And we’re glad to have you with us today. It is Thursday and we are coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church. We are going to take a look at the Bible for a few minutes, for a few minutes and then we’ll take your call.

You can call us at 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to talk about the Bible and the question is where is heaven? Have you ever thought about it? Does the Bible have clues? Well, it certainly does. Whatever you ask a child, where is heaven, they will usually point straight up. But 12 hours later, if they They were still able to stand still and point upward. They’d be pointing in a totally different direction because the earth is turning on its axis constantly and the direction when you point upward is constantly changing.

So then where is heaven? Doesn’t the Bible give us some more specific clues and the answer is yes. It appears from a study of the scriptures that heaven is located in the north in our universe. When they would offer the sacrifices in the Old Testament, they would offer them northward before the Lord. Notice what it says in Leviticus chapter 1 verse 11, and he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the Lord. Isn’t that interesting?

The implication is that the Lord is in the north. The Lord, the Bible says, in Leviticus 1-11. Well, you know, north is always the same direction from this planet no matter what time of day. If you were to point to the North in the morning, 12 hours later you would still be pointing in the same direction. No matter where the earth is in its orbit about the sun, North is always the same direction in relationship to the earth. So no matter what time of day or what time of year, North is always the same direction.

Well, the Bible also implies that salvation comes from the north. In Psalm 75, 6 we read, for salvation cometh, neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. Therefore we conclude that salvation comes from the north, it’s the only choice left. It says there, salvation cometheth, either from the east or the west or the south. It has to come from the north. So God in heaven must be located in the North in our universe, and that is where salvation comes from.

Thirty-five hundred years ago, in the book of Job in the Old Testament, God gave us two amazing scientific facts in one verse. Job 26.7 says that God stretches out the North over the empty place and hangeth the earth upon nothing. scientific fact is that the earth is hung in space upon nothing. History tells us that men did not know this. Man did not believe that the earth was hung in space. The Egyptians, for example, believed that the earth was a saucer held up by five or four or five pillars and that they had a ring of mountains around the edge of the saucer to keep the water from running off.

Well, that was the belief of the Egyptians. The Greeks, Atlas, was the one who held the earth in place as he struggled to hold the earth on his back. You probably have seen depictions of that. The Hindus believed that the earth was carried on an elephant’s back and that the elephant was standing on a turtle that was swimming in a cosmic sea. I kind of like that last one. But you know, none of these were accurate. They were all wrong.

And the belief of the Greeks was so prevalent that even to this day when you get a book of maps is called An Atlas, isn’t it? All from this mythology and these bad guesses as to how the earth is suspended. But amazingly, the Bible does not include any of these myths and fairy tales. It simply states that the earth is hung upon nothing. Science today cannot give you a better description than this. If you ask a scientist what holds the earth in place, he’ll say gravity.

And if you ask him what is gravity, he’ll answer, well that’s what holds the earth in place. He’ll just go back around in a circle. Actually, there’s no better answer than God gave thirty-five hundred years ago in the book of Job where it says he stretches out the north over the empty place and hang at the earth upon nothing. But in this amazing verse in Job 26, 7, written 35 hundred years ago, there is another amazing scientific fact here.

There is an empty place or void in the north in our universe. It was first discovered by the 200-inch telescope in Mount Talomar, California. And since then, I’ve read recently that there are three separate observatories that are studying this phenomena where there’s stars in every direction where you look at our universe except in the north. There’s a corridor where there is a void where there’s no stars. How big is this void? They say it really is quite large. One percent of the visible universe, that is incredibly large.

They say it can hold 2,000 Milky Ways. No Hersey bars, but I’m teasing now. We’re talking about the Milky Way galaxy. Two thousand Milky Way galaxies could fit in that void in the north and our universe. Wow. Well, the Milky Way is a hundred thousand light years across. That means light traveling at 186,000 miles per second would take 100,000 years to go from one end of the Milky Way to the other. pretty huge and we believe that heaven is located in this void in the north where there are no stars.

Are there any other references to this void in the north? Well, there certainly are. Lucifer, who is the one who became Satan in his rebellion, when he tried to overthrow God, I spoke of this void in the North. Read Isaiah 14 verse 13, and here we have the five I wills of Satan, and here we have the thoughts of Satan that God knew as he planned his rebellion to overthrow heaven. It says here, for thou has said in thine heart, I will also sit upon the mount of the congregation in the sides.

In the North, in our universe, this must refer to this empty corridor in the North in our universe where there are no stars. Heaven is said to be there according to the Bible. In that very interesting passage in Isaiah 14, Satan says, firstly, I will ascend in the heaven. He was not in heaven, but he was going to send there and then he tells us, gives us wonderful description of a place with sides, a corridor, an empty place in the north where heaven must be.

Other interesting references are throughout the Bible, but one is interesting in Psalm 482. It says, Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised in the the city of our God in the mountain of His holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great king, another reference to this corridor in the north. This is not talking about the earthly Jerusalem, it’s talking about the New Jerusalem in heaven.

God has set it in such a place in away in this universe that he could look out over the whole universe out of his void. And obviously this is where God resides. And this is of course the city of the living God, the city that’s called the New Jerusalem. And that’s a place where we’re going to one day live. You know, John the Apostle in the book of Revelation, chapter 21 says, I saw a new heaven and a new earth.

For the first heaven and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Well, you know, this city is going to come from the north down to the new heavens and the new earth. Found an article, this is in New York Times and this one just caught my attention big time. It says, Auditing Space confounds astronomers.

It says here, astronomers have an unyielding mystery on their hands, something they’ve observed and pondered for three years, a point of light deep in the northern sky, northern sky, northern sky. There appears to be something like they’ve never seen before. Well, it seems like they cannot decipher the light of this particular object in the north. It says here that normally astronomers, by breaking the spectrum of light into its component elements and charting the spikes and dibs on the graph, can identify and describe an object within minutes.

In this case, however, astronomers are finding nothing familiar about the light spectrum. the head of the team at the California Institute of Technology in California that is the leader of this Sky Survey team that detected this point of light in the north. It says the light doesn’t vary. It doesn’t move. It doesn’t erupt. Well, they’ve never seen anything like this. This light is apparently constant. It doesn’t vary. I thought about that as I read that and I said, you know, the Bible says in the book of James that God is the father of light.

And with him there is no variableness, James chapter 1. I thought, could it be that men today with their modern telescopes are actually seeing light coming from God himself? Maybe this light originates with the city that God lives in the New Jerusalem. This light doesn’t vary. It doesn’t erupt. It doesn’t change. It’s without variableness. Just like the Bible says in James chapter 1 that God is the Father of Light and with Him there is no variableness. Isn’t that amazing?

The connection? Well, we’ll have to wait and see if we’re really looking at heaven today or God and the light coming forth from this void in the north is from God or not, but it’s kind of interesting to speculate because the Bible does tell us that heaven apparently is in the north. that God resigns there, and He is the Father of Light, and with Him there is no variable as an outside as the detected light from the North that they cannot explain.

It doesn’t erupt. It doesn’t change. There’s no variable as exactly like the Bible describes God in James chapter 1. What do you think? I’m excited about this Bible because it’s right on. It certainly is a book like no other book. It doesn’t have myth, fairy tale, superstition, it doesn’t have error, it is right on as science moves along it comes in line with the Bible. Rather than contradict the Bible, that demonstrates to me that this book has to be the word of God.

I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline. We’re looking forward to talking to you. You can call us at 1-800-576-3771 and we’re going to go to the phone lines. We have Nancy in Wesley Chapel, Florida and Nancy, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Well, thank you. Good morning, Dr. Hank. My husband and I have been having a discussion about the seat on the cross. He says that he was stayed by faith only because Christ had not died yet. And he thinks that after Christ died on the cross that we are now safe through baptism because that represents the death, burial, and resurrection and that we are not given the Holy Spirit until after we are baptized.

And if you would, would you please say a few words about that and I’ll hang up and listen to what you have to say. I sure do, Nancy. Thank you so much for coming in. And the answer is that no one has ever been saved any differently than that dying thief that cried out in his last moments of his life and said, do Lord remember me when you come into your kingdom. He trusted there in the death of the burial of the resurrection of Christ, and Christ said to him, today thou shalt be with me in paradise.

Water will not do anything for you. It does not wash away your sin, and it does not have a part in our salvation. It is symbolic for the believer who has been saved by faith alone in Christ the cleansing of our sin by the blood of Christ. The answer as the hymn writer gave it in his question, What can wash away my sin? Said nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood. Water cannot take away your sin.

The commandments, confirmation, church membership. Nothing that we do could ever wash away our sin. It is nothing but the blood. Now the baptism of the Holy Spirit does occur at the moment of belief and that is of course the placing of the believer into the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12-13 says by one spirit are we all, A-L-L. That is all believers are baptized or placed into one One body, whether we be bond or free, Jew or Gentile, we have all been made the drink in the One Spirit.

What does this mean? It means that now God position only sees you and me as a believer in Christ’s body. First Corinthians chapter 12 verse 27 declares the result. It says now you are the body of Christ and members in particular. So in other words, you become the body of Christ and become a member in that body at the moment of belief. That means that what happened to Christ’s body happened to you because God sees you in Christ’s body.

So when Christ was crucified, you were crucified. When he was buried, you were buried. When he rose from the dead, you rose from the dead. When he ascended into heaven, you ascended into heaven. And as it says in Ephesians 2 6 that he has raised us up together with Christ and made us to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. So in Christ Jesus, in the fact that we are seen in Christ, we are right now with Christ seated in heavenly places in Christ.

And so that’s our position in Christ, although we’re still here on the planet earth. But water baptism does not save. If you are trusting in water baptism, confirmation or any other act that you could perform to be saved, my friend you have violated the violation and you will not be saved because it is not of works. Salvation is a work. It says in Matthew chapter 3 verse 15 when Christ was baptized, suffered to be so now that we might fulfill all righteousness.

It was a work of righteousness that Christ was doing as he was now going through a baptism that marked the beginning of his ministry and consecrated him for his earthly priesthood. Exactly as in the Old Testament when a priest became thirty years of age, they were totally immersed by baptism as a picture of the beginning of their ministry. They were cleansed for service. And of course, Christ did not need to be cleansed from sin, but it was a marking at the beginning of his ministry.

The Titus 3.5 says not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us. So what aboutism will not save? If you were never one baptized but yet you trusted Christ alone as your only hope of heaven, you will be saved. Thank you Nancy. I hope I have answered enough to help you out. If not, I have several CDs on baptism. There are ten baptisms taught in the New Testament. I cover all ten in a CD which were put two Sunday messages together that describe all ten baptisms.

We also have some literature. If you have online access to the Internet, you can go to my website, Bibleline Ministries. Go under Dr. Lewis from Zarnicles in the bottom right-hand corner of the home page. And you can look up about four or five different articles I’ve written on baptism that will explain what we have just said here. We’re now going to go to Benjamin in Clearwater. And Benjamin, welcome to Bible Irony, on the Earth. Good morning. When we talk about this before, I’m going to understand, in the beginning, who will offend the spirit or the soul?

And today, who is still seeing the spirit or the soul? Thank you. Good question. And I think the answer is both. Obviously, we sin as a total person and some have speculated that the Spirit cannot sin. That is not true. You’ll find that the Bible does talk about the Spirit being capable of sinning. I think I’m going to see if I can find a verse real quick that would tell you that. But obviously you, the person, the soul sin, and we sin in our body, and we have our spirit involved in that expression of sin for sure.

Let me see if I can find it. I don’t know if I can real quickly, but I know there is a reference. I think it’s here in 2 Corinthians chapter 7 in verse 1 where Paul, the apostles, says, having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting or maturing wholeness in the fear of God. So here you have pretty comprehensive verse here that talks about filthiness or sin of the flesh and of the spirit.

So definitely all three parts of our makeup are involved in sin. Thank you Benjamin, a good question and we have lots of affairs. We’ll try to catch some of those as well. Today is our television day. We’re on 6.30 tonight on World Harvest Television Channel 321 nationwide. So if you have World Harvest Television on your direct TV, we’re on Channel 321. That’s at 6.30 tonight, Eastern Standard Time. Anyway, we’re going to Israel. I want you to go with me.

I’m trying to get you to look at that brochure and make a decision. We need to reserve the seats on the plane as quickly as we can. And that’s the first step. So if you would call me, I’d be glad to talk to you about the trip. And I think we’ll have a wonderful time and I’d love to have you on board. Call and we’ll send a brochure out or you can go on the internet and see it under Bible line news on the homepage.

Call us. We’ll be glad to help you with this. I want to say goodbye to our Miami audience and thank you for tuning in today. We had a nice email from a listener down there thanking us for being on the air in Miami. And we’ll be back again for you Miami folks tomorrow. So stay tuned tomorrow to Bibleline and we’ll now return to the rest of our audience and still listening to us and we are glad that you are tuned in today.

By the way, we are listeners supported and here we are with the last month of a year closing out and we could use your help to take care of bills here to make sure that we’re able to be on the air in your area and to continue. God bless all of you who give and I want to thank you in advance. And again, we praise God for every one of you who listen, we really do appreciate our audience and love when we get a chance to shake your hand or to meet you.

And we hope that we’ll get that opportunity sometime. If not here on this earth, we’ll meet you in the air because every believer will be raptured up. I think a good chance that we’re all going to be in that wonderful event where we’re caught up to meet the Lord in the air and will be with him forever and ever and ever. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. You know, there is a lot of confusion out there and there’s only one thing you can do to be saved, necessarily trust Christ.

And water baptism does not save nor does anything else you and I might attempt to do. We’re saved by simply trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ. He paid it all. And I love that hymn that says that Jesus paid it all. All of Him I owe sin and love to the Crimson’s name, but He washed it as white as snow. We’re going to go to break. We’ll come back and do a second half hour Bibleline. The full program is on the internet as well, by the way, at our website.

And don’t go away. I’ll be right back and we’ll do a second half hour. The way Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. It’ll be trip number 15 for me. We’re going to explore Israel from one end to the other. It ought to be a wonderful time. If you want to give a gift, you can do it by credit card over the phone before this year is out, and that would really be helpful to Bible and would you consider giving a gift to Bible and keeping us on the air.

Really, we are absolutely totally supported by our listeners. And I want to thank God for all of you who give and pray. You truly have been a blessing to us and we thank you. And we want to thank you in advance for what you’re going to do before this year is out. We’re going to go back to the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour Bible and so we want you to stay tuned and listen for the next half hour.

We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios right here at the Talvary Community Church. Obviously, we are excited about being with you every day. This is Thursday. It’s our TV day.

on that. And of course we have a years where the pussermen sitting there you can watch that are already there. So you can watch those all throughout the week at whatever time of day or night you want to look. And then if you go Sunday morning at 11 you can actually catch our worship service live. If you’d like to call in here to Bible, I’m the phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We’re excited about a new station in North Adams, Massachusetts.

And it’s an FM station, I think it’s 98.9. If you know anybody in that area, plus we’re on daily in New York, in Albany, and in Utica, New York. And that, of course, bleeds up in Buchanan and across the Massachusetts and Connecticut and so on. And you can pass the word along to your friends that might live in those areas. By the way, if you have friends or missionaries or family in other countries, 151 countries have all gone. It doesn’t matter where you are on the planet, if you have internet access, you can be listening and watching by line.

That’s right. When I was in Israel of March of this year, I was able to get on the internet and pull up the worship service live right here from my own church, Calvary Community Church, while we were in Israel. amazing that you could do that. You could feel so connected and we’d like to have you connect with us as well by the Internet check out our website Bibleline ministries O-R-G or dot-com we’re gonna go to the phone lines. We have Gino in Tampa and Gino welcome to Bibleline your own here About what God is Good merit giving married people with it by our 2000 angels and seeing the people so many angels and why, why have Mary even more angels than Mary people?

I mean, that’s the only people in our hands with another space. Okay. I was not too sure if I understood the question now, but angels do not marry. I think maybe that’s what you were saying. I don’t know. But in Matthew 2230, it says angels do not marry nor are they given in marriage. And so we find that angels don’t have babies or no baby angels or female angels, only male angels and they don’t marry and they don’t have children.

So there’s no such thing as a female angel, no such thing as baby angels and the angel population has not increased by one sense to creation. That’s right. angels that ever will be were already created at the time of the creation. We’re now going to go to Tom and Tom is in Tampa for it. Tom welcome to Bibleline you’re on the end. Thank you sir. Good morning God bless you. Question for you. Reading through the New Testament again and in Matthew chapter 11 the Lord Jesus in his commission to the 70.

one point not to give any thought of what they would say would give them what to say. And in John we find that after the Lord Jesus, after the resurrection, he breathed on them and said, we see the Holy Ghost. At what point during the disciples relationship with Christ did they actually come to know Christ in Was it, uh, didn’t it get your thoughts on that? Well, I personally feel that they got, uh, they were saved at the moment they trusted the Lord.

Then subsequently they were invited to become disciples. But the Holy Spirit in dwelling them didn’t occur until first at the, uh, after the resurrection during those 40 days, he breathed on the Holy Spirit. But that was only temporary when Christ ascended back to heaven. I believe they did not continue to have the Holy Spirit. spirit but were to wait ten more days till Pentecost when the Holy Spirit would permanently and dwell the believers of this age. But I believe that they got saved and knew the Lord from the very, very beginning but they were invited to become his apostles as a subsequent choice that they would make.

So when you trust Christ you become saved and as us, as believers we won’t become apostles but we can become disciples by choice as a subsequent decision. For me, it was a year after I got saved that I became a disciple, but I was saved, fully saved, and knew I was saved at the moment that I trusted Christ as my Savior. So the apostles obviously grew, and Peter talks about that in 1 Peter 2. He says, as newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of the Word that you may grow thereby.

So we have a new birth, but then we are to grow in our knowledge of Christ. And Peter seems to talk about that several times. He also talks about in 2 Peter about growing in knowledge. And that’s in chapter 3. So there’s several references by Peter about Christian growth. And then we sort of off as baby believers. As far as our position is concerned, we’re seen as full adult sons with all the rights and privileges of full adult sons or daughters at the moment of belief.

But in our actual state, we grow in our understanding and our knowledge of Christ. And obviously the disciples did as well. Alright, Geno called back and he said he was talking about guardian angels and every believer I believe has a guardian angel. Hebrews 1, 13 and 14, tell us about angels, that is God’s angels, the ones that did not fall along with Satan, our guardian spirits to us who are the heirs of salvation, the believers. And but we’re not to seek our guardian angel, try to communicate with our guardian angel or any of those things.

We are simply to become dependent upon the Lord, and if he needs to send angels to our assistance, God is the one that does that. I was surprised in the bookstores there are all kinds of books on how to contact your guardian angel. That’s dangerous and that’s forbidden and you’re going to get into trouble spiritually if you go trying to seek out, talk to, communicate with, identify your guardian angel. You’re going to be finding the devil will impersonate and mislead you terribly and you’re going to get yourself in spiritual trouble.

Don’t do that. All right. It says here Jim and Sarah said it calls in. You just mentioned 1 Corinthians 7, 1 that our spirit can sin. So it must be in our spirit and God’s spirit are totally separate from each other. Is this true? If so, please give your scripture your reference. Well, sin separates from God. And guess what? Fellowship is broken by sin in a believer. So when you sin as a believer Yes, your spirit becomes separate from God spirit and your fellowship with the Lord is broken your relationship is not Your relationship is permanent.

It cannot be undone The relationship is the new birth where you become God’s son and you’re eternally his son or daughter from the moment you trust Christ as your Savior. But fellowship, your intimacy with the Lord is broken by sin and yes indeed your spirit becomes separated from God’s Spirit and you have no fellowship when you are obviously living after the sins of the flesh and your spirit obviously becomes separated from God. So So yes, I agree with that.

And we need to obviously practice what John says in 1 John 1 8. He says, if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. But then he says in verse 9, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and the cleanses from all in righteousness. That’s not a salvation verse. John there, the apostle, is writing this. A minimum of 60 years after he got saved, and he’s saying if we confess our sins, he’s talking about a believer sinning and confessing it and being restored to fellowship.

And that’s obviously true. The Spirit is separated from God’s Spirit when we sin. To be restored we need to confess that and God cleanses and forgives at that moment according to the promise in 1 John 1, 8, and 9. Thank you for that call Jim. That was a good question to follow up on that particular thought we were on. We’re now going to Peter in Tampa, Florida and Peter, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Good morning, pastor. Yes. I have a comment to Nancy, the first caller that called in regarding the water baptism and the thief on the clock.

She forgot to and to the defeat died for and that was kind of the presumption of why the salvation would be different for him. If she reads in the gospel of John, she’ll see that the two thieves died after Jesus. So that’s also something for 20 after Jesus says, receive you the Holy Spirit. He also says to them, who so ever sinned you retain or retain who so ever you remit or remitted, I’m going to hang up. Can you kind of go into that?

Because those words don’t seem to convey the right meaning. So I’m going to hang up and listen to your response. All of us as believers have the power to forgive sin in the message of the gospel that we present to somebody else. You know that Peter never claimed personal power to forgive sin, but Peter said in Acts 4, 12, neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

So Peter, being one who brought salvation and forgiveness of sin to many people, did it by bringing the gospel to them. And so Paul said Romans 1, 16, I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it the gospel is the power of God and the salvation. So we have the power to forgive sins in that we have been entrusted with the gospel. First Thessalonians 2, 4 says, as we are allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak.

not as pleasing men, but God must try their hearts. So as we give out the gospel, we have the authority to tell someone if they receive that message and believe in the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ is the only means of their salvation that they are forgiven of their sin via the death of Christ. But if they reject that message, we can also say on the authority of God’s word that they’re in trouble that they’ll wind up in hell forever because if they die without trusting Christ they cannot be saved.

So we have that power to forgive sin and to, obviously it says here, remit sins, it says in John chapter 20, but every believer has that power and it’s exciting really to think about that we have the cure for sin. We have the remedy for sin. We have the answer for sin in the message of the gospel. When we bring that message to somebody who has lost, we then obviously can’t have the authority to say, if you believe this message, because God has given us his word on it, you are forgiven.

I like 2 Corinthians chapter 2 where it says, thanks be unto God, which always causes us to triumphant Christ and makes manifest the saver of his knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet saver of Christ and them that are saved and in them that perish to the one with the saver of death and the death and to the other the saver of life and the life. Wow. And then it says, who is sufficient for these things?

Obviously we are not sufficient in ourselves, but God gives us the message. And when we bring that message, we can forgive sin or retain sins based upon whether they believe or reject the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you, Peter, for calling in. And now we’re going to go to Tom. And Tom is, didn’t get to his second question, so let’s go back to Tom. Tom, are you there? Okay, thank you. I am. Thank you, sir. I guess then are we safe to conclude?

Sir, the Bible says that the disciples were in ministry before Christ’s death on the cross and that they were actually ministering in the Old Testament economy. Their salvation was fulfilled like Abraham and Moses. Looking forward to the completed work of the cross. Absolutely sure. They were saved like Abraham and all the others. And that makes it clear that everybody who’s there has been saved has been saved. like Abraham that he’s the father of faith and it says those that are of the faith of Abraham to believe on Christ as Savior become Abraham’s children in Galatians 3 and 7.

So we are in that spiritual family that Abraham is called the father of which is inclusive of all believers but at that particular point obviously the death of Christ was future and they believed on Christ as their Savior. Okay, and then the death of Christ paid the penalty for our sin Lord Jesus Christ the victory over death Helen’s grave to eternal life But it’s faith in Christ that rots out salvation absolute trust in The finished work of Calvary amen Lord will continue usual in the upcoming year unless he calls us to himself sooner Amen, thank you Tom Tom in in Tampa, Florida, calling in.

We now have Liz in Prince George, Virginia. And Liz, welcome to Bimline. Hi, how are you? Good. I have a question. Is it biblical to bring another believer to court who has slandered you and bore false witness against you to the point that it could possibly affect your job? Wow. Well, you know the Bible talks about taking another believer to court and tells us that it really is a bad witness to the lost because they look at us not being able to handle our problems.

Sometimes these can be handled by mediation, maybe with church leaders, I don’t know if this other person would submit, but if they’re a believer, we have done that in our church here where believers had disagreements And rather than go before the law, they would choose to go before the church leaders and had resolved themselves to abide by whatever decision the church leaders had come to in reference to their differences. But let me just quote a verse for you here.

it’s in the first Corinthians chapter 6. And here it says, pretty strongly, dare any of you having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust or the unsaved and not before the saints. And then it talks about the saints. One day we’ll judge angels. And also the unsaved dead will be judged at the great white throne judgment. And we’re going to be there as a part of a judgment. And so it says here that should not we be able to take care of problems between other believers.

And then it says here in verse four, if then you have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are the least esteemed in the church, I speak this to your shame. And then it goes on to say here that sometimes maybe it would be better to just suffer the wrong. It says in verse 7, therefore there is utterly a fault among you because you go to law one with another. Why do you not rather take wrong?

Why do you not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? May you do wrong in defraud you defraud and that your brethren. So talking about here, we really are bad witness before the world when we take another believer to court, but perhaps it can be resolved within the church before the leaders of the church. All right. Thank you very much. Okay. That might be a solution. Sometimes if believers could come together and submit themselves to wiser older Christians who would hear the matter and offer advice to how to solve that if the parties would be willing for the gospel sake of Christ’s sake to handle it that way.

That would be the preferred way according to 1 Corinthians chapter 6. That’s where we were reading from. Thank you, Liz, up in Prince George, Virginia. We have here a a Ben in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he said, there are 969 laws in the Bible. I believe you, but I’m wondering where to find that information. In order to witness to others, we are not free, who are not free from works. Keep teaching free grace. Okay, Ben. Well, it’s all back there in the first five books of Moses and I haven’t got my pen out and calculated all these.

But basically, Jewish people are more than they are. fully aware of all the different laws that are involved. And they’re dietary laws, civil laws, ceremonial laws, in addition to the Ten Commandments. And it just becomes impossible to keep them all. I mean, there are just so many. And that’s why really no one could ever be saved by the law. We haven’t, first of all, kept even the Ten Commandments. I mean think about it. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all my heart, with all my mind, with all my soul.

Who has ever done that? The first time you look in a mirror and admire yourself, you’ve broken that commandment. I don’t know of anybody that has ever kept it. We’ve all broken it. Thou shalt not bear false witness. Who has never told a lie in their lifetime? Everybody has. So obviously we’ve broken the commandments, impossible to be saved by works. The law was given to show us our need, but the blood of Christ is the only thing that it can cleanse us from our sins.

Thank you Ben for calling in. I hope that helps a little bit. I don’t know of a book, perhaps, or is it actually lists out the 969 laws, but I think you might call a synagogue and ask a rabbi because I think they are much more familiar with the laws, especially in Orthodox Jew, really, really is going to be more mindful of all these little laws in the UN and so on. We had Gershaun Solomon visit us who is attempting to build that third temple in Jerusalem, which he’s been cutting the stones and getting things ready.

We had him here and we had some ladies fix him a meal. And boy, we all of a sudden became very, very aware of the laws about kosher food and everything. He wouldn’t eat it. And their hearts were broken. They had spent hours preparing this meal. But it depends on where it’s prepared, if it’s been prepared on dishes that have mixed dairy and meat can’t eat it. He wouldn’t eat anything except it was on paper plates because they obviously were kosher or clean, never used before.

And paper and rather plastic forks and spoons. So the ladies just did that because they had fine china and everything else but he refused all of that. And then of course we had to go out and just buy them fresh fruit and things from the store that were absolutely kosher before he would eat it. So we learned a lot. And it was a quick lesson here for the ladies who had prepared such a wonderful meal. Well, I got to eat a lot of that wonderful meal because Gersha didn’t eat any of it.

But he follows the rules as an Orthodox Jew. So kind of difficult to live because you have to follow these rules every minute of the day. But apparently not too burdensome for him, he just does it as a routine. But as a non-Jew, it’s a new lesson for sure to become acquainted with all these laws and rules that come up.
