And certainly those of you that have gotten our Christmas special and are giving out those DVDs and CDs, let us know what kind of response you’re getting.
We’re going to get into the Bible for a little bit and then we’ll be of course answering your questions. So please feel free to give us a call here at 1-800-576-3771. Jesus Christ, of course, is God who came and took on human flesh. The Bible tells us that in the beginning, John chapter 1 verse 1 was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And then it tells us in verse 14, and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us.
And John says, we the disciples beheld His glory. The glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. God comes to the earth to reveal Himself to His creation and to become our Savior. As Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary as a man, a sinless man, yet being God, He He could make an infinite payment, a payment for the sins of the whole world. And we know that all those that would put their trust in Him would be saved.
Revelation 1-5 tells us about Christ unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood. The Bible is the book of the blood, and from the very beginning pages of Genesis you read about the blood that Abel slew, Lamb, and shed its blood a picture of Christ and what He would do it the cross and the Bible tells us when Abel offered up that lamb because God received that sacrifice. He obtained witness that he was righteous.
In other words, he’s already saved. He was already made righteous in the sight of God through faith in the coming Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. And when he offered up the lamb, it was a picture of what he believed that he believed that Jesus would come as the Lamb of God, and be slain to pay for the sins of the world. You know when John the Baptist saw Christ in John chapter 1, he said, Behold the Lamb of God which takeeth away the sin of the world.
Behold the Lamb of God which takeeth away the sin of the world. Christ came to take Yourson and Myson, and He paid for Yourson and my sin by his death in our place on the cross of Calvary. And when we receive Christ as the one who made that payment for our sin, God saves us. There is no salvation outside the blood of Christ. And you know, when we end heaven, we’re going to sing about this fact that we were saved and redeemed by the, and washed by the blood of Christ forever and ever and ever.
Revelation tells us that if you want to take a look at that verse it tells us in Revelation Chapter 5 and verse 9 about the believers in heaven they sang a new song Saying to Christ thou art worthy to take the book and open the seals thereof for thou was slain and Has redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred and every tongue and people and nation So we find here that we’re going to sing that new song about how we were redeemed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ out of every nation, out of every kindred and tongue, out of every people on the earth.
People all over the earth need to know Christ as their Savior. There is only one way to go to heaven. And a lot of folks don’t understand that salvation is exclusively in Jesus Christ. The only way to enter heaven is to trust Christ as your Savior. If you try to get to heaven any other way, then you won’t make it. And you know, a lot of churches have fallen into the trap of becoming just like the counterfeits that are out there in all the world religions and in the cults.
Because the one common denominator that everybody that has it wrong has in common is that they teach works for salvation. The Bible teaches the opposite. The Bible teaches that we’re not saved by works, that it is the gift of God, that it’s received by simply trusting Christ. So you can go to Church A and Church B and Church C and Church D, and yet if all those churches, ABCD, EF and G, teach works as being necessary for salvation, then what they have in common is that they’re all wrong.
That’s right. So it doesn’t matter what denominational names are. they have, if they teach works as necessary for salvation, then they’re capital W, R, O, and G wrong. Did you know that in Ephesians 2, 8, it says salvation is not of works? Let’s then he man should brag and he man should boast. And so I remember the night that I saw that for the first time when I got saved, I said to myself because my church had taught works for salvation has said somebody’s wrong.
Either my church is right and the Bible is wrong or the Bible is right and my church is wrong, my friend the authority is the Word of God. And so if you are in a church that teaches that you have to work or do something of self to be saved or to stay saved, then that’s false. The grace test, and by the way the word grace means mercy, unmerited favor, it is by definition the absence of any human merit or work on your part or my part.
the grace test is when you just close your eyes and you ask yourself, am I being tugged to do something or not do something that will affect my salvation? If you are, then that’s a false message. You see the true message points you back to the cross, and there on the cross Jesus said, it’s finished. Those three words, it is finished, are one word in the Greek. It’s an accounting term. It means paid in full. satisfaction received for the debt.
When Jesus died, He fully and completely paid for your sins and mine on the cross of Calvary. Isn’t that amazing? It’s all paid for. And that’s why we can receive eternal life while we’re living before we ever die. And we can be assured of going to heaven while we’re living because it’s a gift. But the word religion, I don’t like to use it. It comes from two Latin words, re-illigio, it means to do something of self to bind back to God.
And all religions have that common denominator that they are working to do something to bind themselves back to God. When the Bible is the opposite of religion, it is God doing for men what men could not do for himself. It’s not what we do for God that saves us. It’s what God did for us in Christ that saves them. When we trust in what Christ did for us at the cross, God saves us. Isn’t it wonderful? And you know, I didn’t know that even though I’d been raised in church until I was 18.
And for the first time I heard the gospel presented that Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe. Sin had left the crimson stain, but He washed it as wide as snow. I love that Him just as I am. But a lot of people who sing it don’t pay attention. It says just as I am I come without one plea. But that thy blood was shed for me. It’s only the blood of Christ. It’s only Christ’s blood that could satisfy God’s justice and allow you to have the gift of everlasting life.
We can’t work for it. We can’t earn it. We can’t buy it. We can’t get it by any means except by simply trusting Christ. That’s what the word faith or belief means. It means trust. The Greek word pustuo p-i-s-t-e-u-o means to trust or rely upon to put your confidence to rest your weight upon. And when you put your trust in Christ, you rest your whole eternity’s destiny on what Christ did for you at the cross. God, up in heaven, saves you.
And of course, then of course, we have the choice of choosing to live for Christ, earning rewards in heaven by living for Him once we become same. But our works have nothing to do with our salvation. Let me give you a great verse. In 1 Corinthians 3.15. It talks about the judgment when believers one day will be having their works examined. And this verse says, even if all of your works were burned up, you had nothing that was worthy of reward in your life.
You did nothing for God once you got saved. It says in 1 Corinthians 3.15, if any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, that’s loss of reward, but he himself shall be saved. Wow, that’s clearly different to what many people are teaching. For those who teach or believe in the perseverance of the saints, that goes totally against that which is a wrong doctrine. It’s a man-made doctrine. It certainly is not biblical. That verse tells us in 1 Corinthians 5, 15, that if you did nothing, you did not persevere.
You did not live for God. You did nothing worthy of reward. You would suffer loss of reward, but you would still be saved. Our salvation is not based upon our works. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. And if you haven’t, you need to do that and you can do it right now. You could just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible, but you could trust Him right now. Just say, Lord, I’m a sinner.
We all are. But I believe Jesus Christ died and paid for that sins was buried and came back again from the dead. When you trust Christ, God, God, I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I’m Dr. Englund, Mrs. Byblind. We’re going to take our calls now.
The number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771, and we’ll be glad to take your question and try to answer it here today on Byblind. And remember, we’re on five days of the week live, and on Tampa Bay, we’re on seven days of the week at ten o’clock in the morning for an hour. morning for an hour. And in some of the other areas, they play us as a bonus on the weekend. You might check and find out when those programs are aired so you can catch it on the weekend.
But certainly, if you go to the internet site, you’ll be able to catch us anytime, day or night, wherever you might be on the planet Earth. Okay, the phone number is Bibleline, 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we’re going to go ahead and catch your question. All right. You know, a lot of people bring up the question, can you lose your salvation? And the answer is no. And the reason why is because you’re not keeping it. God is the one that keeps you saved.
The moment you trust Christ, you become saved forever. In John 637 Christ says, Him that cometh of me, I will in no wise cast out. That means for no reason or in no circumstance would Christ ever cast you out once you trust Christ and save you. That’s John 637. I hope you would write it down. John 637, He will never cast you out for any reason whatsoever. That’s good news. That there are some people who seem to be clever I guess, and they say, well okay, He won’t cast me out, but can’t I cast myself out?”
And John 639 slams the lid shut on that one. Christ says, this is the Father’s will, that of all of which You have given me, I should lose none, but raise them up again at the last day. So the moment you trust Christ, you find that God is the one that keeps You saved, and Christ makes a promise, saying it’s God’s will that he would not lose anyone, not one that would come to him. Isn’t that great? That’s great news.
All right. Well, we have a lot of all fair questions here and we’ll go ahead and try to take some of those and we have people stacking up here to get on the air with us live and we’ll hold those up a minute and try to get on air with them as well. And so one of the questions we have here is I heard you say this is Tom in Lutz Florida who leaves this off-air question, I heard you say that the USA is possibly the little horn spoken of in the book of Daniel.
Please explain. I’ve heard many scholars say it is the European Union. Well, you know, it’s interesting that the little horn in Daniel seven verse eight is spoken of as a 11th country. There are 10 countries there which were clearly I believe countries that were part of the ancient Roman Empire that come together in the last days and we’ve seen that in the European Common Union. But then it talks about another. And if you have another, that means we have an 11th country.
If you have 10 eggs and you have another egg, that’s 11 eggs. So if you have 10 countries and you have another horn, another country, then there are 11. And the 11th one is spawned, it says, by the 10th. So the only country in the world that is younger than, stronger than, and spawned by the countries of Europe is, of course, the United States of America. We are the 11th country and we are therefore identical with and are the same as the little horn in Daniel 11.
The Antichrist will come out of this country and we believe that Europe and America will then come together as the Bible tells us that apparently Europe will be taken over by America militarily and then also they will together take over the Middle East. I think we can see the handwriting on the wall. We are now going to go to John. In Richmond, Virginia, John, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air.
Hey John. Yeah, I’d have shared you, uh, well I go to say about how you get saved. Just come to crash and tell him. How you sit there? Well when you trusted he died for you. Do you believe John that Christ died and paid for your sins at the cross? Yeah. Well when you believe that and the word believe means to trust when you trust that he died for your sins John past present and future at the cross was buried in rosary.
again from the dead. God knows that and He saves you the moment you trust Him. It’s that simple. Yes, pray you find it. What if you find it? Well, John 3 16 says it for God still of the world. That includes you, John, that He gave His only begotten Son, that’s Jesus Christ, that whosoever that means you, John or me or anyone else that would believe or trust in Christ, that it says we should not perish because He perished in our place, that we would have that’s a president’s verbi means right now everlasting life so when you believe the word believe means to trust when you trust in christ you’ll not perish but you’ll have everlasting life that’s all you got to do that’s it gone through sixteen what is it what do you think you have to do john i think i have to do what he told you to do
which is what he told his servant to do his keep his commandment So I don’t think you’ve got to do. You’ve got to do the pain. It’s right. You can’t get treated. If you trust and don’t do the pain, it’s right. Well, John, if you trust Christ, you become saved. Then there is a second decision to be made where you become a disciple. That’s when you live for Christ. I trusted Christ the Savior, but I didn’t become a disciple of Christ until a year later.
I was saved when I trusted Christ. A year later, I began earning rewards in heaven. When you live for Christ, you’re going to get to get paid or reimbursed or compensated for whatever you do for Christ. So if you live for Christ after you’re saved, God is going to reward you. If you don’t, you’ll suffer loss of reward, but you’re still going to be saved. Our salvation has nothing to do with works at all. Romans 4-5 says to him that does not work, but believe it on Christ who justifies the ungodly, his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness.
John, if you’re trusting in Christ plus works, you’ll not be saved at all because you’re not really trusting Christ. Let me just say, if you’re to go down to the dock and there’s a little boat there tied to the dock, are you trusting the boat if you only put one foot on the boat and the answer is no. As long as you have a foot on the dock, you haven’t trusted the boat. What if you put both feet on the boat but you’re still holding on to the dock with both hands.
You still haven’t trusted the boat. To trust Christ, you have to totally take your hands off and your feet off of the dock and put your weight fully on the little boat or in a sense put your weight or confidence fully in Christ to save you. As long as you’re trusting in some of your works to help get you there, you’ve never trusted Christ. You’re not saved. Then you couldn’t lose your salvation. That’s right because you don’t keep it.
Christ says he would not lose anyone that came to him. So if you trust Christ and become saved, which happens at the instant you trust him, then he promises that he would not lose one person. John, not one, John 639. But I can’t do something wrong, deal and stuff like that. If I’m going to be saved. You sure will, but the thing is you’ll go to heaven, sin and you’ll plan on it. You know, God will thank you. The Bible promises, no sin, don’t be in heaven.
That’s right. Well, If I sinned then I’ma go to heaven. Because all of your sins past, present, and future have already been paid for, John, at the cross. I know you’re a baby. When you trust Christ, he sees you positionally as being righteous from the moment you believe. Now if you sin as a believer, God will spank you. God is now your father for the first time, if you are saved. And you become his child. And if you’re delinquent, he’ll spank you.
And he might say, come on up home here to heaven because I’m not going to let you be down on the earth anymore if you’re going to be delinquent. He’s going to take you out of here sooner than you plan on going. Read 1 Corinthians 5, there’s a man who’s a Christian, he’s living in fornication with his mother and he’s proud, he’s not ashamed of it. And it says in verse 5, to deliver such a one unto Satan to kill his body so that his spirit would be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
So this man will be saved, but the Lord allowed Satan to take his life and to kill him and take him home to heaven early. There are many, many examples in the New Testament. First Corinthians 1130 says about the Corinthian believers. For this cause, many of you are weak, many of you are sickly, and many of you are dead. That was because of sin, the un, that they were living and rebellion against the Lord and sin and the Lord took him out.
Yeah, but he told me it was met on motion. He says many of you sleep, that means they were dead. They died. I know that the died, but it did wrong. Right, and then the Lord took him right to heaven. That’s what the Bible says. You’ll be saved. You’ll suffer loss of reward when you get to heaven, but you’re still saved and you’re saved forever. forever. John, you need to trust Christ alone as long as you’re hanging on to how you live your life to get yourself to heaven.
You’re trusting in your works and John, you’re not saved and you’re not going to heaven unless you trust Jesus Christ as your only hope of reaching heaven. So you really need to really look at everything and realize that salvation has nothing to do with your behavior, with your obedience, with your works. It’s all of Christ. But then after you become saved, we’re confronted with being disciples, which comes by living for Christ afterwards saved. John, I pray for you that you would understand this because if you are trusting Christ plus works, you’ll have no mercy when you stand before God and you’ll not be saved.
Romans 11, 6 says, if by works, then it’s no more of grace. And then he won’t be able to enter heaven. You’ve got to go to break. We’ll be right back in just a minute. Thank you John for that call. We’ll be back for the second half of Bibleline. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund. This is Bibleline. It’s great to be with you today.
Thanks again for tuning in to the broadcast. and we hope you’ll tune us in every day Monday through Friday. And over the weekend, you can catch us on the internet because we are on 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be heard from anywhere in the world. Also, by the way, we stream our television programs and our radio programs and they can be heard from anywhere in the world. By the way, on Sunday mornings, webcast our morning service so you can actually join us live as we worship on Sunday morning in the message I deliver.
If you click on the camera on the home page of our website Bibleline Ministries if you’re there watching about 11 o’clock Sunday morning you’ll see clouds going by you’ll hear the old rugged cross and when I start the message the video and audio will come up and you’ll be able to watch the worship service, the message that I bring every Sunday from Calvary Community. Hope you’ll do that. By the way, we certainly hope that you might consider giving a gift to Bible and as we close out this year, it’s not too late.
You can do it by credit card over the phone and give a gift to Bible and a tax deductible gift to the Lord’s work and it’ll help Bible and as we exit this year and begin a brand new year on January 1st. So consider if you would, being a partner with us and giving the Bibleline, we’re really trying to get this message of the gospel out and it’s expensive, it costs money. And I don’t get paid, our staff doesn’t get paid, but we do have all the stations to pay and the other costs associated with the ministry.
So would you please consider maybe giving a gift and you can call and get that gift by using your credit card if you would like. By the way also, we still have those specials running if you’d like to get the 52 CDs, Sunny Messages for the whole year for a gift of $250 to the Bible and that would be great. Always so you can get the $100 Christmas Special still available and just call it and our prayers can explain that to you.
And we’ll be glad to ship that right out. And we’re going to go back now to stations that have been on break and do the second half of Bibleline. And I hope you’ll be listening to the second half. If your station doesn’t carry the second half, then you can go on the internet and catch the full program. And call your station and ask them if they could free up the full hour so we could be on for the full hour in your area.
I’m Dr. Englunds from we’re about ready to do the second half of Bibleline. So keep your radio tuned where it is or go on the internet right now bybellinministries.org. Here we go. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break. This is Bibleline. This is part of the phone lines are all stacked up and we got off air questions and we want to try to get to as many of you as we possibly can.
And so we’re… So we’re going to go right now to Ken and Clearwater who’s been patiently waiting forever. Ken, welcome to Bibleline. Hey, good morning. Thanks for being so patient with that last caller there. I think a lot of us in a way he did, I think, you’ve been really… Absolutely. Thought that my works made the difference in whether I’d go to Heaven or not, and it was totally wrong. And it’s… I hope John will trust the Lord. I believe he’s trusting in Jesus’ plus works, which won’t save you.
Right I would recommend if he could did he get set and you had a little brochures and stuff if you were going to go to heaven or not we have that and maybe we can Get John the callback and give us his address or we’ll mail him one for free. Oh Wonderful, and I think I said a prayer for our mind But a bunch he continues to listen to this program like like a lot of us would be very helpful One thing sort along the same line said he was talking about I was just reading John was studying it here the last few days in chapter 6.
Sometimes you read the Bible and all of a sudden something will stick out at you that you’ve probably read before but for some reason it just sort of leaves. It’s John 628. I was just wondering if you could explain it to me. It has the word works in there but it looks like it could be a play on words on works. Absolutely. I’ll drop off and maybe you could explain it and I’ll listen on the radio. These people here had been there to see the feeding of the 5,000 and they were thinking in terms of works for salvation.
And they said in verse 28, then they said unto Christ, what shall we do that we might work the works of God? And then Jesus says unto them, this is the work of God that you believe on Him whom He has sent. I believe what he’s referring to there is that the work that God did at the cross in Christ is the work that you must believe on. And when you believe on that work, then God saves you. There are numerous other verses that seem to imply that very same truth in the book of Acts in chapter 13.
It tells us again that we’re saved just by faith. He says in verse 41 of Acts 13, Behold you despisors and wonder and perish, for I work a work in your days, a work which you shall in no wise believe, though a man declared unto you. So there is a work that we are to believe in, but it is the work that God did for us at the cross when Jesus made the full payment for your sin and mine.
And when we believe in that work, then we are saved. But as long as we try to do works of ourselves, then we will not be saved. And hopefully that helps explain that in John 6, 28, and 29. We have Pat down in Venice, Florida. Pat, welcome to Bibleline Your Honor. Oh, good morning, Dr. Lenstrow. Good morning. I have a question for you regarding the body, the soul, and the spirit. Go for it. Okay, it’s my understanding that at death The body is separated from the soul and spirit.
That’s right now. I have a Bible study teacher That’s telling me the soul dies with the body and I my question to him was well then We go to heaven mindless will listen to no emotion He says, oh no, you take on the Spirit’s mind, will and emotion. And I’m trying to find in the Bible verses that says the soul lives. Okay. I’ll give you a good one real quick here, Matthew 1028. I was just going to admit to Matt I’ve got it right in front of me.
He says fear not then can kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. Kill the soul, right. And so the soul and spirit leave the body at death and when the rapture happens and Christ returns then you’ll get your new resurrection body and you’ll be complete again body soul and spirit in heaven. Correct. Okay. Very good. That verifies with what I’m thinking and I had Matthew 1028 right in front of me. Well, look at that. You’re right on and he’s wrong.
He’s absolutely wrong. Good. Thank you so much. You’re welcome. Bye-bye. Pat Nannem, Venice, Florida and hopefully she can go back and straighten him out. All right. We’re going to Dave in Plant City and Dave, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Good morning Dr. Hank, I want to wish you a happy new year and a safe new year and thank you again for your ministry. Thank you and you live in the strawberry capital of the world out of the out there picking strawberries yet?
I don’t know if they’re picking but they certainly got them planted and they’re growing and blooming and they’re right on the edge of getting ready to get them. Oh boy. Oh boy. Don’t bring, I just wanted to add to your comments to the first caller, John. I just want to point out to him and a lot of other people that think like him just to remember the thief on the cross. That’s a very powerful illustration. He had no time to do any kind of work or anything other than the trust and Christ to get into heaven.
And Jesus told them that he would be in paradise if they would just read that and pray to the the Holy Spirit to open their eyes and mind to the Bible when they read it and read in Romans and Acts. And it clearly tells me that works is not important to get salvation. I just wanted to pat that on. That’s excellent, David. Thank you so much. And you know, our works are filthy rags. Anything that we do, it says in Isaiah 64, 6 that our righteous needs are filthy rags in the sight of God, there’s nothing we could ever do to be able to gain salvation.
We have Lou in Tampa, Florida and Lou, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Well Dr. Hank, how are you? How was your Christmas? Great, new? Great. Listen, I hear some preachers, they throw in, to be saved, you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord. I hear them say Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, but then I hear some preachers that say, except Him has your Lord and Savior, they put the word in there. Is that anything to worry about?
Is that a technicality? Well, I think it’s a tip off that they don’t understand the difference. You know, they’re trying to say, you know, except Christ is your Lord, which you submit yourself to the Lord and ship of Christ. Right. Is Lord a title to Jesus Christ? Or is Lord, when you say Lord, you are, you get saved first and then when you say he is my Lord then then you become the disciple that’s that’s basically it you receive Christ as Savior and you’re saved when you receive Christ as your Lord and you allow him to rule over your life that’s what you become a disciple but the word and in there you should be a little skeptical absolutely because they’re mixing the two together and I never do that you accept Christ as Savior to be saved then later as a second decision you
accept him as your Lord and allow him to control your life and that’s when you become a disciple. Okay, one more. But again, the great commission it says and I didn’t read it exact but I had heard that go out and make disciples of all nations. Is that a current? Well, that is correct but that’s the great commission is in two steps. Mark 1615 says go into the world and preach the gospel every creature. In order to take those that we’ve won and disciple them so that they can in turn you out and tell the lost about how to be saved.
So it’s ongoing. Matthew is just basically doing the disciple one. He’s not doing the salvation one. Well, I think it’s assumed that you first win him to Christ. But then you make it. Because a lot of preachers will say, now wait a minute now. See, if you were to separate the two between salvation and discipleship, then Jesus wouldn’t said go out into all the nations and make disciples and I was kind of at a loss because I knew somewhere that it just did say go out and preach the gospel without the word disciple being used.
Exactly. It’s really I think part two and in the foyer of my church I have given the full great commission which is in two parts. The first part I summarize is going out and winning the loss to Christ. The second part is then taking the loss that we’ve won and training them to to intern you out and reach the lost and that’s the full great commission is that we not only are to win the lost but we’re to train the lost that we’ve won to intern you out and reach the lost and then it just continues from generation to generation to generation.
Alright so would you say it would be safe for me when I go out to try to preach the gospel to try not to say you’re going to take the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior period Leave the word Lord out. I would leave it out in that expression because then it’s his full title Lord Jesus Christ. But if you say accept him as your Lord and accept him as your Savior at the same time that’s a mixture of discipleship for salvation with just simply trusting Christ.
Well, Brother Hank, thank you very much. God bless you. Have yourself a blessed New Year. year. All right, thank you. And there are those that do that and then they’re not saved. Like in Matthew 722, that group will stand before Christ at the Great White Throne Judgment and they say, Lord, Lord, so they acknowledge the Lordship of Christ, then they brag and boast about three areas where they’ve submitted to the Lordship of Christ. They say, haven’t we preached in your name and healed in your name and done many wonderful works in your name?
The result will be Christ says in verse 23, I never knew you. He didn’t say, I once knew you and I lost you. He said, I never knew because you see they were counting on their service to Christ being their Lord to be saved when they didn’t trust Christ and his shed blood and his death as the only means of their salvation. So there’s quite a difference there. We’re going to go to Doug in Pensacola, Florida and Doug, welcome to Bible Ed.
Hey, thanks, preacher. How are you doing this morning? Good. Next week you had a caller talking about election and it took me quite a while preacher to kind of get it together because you see so many times the word elect in the Bible. Well when I was going through my Bible study one day I noticed some first special, one four, the verse I kind of cleared it up for. It says, knowing brother and beloved, your election of God. So the election is from the person us doing, we’re electing God.
saying, God, we thank you. Now, I’ll show you what happens in the NIV. This is a system of works in contrast. Then what they do, they pervert it, they say, for we know brothers love my dad that he has chosen you. You see, the difference, they had completely also that fella that called, Jack. Yeah. I tell people this, I have a granddaughter. Oh man, she is so precious. She’s a teenager now. but she is the apple of my wife’s eye.
She would have the phone talking, and my little granddaughter in her white dress was outside plain. My wife wouldn’t be raving all the beautiful child. She’s so pure, she’s so clean. But looking out the window, you might see my granddaughter fall down in the mud. My wife doesn’t see this. My wife sees her pure clean and in that white dress. And that’s the way God sees this. If we fall in the mud, we don’t lay there to roll in it.
Now one final thing if you’ll allow me, The lady said that the soul and the spirit was indifferent. She also flipped in that it was the intellect. In Revelation 6, 9, it says, and when he opened the fifth seal, I saw unto the altar, the souls, or them that were slain for the word of God. So it’s more than the intellect, brother. It’s sort of like he had a football and it had the outer football and the inner tube.
I believe the soul would be like the inner tube. You think the pheum the numa, you have to get the air? Sounds pretty good to me. I’ve never heard that before, but no doubt that’s a good verse in Revelation. The souls are there after death, so they don’t die. It’s not a mind, it’s not a mind or an intellect or thought. There’s obviously that part of it, but when the soul of the person goes to hell, they take all they know and feel with them.
They don’t take their body with them, that soul-burned field, remember, you see? Absolutely. Yep. Okay, thank you so much. I agree and certainly this thing about election is a lot of people confused. I like what D.L. Moody said he said the Whose River wills are the elect and the Whose River won’t for the non-elect. It’s that simple. Can’t get it any more simpler than that. God has chosen before the foundation of the world to save all that would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and they are the elect.
We have Dr. Anonymous who is up in Dade City Florida, beautiful place just north of Temfy, wouldn’t think you’re in Florida when you’re up in that area and Mr. Dr. Anonymous you’re on the on the air. How you doing Dr. Hank? Good. I was listening and I’m trying to call you back earlier but I couldn’t get any other calls to call in. Okay apparently you’re still getting calls on the ones about It’s something about you explain that’s wrong to go through it again.
I just want to elaborate a little bit about Never say this except this crisis you’re on and say to just if these crisis your savior That’s first and then and then Christ should become your lord But you don’t accept Christ as Lord to be saved you accept Christ as your savior to be saved But what I’m saying is What you’re doing is about 90% of the ministers are pastors who have opened up the plan of I’m sure I’ve raised it to me.
to leave someone to Christ, they usually do that. And what you’re doing, you’re making a seem like those people are an actor Christ and false prophets and misinforming people. And I think that you are, you should just leave it alone because we will originally, all Erenisha Bow and the Septuius Christ is waiting to without it. You look like we can’t do the Septuius Lord and save you while we on this earth and see it boldly. Have a talk. The only thing is a lot of those people will do it in hell.
You know, if you’re trusting in your works to be saved, then you’ll confess with your mouth and you’ll bow your knee and acknowledge that Christ is God. That’s what Lord there means, that He is the God of the Bible, the God of creation, and for some it will be forever too late. But I think they are mixing people up and I think it is an important point to talk about that. As I said in Matthew 722, those people accepted Christ as Lord, but apparently never accepted Him as Savior.
And if you do that, then obviously you’re going to go to hell because you’re trusting in your works. And Christ said to that group, I never knew you in Matthew 723. And they had acknowledged, they said, Lord, Lord. And then they said, look at what we’ve done. We acknowledge your Lordship. they preached and they healed and they did wonderful works in the name of Jesus and Christ said I’m sorry but I never do you. Have they trusted Christ in his death and shed blood?
He would have said come right on in but they didn’t do that and so it is an important point. Thank you so much for sharing with us and we now have Rick in Tampa, Florida. Rick, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Good morning, Pastor Hank. I’m a member of your church there and I’ve been having a hard time getting through to my mother and my sister and I just wanted to know when the one-year today’s show would be on archive so I could give that to them.
Well it usually takes several hours I guess later this afternoon it should be. You may be able to get them to go ahead and click about a couple hours into it and it should be there. Very good. Okay. All right. All right. Thank you. And yes, these shows can be downloaded in MP3 format for free for your iPod. You can call us and order a CD copy that we can mail out to you if you’d like a particular program and so on.
And we’re thinking about offering a whole series, maybe, of progress for the whole month on a CD in the mp3 format for those that would like to have it that way but if you go to the internet they’re all sitting there and you should be able to listen to them and usually it takes several hours after the show before the day’s program of that day drops into the archive. If you want to dial us up by the way the phone number is 1-800-576-3771 that’s 1-800-576-3771.
You’re sure welcome to come by and worship with us. Are you going to go to church this Sunday? I hope you have a good Bible believing teaching church where you can find yourself at home, hearing the Word of God taught, people getting saved and challenged to live for Christ and so on. And if you live in the Tampa Bay area and you don’t have a good solid church to attend, certainly invite you to come and visit us and pray for Bibleline as we end this year and then move forward into the new year.
That’s gonna be exciting. We are going to have some more classes I’m gonna be offering and those for those in the area can come and sit in but we’re also gonna make it available so if you have internet you can actually sit in those classes live. You can sign up and Get the passcode to take the class with me live on the internet, which is exciting. And we have a caller right now, Offair, Ray in Springfield, Missouri, I guess.
I’m not too sure. He says, do you offer Bible studies on DVD? And the answer is yes. We have just taught. The first one is called Meeting the Challenge about the Christian Life. It’s exciting. That’s available on DVD, 10 Hours of Teaching. We also have it on CD. Then we just finished one, 10 Vital doctrines, which is an exciting course. That is also available on DVD. For a gift of $75, you can have either one of those, both for $150.
and if you get them on CD it’s $50 for the 10 hours of teaching but the DVD that’s video and you can play it for an audience or play it for your own benefit and so if you want to use them to facilitate a Bible study some people do that you could put the video up on a big screen and have people go through a portion of that and then discuss it and then to go through the 10 hours of teaching on meeting the challenge and also 10 vital doctrines of the Bible.
Thank you Ray for calling in from Springfield, Missouri and asking about Bible studies. We have a number of my studies. We’ve just now started to view it as a DVD, but about 40 of them are available on CD, the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel. I I can’t tell you how many people have told me they’ve had a Bible study where they have used my CDs to facilitate that study. And the book of Revelation has been one I know that has been used for many, many Bible studies and many parts of the country.
We hear people doing that in many different states that are buying these resources we have and using them to get the Word of God out and teach it. We have a lot of all-fare questions here. We’re coming up on the end of the program here. One of those is, what is the best way to study the Bible? John in Tampa calls in with this question and leaves it. And you know, I think it needs to be systematic. You need to maybe start in maybe the Gospel of John.
I would read it numerous times before I would go anywhere else. It’s such a fundamental book that if you can get the basics in the Gospel of John, it will help you then as you go to other parts. then maybe go to some of the epistles, which are the letters that the disciples wrote, the letters of Paul and so on, and these will help you. But if you get a Schofield Bible, which is what I use, the old Schofield, you’ll find it’s so helpful because the notes are geared to your understanding the doctrines of the Bible.
And that would be really a great benefit to you. Let me encourage you to do that. And of course, our CDs are very helpful. A lot of people tell me that they have listened to them numerous times. And each time they learn more and new things as they listen. We give you so much meat when you go through our studies with us on CD or now the DVD. You’ll find that you can go back again and again and glean a lot of brand new truth.
So in any case, we pray that you will maybe take advantage of color bookstore. We can send you a resource list out. You could also go on the internet to our online bookstore. And there you will find that we have descriptions and pictures of everything that we have. And you can take a look at those. and you can order right on the internet or you can call in and order with a live operator here in my life headquarters we have to run but would you consider giving a new year gift uh…
to my line helping us out and uh… uh… with everything uh… paid off as we entered the brand new year and uh… we want to thank you in advance for your prayers and for your gifts and god bless all of you that have given Bibleline and have prayed for Bibleline during this past year. We appreciate each of you so very, very much. We are certainly praying that if you’re listening today and are not saved, and John, I hope you’ll call back and we’ll send you the CD that the other person suggested that if you could listen to that, it would be great.
But again, a lot of folks are trusting in Christ. Plus works, and we will be glad to make that different. So, apparently we just got word that John did call, so that’s wonderful. We’ve got a run here, but we’ll be back on Monday. I hope you have a wonderful new year. Happy new year to all of our listeners. And have a great weekend.
