We got them in a nice compact book like CD holder that holds nine in each and for a gift of $50 you can get part one, nine hours or $50 part two, nine hours or a total of 18 CDs and 18 hours of teaching.

Actually it’s more than 18 hours of teaching because all of my My classes ran about 63 to 66 minutes long, and so you’re really getting probably 19 or 20 hours of teaching total when you add it all up. I haven’t done the math, but clearly about 19 hours of teaching for the 18 CDs, and you’ll find that I think a real great set. Then I think it’ll help you when you want to go on a systematic study of the Gospel of John.

We’re talking about the Bible, then we’ll be taking our phone calls today, and we invite you to call in at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771, and we hope that you will indeed call in and leave an off-air question or call in and leave an on-air question. We certainly hope that you will be a part of the program today listening and also participating my asking your questions and I hope you will enjoy the full program today. This is Bible and again we are going to get into the Bible.

One of the biggest questions that gets asked all the time is about James chapter 2. How do you answer that when the cults clearly know that they can use this effectively to add works to salvation? The Jehovah’s Witnesses will say Faith Without Works is dead. Mormons will say, Faith Without Works is Dead. The Seventh Adventists will say, Faith Without Works is Dead, and so on. And many other Christian denominations that teach works for salvation will obviously use this passage.

You know, when we talk about salvation, if you add any works, you will have no salvation at all. It says over in Galatians 5, 4, Christ is become of no effect unto you. Whose whoever of you are justified by the law or by works, you are fallen from grace. What it’s saying there is if you attempt to add any human work, any law, anything you must do as a condition of salvation in addition to faith in Christ as Savior, then it’s saying that Christ will count nothing for you.

If Christ counts nothing for you, my friend, you’re going to wind up in hell. Christ is the only means of deliverance from hell. If you reject him, you cannot escape hell. Jesus said that very clearly to the religious leaders of his time in Matthew 23, 33. He says, you generation of vipers. He calls him a bunch of serpents, He makes and he says, how can you escape the damnation of hell? He’s saying that because they rejected him the only savior and if you reject Christ, if you die without Christ, you will be forever lost and condemned to an eternity in hell.

Amazing! But a lot of people don’t get the picture. They feel like here’s a lot of people feel. Well yeah, I believe in Christ. But if I add extra things to the menu, that makes me more secure. That I’m more secure as far as getting to heaven because God is going to see all these great things that I’m doing. Well, that’s not the case at all. If you add anything to what Christ did, you have made null and void God’s offer of salvation, which is by grace and is through faith.

It’s not of works Ephesians 2.9 says, not of works list any man should boast or brag. So obviously you cannot, you cannot add any work to what Christ has done in order to be saved. You must trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. There is no other way to be able to enter heaven. In James 2, the verse that usually comes up is Faith Without Works is Dead. But you know that’s explained in verse 26, it’s saying, as the body without the spirit is dead, in the same way, Faith Without Works is dead.

In other words, Faith Without Works is like the body being without the spirit. If I were to drop dead right now, my body would slump to the floor, and you would not be able to detect in the physical realm any more than I’m alive. And yet, biblically, I have eternal life. I would be absent in the body, present with the Lord. I’d be conscious. I’d be able to be aware of my circumstances, and I’d receive a new body in heaven.

But my body enables me to display the life of my soul in the physical realm. In the same way, works are the means by which we can display the life of our faith, the fact that we have faith. And only by our works can we display it to somebody else. James is not talking about how to be saved. In James chapter 1, he talks about us that are born again, calls on my brother and my brother and my brother and my brother.

He talks about us being begotten again in chapter 1 by God, by the Word of God. When we trust Christ the Savior we are born again. And then he talks about in verse 12 about the judgment seat of Christ. He says, spoke so speaky and so do ye as they that will be judged by the law of liberty. That is the judgment by which Christians will be judged when they give an account for what they have done since they have been saved after you die as a believer you will stand before this judgment.

Unbeliever will stand at a totally different judgment a thousand years later and They will be judged according to their works to determine the degree of punishment and help But believers are going to give an account and so James is saying then in 214 of James What does it profit my brethren? He’s talking to believers and he’s talking about profit that speaks of reward Salvation is always without exception not one exception in the Bible spoken of as a gift and So, it says in Romans 6, 23, the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2, 8 says, by grace are you saved through faith in Jesus Christ and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. It is the gift of God. It is the gift of God. It says in verse 9, not of works. any man should boast or brite. It has nothing to do with our works. And that’s hard for people to comprehend because usually almost everything in life comes as a result of your labor and of your works, but not salvation.

If we could have purchased it, Christ never needed to die. But He died because there was no other way to heaven but by trusting Jesus Christ as the only means of that salvation. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. If you haven’t you are in trouble. Well, it says also in James 2.14, if he has faith and has not works, can faith save him? And most people make the mistake of thinking about salvation from hell. It’s not talking about salvation from hell.

And you know the word save, you have to determine the meaning in the context. In the book of Acts, we have Paul in a ship in a great storm. And the Lord tells him to tell all the people on the ship that they have to abide in the ship if they are going to be saved. So what does he preach? He says there in Acts, except you abide in the ship, you cannot be saved. Now is he talking about eternal life?

No. He is talking about physical life in this particular instance and he is talking about if they stayed on the ship they would manage to get the shore safely in that great and terrible storm. So it’s not talking about eternal life in that particular case. So the word salvation or the word saved doesn’t always mean from help. And in James 2, he’s talking about the judgment seat of Christ. We already mentioned that in verse 12. And he’s saying, if you don’t have any works as a believer.

Can faith save you from the embarrassment that regret the sorrow, the disapproval, the loss of reward, and the tears that will be shed by the believer at the end of the day? at the judgment seat of Christ. James is warning his readers that are believers. They’re born again, they’re called brethren, and he’s talking about not salvation but rewards. And will you You escape the loss of reward, the judgment seat of Christ. Christ will bring about some amazing things. Numerous verses talk about believers being ashamed at that particular judgment.

And others, God will pat on the back and say, well done, thou good and faithful servant. My friend, where will you stand at the judgment of Christ? James is not talking about loss of reward. Many people make the mistake of saying that if you have no works, you have a dead faith because they use the phrase, Faith Without Works is dead. And they say if you have a dead faith, it means you have no faith, that means you are not saved.

That is not the truth at all. The word death in the Bible always means separation. Just like in James 2, 26, the body without the spirit is dead. That’s a separation of your soul from your body. And your soul, though, is still very much alive. And you’re absent from the body, present with the Lord at death,. But in order to be able to display your faith, you need your body, or rather if you display your life of the life of your soul.

You need your body in the same way. You need works to display your faith. And this is the way that you earn rewards. This is the way you impact others. This is what every believer ought to be doing. I hope you can make that distinction. Very clearly, Romans 4 talks about how we’re justified before God by faith without works. In James it tells us about how we are justified before men and we are justified before men by our works because they cannot see our faith apart from works.

And the illustrations are great. Abraham was saved and then 40 years later James picks out an incident in his life when he offers up his son Isaac and says that he was justified by faith when he offered up Isaac. When he was saved, when he was justified before God, he hadn’t even had a son. Here we have an incident 40 years later when Abraham shows and demonstrates how much he had faith in God by his willingness to kill the son he waited a lifetime for, his only begotten son, a picture of God giving Christ the dawn across of Calvary.

And then James 2 23 teaches salvation by faith alone without works as it goes back to the incident when Abraham was saved and it says the scripture was fulfilled, which say if Abraham believed God and it was Canada to him for righteousness. Abraham was saved by faith and by faith alone. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bible and we’re going to go to the phone lines. It’s Monday. We hope that you’ll call in and give us your question. If not, we’ve got plenty of law, all fair questions.

We’ll try to get to those if we can. So we’re going to go to that number 2800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We have Sophia and Jacksonville, Florida. And again, Sophia, welcome to the Bible and program. Good morning, Dr. Lynch. And how are you this morning? Good. And I’m glad to hear that Jane is feeling a lot better, by the way. If I have a question and I’ll hang up again so I can hear you. I don’t remember exactly where it was. I don’t know if it’s in Mark or some places then.

Anyways, the thing about, I just wanted to ask you, was the thing where it’s talking about the last days where two women will be grinding at the mill, some in the field, one will be taken, one will be left at first there. There’s a lot of different theories on that, and some people, I heard some man saying his idea, they had something to do with the rapture, that the one that’s actually taken is the one that is the bad person, the ones who are left are the good people on Earth to rule with Jesus.

other people think it’s the opposite that you know the good one is taking the bad is left but as it says in the day to know a no up and then we’re the ones who were actually left on the earth and the bad people were the ones that were swept away so could you explain what your view is thank you sir I’ll hang out for the answer. Sophia and Jacksonville, Florida actually is talking not about the rapture but about the second coming and the context demands that it tells us here at Matthew 24 in verse 29 immediately.

This event takes place after the 7 years of tribulation period has ended and this is at the event when Jesus appears at his second coming. He says, then shall appear, verse 30, the sign of the son of man in heaven, then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the son of man coming in power. Well, that’s the second coming. At the Rapture, nobody sees Christ except those that are caught up to meet Him in the air.

Then Jesus tells us, as it was in the days of Noah, so shall also be coming in the Son of Man be. And He talks to you about two being in the field, one taking the other left. Well, at the second coming, Christ is going to destroy all unbelievers. Every unbeliever on the earth will be slain by Christ. And apparently there will be billions apparently killed. If you read in the book of Revelation, Christ will take them and take them into the Middle East, just opposite Jerusalem, to the Valley of Jehoshaphat, and they’ll all be placed there in what is called the winepress of the wrath of God.

And Jesus himself will stomp on the people and crush the blood out of their bodies. In the Bible describes in Revelation 14 a river of human blood that will flow 200 miles long as deep as the horse is bridled. Boy, a pretty ugly scene, isn’t it? By the way, the battle, the human, the republic, the people so often love is often not realized. People don’t realize what is talking about this very event. It says he has lose the faithful lightning of his terrible thrift sword.

He is trampling out the vintage upon the grapes of wrath there. And obviously that him, people singing it, they love it, glory, glory, his truth is marching on. Well, Christ is going to come back. And that’s him about the second coming and about Christ taking care of all the unsaved and destroying them. But the ones that are left behind are left to enter into the thousand-year kingdom that Christ will establish. there will be peace on earth, good will toward men.

So let’s say right now if you’re an unbeliever and you don’t trust Christ and the rapture happens, you’ll be left behind. You’ve then got seven more years to trust the Lord. If you don’t, you’ll be crushed by Christ at his second coming. And the Bible talks about his garments will be stained with blood just like the one who treads in the wine fat of grapes. In the olden days, they would take the grapes and they’d get in with their feet and stomp on them and the juice would flow out and they’d collect the juice.

Christ is going to come back and he’ll tread upon those that are unsaved called the grapes of wrath and he will tread upon them until every drop of blood is crushed out of their bodies and the river will be long, two hundred miles long as deep is a horse’s I once did the math on this, and if you figured that every human being, every adult has six quarts of blood, I computed the volume of six quarts of blood, and I had two dimensions.

I had the length of the river, the height of the river. I didn’t have the width of the river, and I began computing with 1 billion, 2 billion, 3 billion people killed and crushed how wide the river would be. Interesting stuff, but that’s really going to happen. take it literally, that Christ will come back and the Bible speaks about it in the Old Testament and in the New Testament several places and that river will flow. But these in Matthew 24 verse 40 are the laws that are taken.

They’re taken in the same way the flood took the lost in the days of Noah and Noah and his family that were in the ark were saved and they were left behind and so will it be at the end of the tribulation period the ones that are saved or left behind to enter into the millennium. Thank you so much for that call and that was Sophia and Jack’s. Well, we have Duane now in Tampa, Florida. Duane, welcome to Bibleline how you doing?

Not good. I have two questions. One was, um, when do you think Jesus Christ was born in the second one? Okay. Two great questions. Duane, thank you very much. I believe Christ was born definitely not December 25th. That was a pagan celebration of the birthday of Baal. When Constantine, in the 4th century, declared the world to be Christian, that pagan observance continued and they simply changed the names and the baby that they were celebrating the birth of was Jesus and no longer Baal.

Well that is obviously wrong. According to the scriptures, I believe Christ was born in October, probably on the Feast of of Tabernacles and the Feast of Tabernacles. He says in verse 1 in the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God and the Word was God, a reference here to the second member of the Eternal Godhead, Jesus Christ. Verse 14 says, And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us. Well that word dwelt there means to tabernacle.

And perhaps it was a veiled reference to the fact that Christ was born and tabernacle did a human body for 33 years in his first coming and came into this world on the Feast of Tabernacles. We’ll talk more about it as we get into October and we believe that Christ is probably more not cover will show why and show a lot of scriptures that will bear that out. But thank you, Duane, and the second question about how to be saved.

It’s amazing that people struggle with that every day I talk to people and it seems like people don’t get it right. In fact, a lot of people have been in church all their life and have never heard it right. We have a gentleman here in our church that got saved a few years back. He was 76. He had been involved, I mean really involved in numerous churches throughout his lifetime. We’re talking about being a trustee ahead of a leadership board within the church and so on and very active.

And yet he never heard the gospel, never knew how to be saved until he came across Bible on him. Well that is exciting. And a lot of people don’t know. We had a fellow call Saturday and talked to me from Texas. He listens to the Bible every day. He said he took my salvation CD, how permanent is your salvation. That’s been such a great tool to evangelize. He used it with five pastors. These five pastors all believed you could lose your salvation.

He said, guess what? He says, all five now believe you cannot lose your salvation. Not a wonderful thing in the way of a praise report. He said, I don’t give you something to shout about. I’m certainly shouting about it. I think it’s exciting that our ministry is reaching not only lost, unsaved people, but reaching ministers that don’t have it right. And so sometimes you’re sitting in a church and the pastor himself is not saved and doesn’t have a clue.

And in many churches, that’s the case. I was raised in a church like that. I don’t believe my pastor in the church I was raised in when I was 18 when I got saved, had any clue about how to be saved. He never did get it. And when I told him that I was saved, he argued with me and said, you can’t know that. You can’t know you’re saved. He was basing salvation on works. And I had up until I was 18 when I saw what the Bible said.

And then I simply trusted Christ and I became saved. Dwayne, thank you for that call. And I hope that answers the question. It’s just as simple as John 3 16, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten the Son that whosoever believeth or trusteth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life. That is exciting and I am so excited to be able to tell you that that’s the truth. You can actually know and be assured of eternal life from the very moment you trust Christ as Savior.

And for that moment on, you’ll never be lost. You’ll never be cast out. You’re saved forever and that is of course the good news of the gospel message and praise the Lord that that is true. We hope that you will call in if you have a question the number is 1-800-576-3771 and we hope that you will give us an offer question if you can’t stay at wait online for that question to come up and we hope that you are going to of course listen every day this week by the way on the internet we’re there 24-7 you’ll be able to listen every day any time of day whenever you want if you just go to the internet and if you click on the spinning globe you’ll catch our radio programs 24-7 and and you’ll catch our worship services by clicking on the camera, our television programs by

clicking on the TV set. Okay, we have an off-grid question here. Anthony in Chesterville, Virginia says Matthew 1619, keys to the kingdom and bound and loose in heaven and so on. I believe it’s talking there about authority within the body of Christ in the church that the leadership of the church can make spiritual decisions that are binding upon the congregation. If you are, for example, in a church, And you’re in the choir. You’re obligated to sing the song or hymns that the choir director instructs you to sing.

While they’re singing the old rugged cross, if you’re singing some other hymn, like when the roll is called up yonder, you’re out of God’s will. Obviously, you’re causing dissension, division, discord, with all the other people in the choir, and obviously destroying the music program of the church. So you’re obligated to do that. If you don’t like the choices of the leader, then you can appeal to him and tell him that you prefer to sing another hymn because maybe that’s the hymn you sing every week.

But in any case, once you put yourself under a church, you’re obligated to carry the faith things out that they tell you to do unless they’re on the scriptural, of course. If they told you to go out and steal, you wouldn’t be obligated to do that. If they asked you to curse, you’re not obligated to do that and so on and so on. But you are obligated to follow the rules and to follow their instructions. If you read Hebrews chapter 13, it says, obey them and have the rule over you for they which must give an account.

Watch for your souls and it says if you obey then that’s profitable for you But if you don’t it’s unprofitable for you and obviously it causes the leadership grief and hinders the body of Christ Well, we’re gonna have to go to break and I want to thank you so much for tuning in We’ll be back after the short break and do the second half of Bible Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-37.

I’m Dr. Englund’s from it was great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We appreciate you and all of our listeners. I look forward to being with you each and every day. And I hope that you’ll plan on joining us Monday through Friday. And then of course on the weekends, you can listen on the internet if you like and also in the evenings or whatever time of day. Would you tell your friends in other countries that were on the internet?

A lot of missionaries in different countries are listening to my line because you have told them about Bible and that’s right. Would you email them? Would you write them? Would you tell them when you see them next time they’re in the States about Bible and how they can go to the website and catch our programs from anywhere in the world? I sure hope you will. I’m Dr. Ankerman. We’re trying to reach out as far as we can with the resources we have, and the only thing that limits us really is the fact that we don’t have enough funds to be blanketing the whole world.

And that’s really what we’d like to see happen, but it’s in the Lord’s hands. We trust Him to raise up people just like you who like this program and see a vision of what can take place and help us financially to be able to accomplish that. Would you do that? Would you help us? Would you send a gift by mail or would you send one by credit card over the phone? Just call our 800 number and you’ll be able to reach our operators which will help you and you can give a gift by credit card over the phone or you can ask for an envelope to be sent and you can mail a gift in the Bibleline.

Just ask us for an envelope with our address on it. We’ll mail it to you and then you can mail a check back here to Bibleline. We’re excited about being with you each and every day and we thank you, all of you, for tuning in today and we hope that you’ll help us grow our audience by spreading the word. We hope you’ll check out our Resource Center either coming by or looking at it online and we hope that you’ll join us in this goal of trying to reach as many people on the planet Earth before Christ returns.

I can’t believe we’re going to be here a lot longer. I think Christ is coming soon and I believe that hopefully we’ll all be a part of that as we serve right up until the day he snatches us out. And I know that you’re going to be rewarded for your prayers and gifts to Bible. I’m Dr. Ankerine Klimschram. I hope you will join us again for the second half hour Bible. I just were about ready to rejoin the stations that have been on break and do that second half hour.

And so stay tuned right now as we do Bible and Part 2. Okay. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bible. Great to be with you. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast today. We appreciate you and all of our listeners and look forward to being with the program, with your being with our program here every day.

And I hope that you’ll tell your friends and have them join us. This is Monday and we’re looking forward to being with you all this week. I hope if you have questions, you’ll call us. We’ll try to take and answer each one. And of course, you can leave them all fair as well. We’ll try to get to all these questions as quickly as we can. And we have now Bobby in St. Petersburg. Bobby, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air.

Okay. Dr. Lynch, I’m calling this morning. They have a convention, I guess, going over in Tampa this week. I guess the Pentecostal. And I was reading the paper this morning. They don’t believe in God, but they don’t believe in eternity. And is that something, would you know, that was printed incorrectly. You know, I didn’t read the paper yet today, so I don’t know. But obviously, that’s a fatal major doctoral error, if I be the case. So I’d have to take a look at that.

But I would think if they didn’t believe that, they would be outraged at the paper and would ask them to retract that. Usually, that’s a fundamental belief of Christianity. and if you are a Christian group, you certainly ought to come out and not deny the Trinity. So I’ll have to take a look at the paper. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Yeah, I did. And they said they got quite a big following from the young people and that’s disturbing if it is.

Well, absolutely. Well, just try to find out what really was. I’m sure we’ll find out a retraction tomorrow if they bring it to wrong with those people who are going to be outraged. Oh yeah, yeah, okay, well thank you. Well, I’m glad you did. Thank you Bobby, that was Bobby St. Pete, and obviously the paper doesn’t always get it right, but let’s pray those people have that doctrine correct. We’re not gonna go to Paul, down in Bradenton, Florida, and Paul, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Earth.

Yes sir. Okay, I’m gonna turn over there, and what is the question? At the end of the verse there it says, and yielded her fruit for every month and the leaves of the tree for the healing of the nations. What do you think? what are you talking about there where you say? Okay, it’s probably a translation problem. The Greek word translated healing there is a word that means therapeutic. I think it means basically refreshing. I think the leaves will provide for a wonderful refreshing drink that will be just like a medicine, like a soothing, wonderful, relaxing drink.

When you go down to the river of life, we’ll be able to take the fruit of the tree and eat, but also I think we’ll take that water, scoop up some of that water, it’ll be absolutely pure and sparkling and wonderful, and then reach up to the tree of life and pull down some of those leaves and stir them around and there and get the most refreshing drink that we’ve ever experienced in our life. And so I really think that’s what it’s talking about, that we’re going to have not only fruit to eat, but also the most refreshing drink we’ve ever had in our life.

It’ll be therapeutic and just be a wonderful way to get around and fellowship with other believers and hang out by the tree of life and eat and drink. There’s not going to be any diseases. You know, we’ve already read in chapter 21 that there will be no more sickness, no more death, no more pain, no more tears. That will all be passed away. And so there’s no need to heal anybody. And so it won’t be anybody healing. But the Greek word I think is just not translated correctly there and it is therapeutic but I think it means more in the sense that it will be just a refreshing drink.

Thank you very much. You’re welcome. Thank you Paul down in Bradenton, Florida. We don’t have Brad in clear water and Brad. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning Pastor. Good morning. I have a question for you. I listened to you earlier on when the he is listed. I was just wondering on the Easter Jerusalem. Is he going to have their heads chopped off? He’s going to pierce them through the heart. I’ll hang up and listen to your response.

The Bible says none of those things. He will apparently crush them. He’s going to come back and trample them. So no, they will not get their heads off. He’s not going to pierce them through with something. He’s going to stomp on them with his feet. It’s not a pretty picture, but it says here that they’re going to be thrown alive into the winepress of the wrath of Almighty God. You can read about it in Isaiah chapter 63, an amazing prophecy about Jesus given long, long ago.

And here it talks about him coming back and trampling upon the unsaved. Let me just read a portion of this. It says here, and this is a spoken first person prophetically about Jesus, and this is about about twenty-eight hundred years ago, twenty-seven hundred years ago, and it still got a ways to go before it’s fulfilled at the Second Coming of Christ seven years after the Rapture. He says, I’ve prodded the wine press alone and the people, of the people who was none with me, I will tread them in my anger, trample them in my fury, and their blood shall be sprinkled on my garments and I’ll stain on my garment for the day of vengeance is in my heart.

So this is a day when God says I’m going to come back and judge the earth and all the angels will be involved in taking the unsaved and putting them in this valley, the valley of Jausapat. And their Christ will come back and stomp on them and crush their bodies. Not a pretty picture, but the Bible, you know, I used to always think Christ was a Mr. Milk Toast, but he is the same God is the God of the Old Testament and He is the God who is full of mercy and forgiveness to those who trust in Jesus as their Savior, the Messiah who died of pay for sins at the cross.

But He is full of wrath toward those who do not trust Christ and do not have a provision for their sin because they are going to be trusting in their own works and they will not be saved and that is an awful fate for the unsaved person. And then of course that’s even worse, they go on to hell where the Bible says in chapter 14 of Revelation the smoke of their torment arises up forever and ever and they have no rest day and night forever and ever.

We have a caller John in Mississippi and John welcome to Bibleline in Mississippi. Thank you for taking your call. My question is in regards to marriage and divorce. My personal situation was that in my wife, we married, imagine first of all, she became pregnant by another guy and then she fell for divorce with a child by a fellow fellow. And then after, we went that way for a few years, for a lot of years, and then just recently I read married.

And I want to know, I’m fully married or I’ll accept the court of caution. I believe you’d be free because she was the one that broke the Mary’s vows and had a child by another man and then had the divorce take place. And so I think you’re absolutely free to remarry. So the Bible is very clear that if you are the innocent party in an adult’s relationship, you’re free to remarry and certainly you are in that category. Okay, so you said my marriage is legal and right for it before God.

Yes, right, absolutely. Thank you, sir. God bless you. All right, John. John in Mississippi on the road, apparently listening to Bible I’m there and we’re looking forward to hearing from you. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We now have Carmen and she is in Milford. I believe it is and or it can be India. Okay. Carmen, welcome to Bibleline. I’d like to know what are the physical interpretations of a dialyter. Is it, would it apply to having a Christmas tree and the nativity scene at Christmas?

Does this mean that’s a dialyter? I would really like to know the answer to that. Thank you. If you worship that tree, I mean, I don’t worship a tree, and I don’t even use the tree. But obviously the tree is a pagan origin, but otherwise we’d have to destroy everything in our site, because anything that we have can be an idol. I remember a little boy. My grandfather had a rabbit’s foot, and it was like an idol to him.

to him. He would clutch it and hold it and tell me that it would bring good fortune if he had that rabbit foot with him. I never did make a whole sense to me. I didn’t think that was very smart. It just didn’t make sense to me as a little boy. But any of those things can be. The Bible says covetousness is a doubt. If you are covetous of anything, that covetousness, desire to have something that’s not yours, you can worship that thing and want to have it.

And that’s idolatry. So obviously it can do all the law of things, but certainly it involves worship. The fact that you have paintings or works of art or other images, you know, you couldn’t have a photo album if you are going to say that you couldn’t have any images of anything Because then you’d have to you’d be in violation of the commandment to not make any graven images But it’s not talking about that it’s talking about where you Give them some special powers or special significance where you worship them and in churches where they bow to and Pray to icons and pray to saints and Pray to pictures or statues that’s idolatry.

So I don’t believe the other is Otherwise, anything we have. My church is very plain. We don’t have any pictures. We have a simple wooden cross in the front. That’s it, because obviously we don’t want to worship any images. And sometimes although we hold that position, not everybody does who comes in, so they come in from other environments where they have never been to church You might think that there’s some significance to that picture or whatever. So we don’t have them at all.

We just decide to be very plain. But it’s not wrong. And I believe you can tell the story of the gospel through a tree that about it. The Bible says that Christ was crucified on a tree. And so certainly that can be an object lesson. But you don’t worship the tree. Some people that wear a cross around their neck as a piece of jewelry and a way of saying I’m a Christian but they don’t worship it. But yet there are others who will reach up and cling to that cross when they’re in trouble or in danger and they feel like if they hold on to the cross around their neck that that will save them or spare them or keep them and that’s that’s a dolgic.

That’s wrong. So that’s where it crosses over the line. I hope that helps. I thank you for your call. Carmen in Milford, Indiana. That’s a little bit north here for us in Florida today. Dwayne in Tampa, Florida calls in, leaves this off for a question. He says, our tongues for today. The answer is, no. The gift of tongues was a temporary gift. It has ceased and it ceased at the end of the first century. What is being done today that is claimed by many to be tongues is a gibberish.

And this gibberish is the none of God and it’s done by all the world religions. It’s done even by cult. The Mormons do the gibberish. The people in Islam do the gibberish. Buddhists do the gibberish. The medium in a satanic seance breaks into this gibberish. The gibberish is worldwide. I was on a flight to Dallas, Texas, and I happened to be reading a National Geographic the current issue at that time a couple years back. And it was a very interesting article that from Chile down in South America all the way up to Alaska following the mountain ranges from the Andes Mountains all the way up through the Rocky Mountains and all the way up to Alaska, that there was this amazing common thread of religious practices including this gibberish.

I found it so fascinating that it’s everywhere. And does God give it to him? No, this gibberish isn’t coming from God. It’s coming from the dark side. I believe it’s really coming from Satan. And sometimes it’s just people being influenced by fellow church members who are encouraging him to do the gibberish, which is not a divine language from God. But in other cases, it’s actually demonic. I have in my collection here, audio tapes of people that have been demon-possessed.

And when the demons are confronted in the name of Jesus Christ, the person speaks out in a different voice. And that other voice is amazing and unique. And sometimes it matches up exactly what the Bible describes to be the gibberish. gibberish. In Isaiah 819 it talks about people that mutter and the peep and that’s an interesting description of what is being done today in the charismatic movement. The muttering is a low, slower speaking of gibberish and the other one is like a chirping of a bird.

It’s very high or pitched and quick moving like a chirping of the bird and that is definitely in that case a demonic tongue and I believe that some of the tongues movement is absolutely demon speaking out of the person but I believe the whole movement is false and the tongues are not for today. First Corinthians 13 8 through ten tells us they would cease when the New Testament record was complete and we believe that is exactly what happened. If you read Church history that seems to be born out because nobody apparently spoke in tongues during the second and third century nor do you find it all the way up until the reformation.

During the reformation nobody spoke in tongues. The modern gibberish movement began on the Zuzah street in California in in 1906, they just celebrated a hundredth year and it just doesn’t work. Pat Robertson’s group sent their top correspondent from Washington, D.C., and one of their top cameramen from their headquarters there in Virginia down here to interview me about the tongues movement and I have planned out short succinct statements about the movement from the Bible that couldn’t be edited or manipulated.

And you know, they told me that they decided not to run it because it would have been too disruptive to their celebration of the hundredth anniversary of the gibberish movement. They didn’t call it gibberish. They called the tons movement, but I called it gibberish and apparently my Statements backed by scripture were so powerful. They did not want to run it on any of their shows It’s been a lot of money to send these people down here and put them up in a hotel and fly back up there in Virginia, but the Pet Roberts movementBuyable not to run those comments by me on their celebration.

And it’s just right from scripture. The scripture says in the last days that false teachers would do the signs and wonders, not genuine believers. And I think that’s what we see happening today. We have here Randy and he’s asking a question. What about tithing today according to Malachi 3? Well Malachi’s Old Testament and obviously tithing is under the Old Testament law given from Mount Sinai. And we’re not under the law. Romans chapter 6 clearly tells us we’re not under the law but we’re under grace as a Christian.

And that doesn’t mean that we’re exempted from giving but we are not giving from an obligation to keep the law. We’re giving hopefully from the heart. And somebody once said, should we give less under grace than we gave under the law. And so we still ought to give, and we ought to give generously to the Lord, a proportion of what He has proffered us with, but definitely everybody was obligated to give, but not according to the Old Testament law of tithing.

So Malachi was talking about bringing the treasures into the storehouse, and that was talking about the Israeli government. That tithe was a means of supporting the government of Israel and so it was like your income tax. And certainly we’re not under that and the Old Testament tithe had to do with a national tax collection in a sense to run Israel. Hope that helps a little bit Randy and Tampa and appreciate that call. We have Off-Air Larry in Palm Harbor with an Off-Air question.

He’s asking about Matthew 12. He is saying, what about verse 31 and 32? So I’m turning there right now. Let me see what it says. It says here about the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Verse 32, wherefore I say unto you, Christ is speaking, all manner of sin in blasphemy is forgiven unto men. But the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is or shall not be forgiven unto men. Whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of Man, it should be forgiven him, but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Well, this is the sin, really, of unbelief. If you read the context in the different gospels of this story, you’ll find that Christ had healed a man that was blind and dumb, so that he both spake and he saw. The religious leaders could not deny that the miracle had taken place. So what they did was because they believed that Christ was an imposter. They said Christ heals, but he does it by the prince of the demons, the Azelbone. And that was to attribute the works that Christ did through the power of the Holy Spirit, Satan and it was to say that Christ was not the Messiah, not the Savior, but He was a counterfeit, a fraud, a charlatan, a deceiver.

If you read in connection with this, Larry in Paul Marlach, Mark’s Gospel chapter 3 verse 30, it says they were in danger of eternal damnation because they said, because they said, Mark 3.30, Mark it down, Mark 3.30 says because they said, He Christ hath an unclean spirit. So it really was a rejection of Christ. They said Christ was not the Savior. He healed by Satan’s power, not by the power of the Holy Spirit, and that is the rejection of Christ.

It’s the same as unbelief. He, the belief if not Jesus said, is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only be gotten sent again. So clearly unbelief is the unpargable sin and Larry I hope that answers your question. The blasphemy is not to swear in the name of the Holy Spirit or say something negative against the Holy Spirit. It is simply to reject Christ. If you read the context in every place that’s what’s going on.

Thank you for that question. We have Tom And Luke is Florida calling in and he says, off air do the seven years of tribulation and anything to do with God’s judging Israel from the 490 years of judgment put upon Israel at the rebuilding of Israel and Ezra’s time. And it is a prophecy that was an expansion of what was going on there. had them because they were disobedient for 490 years. They had this 1070 in captivity. So that 70 years of captivity became a vision that Daniel saw in Daniel chapter 9 of 70 times seven years.

That would give us the two comings of Christ. Jesus came at the end of 69 weeks of years of 483 years after the giving of the commandmentary Bill Jerusalem and there’s seven years still left to be fulfilled, that clock will start ticking again when the rapture happens and then the tribulation period will be underway. Frank in St. Petersburg, is it true that other countries are sending missionaries to the USA? being invaded by all the cults and isms and spasms of the world.

You better believe Islam is recruiting in this country right now. It’s a shame that we as Christians have come to that point where we’re so ineffective in leading people to Christ that the devil is sending his missionaries here to afflict us with these terrible false belief systems that are out there in the world today. But I truly believe that we are experiencing that as we speak. Alright, thank you for that question. And now we have, do we have, we have Sophia back again.

Sophia, welcome back to my boy. Dr. Lish, I just wanted to ask you something. What does the Bible mean when you’re talking about the tongue thing? What does it mean where it says the sign shall follow those that believe they shall lay hands on the sick and they will recover and then they will prophesy and then they will also speak in tongues. So the question is who were they? Those that believe, I would assume that those that believe from the time that was written until the end of the world would be all of us who believe.

So I’ll hang up and listen to your answer. Well, the answer is those in that early generation there did have those gifts, but they were temporary in nature. They did really speak in a foreign language without training. They were able to heal. In fact, they were able to raise the dead, which we don’t have people doing today. So they were temporary in nature. So by the end of the first century, when a New Testament was completed, these gifts that It confirmed the word.

If you read that passage in Mark 16 and read right down the verse 20, it says, they went everywhere preaching the gospel and they had these signs that confirmed the word that they spoke, that they really were speaking from God. Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed today. I hope you’ll tune us in again tomorrow. And Lord willing, we’ll be back again tomorrow. And you can join us on the station where you listen to the Bible.
