Plus, there’s a year’s worth of sermon sitting there in archive you can go to. We’re talking about Israel again, and of course the input we’re getting is interesting. We’re thinking about going to Egypt and then to the country of Jordan and visiting the Rock City of Petra where the Jewish people will flee from the Antichrist the Tribulation and we’ll go to the resort city of Iluot in southern Israel where Jordan, Egypt and Israel all come together.
And then of course we’ll do 10 days in Israel after that. And it ought to be great trips. You can do part and not the other. You can do the Israel portion without the Egypt and Jordan or you can do it all. It’ll be a five day extension prior to Israel or a 15 day trip or if you just did the Israel portion attend a trip. Give us your name. Let us know that you’re interested and we’ll talk to you about what we’re thinking about doing and see if it fits your plans and I’d love to have you go with me until September 16.

Every third Sunday we have a dinner right after the worship service. You’re welcome to come at 10.30, bring your family, your Bible, your appetite, and bring guests and be here 1030 and then stay for the lunch dinner that will occur right after the morning worship service.
Our resource center is open every day until 4 30 if you want to come by and visit or visit online at BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on the online bookstore and you’ll be able to visit. We have some wonderful things in our resource center. We’ve got a great book on the Exodus, called the Exodus case. And it is National Geographic Quality and paper and the color photographs. And it actually has in their photographs of the Cheery wheels when Pharaoh’s army drowned in the Red Sea.
You can see the Cheery wheels and the same spoke pattern that you’ll see in the Cairo Museum their of chariot wills of that time. Absolutely amazing. And a great book called The Exodus Case which shows the place where they really did cross. A lot of liberals have said they crossed the reed sea, which is only about six inches deep. The Bible says they went across on dry ground and Moses allowed the water to come back.
It drowned the whole Egyptian army. There are photographs, you can see them, and this is a wonderful book. The Exodus case, we have it. We also have the book, Dispensational Truth, 160. 60 charts that outline Ezekiel, Daniel, Revelation, Matthew, and many of the prophetic books. It’s exciting. One of the favorite books I have in my library, and it was done a hundred years ago, and yet it’s as though it were written yesterday. Clarence Larkin who wrote the book sure had a clear insight to the scripture, and you You will learn a great deal from the chapters of explanation with the charts, 160 charts that are incredible.
Let me encourage you to get some of these things in your library you can call in one of those things. Also, Bible and is this are supported if you want to help us. You can call and give a gift by credit card or mail a gift in to Bible. If you have your Bible there, turn it if you will to Zachariah chapter 14. Zachariah chapter 14 is an amazing chapter as the whole book of Zachariah is. This is the next of the last book in your Old Testament.
It’s Zachariah chapter 12 and it says in verse 1, Behold the day of the Lord cometh. The Day of the Lord cometh. The Day of the Lord is an expression used throughout the major minor prophets, also used in the New Testament of a thousand-year day called the Day of the Lord. It’s a very interesting phrase because it is talking about a day when Christ will rule on the earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords of the earth will finally be at peace.
It tells us here in chapter 14 of Zachary verse 9, when that happens, the Lord shall be king over all the earth, and in that day there shall be one Lord and his name one. Let me point out in verse 9 here when it says, in that day you’ll see it often, that day, that day, that day, that day, that day, that day. That day is a reference to the day of the Lord, which is a thousand year day.
Now the technical definition of the Day of the Lord is exactly the thousand year earthly reign of Christ. But in the broader sense it usually also includes the seven years of tribulation that precedes it, that prepare the way for the coming of Christ and His Kingdom here on this earth. For example, in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 when it talks about the Day of the Lord we We learned from that passage that it probably commences right after the Rapture. And the Tribulation Period is included.
Many of the Old Testament references talk about the judgments of the Tribulation Period as being a part of the Day of the Lord. So we have it in the broader sense of a thousand and seven years, but in the technical sense it’s just a thousand years. It says here in Zachariah chapter 14 in verse 2, for I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle. What an amazing statement. You know when Zachariah wrote this particular book Jerusalem was not much of a city.
It would be hard to believe that the whole world would come to war against Jerusalem. And yet today we don’t laugh, we don’t doubt that this could happen because look at the news today as Israel is in the center of the news all the time and Jerusalem is such a significant city. By the way, I just returned from Israel and Jerusalem has a population of 750,000 people. Amazing. It’s huge. Tampa, which is where I live, there’s only around 300 or 350,000 within the city limits.
Now we’re a tri-city area with St. Petersburg and Clearwater and Tampa, and there’s well over a million people in the whole area. But the Tampa, the city of Tampa only has a little over 300,000. And Jerusalem is double that. 750,000 is the population of Jerusalem today. And here it says that all nations would be brought against Jerusalem to battle. We also find that when that happens then it says in verse 3, then shall no more go forth and fight against those nations.
So this is the second coming. This is when Jesus will come back and he will interrupt Armageddon and fight against the nations that come against Jerusalem. In chapter 12, he says he will seek to destroy all those nations that come against Jerusalem. This is the battle the Bible warns about the Battle of Armageddon. It says here, then shall the Lord go forth, verse 3, and fight against those nations as when he fought in the day of battle. The day of battle there is probably a reference to the Egyptian day when Moses led the children out, and when God fought for them and destroyed the Egyptian army in the Red Sea.
And as we said a moment ago in the book we have here in our Resource Center called The Exodus Case. It’s a big volume which really is quite a remarkable book that takes you through the history of the Exodus from the Bible and from science and from actually the geography of the land. You’ll find it fast that you want to especially looking at the cherry wheels on the bottom of the red sea. You’ll notice here in verse 4 it says, his feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives.
So the Lord goes out and fights against the nations of this world, but then he touches down. This has to be a reference to God in flesh, the Lord Jesus Christ, as his feet will touch on the Mount of Olives, and it tells us that the mountain will split in half. Half will be removed to the north, half of it to the south. And of course Jerusalem will be the city where Christ rules the earth from, and He will establish His Kingdom on the Temple Mount there in Jerusalem.
Jerusalem. Right now the Mount of Olives is to the east of the city of Jerusalem and it’s going to be removed so that there will be a valley that will take us straight down to the Dead Sea. Let me read the verse again in verse 4. His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives which is before Jerusalem on the east. The Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west.
There will be a very great valley. Half of the mountains will be removed toward the north and half of it toward the south. This is the time when it says in the end of verse 5, And the Lord my God shall come and all the saints with thee. Wow, what a great verse. And by the way, this is the second coming, because when Christ comes at the rapture, he will come for his saints, F.O.R., but when he comes at the second coming, seven years later, he comes with his saints.
Please note, if you’re marking your Bible here, it says, the Lord my God shall come and all the saints with thee. That’s the second coming. So Christ comes at the Rapture for his saints and snatches this out, and we’re caught up to meet the Lord in the air. And then seven years later, we come back with him. That’s exciting. And here you have that amazing reference and the difference is made clear in so many verses. The little teeny book of Jude talks about the second coming and there again it talks about Jesus coming back with his saints.
Let me quote that verse to you from the little teeny book of Jude and It says here in verse 14 that Enoch also, the seventh from Adam prophesied of these saying, behold the Lord cometh with ten thousands plural of his saints. Well, the word with again is used and that’s the second coming. When Christ comes back with his saints, that’s the second coming. When he comes for them, that’s the Rapture. And obviously we’re getting closer and closer to this event.
And I believe that perhaps we’re very close. Maybe, who knows? Maybe he would come this year. Wouldn’t it be something? If you’re a believer, you’d be a part of a group that would never die. You’d simply be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. And according to 1 Thessalonians 4, 14, Chapter 4 verse 14, the key to being in the Rapture. The key to being saved is the simply trust Christ as your Savior. It says there that if you believe that Jesus died and rose again from the dead, that you’re going to be in the Rapture if you’re living when that event takes place.
That’s exciting and I’m Dr. Engstrom from Mrs. Bibleline. We’re going to go ahead and go to the phone lines and we hope that you’ll give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright, we’re going to go first to Dave and Plant City and Dave, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on there. Good morning, Dr. Hank. How are you today good? How are you doing, Dave? Pretty good. Thank you And I appreciate you so much taking my call Guy called in I think last week or week before and Jesus being crucial to this and you said something about Babits, I think it was on Matthew.
Do you remember what verse that was chapter 28 verse 1? Okay, says when the Sabbath ended it was Sabbath plural That then the came the first day of the week Okay. My other question is Matthew 24 verse 22, I believe it is. It says, This says that the days will be cut short except for the elect. Who would the elect be during the tribulation when all the believers are taken out of the rapture? Well, the elect are the believers who become believers during the tribulation period and those are going to be the ones who will enter into the millennium.
And if Jesus Christ did not come back and cut the tribulation period off at just seven years in length, all flesh on the earth will be destroyed. In other words, if Armageddon were allowed to be continued, mankind would annihilate himself. But Christ does come back and cut it short, and those that are saved will live into the monium, and those that are unsaved will be destroyed, and no unsaved person will enter into the monial kingdom. So that’s the beat.
What we’re talking about is the whole seven years but I don’t think much evangelism takes place in the second three and a half years. The first three and a half years are when all the evangelism takes place, a hundred point of a thousand evangelized and they’re all martyred by the middle of the tribulation period. And after that people might get saved but it doesn’t really say much about it. That can’t come through, that’s what it means by cut short, correct?
Nope. Nope. It means that it’s going to be seven years only. If Jesus didn’t come back at the end of the seven years and cut it off and end it, then if they went on to eight years or nine years, there would be nobody left on the earth alive. Okay, great. Thank you so much and God bless you. Thank you, Dave. That was Dave in Plant City. We now have Ron and Jackson, Michigan. Ron, welcome to Bibleline. Hey, Pastor, when from how are you today?
Good. I think spring is finally sprung up here. Good. I have a question. I have been reading and studying Ezekiel 38 and 39 for a while after having read some novels by Stays Copper. I was wondering what your opinion was of what you think is the time in Magog. Do you think it might happen before the rest? Oh, it’s really the same as the Battle of Armageddon. If you’ll notice, let me just give you a great verse in Ezekiel 38.
I don’t know why people miss this, but in Ezekiel 38 it says here that there’s going to be this great shaking. It says in verse 19, for in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken. Surely, there will be in that day a great shaking in the land of Israel so that the fish of the sea and the fowls of heaven and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep upon the earth.
Now get ready here, hold on. In the middle of verse 20 it says, In all the men that are upon the face of the earth, so shake at my presence. That’s the return of Christ. That’s the second coming. And most of them. So you believe that the two are synonymous. Oh yeah. And in fact, the timing on this thing is wrong because most people get the chronology in the book of Revelation wrong, And they try to match up with the seal, judgments and revelation and they therefore get it confused and think it’s going to happen in the middle.
But it’s clearly from the text itself and Ezekiel 38, the very presence of Christ when he comes back. That is the timing of the Battle of Armageddon or Maguog. Okay. I just find it a fascinating subject because you watch the news every day and it’s just fascinating to watch this. He watched this alliance between Russia and Iran slowly developing. Oh yeah. It’s gotten to the point where reading the newspapers is almost like reading your Bible these days. Well you know there, Ezekiel 38 it says Iran would be allied with Russia.
It uses the word Persia in verse 5, but Persia changed your name in 1931 to Iran. This is what we’re talking about. Well, thank you, sir. God bless you. I listen to you almost every day. And if I can’t catch you alive, we catch you on the Internet. Beautiful. Thank you, Ron. All right. And I’m glad spring is finally sprung. We are in Jackson, Michigan. We’re going to go now to Adam in Denver, Colorado, and Adam, welcome to By Wine.
You’re on the air. Thank you for taking my call, Dr.. I’ve got two questions for you. The first one is John chapter 4 verse 24. And I have an answer to what the way it’s used as a speaking in tongues verse. Can you explain that? and it’s John what John chapter four and that’s going to be used about tongues yeah that’s they use as to worship him in spirit oh I see what you mean I don’t know if it has it has nothing to do with tongues but obviously God is a spirit and obviously we have a spirit and it’s the spirit part of our makeup that allows us to have information flow back and forth from the spirit realm.
People that are unsaved receive from the Spirit well real well from Satan in his kingdom and they can become involved in the occult and Satan can really work through them very well. But the believer is said to be spiritually dead or it means cut off or separated from God and not until you’re born again do you begin to get the flow from God as the The Bible, for example, is kind of close to the unbeliever. The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God.
They are foolishness to him. Neither can he know them. So once you get saved, all of a sudden the Bible begins to be open to you and God begins to allow information to flow to you and you to him. But it’s not talking at all about tons. And by the way, nobody today is speaking in tons. The gibberish is done today, it is exactly that, it is a gibberish and it is not what the Bible teaches tongues is which it is defined in the Bible as a known language to be used to evangelize the lost.
1 Corinthians 14-22 says tongues of earth sign not to the believer but to unbelievers it is to be used to evangelize them. Right. Okay. Thank you for that. My next question is, I do have the Sculptile Bible, and in the little markings over there, it says that it is generally agreed that there is. All right. Let me just say goodbye to Miami. Miami, we are glad that you’re listening down in South Florida on the VMCU 1040. Continue to pray for us as we pray for you, and look forward to being with you on the air each and every day.
We are going to say goodbye to you as you sign off earlier than other stations. In regard to our caller here, Adam, what passage are we in now? I’m going to let you read that to a very important one. It says there in the so-called best manuscripts. These best manuscripts, I don’t believe, are the best manuscripts. They are the Sinaiticus and the Vaticanus, which are both in the custodial care of the Roman Catholic Church. These have never really been allowed to examine the originals and all people have seen their copies and I don’t know if I trust the Roman Catholic Church.
So I believe that they belong there and these manuscripts supposedly are older but older doesn’t mean that they’re more reliable. The one the Sinaiticus was found in the trash bin there in St. Catharines at Mount Sinai. I’ve been to St. Catharines and I’ve seen the room where they found this manuscript and I don’t believe it’s to be Given the attention is given hope that helps for Adam Thank you very much for your time. All right We are coming up on our break time and we’re gonna take a break and come back and go a second half hour Bibleline I hope that you’ll listen for the second half hour.
Again, we hope that everybody listening is trusted Christ and has received the wonderful gift of eternal life which is received simply by trusting Christ in death, burial and resurrection. Also, we’re listeners supported if you can help Bibleline. It’d be great if you could call in and give a gift or mail a gift to Bible to help us be able to stay on the air. We need your help and your help will assure that we can be able to stay on the air wherever you might be listening.
We’re going to take a break. We’ll come right back and do a second half hour, Bible, and so don’t go away. Stay right there and I’ll be right back right after this short break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. It’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and it’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We appreciate you and all of our listeners and we hope that you’ll continue to listen to Bibleline.
You can do it on the internet. By the way, it’s Friday, so I hope you’ll attend church someplace. But if you don’t have a church home, you can catch our worship. worship service on the internet. That’s right. We webcast that live every Sunday morning at eleven o’clock. It usually starts a few minutes after eleven, but if you’re there at eleven, you got your internet turned on and you click on the camera. When we begin the actual service, the screen will come up with the video and the audio so you’ll be able to hear and listen to Bible and on the internet.
That’s exciting. And we have people in Europe and Canada and and other places that are listening and watching our worship service live, plus those all across the United States of America. And we hope that you’ll take advantage of that, pass that word along to your friends, and we hope that you’ll catch our worship service on Sunday. Of course, if you’re in the area, you’re always welcome to drop in, or if you’re coming into Florida, we hope that you’ll come by and say hello and visit us here at Calvary, Community Church.
We are excited about the teaching of 2nd Peter. We just began that series. We’ve got four more weeks to go, two hours for every Tuesday night here in the month of April, and we’ll finish up the series on 2nd Peter. You can order that on CD or DVD. We already have 1st Peter already completed and in the can as so to speak. And You can order First Peter and you can get it on CD or DVD. You can also call and order the Gospel of John, which is the one we did prior to that.
It’s available on CD or DVD. And of course we have about 40 different series that are available. You might want to get a book called Things to Come by Dwight Pentecost, one of the most incredible books that I’ve ever read on the topic of prophecy. the different positions on different things related to prophecy and how they are right or how they are wrong and what is the correct position. It’s just wonderful and that’s a great book called Things to Come by Dwight Pentecost along with the Scovial Bibles and the many other things that we have in our resource center including our CDs, our DVDs and so on.
We’re going to return to the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour of Bibleline. So I hope you’ll stay right with us. If you haven’t helped Bibleline yet, this month call and give a gift to Bibleline today. Would you take that 800 number and just give us a call and you can do that. When you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lynch from a question, you can. pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright we’re back for now breaking this is byline. It’s wonderful to be able to be with you today and we have a lot of callers today and we’ll try to take as many of those as we possibly can. We’re going to go right to the full lines right now. We have Mary Ann and she is in Orange City, Florida and Mary Ann, welcome to Bibleline you’re on mute.
You have a question today Mary Ann? Yes I do. I’m praying. A preacher told me this. You I can’t have broke up, I didn’t hear that. I appreciate it. He said that when we pray, it should be audible and we should be talking speaking. Our mouth moving and the sound coming out. Most of my praying has been done that way. It’s from the heart, within communication. Could you tell me if the Bible has anything to say about that? Well, you don’t have to pray audible at all.
In fact, when you do, Satan then knows what you’re praying and he’ll try the hindries. So I think sometimes it’s better to pray silently and not let them double know what’s going on. I’m thinking of a reverse in Ephesians that I think might be helpful on this that you might want to read. Let me see if I can find it real quickly here at the Ephesians and it says here in chapter 5, it says, verse 19 and 20, speaking to yourselves in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
That whole passage in Ephesians 5 there is talking about doing it in your heart or in your mind so not audibly so I don’t think that this gentleman is right at all. Oh thank you very much. Oh good thank you Mary Ann that was Mary Ann in Orange City Florida we’re now going to go to Sam in Lakeland Florida and Sam welcome to Bibleline Hello, this is Sam and I say. Thank you. I have two questions like the ASHA.
The first one I want to ask you is that when you last week you were talking and you said something about the seed and you said the man that brought the seed in and I agree with you and I want to give the comment when I want to down what ASHA is right around. When I went on to see it and understand it the first seed Adam had came in with a with bad seed which and then then then laid on And see was the first first song of the bad seed then Abraham came I mean I mean three women eight women Why come in she got a man to stand and his first seed was a bad seed his second seed was a good seed Well, that’s not true.
Everybody, the Senate from Adam, has a bad seed. We’re all born of a corrupted seed, and that’s why we have to have a new birth, which is of God’s seed, which is an incorruptible birth. So everybody born of man has this seed. The point was, who is declared to be Jewish? And the lady that called in the other day pointed out that Abraham was the father of Isaac and Ishmael, but the promise was carried down through Isaac. And of course, therefore, it was the mother that made the difference because Hagar was not the one through whom the promises were going to be carried out.
She was the mother of Ishmael, but Isaac’s mother was Sarah. And so that was what determined the difference there. We now have Matthew in Spring Hill, Florida and Matthew, welcome to Viva One. Good morning Dr. Hank. I’m having trouble understanding of passage in Hebrews. Chapter 4, when it’s speaking of using an illustration of the Israelite that came out of Egypt, but then entered the rest of Canaan because of unbelief in chapter 4 verse 11. Can you explain that out for me?
Sure. What’s going on? What’s going on in Hebrews there? There are three different kinds of rest that are mentioned here and you have to be able to distinguish. The promised land was never a promise or picture of heaven but of Christian victory. many people get that wrong where they think it’s talking about heaven and that they weren’t allowed to enter heaven. They just didn’t enter into the victory of the Christian life because as believers they were still in disbelief.
So the past tense of salvation pictured to us here in this passage is the deliverance out of Egypt Egypt as God brought him out of the land of Egypt and that was a picture of redemption or salvation. Then they wandered into wilderness and died in the wilderness because of their unbelief they didn’t believe God would give them the victory of giving them the promised land. And that was a picture of a victory here in this life. He was able to defeat their enemies and have God blessed them and give them the land.
There is a future tense which is of course going to heaven. That would be the one that eventually we are going to enjoy. It says here in Hebrews chapter 4, that, remain if therefore I rest to the people of God. That’s the future rest. That’s the one where we go to heaven. So I hope that helps a little bit when you read and you discern between which rest we’re talking about here, the past rest or the present rest, the future rest you’ve got it made.
But our salvation is secure when we trust Christ the Savior. But we may or may not experience Christian victory in our daily walk unless we believe God and move forward in faith, trusting Him to guide our steps and use this as an instrument for His purpose. And eventually when we die, then it says later in the book of Revelation that we’ll rest from our labors, but the works that we’ve done here will follow us into heaven. So the future rest is the fact that we are in heaven and there’s no labor for us to do, the works that we did while we were here as a Christian will bring rewards to us in heaven forever.
Amen. All the wood is our pander. Okay, thank you Matthew. And my series on tape of the book of Hebrews, I did 10 hours on Hebrews. That’s available and I go through these passages and we explain I think very clearly so that you don’t have any problem with them. There are passages in Hebrews that Apparently are difficult to people, but they come out real clean in my Tape series. I think you’ll find that very helpful if you’re struggling with Hebrews But you’ll notice a lot of people struggle with Hebrews because if you go out looking for Commentaries on Hebrews very few people write one because apparently they don’t want to commit themselves themselves because it is considered a difficult book.
We’re now going to go to David and David is waiting in Hope, well, Virginia. So David walked on the Bible and you’re on the air. Hi, I’m David, a statement earlier regarding speaking in the tongues. It’s in the effect of the tongues that were spoken in the Bible or different than the tongues that are spoken in the church today. Could you share some light on that? Absolutely. Absolutely, the tongues today is a gibberish movement. It began a hundred years ago at Azusa Street in 1906 in California.
And that’s clearly gibberish. Nobody knows what all these people are saying. And the biblical gift though was to communicate the Gospel to the lost. Look carefully at 1 Corinthians 14 verse 9. Paul there says, except you speak by the tongue, words easy to be understood. How shall it known what is spoken? You simply speak into the air. So he was telling the Corinthian believers who had the real gift but were misusing it by displaying it in the church and not out with the lost as they should have.
They should have been speaking Greek in the Church of Corinth because they were in Greece, but they were speaking a foreign language that nobody in the church understood. That’s why the word unknown is there in that passage. It’s actually not in the Greek language, but the translators made it, they put it in italics, which means they added it. It’s not the original manuscripts. It meant that it was unknown to the hearer. The language that the Corinthians was speaking was a known foreign language, but unknown to the hearer.
He says, you’re wasting everybody’s time. Except you speak by the tongue words, easy to be understood. How shall it be known when it’s spoken? You simply speak into the air. You’re just blowing off a lot of hot air. Then he goes further later in the chapter and says, tongues were first signed, not to the believers, not to be used in church, but to unbelievers out in the highways of the byways, and it was to be used to lead them to Christ.
This modern day gibberish, nobody leads anybody to Christ. And what is really amazing is that the groups that they claim they have it, when they send their missionaries out, they send them to language school first. Isn’t that crazy? If they had the gift of language or tongues, why don’t they just say, hey, you had to Africa, you had to South America, you had to Central America, you had over here to wherever, and they should be able to just go and communicate with those people.
If they go to language school first, then they go to the jungle. He’s the author of the Ungers Bible Dictionary. Alright, you’re sure welcome. We have some good material on that. I have several CDs available that summarize the teaching of tongues and go through all the tongues passages in the Bible. We also have a book here by Merle Unger. He’s the author of the Unger’s Bible Dictionary. He also has a number of other books, excellent books, incredible writer who takes first Corinthians 12, 13 and 14 exegetes them and shows from the Greek language that this modern-day movement is absolutely a counterfeit.
It’s called The New Testament Teaching on Tongues by Merle Unger and we have it in stock right here in our bookstore. We’re now going to go to Glenn and Glenn is in Tampa, Florida and Glenn, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. I have an aunt Christian Catholic. I’m a Catholic charismatic. He’s had many discussions. I know she’s trying to convert me back to Catholicism. She talks about, I love her to death, okay? Just when I just say…
But you know, she’s trying to get me back to, there’s over a fourth. Christian church is in that if someone wants to start up a Christian church, all they All they have to do is just buy some land, put a building on it, and they’re a Christian church where the Catholics have never changed. All the prayers are the same, so on and so forth. I wish you could hear her words. But anyway, she is so strong in the Catholic.
In the Catholic being the only church, the true church, and how Protestant religion is just made up religion, not made up, but she says, I don’t final question your love for Christ and that your believer. But you need to get back to the Catholic religion and Catholic faith where it all started from. You know, why do the Catholics think that they are superior in the church? Well, it’s not really true at all and that’s really unfortunate. In fact, when you talk about the heaven change, they have changed.
They claim Peter as their first pope and yet they don’t listen to what Peter says in the Bible. If you read what Peter says, Peter teaches a different plan of salvation than the Roman Catholic Church teaches. The Roman Catholic Church teaches that they have the power to forgive sin, but Peter never said he had the power to forgive sin. Peter says in Acts 4, 12, neither is their salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.
Here you read in Acts 10, 43, Peter says, to Jesus, or Yeshua, give all the prophets witness that through His name, whosoever believeth in Him, Jesus shall receive the remission of their sins. And we can go on and on and quote what Peter has to say. They bow to the Pope and they kiss his ring and they kiss his toe. When Peter comes in Acts chapter 10 to the house of Cornelius, they all fall down and they worship Peter and Peter grabs Cornelius by the hand and pulls him up and says stand up.
I’m a man just like you. I’m not any different Peter admits that he was a sinner in need of a Savior and he was saved by trusting Christ and that everybody he preached to was a sinner in need of simply trusting Christ as Savior, but the Catholic Church teaches that you need to church to save them, not Christ. And so they have departed really big time. We have a book here called Understanding Roman Catholicism, which takes the Roman Catholic Catechism, which is about exciting to read, like you would grab the Yellow Pages and read that.
It takes 37 doctrines quotes accurately the quotes from the Catechism on 37 doctrines and then quotes scripture. You can make up your mind whether they are true to the Bible or not. They have departed severely and you will be shocked at how far they have changed. They are no longer even in the ballpark with the scripture anymore. I would recommend that book. I’ll have to order it and give it to her. She, I really don’t want to get into, she’s not argumentative, but I can’t get a word in edgewise and I can’t, it’s so hard to bring up so many, you know, you’re not supposed to call your preacher.
And she says, I don’t know what you call your preacher. I got faster. I said, yeah, I call my pastor pastor. You know, I don’t call him father. There’s only one father and she was silent on that. I know, Matthew 23 verse 9 and they don’t like to hear that. But, uh, yeah. They defend things that are contrary to scripture, which is, again, obviously they have changed. They have departed from what the scripture teaches and what Peter and Christ himself taught.
Well, I went to my stepmother’s church several months ago. My mother passed away and every year she praised my, tried to praise my mother out and I go and respect for that and I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing or not but she knows my feelings towards that. The preach started preaching about how Genesis, well, I don’t really think the things that Genesis really happened as they say they happened. And I know that there are some things in Romans, impossible that could have happened.
Me and my wife looked at each other, I almost walked out. Can you imagine a priest telling a congregation that he knows that in Romans, he didn’t specify what scripture it was, that it was impossible what was written in Romans to happen. It was impossible. Can you imagine a priest saying that to their congregation? They’re basically saying, well, what’s in the Bible? Really isn’t true. Whoever wrote it in there just vaguely added this or added that. After I can’t imagine a priest saying that to their congregation.
My daughter who’s 14, she left. She said, Daddy, I’m confused. Is that true? What he said? I said, absolutely not. I tried to get in touch with the priest, but he would not call me back. Yeah, they believe that a lot of what is in Genesis is the myth, and it’s just God accommodating people to whatever fairytales they believe. But obviously the Bible is all true or it’s all false. there’s no middle ground. Well, I’m going to have to, what do these days, I will have to get into a discussion about some of the things that they change.
I just… Absolutely. In fact, this series that we’re teaching right now on 1st and 2nd Peter is so powerful, because if you go back and see what Peter taught and what has happened today with the church that actually claims that they’re the followers of Peter, they’re not even close And Peter would stand up today in condemning because he says, if you’d only read my books, you would realize that you’re not even close to what I taught. And yet you claim that you’re the followers of the Apostle Peter.
And she stresses that there’s 4,000 sermons a day. They go to church every single day pastor. I’m not saying that wrong, but she emphasizes that every day we would never think about missing a service at church every day. And she pushes that like it’s needed to have that and they take the body and blood every single day. And they would just want to be closer to Christ. I assume we all do, but it sounds like they’re working their way.
And of course the mass gets them forgiven up to the latest mass. So they’re apparently worried about maybe if they die during the week and they haven’t been the mass that they have a lot of unforgiven sins to deal with. Of course that’s totally false as well. Thank you for your call. we’re going to move on to the next color but we’ll pray for you as you attempt to bring them to the truth. We’re going to go to Carl in Tampa for the Carl welcome to by the way.
I’ve got Pat to hang. I need to ask you a question and I’ll just hang up and listen to it to you. Somebody asked me today about The word antichrist is not found in the book of Revelation. It’s really only found in 1 John. If you’re looking for the word antichrist, there’s lots of different kinds of things.
I’ve written an article on the Antichrist and I list, I think, about two dozen names for him in the Bible. He’s called the Son of Perdition. He’s called, of course, the Antichrist and he’s called the Beast. And there’s a lot of names for him, but it is not found in the book Revelation. But the Beast is the Antichrist and you’ll find that throughout. We’re going to go to our next color and that is Dave in St. Petersburg. Dave, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the end.
Yes, after a couple of things, I’ll be quick because I don’t know if I’m going to say it in time. Okay, Catholics are the church of this world. But yet remember that Christians, we are not of this world. And as far as the way to call up on prayer, actually the better passage is to learn how to pray or be Matthew 6, 5, through 13. That’s Jesus speaking telling us how to pray. And that’s a good one because it’s all about praying in your closet which is talking about privately or silently, not so much.
not that sitting out there screaming in the streets like the hypocrites and exactly beautiful and also the question when is the piece of trumpets this year what they uh… i’d have a look at my calendar but it’s is probably prominently on the sometime in september though i’m sure but then it is around the russia china that time or or russia china is uh… piece of trouble okay i don’t know what you’re excellent they thank you that was dave and we’re now going to go to larry in st.
Pete and Larry welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air hi good morning doctor Hank yeah I caught the end of your program yesterday Yesterday, ironically, or coincidentally, on my way to a map, I’m a catboy. And I heard the explanation of a re-sacrifice or kind of a re-cruise-affliction, as it were. And that’s not what we believe. And I thought that that had been sort of put the rest. But I see it’s still out there. And if you would, by way of example, I might be able to explain how more of the last supper is, is where we look for Jesus to be present with us.
And that’s what it’s more about, a made presence. On Holy Thursday, the day before he was to be this side, he took the bread. He took the bread in the cup and reaching forward into good Friday into his crucifixion as only he could, he made presents at sacrifice at that table with the Twelve. And that’s where we are made present at the Mass. That’s the present. Not the crucifixion the next day, but where he makes present, this is my body.
It will be given up for you. This is my blood, which will be shed for you. Now they didn’t know what to do. know what that mean up even some Catholics but we come to understand that there is no fact nearly made present thank you Larry for sharing that amount of time, but the catechism is what I’m quoting and it says that it is the sacrifice again of Christ to pay for sin. So we’ll talk about it maybe Monday when we get back.
We have to run, the time is gone, we have people still waiting to get on the line with us and we won’t be able to take it because we’re out of time. But again, give us a call here at Bibleline.
