Alright we’re going to begin in the book of Genesis today and we’ll look at Genesis 1-1 that says, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The Bible doesn’t assign a date there. I talked to one fellow a number of years ago. He said, I can’t believe the Bible because it teaches that the earth was created 6,000 years ago. I said, where does it say that? Well, it took you back to Genesis and I had him read verse 1, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
There is no date assigned. And the beginning here is when God created the universe. That’s when space and time came into existence. It’s interesting that the Bible is implying here that God had already existed. And now all of a sudden he creates four dimensions that you and I are bound to buy space and time that the beginning was when the universe exploded into existence. That’s probably a long time ago. As we look at other passages, the original earth was created perfect and inhabited.
In Isaiah 45, 18, the word of created is used sparingly, but it’s a, there talks about the Lord creating the heavens and the earth, and there it says he created it not in vain, he He created it inhabited and says he created it not vain. The word vain there in Isaiah 45-18 is the same word in the Hebrew that’s translated void in Genesis 1-2. So we find that God did not create the earth void as you find it in Genesis 1-2.
That was the result of a judgment. What kind of a judgment would it be? You know that Lucifer… He lived here on the earth with all of God’s angels. You know, the angels never lived in heaven. That is a misteaching that we often get. All of the angels lived here on the earth. And they lived here under the rule of Lucifer, who was the God of this world. If you read Isaiah chapter 14, you have the seven eye wills of Satan as Satan plots his overthrow of God.
And of course, God knows exactly what he’s thinking. And so here’s what God detects in the mind of Lucifer. Verse 13 of Isaiah 14 says, Bow has said in nine heart, I will ascend into heaven. Well if he was already living in heaven, why would he say he was going to ascend into heaven? He obviously was not in heaven when he won an overthrow God. Then he says, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. So apparently he was below the planetary heavens, the visible heavens that we look at and see as we look up at night into the sky.
So he was on the earth. It thirdly says I will sit also upon the Mount of the congregation in the sides of the north. Remarkable reference here to the north, where apparently that’s where heaven is in our universe. Did you know that there is a void in the north and our universe where there are no stars? That’s right. And they say it’s large enough to contain 2,000 Milky Way’s. No Hershey bars. I’m teasing. The Milky Way galaxy is 100,000 light years across.
And that means light traveling at 186,000 miles per second. take about a hundred thousand years to get one from one end of the Milky Way to the other. And according to what scientists are telling us, this void in the north is large enough to hold two thousand Milky Ways, quite large, quite significant. And you know the Bible talks about this empty place. In Job, chapter 26 verse 7, 3500 years ago, the Bible says it got stretches out the north over the empty place.
How did that get in the Bible? They knew nothing about it till after the telescope was invented. This was first discovered by the telescope at Mount Palomar in California and they discovered with that 200 inch telescope that the void is in the north and the Bible talks about it throughout the Bible. In fact, that’s where heaven apparently is. In Leviticus 1, 11, and 12, it tells us in the Old Testament when they offered the sacrifices, They offered them northward before the Lord.
Isn’t it interesting? The implication is that God is in the north and they offered the sacrifices northward before the Lord. Wow. Did you know that Calvary, and I’ve been to Israel 14 times, Mount Calvary is the northern most, highest most part of the Moriah mountain, the mountain of sacrifice, the place where Abraham took Isaac his son and Jesus was offered northward before the Lord on the hill of Calvary, the northern most highest most part of the Moriah mountain of sacrifice where God chose to have Abraham offer up his son Isaac and also where later the temple, the two temples that have stood on that mount, the mount of sacrifice and that’s where Jesus was sacrificed northward before the Lord.
Also it says here in Isaiah 14 and verse 5, I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. So apparently Lucifer was on the surface of the earth beneath the clouds and was going to ascend beyond the clouds, beyond the visible universe, the stars, and actually go into the north and sit upon God’s throne in the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north. Incredible stuff here, but that’s what’s going on here in Genesis chapter 1. And apparently that rebellion took place and it says in verse 2 the earth it should read I believe became without form and void.
The verb here is really determined the interpretation is determined by the context here the translator said was but in most instances was is translated became the same is true in the case of Lot’s wife. When she turned back after being told to leave Sodom with a lot of her husband and her two daughters, she turned back and the Bible says, correct. He was not a pillar of salt. She was not a pillar of salt. She became a pillar of salt.
She was caught in the destruction of the Sodom Valley and Sodom and Yomorrah. It is interesting. It should read that way here. It says the earth should read, became without form and void. We just read in Isaiah 45, 18 that God did not create it void. He brought about that as a destruction later. And then darkness was upon the face of the deep. So the earth was totally flooded. It was in total darkness. And apparently all life on the planet earth was destroyed.
I believe it was plant and animal life on the original earth. You know, right now Russia is racing around the North Pole with three frigates planting flags in the ice, claiming rights to all this because there’s a tremendous oil reserve underneath the polar cap. Amazing, isn’t it? Now guess what that oil is? It’s fossilized animal life. Why is it caught and trapped in the surface of the earth, especially at such a place at the North Pole where you wouldn’t think you’d have an abundance of animal life that was killed and trapped under the surface?
The answer is because of a violent judgment that occurred on the face of the earth quite a few years ago. NASA tells us that a huge asteroid struck the planet about 65 million years ago and that this is what caused all the dinosaurs to die. This really is what brought about an extinction of life on the planet. They tell us it struck in the area of the Yukitan Peninsula. You can look at that. There must have been about a 150-mile diameter to this piece of rock that struck the earth.
And with such force that it threw up tons and tons and tons of debris from the earth up into the atmosphere and they say the sun’s light was cut off for millions of years. This caused the ice ages. The earth was totally submerged in water. And the earth became frozen. Scientists tell us that the earth, if it were cut off from the sunlight for as little as 72 hours, the planet would be quick frozen. And here it was cut off for millions of years and apparently remained that way for many, many, many years until about 6,000 years ago.
And it says in the end of verse 2 in Genesis chapter 1, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. If you look up the word moved from the Hebrew in which the Old Testament was written, the word moved means to brood upon, to incubate the same word as used of a hen sitting on a nest keeping the eggs warm and hatching them out. Well, apparently the Holy Spirit followed the earth out from the ice ages and prepared the earth for life again.
And the seven days were a recreative week where God all of a sudden now decides to put man on the planet. It’s interesting that this explains why Satan was there and was so motivated because Adam needed sin in the garden because he was the root of this world who had been judged and now Adam was placed over the earth and he wanted Adam to come under his under God’s curse and he certainly was very successful. You know, this is what the Bible is teaching here and you’ll find that when that destruction occurred up until that point there was no man on the planet.
The believers, the prophets in the Bible, some of them were catapulted into the future in saw events that will take place. You know, God is not bound by the four dimensions that were bound by, but operates outside of those. And so I believe that he could actually take John the Apostle into the future. And you’ll notice if you read John carefully, he was told to write down what he saw. He was actually caught up according to chapter 1 into the future day of the Lord, the thousand year day when Christ would rule over the earth for a thousand years and bring peace on earth, He saw the tribulation period.
He saw the judgments of the tribulation period and the millennium and he wrote down what he saw. Well, some of the prophets were also caught backward in time. Ezekiel was. Jeremiah was. And so there apparently is time travel as God operates outside of time and could go back and go forth. And whenever God appears in the Bible, he He always appears in the present tense as he intercepts time. But you know in Jeremiah what an interesting passage in chapter 4 when Jeremiah is caught backward in the time and look at what it says here in Jeremiah chapter 4 in verse 23.
Jeremiah says, I beheld the earth. He’s an eyewitness having been taken by God back through time. It says I beheld the earth and low it was without form and void. Where did we read that before? Genesis 1-2. Oh my goodness, he’s seeing the earth right after it was judged when Satan fell. It says, I beheld the earth and lo, it was without form and void and the heavens, they had no light. Didn’t we read that someplace? Genesis 1-2, the darkness covered the deep.
The whole earth was flooded and it was in darkness and we see the earth without form and void. Jeremiah takes us back on a trip through time to see the earth. Perhaps, if Nancy’s right, 65 million years ago. He says I beheld the mountains and lo they trembled, in all the hills moved lightly. He says I beheld and there was no man. There was no man. Man wasn’t created yet. Man had not yet been on the earth. That took place after this time of being without form and void.
It took place after the earth was flooded and darkness was upon the face of the deep. In your notice it says here that the earth was judged by the Lord. It says all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord and by his fear of anger. When did that occur? That was God who brought about the destruction of the earth that we see in Genesis 1 2 is what it’s telling us here. And obviously the earth is very old.
I believe, and man has been only on the earth for about 6,000 years. The seven days of the re-creative week were exactly that. At the end of these days, God tells Adam to be fruitful and multiply, and he says, re-plunish the earth. He didn’t say, replenish the earth. He said, re-plunish the earth. That implies life destroyed, and then to replenish the earth again with life. Now I wouldn’t make a big deal out of that. I really wouldn’t, except after Noah’s flood, where life had been destroyed, he tells Noah the same command in the Hebrew language be fruitful and multiply and re-plenish the earth.
In Noah’s case, we know there had been life. It had been destroyed. And now Noah was given the command to replenish the earth with the animals that were with him in the ark and his family to multiply the human race. Well that same command on the Hebrew was given to Adam, implying I believe very strongly there had been life. It was now destroyed and now God wanted to put life on the planet again and he now instructs Adam to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth again.
Interesting stuff. I’m Dr. Inchlin from this is Bibleline and we’re going to just end it for there right now. CD’s on this topic and other information you can call and ask if you go on the internet and go to my website by the linebnb.org. Go to Dr. Anastasia articles and you’ll find about four or five articles I’ve written about the earth and how old it is and what took place there in the book of Genesis. We’re going to go to our callers.
We invite you to call at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We have several callers here left questions off here. Paul and Seminole says, what is covenant theology? Basically, it breaks the Bible into two parts, the old covenant, the new covenant. The covenant came from Mount Sinai, the covenant of law, and then the covenant of grace. And it’s really inadequate to explain everything because you just can’t divide time up that way. The Bible very clearly tells us that there were obviously many different ages in the past, or we use the word dispensation.
And as the Scofia Bible does such a good job presenting the case for this, he shows that there are seven dispensations. Some of them quite short. But every one of them, a test of man, every one of them ending in failure where man fails. The first one was the dispensation of innocence. It was that short period of time in the garden where Adam and Eve were given one command. The following was the nut to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and then failed.
He was cast out of the garden and forbidden to go back and that ended the first dispensation. There were seven that move along here, but you can’t take the… think the Bible and just divide it into two parts as the covenant theologians do. They They certainly miss a lot of the explaining of the prophecy. The seventh dispensation is the Millennium. It’s the thousand year reign of Christ. It’s called the dispensation of the fullness of times in Ephesians 1, 10, and 11.
What an amazing description we have there where it actually talks about the heavens ruling over the earth. Daniel had predicted that in Daniel chapter 2 that there would be a day coming when the the heavens would rule over the earth and the earth would be at peace and it’s when Christ comes and all the Old Testament prophets major and minor alike talk about that wonderful final dispensation. So you can’t just take and say at the cross we have now the New Covenant as verses the Old Covenant.
I think it’s very, very inadequate and generally the theology goes all over the place of people that follow the Covenant theology, I believe, in dispensational presentation of the Scriptures. If you have the skill field, it will point that out. We’re going to go now to Armando in St. Petersburg and welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air Armando. Yes, sir. How you doing? Good. It was so good to see you in person the other day. Yeah. I was back to see you too.
I just wanted to make a comment. When you’re sure of your salvation, you know, secure. You’re going to serve them all because you love and not because you’re afraid of losing your salvation. And that makes a big difference. It sure does. I remember when I first became a believer, I went to a church that everything was the same, that you put your, I mean. I mean, they didn’t allow most touch or anything like that. It was really they couldn’t shave their legs or anything like that.
Everybody was like a patient. When you become a believer and you know that your salvation is secure, it’s a freedom that is undescribable. Well, they absolutely right. How wonderful it is. You know, I felt that weight lifted off of me when I got saved. I was 18 and I thought to myself, wow, this is incredible. I’m actually going to be able to go to heaven one day. and it was because it was free and it was paid for and it was through Christ shed blood and I trusted Christ and I knew from that point on because I believe the Bible was true that I had eternal life or God was a liar and I have been proclaiming this ever since because it’s the best news in all the world.
That’s why the word gospel needs good news. It’s definitely good news. You say wonderful thing. Thank you, sir. Thank you Armando for bringing that coming up. Very, very good. We have now anonymous in Texas. Welcome to Bible in Your On The Air. Yes, good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. I hope you can help to clear up from confusion I’m having. I was maybe misunderstood, I hope not. From previous questions, I’ve gotten the impression that certain times or questions as far as commands or principles in the Bible only pertain to the Jews.
the Jewish nation and does not apply to us today. So I did a little confused there because someone said to me, the other day, well the Ten Commandments really don’t apply anymore because of Jesus was the greatest commandment and he just named two. And yet then Paul in the New Testament at times was talking to the slaves and then other times he was talking to those who were not saved. So could you help explain how I can determine what applies at this day and age for whom?
This is what we were just talking about a moment ago about dispensations. The Schofield will help you immensely. For example, if you go back to the dispensation that ended with man’s failure and Noah’s flood, for example, if you were to read there in Genesis about building an ark, you wouldn’t apply that to yourself today. and you wouldn’t call home depot or loads and have them bring out truckloads of lumber and start building a big boat in your driveway. Obviously that is passed and not going to happen again.
Also we know that The laws from Mount Sinai were fulfilled in Christ and put away. And so we’re no longer offering blood sacrifices. If someone suggested to you that you needed to offer up a lamb every year in sacrifice and you proceeded to slay a lamb in your front yard, obviously you’d probably have animal control. And everybody else would love your case and you’d have a grief over it. But those were for that age, but now they’re past. And they were all pictures of what Christ would do at the cross when He would die as the Lamb of God and so on.
And so you really have to separate. And this is called rightly dividing the Word. And in 2 Timothy 2, 15 it’s a study to show thyself approved unto God as a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. That means to set the truth of God’s Word in right order. And by the way, Dr. Stofield has written a booklet called Rightly Dividing and I think it’s still available someplace, but we have it on our website for free.
If you go to the left side of my homepage, it says there are online books and you can read the entire 10 chapters and it has wonderful hints about exactly what you’re asking. How do you decide what is for you and me today and what is not and how do we rightly divide the word and it tells you exactly how to do it. It is marvelous. That was one of the great treats I got when I got myself a school field Bible soon after I was saved and it helped me immensely.
Because that seems to be a convention for everybody anymore. Just from listening to your program and listening to questions that people ask all the time, it just… It really doesn’t mean… It’s like in the Bible it talks about being tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine. Exactly, and this is one of the reasons why. And it doesn’t mean that we are to break the commandments, but we’re not keeping them out of legal obligation. We do it from the heart.
I’ve got to go break if you want to continue on with me, but you’ll have to hold. We’re going to go to break. We’ll come back to do the second half hour Bible. I didn’t thank you for tuning in today, and we’ll be back in just a minute. So don’t go away. I’ll be right back. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. And just call and ask for an envelope to be sent if you like with our address on it, and mail your gift in. We’re excited about going to Israel, and this is coming here. If you’d like to go with me, It will be trip number 15.
We will leave the last week of February and return on Friday the 7th of March. If that works for you, it would be great. We had a marvelous trip in March of this year. The weather was great, the hotels were great, the meals were great, and of course the spiritual diet was unbelievable. Feasting on the word every day as we would stop and open the Bible and teach every day it was exciting. We hope that you can plan to be with me on this next trip, trip number 15 to Israel.

We have a caller now from Tampa and we’re going to go to Mickey and Mickey. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. Earlier you were talking about replenishing the earth. Yes. And could you please get off the line? Anyway, you were talking about replenishing the earth and what that kind of told me is this is man’s second time again on the earth.
Now I think your son is playing with the phone. It’s not the second time for man, but the earth was inhabited by plant and animal. life and dinosaurs and angelic life and that ended with Satan’s rebellion and then the seven days were a re-making of the earth and inhabitable again this time for man. So this is man’s only time and it’s going to probably wind up with just 7,000 years of human history and then it’ll be all over. Adam was here probably 6,000 years ago and the 7,000 years is about to take place at the millennium at any time when Christ returns and then this earth will be destroyed by fire and God creates a new heavens and a new earth where we will spend our eternity.
So it is a time when man has his day here on the earth. I see. Okay. Thank you very much, Dr. Lestre. Well, you are very welcome. Thank you for the question. So man is very recent and men have only been on the planet for 6,000 years. Evolution is certainly not true and there is no evidence of evolution. Just recently I read an article about how they took DNA from Crow Magnum men and compared it to human DNA and they said there’s absolutely no connection at all.
This is where modern science is going eventually. It’s just totally debunked everything to do with evolution because they can now connect to dots and there are no dots connecting any other type of life with man. Man is a distinct, unique creation of God as God took dust of the ground and breathed in his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. We now have national Tennessee. We have Jimmy on the line. Jimmy, welcome to my line.
You’re on the air. uh… i think that i can’t get that i can’t come with one of uh… actually i’ve uh… i’m a heard you all but uh… did you say one time on the broadcast one time i think it was years ago though that uh… the seven hundred club is going to interview you for some but you disagree with them on some uh… uh… point and they wouldn’t go and they’ve got to interview you because you disagree with them on some of that deal with well they did interview me they they sent down They’re a chief reporter from Washington, DC, and they sent down one of their chief camera persons from Virginia Beach from their headquarters.
And it was about the anniversary of the Tungs movement that began out in California on Azusa Street. And I had given some very powerful answers about why I believe Tungs has ceased and is nonexistent today and so on. And we had a great, they spent a whole day with me interviewing me. But they decided not to run it when I was asking why they said their senior editors decided it would be too disruptive to their celebration of the beginning of the Tonys movement in 1906 and the anniversary was last year in 2006.
So they never ran that whole interview. But they spent quite a bit of money to send these guys down on airplanes and put them in a hotel and get a parental car and bring their equipment out and interview me all day and then fly back home. And so it never did happen. But I hope that answers the question for you. I believe tongues is ceased and I believe it scripturally you can prove that. And there’s nobody today speaking in the gift of tongues which was a known foreign language.
In fact a specific dialect of it, the Greek word is dialectos. What people are doing today is a gibberish. It’s not the gift of tongues. So Jimmy I hope that helps. Okay. Yeah, because I think if I’m not mistaken and while I’m read, I want to my think, uh, uh, Ron’s, and he’s like from a Pentecostal background. I think he bleeds and speaking in terms and all that. But, uh, yeah, I’ve got. Well, he does. Yeah. I heard you say that one time.
I just want to make sure that was a right deal. But, uh, thanks a lot. You’re welcome, Jimmy. And that is exactly what happened. And, um, I’m sure he’s very sincere, but I believe that this whole movement is off on a false premise. And even the newspapers out in California said that these people were just doing a gibberish. It was not ever claimed to be a real genuine language. And that of course is what the Bible makes the big distinction with.
It wasn’t on language. It was a specific dialect. And it was used for evangelism. And 3,000 people got saved on Pentecost. We have a color from camp that we have. What is your name? Antoine Jucin. Antoine, yes. Okay, Antoine, welcome. Thank you. I like today that you have a geneticist. I would say that for a lot of people’s leaders, a lot of theologians. My problem is that if you would consider, I mean we consider a man as in spirit was on the earth.
Because remember in Ezekiel the Bible, God would tell Satan, hey, you are not God, you are a man, yet a man in spirit. And when he’s come to open the fields in heaven, God would say, hey, there is no man in heaven that could have done it. So God adjusts those. But I would say everything also is a recreation because that’s where our spirit comes from. When it comes to the new heaven that we come, God speaks, reuniting what is in heaven with what is at the time of His coming.
So there will be a time when everything will get back to its own cardinality just as the beginning. I think with the rebellion of sitting, yes, heaven and earth is divided. Everything is done away, it’s thin. Then heaven and earth will be reunited, pray for that kingdom to come. And I think at that time it will be. You have a question, and that was just said. That’s a common that I made. I believe that when the earth was originally created, the angels lived here.
Well, angels always appear as men, but they were not men. There was no man on the earth. And Jeremiah, when he was caught back in the past, said there was no man on the earth at the time God destroyed the earth in Genesis 1-2. But man, the first man, 1 Corinthians 1545 says the first man on the planet was Adam, and there was no man before that. Now it was just 6,000 years ago. Thank you for calling in. We now have some more offer questions.
I’m going to try to take a few of those. Marty in California calls in and Marty says, if a woman is a Christian and she is pregnant at the time of the rapture, she obviously goes to heaven. What about the child? And the answer is, I really don’t know. That’s a tough one and we would just have to speculate. And so we’ll just, I’ll leave that one alone. I don’t know the answer. It will trust that God will do the right thing.
We have Jim in Tampa, Florida, and she says that Jehovah’s Witness wants to show why Jesus wants to know why Jesus prayed to God in the garden if in fact he himself is God. How could I explain that to them? Well, he answers he’s God and man, and Jesus the man prayed to God the Father even as we do. You have to point out that Christ was a man, but at the same time he was God. And that’s exactly what you see there in John’s Gospel chapter 1 verse 14.
The word which was God according to verse 1 was made flesh verse 14 and dwelt among us. So Jesus is the God man, fully man and fully God. We have Jonathan in Tampa, Florida. Jesus is fully man. understand that. But can you explain Numbers 23-19? I’m turning there right now and let’s see what Numbers 23-19 has to say. This is Numbers 23 and we’re going to take a look here at verse 9. Is it, oh, 19. Excuse me, 19.
God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent. Well, there, of course, is talking about God himself, God the Father, and that he is not a man. But Jesus is the God man. Jesus came and took on human flesh. Good point, but not about Christ there. He’s talking about God is one who doesn’t change his mind. If he is going to do something, he’s going to follow through and keep that.
If he promises eternal life to you, you can tell him the fact that he’s not going to change his mind later and say, oops, I changed my mind. I won’t save you after all.” Alan in Richmond, Virginia calls in and says, please explain in more detail your belief in a recreation of the earth. Well, I thought we did that a moment ago. And the recreation is the Earth after it has been done. He had been destroyed being created again.
Now, if you read 2 Peter chapter 3, it talks in that one chapter about an earth that was destroyed, and then it talks about the present earth that we’re living on right now that will continue. It says until ungodly men are judged at the great white-torn judgment at the end of the millennium, and then it talks about in verse 13 about, nevertheless, we according to his promise, wait for the new heavens and the new earth. So there was a former earth, a present earth, and a future earth.
If you read 2 Peter chapter 3. In Revelation 21 verse 1 it says that I John saw a new heavens and a new earth. For the former heavens and the former earth were passed away. So this earth will come to a conclusion at the end of the millennium and God will create a new heavens and a new earth. So hopefully that helps and thank you for that question. Esther in Chattanooga, Tennessee says, please explain First Corinthians 11, 28, and is it proper for a person to have communion at home?
I think in under some circumstances, yes, but I think that the service coming together with believers. To remember the Lord’s death of the Lord’s Supper is a worship time and it’s not to be done in an unworthy manner. 1 Corinthians 11, 20 talks about observing the Lord’s Supper in an unworthy manner. It doesn’t mean that we are not unworthy. We all are unworthy and that’s why we take it in the Lord’s Supper to be reminded of the fact that we needed a Savior that Christ died for us because we were not eligible for heaven that we were not worthy, but it’s talking about the manner in which we do it.
And so it needs to be respected and a respectful time of worship and communion with the Lord. And I think if somebody is unable to get out of the home, that it could be observed with that person or the minister could come and have community with that person in the home, but certainly we want to treat the two ordinances that the Lord has given us with respect. I had one man tell me one time he baptized his wife in the bathtub.
Now, I really thought to myself this is not really what God had intended. It’s a testimony. And to baptize your wife in the bathtub is not quite the same thing and it moves us something. I like to do baptisms. We’re going to do one this Sunday in a lake and we’ll have a lot of people there and a lot of family and guests and we’ll preach the gospel and it’s a testimonial of those that are getting baptized of the fact they’ve been cleansed and they’re sent by the blood of Christ.
But in certain circumstances where people are invalid or not able to be transported and so on. I think that then in those circumstances it would be just fine. We have now Robert in Bradenton, Florida and Robert welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi Dr. Hank, God bless you. Thank Thank you. My question is about what is the word sees means when it talks about the tongues, hats, heaves, and what does the word perfor when the perfect tongues. So many people think that that means that when Jesus comes and can you come in on that?
What does the word sees means in perfect means? Absolutely, you know it’s in… in 1 Corinthians 13, 8 through 10 that you’re referring to, where it says that tongues would cease and the Greek word for cease means to come to an utter and complete halt. And it talks about two other gifts there that would be rendered unnecessary and would also cease the gift of knowledge and the gift of prophecy. So those gifts are gone. There are no New Testament prophets now.
If your church has prophets, I think maybe you’re in the wrong church, New Testament prophets are gone. There are no more prophets right now. The gift of prophecy sees the gift of knowledge sees and the gift of tonsis. Then it says it would happen when that was just perfect. It’s come. That has to be the word of God. The language there is all Newtter in gender in the Greek and it has to refer back to a neuter subject. Christ in Greek is Christos.
The OS ending is masculine. It cannot refer to Christ. It must be a neuter subject. By the way, the word perfect is used of the Bible and is neuter in gender. And we find in James 1, 25 written before 1 Corinthians. The Bible has talked about us that which is perfect. Also, back in Psalms. 17, I believe it is. It says the law of the Lord is perfect. That’s the word of God. And it converts the soul, it makes wise the simple.
And so the Bible uses that term perfect in reference to the scriptures and other places. Some say it’s referring to love because it’s the love chapter when Christ returns, everybody loves one another, there’s no war. That’s when it’s talking about. But love in the Greek, believe it or not, is feminine. So it cannot referred to love, it can’t refer to Christ, it has to refer to a neuter subject and the word perfect is used on the scriptures and it’s neuter.
And I think without a doubt that is what it’s talking about. When the New Testament’s record was completed in 1896, that in the gift of tongues, prophecy, and knowledge, and several others too that are not mentioned there were ceased as well and they’re gone. And what we see is a counterfeit, not the gift at all. Hope that helps, Robert. And thank you, Dr. Andan, God bless you. Thank you now for calling in today. We have Ken in Largo, Florida.
Ken, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. If I was wondering if you could help me, I’m trying to understand what seems to me to be two opposing concepts. It talks about in the Bible that God is omniscient, omnipresent and omniscient, that he knows He’s been there all, he’s always here. But then it says that in man and in Satan, inequity is found and flying that wasn’t there from the creation. Seems like, seems like It seems like that’s something that God put there for the purposes that he’s trying to He’s trying to accomplish, and that’s something that just arose out of our own volition, but it also appears like it’s preached differently that this is something that God didn’t actually plan, and I’m confused about that.
Well, what happens? What happened is that God gave creatures a choice and he knew that if he did that, some would choose yes and some would choose no. Satan made his choice a long time ago and it says he was perfect according Ezekiel 28 until an equity was found in him and that was of course when he decided to overthrow God. And basically sin, the essence of sin is for you to do your own thing with disregard to what God has said.
When Adam sinned he said basically God go jumping away. and said, you’re not to eat the tree of the knowledge you got an evil. And Adam regarded that and did his own thing. In 1953 it says, all we like sheep have gone astray. We have turned everyone to his own way. So to do it your way, I always think of Frank Sinatra. He said, I did it my way. And I said, whoa, that makes me frightened because that’s what sin is all about.
I did it my way. Well, you don’t want to do it your way. You want to do it God’s way. And that’s why the Bible says in Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. I don’t want to do it my way. I want to do it God’s way. And we need to trust God to guide and direct our path as He tells us there.
So we do it His way. So in the case of Satan, man of man, man decided I’m going to do it my way. And the result is, of course, what we see in our world today, If you don’t like the headlines, it’s because of sin and sin entered the human race through Adam, but sin entered the universe through Satan, and God knew he could have made us all robots. We could have all said as we got up in the morning, I love you, God, I love you, God, and our arms mechanically stretched out to embrace him.
God knew that that wasn’t going to be fulfilling. He wanted creatures of genuine choice. chose to trust him and love him. So he knew that there would be those who would not. And that’s exactly what it said it’s all about. Okay. I can appreciate that. I guess my iniquity was found in him. It seems like that’s… But that wouldn’t be making a choice. That would have just been exercising. That was already created within us. I don’t think it’s saying that.
But, uh, you know, read Ezekiel 28 againgage. It’s really saying, uh, that at some point, uh, Satan exercised his will to go against God. And that’s what sin is all about. And then obviously it was discovered. And we read those five I wills of Satan earlier on the broadcast. Thank you so much. We’re out of time. And this is amazing. We’re just having fun and the time runs out. I invite you to come by and see us this weekend if you live in driving distance.
