heaven, God of heaven knows and He saves you. And there is nothing that can ever undo that salvation. It says in Romans 8, 38, and 39, I am persuaded, that means thoroughly convinced that neither death nor life nor angels or principalities or things present or things to come nor height or any other creature shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
So even like the gentleman who called and said what about if I’m fearful as a believer nothing can separate you from the love of God. You’re safe forever. Thank you for tuning in today. I hope you’ll pray for Bibleline. If you can give a gift to Bibleline today, call us and give it by credit card over the phone and Tennyson to get in the mora and we’ll be back.
