And if you can’t, you can come by on a worship day.

We’d love to have you for a worship on a Sunday or a Wednesday and this Sunday would be a great Sunday to come. By the way, this Sunday we’re having a baptism at three in the afternoon. If you have not been water baptized since you’ve been saved, you ought to be. We would be happy to include you if you would like to be baptized with us in our servers at 3 in the afternoon. Just call and get your name on the list and get directions.

We’ll include you this Sunday afternoon in that baptism. That’s at 3. Water baptism doesn’t save you. Water cannot wash away your sin. The Bible tells us only the blood of Christ could wash away your sin. But it’s an act of obedience as a Christian as we have testimony to the fact that we’ve been cleansed of our sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. Hopefully, if you are able to, you might check out on our website on the online bookstore as a vertical banner on every page.

And you can click on our Bibleline music for children. We have six CDs of children’s music that’s quite delightful. And what is so nice is that you can have your child, your grandchild, your nephew, your niece, you can have their name put into that CD so that they’ll hear it about 45 times. This has really worked with my granddaughter. She’s two years old and they put her name in there and it begins by telling her how she’s special, how God loves her.

She loves this thing. You know, her life just stops when she hears this CD. You can actually go on our website and sample it. You can actually type in the name of your child, grandchild nephew or niece and sample what it will sound like with their name in it. Can you imagine turning that on on your CD player and they hear their name and they hear their name ringing out that they’re special, that God loves them. And my granddaughter’s memorized all these songs already and loves to sing them and her world just stops.

And it’s just facilitated the opportunity for me to be able to talk to her about the Lord. Well, we’re gonna add some more CDs of music to the Bible and music for children for Christmas. So keep in mind that’s coming up too and we’ll announce that when it happens. But right now we have six different albums and they’re for children up to about 12 years of age. Take a listen by going to BibleLineMinistries.org. Go to the online bookstore and on the right side of every page, there’s a vertical banner, click on that, you’ll be able to sample the CDs.

I’m telling you, it works. It certainly has got me convinced that this is a powerful tool for winning your children, your grandchildren, your nephews and nieces at the Christ. and you might want to get them a gift for Christmas or for their birthday or for some holiday or just get it. They will really enjoy what an investment to get them to come to know the Lord as their Savior. Well, we also have a lot of things in our Resource Center for you.

We have the Scofill Bible. We have all the different commentaries that I recommend. Lots of different evangelism tools, a handbook on personal evangelism, which is in Spanish and English. We have tracks that work in Spanish and English, and lots of great things, and I hope you’ll take advantage of that too. We’ll be glad to send you a sample if you want to take a look at what they look like and give it a try, and you might want to order some for your own evangelism when you go out and leave them in the marketplace with people and so on and lead people to Christ.

Well, I’m Dr. Angeline Fomen, this is Bible item. We’re gonna be talking about the Bible now for a few minutes, and we’re going to take our callers. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. We’ve got several people already lined up to go on the air. We’ve got lots of unfair questions, and you’re welcome to call and get up on the lineup here so we can get to you in just a minute. Let me just say a brief word about Calvinism. A lot of people hold that there are three positions.

Armenianism, which basically all Armenians have believed, basically you can work for your salvation and you can lose your salvation. And obviously, I believe that’s a wrong position. The other position is the kind of the counterpart Calvinism, where they believe you can do nothing to earn it, but they also believe you can’t do anything to receive it. God picks out who He’s going to save and who He’s not going to save. And I don’t believe that position is acceptable. There’s another position called universalism where supposedly everybody goes to heaven, nobody goes to hell.

That’s pretty popular and a lot of people seem to gravitate toward universalism but that’s certainly not biblical. Not everybody will go to heaven. There are people who go to hell. Well, what do you do then? Where do you fit yourself? Well, I believe there’s a fourth position. That’s right. There’s a fourth position. What is that fourth position? I believe it’s the biblical position. In other words, you can follow the teachings of men, James Armenius and Armenianism or John Calvin and Calvinism or universalism, or you can stick with the Bible.

I think the Bible is the right option. Calvinism can easily be remembered, the five points of it, by the acronym TULIP. Now, TULIP When you look at the five points, T stands for total depravity, and the Calvinist teaches that we are fallen as Adam sinned the garden, and we’ve all become sinners, and certainly we agree with all of that, and everybody is a sinner and so on. And of course the Bible teaches that we’re born spiritually dead into this world.

So the Calvinist teaches, because you’re spiritually dead and a dead man can’t do anything that And a dead man cannot even believe. And so obviously, God has to pick you out. That’s certainly not scriptural, but it’s interesting that they make that point. Let me give you a great reference. You might want to write this down as far as whether to the T for total depravity is true or not. I certainly believe we’re depraved. I believe we’re sinners. The Bible says that all of sin have come short of the glory of God.

In John’s Gospel, there’s an interesting verse where the Bible does tell us that dead people can hear the gospel. They can hear the word of God and can respond and can become saved. John chapter 5, you’ll notice it says in verse 25, Verily, verily, I say unto you, the hour is coming and now is when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live.” Now that way here, there means to hear responsibly that you hear responding to the voice and believe the voice that is speaking to you and that’s the voice of Christ or the Word of God.

Let me read it again. Christ says very, very, I say unto you, the hour is coming and now is when the dead in Christ, or rather the dead rather, shall hear the voice of the Son of God and they that here shall live. So here’s the Bible, it’s clear that a dead person that is spiritually dead can hear. A lot of people that are walking around the streets and maybe people that live in your home, people that are family members don’t know the Lord and if that’s true they’re spiritually dead even though they’re walking around.

And of course the Bible can penetrate. That’s why I believe that when you’re witnessing to somebody you need to give them scripture. don’t give them your opinion, but tell them, here’s what the Bible says and quote it, I try to quote the Bible often because the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. It is the Word that brings about the new birth when a person puts their trust in Jesus Christ’s Savior. And here Jesus plainly tells us in John 5.25 that a dead person, spiritually dead, that is, can hear the voice of the Son of God, and those that hear shall live.

That is those that hear believing it. Look at verse 24 where Jesus says in John 5, 24, barely, barely, I say unto you, he that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me has everlasting life shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death unto life. So that person that was spiritual debt is now spiritually alive when they hear the word of God and believe the words of Christ as they’re given. So I love to quote John 3 16.

I love to quote John 647. I love to quote any of the quotes from Christ about the gospel. And I know they can hear the voice of the Son of God. And I know they can respond. And I know they can become saved. So the first point of Calvinism, I reject as it is usually presented. I do believe we are depraved. I do believe we are sinners in need of a Savior. I do believe we’re spiritually dead, but I do believe that the Word of God can penetrate that dead person and they can hear and they can respond and they can become saved.

The second part of the tool of his T.U. U. stands for unconditional election. Now that is wonderful in one sense because it means that our salvation is not based upon our works, it’s not based upon our deeds which is accurate. That’s what the Bible says. Salvation is not of yourself. It’s the gift of goddess not of works lest any man should boast Ephesians two eight at nine But the Calvinist says it’s not even conditioned upon belief that you don’t have to Believe ought to be saved and that’s not true Certainly, the Bible teaches that you believe and then God saves you, but the Calvinist teaches that God saves you first.

He picks you out and saves you, and then you believe as a consequence. So in other words, they don’t believe that you’re saved by believing or trusting Christ. You’re saved by being chosen and saved by God prior to you believing, in that you believe as a consequence. Obviously, I believe that’s out of order. In fact, the Bible very clearly tells us that we are saved when we believe. Let me just give you an interesting reference by the way that is oftentimes misquoted in reference to predestination and Calvinism.

It’s in the book of 2 Thessalonians, and you might want to mark this one down. It says in verse 13 of chapter 2 of 2 Thessalonians, we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, be loved of the Lord because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation.” Now most people stop right there, by the way the verse isn’t over yet, but they say look at that, God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation.

What they don’t continue to read is through sanctification of the Spirit that’s God’s part and our part belief in the truth. When you believe the truth about Christ or that Christ is the truth the way of the life. When you trust Him as your only hope of heaven, God saves you. So God before the foundation of the world chose to save all that would believe, but He didn’t make your choice for you. So obviously again, unconditional election as often presented is not true.

It’s true that we’re not conditioned, saved based upon our church membership or our behavior or our obedience is not by works, but it is dependent upon our belief. John 3 16 says it for God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son. Whosoever, whosoever what believeth you must believe and then you become saved. It is not the way the Calvinist teaches that you get saved as God chooses you and saves you and then you believe. The third point of Tulip is limited atonement and that says that God didn’t waste any bullets.

In other words, He didn’t die for the people that would not be chosen. He only died for the elect of the ones that God chose. And so only those that were chosen by God did Christ die for and He didn’t die for the rest. Well, that doesn’t fly with the Bible. Let me give you a great reference. 1 John chapter 2, verse 2 says that Jesus is the propitiation that means the satisfying sacrifice for our sins, first John 2, 2, and not for our sins only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

How do you get around that? Obviously, Calvinism is wrong. Christ did die for the sins of every man, woman, and child that would ever live. And God has made it possible for all that would believe to be saved. And that would mean if every human being believed or trusted Christ, they would all be saved. But he didn’t die just for an elect few that he chose in advance. So I reject the third point of Calvinism. And I don’t have any more time to discuss this today.

So I kind of leave this open. Maybe we’ll pick it up on Monday. But I’m Dr. Englundsroom. Bibleline to be saved. You must trust Christ. Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world. And yes, we are spiritually dead, but we can hear and respond to the Word of God and trust Christ. I hope you’ve done that. In the moment you trust Christ God saves you eternally. We’re now going to go to the phone lines at numbers 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to Kevin in Largo, Florida.

And Kevin, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. Good morning. I’ve been suffering some mild persecution at work, and I went on the internet to see what kind of response I could have as a Christian, and they came across the Comfort Ministries article where in part of it they cite 2 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 4 and 5. I was wondering, I don’t really understand how that applies to what they talk about here. I was wondering if you could explain those two verses.

Well, really what it’s saying is that be patient because God was going to one day take care of those who have persecuted you. You know, one of the greatest sins that the unbeliever can commit is, of course, unbelief to die without Christ, which will send them to hell. But also, when they persecute or try to prevent the gospel from being preached, then God is going to one day judge them when he comes back and they’ll receive a degree of punishment based upon what they have done.

So he’s telling here these believers at Thessalonica that don’t worry about your suffering here. Jesus Christ, when he comes back, will recompense tribulation or trials to them that trouble you. So they’re going to obviously pay a price for doing that. There’s some other verses that are quite powerful too that say something similar along that line. As Paul talked about, persecution. In fact, over in chapter 1 of 1st of Soladians, it talks here about those that have persecuted these people and he talks about how that they were 16 of chapter 2, forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins always for the wrath of God has come upon them to the uttermost.

So there you find that they’re going to get the worst punishment in hell that you could get because they forbade the gospel to be preached and hindered Paul in the giving out of the gospel of message of Christ. So in other words God is going to take care of them one day. But basically every person that’s going to speak up for Christ will suffer persecution. So to know that that is par for the course is kind of comforting in a way.

In 1 Timothy 3, it says, all that will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. That’s 2 Timothy 3. Let’s see. That’s verse 12. Yay, all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. So you’re going to have people take a hit at you. But you’re on the right track and on the right side and God is going to reward you for your persecution. You know in the Beatitudes, it’s as blessed are they that are persecuted for my sake.

And it talks about the rewards they’ll receive in heaven as a result. Hope that helps a little bit. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome. And that was Kevin. We now have Bill in Pinellas Park and Bill, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello. Hey Bill. Hey, good morning Dr. Acke, how are you? Good. Good. I’ve got a couple questions for you. Maybe you can help me. I know this term, Repent of Sin. I know that the English translation is to me.

I know that that is not in the Bible. We relate that to my people who are called by my name and humble themselves and pray and seek my faith and turn from their wicked ways. So Jeremiah 26 and three. Right. Well, first of all, that verse is most often misapplied. It’s talking about my people. That’s the nation of Israel. And it was, of course, the nation of Israel. Speaking of them as God’s redeemed to people the Old Testament and if they would turn towardidated ways, it has to do with the Christian life.

That God would bless them. You know, as a Christian, as you live for Christ and live pure, God will bless you. But if you’re going to live disobedient and in willful sin, the Bible says that God will chase in you or discipline you and it’s not talking about being saved. It’s not a salvation verse. And so you become saved by just simply trusting Christ, but then second chronicles of 714. And by the way, most people apply it to the United States.

If the United States were just turned from their sins and whatever that we would have God heal our land. And it’s not really even talking about the United States. It’s talking about my people and it’s talking about Israel. The nation of Israel had departed from the Lord. God was going to chase them and discipline them and he did. But if they had cleaned up their act and turned from their sins, God would have healed the land of Israel and blessed them in their land.

And it’s really talking about that. Okay, same with the same hole to in Jeremiah. Yes, three then Same thing is it’s about the Christian life and it’s after we get saved obviously We God saves us just as we are I love that old hymn just as I am I come without one plea But that thy blood was shed for me and after we get saved the Holy Spirit comes into us and gives us the power to have victory over sin and as we Yield to the Holy Spirit to guide and drink our lives and live pure God will bless us Okay, and then on the glorified body, I know you said one to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord that when we die our body goes to the ground and our soul and spirit goes to be with the

Lord. My question then is when Jesus died and went down into the heart of the earth and rose again and there was a host of those, I would assume our Old Testament things that were seen walking around so they were given a body at that time I assume correct. That is exactly right that was a sampling of the resurrection that is the come what is interesting is that Christ rose on the feast of first fruit stay and the Old Testament feast typified the resurrection And…

What they would do is that they would go out into the harvest field and grab handfuls of grain, bring them before the priest and show them a sampling of the harvest that was to come. When Christ came back from the dead, He came back as the first fruit of the resurrection, but He also gave others their resurrection bodies a few, a sampling to show that the future resurrection will indeed take place and that this was a sampling of that future resurrection that will take place when He comes back for us at the Rapture.

to what happened to that body though when they go on to heaven well i i think maybe they still might have their’s i don’t know we we just aren’t told okay andy uh… the story about the rich man and latherist when he said he lifted up his eyes and thought a bramma far off that that’s not the meat like he’s having a body you know because i thought i and to do his you know at lather at the dippet finger in the water So how would you explain that?

Okay, I’m gonna have to catch up right after the break because we’re coming up right on our break. It goes so quickly. I’m Dr. Englund’s from Mrs. Pivaline. We’re gonna take a short break. By the way, we are listeners supported. And if you could help us, as we finish out August, this is the lean summer months, and we’re running a little behind it. We’d really help us call and give a gift by credit card over the phone. Would you?

We’re gonna take a break. We’ll be right back and we’ll do a second half hour and we’ll finish that question of bills as we get back. Don’t go away, Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Engle, this has been it’s great to be with you today, and I’m hoping you’re enjoying this Friday program. And we want you to know that we enjoy being with you every weekend here.

The whole week is flown by. We’ve had some great programs, and I hope you’ll go back and listen to them on the internet. You can go to BibleLineMinistries.org, click on the spinning globe on the homepage and you’ll be able to catch all of this week’s programs. They’re all sitting there waiting for you. So why don’t you check that out? You can also, of course, catch our worship service live on Sunday by clicking on that camera. And if you do it at 11 o’clock, The audio and the video comes up.

Those are powerful, powerful tools for winning your children, your grandchildren, your nephews, your nieces, the Christ. Get one of those for the… It’s a few dollars and you’ll have an investment that might be the key that opens them up to trust the Lord of Savior. I know my little girl granddaughter, we talk about the Lord all the time and it’s really been, I think, facilitated by her hearing these CDs that just tell her that she’s special and that God loves her and it’s been wonderful.

I’m so glad that the Lord allowed me to discover these and make them available to you as well. We’re You’re going to go to Israel if you would like the brochure. We can mail it out to you. That’ll be February 23, 2009. If the Lord doesn’t snatch us out here this year, we’re going to try to go and you can call and we’ll get your name and address and mail you a brochure. If you’re in a hurry and you can’t even wait that long, go to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org.

And if you click on the Bibleline news, it’s right there on the homepage just above the camera. There’s the camera and there’s a spinning globe and in between that it says Bible and news click on that then it’ll say Israel tour brochure click on that and you’ll be able to see the full brochure and print it out on your printer. I hope you’ll think about it and maybe go with me this coming February. I’m Dr. Anglinson we’re gonna now go back and rejoin the stations that have been on break and do a second half hour of Bible and to keep you ready to write where it is is here we go.

You’d like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline and it’s great. To be with you on this Friday, hard to believe this week is flown by. Wow, and here we are in the final day of the week. But guess what, in the Tampa Bay area we’re on seven days a week. We play the best of on Saturday and Sunday.

And if you have internet, you can catch our programs 24-7 so you can just listen all week in long to pass programs and enjoy from wherever you might be in the world. And by the way, you can catch our worship services as well. And we hope you’ll do that. This is Friday. I hope you go to church someplace this weekend. And guess what? This is a great Sunday to come visit me if you’re in driving distance. We are having a dinner.

It’s our third Sunday dinner. And right after the worship service, the 1030 service, we’ll have some great home-cooked food, great fellowship. It’ll be a nice time to get to meet one another, sit down and enjoy some good food and good fellowship. And you’re welcome to come and be my guest, bring your Bible, your family, your appetite, and come at 10.30 for the service. Stay then for the lunch, and on top of it all, we’re having a baptism this Sunday afternoon at three.

And if you have not been water baptized, we will be glad to include you in this baptism service. I want you to call, get your name on the list, and get the instructions and directions. But we’d love to have you. You can make it a day if you’re driving any distance. said, just come in the morning for the service. Stay for the lunch. Hang out with us for a little bit and we’ll motorcade to the baptism site just a little bit north by my headquarters.

And it’s at a church members home. It’s a beautiful lake, beautiful lawn under shaded trees and the grass goes right down to the water’s edge and there’s a nice soft sandy gentle slope in the lake and we’ll take you out there and pamtize you. And it’ll be a beautiful and wonderful, memorable experience. But again, remember water baptism doesn’t save you. So if you were never water baptizing, so be safe. But you know the Lord asked us to be baptized.

It’s an open testimony that you’ve been cleansed of your sin by the blood of Christ. And you’re gonna find that ours will be a very biblical baptism outdoors in a natural setting, you know, like, and very probably similar to what happened in Acts 8 with the Ethiopian Munich. Because there was a body of water and they went in and he baptized, Philip baptized this gentleman. Anyway, call us and we’ll include you. It’ll be wonderful. And if not, just come by for the day and enjoy us.

But if you live in another city and you can’t come to the services, guess what? You can visit our service live on the internet. So click on that camera at 11 a.m. and you’ll catch the service live or go back and watch them on the archive section and hold years where the servants are waiting there. We are going to plan a trip to Israel if the Lord doesn’t snatch us out this year. He could take us out though. I tell you, the news every day seems to have me up on the edge of my chair ready to go.

And it could be the Lord will catch us out. But if not, we will plan to go. You can get a brochure by calling and we’ll mail that right out to you today. And if you can’t wait, you can go to the internet and see it right there. If you go to Bibleline News on the homepage, just right there above the camera, click on Bibleline News and then it’ll say Israel Tour brochure, click on that and you’ll be able to print it out on your printer.

But if you really want a real nice brochure right from a professional printer, you can call and we’ll mail that to you and you can make your decision. We need to have, I believe everybody to make a decision. Think by October 1st, we could probably squeeze you in after that, but the way airlines are working nowadays, the seats may not be reserved after that. So we didn’t get people to make a decision by October 1st. That’s coming up right around the corner.

So take a look at the brochure and make your choice about going in February with us if you’d like to go. We’re going to get back to our callers and you’re welcome to call in. All of our lines are lighted up, but try and keep calling and that’s 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. give us a call and we’ll try to answer your question. We were talking to Bill just a moment ago from Pinellas Park, Florida and he was asking about the Richmond and Lazarus who died.

One was saved, one was lost. It’s in Luke 16 beginning at verse 19 and both of them are seen in the heart of the year at the Richmond went to a place of torment. The Lazarus the beggar went to paradise. Christ emptied that place out. Upon his death barrel resurrection, Christ went to the heart of the years for three days and three nights. He told the dying thief today they’ll show me with me in paradise. So we know that he went there where the believers were, and now they’ve been taken up to heaven.

So believers now are absent from the body, present with the Lord. And the point is the resurrection really hasn’t happened yet. How does it seem to talk to them about having a body? The rich man wanted water to cool the tip of his tongue. We don’t really have a good answer for that, but the Bible talks about in 1 Corinthians 15 about apparently a spiritual body that is a prelude to our getting our resurrection body. It’s an incredible chapter, 1 Corinthians 15, the resurrection chapter, and you’ll find it talks about a spiritual body, and then it talks about the event in verse 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, about the rapture Christ coming back and getting our new physical body.

So I don’t know how to give you a good answer on that but apparently there’s some type of form that they had and they could experience pain as the rich man did. Lazarus was in a place of comfort but the rich man was in torment. So best I can do Bill for right now and we’ll wait until we get to to find out the true answer. We’re now going to go to Janice and Janice is in Tampa. Janice, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Janice, you’re on the air. Hello, Janice. Hi, Janice, you’re on the air. Hi, good morning. I’m calling to answer two questions for me. I’m going to listen up here. What you think about these two are terrain, dire and lowest Do you ever heard of them? I’m not too sure who they are. Are they on television, Levandos or something? They do, but also too. There are things we call even jellipus christian. Do you know anything about even jellipus christian? I don’t know anything about them, but if you’ll talk about operator, we’ll get their name and we can kind of research it for you.

but also could you explain what is evangelical christians well suppose that means that they have analyzed that means they give out the gospel now every christian ought to be evangelizing or giving out the gospel but uh… obviously uh… because most churches are really evangelizing there are some who try to say well i want you know we evangelize that we call themselves evangelical christians and uh… it ought to be true of every believer but it’s not But that doesn’t necessarily tell us about their doctrine.

So there are people who use that title that they evangelize, but they aren’t necessarily evangelizing one of the correct message. So you have to be really on guard. And, Genesis, we’ll try to help you. I’m gonna have my operator pick up the call and get that information down. We’ll try to find out for you. Thank you. And now we’re gonna go to Yvonne in Tampa, Florida. And Yvonne, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Hi, I wanted to ask you about the gift of tongues and the companion gift of interpretation.

On the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was first given in that manner, it said that every man heard them speaking in his own tongue. And there was no need for any sort of supernatural gift of interpretation. Then we find Paul giving the church instructions in Corinth the proper use of a supernatural gift of interpretation when tongues was manifested in the church services, what was the need for a companion gift of interpretation to interpret the tongues in the church services?

Why? Okay, that’s a good question. Actually, what happened in Pentecost? You have 16 countries, they’re name by name of the many different people that were there at Pentecost, or the Feast of Pentecost, when Pentecost, the event of the Holy Spirit and dwelling the believer, occurred. And it wasn’t the gift of hearing, but it was the gift of speaking. And they spoke in the specific dialects. of those different countries that were represented and obviously they were speaking to the right people.

What happened in Corinth is that they were speaking to the wrong people. They were speaking in a foreign language that nobody in the Corinthian church understood and therefore it needed to be interpreted. I’m sure there were circumstances where somebody who had the gift might be speaking to somebody who did have that language but others listening didn’t understand it. It was really never intended to be used in the church. And Paul said, if you use it in church, there are certain rules of apply.

Two or three at most. You weren’t to have more than three people max ever speaking tongues. And then one at a time, and then also which is interesting, if it were enforced today, the whole movement, that’s the modern movement would die. And it says, let your women keep silence in the churches, verse 34. women were not to say a word, a peep, a little teeny noise even in tongues in the church. They were forbidden. And of course, 95% of the people doing it today is women.

But what they’re doing today is not the biblical gift. It is a gibberish. The way you can know is 1 Corinthians 14-9 says, except you speak by the tongue words, easy to be understood. How shall it be known when it’s spoken? You speak into the air. the gift was to be able to clearly be understood by the hearer, but what the Corinthian believers did, because they were acting childish, it says that over in verse 20 and 21 and so on, it says that they were showing off this gift and speaking in a language that the people in the church didn’t understand, and they should have been speaking Greek, but they weren’t.

And so Paul then tells them that the real purpose of the gift and they were using it wrongly to use it in the church was for evangelism. Verse 22 says, tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not. So it’s to be used with unbelievers. I can’t find people today that have the gibberish that want to use it with unbelievers. I usually tell them, get in my car, let’s go to the mall, and I’ll get you a crowd, I’ll introduce you, and then go ahead and do your tongue, what you call tongues, which is gibberish.

And if it’s the real gift, have revival. Nobody yet. I’ve done this for 30 years. Nobody’s ever gotten in the car with me. I even promised a mistake dinner at the end of it because it said this will be great. Well, I will see. I will have a revival, but nobody wants to go. The gift today is a counterfeit. It’s not the real gift. But that was the reason it was if they insisted on using it, then they had to to interpret it, and so that’s what they did there in the Caribbean Church.

But that’s what I’m saying that doesn’t make sense because what Paul didn’t say, he didn’t say quit using the gift of tongues because you’re talking to the wrong people, just quit using it unless you’re talking to the right people. Instead, he instructed them not to forbid the speaking of tongues, but to make sure that there was someone there with the companion supernatural gift of interpreting the tongues. So he was encouraging them to use these tongues decently in an order, but to make sure that there was someone that had a supernatural ability to interpret them.

So he was expecting that this gift would be used. He didn’t criticize them for using it. He criticized them for not using it when there was no one with a supernatural gift of interpreting it? Well he did say in verse 2 that they really weren’t going to be using it in the church and he only gave them those rules if they insisted on doing that anyway. In verse 2 he tells them that if you speak in a language unknown to the hearer in the church which is what they were doing then it says that nobody understands you.

Now God does because he understands all languages but nobody else will understand you so it says you just speak into the air. And obviously you are wasting everybody’s time and that’s exactly what verse 9 also goes on to say. But apparently also if you were in a mixed group and somebody was conversing with somebody in a specific language or dialect, then for the others to have the benefit it would be to the advantage to have it interpreted for everybody there to be able to understand.

If you notice verses 14 through 16 it says if If you sing in a foreign language that nobody understands, then somebody needs to interpret the song so they’ll know what you’ve sung. I know we have visioners from time to time and they’ll sing in the foreign language where they minister and nobody in our church understands that at all. then they’ll… They’ll interpret what they just sang so that we can have the benefit of it. That’s what they’re talking about.

Or if you pray in a foreign language, and we have missionaries oftentimes that will do that and demonstrate the language, but then they interpret it for us so that we understand what they just prayed for and how they are talking to people in their native language We have a conversation about the language in a foreign language and we have missionaries oftentimes that will do that and demonstrate the language but then they interpret it for us so that we understand what they just prayed for and how they are talking to people in their native language in their foreign country and then interpreting for us on our benefit that are not in that two way country.

conversation there between those who understand the language and those who speak the language that were outside the loop they would interpret it for us of the weekend benefit know what they sing know what they are praying and and and they’ll maybe get us a picture or video of some of a worship service and they’ll say here’s what we said and and for the benefit of everyone else I hope that helps Yvonne He told them not to forbid the speaking of tongues.

Well that’s because the gift was still operative, but today nobody is speaking in tongues. There’s not a soul on the planet that’s doing the biblical gift of tongues. Today what everybody is doing is a gibberish that’s not understood by the speaker or the hearer or not able to be interpreted because it’s not a language. There are many books out that have exposed this and you have these modern day meetings of taking the tongues-speaking utterances taken to modern linguists and they said there’s no language here at all.

It’s just a pure gibberish, which by the way is done by all the world religions. There is nobody today speaking in the biblical gift of tongues. This modern thing is a…and the Bible said it would cease in. nearly 2,000 years ago and Church History verifies that and this modern upsurge called tongues is not the movement at all and we thank you for your call we’re now going to go to Robert in Tampa Robert welcome to Bible and you’re on the air Robert hello Robert turn your radio down Robert we’re gonna go hello Robert you’re on the air I just want to turn my radio off here after yes I have two questions if it’s okay if they’re not too long have one but Ecclesiastes nine five or says the dead oh nothing okay living no no they’ll die but the dead know nothing now what all right what it’s talking about there

is about the in heaven or if they go to Hades they don’t know anything about what’s taking place back here on the earth I have that question asked all the time of a funeral does my mother can she watch me can she see me Can she come to my bedside? The answer is no. Once a person dies, their absent room in the body present with the Lord if they’re a Christian, if they’re an unbeliever, they’re present in Hades and they don’t come back and they’re not aware of anything that happens here.

Except I believe believers in heaven will learn of those in the family or others that get saved and rejoice over their salvation and look forward to being able to see their loved ones coming to meet to them in heaven. But it really is talking about knowledge of what’s happening here on the earth. They don’t know a thing about what’s going on here. They don’t know the current news. They’re not watching CNN or Fox News or any other network, MSNBC, DC.

They are not on their computers seeing events that are happening here on the earth. They won’t know a thing until we arrive with them and then we’ll obviously be able to enjoy them forever. far worth having in the earth god she’lls them from that and it up to say i was going on that some type of uh… probably did my experience that’s it absolutely what about uh… what about uh… like he was nine twenty seven says it’s a point of demand wants to die but then you have uh…

who was it a lie-joh and uh… you know that that never did die and they were uh… translated into heaven exact ever tasting death and then they’re the exception and uh… there’s gonna be a whole group that’s an exception that is all those in the rapture uh… will never die christ book about that in uh… john eleven twenty six he talked about how he is the resurrection and the life and those who die will be resurrected by christ but then he says in verse twenty six and who’s whoever live with and believe it in me shall never die in other words if you’re living and you’re a believer at the time of his return you’ll be caught up to medium and never die but be transformed into your new body.

Dr. Hank Lindstrom. So there will be a big exception to the rule which Enoch was a picture of the Rapture. He was caught out just before the judgment of the flood upon the earth and just as he was caught up before the flood. So will we the believers be caught up before the judgment of the tribulation period. And so he was a clear picture or type of the Rapture and we who are in the Rapture will be exempted from death and never die.

Okay, all right. Well, thank you very much. You’re very welcome Robert and thank you for that call and we’re now going to go to Mark in St. Clair Minnesota and mark Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes. Hello. Hi Hi, this past election. Yes, it is you’re on the air Yeah, hi Pastor Lindstrom. Hi. I’m calling from St. Clair Shores, Michigan and I had a question I had a question from revelations and it’s a Resitting on the Seven Mountains Well the woman I believe is the religious system of the tribulation period Which I believe is the?

System that is the worship of a mother and her child if you’ll notice on her forehead It says mystery Babylon the Great and if you go back to Genesis chapter 10 and you have a man named Nimrod, and he was a wicked man, and his wife made him look like a good guy. His wife was named Simoramis. Supposedly, she had a virgin-born son, and she called him Tamuz. And this system has been ever with us ever since. And wherever it went, it remained the same, but the names changed.

And so this system in Egypt was Ices and Horace. The mother was Isis, the son was Horus. In Italy it was Venus and Cupid. Venus was the mother, Cupid was the child. In Greece it was Aphrodite, was the mother, and the child was Eros. In the land around Israel it was Astroth and Bail. By the way Astroth, the short form is Astrar, the English form is Easter. So Easter is the mother of Baal, and obviously we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, not the mother of Baal, but that system has come down to us in Christianity.

And in the fourth century, when Constantine declared the world to be Christian, all of a sudden the names changed again, and now all of a sudden the woman becomes Mary, and the baby becomes Jesus. Now here in this system the mother is more dominant than the son. And so in, for example, Roman Catholicism you see how that Mary has prayed to. Mary is adored. Mary is called the co-redemptress, the spouse of the Holy Spirit, and given titles that are unbiblical, she’s called the Queen of Heaven, the Queen of the Universe.

And these are all titles you see in the Bible as described to the mother of Baal. And this system that is built upon, it is also a city. If you look over at verse 18, the seven mountains are a city as well as a religious system. So there’s only one city in the world that meets that description. By the way, I have a number of Catholic Bibles here in my presence. Roman Catholic commentaries say that this is talking about Rome, but they have the historic view of Revelation that this is already fulfilled in the 80s 70 with Nero and so they don’t see themselves in it today.

But if you read chapter 17 it tells us there that the nations there will actually come to war against Jesus. This obviously hasn’t happened yet, and that’s still to be fulfilled. Hopefully that helps a little bit, but I believe it turns out to be the world church under the headship of the Roman Catholic Church. It’s there very much, and thank you very much, and God bless you. All right, thank you. And that’s a quick summary there, but you notice the colors are purple and scarlet?

What are the colors of the Roman Catholic Church? The cup there, called the cup of abomination, I believe is the cup used in the mass, which is obviously the exalted part that and the Eucharist are the part of the system of worship. I think it’s talked about there in Revelation 17 as well. it’s a it’s called the woman the woman the woman the woman the woman because a woman is placed. Up there next to the Godhead, as Mary has prayed to and worshipped and adored, obviously there’s no weather church system on the planet that puts a woman in that position.
