Well, good morning and welcome to Bibleline great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast. We want to welcome you to the Bible and program. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and I am your host and we’re here Monday through Friday. I’ve been on the weekends we play the best of. We’re coming to you from our studios right here in Tampa right next to the airport at 4811 George Road, which is at Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor.
4811 George Road is where we’re broadcasting from and we welcome you to come by and visit with us and say hi. And we are here till about three o’clock every day and you can come by and knock on the door and say hello and visit our Bibleline Resource Center. We have a number of wonderful books and resources and Bibles and Bible Dixterries and commentaries that I recommend that I think will be a great help to you. And it will help Bibleline also as we need to obviously have your help in order to be able to stay on the air.
And we’re We’re going to be talking about the Scripture, so if you have your Bible handy, you can pull them out and get them ready to go here as we talk about the Bible. So by the way, you can get my Sunday messages morning and evening for about $20 a month sent to your home. But you can call our number here after the program is over and get information about all of that. We’re going to go right into the Bible today and again we’re living in a time right now we’re approaching the return of Jesus, rather the time when we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
And that is the resurrection which is probably the holiest day for Christians that we celebrate. The fact that Jesus was crucified, buried and rose again from the dead. We said yesterday that I have a chart that I developed, and you’re welcome to that for free. If you can drop by and pick it up, you can, or you can send me a self-addressed envelope. That’ll be the best way. And just ask for the chart on the Crucifixion Week, but I begin with the Sunday prayer to the resurrection.
Beginning on Palm Sunday, we work our way through the Crucifixion Week and through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and we cover all the passages and when everything will take place. So you might want to maybe get that sheet, and the way you do that is just to come by and pick it up or ask for it over the phone, or you can send me a self-addressed damn tambourine, which makes it easy. I’ll give it a dress a little bit later so you can write in to us and ask for that sheet.
There is no Ash Wednesday in the Bible. It purely is of pagan origin. There is no Lent in your Bible. take your Bible and shake it a little bit. Lent might fall out, but no Lent. There might be L-I-N-T in your Bible, but there’s certainly no L-E-N-T. It is something that is pagan, goes all the way back to Genesis chapter 10, and you see it as a system that Nautiated God back in the Old Testament in the book of Ezekiel because it is the counterfeit of the true plant of salvation where people who observe Lent are supposedly earning their way toward heaven by the good deeds that they do, fasting and giving up and so on.
And it’s amazing to be. Last year one man said, I gave up alcohol for Lent. What kind of a statement is that? I can’t believe it. But anyway, uh, Lent is pagan. It is not biblical. And there are many misconceptions concerning the whole death barrel and resurrection of Christ. I believe Christ was crucified on Wednesday, not Friday. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. You know that Christ was raised on the first day of the week and we know he was in the grave for three days and three nights.
So if you can count forward, I’m sure you can count backward. And if he rises on the first day of the week and you go back one One day that Saturday, two days that’s Friday, three days that’s Thursday, he has to be crucified on Wednesday. A child can figure that one out and yet we are led to believe in the good Friday myth. I call good Friday plain Friday and Wednesday of the crucifixion week good Wednesday because I believe that’s when Christ was crucified and I think it can be easily demonstrated.
What I’m saying cannot be refuted because the Bible is quite clear about when these things took place. But the wonderful, wonderful truth in the Bible is that you can be sure of going to heaven before you ever die. Did you know that? In 1 John 5 and verse 13 it says, these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. Now the word believe there is from the Greek word that is used throughout the New Testament for believe.
It means in English best it means trust. In order to be saved, you have to trust Jesus only or Jesus alone. Do you know if you’re trusting in Jesus plus baptism you’re not saved? Did you know if you’re trusting in Jesus plus living the Christian life you’re not saved. Did you know if you’re trusting in Jesus plus confirmation you’re not saved? If you’re trusting in Jesus plus the church you’re not saved, did you know that Jesus alone over in Galatians chapter 5 and verse 4, it says, Christ has become of no effect unto you.
Who’s whoever of you? And if you add anything to what Christ did as a means of your trying to enter heaven, then Christ will count nothing for you. The only way you can be saved is to be saved by trusting Christ alone as the only means of your salvation. as soon as you trust in anything else in addition to Christ, in reality, you’re not trusting Christ. You’re really not trusting the boat at the dock to hold you until you take both feet off the dock.
You’re hand off of the rope that’s connected to the dock and you sever your connection to the dock. Only then are you truly trusting the boat to hold you. As long as you’ve got a hand on the dock, hand on the rope or a foot on the dock and a foot on the boat, you’re not really trusting the boat. You have to come clean of that. Just like the dying thief, he could do nothing to save himself, but simply trusted Christ and God saved him.
I warn you because there are a lot of people who claim to be Christian who I believe are not Christians and they’re trusting in these other things. Let me turn you to Matthew 722 now. In Matthew 722 it says, many will say to me, Jesus says, in that day, Lord, Lord, didn’t we preach in your name and heal in your name and do wonderful works in your name?
Christ says in verse 23, I’ll say unto them, I never knew you. He didn’t say I had once knew you and I lost you. That’s impossible. He said, I never knew you. Why? What was the problem? They didn’t say, Lord, we trusted in your death and your shed blood as the only means of our salvation. If they had said that, he would have said, welcome, come on in. But notice they’re bragging about the things that they were really putting their trust in.
Why we preached in your name, why we healed in your name, why we did many wonderful works in your name. That’s a wrong answer. If you’re trusting and living the Christian life, witnessing for Christ, healing people, doing wonderful works in the name of Jesus as the means of your entrance to heaven. My friend, you’ll go to hell, Jesus will say to you, you’ll be in that group he’s talking about, he’ll say, I never knew you, I never knew you.
That’s scary, isn’t it? Millions apparently, he says many will stand before me at that day, which is the day of the great white throne judgment described in Revelation chapter 20. And they will say, Lord, look at what we did. And they’re bragging and boasting about their accomplishments. they’re not saying that they trusted in Christ’s death at Calvary in order.
Well, Jesus Christ is God and He is the only way to heaven. And Jesus said in John 14, 6, I am the way. He didn’t say you and I are the way. Or the church and I are the way. Or your family and I are the way. Or whatever it is, baptism and I are the way. He said I am the way. Jesus alone is the Savior. And you must trust Christ as the way. as the way, as the only means of your salvation.
Or you’ll not be saved. I’m pleading for souls. I’m not splitting hairs. This is what the Bible teaches. And there will be many, one day, Matthew 722, read it for yourself, that will brag about the wonderful things they did in the name of Jesus, claiming to be Christian. And yet Jesus will say, I never knew you. I never knew you. Not I once knew you, but I never knew you. We’re gonna go to the phone lines. I’m Dr. Englunds from this is Bible and it’s great be with you.
Thanks for tuning in. We have Linda asking yesterday about, she’s from safety harbor, first time caller by the way, but we couldn’t get her from there. We ran out of time. About Revelation chapter 21, is it talking about heaven or the New Earth? And it’s talking about neither one. It’s talking about the New Jerusalem, which is our heavenly home which will orbit the new earth and the gates are open day and night so I believe we’ll be able to go in and out and enjoy the new earth that God will create.
But Revelation 21 Linde, if you’re listening today, is talking about the new Jerusalem. So really it’s not talking about heaven. The Bible says, John says there in Revelation 21 he saw the new Jerusalem descending from heaven. So heaven is still in the north, we believe, in relationship to our earth and universe. And the New Jerusalem is the city of the living God where we will live with him and it is going to come down here to the earth and I believe will orbit the new earth and we’re going to enjoy both.
Linda, thanks for that question. I’m Dr. Hank, this is Bible and we’re going to go to Fred in Tampa and Fred, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning. Hey, how are you? Good. I don’t know if if you read the article in the newspaper and the tribute this morning about the no-gibson movie the passion of christ i did not anyway uh… the article started out okay but towards the end the writer uh… mention that uh… that they were contradictions in the gospel and i just can’t believe he wrote something like that he needs to be challenged he’s probably reading news magazine they just came out with one the same thing and they just uh…
tried to disparage your reading the Bible saying that it was a full of errors. Yeah. But you know, don’t believe that. You know, Peter tells us about this in 2 Peter chapter 3, he says, knowing this first and in the last days it will come scoffers walking after their own lusty with scoff at the Bible and demean the Bible and attack the Bible. And so when this happens I say, Lord, you’re coming soon because we are living in a day When the Bible is under attack, Jesus is under attack, Christians are under attack.
Today, they’ve basically taken any reference to God and just said, you know, let’s march outside of the school because you can’t be in the school, you can’t be in the courthouse. They took Moses and the Ten Commandments out of the courthouse in Alabama. I mean, we’re living in a time now when Christians are being censored. And we’re told that we can’t talk and tell people about our Savior, Jesus Christ. Right. And we’re in the last days. The Second Peter chapter 3 verse 2 for our listeners and want that verse.
It’s a good one. I just called to see if he can enlighten us, the listeners out here in radio land on the seeming contradictions which we know are not contradictions with actually prove the genuineness of the Scriptures. And if he could just comment on the seeming contradictions, thank you all. I’ll just hang out. I’m still looking for one. I’ve been studying the Bible for a lifetime, and I still haven’t found my first contradiction. I usually challenge those who say there is one to, let me hand you my hand, I wanna hand you my Bible and show me one.
And I was like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, I don’t know where they are, but you know, it’s just loaded with them. And they poly-pair it with what they’ve heard, and they don’t really know a passage of sight. But what we have in the Bible is we do have four writers who write the four gospels, and each one of them tell the story from their perspective. And so sometimes there seems to be a contradiction, and yet there isn’t if you maybe have a greater knowledge of what’s really going on, and if you read the four gospels and compare them because they complement one another, and they supplement one another.
Let me tell you a story. I was in Jerusalem, and I’ve led groups over the 13 times to the Holy Land, And I always like to take my groups into a The environment of the modern Jew and let them see not only the ancient places where Christ lived and walked and talked, but also to the places where the Jewish people today live and shop. And so I took them into a supermarket and we were down in the supermarket walking around.
We went over toward the meat and dairy and fish section and all of a sudden this bearded guy comes up to me and he had this full giant beard and he looked like he’d been out in the sun a lot. And all of a sudden he looks at me and he says, hey, how are you doing? And I said, oh my goodness, how does this guy know my name? Turned out he was a student of mine when I taught at Florida Bible College down in South Florida in Fort Lauderdale.
And he said he’d been there working as an archeologist on a dig. And we had a great time, we came out of my hotel that night and my group was absolutely flabbergasted. He said, how does this guy know people in Jerusalem? and I was just as shocked as they were. But anyway, I had him come into my church. He was working on a dig and he said, one of the seeming contradictions is in one passage where Christ heals two men.
It says in one passage he leaves Jericho. The other passage says he’s arriving at Jericho. And he says it’s easily resolved. If you have been over here and you study, the ancient Jericho was destroyed. When Joshua, remember the story of Joshua in the battle of Jericho? Almost feel like breaking in the song, but I better not because I’ll drive my audience away. But Joshua and the battery of Jericho, you know the story, the well, the walls came tumbling down and Jericho was destroyed.
And so a new Jericho has emerged, which is the one that you would travel to today. And so what was occurring here in the gospels is that he was leaving one Jericho and arriving at the other. So the Bible account is true. The one simply mentioned that he left Jericho and he left the old Jericho And now he was arriving at the new Jericho, no contradiction. So Fred, that’s an example of it, and there are hundreds of, perhaps not hundreds maybe, but there are many of these so-called seeming little things that they pick up on.
But it’s their lack of knowledge, their lack of understanding of the Holy Land. I’ve seen so many people on the trips that I’ve taken to Israel. I’d love to go again. I’ll say I’m salivating thinking about it. But there’s something about going to Israel that really just, you can visualize the Bible. So many things are clarified in your mind. And so many times people go there and they said, oh, really, you know, we see the artists and they portray things in a certain way.
And I always thought Calvary was a nice green hill with three neat crosses standing on the top of it as a kid. You get there, it’s a rough weather-worn, ugly piece of rock with a skull faced, etched in it through time on the one side. It’s called the Hill of the Skull. and it was not a pretty place. And so obviously many misconceptions become clarified when you go there. I hope that helps Fred, thanks for the call. We now have a caller from, he’s not on the air, and I guess he’s roaming around and says, we don’t know where he is, but St.
Anthony’s calling in. He says, what do you think about Bubba the Love Sponge being off the air? Well, praise God. That’s the end of that. We now have a caller off the air, Brad calls in, and we’re trying to get people up live on the air as quickly as we can, but some people are working and they can’t stay on the air. And he asks, what about Jesus Christ’s superstar? Well, that was blasphemous. It denied the deity of Christ.
had some beautiful music in it. The one tune sung by Mary Magdalene to Christ was a love song. And in there she says that Christ was nothing but a man, merely a man. And that was blasphemous. And so Jesus Christ is God. And so the Jesus of Jesus Christ superstar is not the Jesus of the Bible and is blasphemy. Next question, didn’t we go through this anti-Semitism claim during this movie? And what do you think about the movie? Well, I told you what I felt about the movie and this anti-Semitism thing keeps rising.
But everybody’s responsible for the death of Christ because we all were responsible because he died for our sins. So I’m guilty of nailing him to the cross. And so are you. whether you’re even if you’re an unbeliever, you’re guilty, because he died for all of us. Really, it was our sins that put him there. And if you trust him as your Savior, God will save you. We’re now gonna go to Lou in Tampa, Florida. Lou, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Year.
Dr. Angus is a lawyer. How are you? Good. I’ve got a question for you and then I’ll hang up with your answer. A friend of mine was studying the King James Bible and he said that he believed that Jesus and John the Baptist weren’t cousins because Mary and Martha were from different tribes. If you could go ahead and expound on that, I appreciate it. Alright, well if you note what the Bible says in Luke, it does say that Jesus is a they are related.
So you can’t argue with that. Let me just turn over to the passage in Luke’s Gospel where Mary goes to visit Elizabeth and she, they’re both pregnant. It says here in verse 39 of Luke chapter 1, Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste into a city of Judah and entered into the house of Zacharias and saluted Elizabeth. In a kingdom pass that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
And here they were together and obviously both were excited about the fact that Elizabeth was carrying of course John the Baptist and Mary was carrying the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. But if you read verse 36 of chapter 1 it says, Behold thy cousin Elizabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age. Now that is actually directly from the angel Gabriel, telling Mary that her cousin Elizabeth had conceived and so if the angel Gabriel says that Elizabeth is a cousin I think I would say that he’s probably right.
What do you think? And of course, Lewis, off the air now. But Luke 136, like cousin Elizabeth, the angel Gabriel told Mary that. So obviously he knew the physical relationship there. We have Joe and Brandon live and Joe, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning. Just what that actually means is for physical or just mental or what all it means. And I’d like to hang up. Well, Lou, Joe, Joe and Brandon asking about what does it mean that we’re created an image of God?
Well, one thing is for sure that we’re created a triune being. God exists as one God, but he exists as three separate eternal persons God the Father God the Son got the Holy Spirit and the Bible is quite clear about that teaching no doubt about it and we’re also created as tried triune beings body soul and spirit and There are numerous verses in the Bible that allude to all three parts of our makeup in one verse. And so we are triune beings.
And also I believe it means we’re created in his image in other ways. God is a rational God. Isaiah 118 says, come and let us reason together. He makes us rational beings so we can reason things out. Also God is a volitional God. He makes choices and makes decisions and he invites us to make the decision to trust Jesus Christ as our Savior. And so we can make choices. God is an emotional God. He loves, he hates, he has many of the emotions that he has implanted in us that we also can love and we can experience sorrow and joy and God rejoices and God is sorrowed.
And so all of those things are true. And I believe really that we’re going to get to heaven and find out that there much, much more, and it’s much deeper than we look at it on the surface and probably even physically. Obviously, we have a body now that is created in the image of Adam, but when we get our resurrection bodies, our bodies will be having the appearance of Jesus. And we’ll have a body like his body, not that we’re gonna be a replica of what Christ looked like, but we will have an appearance like Christ.

All right, we’re back from that break. This is my… This is Bible and I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. It’s so great to do with you. By the way, take a look at my website, BibleLineMinistries.org.com. We’re working toward going out beyond Tampa. We were at the National Religious Broadcasters Conference, and there were 6,000 people signed up for that. Broadcasters and TV and radio. And we met with the powers that be, and they want to launch me out further. And we’re going to need help to get that started.
And so I hope you’ll pray with me that the Lord will supply what we need to be able to launch in those areas. But we definitely need your prayers and we need your help and we’re praying that we can take the Bible and broadcast to the nation. And if you’re one of our Bible and family, those who stand with us, those that vote to keep this program on the air by their prayers and their financial support, pray that God will supply so we can bring this voice, this voice of the word of God to people around the country.
Wouldn’t it be great? Well, we have Tina in Tampa and Tina is a first time caller, or no, she’s called before her. Welcome back to you, Bible Head. Hi, Dr. Hank, good morning. Good morning. I have a question for you. I have two questions, actually. I have these for work and she said you have a witness. Okay. We were talking in a shigok. Jesus is not God. Where does He say in the Bible that He says to God? And I said, oh, I’ve got a coin here.
Well, very good. And you got your pencil ready. OK, Tina, Isaiah 9, 6, says a child would be born. A son would be given. His name would be called Wonderful Counselor. And then it says the mighty God. And then it says the everlasting Father. so it’s clear the prophecy said that the child would be the mighty god the everlasting father then if you turned i say seven fourteen is said god would give a sign a virgin would conceive and bear son who would call his name i thought the point she made she said since this is what’s conceived in the human-based bellard that i think you will want to make him god and i thought well i believe god took on a human point you know just for us to know that he knew what we could do or he knew how he would first like to be a human.
You’re exactly right. And see, she’s missing the whole point that the conception had to do with the flesh that God took upon himself. And the child was to be called Immanuel, which is a Hebrew word that means God dwelling with you. So this would be a child who would be the God-man. Of course, John’s Gospel, chapter 1, in the beginning was the word. The word was with God and the word was God. And then it says in John 1 14, in the New Testament the word was made flesh and dwelt among us.
Jesus is clearly God there and I know what they do and their translation, they say that they put the article A in here and they say the word was A God. Now when they do that, go ahead and let her do that to you. If you show her that passage in John 1-1, here is the eternal God who was existent before the beginning. In the beginning was God. And the word was with God. And the word was God. And then it says verse 14 that he was made flesh.
And that of course talks to the incarnation when Jesus took on human flesh and became our Savior. But when she points out that, and of course it’s incorrect, that Jesus is a God and not the God, then you go back to Isaiah 43-10. I hope all my listeners are writing this down. Isaiah 43-10, this is the verse that the witnesses take their name from. It says, you are my witnesses, sayeth Jehovah. Of course it’s not talking to them, it’s talking to Israel, but they somehow think it’s talking to them.
In Isaiah 43-10, I want you to know what it says here. You are my witness to say, the Lord, my servant whom the Lord, whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Then he says, here’s what you’re to witness if you are a witness for Jehovah. Be for me, there was no God formed. Neither shall there be after me. So when they say that Jesus was formed after Jehovah, that he is a created being, he’s not the God, it is a god where they said you said that god said that yes but but i say forty three ten if you get the picture here god says that there is no a god there is no other god but himself and the claim that jesus christ is a god makes them false witnesses of jahova If you follow the point, they say he is a
God and here Jehovah says there was no God formed before him nor would there be a God created after him. And they say that Jesus Christ is a created being and he is not the God but he’s a God and that makes him a false witness according to the very verse that they take their name from. So they’re proven right there to be false witnesses. And I tell them you’re a false witness because you claim that Jesus is a God and that he was formed after Jehovah.
And Jehovah says in the very verse you take your name from that there was no God before him nor will there be another God after him. So there is no such thing as a God. And also, can you please comment on the training thing, like the father, the son, the Holy Spirit? Sure. Because my 12th year old and I were doing Bible studies and she said, Mommy, I’m confused with this thing. So anytime Jesus says, my father, who is Jesus referring to?
And that kind of confused me myself. Well, I said, okay, let me call Dr. Hernstrom. Maybe he can give me some people. Thank you, Tina. I’m gonna hang up and comment on that. We’ll talk about it. You know, the Trinity is a difficult doctrine for everybody to comprehend. There’s no doubt about it. It says in 1st Timothy 3 16, without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness, which has to do with how he exists as one god and yet three separate eternal persons.
But they’re numerous verses of Matthew 28, 19, says to baptize them in the name singular of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And we could turn to many verses that talk about all three members of the Godhead in John’s Gospel. Jesus Christ says, I will pray to the Father and he will send a comforter to you. And so here we have the Father, we have the comforter who is the Holy Spirit and then we have Christ being.
So we have all three members of the Godhead and numerous verses in John’s Gospel. But in nature, I guess maybe your child would be able to understand this, that H2O, which we know is water, can exist in three separate forms. It can exist as a gas. If you heat water above 212 degrees, it becomes a vapor or gas, and yet it is still H2O. According to 12 and 32 degrees Fahrenheit, it exists as a liquid. That’s how we normally know of it.
Below 32 degrees, and up north they experience this all the time, it becomes a solid. And yet it’s still H2O. It doesn’t change the chemical composition at all. But so H2O below 32 degrees is a solid. It is above 32 degrees, up to 212 degrees, a liquid, and above 212 degrees, it becomes a gas. So that’s one of the wonderful marvels in nature, is that we have examples of the Trinity, where it is the same chemical composition, and yet it manifests itself as three separate forms.
Now all human illustrations break down, and I don’t purport that we can ever fully understand in heaven with the Lord, but he eternally exists. In Genesis 1-1, it says, in the beginning God, the Hebrew word is Elohim, which is plural. And plural in Hebrew means three or more. So in Genesis 1-1, it says, in the beginning God, which is plural, which means three or more. Of course, it is the whole of the Godhead. And then it uses a singular verb, how that he created the heavens and the ears.
So God acting in concert within himself in all three members of the Godhead being present and involved as the creator of the universe, singularly creates the heavens and the earth. And the same is true of man in verse 26 and God which is Elohim plural said, let us make man in our image after our likeness. Ask the Joe’s witnesses to explain that. It’s plural in Hebrew and you have all three members of the Godhead. the Holy Spirit mentioned in verse 2, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, Genesis 1-2.
So it’s obvious that the Bible teaches it and we’ll have to wait until we get to have fully understand it. Tina, thank you for your call. This is Bibleline, I’m Dr. Ankermsrum. I believe we’re getting close. You know they’re talking about this wall in Israel. Everybody, the nations, you know, want to partition or other part Israel, divide it all up. They don’t like Israel to have this wall, and they’re all complaining. the What’s amazing is that the Bible in Deuteronomy 2852 talks about a wall that is high, that runs throughout the land, that Israel would put their trust in.
I believe it’s probably talking about this very wall. And it talks about the end days when this nation from halfway around the world, that will fly as an eagle into the Middle East. You know, that’s a symbol of us. We heard in 9-11 how the eagle’s feathers were ruffled, and how the eagle would take revenge on the terrorists. And we have already gone into the Middle East and taken over Afghanistan and Iraq. And I believe it’s just the beginning of the in-time prophecies being fulfilled.
And it talks about this high wall that runs throughout Israel that will be taken down by the Antichrist. We find the nations don’t like it, and Israel is really made out to be the bad guy when they’re just trying to protect their lives from people who are willing to murder by blowing themselves up. So we need to pray for Israel, not about it, and we are living in the last days. Our phone number here at Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771, and we have Beverly in Pine Nellist Park.
Beverly, welcome to my online. Are you there? Yes, I’m here. OK, you sound far away. I guess it’s probably my phone. I’m sorry for that. All right. You hear me? I hear you well. OK. The reason that I called is because when you were talking about when that question came up from the gentleman who asked about God’s image, one of those things that you pointed out was raising power, which I thought was very good because the last couple of days I’ve been channel surfing because it’s very difficult to find anything on TV that’s worth watching.
So I try to find documentaries and I look at the history channel and in doing that there were two different programs that I saw portions of. And here is where the reasoning power God gives to us is, I think, is very important. One was a Catholic layman, evangelist, and I didn’t know that they had evangelists in the Catholic religion. But the profound statement that he made was that he used to do healing in Protestant churches. However, he stopped doing that and became a Catholic.
And since he started doing it in the Catholic church after Mass, he has healed 48 people, three of them being totally blind who can now see. So the Lord gives me reasoning power to not accept something like that. The other one was, I believe it was on National Geographic and it was about a doctor who praised with his patients. And they were just, the program was literally carrying apart the power of prayer. And one of the statements that was made that was, when you pray for someone who is not close to you, who is far away, there is, they find no mechanism.
that would, where prayer would actually be of any good source. And here again comes the reasoning power, the wisdom that our Lord gives to us to find that non-acceptable. And I thought about all the people that might have been watching that program who have sons and daughters overseas. And having someone actually say, well, if you’re praying for them, don’t do it because it doesn’t go any good anyway. So if you would comment on those two things, I would really appreciate it.
Well I’ll sure do that. Thank you for your call. Okay, thank you. It’s interesting that there’s a common denominator here. The Charismatics heel and the name of Jesus, the Catholics heel and the name of Mary, the Buddhist heel and the name of Buddhist. They do the same thing, they have the sling and the spirit. All these things are common. The gibberish that people do also are done by all the world religions. And yet they don’t have to pray to Jesus to do it.
They pray to Mary or they pray to Buddha and they get the same results. and of course the the which doctors in the jungle get the same results as well they do the healing they do the gibberish and i think the common denominator is that it is not gone uh… that this is a false counterfeit In the last days that we’re observing, and we need to have discernment by reading the Bible to recognize what is going on here. In the last days, it talks about the wonders and signs that people would do, the miracles that people would do would become very, very much a tool that Satan would use.
Let me quote you a verse now. Matthew 24 24 Matthew 24 24 think about this Jesus said in the last days when asked what would be the sign of his coming He says don’t be deceived. He says there will be many false Christ and false preachers who will show great signs and miracles Now who is he who’s he saying in the last days that will give great signs and wonders or miracles He says it’s false teachers that will do that and And he says in the next verse, behold I’ve told you beforehand, he’s given us the church two thousand years advanced warning so that we could be on guard and watch for a movement of miracles that would occur in the last days that would be of Satan’s origin false miracles.
And in the book of Revelation it talks about the false prophet who is the counterpart to the Antichrist in the tribulation period and it says that he has the power to do miracles in the sight of men by which he’ll deceive the nations which are on the earth. So miracles in the last days would be done for the purpose of deceiving people and misleading them and taking them in the false doctrine. And nowhere does it say that miracles would be worked by genuine believers.
Now I certainly believe that God can heal today. And if you have a loved one who is sick, we pray for the sick in our prayer meeting. But I believe in divine healing, but I don’t believe in divine healers. If you can pick up on that difference, there’s a difference. I believe in divine healing. When it’s God’s will for you to be healed, he can heal you. But I don’t believe in divine healers that can come around and slap a hand on you and heal you.
We have a young man in our church, his mother, went to the Benny hand meeting. She was so-called slain in the spirit. She broke her left arm between the shoulder and elbow, serious break. They put her on a stretcher and carried her out. I thought to myself, why didn’t they carry her to the stage? They carried her out of the place. This woman has a difficult breakdown. It’s gonna be a long time healing break. That was in the meeting.
You don’t tell you about how many people go to these meetings that are injured. I have another man in my church that has a serious back injuries when they slew him in the spirit, he fell down against the pew, they told him to lay quiet because they had insurance and he still has continual back problems from the injuries that he had when he was in a healing meeting and was injured and the story goes on and on and on they just don’t tell you about how many people go away hurt rather than healed.
If I had been there I would have taken that stretcher to the stage and said look, repair what you did here you broke this lady’s arm now heal it. She’s at home healing and she needed to have help at the stage, not have the ushers take her out of a stretcher. It’s amazing. We have Dwight in Clearwater on the line. Dwight, welcome. Good morning. Hank, how are you doing? I’m doing fine. First of all, congratulations. I’m going national. I think that’s great.
Oh, we’re not national yet, but we’re stepping out to some big markets. And we are asking people to pray for us as we move forward here. i certainly hope you get washington dc that was great well that’s the first place they want to put us right uh… going back to this uh… melgetson the passion uh… i know that you said you saw it and you thought maybe great and i’ve heard the same report from a lot of different people i didn’t say it was great i said it’s pretty scripturally accurate it’s it’s got some things that i i don’t agree with but for the most part uh…
i’d just say it’s pretty good but i’m not even supposed to come and tell tomorrow tell what it’s released right well i’m not asking for you i’m not trying to put you on the spot uh… however i i i i i i i i i see some problems about the controversy that that’s occurring here mostly through gibson uh… there was he was interviewed old seven ten days ago and he made the statement that he felt that even though his wife was a better human being than he was uh…
the choose to go to hell if she wasn’t catholic uh… And then, I guess it was this weekend, he was interviewed by Diane Sawyer on Primetime Live. And she asked him the question. He is a heaven bard to Jews, Muslims, and Protestants to which Gibson replied that that does not the case at all. And then he said that people who are not even Christians can get into the kingdom of heaven. And then he made the statement that even, well, non-Christians can enter heaven, but that it’s an easier ride for those that happen to be Catholic.
So I can see a lot of, I hope there’s a lot of, I hope people out there that don’t know the Lord, that are seeking Him, don’t use Him as some kind of prophet. I guess that was pretty much my comment. I’m not sure if you know. I don’t know how to respond. It’s confusing. You know, whenever you depart from the Bible to get your answers. So I don’t look to Mel Gibson and I don’t look to anybody else to get my answers.
I look to the Word of God. That is the authority. And I’m not the authority. The Bible is the authority. And if I speak according to God’s word, then I’m speaking truth. And if I speak according to someone else, or if I speak contradictory to the Bible, then I’m wrong. And that’s true of everybody that’s out there. Any preacher who preaches, and what he preaches, if it contradicts the Bible, he’s wrong. And if he preaches in accordance with God’s word, then he’s right.
And we all need to go back to our Bibles and take a fresh look. But the problem in America today is that most people know very little about their Bible. If you ask the average person on the sweet corner, how many verses of scripture can you quote, they might just hold up a big zero with their fingers and I know prior to my salvation I could quote two verses, believe it or not. One was John 3 16 which I didn’t understand.
The second one was Jesus wept, John 11 35. And I understood that one but the one I needed to understand, I didn’t understand. But that was about all I knew and I had that ready as an answer for somebody because who has raised in a church environment and they would ask you sometimes you can you quote anything and I’d say yeah I can quote two verses and that got me by. So Jesus’ web was my safe one. I like a couple of them in first us alone, he’s by the way too, rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing those are my favorite short verses that I’ve memorized and so if you want to build your repertoire up to about four or five, you can do it.
Jesus said, I thirst. I love all those short ones. We can go on quoting all day. Right. Also, in little news flash, we had a 6.5 magnitude earthquake in the Straits of Jill Peralter early this morning, too. Well, look at that. Well, there’s a whole lot of shaky new on on. Apparently, the earthquake frequency and intensity has been increasing over the past years. And probably a sign of the last days the Bible says that Christ will come back and shake the earth.
So we’re getting ready for it. Okay Hank, we’ll have a good one. Thank you Dwight. That was Dwight in clear water and I’m going at the rapture my friend and I hope you are. You can come out tonight and join our classes. I hope you will. I mean get in your car, aim toward the airport. When you get close, find the road that borders the airport on the west. Bibleline at 4811 George Road, Tampa, Florida, 3, 3, 6, 3, 4. If you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, why not do it right now? Just tell the Lord, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand a whole lot about the Bible, but I trust Jesus Christ right now as the one who died, paid for my sins and full of the cross by his death and shed blood, was buried and rose again from the dead.
I trust Jesus Christ right now as my Savior, as my only hope of heaven. I trust Jesus Christ as the one who died to forgive my sins so that I might enter heaven and I might have eternal life. In your own words, the best you know how when you trust Christ, God saves you, that make that second choice to serve Him. And that will bring about rewards and blessings as rewards are earned, but salvation is a gift, and we trust Christ to be saved.
And then we serve Him to honor Him and to earn rewards in heaven. And does it really mean that you hate your father and your mother and your children and so on? But you, in contrast to your love of a ward, that love for others would be considered hatred. You need to love a ward first, and that should be a priority in your life.
