If you have a great day, please subscribe to our channel. If you are looking for a Bible, let me recommend the Old Scofield Reference Bible. It is the King James edition of Bible, but the notes are by Dr. C.I.S. Scofield written a hundred years ago, and they are incredible. If you go to your Christian book store, they are going to say the wrong one. I’m afraid since then they have watered the notes down, added new notes that are not by Dr.
Schofield, which I would disagree with, and it’s not the same Bible at all. You want to get the old, and that’s the only one that we offer. So if you call and order your Schofield from us, you’re going to get the right one. The newer ones are all a hybrid, and a mixture of this, that, and the other, and the notes are watered down. down. They don’t even look the same if you were to compare note for note from the original 1909 Schofield Bible and the ones that are out today, they don’t even look the same.
They’ve really watered it down terribly. I encourage you to get an old Schofield reference Bible and I think you’ll find the fact that it has so many helps in the center margin and the notes of the bottom of the page that scared the doctrine. A lot of people say, well, why Why that Bible? Most Bibles have biographical, geographical, historical type of information. They’re great for Bible trivia. I have every one of them in my library. But if you want to have good doctrine, the Scofield Bible’s notes are geared to doctrine.
What about heaven? What about hell? What about angels? What about the fallen angels? What about demons? What about inspiration? What about redemption? Salvation? The justification, glorification, predestination, all of these doctrines are explained in the Scofield Bible. And it’s so invaluable because today we’re seeing people not enduring sound doctrine because they have no clue. And the Scofield Bible will help keep you on track. I feel that I’ve done somebody a favor if I’ve gotten them into a Scofield Bible because if they actually utilize the notes.
gonna be sound. In doctrine, it’s one of those great mibles that God has allowed to be put out there. But today, we’re seeing so many that are just trying to put something out there in print. And it’s wonderful to know how much a shekel is worth and how much a bushel contained and how many miles it was between the city and that biblical city. How many journeys Paul made and where did he go on each journey and all of those things are just wonderful.
fill your head up with information. But what you’re reading you need to know is doctrine. Second Timothy 3.16 says, all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine. The Scofield Bible is going to lock you in on good doctrine. You want to get one. By the way, all of them have the same page number. So when I use mine, the page will be the same as in yours if you have the old Scofield reference Bible.
We’re going to take a look at the Bible for a little bit and then we’re going to of course answer your questions. You could call us here at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. and people are already calling in, we’d love to have you call in. Can you lose your salvation? Many churches teach that you can, and if that be the case, they’re not offering you the salvation that God is offering. God offers eternal salvation. You ever thought about that? God uses the word everlasting.
God uses the word eternal. That same word is used of God himself. So if salvation is not eternal, then God is not eternal. If salvation is not eternal, then hell is not eternal. If salvation is not eternal, the Holy Spirit is not eternal. You know the Bible uses that same word, the eternal spirit of God. It talks about how that God is from everlasting to everlasting. And the salvation that God offers is everlasting life. If it’s everlasting, it will never cease.
And it’s received at the moment you believe. I was never taught that. I was raised in church. I was confirmed in baptize, homogenized, pasteurized, colonized, you name it, I went through the process. But I never knew how to go to heaven. He ever told me about eternal life in the church I was raised in. And it wasn’t until I was 18 years of age that I finally saw in the Bible what the Bible had to say and my friend the Scriptures rule.
The Bible claims to be the Word of God. Not only that, it demonstrates to be the Word of God by its accuracy, by the its ability to tell the future by the fact that it has stood the test of time. I think it’s about one-tenth of one percent of all books ever published last about seven or eight years. And they disappear. They just no longer imprint. They’re out of print. I can’t tell you how many books I have in my library that are no longer imprint.
They just go out of print. You can’t find them anymore. The Bible has stood the test of time. of those books that has endured the test of time. And you know the Bible says for itself in 1 Peter, the Word of God liveth and abideth forever. The Word of God liveth and abideth forever. This is an incredible book. And if the Word is un-eternal then eternal life is not eternal. But at the moment you believe you receive eternal life.
I was 18 and I receive eternal life and by the way I still have it because it’s eternal life. Let me Let me ask you a great question. John 3 16 says that, Who so ever believeth in Christ? Have you trusted in Christ as your Savior? If you have the verse says that you should not perish, but that you would have, and have as a present tense verb, that you would presently possess, everlasting life. In other words, at the moment you believe, you have, have as a present tense verb, you have eternal life.
So that means right now. I have eternal life. Now, if you have eternal life right now, what kind of life will you have tomorrow? You’re right, it’s everlasting life. If you have everlasting life right now, what kind of life will you have next week? You’re correct, that’s right, it’s everlasting life. If you have everlasting life right now, what kind of life would you have a year from now? Good response. That’s everlasting life. If you have everlasting life right now, what kind of life would you have a million years from now?
It’s still be everlasting, wouldn’t it? In other words, if you have everlasting life at the moment you believe, it’s going to be everlasting tomorrow, next week, next year, 10 years from now, 100 years from now, a million years from now, a billion years from now. So as a believer in Christ, you can know from the moment you believe you’re going to heaven because you receive eternal life. It’s eternal. It’s eternal. It’s eternal. It’s not temporary life. Let me go to the Scriptures now and we’re going to turn to John 637.
What a great verse. This is what I call a refrigerator verse. That’s a verse where you write the address on your refrigerator. Just take that big black magic marker and just write right on the front of your refrigerator John 637. That’s right. Now, I would recommend maybe a piece of paper with a magnet so you don’t actually write on your surface of your refrigerator. But this is one of those things where you put notes and things that are important.
Put this one right there. John 637, Jesus says, Him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. I will in no wise cast out. That means for no reason or no circumstance would Christ ever cast you out. I’ll never forget telling this to a lady who believed that she could lose her salvation and she said, but past her, you don’t know what sins I have committed. If you only knew, you would agree with me that he would cast me out.
Well, I said, don’t even tell me. I don’t even want to know. Let’s go back and read the verse again because it says him that come up to me. Have you come to Christ? And she said yes, she had it says I will in no wise cast you out and There is no exception clause here. It doesn’t say accept you commit the sins of this lady committed Finally she saw the point and That’s what it says. He says I will never cast you out for any reason But then some people reflect on it and they say, okay, all right, all right, I got it.
They got it. He won’t cast me out, but I can cast myself out, can’t I? In other words, if I don’t want eternal life anymore, I can turn it back in. I can tell God you can take your eternal life back. I don’t want it anymore. You know, you can’t even do that. Like this one done. a refrigerator verse, John 639. If you’re refrigerator is not close, just write it on your arm or your hand or someplace handy. You know I’m having fun with you here.
I hope you’re enjoying it. But John 639 is a grand verse. This is Jesus Himself. If you have a red letter edition of the Bible, these words will be in red. These are the words of Christ. Jesus said, this is the Father’s will which has sent me. That of all which she had given me I should lose none. What if he had said I’d lose the first 100 or the first dozen? Or even if he had said he would lose just one?
All of my life I’d have to wonder, well maybe I’m the one he’s going to lose. Panic, panic, maybe he’s going to lose me. But you know what? Grand verse. Jesus said he would not lose one person. That means I’m never going to be lost. I will never be lost. I will never be cast out. Some people I wonder what Bible are they reading? And the answer is they’re not reading any Bible. They’re not reading any Bible. Even the bad translations get these verses generally correct.
Once you trust Christ, He says, I will not cast you out for any reason. John 637 and he says in verse 39 that he would not lose you, not one, not one person would be lost. Think with me for a minute, think a minute, think. If one person in all of history were ever lost, then Jesus would be a liar. Jesus said not one person would ever be lost that ever had come to him. So not one person can be lost.
If teaching, you could lose your salvation as a false doctrine, let me ask you this. Does your church teach that you could lose your salvation? Does your pastor teach that you can lose your salvation? If so, you’re in the wrong church. How can you sit under false teaching? This is a major. If you don’t know that eternal life is eternal and that eternal life is received at the moment you believe, you’ve missed the very simplest truths. And God’s Word.
John 3 16 says, Whosoever, believeeth or trusted in Christ, should not perish but have, have his present tense right now you possess everlasting life. And Jesus said in John 639, he would not catch you. out for any reason and rather verse 37 in John 639 he said he would not lose one that ever comes to him. The alternative is you can lose it and if you can lose it you’re really saying that you have to do something then to get it and to keep it and that’s works and it makes you the Savior not Christ and my friend if you believe you can lose it you probably don’t have it and you’re probably not going to heaven and you’re probably lost and you don’t even realize it.
It’s scary, but I’m pleading for your soul because if you believe you can lose it, you’re saying that what you do between now and death, whether you live the Christian life or whether you backslide before you die, will determine whether you make heaven or not. That’s what you do. It makes you the Savior. It is not about Christ. The Bible says that Jesus is the one who saves you and he’s the one that keeps you and this is one of the most major doctrines in all the Bible.
You have to recognize that eternal life is God’s gift. It’s eternal. It cannot be lost. Once you trust Christ, I tell people you’re stuck. Now that doesn’t mean that you have a license to sin. God will discipline the delinquent believer. He might even take you home to heaven early. God also will hold you accountable for degree of reward in heaven or loss of reward as to what you do after you become saved. And you can stand before the Lord and have regret because you didn’t live for Christ and suffer the loss of reward in heaven, but my friend you’ll still be saved if you once trust Jesus as your Savior.
If you haven’t done it, just tell the Lord now, Lord I trust Jesus Christ as the full and complete payment for my sin, that by his death and shed blood, he paid my sin debt and full was buried and rose again from the dead. I trust him right now to save me eternally. In the moment you do, God saves you. And from that moment on, you can be assured of going to heaven. Then you ought to make a second choice to live for him and serve him.
And that’s where the blessings are. That’s where the fruit is. That’s where the joy is. It comes by living for Christ, but being saved is a gift from God received at the moment you believe. We’re going to go to the phone lines. Let me give you that phone number. You got your pencil handy? 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go to Plant City, Florida, the city where they are famous for their strawberries. We’re going to talk to Dave. I hope you’re not standing out there in that strawberry patch and not willing to share those the strawberries for us.
Hey, welcome to the long run. Good morning. I’m doing pretty good. I’m down in Miami in your hometown today calling in. Good. I got a question about people being put on live support. Does the soul leave the body when people are hooked up and the only thing keeping them alive is the live support? What’s your opinion on that? Obviously, when the soul leaves, I think the body might continue to be able to live. A lot of different definitions today for death.
It used to be if your heart stopped, you were dead. I don’t think they consider if your brain is not function if there is no brain activity or dead. But ultimately, the Bible defines death in the other way. It defines it as when the soul leaves the body. So physical death is really the separation of your soul from your body. And we just don’t know those answers. We have to wait, Dave. But in any case, physical death according to the Bible is the absence of the soul from the body.
So hopefully that helps. But medically we’re coming closer to I think that definition every day. We’re going to go now to Steve in Huntington, West Virginia, and Steve, welcome to Bible and you are on the air. Hello, Dr. How are you doing? Good. I have been saved for about 16 years from the military and have been to a variety of different churches and currently have a wonderful pastor right now.
The doctor in the church is a holiness church, and if I understand it correctly, it’s such that if you’re not holing a present or stand correctly, you can lose your salvation. And my other question I guess connected to that is if in fact you come to Christ and you truly have a salvation experience and that’s why they never come back again, what props are saved. saved if in fact that you’ve never done anything and lived for Christ. That’s the fact.
Well, the thing is on that second question is that you can actually get to the place where you forget that you were saved. First Peter warns about if you don’t continue to grow as a Christian, you can actually come to the place where you forget that you were purged from your sins. And the Bible there gives a recipe for moving forward and enjoying the rewards and fruits of living for Christ. We do have to be holy to be saved, but it is a holiness or righteousness that is imputed to us based upon the substitutionary death of Christ.
In other words, every believer is considered holy or righteous at the moment they believe. Verse 10 of Hebrews chapter 10 says, by one offering, it says, by the will of God, by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ, we are sanctified or made pure in holies what the Greek word means once for all. And verse 14 says, by one offering he hath perfected us forever. So positionally we are considered perfect at the moment of belief because of the righteousness of God that is imputed or credited to the count of the believer and our actual state is far from that obviously and and practical sanctification is where we try to bring our life closer and closer to the position that we have in Christ which will never match up until we’re out of this body and we’re with the Lord in heaven.
But 2 Corinthians 5 21 is one of my favorite verses and it says that God made Christ to be sin for us Christ who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. So what happened at the cross was a substitutionary payment where Christ, who was absolutely sinless, was made to be sin. And our sins were laid upon Christ and there’s a trade made. The substitutionary does the crisis where he takes our sin and pays for them and he then credits our account with his righteousness and it says there that we become the righteousness of God.
And so obviously if you’re as righteous as God you can enter heaven. But many times the holiness churches teach that it’s by personal holiness that you’re eligible for evidence and therefore you can lose your salvation and that’s false. That’s totally not what the Bible teaches. So how do you have, or how do you have, who you believe has at one point in their life committed themselves to Christ but you’re not sure? The best thing to do is ask them.
You know you have to ask what are you trusting in to get you to heaven and it’s by what they come, they say with their lips is you’re going to be assured or not. And obviously we all should be able to say we know we have eternal life because God says we can know that. 1 John 5, 13 says, these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know, K-N-O-W, that you H-A-V-E have present tense eternal life.
So you can know you have it and God says that we can know we have it so therefore we can know it. And you really have to ask. I remember when I first got saved, and my sister was the first one that bought the gospel into our home, and the two of us ganged up on the rest of the family. And finally, we got Mom and Dad and my other sister, my other brother, saved. And then we began to reach out to the relatives, and I’ll never forget this.
My dad concerned for his dad. Many times on a Sunday afternoon, we had nothing to do, and my dad would say, let’s get in the car. You and I, let’s go over and check out Granddad. When we would quiz him and we left when we heard him say with his lips, I am trusting only Jesus to give me to heaven. We knew finally we did that so many times but that was always wanting to make sure about his dad’s salvation that by the time my granddad died at ninety six years of age we were certain without a doubt that Grandad was saved.
So the best thing to do is ask them, if you’re going by their works, there are people that can fool you that look good. Even like the Pharisees on the outside, they were like, why did Septicars? They look great. But on the inside, they were full of dead men’s bones. So you can look good on the outside and be righteous as far as people viewing you, and yet be lost as can be. And yet a person could also be not so good on the outside, and yet on the inside be righteous before God, God because of faith.
Lot is a guy like that. He chose deliberately to live in Sodom. He had absolutely no testimony. And obviously the Bible tells us that Lot was a righteous man in Peter’s writings and he was righteous not because of his deeds but because of his faith in Christ. So if you have a relative or confess Christ but you could see them in their life that they don’t. That’s right. That’s right get them back on track with the Lord or it could be that they’ve never You know really understood it, but I always take the position that I’m gonna until I’m assured by their testimony by their By their words the of their the clearness of their message about how they’re saved that I keep witnessing to them as their laws Steve I’m so glad you’re listening up here in West Virginia and I will have to cut you off here
We’re out of time, but we’ll get back with you keep listening Thank you. And we have to go to break here. We’ll take a second half hour coming up here and I hope you’ll keep you ready to tune right where it is but we’re glad that we’re able to be with you and I hope you’ll pray for Bible on and if you can help support Bible on that would also be great. I’m not going to go through and take a short break.
We’ll be right back. Stay tuned. Don’t go away. Bible on will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. 771. Well, it’s good to be with you today. I’m Dr. Englund Sherman. Thank you for tuning into the broadcast. We’re Kevin D. Live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. And we are very concerned that people get into the Bible and see what it has to say. Because unless you do, you’re a candidate to be deceived by false teaching.
And a deceived person doesn’t know they’re deceived or they wouldn’t be deceived. It’s very, very important that you get into the Bible on a regular basis. And I hope the Bible is a help to you to get clarity and understanding about the doctrines of the Bible. And the Scofield Bible that we recommend will be a great aid to you in your quest to be solid and in sound doctrine as the Bible tells us we ought to be. And I think as you gain assurance, it will help you get your Christian life to pick off Because obviously that is the platform off of which the Christian life feeds.
The fact that you know you’re saved and you know why you’re saved and you know the purpose for which you’re saved and that you are left here with a reason to live. And that’s why a person who is an effective Christian is certain of his or her salvation. We have some great stuff at our resource center. I have lots of teachings about 40 plus 10 hours of teaching or more on CD and some are on DVD as well. You can order them all our latest series was 10 hours of teaching on second Peter.
That was incredible. A lot of people really are just raving about that one and you’ll find it just so perfect for the time in which we’re living in now. Second Peter, 10 hours of teaching on CD or DVD. We also We also did first Peter, 10 hours of teaching on CDN, also DVD, and you can get those by calling in and ordering them. We also did the Gospel of John just prior to that. 20 hours of teaching, and we split it into two parts.
10 hours of teaching, first part, 10 hours of teaching, second part, 20 hours total of teaching on the Gospel of John. You might want to order these CD series, and they’re also available on DVD. can help you facilitate a Bible study of statistical class and also help you with your personal learning of God’s Word. And pray for Bibleline. We need your support. We have no other means of financial support except our listeners. And we have people not only all over the United States that are able to watch that live worship service but are able to watch it from other countries anywhere in the world. Well we’re going to go ahead and get back to the phone lines. We have a caller from Greenup, Kentucky and welcome to Bimeline. This is Jim. Jim welcome to Bimeline. Oh, thank you. Listen, my question is in Corinthians and in Timothy, it says for a woman to remain silent in church.
And the church is high-tend and talked to, they believe that’s talking about the business section of the church. And I can’t find where they’re getting that from. It’s the business section. They are obviously trying to wiggle around the scripture because the Bible’s pretty clear that women are not to be the deacons, the elders, the pastors. They are not, God didn’t choose them as apostles. They are, God, and he gives us two reasons there in 1 Timothy 2. It tells us, number one is for order, structure, that Adam was created first and then Eve.
So, man was given that spiritual responsibility from a very get-go. And unfortunately today, women are taking that responsibility upon themselves, which God never ordained for them to do. And today our world is getting turned upside down because we’re seeing role reversals and that’s happening in the church as well. And so, it is wrong. A woman is not to usurp authority over the man. The Bible also tells us because women are more easily deceived in the area of spiritual matters.
And you can see that in the cults. Many of the cults have been founded by women, the Seventh Adventist, by L.M.G. White, the Christian scientists, by Mary Baker, Eddie, and so on. A lot of false teachings come forth from women. I really don’t know of any good sound women Bible teachers today. of the all-habitancy to drift off because women think more emotionally, the men think more factually. And so the Bible tells us that’s basically why Satan went to Eve first in the garden alone separate from her husband.
If Adam had been standing there, perhaps he would have told her Eve, you know, you shouldn’t do this. But she was moved by the flesh and by her emotions and she took her the fruit and that’s where it began. The Bible tells us in that passage about women being silent in First Timothy chapter 2 that Adam was not deceived but Eve was deceived in the transgression. And usually throughout the Bible whenever you find women in charge in religious things it talks about bad doctrine and talks about error.
In fact, the in-time church described in Revelation 17, the apostate church is called the woman, the woman, the woman, the woman, the woman six times just in that one chapter. And because again, it is a system that has deviated off track and obviously is focused on a woman. it is probably easy for anybody to figure out what church that is because there’s only one church in the world that exalts a woman right up to the top almost to the level of deity and that woman is Mary and obviously how many churches put Mary right up there to be prayed to, to be petitioned to and so on and I think that’s easy to pick out who’s doing that.
Okay, listen. You see it okay? I believe if the male leadership invited her to do that, yes. What about heartaches and send these over to children? I think that’s okay too as long as it’s approved by the male leadership. They’re not really to be Bible teachers. If you read Titus, it tells us the list of number of things that women can teach. Let me just read that list off. I’m going to turn it to Titus and it says here the older or aged women.
Aged women, it says in verse 4 of Titus chapter 2 that they should teach the young women number one to be sober, number two to love their husbands, number three to love their children, number four to be discreet, number five to be chased, number six to be keepers at home, number seven to be good, number eight to be obedient to their own husbands and so on but nowhere there tells them to teach the Bible, tells them to teach those things to other younger women and they certainly should be doing that.
I appreciate it. All right. Thank you, Jim, for calling in from Greenup, Kentucky. And we’re now going to go to Lynn in DeBarry, Florida. And Lynn, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Okay. Hello, Dr. Lynn. Yes, ma’am. I have a question to ask you. It’s been bothering me for a long time because only saw my grandfather one time, I was four years old, and they tell me that he belonged to the masons. And I don’t. Some people say they weren’t safe.
Well, we don’t know the Lamb’s Book of Life, and I trust that your grandfather was saved, but the Masons basically teach their good deeds and their good works are going to get them in good with the God whoever that might be. They have a lot of liberty about what God they worship, but it leaves you certainly with a lot of unanswered questions and I’m afraid that unless you have anything more in the way of a written testimony or somebody who heard him say what he really believed other than believing in the masons.
You really don’t know. Unfortunately, the masons, most of them I believe are laws because they’re trusting in their works to be saved and it is I think like a religion all by itself. It’s a way to approach God by their good deeds. When I say he was buried with gloves and all that things, I don’t know if you have to bat him. Yeah. Well, we’ll just have to wait and see. And I know that that’s concerning for you, but now that he’s gone, there’s nothing we can do, and we’ll have to find out someday.
I think we’re going to be surprised sometimes about who will be there and who will not. That certainly doesn’t give us a lot of hope. If his hope and trust was in the masons, the masons couldn’t save him. Well, that’s what I was afraid of, but I hope I’m afraid that he didn’t take that oath against God. Well, obviously, the oath that they take is an oath of allegiance to the Lord. allegiance to their God, but you don’t really know what God they believe in because the G in the masons could be, it could be Mo, it could be Allah, it could be the God of the Bible, it could be any God.
And so they really are wide open to any God at all. It doesn’t necessarily mean they believe in the God of the Bible. So Lynn, I’m glad that you called in and I hope that was a little bit of help to you, but we’ll have to wait some time sometimes to find out if some of our loved ones are saved or not, because if we didn’t have it here and tell us, then we just don’t know. I’d like to get a book on him.
Well we have something here in our Resource Center, sure. We have a book I think for about $7 that really lays out the teachings of the Masons. Well he was only a grandfather I ever met and I was only four years old. Yeah, I understand your concern. I’m sorry to hear that. Would you call after the program is over and you can order that. It’s only $7. We’ll chip it out to you on the masons we have. It’s a great one.
Okay. Okay. Bye bye. That was Lynn and certainly it breaks your heart if you think you have a loved one who didn’t make it. That’s why while we’re living, while we have opportunity, we need to make sure that our living family members know Christ and are saved. We have Nathaniel in Belgrade, Florida on the line. Welcome to Bibleline Nathaniel, turn your radio down. Okay, you’re on the air. Daniel, are you there? Yes, I am here. You’re on the air.
Good morning, Dr. Hank. Good morning. I know you’ve been teaching this even since. I know you’ve been teaching them all about the women’s preachers. Yes sir. Yes, sir? By women preaching? Yes, sir? And although the women are preaching, you are supposed to live in that? I don’t believe you’re just sitting under women teachers, but I think that women are pretty bright, are pretty bright and we can’t live without them and God created them as a compliment to man but he never intended for them to be elders, deacons or pastors.
So I believe that if you’re listening and sitting in a woman teacher that they have a tendency to go astray and so you need to be very, very careful. Most of the ones that are out there that are big names today are terribly off on doctrine and so you really need to be very very careful so I would recommend that you do not sit under the teaching of a woman preacher. I hope that helps we now have Chip in Valrico Florida and Chip welcome to Bibleline your on the air.
Hi, Dr. Wilson. Good. I just got one comment and then one question. Okay. I went to the common news last night I was on a YouTube and I was looking up at Todd Bentley and Lakeland and I did tell everybody if you have any questions if you go on YouTube and you see them with some of them run the other direction that that guy is like that’s called down angels and talk about kicking people in the face and got the ultimate you know you should keep people in the face and all those other stuff and the other thing is is I got a question if If somebody is in a faith, they mix work with the faith and you try to win.
They are not quite, but they are going to make a harness prayer to God. If they are seeking the truth and they ask God to reveal the truth to them, God will open their eyes to the truth. Many people in the devil, somebody once said this and it has really been a helpful expression for me to understand. Satan provides a heavenly way for people to go to hell. Satan provides a heavenly way for people to go to hell. So he gets you to feel comfortable in whatever belief system he gets you in.
And you just say, well, I’m happy where I’m at. I’m happy with what I believe. And they’re happy on their way to hell. And Jesus, of course, talked about that in Matthew 23 when he said if the blind lead the blind both are going to fall into the ditch. So you have those that are unsaved pastors in ministry today that aren’t saved and they’re leading their congregations to hell with them because if they are not saved and they’re attempting to teach salvation by works then their people follow that teaching The whole congregation falls into hell and that’s the fact of what’s happening.
The church I was raised in, the pastor wasn’t saved and I don’t believe anybody in that church was saved and when salvation came into my family, through my sister, we all got saved but we wound up having to leave that church because they did not believe that you could know you were saved and they thought salvation might work. So you just have to chip away and keep showing them scripture and say look, does this match up with what your church is teaching?
For me, when I saw the Bible taught salvation not of works, I recognized immediately it was not in line with my church taught and I had to say to myself, somebody is wrong. Either my church is right and the Bible is wrong or the Bible is right and my church is wrong. And I chose obviously the Bible over my church. Okay. Yeah, that, that, that, um, I, that, uh, everybody read your Bible daily. I mean, if you, if you read your Bible, yeah, artistly and, uh, well, you’ll be okay.
It’s very, very blatant. But the Bible doesn’t come out lots of different ways, Chip. It only comes out really one way. And when it comes out different ways, it’s because they don’t take the Bible literally. I was speaking on a McGill Air Force base at a banquet and there were about 300 people there and at the end of the banquet I threw it open for questions and answers which I like to do. And I noticed that there were about the questions were all coming from chaplains that were there and there were about 11 of them in the audience and only one of them seemed to be in agreement with me.
So I thought I’d ask a question. I said of you chaplains here, how many of you take the Bible to be literal? And guess what? Only one raised his hand and that was the one that was in agreement with me. So when you use this pixie dust on your Bible and you say everything is metaphorical and doesn’t mean what it really says, then you’re going to come out lots of different ways. But if you take the Bible to be literal, then you can’t do that.
You can’t wiggle. It’s quite clear that who’s so ever believeth in Christ, that is, would trust in Christ would not perish but have everlasting life. We’re going to go to Dan now in Holiday, Florida. Dan, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Lynch. I just have a question. If anywhere in the Bible does, it’s fate that we will know our loved ones up in heaven when we’re taken up or that we will know the ones that aren’t there.
That’s my question. I believe we’re going to know the ones that are there as we’ll be reunited with them. You know, the greatest reunion that will ever take place at all of time is the one that will take place at the Rapture. If you read 1st Thessalonians chapter 4, it talks specifically about loved ones that had died. And it begins in verse 13 and says, I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren concerning your loved ones which have died to their believers.
And then it talks about the event of the Rapture that at that event all of the believers from Pentecost on the Rapture are all going to meet in one place at one time up in the atmosphere above the earth with Christ and what a grand day that will be. I have only met a part of the body of Christ. Right now I’m living at this particular moment in time and I know Christians around the world. But I really don’t know everybody in the body of Christ right now that’s living.
But the body of Christ began at Pentecost and I certainly didn’t meet those of the last century or the century before that and I didn’t meet those going all the way back to the first century and I never got to shake their hand and say hi. But at the Rapture, guess what? I’m going to be shaking hands and giving high fives to every believer from the birthday of the Church at Pentecost until the day of the Rapture and what a Grand Reunion.
And obviously we’re going to know each other and that chapter is such a wonderful encouragement that says as a result in verse 18 of 1st Thessalonians 4, wherefore comfort one another with these words. Where to comfort each other and is talking in the context there of having lost loved ones that we’re going to see each other again. That’s going to be exciting. Oh what a glorious day. I appreciate that pastor. I hope you have a great day. Thank you Dan, Dan, calling in from Holiday Florida.
That phone number again, by the way, is 1-800-5763771. That’s 1-800-5763771. We’re going to go now to Dave and St. Petersburg and Dave, welcome to Bibleline we’re glad to have you on the program. Hello Patrick. This is for the caller before, as far as witnessing the people that 23-42-43 with the thief on the cross. You know what Jesus said to him, he had barely a sanctity today, thou shalt be with the imperidized. He certainly didn’t have do any works other than just thievery, but he believed on Jesus, and he’s in paradise.
Amen. I think it’s God’s illustration for us that we can use that again and again, and point out, this is the way, I think the dying thief that got saved is an illustration about how everybody who’s ever been saved or will be saved is saved and that’s just by trusting. The other thing is an example of everybody who will be lost. Those who ignore the cross and ignore what Christ did at the cross and do not trust Him will be forever lost.
Christ being in the middle of two crosses on the other side, being an illustration of affected the whole world. He’s a great one. Thank you, Dave, for sharing that with us. And that was Dave in, uh, St. Petersburg, Florida. We have Sean now and he’s in Richmond, Virginia. And Sean, welcome to the Bibleline program. What I think are you doing? Good. Yeah, question off. Well, 2nd Timothy 2.15, the virtue referring to his talking to believers. And it tells us that we are to study.
It’s really something that God wants every believer to do. A lot of people casually read their Bible every now and then, but this talks about a little bit more effort put forth, that we’re to study it. And we’re to study it in order that we might know what to do as workmen. He doesn’t want us to study to become a bookworm, but he wants us to be workmen. Busy, doing things for God that are going to get God’s approval, that God will reward and bless, and that we need to obviously practice rightly dividing the word of truth.
That is setting the truth of God’s word and right order, not mixing everything up. So many people mix things up. They don’t discern between salvation, which is what God does for us through Christ at the cross, and the Christian life, which is our response in love and gratitude and thankfulness for what He did for us. We choose to serve Him and we can earn rewards based upon our faithful service, but salvation has nothing to do with our service. Our service is something that we do just out of the gratitude and thankfulness of our heart that we say, and I know for myself, I said, Lord, if you were willing to die for me and you just take and think about what that means, that Jesus actually died on the cross and he gave his life.
If he was willing to do that for me, the least I I can do is open up my mouth and tell somebody else about him and about that great love and share with somebody else. And that’s what motivates us to serve me. But I’m not serving Christ or on the radio or telling people about the Lord because I’m trying to earn my way to heaven. I’m already saved. There’s nothing that can undo my salvation. It’s eternal life that I have.
Now I can lose out on rewards that I could earn and I can incur God’s discipline upon my life if I’m delinquent but I cannot lose my salvation because I’m not the one that’s keeping it. The Lord is the one that keeps me safe. So, when you get into the Bible as a believer, first of all, you need to ask the Lord to help you understand the Scriptures because they are spiritually discerned. And as you begin to take time in the Word of God every day as a believer, God is going to speak to you through the Bible and you’re We’re going to obviously learn new things every day.
I learn every day. I’m still learning the Bible. It’s an unending quest. I get thrilled every time I get into the Bible to wow, there’s new things there for me to discover. There’s no one on the planet that has ever fully conquered the Bible. And that tells you that God has to be the author because it’s way beyond all of us. He’s made it such that he can feed our soul and satisfy our deepest needs and will never be able to fully conquer it because his thoughts are higher than our thoughts and his ways higher than our ways.
And so we need to get into his word and thoroughly digest it and take it in. We sure do thank you for calling in. We have now Henry down in Miami, Florida and Henry welcome to Bibleline you’re on the area. and how you doing that for instance? Good. My question is, I know maybe, maybe is the model of just Christ’s flesh, but my thing is that did God create a discret and put it inside a movie or did God use Mary’s egg to create a discret?
Well he used her egg. God impregnated that egg. The Bible says Mary said, how can this be? How can I become pregnant when I know not a man? And the Bible says that the power of the Holy Spirit overshadows the, and the Holy Spirit would be the father of that child, and therefore that child shall be called a holy. And obviously this was the child that would be called the son of God. So God Basically is the father. But that would make you just Christ.
There is bodily from a human being. Well, his body was, yes, he was a human related to the human race. And if you read Luke’s Gospel, it tells us that on Mary’s side, the flesh, his flesh was related to back to Adam. But he did not have the sinful nature of Adam passed on him because that’s passed on through the man. And Joseph was not his father. He was sinless because of the virgin birth because God was the one that followed the child, but the flesh was actually born of Mary and was related to Mary.
Thank you Henry. We don’t have any more time today. We’re out of time again Bible I need your prayers and your support we’re in a time when the summer when things are thin and We could use your help could you call and give a gift today to help my blind stay on the ear in your area Would you pray for Bibleline every day? We certainly would covet that. We don’t pay any salary, so your money’s gonna go further than any other ministry that I know of.
And I hope you’ll join us again tomorrow. I hope you’ll keep looking up as we believe Jesus is coming soon. And I’m Dr. Anchlinson saying goodbye for today, but we’ll be back again tomorrow here on Bibleline. So join me then. God bless and have a wonderful day. We’ve had fun again being with you today on Bibleline. I think God that we’re able to be able to do this, it’s really a miracle of God, the fact that we’re on the air. We started out with a 15 minute program and we didn’t know how we were able to pay for that. We didn’t know how we could pull that off and with God’s blessing expanded to a half hour and we didn’t know how we’d pay for the half hour and we didn’t know how we’d be able stay on the air and then got open the door for an hour and we didn’t know how we could pay for that.
We didn’t know how we’d be able to pull that off and the Lord, of course, enabled us to be able to be on. And then we decided to go on another station and the Lord opened that door and then another station and another station. And the Lord has taken care of us all along the way. But He’s done it through people just like you who listen the program, enjoy the program and want to see you continue. Without you, the listeners help, without your partnership.
We really couldn’t be on the air. And we’re really a rather unique ministry because our heart is really in this thing and we are giving it our all. We don’t pay any salary so we just really are able to reach out further than a normal ministry could because we don’t have all that overhead. And we were able to be, as I say, lean and mean and be able to be a real fighting machine for God. Would you pray for us?
Would you help Bibleline? If you could call and give a gift to Bibleline, it would be so appreciated. It’s summer time. This is a time when it could release your help. And we would appreciate your prayers if you can’t give. We love you just as much, but if you could give it would be an investment I think in souls and in eternity and God would richly reward you for your part and I want to thank you in advance God bless you all of you who pray all of you who give we get notes and letters and people that tell us they pray for us every day And that just humbles me and I thank God because I know that’s why we’re on the air Thank you.
I’m Dr. Engleman’s room. I have to say goodbye. We’re out of time, but we’ll be back Lord willing tomorrow or join me then. Would you? And keep looking up as we watch the Christ’s return.
