Alright, we’re going to try to go to the Bible here for a few minutes and then we’re going to take our callers today.
And this is a wonderful, wonderful time of the year. It’s a time when the world will be celebrating Christmas, but what is amazing to me? Most people really have no idea who Jesus Christ is, and they have no idea what this event is all about. When Jesus came, he came in order that he might give his life at Calvary and die to pay for our sins and when you trust Christ as your Savior, you receive the gift of eternal life.
The gift of Christmas is really the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord. The angel even announced to the shepherds that the babychieve would be found wrapped in swaddling clothes. Swaddling clothes are the narrow linen strips that are used in preparing a body for burial. You wouldn’t wrap your baby normally in swaddling clothes. This was quite unusual. It was a picture right from the very beginning that Christ came to die, came to give his life. The Old Testament prophets had spoken about that.
There were hundreds and hundreds of prophecies that were literally fulfilled when Christ came. It’s It’s interesting. It tells us that his death and the crucifixion that he went through was the means by which our sins were to be paid for. Isaiah 53, I love this chapter. It’s a whole chapter that deals with the life of Christ, told 740 years before he ever came. It says in verse 5 of Isaiah 53 verse 5, he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our pieces upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.
Think about that language. Who was wounded for our transgressions? Who was bruised for our iniquities? Well, the answer is the Messiah, the Savior. The prophets told about what would happen at the cross, and sure enough Jesus was wounded for what you and I have done wrong. He did no wrong. He was sinless. He was perfect. He was God. It took on human flesh. And yet the Bible tells us that he would become our substitute. That he would be wounded for our transgressions.
He would be bruised for our inequities. The chastisement of our peace would be upon him. And with his stripes. He said that we will be healed? Isn’t that exciting? It really is. And then I like verse 6, Isaiah 53,6 and this is all again, 740 years before Jesus ever came and died the first time. It says we are all like sheep and have gone astray and we’ve turned everyone to his own way. But then it goes on to say that the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
God took your sin, took my sin, laid it upon Christ and he paid for it. My His death at Telvary. Not exciting. So, what happened at the cross had been foretold long before He ever came. Micah 5-2 tells that He’d be born in Bethlehem. Incredible. And all of these prophecies literally came to pass. And there were about 330 of these prophecies that detailed the first coming of Christ, where born about his life and how he would die, all of that in the Old Testament, long before Jesus ever came.
Well, when you think about probability, and if you were to give each of these 330 prophecies, a one chance in 10 probability, the probability that all of these would be literally fulfilled would be one chance in 10 to the 330th power. It’s an incredible number. Can you imagine just writing 330 zeros? Zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, 330 of them? Well, the number is just astronomical. And obviously, it was like an impossibility.
How could all 330 prophecies be fulfilled? Yet Jesus Christ fulfilled every one of them. That’s why I’m absolutely convinced that the Bible has to be the Word of God and that Jesus Christ is exactly who he claimed that he is. He is the Savior. And by the way, today is the day. 2007, we’re about to be in this year. But it’s 2007 years since Jesus Christ was here on this earth. Not amazing. All of history revolves around Christ. All history before Christ is BC.
All history since Christ is AD. It’s amazing how people aren’t thinking about that, but your check isn’t legal unless you put the date on it and testify that Christ was here two thousand and seven years ago. If you sign a contract, it’s not a legal document unless you testify to the fact that Jesus Christ was here two thousand and seven years ago. Certainly no man has affected history like Christ did. The Jewish people try to get away from Christ, but they are unable to do so.
They call history before Christ BCE, which stands for before common era ERA. And then they call this present time since Christ CE or common era ERA. Well, the dividing point is the same. It’s Jesus that really split all of history. History before Christ, history after Christ. Can you imagine one man affecting the world in such a way as Jesus Christ has? But also he’s the divider of all men. The Bible says that all men are divided into two groups.
Those that believe and those that believe not. Those that believe on Christ are saved. those that believe not on Christ are lost. So he not only divides history, but he divides the whole human race into two groups. Those that believe and those that do not believe, those that trust Christ and those that do not, those that are going to heaven and those that are not going to go to heaven. And my friend, that’s the way it is. And I certainly hope that you have trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior.
And if you have, then really really. You’ve got a future that’s incredibly grand that’s waiting for you. From that moment on you can rest assured that you’re going to have it, but you’ve got all eternity where you live with Lord. I hope you would just tell the Lord Lord I’m a sinner, but I trust Jesus Christ right now as my Savior, as the one who died and paid for my sins and full by his death and shed blood was buried and rose again from the end.
The moment you do that God of in heaven saves you. Well we’re going to go to the phone lines here at Bible and by the way again I encourage you to move out on that decision to go to Israel. I’d love to have you. We’re going to have a nice group that will be able to move and navigate around. Israel quickly and see as much as we possibly can. We’ll get a chance to really enjoy each other and learn the Bible and I will take time after dinner in the evening and a hotel also to answer questions to study the Bible.
It’ll be a lot of fun. I hope you’ll go with me. It’ll be trip number 15. So call after the program and we’ll talk about it or or go on the internet to my website Bibleline Ministries and click on Bibleline news on the home page and everything you need to know about the trip is right there. The full brochures there, the full itineraries there and the information about signing up is all right there and if you have any questions or problems please call me.
We’re going to go to the phone lines and we only have one phone line today so that’s a problem but we’re We’re going to try to move along as best we can. We have Larry in Clearwater, Florida. And Larry, welcome to Bibleline, and you’re on the air. Hi, Dr. Lynch from? Yeah. Yeah, first of all, I’m a born-again Christian. But I do. I guess I’ve always had these questions in the back of my mind. One is, you know, in this country we have the opportunity, I mean we’re, you know, I wish they some of them well.
We have somebody off of these two fold. I mean, sort of people that have barely heard of Jesus Christ or maybe have never heard of him at all. How will they be judged? I mean, I don’t know, it seems like in other words we seem like we have much something Something I was wondering about two people in other religions, maybe the Monplums or whatever, I mean if they pray to Allah, they claim that they’re, you know, they could get Allah’s blessing them or answering their prayers or something.
Where is that power coming from? And what power they, I mean, what are these blessings or whatever that they claim that they’re getting? How are they? Is that all about? Well, the end? The answer really is that everybody on the planet is responsible to seek the Lord. The Bible tells us that God plants within every individual a knowledge of the fact that he exists. If you look at Romans 1, 19, it says that which may be known of God is manifest or made known in them for God have chosen them to them.
So there’s no such thing as a born atheist. You have to teach somebody atheism. Otherwise everybody believes in a supernatural power. may not know about Christ, but they do know there is a higher being. And that’s true in every culture. There’s no culture that doesn’t believe in that. In fact, I had a man that wound up living next to me with his family from Russia. And it turned out that we hit it off. He was an electrical engineer in Russia.
And I had graduated in electrical engineering here in the University of Florida in America. And we talked and I was able to lead him to Christ. But I asked him the question. And I said, did you not know that there was a God you were raised in a society that was godless and taught there was no God? Well he said he always knew there was a God. You know that’s something that’s in Brandon, that Romans 119 tells us that God places within us.
Then we find a Romans 120 that because of that man will have no excuse. So in other words man becomes responsible and if you seek the Lord you will find him no matter where you are on the planet. And so it says in Jeremiah 29-13 one of my favorite verses it says, you shall seek for me and find me when you shall search for me with all your heart. So somebody who truly, who is living God, God will get the message to them.
either have that person run across a believing, witnessing Christian or vice versa, that believing, witnessing Christian will run across the path of that, and say, person, I’ve had that happen. I’ve had people get saved that just were neighbors from different countries. I had led a family to Christ from Ethiopia that wound up living right within a block of my house. I had that Russian family within a block of my house and I found that I’ve led people to Christ from all over the world right here without even going hardly a few steps from my door but also.
I have been able to travel in many different parts of the world and led people to Christ in different countries where they live. And so I think that’s not by accident that God definitely arranges these things. And so nobody will have an excuse one day. Everybody will have to trust the Lord. And I think sometimes in these other lands it’s easier to find Christ because here we have so much of the counterfeit in America. So many isms and spasms and so many different beliefs and those that claim to be Christian that it causes a lot of And so and we know that he’s not a good vision So he certainly wants to keep people mixed up.
That’s for sure, but that’s the answer But then we also have the god of this world in the second Corinthians four four it says he’s the god of the soul can apparently answer your prayers. So I think if you notice carefully, oftentimes things that are evil and wrong, prosper. And the 73rd Psal Presumably talks about how the ungodly will prosper and how that they seem to get away with, in a sense, murder, literally probably so and that Satan having has a lot to do with that.
He’s a part of the deception and he will sometimes give you the appearance of blessing when really in its Satan’s deception. Larry, I hope it helps. Thank you very much. Thank you for your call and we’ll now have that phone line open so here’s the time to call quickly because we have the one line only right now. So maybe you could ask a question and hang up because that would benefit somebody else trying to get in on the one line that we have here today.
We have Keith in Lakeland, Florida and he calls in with a question off here and that’s about 1 Corinthians 14, 2. And it says here about unknown tongues. Is this speaking to God? Well if you read 1 Corinthians 14, it’s talking here about the misuse of the genuine gift of tongues when it was still operative. We believe tongues ceased at the end of the first century, that there is no one on the earth today, speaking in the biblical gift of tongues.
What they are doing is a gibberish that all the world religions do and is the counterfeit of the real thing. But in Corinth, which the Corinthian letter was written to the people who lived in Corinth, Greece, I’ve been there numerous times, and the language there, of course, is Greek. It’s in Greece, Corinth Greece. And so they should have been speaking in Greek in the church, but Paul is really chastising them for the misuse of the real gift. They were speaking in a foreign language.
They had the gift of speaking in that foreign language. They were speaking in that foreign language in the church in Corinth, and nobody understood them. So it says in verse two, a first Corinthians 14 that the question is asked about, he that speaketh in an unknown tongue. Now the word unknown is in italics. That means it’s not in the original manuscripts. It’s added by the translators, but what the translators were trying to let you and me know is that this was a tongue unknown to the hearer.
It’s not a time that’s unknown because all languages are known, but it’s a language unknown to the here. So it says, he that speaketh in a language unknown to the herer speaketh not unto men, but unto God. So if you were to speak in Russian, to somebody who didn’t understand Russian, God would understand Russian, but the person you’re talking to wouldn’t, and Paul says you’re just wasting your time. It says, nobody understands you. That’s why you’re speaking to God and not to men, because nobody understands the language that you’re speaking.
So it says here, you’re just speaking into the air. How be it in the spirit you’re speaking mysteries. The person listening is saying, what in the world is this guy saying? I have no clue. And so this was the misuse. If you get on the verse 9, Paul the Apostle says, except you speak by the tongue words, easy to be understood. How shall it be known what is spoken? You just speak into the air. So Paul is saying you We have to speak words that are easily understood by the hearer, not words that are unknown to the hearer, and that was the misuse of the gift.
So there’s no secret prayer language here. There is no way of sitting down and having some secret decoder type of language to talk to God. That is really made up in what the Bible is talking about at all. We have Ray in Lakeland, Florida now. Ray, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the end. Hello, Ray. Yeah, I’m caught there, huh?
Christian showed this morning and I believe it was, I caught the tail end of it, but I believe it was a Christian that claimed that he was an accident and he died and experienced heaven and he came back to life and he poured in the scripture, or absence from the body, present with the Lord and I just wondered if that was fought before Christian died and experienced heaven and come back and I’ll hang up with him. Paul did, but otherwise nobody else will.
It says in Hebrews 927, it’s appointed on the men once to die and then the judgment. So if he died, he certainly didn’t go to heaven. I don’t believe any of these stories about life after death going to heaven and coming back. And I think they are a fantasy. Usually those people are into bad doctrine and if you listen carefully, you’ll find some of that bad doctrine coming back. I’ve heard different preachers of angels say that they’ve actually been in heaven and saw their mansion under construction.
I reject all of that as being false and I wouldn’t buy into it at all. Sure do you thank you all for tuning in and we’re going to do a second half hour in just a minute so we don’t want you to go away. But I want to remind you we’re going to do that trip to Israel and I’d like to get you to sign up right away so that we have those seats reserved on our overseas flight. We also want you to know that Bible and is listeners supported and we could certainly use a Christmas gift.
If you could help Bible and that would be greatly, greatly appreciated and will thank you to advance for your prayers and for your gifts to Bible and you can do that by credit card over the phone. You can also of course ask for it on a vote to be sent. And when you think about giving, please give it to the Lord of Christmas and consider Bible and as a way of doing that. We’re going to take a break. We’ll come back into a second half hour of Bible.
I know we hope that you’re going to join us for that. We’re going to be back after this very short break. So keep your radio tuned right where it is. We’ll be right back. A Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englund through and it’s Monday and we’re glad to be able to be with you today and we’re limited on our phone lines today, so if you call, you might want to speak your question on the air and then hang up so the next person can get on the only phone line we have working today.
We certainly are embarrassed here. We switched carriers and we were told that it would be seamless and no problems and it’s a nightmare. But anyway, we do have one line open today and we hope that you’ll throw your questions our way. By the way, you can put them on the Internet as well. If you go to our homepage and if you click on the spinning globe, it’ll come up for the radio. And that page has a place for you to fill in your question and hit submit and we’ll get that and we’ll try to answer it on the air.
We’re going to Israel. We’re going to have a wonderful trip. I’m sure the weather is going to be great. We have some wonderful hotels all lined up. You’ll be really, really happy. You’ll have a wonderful time. Great food. The food over there is just marvelous. And we have buffet breakances and buffet dinners, which have lots of entrees. So no matter what you’re eating, taste, are there’s going to be something there that you’re going to find very delicious at every meal.
And you’ll have a nice room and a good night’s rest every day because it’s a lot of moving around every day to look at all the sites we’ll try to get in and I know you’ll have a ball. I want you to know it’s trip number 15 for me. We’ll try to make it a wonderful experience for you and you’ll be able to learn all day long about God’s Word and be right there where it all took place. If youSTD want to be baptized, well baptized you in the Jordan River will be doing that And so get signed up.
We’ve got to get the seats secured. And then we can always deal with the rest of the things that need to be done along the way. But we’ll help you. Call me, and I’ll talk to you about it. We’ll try to answer any questions you have or fears that you might have. And we’ll try to get that squared away. And we’ll be on our way for the trip really of a lifetime. By the line is this is supported. If you could help us, we would really appreciate that.
We certainly cannot survive without the gifts of our listeners. I hope that you’ll think about us here at Christmas and maybe give us a gift over the phone by credit card or mail a gift in as a Christmas present to the Lord and give to Bibleline to keep it on the air. We’re going to go and do a second half hour of the Bibleline program right now and so keep your radio tuned right where it is and we’ll be right back for that second half hour.
And so here we go. Keep your radio right where it is and don’t move. And here comes Bibleline. Part 2. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back for that break and this is Bibleline. It’s wonderful, wonderful to be able to be with you and we are excited about being on the air with you.
And we are experiencing some trouble today. We only have one line working, and we’re sad about that. But if you could just be patient with us and try to keep calling, we’ll try to get you in. You could also leave a question on the Internet, and we’ll get that and we’ll put that up for you. You can just go to bylawndministries.org or dot com, click on the spinning globe and the page will come up for radio. already set to go just type in your question and submit and we’ll get that.
We have Woodrow and he’s in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Woodrow, welcome to Babylon. You’re on the air. Thank you. You’re in Matthew. Right. Can you turn your radio down? The other sheep he’s talking there about are the Gentiles. You know, the Jewish people were God’s primary witnesses in the Old Testament and when they rejected their Messiah, God has turned to us Gentiles. Most of the believers today are Gentiles, but God is about ready to switch again and at the rapture we’re going to go up to meet the Lord in the air and God will return to using the Jews as his primary people.
But the other sheep that he’s talking about are Gentiles and where are those Gentiles that he was talking about. We still there? I think Woodrow was there anyhow. If you would like to call in we do have that one line open right now and we’ll try to get itch and you just have to keep pounding those buttons to get on my air. Again we’re talking about a trip to Israel coming up here and I hope you’ll So make your mind up real quickly here so we can secure the seats on the flight because once the seats are gone then it will be a lot to strap you to the way on the plane or do something else to get you over there to the homeland.
But I hope you’ll go with me. It would be great. Also, we have some wonderful specials here. You can call our regular church line too. You might want to write that down. I’ll try to name and give that a number of other few times. It’s Eric could eat one three. And that’s 884, 4328. And you can talk to our operators here. Our 800 number is limited to just one phone line right now. And hopefully we get that all fixed and everything will be OK again.
But submit a question by the internet or call in on our regular church line. And they’ll run a question over to us if you want to leave one that way. But we have Gene in Richmond, Virginia, and Gene, welcome to Bob on your own ear. Gene, are you there? Yes, my name is Gene, and I will call it to actually, do you know anything about Joe S. Goldsmith, and I’ll hang up and listen. All right, I really haven’t heard that name, and I’ll go ahead and get on the internet and this afternoon take a look.
But that goldsmith will take a look at that and see who that is. I don’t know whether maybe he’s an evangelist or Bible teacher or something I’m presuming. But we’ll find out where he stands and be able to give you an answer. We’ll probably give you that answer to our gene. And thank you for your call. That phone line is open again so you can call the one line that we have open today. 800-576-3771. Let’s see here. We have Larry in Tampa, Florida, leaves an author question.
What are the main teachings of the Mormons? We find that time. The Mormons really are a cult group. They deny the basics of Christianity. They deny the Trinity, the the deade of Christ, salvation by faith. They deny hell. And so they’re not Christian, but which is more surprising perhaps, is that they self-proclaimed that they migrated here from the plant Colab, K-O-L-O-B. You can look it up on the internet and that Jesus and Satan are brothers in that strange. But their system is totally false.
They deny the basic tenets of Christianity and are not a Christian organization at all. So I think it’s important to know that. We have some great books in our Resource Center. We have The Kingdom of the Cult, which will really laid out for you written by Walter Martin and we have some other books our book on evangelism Which is a great one as a Chapter on Mormons and how to reach them and it does the same thing We’re going to Charles now in St.
Petersburg and Charles welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Hello, hi Charles you’re on the air Alright, we’ll do that and we’ll leave this line open now so you can call in now, but Charles is asked this question. Charles, fasting gives you a clear mind because basically what it’s all about is when you eat a meal, your mind becomes dull and you become sleepy and you can’t think real clearly. So on an empty stomach you’re much more alert and I remember learning way back in college college that if I wanted to do well on one of my exams, I didn’t eat just before I took that exam.
So I would eat several hours in advance of a big exam. I still practice that. I like to eat early before I preach a couple of hours beforehand. In an evening service, I usually eat after church because I don’t want to eat just before I speak because it makes it a little bit dull in your mind. That’s what it’s all about. But everybody fast every day. It’s so big, great mystery. You know, when you go to sleep at night and you wake up in the morning, what’s the name of the first meal?
It’s called Breakfast. Breakfast. And you’ve broken the fast. So throughout the night, you have been fasting. And in the morning, your first meal is breaking the fast. And then we call it breakfast. So that’s all it’s all about. If you are seeking God’s will, if you are really wanting to take in the Word of God, I would do it on an empty stomach or with very little food in your stomach. Your mind will be much more clear. Your spiritual senses will be much more alive and you will better be able to discern what God has for you.
So I hope that helps. That is really what it is all about. No big mystery about it at all. We now have Andre’s in Tampa on the line. Andre’s welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Okay. Okay, you’re on there. You have a question? Go ahead. If you’re listening, good morning. Good morning. I got a question regarding the amount in order that you got up from the Holy Spirit. It’s about the falling of people. Some people… Some people judge or the people.
If they fall, they are a monkey. If they not, they know. I think that’s all funny and baloney. It’s all false teaching. When you trust the Lord of your Savior, you receive the Holy Spirit. of the Holy Spirit, and he is the anointing. If you go to 1 John, John talks about every believer having the anointing. It says here in verse 20 of 1 John chapter 2, you have an anointing from the Holy One and you know all things.
Verse 27 of 1 John 2 says, the anointing with you have received of him a bite of didn’t you? It’s the Holy Spirit and so everybody has that. Now this thing about falling down, that is really phony stuff. That is not biblical. Whenever you read in the Bible about people falling backward or being slain in the Spirit, it’s always people that are unsaved that do. I think it’s a tip off. I think they’re letting us know without even realizing it.
These people are not saved. So when I see people fall down, I believe that means that they don’t know the Lord is their Savior. Look at John chapter 18, you have Christ in the garden of Gethsemane, and there Judas is bringing the soldiers to betray him. And when the soldiers get near, Jesus comes right out and confronts them and says, whom are you seeking? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth, and when Jesus uses his divine name, I am. These trained fighting men, with their lanterns and their torches and their weapons and their fall right on their backside.
They were all unsaved. They were all unsaved. And then Jesus, of course, lays down the terms of His surrender and went with Him. This is a lot of bad teaching. If you’re into that, I think you need to find another church. But every believer has the anointing and the Holy Spirit. 1 John 2 20 and 2 27 have the fact that you have the anointing in you. He abides in you. That’s the Holy Spirit. and thank you for that call.
The phone number here, if you want to call, we do have one line open, and we’re gonna try to keep it open as much as possible for you. It’s 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We have Albert in Richmond, Virginia. He leaves his question off here. Concerning the 10 commandments, why is it that if you have broken one, you’ve broken them all? Well, the answer is, is that the penalty for breaking any of the Ten Commandments is death. The payment for sin is death.
And the Bible says if you tell a lie, you’ve broken one of the Ten Commandments, and the penalty would be death or actually ultimately hell where you’d be separated from God for all eternity. But if you committed murder, the penalty would be the same. If you committed adultery, the penalty would be the same. All of the commandments are not to be broken, but if you broke even one, then you will, in a sense, have broken them all because you could, one sin or a thousand sins, the penalty will be the same.
You’ll go to hell. That’s why we need a Savior. Everybody has sinned. Everybody has come short of the glory of God, and everybody will go to hell unless they They trust Christ as their Savior as the only one who can forgive their sin. So it says in James 2, 10, if you were to keep the whole wall and yet offend in one point, you’re guilty of all. You would be guilty before God and be cast into hell, which is true of every human being.
We’re all in that boat. That’s why we all need a Savior. We’re going to Rex down in Bradenton, Florida, and Rex walked into the Bible in the morning. Oh, hello. Thank you. I would like to ask you about Matthew. Is this the important one, son? Yes, exactly. I want to know exactly what you think the unpardonable sin is to blast me against the Holy Spirit. Okay. We’ll do that right then. You’ll find that in the context there, Christ had healed a man that was both blind and dumb, so that he both spake and he saw him.
And it was a notable miracle. Nobody could deny the miracle. man who was blind and couldn’t speak and now he speaks and now he sees. So the religious leaders, the Pharisees that came down from Jerusalem already were predisposed to reject Christ. So they said, wow, we can’t deny that he did this miracle. It’s just very obvious. So they said, yes, he does miracles, but he does it by the Prince of the Demons, by bells above. And so really what was taking place here was a rejection of Christ.
They said he was not the Messiah, not the Savior, not the Son of God, but he was a counterfeit, a fraud, an imposter. And so they basically attributed the miracle and the miracles that Christ did to the power of Satan, not to the power of the Holy Spirit. And that is the unpardonable sin. And so if you reject Christ. You’ve committed the unpardonable sin and that is what the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is. In Mark’s gospel, the answer comes out a lot more clear.
And if you want to turn there in your Bible in Mark 330, it says they were in danger of eternal damnation because they said he Christ hath an unclean spirit. So Mark 330 would be a good cross-reference therefore you take a look at. And they were in danger of committing the sin of God. blaspheming against the Holy Spirit because they said that Christ had an unclean spirit which means they rejected Christ and if you die without Christ you’ll go to hell and once you die it’s too late you could never be forgiven and it says they’re in danger because before they die they could change their mind and receive Christ as their Savior and be saved so it’s left open because once you trust Christ you’re okay there’s only one unpardonable sin it’s that of rejection of Christ and if you do not believe on
Christ as your Savior you will according to the Bible got to help but up until your last dying moment you could change your mind and trust Christ and be saved. Alright if you want to call in again that number is open 1-800-576-3771 we only have one line working today that’s because we were switching carriers and we were told that we wouldn’t have any problems and boy that’s been a nightmare since then we have been having nothing but phone problems when we tried to switch.
We’re going to go now to some of the off-air questions and we try to get the single callers in here because it’s only one line at a time that makes it a little more difficult. We’ll first go to a vine in Tampa, Florida, and a vine Welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. Hi, I have a question regarding the statements made by the religious leaders of our day just about every denomination, every leader. I’ve heard that we should not concern ourselves with the fact that Romney is a Mormon and that there should be no religious test.
I mean, this goes across the nomination lines. I don’t know of anybody who said that we should concern ourselves with that. Can you comment on that? Well, I think we should be concerned and because of different religious groups. That tells you what they believe. If they are really embracing their religious background, for example, if you’re Islam, you want to subjugate the whole world under Islam and Islamic law. And that would be a horrible thing for us who have experienced freedom all these years.
under Islam, you have no freedom. You are obviously very limited in what you can do, and especially women under that environment. But also, Mormon theology really says that the world should be conquered by Mormonism, and they’re not going to do it by the sword, as Islam does, but they definitely want to subjugate everybody under Mormonism. And if you live in Utah, Now you get to see a little sample of what it’s like to live under Mormonism. You are pretty much discriminated against very greatly if you’re not a Mormon and so on.
So this is unfortunate because of your belief system. You are what you believe. And so I think it’s very, very important. And it’s a sad thing today where we just try to pitch that all out. is significant and you have to say, well, what does a person believe that I want to be in government ruling over me? And if their religious beliefs are contrary to what the Bible says, I think that that’s a big negative. Thank you, Ivan, and I hope that answers your question.
That is my certainly opinion on that. We have Jonathan in Tampa, Florida. He leaves an author a question. He says, why isn’t the Genesis creation story is nearly same as the Sumerian creation meant? Well, you know, if there is one true story, wouldn’t it seem possible or likely that all the false stories would mock it or at least somewhat simulate it and be close to it? I think that’s the answer. The true stories of the Bible are found in basically all the world religions.
There’s almost every religion, a universal flood, just like the Bible talks about. And I think because there was a real flood. And I think that’s a confirmation of what the Bible teaches. And so it’s not, and it’s, Not a detriment is actually a proof. I think that there is the true story of the flood or the creation and so on. We have Martha down in Bradenton, Florida. Martha, welcome to Bibleline. We’re on the air. Thank you. Hey yesterday. I met at a luncheon, a gentleman who was concerned about him.
I going to heaven and I couldn’t answer him because I didn’t have my purse with all your wonderful tracks about boy. Am I going to heaven? I did give him the room. radio 5.70 a.m. and it’s my concern. I hope he’s listening and I’m wondering if you can go through that track real quick with him. Well, thank you, Martha. And the track you’re talking about is called, Am I Going to Heaven? And we have a quiz on the first page, 18 choices as to what you might have to do to be saved.
And they’re all work-related things that you might have to do. Like keeping 10 It’s going to church, giving, tithing, being baptized, being confirmed, and doing good works and all those kinds of things. And all of those are wrong answers. So if you check anything on our quiz, you have failed because they won’t save you. Then the Bible gives a scripture why each one of those are wrong and the correct answer is Jesus Christ. That he came as the Savior and that he died and gave his life so that those that would put their trust in him would not perish but have everlasting life.
And so the correct answer is none of the above. None of the things that were on our quiz will get you there, but the answer is Jesus being the way, the truth of life, and that when you trust in him, as it says in John 3 16, whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. So I hope your friend is listening and eternal life is a gift. It’s been paid for by Christ’s death and it’s offered free to everybody in the human race and when you simply trust Christ you become saved.
John, in Tampa, Forta calls in with this author a question. He says, where in the Bible do you find that you can do nothing without God? Well, it says it in John 15, 6 and John 15, 5. It says without Christ you can do nothing. So really we are totally dependent upon God for our every breath, our life, everything we have really has come forth from God. And if he decided that we weren’t going to exist any longer that would be the end of it.
But God has told us that we can live with him forever if we would only trust Jesus Christ as our Savior. So John I hope that helps with that question and thank you for calling into day. And let’s see here. We have, we just missed what Dean is trying to say. We have Dean in Clearwater Florida and he says, please explain Colossians chapter 3. I’m turning there now. 3. I am working my way toward Colossians. Here I am, chapter 3, and he’s asking about chapter 3 verse 13 for bearing one another and forgiving one another.
If any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so do you also. And above all these things put on charity or love, which is the bond of maturity. Let the peace of God rule in your hearts to the which also are you called into one body and be thankful. Well, I don’t see any mystery there. Basically it’s telling us that we should forgive one another and we should let the peace of God rule in our hearts.
That’s the verse I like so much because the way to discern God’s will is that God will give you peace about not which is his will and he’ll give you doubt and confusion about not which is not his will. So when God is revealing his will to you, he’ll give you peace about the direction you should go and then walk in that direction. As long as what you’re doing doesn’t violate clear scripture, you’re probably right in the path where God wants you to be.
The following over here is 1-800-576-3771-1800-576-3771. Get them trained to… I encourage you to go to Israel with me and we need to get those seats secured on the airplane. So I want you to talk to me and let’s make that decision. You need to make it a deposit to secure those seats and then we’re going to be okay. So hopefully you will call in and let’s do that right away so that we can know that you’re going to be seated with us on the same plane.
it’d be really difficult to get you on a different plane and i don’t want to strap you on the wing of the outside of the plane so uh… uh… we’d love to have you it’s going to be a wonderful trip and we’ll be limiting it to about thirty-two five people and uh… will have a wonderful group and have a great time exploring the land of Israel and learning from god’s word wherever we are we’re going to kevin in michigan and i kevin welcome to my one year Good morning.
How are you? Good, Kevin. The reason I’m calling is earlier you took a call about you’re only supposed to die once. But isn’t that spiritual death that he’s talking about? And in fact that there was a person that died, went to heaven and came back his name was Lazarus. And his testimony gathered more people than anyone. Well… Well, there have been a couple exceptions to the rule, but I don’t believe that you’re going to find anybody today is experiencing that.
Paul was caught up in the heaven itself. Lazarus, the beggar, went down into paradise in the heart of the earth, and obviously he didn’t come back. But we do have Christ telling me the story of what happened with him in Luke 16 and how that the people that were lost were also in the heart of the earth in a place of torment. But I don’t think there’s anything that would lead us to believe we could go to heaven and come back in this body and this lifetime.
So I would say no. We are out of time. But keep looking up. Jesus is coming and Lord William will be back tomorrow. And I hope you be out there listening. and pray for us. We have always something going on with the devil. I think he seems to want to give us a hard time.
