I’d love to have you on board with me. It’ll be trip number 15 for me. We’re going to have a wonderful, wonderful time. We’re going to turn to the book of Revelation today to chapter 12. And here we have a very fascinating passage that takes us back to the birth of Christ two thousand years ago.
Here it talks about Satan and how that he was there wanting to kill the baby Jesus as soon as he was born. You know the promise was in Genesis 3.15 that the seed of the woman, which is a reference to the Messiah and also perhaps a veiled reference to the virgin birth, that here a woman was would have a son without a father that this seat of the woman would ultimately crush or bruise the head of Satan that he would be put down by Jesus himself at the Second Coming.
Satan, knowing this all throughout the Old Testament, tries to prevent this Messiah from being born. And then we learn in Revelation 12 that when he was born, Satan was there ready to go. We find here, it says in verse 3 of Revelation 12, there appeared another wonder in heaven, a sign or a symbol, having a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns upon his head. Well that is Satan. We find that clearly told to us in verse 9 where it says the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.
So we find here that the dragon, which is Satan, tells us here in verse 4, the dragon stood before the woman. The woman there in this passage is Israel. The woman is, according to verse 1, clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet and upon her head a crown of twelve stars. Well, you would never know what this is talking about unless you’ve read the book of Genesis. And in Genesis chapter 38 we have the story there of Joseph the dreamer, the son of Jacob, who was sold him to slavery to Egypt.
We finally had a dream about the sun and the moon and about twelve stars and eleven stars bowed down and the sun and the moon bowed down to the twelve star well we know now what it’s all about it’s talking about his father and his mother and that Jacob of course name his name was changed to Israel and the twelve stars were the twelve sons of Jacob which became the twelve tribes of Israel and we find that when they were down in Egypt during when they came down to get food Joseph was made second only to Pharaoh.
They had to bow down before Joseph and Joseph of course took care of his family. It was this woman speaking here of Israel that would bring forth a male child which would be the Messiah. It says here in verse 4, the dragon stood before the woman that is Israel which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she bought forth a man-child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron.
All the Old Testament prophecies took about Christ coming back, ruling over all the nations as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and ruling with a rod of iron. And her child, Christ, Lord N. 5, was caught up into God and to His throne. So Jesus came and was rejected and then went back to heaven and sits down upon his throne as he waits now his second coming to come back and rule over the earth. But what is so interesting here is in Revelation 12 verse 4, the dragon stood before the woman at Satan standing before Israel which was ready to be delivered for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Satan was there to kill the baby Jesus. You know our Christmas cards we usually see the shepherds at the stable the baby lying in a manger and Joseph had married the animals But I believe if we were to get a real true picture We would have demons Fall angels and Satan There in that stable as well Wouldn’t that be scary to get a Christmas card with full of demonic faces and Satan sitting there couched ready to kill this baby lying in a manger That’s really the story here that the Bible tells us that Satan was present at the birth.
Satan was there. He wanted to kill that baby. And it says Satan stood before the woman, Israel, which was ready to be delivered for to devour her child as soon as it was born. We know that attempt two years later by Herod, killing all the babies two years old and under throughout all the land was a direct attempt motivated by Satan to kill the baby Jesus to get rid of this one, the Messiah that would one day crush the head of Satan and bruise him and put him down.
Well, obviously this is a little bit of insight into what happened there at the birth. spiritual warfare has been going on ever since Satan fell between God and Satan. Here we find Satan unseen, working behind the scenes to try to get rid of Jesus. Since he was not successful, he obviously now has turned against the Jewish people. Obviously, they are the subjects of his wrath now, and in the tribulation period we find here that Satan will come down having great wrath, and he will persecute the woman, that’s Israel, which brought forth the man-child, verse 13 of Revelation 12.
And so we find that the Jewish people would become hated above all people. And we find that Jesus tells us that when asked about what would be the sign of a second coming, he says, you, the Jewish people, would be hated above all nations for my name’s sake. It’s happening today, my friend, isn’t it? Jewish people are hated. A bin and job of I, when, has said that he wants to kill them all, destroy the nation of Israel. And we find that he’s not the first that is wanted to do that.
Have you ever thought that there’s a connection through history as to why that would want to happen? it’s Satan behind the scenes who is the father of all anti-Semitism. He wants the Jewish people to be destroyed. He wants them to be killed. What is so tragic today is we have many so-called Christian churches, denominations that have joined in to turn against Israel. And that is sad. We know. The President of the Presbyterian Church USA, a couple years ago in Richmond, Virginia, at their yearly assembly, voted 2.4 million people to buy at Boycott all companies doing business with Israel and siding with the Palestinians.
United Church of Christ did the same thing a year later, 3 million members deciding to turn against Israel boycott all companies doing business with Israel inside with the Palestinians. But all of those who have replacement theology are in the same boat. That’s the Methodist, the Lutherans, the Presbyterians, and the United Church of Christ and so many others including the Roman Catholic Church, which has held this position since the 5th century AD. This is not really of God, and if you read the Old Testament you’ll find that God is not done with Israel.
Israel has not been replaced. The church has not replaced Israel, but is temporarily being used of God to be his witnesses in this world. Let me read this incredible passage from Jeremiah 31. It says, Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night. This is Jeremiah 31-35, which divides the sea when the waves are of roar. The Lord of Host is his name.
Verse 36, God says, If those ordinances depart from before me, say of the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation to for me forever. Did the sun come up this morning? Yes, it did. As long as the sun comes up in the morning, you see the moon at night, and I saw it last night. And the stars, well, guess what? God is not through with Israel. The promises of the Bible are always going to be yes.
God will never say no to a promise that he’s made, and he’s made a promise to Israel that they would be raised up as the head nation on the earth at the Second Coming of Christ. So What the angels announced at the birth of Christ, peace on earth good will toward men, has been postponed because Christ was rejected, but He is coming again, and this time He will not be rejected. And He will come back as King of the Jews and King over all the nations of the earth, and isn’t that exciting?
It really is exciting stuff, and we believe we are getting close. The Jewish people are back in the state of Israel, and we see the events around the world coming to pass just like the Bible described that they would. The Jewish people are a nation again for the first time in 2000 years and we see the end of major players coming up on the world stage just like the Bible said that they would. Isn’t that amazing? I believe no doubt.
This is an absolute proof that the Bible is the word of God and that we’re living in the last days which are described by the Prophet Isaiah as when the the Jewish people would return back to their land. So we’ve been in the last days here for a while, and shortly the rapture will happen, and then the darkest hours of human history will take place here on the earth. And I think we can see it in sense that something is happening in our world.
It’s becoming global. The Bible tells us it would be the repeat of the attempt of Satan back in Genesis at the the Tower of Babel to have one world government, one world religion, and one universal language. It’s coming, it’s coming rather quickly. I’m excited and this is a special season, isn’t it? To be able to tell people about how God purchased our salvation, the gift of God is eternal life the Bible says. And that’s what Christmas is really all about.
When we tell the Christmas story, it’s about Christ coming in order to become a man, grow up and then die on the cross of Calvary to pay for our sins. All those that put their trust in Him are saved and saved eternally. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bible. It’s great to be with you. We’re looking forward to it every day. We want to get you to call if you have a question at 1-800-576-3771. If you want to go to Israel, we’d love to have you go.
I’ll be leaving February 25th and that’ll be a wonderful trip, 12 full days in Israel and we’ll come back with lots of stories to tell. We’re going to go down to my Amy Fora and we’re going to talk to Geraldine and Geraldine. Welcome to Bibleline You Are On The Air. Hi Geraldine. Well, Geraldine, I don’t know if she’s there or not because let’s try one more time. Geraldine, are you there? Yes, I’m here. All right, you’re on the air.
You’re on the air right now. Yeah, I have a question. Okay, ask it. Go ahead. In Hebrews chapter 9 verse 4 states that the altar of incense was in the Holy of Holies. Now that confuses me because on the altar of incense, Evan had to burn incense on that twice daily with a priestess twice daily and he could not go into the holy of hoities with once a year. He did. Okay, we finally hear it says in Hebrews 9 and I’ve turned there now.
It says, and there was a tabernacle made. The first where it was the candlestick and the table and the showbread which is called the sanctuary. And after the second veil, the tabernacle, which is called the holiest of all, which had the golden sensor, the ark of the covenant overlaid about with gold, where and where is the golden pot that had manna, and errands rod that butted. And over it, the cherubims of glory, shadowing the mercy seat, of which we cannot speak now particularly.
Well, it says here that the golden sensor is simply a shovel and that is where it was. But it doesn’t say anything about the altar of incense. And the altar of incense is where the incense was burned and that was in the holies, but not the holy of holies. So that’s the answer there. It doesn’t tell us that the altar of incense was in the holy of holies, but the golden and censor which was a shovel to bring coal in from the altar outside the temple was there.
Thank you Geraldine and we appreciate that call. We now have Lawrence in Hollywood Florida and Lawrence. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Lawrence? Hello Lawrence. Good morning. Good morning. You’re on the air. Okay. I have a follow up on Farm 8. I did a word study verses four and five where it reads in the King James. What is man does that what mindful of him and a son of man that’s out visited him. And then five says he has made him a little lower than the angels.
The word there angels when you check it out and strong’s comportence, the Hebrew dictionary, Number 430, it reads, Elohim, God. So he made Adam a little lower than God. And to recap everything, I’ve used different synonyms. This is how what is mortal man that you Lord remember him as the builder of the family This is… of Adam that you appointed ever, and dang him a little lower than God and have crass spender and majesty or spender and beauty. He’s all together different.
Adam was made a little lower than God. Very interesting. And you know, that is of course quoted in Hebrews chapter 2 and talks about Christ of of course who died so that we could be made higher than the angels. But is that word there? My point is here’s another thing too. Adam was the only one created spiritually alive. Jesus was the only one born. There is a difference between the two. One was created and one was begotten. Jesus was begotten of the Father.
And he meant down to 16. Yeah. And when you go back to Psalm 8, verse 6, made it to have dominion over the word, things under his feet, all the sheep, oxen. It reads similar to Genesis 1, 6 about Adam. When you have dominion over the, you know, over the animals. Well, gonna make a long story short, when you read even in the O King James, you really have to dig out the words, new words, study. Absolutely. It doesn’t sometimes it doesn’t mean what you think it means or what it says The meaning is all together different when you check out the words in Hebrew and Greek I Agree with it, and that’s wonderful.
Thank you Lawrence for sharing that with us today great word study that’s in Genesis and Psalms 8 and he’s referring to about man Thank you for pointing that out. I’m going to have to go back and check that out for myself. Appreciate that call and we are now going to go to Geno. And Geno is in Tampa, Florida. And Geno, we’re going to Bibleline here on the edge. Yes, how you doing? I asked a question. I heard you mentioned one time about the only for givables then is to die.
Unsaved. I hang up and listen to the answer. Okay, it’s the one and the same sin. And I think we talked about it yesterday or the day before on the air here. But if you’ll turn to Mark’s Gospel chapter 3, here you have a very clear answer as to what the unpardonable sin is. And in Mark chapter 3 we have here, I get into Christ, healing a man that was blind and dumb so that he both spake and saw.
The religious leaders said he heals because they couldn’t deny the healing. and they said he heals, but he does it by Satan’s power rather than by the power of the Holy Spirit by which Christ did his healings. And so he says here in verse 28 of Mark 3, all sins shall be forgiven under the sons of men, and blasphemies, wherewith, so where they shall blaspheme. But he shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, hath never forgiven us, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
And here’s the answer, verse 30, because they said, because they said he Christ hath done clean spirit. So notice it’s because they said Christ had done clean spirit. That means he’s an imposter, a fraud, a counterfeit, not the Son of God, not the Savior, not the Messiah. And so that is the sin that will cause you to go to hell. Jesus died for every sin imaginable. It says in verse 20, all sins shall be forgiven. And so Christ died for every sin you could ever commit your whole lifetime past, present, and future.
But if you reject Christ, who is the only remedy for your sin, then you have committed the unpardonable sin because if you reject Christ who died and paid for all of your sin and has died to forgive every sin you’d ever commit and you reject Him, then you can’t unescape help because you have rejected the only provision that God has made for your salvation and here it’s very clear in verse 30 because they said he Christ has an unclean spirit.
Thank you for calling in and that was Lawrence down in here. Now that was a Gino in Tampa, Florida. We now have Benjamin in Clearwater, Florida and Benjamin welcome to Welcome to Bibleline. I would like to know when God creates Aaron, he creates in him the spirit and soul also or just the soul and the body and also what is the difference between the spirit and soul. Thank you. Alright Ben, the answer is Adam was created. God, Body, Soul and Spirit, man was made a Trinity like God is a Trinity.
God exists as three separate eternal persons. God, the Eternal Father, God, the Eternal Son, God, the Eternal Spirit. And we have here man created in his image. And we also are a triune being, Body, Soul and Spirit. And we find that Adam and Eve could communicate with the Lord and had fellowship with the Lord until they sinned in the garden and then they were cut off. And so that is what we call spiritual death. At the instant Adam and Eve sin, or took of the fruit, they were cut off from God.
Want to say goodbye to our Miami listing audience because they are going to phase out here a little bit early. We hope to get a flower down there, but pray for us. And then of course, join us again tomorrow. And on the internet, you can get the full program. Thank you Miami. And now we’re going to resume with our color here. We are talking about body, soul, and spirit. So spiritual death occurred with Adam at the moment he took of the fruit and then he was spiritually dead.
And all of us who are related to Adam are born and spiritually dead or cut off spiritually from God. And it is our spirit that allows us to have communication with the spirit world and feed that information to our soul. The soul is really you and you and who you are. But we find that the spirit is the means by which we communicate with the spirit world. We now have Kerry in Tampa, Florida. And Kerry, welcome to Bibleline John here.
Hi, how you doing? Good. First of all, I just want to let you know. I’m real. Wonderful. My question is, is there a time? Well, I think 24 hours is 24 hours, but God is not bound by time. And the Bible tells us He existed before time began. So time is one of four dimensions that you and I are constrained by. And God lives outside of time. And therefore He can appear in time whenever He desires. And whenever He does appear, He claims that He is I am or in the present tense.
never says I was or I want to be. He is the God who is outside of time, we intercept time in the present tense. I hope that helps a little bit. We need more time to be able to discuss that. We’re going to Israel. I hope you’ll go with me. We’re going to leave on February 25th call and get the information, would you? And I’d like to have you sign up right away because we need to confirm those seats on the plane.
Also, don’t forget we are listeners supported. If you could help by the line at Christmas here. Give a gift to Christmas. I mean the Christ at Christmas here by giving it the Bible on call and give it over the phone or operators can tell you how you can mail that gift in. We’re going to take a break. We’ll come back into a second half hour or so. Don’t go away. We’ll be right back after this short break. Don’t go away.
Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. It’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright I’m Dr. Inklin Sherman, it’s been wonderful being with you today and again I want to thank all of you who listen and we have new listeners up there in Massachusetts and that’s exciting and for a few weeks now we’ve had my ami online which is great and we’re hoping that wherever you are that you would tell your friends about the Bible and program and also let them know about the internet because on the internet you can get our programs around the world and that’s 24 hours a day, 70s a week they can go at any time that’s convenient for them and that’s exciting.
When I was in Israel this past March I was able to tune in to Bibleline and also catch the worship service that was going on back here in Tampa, Florida while I was there in Israel. It’s not amazing. And that’s just absolutely phenomenal that this can happen, but we have our worship services there on the internet. If you click on the camera, if you go here at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning, you’ll catch the worship service live, and we hope you will.
If you click on the spinning logo, you’ll get our radio programs. If you click on the television set, you’ll get our TV programs. And so I hope you’ll take advantage of our website and the many other things that we We have there, including our online bookstore. If you want to get a gift for someone for Christmas, our bookstore is a good place to go to online. You can get there or call in and just talk to our players about what you think you might want to give to somebody and will help guide you and direct you to exactly the right gift to give.
We have the Schofield Bibles. We have several other wonderful tools for evangelism. This is a great time of the year to evangelize. We have those CDs, how permanent is your salvation? And they fit nicely in a Christmas card envelope. So if you want to include one with your Christmas card, that’s a great idea and lots of people have done that and they’ve had great success. We have a special, well we send out 20 of those which are normally final as a piece, with a copy of the handbook of evangelism and 50 of our best tracks for a gift of $100 to help Bibleline.
And that’s a hundred and twenty dollar value for a gift of a hundred. That will help Bibleline and also help you to evangelize here over to holidays where you pick out select people that you want to get saved and send that CD inside your Christmas card if you haven’t already mailed it. Or give it out in person or include it with a gift. However you want to do that. We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour of Bibleline.
I hope you stay tuned right where you are. Again, if you’re going to Israel, don’t forget we need to get you to at least make your deposit and reservation so that we can get you that seat secured in the plane. Here we go for a second half hour stay tuned. Would you like to call by the line and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And you can perhaps tell your friends about Bible and your guests that maybe will be in for Christmas that you tell them about Bible and we’re going to go down to the phone lines we have Wayne in Tampa, Florida and Wayne we welcome you to Bible and you’re on the air.
Good morning. Good morning. I have two questions. Warren how do you recommend a believer treat and study the apocryphal books and also how do you suggest one studies church history? and church fathers, study that, and what perspective should they take so that they not get wrapped up into the secession of a better way of describing? Well, first of all, the Apocryphal books are books not inspired. They were written during the inter-testament period. of them around 2-300 years before Christ and some more recently than that.
They were not written by an authentic spokesperson for God. None of them were ever accepted as being inspired. The Roman Catholic Church added them at the Council of Trent in 1554 AD, which they were really 2000 years late because if they had followed the protocol for the rest of the Bibles that were, the rest of the books were added to the Bible, they were all added as they were written. Moses wrote, people accepted his words as the words of God and his books were accepted as God’s word and so on and so on throughout all the prophets.
But God withdrew the prophets around 500 years before Christ and we have about almost 500 years of silent years where God was not speaking. So just realize they’re not inspired. They are histories and it can be very interesting and the Maccabees talk about what happened there with the event of Hanukkah, when the Maccabean priests really liberated Jerusalem in the temple and rededicated the temple, which is really what Hanukkah is all about. And all of their books are interesting, but they’re not inspired.
They don’t really affect any major doctrine, so I wouldn’t worry about that, but as far as losing any sleep over whether they do or do not belong in the Bible. And also early churches do the same thing. Obviously these were men not inspired, but they sometimes would say things and practice things that were not difficult, which always seems to be a truth where contamination comes in. And the Bible says that I like this verse very much. Second Corinthians 13.5 says, examine yourself whether you’re in the faith.
That phrase, the faith. It’s 43 times in the New Testament and is a phrase that speaks about the body of truth as contained in the Word of God. And so when you depart from the Scriptures that we have, the 66 books of the Bible, the 39 of the old, the 27 of the New Testament, then you’ve gone into error. So it says there in 2nd Corinthians 13, 5, examine yourself whether you be in the faith. Because when you stray away from the Bible, then you have left the faith.
So I would just be cautious as you should be with anything you read because the only book that is trustworthy, that has no errors in the original autographs, is the inspired in Aaron Word of God. God breathed the Scriptures and we believe they are God’s Word. hopefully that helps i think you just can read a miss history but don’t read them as being inspired word of god don’t count on that everything and in the mistroo uh… whereas in the scriptures you can okay we have and rekay down in my ami for and and rekley welcome to bible and it’s great to have you on the air hello hello you’re on the air hey hi uh…
yes it is how are you sir good This Christmas season, there are a lot of Bible studies on the air, you know, on the radio stations about surrounding, you know, the theme of Jesus’ birth. And I’ve heard a question, you know, you would think that it’s got it’s gonna bring his son or what’s in the case. When Mary was impregnated by the Holy Spirit, it was at a time in her life when it raised doubts and questions, you know, number one on Joseph and two on other people that, you know, it was not smooth.
Well, of course, and obviously Joseph himself was ready to divorce Mary, according to Matthew 118, because he knew he wasn’t a father and she was pregnant and he was ready to put her away privately. He wasn’t going to have her stone, but then the Lord revealed him. If you’re not, Joseph, to take Mary thy wife, because that which is conceived in here is of the Holy Spirit and he went on and revealed to Joseph what was going on there.
But otherwise Joseph was in himself where he concerned. But the question is why didn’t he make it any smoother? Why didn’t God? Is there a reason for this? And I’ve been pondering over this and just tell me what you think. tell me what you’re going to happen. Obviously Joseph and Mary had to trust God and you can see hig Mary’s submissiveness and when she was told that she very willingly submitted to God’s will and accepted exactly what her role is going to be in being the mother of the flesh that we got would take on himself and Joseph as well.
I think that it was for them as well to grow in their trust of award and in their knowledge of him. So they definitely and God doesn’t always make things easy here in this world because if everything went smoothly I don’t think we would depend upon the Lord. We wouldn’t grow but it’s adversity sometimes it brings about trust and experience with the Lord as we see him deliver us. What do you think about this? And I say, in the prophecy and I say, if Mary had been impregnated when she was already living with Joseph after that trauma, people would have said that Joseph baby, but by her being impregnated before having people see that she was not with Joseph, yet it’s clear that she was not, she had not known Joseph, Joseph had not known Mary, and therefore it could not have been Joseph baby.
So in a way I think it’s a way of fulfilling the prophecy that the virgin will be with child by here being impregnated in a period of time when she had not been with Joseph yet. What do you think about that? I think it’s a very good explanation. And we’ll just have to wait until we get to heaven to find out. I’m sorry sir? We’ll have to wait until we get to heaven to find out but it’s a good explanation.
I just thought I’ll share it with you and just wanted to take your, you know, have your cake on it. I’m glad you’re listening to me in Miami. I’ll keep it up. Thank you. Alright, that was Enrique in Miami, Florida. And we now have Joanne in Tampa, Florida. Joanne, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Oh hi. My name is Joanne. Yes, ma’am. I’m going from Tampa. And I just wanted to say that I had been listening to your program a while back and you spoke about homosexuals and I had the opportunity to witness to somebody and I wanted to know if you had any scriptures that you could give me that I could find.
that I could continue to witness to this person? Well, obviously the scriptures you bring to them is the same you bring to anybody else. The gods love the world, he gave his only begotten son, but who’s whoever believe it? So he got loves homosexuals as well. And if they trust the Lord they become the same. But then as a saved person they should practice abstinence and they certainly shouldn’t be active as a homosexual. Certainly they can be saved and I’ve led some to Christ and they then should live a solid lives.
Okay. Well that’s basically what I did but I didn’t think, I was wondering if there was anything special that because she had nursed her parents through both their illnesses and their death and that’s how the conversation started. I said, God honors that and she said God doesn’t honor me. I’m a homosexual and I’m going to hell. And I said, that’s not true. not true. That’s right. Good for you. The only thing that’s going to keep you from God is a relationship with Jesus Christ.
And I was just wondering if there was anything else just to regular just like I was witnessing to anyone else. Absolutely. We’re all members of the human race and all of us have sinned. And their sin is definitely one that marks them out a little bit for everybody else, that they can still be saved. And then if they do get saved, they’ll live for Christ. And the way to live for Him is to abstain. For sure, as far as our Christian life is concerned, but they’re saved just the same as anybody else by simply trusting Christ.
Okay. And one other thing. When God says that something’s an abomination, what does that mean? That means, in abomination, it’s something that God really hates. and homosexuality is something that God hates, for sure. God never intended for homosexuality, and he would have created Adam and Steve, but he created Adam and Eve, and so he created a woman from a man’s side, and he said that this type of sexual relationship is wrong, and is an abomination in his sight. They’re numerous verses, especially in chapter 18 and 19 and 20, of a vidic as you see some very strong statements there about how this is a wickedness and is an abomination and obviously God is not happy.
And he destroyed Sodom because of it. That’s why he destroyed Sodom. Thank you Joanne. We now have Jerry calling in and Jerry is in Tampa and Jerry Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello, Jerry. Yes. All right. You’re on the air. Okay. Hello. Yeah, you’re on. I hear you well. Yeah. Everybody else does to you. I’m trying to get in the week to actually my question is about the second death and it’s actually a killing of the soul or if we were accepted to burn in our centers or we accepted to burn in health or for eternity for basically 60 years of life on earth making bad decisions.
That’s all I want to talk about. Okay, well Revelation 20 verse 14 says that they were cast into the everlasting like a fire. This is the second death. The word death in the Bible always is used in the sense of separation, not annihilation or the cessation of existence. The unbeliever will live forever but in hell separated from God. So when it speaks about death, it speaks about separation. For example, physical death is the separation of your soul from your body.
But the second death is the separation of your soul from God in hell forever and ever and ever. And the Bible says in Revelation 20 verse 10 that they are tormented day and night forever and ever. So it is a place of fire, it is a place of torment and it is forever and ever. There is no ending of life for anybody in the human race. We were created according to the Bible as ever living souls. So our souls will never die.
And if you are a believer, then you go to heaven at death and we’ll live forever with the Lord. But if you’re an unbeliever, you’ll be cast into the lake of fire where in Mark chapter Jesus said three times that the soul would never die and the fire He said that three times the soul would never die and the fire would never be quenched. So if you wind up dying as an unbeliever, you’ve got a very, very rough future.
So you don’t want to have that happen to you. Thank you, Jerry. I hope that helps a little bit. Yes, sir. Good. Thank you very much. All right. Thank you. I was Jerry and Tampa, Florida and appreciate that call. We have your myra. in Sarah’s soda Florida calling and leaving this offer question and that is Jesus with his new resurrection body. Why are there nail scars visible? I don’t know why exactly the God chose to do that except he wanted to remind us of his love and of the greatness of his sacrifice and what he did there at the cross of Calvary.
So when Jesus came suspic the dead, he wanted everybody to know also it was the same one that had been crucified that came back from the dead. So I think there will be identifying things about our resurrection bodies as well that will be recognizable. But Christ came back in that resurrection body and when we see him, we’re going to see those nail scarred hands for sure. Juan in Jackson, Mississippi calls in and he says, why do you think the idea of the Gentiles being saved by grace and the Jews by election.
And of course everybody is saved by grace. Romans are talking about Jews and Gentiles being saved by grace. Romans 10, 12 says there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile. That the Lord is rich into all those that call upon him. Whoever shall call upon them in the end of the Lord shall be saved. That’s Romans 10, 12, and 13. So there’s no difference if you’re Jew or your Gentile. God elects to save all that would believe.
So if you are a believer, you have been elected or chosen to salvation. Because God before the foundation of the world chose to save all that would believe. And so it is the balls in your court. When you become a believer, when you trust Christ as your Savior, then you are chosen to be with the world in heaven forever and ever and ever. Brenda in St. Petersburg, do angels still fall? Also are they male? The answer to that is Brenda, all angels are male as they appear.
Often times they’re mistaken for men, and so they look like male men. They do not have wings, they don’t have halos, there is no such thing as a full, rather a female angel. There is no such thing as baby angels, angels don’t have marriage and sex. Matthew 22.30, Jesus said the angels don’t marry, neither are they given in marriage, and so they don’t have children. So angels by the way don’t even sing. There’s no reference in the Bible at all that an angel ever sang anything.
And yet look at how many hymns talk about choirs of angels. You can tell how obviously we get misled by hymns and by plays and by the Discovery Channel and these other presentations oftentimes at the store at what the Bible really says. Do angels still fall? The answer is no. Angels, all at one time, were frozen in time forever as in a sense that the ones that did not fall with Satan are the just angels or God’s angels and all those that fell with Satan when he tried to overthrow heaven are the fall angels or the demons of the New Testament and they are forever the wicked angels, the evil angels and the others are the forever the same angels or the just angels, but they don’t have the capacity anymore to have that choice.
So when they’re going to remain the same number of saved or just and unjust angels. We have here Jonathan and Tampa, Florida, leaves this question. The History Channel said that Ezekiel’s vision in chapter 1 was a UFO encounter. Do you reject this teaching? Absolutely. happen to mention the history channel or against discovery, but discovery and history they kind of mess up when they approach the Bible many times. Actually what you see there is Ezekiel is seeing a vision of the very throne of God and it’s interesting that Jesus is there.
He is a description of his appearance, which is very similar to what John saw in Revelation chapter 1 when he saw Christ. So this is not flying saucers, but describes the throne of God and the creatures that were there around the throne in a very fascinating passage. But Jonathan is certainly not a UFO experience there. In spring hill Florida calls in with this software question, he says Lordship Salvation, please explain briefly. Well those are those that teach that you have to add works to salvation, that you must submit to the Lordship of Christ and obey Him.
In addition to trusting Him as Savior, you must obey Him in order to be saved. That is certainly not true. And we’re not saved by works. And what is interesting is that in Matthew 7 verse 22 here we have a large group of people that acknowledge the Lordship of Christ and submit to the Lordship of Christ and yet they’re lost. Look at what it says in Matthew 7 22, many will say to me Christ said in that day, that’s at the Great White Throne Judgment, Lord, Lord.
And then they go on to say, haven’t we preached in your name and healed in your name and done many wonderful works in your name and then Christ will say to them, I never knew you. Not I once knew you and I lost you, but I never knew you, the part for me in you and to iniquity. So these people never mentioned trusting Christ and the shed blood at the cross as a means of their entrance into heaven. Notice they’re focusing on works and on the lordship of Christ and how they’ve been obedient to that in that they preached in his name, healed in his name, did wonderful works in his name, but Christ said, I never knew you.
Not that I once knew you. I never, I never knew you. And so here they’re lost. So you’re not saved by works. You’re not saved by submitting to the worship of Christ. To be saved, you must trust. That’s the key word, T-R-U-S-T. Trust that Jesus died and shed his blood as a means. The soul means, as the well means, of the forgiveness of your sin. So when you trust Christ and Christ alone, you become say eternally. Thank you, Matt, for that question.
We now have James in Lakeland, Florida, and James, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. How you doing? Good, good. Good. I thank God for you in your ministry. I have a quick question for you. I had a young man the other day. I can’t hear you that well on the radio, so I’m going to have to try and listen on the phone here. I had a young man called me the other day and asked me a question about safety and uh…
his uh… what was the job description and all that good stuff and i was careful about the answer but i had to do that I’ve had some people tell me that he was the phrase minister, the minister of you. you did but uh… after that call you and get some good answer well the answer is he was the god of this world he still has that title uh… according to second gradians four four he’s the god of this world and he ruled over this earth prior to Adam and Eve.
And he ruled over all of the creation that God had made, including all of God’s angels. They all lived on the earth. Satan never lived in heaven. But he did try to leave the earth and invade heaven and overthrow it. And when he did, he and a third of the angels then were cast back down to the earth and judged. And the earth was judged as well. And all life on the planet was killed. And that was probably about 65 million years ago.
Rather recently, six million years ago, God warmed up the earth and made it inhabitable again. This time he puts man on the earth. He didn’t have to recreate plants. The Bible says in Genesis 1, on the third day the plants came forth because it was sunlight and there was dry land and the seeds that were already there about fourth the plants. Animals that breathe there had to be recreated, but then on the sixth day God created man. The angels at that point were already fallen.
So I hope that helps answer a little bit. We’re out of time here, so I’m going to say goodbye to you, and thank you for calling in. Again, we want you to go to Israel.
