Welcome to Bibleline with Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Coming to you from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida declaring God’s love through radio and television, providing real answers to an ever-searching world. Got a question? Dial toll free at 1-800-576-3771. Now here’s the host of Bibleline. Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Hank Lindstrom. Well, good morning and welcome to Bibleline great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you each and every day Monday through Friday and we’re glad that you’re tuned in today.

And by the way, this program is going to the internet right now. You can go to the internet and catch this program 24-7. That means at any time you feel like going to the internet, you can catch Bible and radio. You can catch today’s show live right now and you can catch it in archive as well as about two years with a program. That’s exciting. Well, I’m glad to be with you today. It’s Tuesday and we’re excited about what’s happening this week and we hope that you are as well.

I was talking to a lady yesterday from the other side of the state of Florida and she says I hate to say it this way, but I have to get my fix every morning with Bibleline When she doesn’t get to hear Bible and she feels like she has missed that fix that sets her up for the day and gets her going. Well that’s exciting. We hope that you feel the same way, that you enjoy tuning in every day and listening to the program and passing that word along to your friends and if you have friends overseas, maybe family in the military or missionaries in foreign countries, let them know about Bible line because on the internet they can catch it any place in the world.

That’s right. We have 156 countries that have logged on and we have every continent represented except Antarctica. I don’t know if there’s many folks living in Antarctica, but so far we’ve got all six continents except for Antarctica, the seventh continent represented here on Bibleline. That’s exciting. We have a video at the beginning of our website, a seven minute presentation. You can buy that 7 minute video to play or use with your friends to present the gospel, but you also can put it on your website.

I got an email yesterday from a fellow that said he put it on two of his websites. So that video of how to be saved is being included by many on their websites and that is truly exciting. Again, I’m Dr. Ankerman, this is Byblind, and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church. And we hope that you’re enjoying Bible and wherever you might be listening. And you’re welcome to call in in a minute.

We’ll take your question. It’s 1-800-576-377-1, 1-800-576-377-1. And give us a call. We already have callers waiting to get up on the air with us. And I hope you’ll join that group and we’ll try to catch your questions today. No doubt about it, the Bible is an incredible book and a book that is truly the Word of God. You know when you read through the Bible you finally get that impression as you read through because that’s the claim for itself.

For example if you go back to the book of Exodus you’ll find that God throughout is the one that is speaking. And I just opened my Bible here to Exodus chapter 7. It says in verse 8, and the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, and if you drop down to verse 14, it says, and the Lord said unto Moses, Pharaoh’s heart is hardened. And as you read on down, you’ll find in chapter 8 verse 1, and the Lord spake unto Moses.

And as you go further down, it says in verse 16, and the Lord spake unto Moses. And as you read verse 20 it says, and the Lord spake unto Moses. And it goes on and on from chapter to chapter 11, for example, and the Lord said in the Moses chapter 12, and the Lord spake unto Moses. And you can go throughout the chapters and find dozens and dozens of times where it says here in these chapters, the Lord spake unto Moses.

And this is what the Lord said, and this is what Moses was to repeat. And guess what? You have that phrase, or expression, or its equivalent, over 2,500 times in the Old Testament. After you read those 39 books of the Old Testament and you read that phrase, safe award or the Lord’s Bank over 2500 times you kind of get the idea It kind of dawns on you. This is the word of the Lord. This is God’s word. And you find it throughout the prophets.

You find it throughout the minor prophets. Almost every minor prophet begins with those words. It says in Jonah, even chapter 1. Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah. And that’s the way the book began. And Jonah was one of the prophets. Jesus refers to Jonah as one of the prophets in Matthew. As in Micah chapter 1 verse 1, the word of the Lord that came to Micah. And you see it throughout these books. And each one usually begins with that opening where it is the Lord that is speaking.

And they are simply taking these words and then sharing them with you and me as they command the Lord commanded them to speak. Here is Zephaniah. It says the word of the Lord which came under Zephaniah. Wow, the Bible is indeed the word of God. Today the Bible is under attack. People are not reading the Bible. It’s a shame because wow, this is the word of God. If you really believe it was or is the word of God, wouldn’t you want to pay attention and say, hey, I would like to see what God has to say.

People watch the evening news. They listen to the radio for news. They read their newspapers for news. But if you want the latest news, read the Bible. It is tomorrow’s news today. This book tells the future before it happens. We’re watching so many things happening right now that the Bible spoke about thousands of years ago. It’s incredible. Sometimes I watch the evening news and I watch it catch up to the Bible I say I knew that was going to happen.

I knew that was going to happen because the Bible said it would happen and We can know with confidence that that is exactly what’s going to take place because the Bible Set it and God is never wrong God never makes mistakes This book does not need to be revised updated or changed and what we have today There’s so many people tampering with God’s word is that a good thing for the most part? it’s not because they’re changing the meaning.

They’re deleting verses from the Scriptures. They’re over 2,000 deletions in many of these new translations, and the NIV in particular drops 44 verses in their entirety. These are key and important verses. And it’s amazing And it’s amazing how that nobody seems to pay attention. But this is significant, especially when the Bible says, you’re not to take away from the words of this book. We’re not to add to the words of this book. And yet they are deleting, subtracting, and changing, and altering when the Word of God, the Bible says, will never change.

Jesus said in Matthew 24, 35, heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall never pass away.” Wow! If you were I made that statement, people would begin the laugh and think maybe they ought to take him off to the funny farm. But you know Jesus spoke those words and here they are still today, thousands of years later recorded for us in the scriptures. and you can read his words, and the heavens and the earth will pass away.

The Bible tells us, but his word will never pass away. Peter tells us in 1 Peter 1 verse 25, the word of God liveth and abideth forever. Long after the city of Tampa or the city of New York or Rome or London or Moscow have long Since disappeared as the heavens and the earth will pass away, God will create a new heavens and new earth. The Word of God will still be around. The Word of God liveeth and abighteth forever.

We need to pay attention. And Peter in particular in his book says we need to pay close attention. We need to be diligent as we get into the Bible to see what it has to say. Especially today when we see people being deceived that NIV I mentioned a moment ago. Guess what guess what? The Jehovah’s Witness Bible drops the same 44 verses Does that tell you something? Did they get together? I’m not saying they did but they dropped the same verses and Guess what they both attacked the doctrine of hell If you have an NIV, it’s going to try to get rid of hell.

It’s going to try to wash it right out. You can’t get rid of these doctrines. As hard as they might try, you can’t get rid of all the truth. But the Joel’s Witness Bible has even the same title, New World Translation. Absolutely the equivalent of New International Version. Very little. Nothing different, really. New and New World and International Version and Translation. They’re the same and the and the guts are the same If you want the worst Bible you can buy go out and get the NIV That’s probably one of the worst out there and yet churches are putting them in their churches as pew Bibles What are the what are the tip-offs if you’re in a good church or a bad church is the Bible they use I think you need to be careful that you don’t get one of these that you’ve been cheated

You ought to go back and get a refund if you’ve got one They say, I’m missing 44 verses. Could you supply them for me, please? And there are hundreds of other deletions. Could you please supply those deletions for me? Let me put them back in my Bible. Because if you have the NIV, you’re missing hundreds of deletions that have been deleted and you’re missing 44 verses in their entirety. Does that bother you? Does that bother you? It should. If you’re a believer, you would say, how can this be?

You know, The 2 Timothy 3, 16 says all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Verse 17 says that the man of God or the woman of God may be thoroughly equipped or completely equipped to do the job that God wants us to do. If you have the word of God in your hand, you have the book, the instruction book, the manual, the work manual that God has given to tell us what to do, how to do it, and how we can please God and how we can reach men and women with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This is our mission.!. The Great Commission is the forgotten mission of the church. What does the Great Commission say? A lot of people don’t even know what it is. 1615 says go into all the world and preach what? The Gospel. Preach the gospel to every creature. Go preach the gospel. This is not being done today. In Hillsborough County, the county where Tampa is has in the Yellow Pages over a thousand churches. There are probably more churches than there are gas stations.

And yet everybody seems to be able to get gas even though it’s very expensive. But it seems like few people are fighting the gospel. If you go out on the street or in the restaurant and you ask somebody, what do you think you have to do to go to heaven? They usually don’t know or they’ll give you a wrong answer. What a tragedy with a thousand churches in just this one county. There are 67 counties in the state of Florida and a thousand The church is in just the county in which I’m residing right now.

The whole world should know Christ, or at least this whole county should know Christ. People are getting gas with less gas stations than there are churches, and yet something’s wrong here. They’re not paying attention to the Bible, they’re not paying attention to the Great Commission. Some churches never lead anyone to Christ. And in a banzolistic organization called our church here, and it happened to get me as I picked up the phone. But if you have anybody in your church that could take the Bible and open it up and lead someone to Christ, they wanted some volunteers.

And I said, yes, we have many like that. I said, oh, thank God. We’ve been striking out as they called over churches. They couldn’t find any. I said, you’re kidding. And they said, no. In fact, I said, well, tell me, what are you finding? And they said, well, the last church I called, they said, we used to have a person like that, but he moved. Are you believing it? The churches aren’t training anybody to open the Bible up and actually lead a soul to Christ.

Every Christian ought to be able to do that. Every Christian ought to be able to talk about Jesus. It ought to be something that becomes natural, because that’s what we all ought to be doing. We all are, according to the Bible, ambassadors for Christ, where to represent Him and tell others about him, and the world should hear about Christ from every believer. And if we were doing our job, we would evangelize the world, but we’re doing a bad job today.

You know, America used to be a country that sent out more missionaries than any other country in the world, and guess what? That’s not happening anymore. Virginia, Africa is sending out more missionaries than we do in America. Korea is sending out more missionaries to the world than we are here in America. What has happened? We have fallen away from the Great Commission And as I often say, it’s the forgotten commission. Yes, the average church member. What is the purpose of your church and maybe they can recite off this purpose statement that they recite in their church But where is the purpose that God has given to us?

The great commission that Christ left with us to go into all the world and preach the gospel? That’s probably not even in it. And when they try to tell you what the purpose of their church is or why their church exists, it seems like they’re just absolutely ignorant of the fact that every church, if it’s a church established by God, It’s main commission is to go into all the world and preach the gospel to Jesus Christ. You know, I hang around Christians, but I got saved in 18.

But do you know that no one, no one, let me say that again, no one has ever witnessed to me since I got saved in 18. That scares me to death. I’m telling you, that scares me because it tells me Christians are doing their job. I’ll travel to other cities and I’ll speak it into places and I’ll be at conferences with other Christians and nobody. I’m telling you nobody has ever approached me and tried to lead me to Christ.

Now the cults have come to my door, but I’ve never had a genuine, born-again believer attempt to lead me to Christ since I got saved. That’s scary. It frightens me to think that I could have gone through my whole life and never heard the gospel from a Christian. That’s scary. I’m Dr. Englundstrom. This is Bible and we’re going to go to the phone lines. We have people all over the place calling in. We have Jeff from Lansing, Michigan and Jeff is not there.

Jeff had to hang up but we’re now going to go to Dave in Richmond, Virginia and Dave in Richmond, Virginia. You’re on the air. Yes, good morning, Dr. Hank. I’d like to get your thoughts on something here. I’ve been looking through some of the old reformation catechisms like the Lutheran Catechism and comparing it to the old Anabaptist and that sort of thing. And one of the things that comes up from, say, the Lutheran and the high Anglicans and some of the Reformation churches is that they say that Christ’s body and blood, he both brought from heaven.

And it’s not a good thing. And it seems that some of the Reformation churches would disagree with that. And my question is, what are your thoughts in regards to the blood of Jesus Christ? Do you believe that he obtained his blood from Mary, or do you believe that he brought his blood from heaven, and I’ll hang up and listen? Thank you, sir. Okay, I I have been to believe that he was was born as a human. He was fully human and he was related.

The Bible says the Romans chapter 9 verse 5 as pertaining to the flesh all the way back to Adam and certainly back to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. He came through the line of the tribe of Judah and he on the genealogy. He was on Mary’s side of the genealogy as it split it David and Joseph was of the line of Solomon, but there was a curse on that line, and he was of the flesh related back to David through Nathan, the son of David, and that’s the line of Mary.

But I believe that his blood was manufactured by the body that he had, but I believe because he had no human father, the sin nature of Adam was not passed on down to Christ. If Joseph had been the father of Jesus, he would have had the Adam sin nature and would have been a sinner and hence could not be the Savior. So the virgin birth was a vital part of God’s plan and God obviously planned it before the foundation of the world.

You find the first reference to that virgin birth in Genesis 3.15 where it talks about the seed of the woman being the reheamer and that is a phrase I think that’s a veiled reference to the virgin birth because the seed is passed on in the Bible it tells us through the man and here is a woman having seed without a man I believe a reference to the virgin birth in Christ therefore would be sinless but I think his blood was produced from that egg and sperm as God is the one that fertilized that egg and this is why it says that Jesus was the only Son that God himself began.

So he began Christ as the only begotten Son. So there’s one human being that has God as its father and a mother. That was a woman of the line of the tribe of Judah all the way back to Abraham and back to Adam. And that is exciting. So that’s my view and of course I don’t think he took the blood from heaven. But I think he took it back to heaven because the Bible tells us in Hebrews chapter 9 that Jesus entered once into the Holy Place.

That’s the one in heaven. And there he took his blood having obtained for us eternal redemption. That’s Hebrews 9, 12. And so he took that blood that he shed at Calvary back to heaven. And there it was sprinkled on the mercy seat as he obtained for us eternal redemption. Thank you Dave for that question. I hope I’ve answered it for you. We’re now going to go to Jeff in Lansing, Michigan and Jeff. Welcome to Bibleline. Thanks for being so patient.

Hey Dr. Lynch from How are you doing? Good morning. I just had a question and it’s in regard to the rapture. Yes sir. And if you give me a second, I’ll just kind of frame the question. And in the Christian community, it’s pretty obvious to everyone that there’s really no timing. I mean, there may be a consensus among Christians that there is a rapture, but we’re all aware of the. Yes. And so just for like the sake of argument, I guess, let’s assume that the pre-tribulational rapture view ends up being wrong and maybe a mid or pre-rasp ends up being right.

Could you kind of take a minute and speculate on the effect that might have on, say, a person who lives through and then suddenly they see, like it says in Second Thessalonians chapter 2 where it talks about the man of lawlessness will be revealed before the day of the Lord and the gathering together to himself. Say, we’re living and we go past that point and we see someone rise to power in the world who has all the attributes of the Antichrist.

And we say, well, wait a minute, what happened here? were supposed to be out of here or whatever i just wondered if you could kind of speculate what would be the the effect on the faith of those people who have been putting all their hope basically in the rapture well you Well, you know, it’s interesting that because that passage in Second of thessalonians actually describes that somebody apparently wrote a letter to the people at Tuscalo, Nica, and said that the rapture had already happened, and they had been left behind, and they were shaken.

They were shaken. They were shaken. Their faith was shaken. They were shaken. And here Paul describes how that cannot possibly be happening because the rapture happens first, and then the tribulation follows. I remember I had a roommate in college. We lived in the dorm at the University of Florida. I went on to graduate in electrical engineering. And he was a believer and chose the room with me. And we had a great time leading guys to Christ in college. But you know, one night, in the middle of the night, he comes over and he’s shaking me, awakening me from sleep.

And I said, what is going on? He had apparently a dream that the rapture had happened and he wanted to make sure that I was still there. I said, go back to sleep. And so he was frightened that perhaps I wouldn’t be in my bed and then the rapture would have happened and he would have been left fine. I think he would be very shaking if that were true. But there’s no possibility because the next thing on God’s program, read 1 Thessalonians 1-10.

It says we’re to wait for his son from heaven who has delivered us from the wrath to come. If the rapture were to come after the tribulation, then the scriptures would have to read were to wait for that blessed tribulation. Of course, we wouldn’t be blessed tribulation, but we’d have to wait for the tribulation. And then Christ would return. But the Bible always tells us, Jesus coming is next. And that’s what we’re waiting for. Wherever you look in it’s almost in every New Testament book that we’re to be watching and waiting and looking for Christ’s return.

Titus gives us a beautiful verse that we’re to be looking unto Jesus. In Hebrews 12-2 the same thing, looking unto Jesus, watching for His return. Not does it, does it never once tell us, wait and look for that terrible tribulation, wait for the Antichrist, we’re to wait for the Rapture event. By the way, Miami, thank you for tuning in today. We always appreciate having Miami, South Florida, listening down there. And again, thank God for all of you who pray for and give the Bible and to make this program possible.

Without you, we could not remain on the air in Miami. Well, we are glad to have you here, Don, in Grand Blanc, Michigan, writes in with an offer of questions. He says, what do you think of the Ryrie Study Bible? I find the notes are very informative and helpful and I agree and I have a riaries study Bible. I like Dr. Riley’s Bible. I don’t think he wrote all the notes so because there’s one I’m very disappointed with and James too, where it says that faith and works are two parts of a one ticket coupon that both parts are required to get to heaven.

I think that note is wrong and should be expelled from the right or steady Bible, but I just can’t believe he personally wrote that because I’ve read all of his books and he certainly doesn’t hold that kind of position. But it’s a good Bible. I like the writer study Bible, but there’s one note that just really drives me nuts. The note on James, I believe, is wrong. Done in Grand Blank. Michigan also writes it with this question. What do you think about Arnold Murray in the Shepherd’s Chapel?

Well, his doctrine is very flawed. He believes you can lose your salvation. And I would steer clear of anybody that teaches you can lose your salvation, because that means you have to work to get it and keep it. And that’s not going to get you to heaven. It’s a false gospel. And therefore, I would not recommend listening to those programs. While we’re coming up on that break, and I’m going to have to say goodbye for a few minutes, and then we’ll come back into a second and a half hour Bible.

I hope you’ll stay with me. If you could help Bibleline this month, we could really use it. And so would you call maybe and give a gift by a credit card over the phone or call and ask for an envelope to be sent and send your gift into Bibleline. This is a time when we could really use your help, especially this week. So, could you do that please? Call in and say I’d like to give a gift to Bible, and that would help us out and get us through this month.

We need your help. In any case, I’m going to go to break and we’ll come back and do a second half hour. And I hope you’ll stick with me and stay through the second half hour as well. It’s also on the Internet Live. So go there as well, BibleLineMinistries.org. Here we go. I’ll be right back after this short break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund’s from Instruments Great to Be With You.

Thank you so much for being a part of our program today. We have a lot of things going on over the summer here, and we hope that you’ll stay tuned to Bibleline and ask your questions and listen in on the things that are going on. and we hope that you’ll take a look at our website if you haven’t already. All the time new people are discovering the website and they’re discovering that they can catch the radio programs by clicking on the spinning globe.

They’re discovering that they can watch the television programs by clicking on the television set and that they can watch the worship services by clicking on the camera. They can visit our resource center by clicking on the online bookstore. They can get the articles that I’ve written by clicking on Dr. Vince from his articles. articles. They can study the Bible by clicking on the Bible, but you have there with the concordance. You can do your Bible searches and without buying anything.

You can have the Bible and read it right there online. You can actually scroll down a passage on our website in the Bible and there are five different people that will read the Bible to you out loud. You can choose the voice that’s pleasing most to you and just watch it scroll down and listen to it being read to you at the same time that you’re reading it. I think that is incredible. You’ve got to try that. So go to our website and go to the Bible and try that.

Let it read to you while you’re reading and boy you’ll be taking the Bible in through two of your senses, through your eye-gate and through your ear-gate. We didn’t, I’ll tell you. You can’t beat that. And certainly we want you to order off of our website or call in, get a resource sheet sent to you and order the different things we have. We’ve got that skill field Bible, the one that you won’t find, you will not find it in your Christian bookstore because they just don’t stop the old skill field anymore.

You get the watered down version. Satan has really done a wonderful job at what he does in keeping the truth from us and giving us an inferior reference Bible or giving us an inferior Bible. Today people are buying Bibles that are leaving out lots of material when the Bible warns about anybody that would subtract from the Word of God coming under God’s curse. Revelation 22-19, you don’t want to be guilty of that. We have a book here in our resource center called New Age Bible Versions.

That is powerful. About eighteen, rather, eight hundred pages of information that will just bring you up speed and you’ll be able to know why. You have the Bible you have in your hand and why you don’t want some of the others that are going to be inferior in dropping and leaving out verses. Well, we’re going to go back and return to the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour Bibleline and I want you to stay with me as we do the second half hour.

And I hope you’re enjoying and I hope you’ll stick with us this whole half hour as we do the second half of Bibleline. Here we go. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for that break and this is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. From our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and we’re right next to the Tampa International Airport.

If you have trouble finding us and you’re really having trouble because the landmark here is the airport. If you cannot find the Tampa International Airport, then don’t even bother to try to find us. I’m teasing with you. If you find the airport, which everybody ought to be able to do, we’re on the west side. And we’re about midway between the ends of the North and South runway, the main runway here at Tampa International. We’re a Black West. So if you get more than a block from the airport, you’re probably going in the wrong direction.

Come by and see us. We’d love to have you. And we have people telling us all the time that they’re intending to come by and see us sometime. And I hope you will. We met some folks this week already coming by yesterday that came by to take a look at us and visit us during the week and find out how to get here. We love to have you do that. By the way, we’re having a summer camp for teens coming up June 23.

That’s a Monday and returning on Saturday, June 28. Beautiful camp right down in the middle of the heart of the state. And it’s a beautiful clear spring-fed lake. The hillside has white sandy beaches and beautiful green grass. The camp cabins, their condition cabins for the kids, and the dining hall and the meeting hall overlook this beautiful lake. And there’s lots of fun going on, but our main focus is on the word of God. And kids go and really appreciate learning about the Bible.

In fact, sometimes when they first get there, they go through a little bit of a thrall from their TV and their music. But you know, after a couple of days, they begin to say, wow, they would like more Bible. And we give them a good dose, and they’re going to come out of this place place really knowing their Bible. If you have a teen you’d like to send a camp, please give us a call at our headquarters here and we’ve got about 25 openings left to fill up our camp.

If you’d like to send your teen, I guarantee you they’ll come away different because the Word of God has such a powerful impact and especially on these young lives today. We need to get them under the sound of God’s Word. One week at camp will be a powerful, powerful impact on their life. Give us a call and we’ll be glad to include your teen or teens in our summer camp. We’ve got 25 openings only. That’ll fill up past. We hope that you’ll get your child enrolled with us.

By the way, we also have a number of things this summer. We have a dinner of the next two Sundays. If you’re in the area and you want to come by and visit us, those would be good Sundays to come. This Sunday will be a homemade Italian dinner right after the worship service as a fundraiser to help the kids go to camp and then the following week is our normal third Sunday dinner. You’re invited to be our guest and just bring your appetite, your family and come and join us for the worship services.

We’re going to do another baptism in August. So if you want to mark that down the third Sunday in August, we’ll be a baptism day. If you want to have us include you in our baptism service, we’d love to do that. We believe that believers ought to as a testimony. Be immersed after they have been saved. So if you’ve not been water baptized since your salvation experience, then it doesn’t count. Believers baptism, according to the Bible, is done by somebody who’s already saved, giving testimony to that salvation by being water baptized.

You’re welcome to be a part of ours and that’ll be the third Sunday in August. We have Michael, and he’s in the UK in New York and Michael, welcome to Bibleline, you are on the air. Morning, Dr. Lynch. I just wanted to, could you explain verse Corinthian 12, 12 and 13, verse 12 and 13? And I will hang up with us to you. Let me get that right now. First Corinthians chapter 12 and we’re looking at verses 12 and 13.

Yes. Okay, we’ll do it. I’ll hang up with us. I’ll just do you one o’clock. Sure. Wonderful. Alright. First Corinthians chapter 12, verse 12 and 13. And this is a wonderful passage. It says, as the body is one and half many members, you and I have a body and we have a lot of members. I have legs. I have arms. I have fingers. I have toes. I have eyes, and so on. All the members of that one body being many are one body, so also is Christ.

That talks about the body of Christ. In the says in verse 13, 4 by one Spirit, are we all baptized into one body? Whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free, and have been all made to drink into one spirit. So this is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And notice it says by one spirit are we all baptized in one body. Every believer has the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It happens at the moment you believe.

And the operation of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the placing of the believer into the body of Christ. So when you trust Christ the Holy Spirit takes you and places you into Christ body as one of its members and look at verse 27 because this is the result Michael It says now not later now right now you are the body of Christ and members in particular so right now at the moment you believe and forever thereafter You are a member of the body of Christ and the way that you were placed into Christ’s body was the baptism of the Holy Spirit It’s also described in Romans chapter 6 that we were baptized into His death and as we were placed into His body we were also buried with Him, resurrected with Him and we actually according to Ephesians 2-6 have not only ascended with

Christ but were also seated with Christ in heavenly places right now because God sees us in the body of Christ Christ. And so when Jesus hung on that cross, if you’re a believer, he saw you in that body hanging on the cross. And that’s why Paul could say in Galatians 2, 20, I’m crucified together with Christ and yet nevertheless I live. So you were crucified with Christ. And that’s the baptism of the Holy Spirit. What is interesting is that people talk more about the indwelling of Christ where He comes and involves our body, but they don’t focus very much on our being placed in the Christ body.

They are the counterparts, and both are operations that happen at the moment you believe. Christ comes and involves in me, Colossians 128, the hope of glory, Jesus dwelling in me, but also I have been placed in the Christ body. But what is interesting to me when people talk about how to be saved, they point to consequences sometimes of salvation and they’ll say in order to be saved you have to invite Christ in your life. Well that’s not true. Christ does come into your life at the moment you believe but that’s a consequence and you don’t ask for Christ to come into your life to be saved.

You trust that he died in shed his blood and was buried and rose again from the dead and then God saves you. I suggest and I kind of have a little fun with this why don’t Christians say in order to be saved focusing on another equal counterpart Consequence of salvation and that is you have to be in Christ body to be saved Why don’t they say to be saved you have to get in Christ body get in Christ body right now?

Come on. Come on get into the body of Christ You have to be in the body of Christ to be saved. Come on. Come on. Let’s get into the body of Christ They don’t even focus on that one, but yet it’s equally true that not only does Christ come in and dwell in your body, but you are placed into Christ’s body. Both are equally a consequence of salvation, but both of them happen at the moment you believe or trust Christ as Savior.

So the key to being saved is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ or trust on the Lord Jesus Christ and I’ll show it be saved, Acts 1631. When you do, there are these two operations of the Holy Spirit to take place, the indwelling of Christ of the Holy Spirit and also the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the placing of you into the body of Christ, and there are four other operations of the Holy Spirit that also take place at that instant of time, but they are all consequences.

And we don’t ask God to perform one of the consequences to be saved. We ask, or rather we trust that He died and shed His blood and trust Him as our Savior, all the consequences take place and there are dozens and dozens of them. They all occur as consequences. Thank you, Michael, and we’re now going to go to An anonymous caller right here in Tampa, Florida. An anonymous welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. I just wanted to give you a chance.

Well, obviously if you are feeling very uncomfortable there and then you’re not really enjoying the film. I think it’s about time probably to go where you’re going to be fed and you’re going to be comfortable in God’s word. Certainly the Bible warns in James chapter two that the church is not a not to respect those who have riches as opposed to those who don’t. And it says in James 2, for example, if you come somebody into your building with a gold ring and goodly apparel, and you come in also a poor man in vile raiment, and you have respect to him that has the good clothing and saying, you sit right up here in the front in this good place.

And you say to the poor person, you go sit back here in the back corner on this little footstool, aren’t you partial in yourselves and become judges of evil thoughts and God says here you shouldn’t do that. So that’s a shame that does happen but nobody should be given special status because they’re able to give more than someone else can but tragically money talks and in many places it happens that it happens in the church as well that shouldn’t be.

I I just say that you are already expressing that you don’t feel comfortable there and you don’t feel like the pastoral staff is treating everybody with fairness. So I think perhaps that’s the Lord telling you that maybe you need to find a place where you will be able to comfortably worship. Thank you for that call and I hope that helps and we’re now going to go to Steve in Tampa, Florida. Steve, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi Dr.

Hank, how are you today? Good. First of all, I wanted to say I had dozens of people visit the website at that time of the day. So I know that they heard it and I’m very blessed that you did that. The other thing is I would like to get your opinion and sort of a bit of a discussion about the requirements typically for someone who is installed in a post of authority within the church’s structure like bishops and whatnot.

And as a former Catholic, you know, that I as a former Catholic, used to believe that the church’s doctrine has said, you know, that priests and whatnot are to be unmarried and not have families and whatnot. And in my study at the Bible, I’ve come to learn that that’s exactly opposite of what the Bible teaches us. And in doing my research, I kind of ran into a discussion of that topic. And it’s a very interesting thing to me that years ago in the Catholic Church, and they built their wealth through land ownership.

And as many people did say that Church mandated that priests and bishops and whatnot were not to be married, well, if they were landowners, if they had no wife or heirs when they died the land went to the church. From my perspective, something like that. And I just wanted to get your opinion about what the Bible says about what or whatnot and the church, what are the requirements that the Bible says for that? Okay, Steve, I will. You know, Titus chapter 1 and 1 Timothy chapter 3 are two chapters that outline about 20 different qualities that should be that of a church leader, and it talks about they should be the husband of one wife.

Now Paul apparently was widowed and chose to remain single so that he could effectively give himself to the ministry and obviously he recommended even that for a short period of time during the time when Christians were greatly persecuted. But at the same time, there is an interesting verse in 1 Timothy chapter 4 that says if the church forbids you to get married, that that is a doctrine of demons. Interestingly, there are a number of churches that practice that including the Roman Catholic Church but it says in my Bible In 1 Timothy chapter 4 that the Holy Spirit, who is the author of Scripture, directly addresses this issue for you Roose 1 Timothy chapter 4 verse 1.

Now the Holy Spirit speaketh expressly that in a latter times and that’s when we’re living right. Some would depart from the faith. That phrase the faith occurs 43 times in the New Testament and refers to the body of truth is contained in the New Testament record. It says they would give heed the seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. In verse 3, right up front at the top of the list of the as a doctrine actually inspired by demons is forbidding to Mary.

So when you forbid to marry, that is a, now a person can certainly choose to be single and choose not to marry and that is a personal choice. But when the church forbids you to Mary. That is a doctrine of demons according to 1 Timothy 4 verse 3. But if you read the chapters that outline the requirements for a bishop or an elder or church leader, it talks about in 1 Timothy chapter 3 and in Titus chapter 1 that these men are to be the husbands of one wife.

So I hope that helps a little bit and I thank you for your call and your Your website is wonderful. It’s called Catholic2, the number 2 Christian.org, and it’s a powerful witness to people that have been Catholic as to salvation. You might check that out. Catholic2Christian.org. It might be .com. Okay, we have Stephen in Tennessee. He is calling in and leaves this question off here, and it says, Stephen says, Jesus is God. So, tell me, why did he cry out?

My God, my God, why has thou forsaken me in Matthew 2746? The answer is Jesus Christ is not only God, but he was fully and completely a man. And as a man, he died on the cross of Calvary, as the sinless man, the sinless substitute, to pay for the sins of the human race. And as a man, he was forsaken, which is really what spiritual death is all about. When Adam sinned back in the garden, he died spiritually instantly.

That word, death in the Bible always means separation. He was now separated from God. to Adam eating of the fruit, God walked with Adam in the cool of the garden. Did you know that? It tells us that. And of course that must have been a pre-incarnated appearance of Jesus Christ that God in a body actually walked in the garden with Adam and with Eve. And once he sinned, no longer did he walk with man, but all of a sudden man now was forsaken.

And so Jesus now is letting us know what’s happening on the cross as he experienced spiritual death for you and for me. And so when he cries out as a man, my God, my God, why has self-versaken me, the man Jesus died. You know the Bible uses that phrase referring to Jesus as the man in many ways. And in 1 Timothy 2, 5, it says there’s one God and one man, there’s one God and one man, and that one man is the one mediator between God and men.

The man, Christ Jesus, emphasizes several times in that verse the humanity of Christ, that as a sinless man, as our substitute, as the one who died to pay for our sins, he becomes the one media between God and men. We also note in Hebrews chapter 10, when it talks about our salvation in verse 12, it says this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, set down on the right hand of God. God never died on the cross, but the man Jesus did.

And so here Jesus is a man is calling out to God as his father. Okay, Aaron in Dade City Florida calls in and he brings up Hebrews 6 verses 4 through 8. Do you believe this is a true Christian or someone like a Pharisee? Hebrews 6 is talking about Christians. In verse 4 it says it is impossible for those who were once enlightened. Number 2 have taken part of the heavenly gift. There are 5 things that identify this as a genuine believer.

What it is saying is that a genuine believer falls away from serving the Lord that he needs to go back and serve again, not go back and try to be Stay safe again. It says in verse 6, it’s impossible if you have gotten away from the Lord to go back and become saved again. It says it’s impossible for you to be renewed under that repentance or change of mind that causes you to be saved when you initially trust Christ.

Verse 1 of Hebrews chapter 6 references that, that he wants to move on to maturity for the believer, the one who has already experienced this change of mind by which he becomes saved when he trusts Christ as his Savior. So let’s talk about genuine believers and I hope that that answers your question the caller from Dade City. Dan, in Tampa, Florida calls in, leaves us off our question. He says, how do you talk about the Bible to non-believers who believe the Bible is corrupt and fall under the belief that they are good enough by good works or by being good to your neighbor?

The answer is you must and recognize that the Bible is the Word of God, and that it is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. Hebrews chapter 4, verse 12. So whether they believe it or not, use it. I have had people tell me I don’t believe the Bible. I don’t want to hear it. And then I tell them, well, just let me explain what it says. all quote scripture and go over the gospel with them and in five minutes they’ll trust the Lord.

Amazing! Because Satan wants to disarm you as a Christian by getting you to set your Bible down and not use it. It’s just like if a intruder came into my home at night and I pick up a revolver and I say stop, hold up your hand and stay still I’m going to call the cops and I’ll hold you with his gun until they come back. And if the intruder says Well, I don’t believe that gun could hurt me. And then you say, oh, oh, okay, and you put it back in the drawer.

You’d be foolish, wouldn’t you? But if the crook coming in your home could disarm you that easily with a few words, look at what Satan does to us Christians. The unbelief will say, I don’t believe the Bible’s the Word of God. You say, okay, I’ll just put it away then I won’t use it. Forget that nonsense. The Bible’s the Word of God and it’s living and powerful. And I find that people tell me they don’t believe it, so what?

The Bible is living in powerful and it works whether people say they believe it or not. And I’ve had people tell me they didn’t believe the Bible’s word of God and five minutes later gets saved by hearing the quotes from the Bible that I give them. So don’t let the devil disarm you. You proudly hold that Bible and share what it says whether they say that they believe it or not. David, in Richmond, Virginia calls in with this offer a question.

He says when the Bible describes people dying and says that they gave up the ghost is that referring to the Holy Spirit? No The word ghosts and the word spirit are the same word in the Greek language the New Testament being written in Greek So it’s talking about giving up their solar spirit from the body. So it’s talking about physical death You don’t have the power to do anything about the Holy Spirit or even choosing your moment of death unless you commit suicide.

You’re going to die when an appointed time comes. And so we find that when you a person gives up the ghost, they give up the spirit, that’s when they die, that’s when the body and the spirit and the soul leave the body. And when as a believer you die, you’re absent when the body present with the Lord. Aaron invades city, Florida calls in and says, what does it mean to examine yourselves whether you be in the faith as stated in 2nd Corinthians 13.5.

You have to make sure that what you believe and what you’re preaching and what you’re doing is in line with Scripture. So the way you examine yourself is you compare what you’re doing, what you believe, what you’re saying against Scripture. And if you’re not matching up, then you’ve obviously departed from the faith. And obviously we read an example of that where churches that teach, You cannot get married Have departed from the scripture because the scripture doesn’t teach that It says in Hebrews 13 5 marriage is honorable at all if you choose to get married.

That’s wonderful But no church should be able to say to their congregants You cannot get married that is a doctrine of demons and look how it’s come back to bite the Roman Catholic Church Look at how many pedophile priests they have as a result of the fact that they weren’t allowed to get married I think it’s a tragedy and it’s come back to bite him as a doctrine of demons. Okay, we find here Ron calls in from Jackson, Mrs.

Michigan and he says, I noticed again the occurrence of tongues only happened as a sign to the Jews. coming ceased after the Gentiles, I will reach for the gospel. Good news today. Of course, I expect you’re 19 as well. Run your right on target there. Tugs was a temporary gift. I’m out of time. But again, let me remind you, we do have a summer camp. June 23, 28, if you have a team and you’d like to have them go, they’ll be under the sun.
