We’re going to get into our Bible right right now and then we’re going to come back and answer questions. You can call us at 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We’ve been talking a little bit about predestination.

One of the verses that is often brought up is in the book of Romans. And it says in Romans chapter 9 in in verse 11 for the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth. It was said unto her, the elder shall serve the younger as it is written in Jacob have I loved, but he saw have I hated.

That passage seems to strike a chord with a lot of people and they try to make it out that this is a verse that would support their position, that God selects who is going to be saved and who is going to be lost and that is certainly not true. If you read the passage here carefully in Romans 9 and verse 11, it tells us here about the line through which the Messiah would come. We know that it tells us earlier that Jesus Christ concerning the flesh has come through the Jewish people.

And that Abraham was the beginning of that nation. And then it says that they would come not only through Abraham but then through Isaac. And then of course through Jacob, his name was changed to Israel. And those are the ones of the promised line through which Christ would come. And when we get down to the two children, Rebekah had in her womb, it says here in verse 11 for the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to the election might stand.

Not of works, but of him a call that was said unto her, the elders shall serve the younger. Nothing here about Jacob or Esau’s salvation, but God is simply telling us which one would be the one through whom the Messiah would come. That it would come through Jacob, not Esau. Jacob, we know, had twelve sons and one of his sons, Judah, was. Was the one through whom Jesus Christ would finally come. We also learn here at Sesenverse 13, as it is written, Jacob, I love, but Esau have I hated.

That’s a quote, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years later, from the book of Malachi. And there you see, played out what happened with these two lines as God foresaw the future. The line of Esau was a line that really was not a spiritual line, and you can tell how they rebelled against the Lord constantly. And even the descendants of Esau blocked the way for the children of Israel to come back into the Promised Land when they came back out of Egypt.

So this was a group of people that seemed to oppose the will of God and obviously were a group that God hated it says here because they did not respond to God’s word. But Jacob was more of a spiritual man than Esau was and God chose which one through whom the Messiah would come. And you know you see all of this born out in the chapter later on where it says in verse 30 of chapter 9 of Romans, it says, what shall we say then?

That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness, which is of faith. So here we have Gentiles, which were not of the line of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, which became righteous in God’s sight and it says here it would be by faith. Verse 31 says, but Israel which fallen after the law of righteousness have not attained to the law of righteousness, wherefore or why? Because they sought it not by faith. So it’s clear here that you must believe in order to become saved and that God chose the line of the Messiah but he did not make your choice as far as being saved.

Gentiles, who believed on Christ, became righteous and were saved, whereas there were many Jews who were of the so-called chosen nation, but yet they weren’t saved because they did not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. In the says in verse 32, why? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law, for They stumbled at the stumbling stone. They stumbled over Christ. They missed the fact that he was the Messiah. They were expecting a king to rule and reign as the Bible prophets had said the Messiah would do.

They rejected the prophecies that told how he would come in his first coming and be a suffering Messiah and that he would suffer and die and be buried and come back again from the dead. The Bible is very clear to tell us that the whole gospel story is given throughout the Old Testament. The first promise is back there in Genesis 3.15 where it talks about the seed of the woman, that being the Messiah and the seed of Satan which would be the Antichrist.

You have the two comings of Christ all pictured in that wonderful verse where it says there that Satan through the seed of the Antichrist and through Judas would bruise the heel of Christ. But at the second coming Christ would bruise the head of Satan as he defeats the Antichrist and of course Satan has taken him bound for the entire thousand year earthly rate of Christ. So we know here that from Genesis in the very earliest verses we have the promise of Jesus coming and how he would come the first time and die.

You know when it says he would bruise the heel of the Messiah, the seat of the woman, that’s a veiled reference to the crucifixion. The only death that we know of where someone’s heel is bruised is crucifixion because when When somebody is crucified, they nail the two feet together at the bottom, and for every breath they have to push up on the heel that is spiked to the cross, and their heel becomes bruised. Archaeological evidence has shown this, and this is, of course, a reference, I believe, to crucifixion, way back there in the very earliest verses of the Bible.

And so there is nothing here about Jacob would be saved and Esau would go to hell. That’s something not even in the passage. It’s simply saying that God shows which child would be the one through whom the Messiah would come before they were ever born, before they ever came out of the womb of Rachel. told Rachel that O’Rothery Becca here. The elder should serve the younger. And that’s all it said. Didn’t say the elder would be saved, but the elder should serve the younger.

Of course the younger was Esau. They weren’t very much apart. They were twins. So how many minutes apart were their birth have been? But the younger was Jacob and Jacob became the one!. Through whom the Messiah would come. The Bible is clear that God doesn’t make the choice for you and for me. But He has a obviously chosen the fact that the Messiah would come and how he would come through the line of Abraham, through Isaac, through Jacob and through Judah, and you can follow that in the genealogies of Christ and also how God through time reminded people how the Messiah would come through them.

David was told that the Messiah would come of his own loins, that he would be at the Senate of David. You know, the two genealogies that we have in the Bible, one in Matthew and Luke show that Joseph and Mary were both related back to King David. What you have in Matthew 1 is the genealogy of Jesus through Joseph’s side, which was the Kingly side. It was from David down through Solomon down to Joseph that was not the father of Christ, EVENT he was the heir to the throne and the heir to the Jewish throne.

was passed on to Jesus through Him. In Luke we have the genealogy of Mary’s side and Mary was related by the King David through David’s other son, Nathan. If you compare those two genealogies you’ll find they split at David and they are different. And one is the genealogy of Mary and the other is the genealogy of Joseph and Joseph and Mary were the only two people on the planet that could have been the parents of the Lord Jesus Christ and we find that they were both related back to David.

If you note here, it tells us earlier in this wonderful chapter 9 of the book of Romans that the Israelites, it says here in verse 5, are the fathers and of whom is as concerning the flesh Christ came. So we find that the Israelites, the Jewish people, are the ones that were the fathers of the flesh that God took upon himself. Jesus Christ is God, he doesn’t have a father or a mother. To say that Mary is the mother of God is really theologically way off because Jesus doesn’t have a mother.

He doesn’t have a father. Jesus is God. But the flesh that God took upon himself did have a mother and was born and actually grew up as a child and became a man and went to the cross of Calvary to be saved. The Bible makes that distinction throughout here, even as it says here in verse 5 of Romans 9, whose the Jewish people are the fathers, as of whom is concerning the flesh. The flesh came. So Christ of the flesh came of the Jewish people.

Jesus Christ was the Jew of the tribe of Judah. At the same time, he is the eternal God who doesn’t have a father or a mother. So Mary was the mother of the flesh that God took upon himself, but Mary is not the mother of God. God does not have a mother. God does not have a father. It’s amazing what has happened through time as Bible teachings have become corrupted. And Mary is elevated almost to the Godhead. And Mary is prayed to.

Mary is worshiped. Mary is claimed that can answer your prayers and deliver your prayers and extra cake, which there is no such place. But obviously this is all totally bad doctrine. We’re told and forbidden in the Bible not to pray to the saints. Mary was a saint, a believer just like everybody else who is a believer, were all saints. And we’re not to pray to the departed saints, that’s forbidden. also not to pray to angels. This is forbidden in the Bible.

There’s only one mediator, 1 Timothy 2 5 says there’s one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. So that one mediator is Jesus and he is the mediator between God and men. There’s not two mediators, there’s three, you’re four. Mary is certainly not a mediator. Only Jesus is. So if you’re going to pray to God, you better pray through Jesus or you’re not going to get there. If you pray through Mary, your prayers aren’t going anywhere.

That’s right. They’re not going to be heard or answered and that’s just a wasted trip. Jesus is the Savior. When you place your faith in Christ, God saves you and you’re saved forever. God does not make your choice. You You have a choice to accept to reject Christ if you accept Him. As your Savior, you’ll be saved to go to heaven. If you don’t, you’ll be lost forever and you’ll go to help. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline.

We’re excited about being with you on this Thursday. And we hope that you’ll catch our TV programs this evening at 6.30. We’re on direct TV nationwide on Channel 321 World Harvest Television, Channel 321. I always remember that by 123 backward. Channel 321. And that’s seven on the Christian television network. here all of the West Coast of Florida and we hope that you’ll be watching tonight. We’re gonna go now to the phone lines. We have George and George is in Palm Harbor and George welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Good morning. Good morning. I got three hopefully quick questions. One, I know you stand on the Catholic religion. Would you consider the Catholic religion a cult and two, I called you the other day and you said that the angels never lived in heaven. So a third of them went up and we’ve cast back down. Where is the third spending their time now in two thirds? And the last and final question is how do demons interact on the earth today?

Okay. Okay. And I will listen off the air. Okay. Very good. The Roman Catholic Church certainly has the marks of a cult because they have an outside source other than the Bible. The Roman Catholic Church has all the decrees and canon laws that they have developed over the years. And even though they contradict the Bible, they hold them in esteem higher than the Bible. They also have a special group called the Magisterium in Rome that is the only group on the planet Earth that can interpret the Bible.

So even if you go to your Roman Catholic priest and ask him to interpret a passage for you, he He can only tell you what the Church says about that passage and what the Magisterium have declared the Bible to say. So you’re in a trap. The same thing is true of all the cults. The Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Watchtower Society in Brooklyn, New York, tell all the Watchtower members that the Jehovah’s Witnesses, what the Scriptures teach. And they have to follow that.

So when you tell them it says something different, they’ll say it doesn’t mean that because the Watchtower Society says it means something else. The 70 Adventists the same way. They read the Bible through the lenses of Ellen and through the books that she’s written, they have obviously a special perspective of the Bible and they don’t believe what the Bible says literally. They believe what Ellen’s wife says about the Bible. The Christian scientists are the same way. They have the writings of Mary Baker Eddie, the key to the scriptures in science and health.

That book is heresy and they read the Bible through that particular book and the teachings of Mary, Baker, Eddie. They don’t believe in death. By the way, they have an 800 number directly to Mary in Boston in the mother church there of the Christian scientists in Boston, Massachusetts. So apparently if you’re a church member and high esteem in the Christians in the church you can call Mary and talk to her. They don’t believe in death. They have some really what-go beliefs and obviously they’re contrary to the Bible.

The Roman Catholic Church also has this outside group, the Magisterium that interpret the Bible. So you’re discouraged reading the Bible. You will not find out what the Bible has to say. You’re taught basically what the church wants you to teach and many of the teachings of the Church contradict the Bible. That’s just a fact. If you talk about a particular doctrine, I know I’ve been to Israel 14 times in Jerusalem. I went to a church where they have supposedly Mary buried.

They have her body there, they say. And that’s fine. Then I’ve been to Ephesus Turkey, and there’s a Roman Catholic Church there, and they have Mary buried there, and they say her body’s in the tomb there at Ephesus Turkey. And then Also, the Roman Catholic Church teaches that Mary never died that she ascended to heaven like Christ. When you confront them, they say, all three are true. Now how do you figure that? How can it be true that Mary is buried in Jerusalem and she is buried in Ephesus?

Her bodies are in those tombs and the fact that she never died and she just simply ascended to heaven. Well Roman Catholicism is like that. You can’t put a finger on what they believe because they believe lots of things that are currently contradictory to one another like the example I just gave and you can’t make heads or tails out of it. And of course everybody just blindly says, well we… We have to follow what the church teaches because it is the one true church, which the pope just recently said.

And of course, that’s not true. The one true church according the Bible is a living organism comprised of believers everywhere in the world that have trusted Jesus as Savior. It’s not a denomination. It’s not an organization. It doesn’t have a headquarters on this planet. The head is Jesus and he’s in heaven and we’re his body. And when we trust Christ, we’re placed into the body of Christ and our head is not in Rome, but it’s in heaven. Jesus is the head of the church.

As far as the angels, two-thirds are still God’s angels and are called the just angels. They are the righteous angels, a third are Satan’s angels and they’re alive and well here on the planet earth. And obviously there’s a spiritual warfare going on all the time between God and Satan and his angels and God’s angels. And eventually Satan of course is going to be defeated and cast into the eternal lake of fire. The demons of course are very real and you don’t want to approach the demonic world.

And the way to do that is go into the occult and that is anything like astrology, horoscopes, mediums, seances, trying to contact the dead and so on and so on and so on. All of these things are forbidden. And when you pray to so-called saints or angels, you’re treading into that territory because that’s forbidden and the reason why is because Satan’s angels, the demons will impersonate the dead. I have an offer question from Conroe, Texas. Claire calls in and leaves this question, do you know why some people give thanks to or say thank you to Michael the Archangel?

The reason why? And she said I heard this on Oprah yesterday from a woman whose son was overcoming autism. Well, it’s interesting that these are people who are praying to angels and they’re praying to saints and they’re giving credit for any improvement to the angel that they prayed So this is not unusual, but it’s false and it’s forbidden and it’s the area where Satan works best. And you’re asking yourself for deep trouble when you go into those areas. Thank you, and George, we’re going to now go to D in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

D, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Hey, dude. I have some questions on the second comment. come in. It says this price will come and he’ll return to Mount Zion. Yes it is. Mount Zion and it’ll be over. Mount Zion, he’s going to come to the Mount of Olives. Mount of Olives. His feet will touch on the Mount of Olives. Zachariah 14 verse 4 says his feet will touch down on the mountain and the Mount of Olives will split in half.

Zachariah 14 verse four. Okay, and he’s coming with his angels, would that be the rapture and coming with the angel second coming? The coming with his angels is the second coming of the rapture. He comes by himself. First Thessalonians 4, 16 says the Lord himself, so descend from heaven with the shout. So Jesus comes winning himself. Of course, he brings the souls of those that have died with him and they get their new bodies at that time and then we’re caught up and meet him in the air and get our new bodies on the way up.

But the angels coming with Christ is the second coming. Okay. And will he be seated in the temple ruled and seated in the third temple? Absolutely. Christ will come back and cleanse that temple and establish his rule from there. If you read Ezekiel 43, it describes how Christ and… comes back, touches on the Mount of Olives, heads west, goes through the Eastern Gate, goes into the Third Temple and cleanses it. And he says, this is where I’m going to set the soles of my feet and rule the earth from.

And so he rules the earth from Jerusalem from the Third Temple. Oh, great. And what’s it coming with as angels? This is Second Coming, seven years after the Rapture, Christ comes back, his angels gather up all the unsaved and throw them into the Valley, Jehoshaphat, and Christ will crush them with his feet and all their blood will be stomped out and formed wherever 200 miles long as deep as the horse is bridal. And the saved of course will be invited to enter into the thousand year reign of Christ, and angels are very busy assisting in all of that.

Okay, but thank you very much. So welcome and thank you for calling in from Mechanicsville. We have Sophia and Jacksonville and Sophia. Welcome to Bibleline. Good morning Dr. Lindstrom. I just wanted to ask you, you know, when we die, I wonder if the Bible says that, you know, we were talking Jesus. Naturally he is God, but in the flesh he was the Son of God and then the deity, he’s also the Holy Spirit. But when we die, you know, the Bible says he’s sitting at the right hand of the Father.

So I always wondered myself, what are we going to look at when we see him? We’re going to see him. we see him we’re gonna be I feel like sometimes we’ll see two people there like the father be one he’ll be like a spiritual you know like we see him God as the spirit and then we’ll actually see the human flesh body that he took as Jesus and I just wonder like are we gonna see but to I mean he’s one dog and I’ve always been confused like we’re gonna see to to to there just one and then I’ll hang up and let you answer me so I can listen to you better thank you all right thank you Sophia you’re getting to be a regular there in Jacksonville anyway I I think we’re only going to see Jesus.

God is a spirit. You cannot see a spirit. Touch a spirit, feel a spirit, and so on. But God manifested himself in a human body. And I think we’re going to see those nails, scarred hands, and his nail pierced feet, and the wound inside, and recognize Jesus. And he will retain that body for all eternity. So we’ll see the man Christ Jesus, who is, of course, God. Thank you, Sophia. And thank you for calling in. We now have Duane in Tampa, Florida.

But if you’d like to be a part of that baptism, we’ll be happy to accommodate you. Call us and get on the list and we hope that you’ll be a part of that also We had several calling yesterday about the trip to Israel in April of 2008 if you’d like to get on that prospect list that you might be interested in going will keep you informed and That’ll be a marmos trip.

It’ll be trip number 15 for me We had such a wonderful trip this past March and while it was great It was really a wonderful trip. We didn’t experience any problems at all. And so we thank you, thank you, thank you for exactly, you know, for giving us a wonderful trip. And we had great hotels, great meals. We did our radio programs, many of them, most of them, from Israel. We also did some taping for our television programs. We just had a wonderful time.

And got to see the places where the Bible events took place. Who went down to the creek? We’re David picked up his five stones to go against Goliath and each of us selected a stone to take home to remember that amazing story in the Bible. And so many stories. We could just talk and talk and talk about our adventures in Israel, but we’d like to have you go with us. I’ll be teaching the Bible every spot where we go.

I’ll open my Bible and we’ll talk about what happened there. I think you’ll enjoy just an all day long Bible study on the spot right where it happens. So that’s going to be fun. And we’ll have a lot of time to fellowship. It’ll be a super, super trip. We’ll just see what the Lord has in store. That’ll be coming up in April of 2008. Give us a call. Let us know you’re interested in being on the list. We’re going to go to our phone lines.

We have Dwayne who’s been patiently waiting. He’s in Tampa, Florida. And Dwayne, welcome to Bibleline. And you’re on the air. Good morning, darling. Good morning. I have… I wanted you to explain the scripture to me Matthew 540. Alright I’m headed there now Matthew. Matthew chapter 5 and verse 40. Here we go. I’m in Luke, headed to Mark, and here I am. Matthew, and this is Matthew now chapter 5 verse 40. I don’t know what happened to Dwayne, but you can maybe check on Luke.

Maybe check on Dwayne there while we go here to Matthew chapter 5 verse 40. Okay, I’m almost there. And see if Dwayne is still on the line. Matthew chapter 5 verse 40 says, If any man will sue thee at the law and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. You know the Bible talks about conflicts with other people and here it talks about I think particularly the Kingdom living when the Lord is going to make everything right and you don’t really have to worry about those things.

But in any case certainly our attitude toward the loss and toward others should be as it says in verse 44, I say unto you. Love your enemies. It says in verse 43, you have heard that have been said, thou shalt love thy neighbor, but hate your enemy. Well the Bible says your Christ says, I say, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, and do good to them that hate you, and pray for them despitefully use you and persecute you.

Well that is tough, but the whole purpose here is that we might be able to really be a witness for Christ and win people to Jesus. It says in verse 45 that you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven. And so he’s talking here about that people may see that you are a child of God and that you are a witness for him. And so if we’re going to try to take revenge, we are violating scripture.

If we are trying to do that, we need to simply abide by the law and trust God that he will make everything right and he’ll take care of us we have an anonymous call from uh… texas in uh… anonymous in texas welcome to eyeball and you’re on the air hello anonymous i don’t know if we lost the numbers are you there i think i’ve got the wrong number here how about this one are anonymous in texas welcome to buy wine uh…

yes hello who says this is frank i frank well i didn’t know i was getting frank but glad to have you on the line what can we do for The book of Genesis, who’s the author and what is the evidence? And is there any controversy about that? No. no there is a moses is the author of the human writer of uh… got the author of the bible we believe that genesis access of it against numbers and it around me those five books were all given to us by moses and you’ll see quotes in the new testament where uh…

it says that haven’t you read that was written by Moses and Moses is the one that is the human writer. So, hopefully that answers your question. You’ll notice in John chapter 5, if you have your Bible open, let me just point this out to you, in John’s Gospel chapter 5, Jesus said here in verse 45, do not think that I keys you to the Father, there is one that accuses you even Moses and whom you trust. And had you believed Moses, you would have believed me, for he wrote of me.

So here it talks about the writings of Moses way back here in the Gospel of John and how that Moses wrote about Christ and all those gospels. All right, we don’t have that call anymore. We now have, I think, anonymous from Texas Anonymous. REPLDallasWikipedia I have a question as a battalion to pin the old octa-dops in a causal way of thinking and correct me if I’m wrong But I think the way they think is that as a battalion to their Trinity that the There is a denial that there are three separate eternal persons, but the Bible clearly tells us there are three separate eternal persons.

I think you see that in the baptism of Christ. You have the voice out of heaven saying this is my beloved son who might well please. You have the Holy Spirit coming down like a dove and lighting on Christ. And of course we have Christ there. So you have the eternal spirit and in Hebrews it calls the Holy Spirit the eternal spirit of God. And you have of course Jesus there, the second member of the eternal God, him and God the Father.

So there are separate three persons that have done about it. All three work together in concert and in harmony to accomplish the goals of the God the Father who is the initiator. But they all, they’re all three persons but you have one God. Right. Now I don’t know that it does. You know, I think a lot of people don’t even really know what they believe and they just Somebody at the top probably told him this but if unless they denied the fact that Jesus Christ is God who took on flesh the eternal son of God The first John from chapter 2 verse 23 says, whose over did I have the son the same half not the father.

So you need to be careful that you don’t deny who Christ is because he has got to the first John chapter 4 verse 1. through four gives us one of the tests of a false teacher is one who denies that Jesus is God who came in the flesh. So that’s a good question to ask and if they deny that then obviously then they don’t have the Father.

It says there that it would cease when that was perfect to come and that was the New Testament. We’re talking about the end of the first century. It all ceased right then. So there has not been the real gift of tongues since the end of the first century. In 1896, the book of Revelation was the final book that finished the New Testament.

that out, but certainly we know…] in the case of one fellow in the book of Acts who thought he was a God,laim the Holy Spirit struck him dead. So I think God can do a lot of things. But a lot of what you see in the way of visible things iscially done by God and it’s all done by Satan’s Spirit. Satan can definitely impact people. And the Bible tells us people that are unsaved are children that are controlled by the devil, to manipulate the unsaved people.

We don’t offer a question from Powhatan, Virginia. Revelation 1, 20, Job 38, 7, and so on. My preacher says that these verses describe angels as stars. Lucifer taking one third of the stars with him. What are your comments on this matter? In Job 387, I think it’s talking about stars. It’s not talking about angels at all. In Isaiah 14, 13, it’s not talking about stars as being angels, but that Satan was going to go beyond the planetary heavens and beyond the stars to invade heaven itself.

So it is not talking about that. In Revelation 1-20 it is talking about the pastors of the seven churches which are in Asia Minor. It uses the word angel, but the word angel means messenger and the messenger, the pastor, the elder, the teacher, reaches the seven churches are the ones that are there in the right hand of Christ as He is the one that directs the pastors as to what they should be preaching, what they should be doing, and so it’s not talking about angels in any of those.

So J.T., I’m sorry, but I think your preacher is wrong in all three counts. Saul in Bradenton, Florida, calls in. He says, explain Matthew 19, 16 through 19. Let me go ahead and take a look at that. Matthew 19, 16 through 19. Okay, here we go. Jesus here is being addressed by a young rich ruler, and he says in verse 16, good master, what good thing shall I do, but I may have eternal life. He’s clearly lost. He’s thinking that he can do something to gain eternal life, which is false.

We know salvation is not by works, it’s the gift of God. But he makes a couple mistakes here and Christ chooses all this to try to correct the young man and lead him to Christ. He says in verse 17, why did you call me good? There is none good but one and that is God. So here, if he was quick to catch on here, if Jesus was good and he was, then he was God. But there’s nobody else good on the whole earth.

Romans 3 12 says there’s none to do with good, no not one. Psalms 14 says that there is none that do with good on the earth, no not one. So the only one who is good is God. So in order to recognize who Christ is, which is obviously important because as we said a moment ago, if you deny the Son, then you don’t have the Father, 1 John 2 23. The Jehovah’s Witnesses need to listen to that because They deny the son, therefore they don’t have the father.

So Jehovah’s Witnesses are Jehovahless. They don’t have Jehovah. And they are obviously deceived and misled. But then he takes the 10 commandments and he says here if you will enter into life, keep the commandments. Well, nobody has ever kept the commandments. Jesus said in John 719, did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you have kept the law? Nobody has ever kept the law. I don’t care who you are talking to, nobody has kept the 10 commandments.

We’ve all broken them. A simple one is Thou shalt not bear false witness. Who listening right now has never told a lie sometime in their life? Everybody has. And if you say you haven’t, then I’m going to call you a liar because everybody has told a lie at some time or another. So we’ve broken the commandments. And so this man then wanting to justify himself, well which commandment are you talking about? Christ rattles off several here. Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not bear false witness. Here’s the one I just mentioned. Honor thy father and thy mother, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, and this young man said all these things that I kept for my youth up what lack I yet. Well this guy was self-deceived because he said he’d kept all those things. That’s not true. For example, honor thy father and thy mother. What child has done that? Show me a child that in every instant throughout their life is always honored or fond of their And again, you’re going to have Jesus being the only one that ever did that.

Every child will say no and rebel and speak disrespect to their parent at some point. And if you’re a parent, you’ve already experienced it probably from the time they almost are moving out of diapers. Children have an evil nature. They’re born with that nature from Adam. They need to be saved. And no one of themselves has ever been able to keep any of these commandments. They’ve all been broken. So then Christ goes on, of course, to point out that He was the answer.

Down in verse 2080 says, those of you that have followed me in the regeneration, the new birth, the end of verse 29 says you’ll inherit the eternal life. So eternal life is inherited by being born again through trusting Christ of Savior. I hope that answers the question for you. Thank you for your call. We now have David in Tampa, Florida, and David, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello, Doc. I’m part of my testimony with you. It seems to be a man that has studied a lot, and I’m just here to tell you that as concerning the gifts and the speaking and tongues, share with your listeners.

17 years ago, the Lord filled man certain things in my life. 15 years ago, the Lord used that to even know what’s bad for me. We used that for my good to lead me to a one that’s been a gospel church where I did speak in tongues and with baptized in Jesus’ name and a one that’s been a gospel church. Also when he filled me with his spirit, someone to put everything that hung in my heart back then that I read prophets and the Psalms at that time in about 10 days.

There was a great hunger that the Lord filled and I did speak in tongues. Today emotional, some physical, some things that the Lord has shown me in other people that i had to deal with over seventeen years many many things kept me alive that’s all i want to hear about your cut your your listeners know thank you okay uh… not too sure if you said he still speaks in terms of that but there’s nobody today that speaks in terms not one soul of the plan everybody that’s claiming to speak in terms of really claiming to speak in gibberish and uh…

the uh… the real gift is uh… that of a known language when you read the book of acts It uses the Greek word dialectos. That means a specific dialect of a specific language. You know, in English, there’s many different dialects. All you have to do is go to Boston, and they speak a different brand of English than we do down here in Florida. If you go to New York, they speak a different brand of English on Long Island and Manhattan and Brooklyn and so on.

You could tell those folks by their dialect. You can go to Tennessee. they have a different dialect. The people in Texas have a different dialect. The people in Mississippi. You go to England and oh my goodness, that supposed to be in the mother tongue. Those folks are hard to understand sometimes, but they’re speaking of course, supposedly English. And so these are different dialects. And the real gift was not only a foreign language, but a specific dialect of that language.

And it was to be understood. Let me give you one verse. First Corinthians 14 and 9. It says the word, before you leave. It says about tongues, except he speak by the tongue. Words easy to be understood. How shall it be known when it is spoken? You speak into the air. So it is clear that tongues were meant to communicate. And if you are gifted with a gift of tongues, you should be speaking to the people of that dialect in that language group and leading them to Christ.

And if you are not, then you are misusing the real gift if you have it. But it’s doubtful today because I believe the real gift is ceased nobody today is able to speak in a known foreign language dialect without training and so even the charismatic and those who claim that they have the gift send their missionaries to language school Why if they really have the gift go directly to the mission field and start talking? Okay, now we have Adam in Tampa, Florida Adam.

Welcome to boom by blown Yes, I thank, I have just a comment and I’d like to get your comment. I’ve been listening to you for quite a while and I really respect your teaching and I’ve test everything that you say, just like the brilliant and I pray through it. And I believe that a lot of what you say and I don’t because I understand that you’re a teacher. I believe that God’s put on my heart to teach and I teach what I teach from the scripture I believe that that is truly Satan because even people among my own congregation stand completely against me on different things with tongues and all these things.

I wonder is it because of the last times that we’re in that there’s so much opposition even among believers with her separation and all these denominations and that just kills me and I’ll hang up and listen to your comments. Well yeah, I think so. The word of God is powerful and sharpened it into its sword. A lot of people today just don’t want to, they don’t really care to know the truth and they don’t want anybody to ruffle the feathers or stir the water.

I had a fellow come by yesterday and he said that his church was presenting a false plan of salvation and he went to the pastor and the pastor said, it doesn’t really matter. As long as you sprinkle a little Jesus into the message, people will get saved. Obviously this pastor doesn’t understand that if you don’t have Christ alone as your Savior, You will not be saved and to add anything to what Christ did as a mixture. In the planet of salvation, it violates God’s word and makes the planet of salvation void.

So a person who is adding work will not be saved. It says in Galatians 5 and 4, Christ has become of no effect unto you, whosesoever of you are justified by works. So if you attempt to be saved by works, Christ will count nothing for you. And that means you’ll go to hell. So you have to say, I’m cutting ties with every thing I might be trusting in other than Christ. It’s just my example. I give you where to step off a dock on a small boat.

Are you trusting the boat to hold your weight if you only put one foot on the boat? The answer is no. If you still have a foot on the dock and a foot on the boat, you’re not trusting the boat, you’re trusting the dock. What if you put both feet on the boat and you still have two hands on the dock? Are you trusting the boat to support your weight? The answer is no. In the same way with Christ, if you have one foot on Christ and you’re still putting your foot on baptism, confirmation, church membership, mass, tenants and all the other things you might trust in, you’re not saved.

It’s when you totally cut all ropes and ties to the dock and fully trust the boat to hold you that you’ve trusted the boat in the same way about being saved, you have to cut all other ties and ropes and just trust Christ alone to save you. And God’s wonderful example is the nine thief. He said that nine thief, today thou shalt be with me in paradise. And the nine thief could do nothing but simply trust Christ. Okay, we have no can in The cater Illinois and let’s go to Ken and welcome to Bibleline.

You’re on the air. Yeah, I think I’m gonna hang up because he’s not gonna have time. I’m talking to you right now. Are you there? Yeah. Oh, the reason I this business on tongues. I know a lot of Pentecostal people. I got up into that moving back in the late 70s and 80s. Thank God I got out of it. But are people I mean they have all the their salvation seems to be absolutely sure and secure. They believe and they love the Lord Jesus Christ.

They trust him But yet they speak in tongues and do all these goofy things that doesn’t mean that they’re lost I mean can they still do that and still be saved and just be wrong Or they well they could but the problem is that everyone that I interview most all of them Believe you can lose your salvation, which means that they’re really working to get it and keep it so that’s a major flaw The focus is not the issue, you’re right.

But the real issue is salvation. and most everyone that does tongues will tell me, I ask them, can you lose your salvation? They’ll say, you bet. They just don’t even blink. So I think that they are lost and I think that they are without Christ. We’re out of time. We’re having to come up on the end of the program here and we hope that you have enjoyed Bible Eye today.
