Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you each and every day, Monday through Friday as we come to you live from our studios in Tampa, Florida from the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor.
By the way, this Sunday would be a great Sunday to come visit if you want to come by. We’re having our third Sunday dinner. So come at 10.30. Be my guest for the service and then stay for the dinner. of great home cooked food and a great time of fellowship and you’re welcome to bring your family, your appetite, your Bible and join us for the 1030 service and also for the dinner that we’ll follow. You can also come at 9.15 and join our adult classes and put your children in the children’s classes and also that afternoon on the 18th that’s this coming Sunday we’ll have a baptism and if you’ve not been baptized since you’ve been saved you ought to as a believer as Christ has given us two ordinances that we should observe, water baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
If you don’t have a church home that will baptize you, we’ll be glad to include you this Sunday in our baptism in the afternoon at three o’clock. So call and get your name on the list and get the information you need and we would invite you to just make it a day and come and be with us and be baptized in the afternoon as well. We are excited about having some of these great classes that we have finished. The Bible is the Word of God and we need to know it, especially in these days.
We just finished 1 Peter, 10 hours of teaching, 2 Peter, 10 hours of teaching. We just finished prior to that. The Gospel of John, 20 hours of teaching, all available on CB and DVD. You’ll find it will be very powerful to watch those and listen to those and use them with your family. Maybe facilitate a Sunday school class or a Bible study or a home study. I think you’ll really enjoy. Also you might want to get some of the other 40 or so sets of teachings we have on CD.
We have the Book of Revelation. We have the Book of Daniel. We have the Book of Romans, the Book of Hebrews, the Book of Jude and many, many more. I think you’re going to like getting these. And those who start usually want to get more because they find that it’s an easy way to learn the Bible as we go verse by verse with you explaining the passages right out of the Bible. Also, we have a resource center with many other books and Bibles.
And we recommend that you call and get a resource sheet sent to you for your charge. And then you’ll be able to know what we have. And you can order off that sheet by calling in on our 800 number and or you can go to our online bookstore on the internet at BibleLineMinistries.org and get the look at our resource center right there on the internet. By the way, our television programs are there on the internet. Our radio programs are there.
This program is streamed right now to the internet. Also, you can get our worship services which are really a blessing. We have a fellow that is now just retired from the U.S. Army who is in Afghanistan and he tells us that his whole group would huddle around the computer, the laptop, and watch our worship services in Afghanistan. He says that really carried them through. They are so grateful and we’re excited about how many in the military and many missionaries and many family members that are in foreign countries are able to watch and listen to Bibleline wherever they might be.
We have emails from all over the world from many African countries, Asia and it’s exciting even Australia. And you know, people are finding Bibleline and many times it might be that you’re passing the word along to a relative who is living in some foreign country or if you have missionaries, Let them know, a lot of them find Bibleline of fresh air to themselves as they hear the Word of God taught and it’s a challenge to them and encourages them.
And so, past that word law and the family members, scattered out the world or around the country, let them know about the Bibleline program. And of course we hope that you’ll combine visitors sometime if you’re in the area and if you live in the area you certainly are welcome to just drop on in. But if you come in from out of state make sure you take that extra minute to visit. Some combine worship with us while they’re in town and we hope that you’ll be the same.
We’re going to get into the Bible and we’ll take our callers if you’d like to call in the numbers 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m going to talk a little bit about the phrase be converted because you know a lot of the terms that we use are actually misleading to the hearer and are often not used in the way the Bible intended them to be used. What does it mean to be converted? Well I believe that there has been a great deal of confusion centered around the term conversion.
I know some of angels say, you must be converted. And then they define it as you have to change. And what they’re saying is that you have to change your life in order to be saved which is works, which is really contrary to the scripture. And we know much of this confusion is really serving Satan’s purpose as we find in 2 Corinthians 4-4 that Satan is the God of this world and he blinds the minds of those which believe not, lest the light of the Gores, God, and the Christ who is the image of God should shine unto them.
So Satan delights when bad terms or bad use of terminology is used. Then writer had it right when he says, What can wash away my sin? The answer is nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood of Jesus could wash away my sin or yours. Human effort, human conduct cannot contribute to our salvation at all. Faith alone in the shed blood of Jesus Christ determines one’s eternal destiny. Salvation is not based upon a patient person’s behavior, not based upon a person’s conduct, not based upon a person’s works.
The Bible is quilt clear in Romans 4, 5. Look it up. One of the great verses in the book of Romans, chapter 4 verse 5 says, but to him the worketh not but believeeth on him that justified him, Godly that’s Jesus, his faith in Christ or Jesus is counted for righteousness. Yet there are those who would sing the words to a great hymn like the one we just mentioned what can wash away by sin and the answer being nothing but the blood of Jesus Christ and they’ll sing that hymn at the same time contradict these words by having a faulty view of the doctrine of conversion.
They would say something like nothing but the blood of Jesus could wash away by sin, but you must change the way you’re living if you’re going to go to heaven. You must be converted. You must change. Unwittingly, perhaps a Christian would therefore be teaching human works for salvation, contradicting the clear scriptures that salvation is not of works. What does Danny Man should boast? Ephesians 2-9. Salvation is not dependent upon what we have done or what we will do, nor is it dependent upon our future or our past.
It is dependent upon what Jesus Christ has accomplished or has done for us on the cross of Calorie. The Bible is clear that those who believe or trust on Christ are saved and then are not condemned and will go to heaven and those who do not believe on Christ are lost, condemned and are headed for hell. And of course if they trust Christ before they die they will be able to enter heaven. Well what about conversion? When does conversion take place?
Be converted. What does that mean? And when does it really take place? Well guess what? The apostle Peter was not converted until three years after he was saved. You heard that right. Peter didn’t get converted till three years after he was saved. After Peter the Apostle had already been saved for three years, he was then converted. Are you shocked by this? Well, what does this do to the meaning of the phrase be converted? Shall we tell only saved persons to be converted?
And then what does it mean? Why should a saved person need to be converted? Well, let’s take a look. First, let’s look at Peter’s conversion. Peter’s salvation, in contrast, occurred after the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. We have Andrew getting saved first, and he leads his brother Peter the Christ. And the Gospel of John says in chapter 1, Andrew, about Andrew, he first finds his own brother Simon and says to Peter, we have found him a psalm, which is being interpreted to Christ, that he brought him.
That is how Peter got saved. Peter’s conversion is mentioned after the Lord of Institute, the Lord’s Supper, and just before Christ enters into the Garden of Yosemite, the night of the betrayal as Christ is betrayed at very night and the next day he goes to the cross. Look at Luke 22-32, here Jesus says, the night of the betrayal, I have prayed for the Peter that thy faith fail not, and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” Wow! Actually, Peter became converted after the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Peter’s conversion after the resurrection of Jesus Christ had the new Peter’s Christian life and not his salvation. At least three years had passed since Peter had trusted Christ as his Savior with his brother and your lithium to Christ. Peter later testified that the way we live our lives has nothing to do with our salvation. In 1 Peter 1, 18 and 19 we find that Peter says, you must know or recognize that you are redeemed, that is, ransomed from the useless, fruitless way of your living your life inherited from your forefathers, not with corruptible things such the silver and gold, but you were purchased or redeemed with the precious blood of Christ the Messiah.
Then I’d like that of a lamb without blemish and without spot. Well we know that the phrase be converted is occasionally used as salvation but very seldom. And when it is, it is defined as it is in Matthew 18 to become like a little child. You have to be converted in that way. What do we know about little children? They’re totally dependent upon their parents for their survival. And in order to be saved, you have to be totally dependent upon God to save you through Christ death and shed blood and not rely on anything of yourself.
It’s amazing how little children cannot survive without their moms and dads. And we cannot be saved without our Heavenly Father providing the salvation that He provides through faith in Christ. When somebody asks me, Hank, when were you converted, I usually say about a year after I got saved. Usually I see a facial expression that tells me they have never heard anything like that before. And so I tell them, yeah, I got saved and then about a year later I got converted.
I didn’t dedicate my life to serve the Lord and my life didn’t really change until I made that second decision to become a servant of Christ, to become a disciple of Christ, to serve the Lord. The night I trusted Christ I had been so turned off by the church that I had been raised in that I heard the gospel message of salvation free. And I remember saying to God, I’ll take you up on your free gift, but I will never serve you.
Well, little did I realize that when you get saved, God the Holy Spirit comes and involves in your body and God began to work on me as the Bible says that God becomes your Father and he will discipline his sons and daughters and he received into his family by the new birth and God began to work on me. And over that next year God brought me to my knees and in my dorm room at the University of Florida all by myself I got to my knees and I dedicated my life to Christ.
I said, Lord, I will serve you from this day forward. And I have ever since that day. And the Lord followed me up. Nobody even knew I was saved. I was a secret believer for over a year. And once I made that second decision, I was converted. But I was not converted when I got saved. When I got saved, I was a child of God and I was delivered from the penalty of sin and death and assured of going to heaven and had eternal life, but not until a year later did I experience God working in my life and his blessings and the joy that comes by living for Christ.
So are you converted? Well, if you haven’t decided to become a disciple and let your life be transformed to be used of God as a servant of Christ, then you’re not converted even though you might be saved. You’re saved by trusting of what Christ did for you, but conversion has to do with your showing God how grateful you are by living your life for him not to be saved but because you are So I was saved and then a year later.
I became converted and with many people I think they never get converted they get saved, but they don’t get converted and for a lot of people that presents a Confusion because evangelists use conversion to mean you must change your life to be saved, which is completely contrary to the scripture. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline. We’re going to go to our phone lines. We have people calling in from all over. We have Matthew down in Sarasota, Florida. And Matthew, welcome to Bibleline.
You’re on the air. Hi, Dr. Lindstrom. My name is Matthew of Sarasota. And I just had a question for you. I’ve got a friend of mine. We’ve had kind of a, I just come up and see. And he comes from a kind of a Calvinistic background and talked about salvation. He says that we don’t have a choice as far as who gets saved and what not as our, he believes we’re predestined to get saved. And I thought that we always had a free will and that even back in the Garden of Eden when Eve made the decision to sin, she made that choice.
Likewise I thought even when we spread the gospel to friends or whatever, they have the the free law to either choose a salvation or reject it. He says that we’re all predestined beforehand. Well, you’re exactly right and he is wrong. And let me give you a great verse. Here’s the problem with people like your friends is they read part of a verse and they don’t really read the whole thing. Let me give you 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 13 where here Paul the Apostle writes and He says, we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation.
Now these will stop right there, but if you read the rest of the verse, it says, God, from the beginning hath chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit, that’s God’s part, and your part, belief of the truth. You have to believe the truth. The next verse talks about believing the gospel and when you believe the gospel then you become saved And God does his part the sanctification of the spirit it means only spirit declares you and makes you Pure and holy in God’s sight based upon the fact that Christ died for you and paid your total sin dead at the cross So we are chosen based upon our belief So, if you become a believer, then you become one of the chosen.
But if you never become a believer, then obviously you’ll never become one of the chosen that we’ll go to heaven. God elects to save all that we’d believe. It’s in John 3 16. D.L. Moody said it as simply as I’ve ever heard it. He says, the Whosoever wills are the elect, and the Whosoever won’ts are the non-elect. And in John 3 16, it says, for God’s love the world, that’s the whole human race, that he gave his only gotten son that’s jesus christ that who’s so ever and there is anyone and everyone that would believe on jesus christ would not perish but they’d have everlasting life but the negative is implied there that if you don’t believe you will perish and you’ll not have eternal life so the choice is yours yeah that’s what i felt that that got didn’t make us robots in he gave us a free look at you sim or not
and so there was a decision on our part. Absolutely. And throughout the Bible there’s no verse where it tells us that God has made the choice for us. What God has done is He’s chosen before the foundation of the world to save all that would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. And He chose before the foundation of the world to not save those who do not believe on Christ. And so there is one unpartable sin and that’s the die without trusting Christ as your Savior.
Very good. Thank you so much. You’re welcome Matthew and call again if you get a particular verse that he gives you that you can’t handle. And thank you for calling in. We have Linda in Dunedin, Florida. Linda, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. You’re on the air, Linda. Good morning, Pastor. How are you? It’s Linda and Dunedin. Well good morning and welcome. You have a question? Yes sir I do. I know God’s will for me is Jesus. How do I know what his gift in me is so that I might glorify him?
Well there are 19 gifts of the Spirit that are given in the Bible and what you need to do is test out what you have. If you You basically see a need in a particular area and then you attempt to meet that need. You’re drawn to do that and then you find out that in doing so you have the ability to meet that need. You probably have that gift. Some people say, I think I’d like to preach but they don’t have anybody listening to them and they don’t have any skills in that area.
So obviously that’s not their gift. whatever area you’re gifted in, you’ll be able to function and see God bless you. So you just need to start doing it. And we have a wonderful book at our Resource Center here called 19. It’s a great gift for the Spirit. And some of those, of course, have ceased. They were temporary in nature. Like the spectacular ones of healing and tongues and prophecy and knowledge, those were all temporary gifts. But there are many gifts still remaining, and everybody has at least one gift, and you need to find out what it is.
And so as I began to see a need to win people to Christ, and I went after people and tried to share the gospel, I found I was effective. So I believe. I believe that one of my gifts is evangelism, that I’m able to lead people to Christ. But again, what is interesting is even if you don’t have a particular gift, it doesn’t mean you’re not to function in that area. In other words, if you don’t have the gift of evangelism, you’re still to give out the gospel.
If you don’t have the gift of giving, which is one of the wonderful gifts of the Spirit, you’re still required to give. If you don’t have the gift of helps, you’re still required. help people and so on and so on. So it doesn’t mean that you operate exclusively in the area of the gift that you have, but we’re to function all the gifts, but we’ll excel and be fruitful in the area where God has gifted us. And you just start trying what you feel God has given you.
He shows you a need and you have a desire within you to meet that need. And then when you try it, you find you’re effective and you have the ability to meet that need and if that’s the case then you have the shoe that fits your foot and you have the gift, whatever it is. Hopefully that helps you Linda. And thank you very much Linda, must have hung up. We are inviting you to call in at 1-800-576-3771 and talk to us here on Bible and again we want you to know that we are listeners supported and I want to thank God for all of you who listen who pray for and give the Bible and because you are the ones that keep us on the air.
We really don’t have any other means of support. This whole ministry of Bible and this miracle and we really run a low budget operation that’s reaching way out beyond the walls of where we have our studios here in Tampa, Florida to the world by internet and all over the country by actual radio. And we’re excited about that. God has been blessing. And we hear people. We had a guy come by yesterday that got saved by listening to Bible. And he just said, this program is the greatest thing in the world.
And what a pleasure to meet people like that is they come in and meet us and visit our resource center. And many times leave a gift to help Bible and stay on the air. And we’re just excited about that. And you can be a part of Bible and also by calling in and giving you gift, a Bible and by credit card, or calling in and asking for it, I’m going to be sent where you can mail your gift into Bible and.
We have a caller that’s anonymous and he’s calling in from somewhere in Florida. That’s all I know. And Mr. Anonymous, you’re on the air. Go ahead. Oh, good morning, Dr. Haynes. I have a question about our law. And in this regard, the scripture, when we bring our gifts before the Lord on his altar, and we have odds against somebody.
I wanna pray for my daughter who’s in an executive position, and there’s some sabotaging against her, and so I wanna pray for protection and stuff. But at the same time, I have discord with my husband because he has various different things, and basically is always in denial and circles it back on you and without going in the elaborate detail. It’s very frustrating and it raises your gander. Sure. And being used in denial, I can’t even like apologize or go there with them because it’s as if it’s just always you.
And so I’m looking at how can I pray? Well, I think first of all, 1st John 1, 8 and 9 talk about how to remain in fellowship with the Lord as a believer. And it talks about how that we sinned, sometimes in words or thoughts or deeds, or in actually breaking a commandment or principle that God has given with his word, or in failing sometimes to do those things which were responsible to do as a believer. 1st on 1 9 says, If we confess, and that word means to name by name those things which we know to be wrong in our life, that God is then faithful to forgive that sin that you name and also to cleanse you from all unrighteousness which means he wipes the slate clean.
And that of course allows you to have that platform to enter into the presence of the Lord and lay your petitions down before him. And I think that’s really where you need to go. say Lord, here I am, I want to. He confessed my sins as a believer and claimed the promise of forgiveness and cleansing, and then petition him with whatever petitions you have and trust that God will hear and answer your prayers. Thank you. That’s basically what I thought.
But then I felt, you know, when you read it, it’s like go there to your brother and make him in. But it’s like it just goes back in a circle because it says if it doesn’t exist and it’s all on you. And this person has a self-centered personality and probably addiction personality or closet addiction or you know like a dry, you know like the dry drugs. I’m going to be praying for you. I’m out of time here. We’re going to have to take our break.
But Linda just followed that advice on Mr. Misanomas, whoever you are. And we’re going to go to break and we’ll come back into a second half hour of Bible And we hope that you’ll stay with us as we do Bible and Part 2 in just a minute. So go away. I’m Dr. Englund’s German will be right back after this short break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr.
Englund’s German. It’s great to be with you. We really look forward to it every day. This is Wednesday. And of course, we invite you to tune us in each and every day. And if you have internet, you can go back and hear this program and others as often as you like to simply go to BibleLineMinistries.org and click on the Spinning Globe and you’ll get radio. Click on the TV set, you’ll get television, click on the camera, and you’ll get our worship services.
Click on the online bookstore and you’ll have our resource center. So much there and I hope you’ll take advantage of all the things. We have their articles that I’ve written, questions that I’ve answered. We’ve got the Bible with the strong recordings that you can search. We have books online that you can read and print out right off of our website. We have a quiz there on how you can go to heaven, the same quiz we make available for you to buy to lead people to Christ and so many other things.
It’s really a website that’s going to keep you busy, busy, busy, busy, busy. I hope you will take advantage of our website by going there and taking a look at all the different things that are available to you. That’s BibleLineMinistries.org. Again, we are listeners supported and we thank God for all of you who pray for and give to Bible and because you and I have a real partnership here as we hook up together to carry out the mission that God has given us as Christians to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
And that is what we are trying to do here at Bible End. We are trying to reach out as far as we can and give out a clear message about salvation because I am afraid that a lot of people are hearing a false message, a confused message, and a cursed message because it adds an element of works to what Christ did and that cancels out the message altogether. It says over in 1 Corinthians 1 17 Paul says, Christ sent me to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
So if we’re not careful by words that we use, we can pollute or pervert the gospel message by adding works to it which will cancel out its value and it will not save anybody if they’re trusting in anything of self and not trusting Jesus Christ alone as the means of their salvation. Please tune in as often as you can and tell your friends about it and help us by telling your missionaries we want missionaries to be aware of Bible and let it be a blessing to them wherever they might be.
We know we have missionaries in Korea, in Japan, in Africa that are listening to Bible and down in South America and in Peru are listening to Bible and we’re going to be joining stations that have been on break and do a second half hour of Bible and so I hope you’ll keep your radio tuned right where it is and here we go. If you’d like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lynch from a question, you can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lynch from… Alright, we’re back for a break. This is Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. From our studios here at the Calvary Community Church, we’re on the pastor. And we’d love to meet you. You’re always welcome to come by if you’re in driving distance. If not, you can visit us on the internet and that’s BibleLineMinistries.org. Give us a visit. Come by and see us either in person or visit us on the internet.
There you can find our radio programs. Our television programs, our worship services, our online bookstore, everything is there on the website. Online books, we have the Bible with the electronics and coordinates for you to search. Articles have written questions I’ve answered and you can spend your life on our website. We’ve got so much there for you. Take a look and enjoy the Bibleline website, BibleLineMinistries.org. And I think you’ll find that very, very helpful. And again, if you could help us, we’re listeners supported.
And we would not be on the air if we’re not for the partnership we have with you, the listener and us. Because we can be your voice, we can be that spokesperson for you to get that gospel out, but we need your financial help to make sure that it happens because the radio bills have to be paid and the other expenses. And we’re as lean as we can get because we don’t pay any salaries. We have an all volunteer force here, including myself.
We all volunteer to make sure Bible end happens. We feel like there’s an urgency. There’s such a need and the people need what Bible end is offering. We have people tell me that they have learned more in 30 days from Bible end than they have in 30 years in their church. That’s a sad commentary on their church, whatever it was, or is. But obviously we’re providing for people an answer to their questions. I remember as a brand new believer having so many questions.
I was so inquisitive. And I didn’t know where to turn. You know, it really is tough to find a source where you get your questions answered and you’ll get your answer right now normally. We don’t have all the answers and we’ll tell you if we don’t have the answer and we’ll try to research it and get it for you. oftentimes we’ll give you a scripture verse and answer right from the Bible right now. And I hope that makes Bible and an appealing ministry to you and many people tell me they listen every day.
God bless you. And what an encouragement it is to us to hear you tell us that. That it’s a blessing to you and that you listen every day. Obviously you wouldn’t listen every day if this program wasn’t a blessing to you. And God bless you. Thank you for your input back to us as that really keeps us going here and encouraged. And your financial help keeps us on the air because that’s how we’re able to pay the bills. God bless you.
And we could use your help right now. If you would help Bible and right now, it’d be wonderful. You know, this whole country right now, because of the price of gas and other prices rising, is experiencing a shortage in giving. I understand for many Christian ministries and we’re no exception. And so if you want to help us make up for that shortfall and make sure that we’re able to stay on the air with Bible and in your area, your gift would be greatly appreciated.
Just call and offer a gift over the phone by credit card or call and ask for an envelope to be said. Also while you’re at it, ask for a resource sheet to be sent so you can look at all the things that are at our resource center. You can also see them on our website on the online bookstore. Now have buddy in Jacksonville Florida and buddy welcome to Bibleline you are on the air Thanks, sir. I’d like to start out with an avenue.
They’ve been crashed very new anyhow good In six and seven okay, you could get me understand that a little bit Appreciate it and I’ll hang up good enough. I’ll be Turning there right now, and we’ll try to give you an answer. Thank you buddy in Jacksonville, Florida asking about Romans chapter 10 verses 5 and 6. Here it says that Moses described it the righteousness which is of the law and of course that’s the Ten Commandments plus the Many other Commandments and nobody has ever been able to keep the law and so verse 4 tells us that the righteousness of the law demanded is actually satisfied in Christ and when you believe on Christ the Bible declares you as righteous as the law had demanded based upon what Christ did for you.
Verse 5 goes on to say that the man which doeth those things shall live by them. In other words, if you are trying to be saved by the law, then you’ll be lost because you’ll never be able to keep the law in order to be saved. Verse 6 says, but the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise. And that is the righteousness which is the faith which is when you trust in the substitutionary payment that Christ made for you, buddy.
God credits your faith in Christ for righteousness. Let me refer you back to chapter 4 verse 5 of Romans where it says to him that worketh not but believeth on him that is on Christ who justified them godly. His faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. So your faith is counted for righteousness when you put your faith in Christ as your savior and that’s what it’s talking about here. So it says in verse 5. 6. But the righteousness which is of faith, that means when you place your faith in Christ, then you have God’s righteousness imputed to accredit your account and speaketh on this wise.
Say, not in nine heart, who shall ascend into heaven? That is to bring Christ down from above. Or who shall descend into the deep? That is to bring Christ again from the dead. But what’s saying to it? The Word is nigh unto the, even in my mouth and in my heart, that is the Word of faith which we preach. That is, if you trust Christ as your Savior, if you believe that He died and was raised again from the dead, God says that you’ll be saved.
I hope that helps, Buddy. But He’s talking about the law which cannot save. Christ, who is the one who fulfilled all the law, and credits His righteousness to us, when we trust Him as our Savior. We’re now going to go to John in Brandon, Florida. John, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Yes, good morning. An enormous amount from you and your ministry in a few months and I have been in 10, 20 years. Thank you for that.
Just two things. I didn’t know if you knew Pastor and if you knew him or not. I don’t think I really knew him but I led the Christ Tim Brown was it the one that founded about shows years ago I led him to Christ and of course my heart was said but I heard the news on the air about the plane crash and losing him and his son and you’re obviously your congregation if you go there has suffered a tremendous loss and it is so sorry.
The other day and one of the guys that mentioned to another one of the guys that had a question about I guess basically losing your salvation you can lose your salvation and he thought that if you continue to sin after you’re saved the particular man and the other day I heard you say something about Hebrews 1026 and that is a I looked that up I have never seen that scripture that is so powerful is there in In other scripture I can show him to back up that once you’re saved you’re always saved.
Well there’s lots of wonderful verses that say that. My favorite are so simple. It’s John 637 where Jesus says, Him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. That means that in no circumstance would Christ ever cast out a believer for any reason. So there’s nothing that you could ever do that would cause Christ to cast you out. There’s no exception clause. And then even better than that is verse 39 of John 6, where Jesus says, this is the Father’s will which has sent me that of all which have given me I should lose none, but should raise them all up again at the last day.
So he’s saying that not one would be lost because Christ is the one who keeps us saved. And if one person in all of history were ever lost, Christ would be a liar. the Bible would be wrong. So obviously no one can be lost once they’d clearly become saved. And God is the one that keeps us saved. And John 1028, Christ says, I give them them eternal life, they’ll never perish, which means they’ll never go to hell. And then it says, and neither shall any pluck them out of my hand.
So Christ is holding you and keeping you saved, and no one is able to pluck you out of the head of Christ who is God and flesh. So if they were powerful enough to do that that have to be more powerful than God. No one is able to pluck you out. And then I love Romans 838 and 39. I’m persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels or principalities nor things present nor things to come nor heist or death nor any other creature or creation shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
Romans 838 and 39. Can’t be lost yet. to become safe. And the Catholics, they feel that they need to work continually and we have to build our death. Yes, exactly because they lose it as soon as they leave the church and leave Mass. The losers always have to go back to Mass again to get it back again. And it’s a salvation in increments of installment and it’s totally wrong. And that’s why they do the last rites in the hospital?
Exactly because they’re trying to get the sins paid up since the last mass actually the last rites is the last mass that the priest will perform And that’s either just before you die or right after you die They’ll perform another mass take care of those last minute sins, but of course the mass cannot take away your sin It’s only Christ one time death at the cross That takes away take care of your sin of mine Here you are most welcome and thanks for calling in.
Alright, that was John in Brandon, Florida. We’re now going to go to Carl in Tampa, Florida. Carl, welcome to Bible Ed. You are on the air. Yes, Dr. Hank. I was reading yesterday and it was said in Luke 3 16, you know, talks about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire and Jesus will bring. Yes. And they had it somewhere. I was looking in and it says to them, I’m going to bat his on fire. Is that what they’re talking about?
Baptism of Fire? Because Jesus talked about the fact that John the Baptist, the Bebaptist of the Holy Spirit and with fire. Could you explain that? And I’ll just go ahead and do that. The best? The baptism of fire you don’t want, and that’s really hell. You are going to be baptized either with the Holy Spirit, which is what occurs for the the believer who becomes saved. You are placed into the body of Christ by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which makes you God’s position forever and ever and ever.
But the baptism of fire is the casting of the unbeliever into hell where there will be immersed in the flames of hell fire forever and ever and ever. I’m going to turn to the passage in Matthew chapter 3 where it talks about the baptism of fire and it says they are quite clearly that as soon as it mentions that baptism of fire which Christ will be the baptizer of those that are lost it says here that he will burn up the chafe with unquenchable fire.
The unquenchable fire is the fire of hell that will never go out and those that are lost will experience the baptism of fire. Some churches advertise that they offer the baptism of fire at that church and I don’t think I’d want to go to a church like that because I think some of those churches deliver. You’ll really wind up going to hell if you believe their doctrine. So watch out. You don’t want the baptism of fire. It’s either one or the other.
Every believer receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit at the moment they believe. And if you die without Christ, then Christ will baptize you with fire, which is the casting of you in the everlasting link of fire, the eternal health. Thank you for your call. We’re now going to go to Price in Chester, Virginia. Price, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. You have to turn your radio down, Price, but you’re on the air right now. Okay, good. Luke, my question comes from the survey by Luke in Luke 36 to 47 and about being watchful.
And the project gets me with the ones they’ve always saved. I’m listening to you. I learn a lot. I won’t agree with anything, but I learn a lot. But I want you to touch on this for me. The 46th, 12, 46th, where it says the master of the survey will come on a date when he When he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of, he will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.
Well, obviously if you’re an unbeliever when Christ returns, that’s exactly what’s going to happen to you. When it talks about a servant there, he’s talking about Christ coming back at the end of the tribulation period, seven years after the rapture, and Christ is king, and so everybody on the planet is his subject or his servant and if you’re not a believer then you’ll be given your place with the unbelievers in caste into the everlasting lake of fire so it’s not talking about a believer losing their salvation with somebody who will be uh…
cut off from god who is not a believer and we know that when christ comes back every unbeliever on the earth I will be slain by Christ and they’ll all be cast into hell. Only believers will live into that thousand-year kingdom that Christ will establish. All unbelievers will be slain. Okay, but he calls him a servant. Those servant makes an unbeliever, right? No, it doesn’t. Again, I just said that a moment ago. I said, Christ, when he comes back as king, everybody on the planet is his servant.
Whether he is a believer or not, is not the point. He is an unbeliever because that’s why he’s cast into hell. Christ promises that he will be a believer. promises that he would never cast a believer for any reason and to hell, John 637. So if someone is cast into hell, they have to be an unbeliever. If you go to the simple verse in John 637 and interpret the difficult verse in Luke 12 in the light of that, you know it cannot be a safe person being cast to hell because Christ will not cast out one.
No, not one would be lost according to Christ’s own words. So this is the lost person and he separates the sheep from the goats, the saved from the lost and the second coming and the lost are appointed to replace with the unbelievers in hell. Okay, thank you. You’re welcome, Price, and that’s called rightly dividing the word of truth. Second Timothy, 215 says that requires study. Study to show thyself approved unto God as a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
the truths of God’s Word in right order. Now, if you want one of the great rules of hermeneutics or the science of interpreting your Bible, you always interpret a difficult verse in the light of a clear one. And if you do, you’ll never come out wrong. And that is you have a clear verse in John 637, John 639, that Jesus promised not one saved person would ever be cast out for any reason. and that he would not lose one saved person that they would all be saved and resurrected one day at the day of resurrection.
So if someone is cast out and miscast in the hell, they have to be an unbeliever because Christ will never cast out a believer. And of course, the word servant is used in Matthew chapter 25 as well of a person who is lost and goes to hell, but he is a servant of the king because the king is over everybody, sovereign over everybody in this kingdom. And if you’re an unbeliever, a servant who is an unbeliever will be cast out, a servant who is a believer will be invited to come on in.
So it’s rightly divided in the word, you have to pay attention and study to be able We have an offer question from Archbold, Ohio. Mary calls in and she says, can someone who is truly safe, lose their salvation? That’s the same question we’ve been answering here and they answer Mary is of course not. Jesus says in John 637, him that come with me, I will know why it’s cast out. Let me give you 1 John 513, which is what I call the written guarantee.
That says these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know K-N-O-W, not hope or guess or perhaps or maybe. You can know that you H-A-V-E have present tense verb everlasting life. So the Bible says you can know that you have eternal life. If Mary, you have everlasting life right now, what kind of life will you have tomorrow? Well, it will still be everlasting, won’t it? What about next week?
be everlasting. What about next year? It will still be everlasting. Mary, what about 100 years now? It will still be everlasting. So if you once possess everlasting life, it will be everlasting tomorrow, next week, next year, 10 years now, 100 years from now, a million years from now. Once you receive eternal life, it’s eternal life, or he named it wrong. Maybe he should have called it temporary life, or probation, or trial period. But God didn’t say I’m going to give you a trial period or I’m going to take my salvation back.
He gives eternal life and he says that nothing can be changed about that one side happens. Mary, thank you for that call and that offer a question from Ohio. We now have Carlos in Tampa, Florida. He says the 48 verses, actually it’s 44 verses are missing from the NIV Bible. And what other Bible versions are missing versus? We have another track here that will give you free. Just call in and ask for us to mail it to you. It’s called the eye-opener and it lists about 25 different modern translations and will actually give you a list of how many verses are missing from those Bibles you’ll be shocked.
A bookylum called New Age Bible Versions that really will open your eyes to about 20-something newer translations. It’s about 800 pages. It’s a great great asset to have in understanding what’s going on with these new translations called New Age Bible Versions, you can call in and order it, we can ship it right out to you. We have Phil in Spring Hill, Florida, leaves us off our question for us. Why does God allow terrible tragedies to happen to small children or babies?
And the answer is Phil because of Adam and Eve’s sin. If you don’t like the headlines, you have to go back to Satan who actually tempted Adam and even cause them to sin in the garden. And that sin nature has been passed on. The wonderful thing is that children or babies under the age of accountability should they die will go straight to heaven. You know with so many millions of babies being aborted today, the good news is every one of those babies will be in heaven and you’ll see them one day.
Isn’t that great? So God in the bigger picture has a solution, but it is tragic and sad. Okay, Andy in Tampa, Florida calls in and he needs to solve their question. I heard a pastor say pornography was okay as long as it is used properly between a married couple. What is your opinion? Well, pornography I believe is a perversion and obviously God doesn’t want you to, uh, Observe and watch perversion I believe and I think you need to be careful that whole area I would disagree with him giving approval and I would wonder about his own Personal life if he said something like that Also, you asked a second question here, please explain the difference between the son of God and the son of man versus Well, Jesus is both when he’s called the son of man.
It means he’s man and the phrase son of means they have the same nature the same being or in essence to be the same as. And when Christ is called the Son of Man, it speaks about his human nature and the fact that he is truly a man. And he got tired, he got hungry, he slept, he needed to eat and so on. As the Son of God, he has the nature of God himself and Jesus is God. That phrase was used of Christ and when Christ claimed that he was the Son of God, they said it was blasphemy.
He’s claiming to be God. And so as God, Jesus could raise the dead. He could forgive sin. He could walk on the water. He could multiply the loaves and the fishes. And so on and so on. So we find that both of these phrases are true of Jesus. We have Joe in Pimbroke Pines, Florida, and he calls in with us all for a question. What does Hebrew 6, 1 through 3 mean? Also, the Scofield Bible note about Hebrew 6, 4, says these people were never saved.
And I disagree with that. They are saved and they fall away from their assurance and their steadfastness and their service and need to get back and serve again. They don’t need to become saved again because you can’t be lost once you become saved. So we hope that you will take a fresh look at that passage yourself. We’re going to go to Wayne in St. Petersburg and Wayne, welcome to Bibleline your On The Air. Hey, Dr. Hank, am I on the air now?
You are on the air. Yeah, go ahead. We’re live. That comment is second go about the pornography. In the Old Testament, you can probably quote it, I can’t help out in my head, but it says we’re not to uncover our parents’ nakedness or other people who just fall in line with that kind of thing that you’re looking at other people. leads in the fantasy. There’s no way that somebody can get involved in that and not be dreaming about. As a man thinks it’s in his heart so is he.
So if he looks upon another woman with that and you’re going to wind up into those categories which is biblical viewpoint or God’s viewpoint as far as that goes. I agree with you, Wayne. And thank you for that additional comment there as Christ said in the book of Matthew. He says if you’re looking upon a woman to lust, then you’ve committed It’s a great adulte with you in your heart, and if you’re watching pictures of other people doing these things, obviously those adulte’s thoughts are going to be in your mind and you’ll be violating scripture for sure.
Oh, it doesn’t be a medical law or whatever about uncovering the… Oh yeah, still valid… Maybe you can quote that for her to take to or whoever it was that called and I have to just throw on the radio at that time. Absolutely. I’ve been again, 18, 19, and 20, those three chapters in particular. are quite clear about that. Well, we’re out of time. Well, the tea has gone so quickly. It’s Wednesday. We’ll be back tomorrow again on Thursday and we hope you’ll be tuned in with us.
If you haven’t trusted Jesus as yet, would you just say a prayer? Just say, Lord, I am a sinner and I trust Jesus Christ right now. He’s got your finger. As the one who died and shed his blood, He said that in four with buried and rose again for that. I trust Jesus right now to forgive my sin, to give me the gift of eternal life. and the moment you do God saves you. you. Then you need to make that second decision, which really is about conversion that we talked about today.
And that’s when your life changes. That’s when you experience the blessings of God as you choose to serve Him and become a servant. Also, don’t forget the Bible. I need your help.
