Exciting times in which we’re living here at Cezin, Hosea, chapter 3 verse 4. What a prophecy this is. The children of Israel. We all abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and, without an image, and without an Ephod, and without Tariffam. Did you know that when Christ came… He was king of Israel but rejected. And because of that, the Bible here predicted that they would be many days without a king. Israel has not had a king for two thousand years.

Since Jesus was rejected, they’ve had no king. They have a prime minister, they have a president, but they don’t have a king. And they will have no king until Jesus comes back again. It also says here in my Bible, in Hosea chapter 3 and verse 4, that they would be without a prince. That means an heir to the throne. For somebody to sit upon the Jewish throne, they would have to be of the ancestry of King David. And obviously, nobody today could prove that.

The genealogical records were destroyed in Jerusalem in 8070 when the Romans conquered Israel. And so nobody can prove their lineage back to King David, except for one that’s Jesus Christ. You know his lineage is recorded for us in Matthew chapter one and in Luke chapter three, and you’ll notice that Jesus Christ can trace his ancestry right back to King David. So there is no prince except for Christ who’s called in Isaiah 9, 6, the prince of peace. And he’s coming and will rule as king over Israel.

The next one is so amazing to me. We’re in Hosea chapter 3, if you’re just tuning in. Hosea chapter 3 verse 4. It says that the children of Israel would abide many days without a sacrifice. They had sacrifices right up until AD 70 when the temple was destroyed by the Romans. But for 2000 years the Jewish people have not had a sacrifice. That is really quite a remarkable prophecy because the Jews have always offered sacrifices. And even before the nation of Israel was founded, you see Abel bringing a lamb way back there in the earliest pages of Genesis.

And it seemed like everywhere you look in the Old Testament, they offered sacrifices, and yet there have been none since the destruction of the temple in 8070. The Bible predicted that, here it is in Hosea, chapter 3, the children of Israel for 2,000 years have not had a king, for 2,000 years have not had an heir to the throne of Israel. For 2,000 years they have not had their blood sacrifices. Amazing, isn’t it? Then it says here, and without an image, that also is quite a remarkable prophecy because Israel was always guilty of imagery and making false gods.

Remember when they came out of Egypt? He remember when Moses went up into Mount Sinai? The people got impatient and they told Aaron, hey, we don’t know what happened to this Moses, but how about make us a god? And so they gave him their jewelry and everything else and he melted it down and made a golden calf and they worshiped that image. You know, Israel’s been guilty for ages of making idols and worshiping them and got very upset with it.

But you know for the past 2000 years we haven’t had any images and that’s an amazing fulfillment of prophecy. And you know you’ll find if you go to a synagogue they don’t have images. There are no images. Wow they’re very plain, very simple as far as no images at all. Then it says here in chapter 3 verse 4 of Hosea, they’d be without an Ephod. You know that’s the garment of the high priest and of the priesthood. And it’s really saying here they wouldn’t have a priesthood.

You know the Jewish people today have rabbis which means teachers but they don’t have any priests, rather any priests today because they’re gone. The priesthood has not existed for the past 2000 years. That’s an amazing fulfillment of prophecy. Yes, but no priest. And yet the Bible said this thousands of years ago. Lastly, it tells us without care of him. Those are household gods. They don’t have that either. But look at verse 5 of Hosea chapter 3. Afterward, afterward, afterward it says, afterwards shall the children of Israel return.

And we believe they returned as of 1948 and became a nation again for the first time in 2000 years. It says they would seek the Lord to their God and David their king and should fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days. My friend the Bible defines the latter days as when the Jewish people would return after this many day period without a king, without a prince, without a sacrifice, without a priesthood, without images, without household gods.

It is amazing. looks into the future and calls it as it is. For the past two thousand years, we have seen exactly this amazing prophecy fulfilled and involves a whole nation, the Jewish people. They would be without a king, without a prince, without a sacrifice, without images, without their priesthood, without household gods, and yet afterward they would return back to their land. And that would be the latter days. My friend, we’re living in the latter days. Did you know that?

we are living in the latter days. These are the days that the prophets have spoken about. These are the days when Christ is coming again. And you know, Israel missed the first coming. It says here in the Scripture that they missed this special time when the Messiah was to come. I want to read an interesting passage here in Luke’s Gospel, it talks about how that Jesus said that they weren’t paying attention. It says here that when he was rejected, as he came down the slopes of the Mount of Olives on Palm Sunday, verse 41 of Luke 19 says when he was come near, he beheld the city and he wept.

Here he had come the king, the Messiah, and they rejected him. He says in verse 42 saying as he wept, if thou hast known, even thou, at least in this thy day, you know, this was their day, the day of opportunity to receive their king and they turned him down and rejected him. It says here if thou hast known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace, but now are they hid from their eyes.”

You know, they had opportunity to have peace, to have their king rule over and bring peace on earth good, wool toward men, but they missed it. They missed it. And you know, I think a lot of Christians today aren’t aware that we’re living in a similar time when Jesus is about ready to come back at the second time, and a lot of Christians aren’t aware of it. We need to be looking up, we need to be lifting up our heads, our redemption draws nigh.

And a lot of people are missing out on the excitement of living in the expectancy of the soon return of Jesus Christ. He’s coming, and He’s coming soon. And I hope every believer would really take advantage of this new year and be watching for the Lord to come back and be using their days wisely as time is running out. Time is running out. Christ is coming back. And once the Rapture happens, then your opportunity to do something significant for God is over and you’ll suffer the loss of reward which you could have had rewards for living your life for Christ.

you don’t. This is a great day as we begin the new year to make plans to use your life effectively for this coming year and get in the blessings and enjoy and the rewards that come by living for Christ. I’m Dr. Angklinstrum, this is Bible. I hope everybody listening is trusted Jesus as Savior. If you haven’t you need to do that and we look forward to a great year and hopefully We’ll see great things happen right up until today.

Jesus comes and snatches us out. Again, I’m Dr. Angelina Lindstrom. This is Mr. McPhen with one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one. Well… Well we’re going to go to the phone colors and also we’re going to take some off air questions. We have a number of those. We have a question here in David in St. Petersburg just called in. We find here it says, can we reach the kingdom of heaven by doing away with money?

And of course the answer is no. Let me see the verse here that you are referencing to see why you would think that. It says, no man can serve two masters. He will either hate the one and love the other or else he will hold the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon or money. We are saved by our deeds. We are not saved by our works. And yet it’s interesting that… Sometimes people think that we’re saved by what we do.

When we serve the Lord, obviously money gets in the way sometimes because we need to have our focus on heaven. Christ tells us here in this wonderful passage to be looking up and to lay treasures in heaven and we hope that you are doing that because Christ said where your treasures are, that your heart will be also. And that’s exciting. In any case, we’re not saved by our works. And notice the key words in verse 24 here that you cited, you cannot serve God.

If your focus is on this world and on worldly treasures and worldly riches and worldly fame, then obviously you’re not going to be a good servant of Christ. We need to focus on heavenly things and focus on pleasing the Lord. And so David, I hope that helps. And thank you for calling in with your question today. We have Derek in Florida, somewhere in Florida, I don’t know where, but Derek calls in and says, when I heard you explain why Jesus is crucified on Wednesday, and then rose again from the grave on Saturday, it made sense.

That is until I came across Mark 16. Well, I’m not too sure what you’re going to tell me from Mark 16 that would change that. But I’m looking over there and it says here in my Bible that very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came under the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, who shall roll away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And when they looked, they saw the stone was rolled away, and it says it was very great.

And entering the sepulcher, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed with a long white garment. That’s an angel, by the way. And they were afraid of it. And he said unto them, be not afraid of it. Do you seek Jesus of Nazareth, which is crucified? He has risen. He’s not here. I don’t get the point. Sunday night is precedes Sunday, and Sunday began Saturday at sundown. Christ rose at sundown Saturday, 6 p.m. That was the beginning of the first day of the week.

That was Sunday night. In the morning, very early as the sun rose, they came and found the tomb empty. Nobody saw Christ rise on Sunday morning. Christ rose at the beginning of the day. That was Saturday at 6 p.m. when Sunday night begins. Do you ever notice driving by a synagogue on Friday night at 6 p.m.? The Sabbath has begun and the Jewish people meet on the Sabbath as it begins. That’s Saturday night on Friday night. Get you a little mixed up sometimes if you’re not used to that.

We count our days from midnight to midnight. The Jews count theirs from Sunday on to Sunday on the Sunday night. They count their night first just like it does in Genesis. the evening and the morning were the first day and the evening and the morning were the second day and so on and so on. So the evening was first. Well Derek called back or write or give us another off air question but it made sense until he came across Mark 16.

Mark 16 doesn’t change anything. They came in the morning and there was the discovery of the to whom they didn’t see the resurrection. We have another one calling in from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Claude, says, after the flood, no one’s three sons populated the world. Now Africa and the rest of the black world is always ignored. We’re not all the prophets black and all the Israelites. Well, we don’t know that. It does tell us that Moses married a woman. Apparently, it was black, but we don’t have anything that would tell us the skin color.

Most of the people in the Middle East have a pretty good suntan, but I don’t think they were black. So I don’t know. Give us another question here. Maybe I can get some more clarification about what you’re looking for. We have Sam in Lakeland, Florida on the line, and we’re going to go to Sam. Sam, welcome to Bibleline Happy New Year. or have to be a new you know enjoy your or i would give a comment i enjoy your program very much and i would like to do quite a bit you know i have a lot of people talking about uh…

not celebrating christmas on account they’ve not uh… don’t know if you were to have not all kind of the senate law like that but uh… at the same time a whole demand to understand the whole christian faith believe it on just believe this believe it’s no proof on anything no more the word and that’s the proof of how. Jesus was born in the flesh, and man celebrate preachers and different ones when they do good things, and they recognize it and they celebrate.

So like the men, nowadays, like we should really celebrate Christmas with nothing about a standing call because man got in there and put them for a standing call to use the name to make money. But at the same time Jesus came and everybody had vacation. I mean, they had days off and get paid. Christmas, I know they paid for those days off. So that’s the blessing. So the thing is, like everybody should be really celebrating Christmas in the name of Jesus Christ.

And they’re in order to tell people about why they’re celebrating. They’re celebrating on the kind of Jesus. Now on the kind of the Sunday cloth, they’re going to kind of Jesus. They’re going to be celebrating and everybody should request on a date that people think about everybody or other than they do they fail and when people started and they not want to celebrate kusman they don’t have the opportunity to tell as much that you have to buy jesus cry but if everybody celebrating jesus cry christman then because everybody had to hope people can go home and different fan so everybody gets to celebrate more and they have to have to have to have more opportunity to be in any of the time of the year the teller and witness to jesus cry and that’s the coming i like to get amen like you sound like a preacher there’s

I say them, but absolutely I think celebrating Christmas is a wonderful opportunity not only to focus on Jesus and who he is, but what he did for us at the cross and how we can be saved when we trust him as our Savior. The early Christians apparently didn’t celebrate the birthday of Christ, but they did come together the first day of the week every week and celebrate his death. They would have the Lord’s Supper and they would be reminded of his broken body and his shed blood by taking of the elements in that very simple supper that the Lord has given to us as believers.

And interesting that we today put more emphasis, it seems like, on the birth of Christ than as is death. But the important thing is to recognize that you can believe in the birth and celebrate the birth and still go to hell. You must trust that Christ died and shed his blood was buried and rose again from the dead to be saved. You must trust Christ as your Savior. We have Mark, Internet question from Tampa. Please explain Psalm 371. Who are the evil doers?

Are they people or demons? Well, they’re people. It tells us who they are later on in that wonderful Psalms 37. It tells us here that they are our people and they will be cut off. That means really they’ll be cut off from God’s presence, they’ll be cast into the everlasting lake of fire. And in here you have the terms righteous as versus the evil or wicked ones. And by the way, anybody, and I had to learn this as a new believer reading my Bible, that the Bible tells us that anybody who is an unbeliever is considered in the Bible wicked because why their righteousness is far short of the righteousness of God and its wickedness.

So in other words, the righteous are the believers because they have a righteousness which is imparted to them or imputed to them that God sees them as righteous based upon the substitution of death of Christ. The Bible says in Romans 3 and 10, there is then righteous, no not one. So nobody on the earth is righteous of ourselves, but believers are called righteous from the the get-go. All the way back there in Genesis we find that Abel obtained witness, the Bible says in Hebrews 11-4, when he offered up his lamb the sacrifice that he offered, he obtained witnesses cannot receive that sacrifice, that he was already righteous, he was already a saved man.

And we find that Cain, though, being unsaved was of that wicked one and was considered evil or wicked. So anybody without Christ is an evil doer. Even though they might be very moral, they might do very wonderful things. And it’s something that fools a lot of people because they look at the outward appearance. And yet the outward appearance doesn’t always tell us the true story. Christ speaks about the religious leaders in His time and He tells us how that outwardly they looked great.

They really did have a lot of people fooled because people were looking at the outside. But Jesus said about these people, He says, Warren do you scribes and Pharisees, this is Matthew 23, 27, hypocrites for you are like unto whiteed sepicles. That was the gravestones that they would keep painted nice and white which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones and of all uncleanness. So it tells us here that you also appear outwardly righteous unto men, but inside they were wicked.

So here are religious leaders who appear righteous and yet they are considered by the Lord wicked because It’s the fact that they don’t have God’s righteousness and man’s righteousness is wickedness. This is Bible and we’re coming up on the break time here and we’re glad that you’re listening and I hope you’re enjoying the program wherever you might be. And again, thank you for tuning into Bible and today. And we’re going to do a second half in just a moment.

And of course, we hope that you’ll catch the second half and listen to the full program. Again, thank you all of you who have been a part of the Bible and audience this past year, and I hope you’ll help us recruit new listeners for this coming year. And we hope you’ll have a wonderful, wonderful year. I’m Dr. Englundstrom. We’re going to go to break. In the meantime, don’t change that radio now because we’ll come right back. And we thank you again for tuning in today.

Happy New Year. We’re excited about the brand new year and what God is going to do. And we hope that you’re excited as well and will be a partner with us and your prayers and your gifts to Bible and it will help us continue this mission. We’ll be right back after this short break. Don’t go away. The Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr.

Hank Lindstrom. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in and being a part of our program. And we hope that you’re telling your friends about the program and helping us expand it. Again, thank you for being a listener. But we hope that you’ll put us on your prayer list and pray for us. We certainly need God’s help. And we need your prayers on our behalf to pray for us each and every day. Put us on a list someplace where Bibleline is prayed for.

Pray for me. Pray for our staff. and pray that we’ll have a great year this coming year, and I hope you’ll be a very real part of by-blindness coming year. And by the way, we are listeners supported. Not only do we need your prayers, but if you could help us financially, that would be great. Again, we don’t pay any salaries out, but we do have a lot of expenses because it costs a lot of money to be on the radio.

And there’s a lot of other expenses that are related to it, including getting up on the satellite and the satellite charges and the phone bills and every person that calls in on our 800 number, we pay the long distance bill on that. So when you’re waiting even online on the phone to get up on the air, that’s a long distance bill that the By Blind pays. So your gift to By Blind would be very helpful and maybe you might consider to give to Bible and in this coming year.

And certainly your gifts will be greatly appreciated. Again, I’m Dr. Englund, Mr. Bibles and we have our program on the Internet as well as on regular broadcast and we hope that you will take advantage of the Internet site Bible Line Ministries as a way to get the programs, TV and radio. the many other things that we have available there as well. Take a look at our online bookstore. We have a lot of resources, a lot of things that will help you that you can take a look at, pictures of it, and you can look at the descriptions of the products, and you can order right there on the internet.

I hope you will do that. And of course, just pray for us in this coming year that we You might see great things happen as we’ve had so many blessings over this past year that we trust that God will continue to allow those blessings to occur in this coming year. I’m Dr. Englundstrom and we’re about ready to go back and join the stations of the station break and do the second half of Bibleline. And we hope that you’ll be listening to the second half and again call somebody up and ask them to join you as we do the second half.

To keep you ready to do dial tune right where it is, we’re going to take a short intermission here as we come back to do the second half. Stay tuned right where you are. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from our break. And it’s great to be with you today on Bibleline. As we come to you live from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida, at the Calvary Community Church where I am the pastor.

Look forward to having you come by sometime and visit our Resource Center during the week, open every day till about 4.30, also come by during a worship service and visit with us. We had so many people come by from all over the country that visited us during the holidays and that was wonderful to meet those that listened to Bibleline or watch our programs in different parts of the country that were in town to for the holidays and came by and saw us and that was great and attended our services we really did enjoy getting to meet those of you that came by and you’re always welcome anytime of year not just during the holidays but whenever you’re in the area please just come on by and say hi and visit us here for worship service or also on our weekdays when we have our resource

center open combined say hi and take a look at what we’ve got. Again I want to thank all of you who pray for us. We certainly want everybody to put us on your prayer list. Would you do that? Write that down. Pray for my whole life every day. The devil sure has given us a hard time but I believe that’s because we’re accomplishing something and the devil doesn’t like I think the word to get out. And so we expect that that is par for the course.

You know, it tells us in Timothy that those that will have gotten in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution and that happens. And it seems like the devil gave us a fit with phone lines and equipment and lightning strikes and everything else that happened this past year that would try to interrupt the program. And sometimes those are things that we just have learned expect and we said, devil, that’s not going to stop us. We’re going to continue to proclaim your word as long as we have breath in our bodies here at Bibleline.

So continue to pray for us and if you could, you could help us also to stay on the air by your gifts if you would consider being a giver to Bibleline. Again, nobody gets any salary from Bibleline, So all the monies go to keep us on the air and to pay those expenses. And so maybe you’d like to help us. If you just gave a dollar for every day you listened, wouldn’t that be great? If every listener did that, we’d have more than enough, I’m sure, to take care of all the needs that we have.

But consider that anyway. And maybe give a gift. Maybe if you gave 50 cents a day every for every month, that would be great. But get, maybe sit down and think about an amount maybe you might give on a regular basis that would really help Bible on. I hate to talk about money and we’re really not trying to get your money. It’s a necessary thing that we have to do because we don’t have a reserve account. We don’t have pledges or subscribers.

We don’t have anybody underwriting the program. We simply trust God and he supplies through people just like you who listen and who enjoy the program. Okay, we’re going to go back to the phone lines and we have all fairs and we’ve got some live ones We got Scott in Ziffer Hills, Florida in Scott. Welcome to Bibleline Yeah, I guess doctor. I’d like to ask you a question and I’m going to hang up and listen to your answer Okay, I’ve often heard you say that There’s no one at present in hell that Satan will be the first So my question is where are presently the sole spirits of the dead unsaved if they’re not in hell?

Alright, the answer is they’re in Hades and one of the problems that has occurred is that the word Hades sometimes is translated hell which it shouldn’t be. The Greek word for the real final hell, the eternal lake of fire is Kihana, whereas Hades is the word for a place in the heart of the earth. And if you read Luke 16, beginning at verse 19 on, it gives a description of what it’s like. There’s a rich man who dies and he all of a sudden finds himself in flame and torment in the heart of the earth in this place called Hades.

And he’s still there. And he’ll be there till after the thousand year reign of Christ. If you read Revelation 20, it tells us when the thousand years are expired. Satan is then loosed out of being in Hades himself for that thousand years and then he will be cast into the eternal lake of fire verse 10 of chapter 20 of Revelation. Then we see all the unsaved dead, small and great, brought up out of Hades given resurrection bodies, judged according to their works, assigned a degree of punishment and cast into the same lake of fire that Satan is going to be cast into.

So that’s kind of a brief summary, but there are numerous verses. If you have a skill field, the notes are so wonderful that describe these different doctrines, and then it’ll give you the passages to look up. But no doubt, once you die without Christ, you will wind up in hell. But Satan is first. It was created for the devil and his angels, Matthew 2541, and the lost die and immediately are present like that rich man in Luke’s Gospel and will remain there and wait until after Satan is cast in and then he’ll be cast into the eternal like a fire with the devil.

So would that mean that Dr. Lindstrom that they’re conscious but they’re not in the flames of hell then, right? They’re not in hell yet but they’re in flames. The Bible says that the rich man says that I am tormented in this flame. So he is definitely in a place of flame and torment. It is not a purgatory. He is not getting rid of his sin debt because the only way that can be done is by Christ death on behalf or a person would have to spend all eternity in hell if they paid for their sin debt.

So there is no way of working it off. If you die without Christ, you’re forever lost. And so that’s the case of everybody that dies. And the rich man was very concerned there. If you read the conversation, this is a real story about his five brothers that were still on the earth that were not yet dead, but were very much alive, but yet were not believers. And he wanted somebody to go witness to them because he says, lest they should also come to this place of torment.

So he was clearly in torment. And he was, he still is there to this hour. So is there any difference then, Dr. Lindstrom, in their condition? Is there any real difference between 80s and hell? Oh, absolutely. And apparently in hell, there will be degrees of punishment, which in Hades, apparently, there is not any degree. But in Revelation 20, the unsaved will be given an assignment as to what degree of punishment they’ll receive according to the light they rejected, and according to the works and deeds that they did.

and there are numerous verses that talk about degrees of punishment. So, Satan will be the worst punishment in hell. And then others, according to what they have done, I would imagine a guy like a Hitler and others that have been committed to heinous crimes would definitely be getting the worst type of punishment in hell could meet out. I see. Well, that clears that up. I was a little confused. Thank you so much for your help. Well, you’re so welcome and thank you for listing in and calling in today to Bibleline.

All right, we have a number of other all-fair questions here. We’ll try to take a few of them. We have Don in Bradenton, Florida. He’s asking a question here about Revelation 9-1. And contrasting that with John 6, let me just take a look at Revelation 9-1 first and see what it says. It says here in Revelation 9 and I’m almost there, verse 1, and the fifth angel sounded and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

Now, he says, explain John 65 with that verse in mind. So let’s see what John 665 says. And I’m not too sure if I see a connection here, but it says in verse 65, he said, therefore said, I unto you that no man can come unto me, except it were given him of my father. I don’t really see the connection here. Or you just ask me to explain two different verses. Don in Bradenton, please call back and explain what you’re asking.

I don’t see any correlation between the two verses at all. And maybe I misunderstood the question. So call back and we’ll go at this one again. Alright, we have Greg in Tampa, Florida calls in, off air says Dr. Hank, I know the Bible tells us to pray to God, the Father, in Jesus name, but since he’s my Savior, And since I try to daily walk with him, is it okay to pray to Christ directly as well? And I think it’s fine.

But actually, you know, we have to realize that Jesus is God, the Holy Spirit is God, and the Father is God. The three are one. But the Bible order is that we pray to the Father through Jesus and in the direction given to us in God’s Word, which is written by the Holy Spirit. And so, but I don’t think there’s a problem with addressing Jesus directly. We have Eddie in Lakeland, Florida. He leaves this off air question for us.

In Genesis chapter four, Eddie says, explain, okay? Well, I’m heading there right now, Eddie, and we’re going to Genesis chapter four, verse 24 says, If Cain shall be avenged seventy-fold, truly LeMec seventy and sevenfold. It’s just saying basically that God had given a warning here, a mark upon Cain, that nobody would touch him and if anybody did then they would be avenged by the Lord Himself. He is saying here that the same would be even more so if they did anything to LeMec.

So this was the, that’s all it’s saying is that he would be punished in a greater way. We have John and Tampa and John, welcome to Bibleline. Hi, it’s Pastor Hank. Yes, sir. Yeah, it’s nice to sort of privilege to talk to you again. As I think I talked to you a couple of days ago, I was on my way out to St. Pete’s. Okay. And I heard you and a couple of times since then you’ve discussed studying the Bible and how to study the Bible.

I just wanted to offer a couple of verses you allow me to string it, three verses or so together to make a point. I think it’s quite precious and I enjoyed your answer. There’s a wonderful verse in Isaiah 28 whom shall the Lord teach knowledge. Of course the context in that chapter ultimately is the rejection of Israel from Regarding that knowledge but nonetheless the truth the principle still exists that it’s the Lord who teaches by a spirit But there’s a wonderful verse that says in John 7 17 if a man’s willing or wills to do God’s will he shall know of the doctrine?

So, I may not know very much or very little, but if my heart’s attitude is, Lord, help me be obedient to what you show me. His promise in the scripture with the same force of let there be is that I’m going to learn what he knows I have need to learn in order to put one foot in front of another to please him. And the other, the other link verse I would link with it is in Exodus. I’ve always loved these verses.

It says, the one who gathers much has nothing over. The one who gathers little will have no lack. Precious promises from God as to how I can learn the Bible. I’m never gonna learn it as a seminary student. I’m only gonna learn it when I walk with the Lord. All right, John, that was good advice. God bless. All right, and that is really true. You know, and also if somebody just sits down and reads the Bible, you’re probably going to get very much.

Jesus, of course, tells us the key to learning is yoking yourself together with Him in service. And if you serve Him, then you will learn. And so a lot of people just think they can sit down and just read the Bible intellectually and they can glean information truly. He says in Matthew 11 29, I’m going to add this John to what you have said, take my yoke upon you. Now the yoke was of course that instrument that they would put over the oxen’s head.

Usually it was a double yoke, they put it over their heads, the ropes going back to the plow and the reins to guide the oxen came back off of that yoke. But it’s talking about laboring for Christ. take my yoke upon you and learn of me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest unto yourselves. So the way we really learn is by doing. Once we read the word of God and put it into practice, then we become matured and we learn as we do.

There are some people who sit in a pew that haven’t made any progress, even though they might be hearing the word, they’re not doers of the word. James 125 tells us it’s the one who does the word that is the one that’s blessed or rewarded for it. If you’re just a listener and you’re not a doer of the word, then you’re deceiving yourself, James says, and you’re not going to make much progress. Thanks for that advice, and I just added a little bit extra to that.

You need to get serving the Lord if you really want to see God open up the truth of His Word to you. We’re going to go to Michael in Seminole, Florida. Michael, welcome to Bibleline. Hi, Pastor. How are you today? Good. I’ve just got a quick question about the older, younger kind of divide. I know there seems to be some difference of opinion between whether the earth is old or young. And I would just like to ask your opinion, I think you believe in the old earth.

And if you could give some scripture references to support that. And also I’ve heard of something called the geological column, which apparently dates the earth and is there any reference to that in scripture? All right. Very good. I believe the earth is very old. It says in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. I had one fellow talk to one time and he said the earth was created 6,000 years ago and I said he rejected the Bible based on that.

And I said, well, could you show me that? He couldn’t, of course, but he thought the Bible actually said it, but he couldn’t find it, couldn’t see it, show it, but it says in the beginning, not 6,000 years ago. And I believe the earth was filled with life, right from the get-go. Isaiah 45, 18 says, he did not create it void or vain like we find it in Genesis 1, 2. The same Hebrew word there translated vain is the same Hebrew word translated void in Genesis 1, verse 2.

And so we believe the earth became void after a judgment upon the earth. And that’s what Genesis 1-2 is all about. And then apparently the original earth was created, according to Isaiah 45-18, to be inhabited and was perfect. God doesn’t create things imperfect or incomplete, but he doesn’t create animals that are, you know, half-developed, but they’re fully developed. And just like when he created man, man didn’t all of a sudden come through some evolutionary process to become like we are today.

but God created Adam with two arms and two legs and 10 fingers and 10 toes and so on and so on as a complete individual. And God, when he created the heavens and the earth, he created it just as he wanted it to be. And we believe that all the angels that are on this original earth, Isaiah 14, describes Satan, Lucifer at that time, living on the earth and plotting a rebellion to leave earth, go to heaven, overthrow it and take over.

And obviously, he was cast back down to the earth and life was destroyed. So we believe the seven days were a recreated week and there’s every indication to believe that. It says in Genesis there to Adam that he was to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. And obviously, if you use the word replenish, it means there was life there before and it was to be punished again. I wouldn’t make a big point of that, except it’s used the same word in the Hebrews, used in chapter nine, verse one, of Noah, and life had been here and had been destroyed, and then he tells Noah to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth, and many, many, many more hints.

I have several CDs that I would recommend that would go through this at length if you really want to get into this, But that’s exactly what I believe that the earth is very old, but human history is only 6,000 years old. And that life on this planet was once destroyed. And we have the fossil evidence of life prior to Adam in the petroleum that we use today, the oil deposits around the earth, the coal deposits are our vegetation that has been fossilized.

and the petroleum is animal life that’s been trapped and has become the fuel today. But I believe that the earth has the evidence of a catastrophic judgment upon the earth that destroyed all life. And I think the earth has actually had two of those. The flood was one with Noah, but that life survived in the ark and life obviously began again with that life of the animals that were in the art. But I hope that helps a little bit and we sure do thank you for your call.

Thank you. We have Mary. In Clearwater Florida, and she says, will the Jews go back to animal sacrifices during the tribulation? And if they do, will God visit the Jews during this time, as he did in the Old Testament? Will the ark resurface during the tribulation? Well, I think you’re probably talking about the Ark of the Covenant, not the Ark of Noah. But when the Jews go back to animal sacrifices, the answer is yes. a temple will be rebuilt.

Daniel 9 tells us that the Antichrist will stop the sacrifices. It will have been resumed halfway through the tribulation and march into that rebuilt temple and proclaim to the world that he’s got and the men to be worshiped. So absolutely, animal sacrifices will be offered again. Right after the rapture, the temple will be rebuilt. And we believe that it could be at any time because the preparations have already been done. The stones have been cut and preparations for the sacrifices.

There’s actually a mock temple down in the Judean desert near Jericho where it’s a scale of one to one and priests are being trained to offer the sacrifices during the tribulation period. So we’re, I think, very, very close. We have Bonnie in Richmond, Virginia. He leaves this off air question. Explain Hebrews 6, 4. And that one of course is talking about a believer. You can’t fall from your salvation, but the Bible uses phrases like fall from your steadfastness, from your confidence.

And that’s the idea in the book of Hebrews where a Christian gets away from serving the Lord and they need to get back serving again. And it’s saying if you do, it’s impossible for you to be saved again. It says it’s impossible for you to be renewed under that change of mind which happened when you got saved. So once you get saved, it’s really in a paternal security verse. It says you’re stuck. You can’t go back and become saved again.

Verse nine there in chapter six of Hebrews talks about how that it’s things that accompany salvation that he’s talking about and how that God is not enrighteous to forget your labor of love. reward you for whatever deed, no matter how small you do in the name of Christ. So, Hebrews is not talking about loss of salvation, which is generally what people think. It’s talking about if you get away from the Lord, if you don’t get back and start serving again, you will suffer loss of reward.

And the writer of Hebrews is saying, don’t let that happen to you. In chapter three of Hebrews, It says in verse 12, take heed brethren, talking to the believers, lest there be an interview, an evil heart of unbelief into parting from the living God. What it’s talking there about is just as Israel when they departed from the living God in the fact that they didn’t believe the promises of God, when they were led out of Egypt, God had them wander around in the wilderness for 40 years till they all died out.

So they never got in on the blessing. They didn’t lose their salvation, but they never got to enjoy the promised land, which was not a picture of heaven, but it was a picture of the victorious Christian life, seeing God deliver their enemies into their hands and to prosper them and so on, and to eat the good fruit of the land that God had promised to them. But he was never talking about loss of salvation. I hope that helps Bonnie and we sure do thank you for calling in today we have Nila in Lake Mary, Florida And she says my son is a believer his pregnant girlfriend is not as She has stated is there scripture stating he should marry her because she is pregnant No, but he ought to try to lead her to Christ since she’s carrying his baby.

The point is in the Bible is that you need to make sure you’re marrying another believer before you get married. But in this case, I think 1 Corinthians 7 would apply, and that is you probably ought to lead her to Christ. And then of course lead your children to Christ. But we have a CD, this wonderful idea, if we could get that into her hands and have him play that for her. We have a large percentage of people that hear that CD, how permanent is your salvation gets saved.

And we’d be happy to send you a copy free if you want to get to him to play for her. But it shouldn’t be impossible to lead her to Christ, although she could He said, no, but people generally don’t trust the Lord because they don’t understand the gospel. And they’re rejecting what they think the gospel is, which is not the truth. So, Nila, I hope that you’ll get our CD calling and we’ll send you one. We’ll make sure it gets read out to you and send that over to your son and have him play that for his wife.

and see if you can’t lead her to Christ. That’s the right thing to do. And then go ahead and marry the girl. Absolutely. I’m Dr. Englund’s chairman. We’re about at the end of today’s program. We’ll get back with you tomorrow. And I hope you’ll join us every day this week as we come to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church.
