We’re so glad that you joined us here today.
As we told you in our previous listener updates, Bibleline has undergone some format changes. All of us here at Bibleline have been working very hard and are excited to bring you the new format for Bibleline. We pray that it’ll be glorifying to God and pleasing to you. In striving to continue Dr. Hank Lynch’s work of spreading the gospel across the world. Bibleline has now been reformatted so that each program will feature a combination of teachings from Dr. Lindstrom as well as answers to questions about the Bible.
Much of Dr. Lindstrom’s teaching material that we will be using has not been broadcast before. This is a format that Dr. Lindstrom had previously talked about using in other ministry areas, so we feel comfortable that he would have approved of these changes. We hope that you will enjoy this new format. As you look forward to hearing future Bibleline programs and detailed teachings from the Word of God, please tell your friends to also tune in and listen to Bibleline. Perhaps you could even start a small group Bible study based on the lessons taught.
In the current teaching series, we will cover a variety of topics related to the events leading up to and surrounding the resurrection of Jesus, including topics such as the wages of sin, everlasting life, the triumphant entry, Palm Sunday, the Passover, the crucifixion and burial of Jesus, and of course, the resurrection of Jesus. If you missed any of the teachings in this series, just give our resource center a call at 1-800-576-3771. Now if you can, please open your Bible to Mark chapter 8 and join us for Dr.
Lyncham’s teaching for today. Exercising spiritually and living for Christ will have promise of now and eternity. That’s what it’s saying back in Mark 8. Let’s go back there now. Whosoever will, in a sense, the best word I guess would be, spend his life for my sake in the Gospels. The same will have saved it. Then verse 36, I’m amazed at how many evangelists, how many preachers use this verse to put pressure on people to respond at the invitation, and they make it a work-sylvation message.
It says, what shall it profit a man if he should gain the whole world and lose his own soul? And they say that, wow, you could gain the world but yet go to hell. It’s not saying that. It’s not saying that at all. It’s unfortunate in the King James translation is not reading clearer for us. But first of all, A key word here and rightly divided into word of truth is the word profit. If you would mark that in verse 36, what shall it profit a man?
Salvation is never, ever spoken of as profit or gain or reward. Salvation was purchased by Christ and is always, without exception, offered as a gift. We simply receive salvation. But this passage is talking about profit rewards. What rewards will you have if you neglect to live for Christ, even if you gain the whole world? Let’s say that you could somehow own the world and you could be the guy who owned the world. Well guess what? It says here that you would lose.
The word looser is better perhaps said as forfeit. forfeit your life. You will have forfeited when you come to that time. You can forfeit by not showing up, right? If two people in sports come to compete, one doesn’t show up for the event, he forfeits, doesn’t he? The other one automatically wins. And a lot of Christians are forfeiting their opportunity to have rewards in heaven by exchanging that opportunity for other goals and other objectives and other values which will only benefit them here.
This passage is saying, what if you gain the whole world? What profit would you have when you die? You will have forfeited your life and you will have zero rewards in heaven. What do you think about that? Well, obviously it should get our attention. Or what shall a man give in exchange for his? Should read life, really. It’s talking about your life lived from the time he gets saved. What will you exchange for that? We have an example in the Old Testament.
Esau was a profane man, one who was after the flesh. He was out hunting. He came home tired and hungry. And he wanted that bowl of soup, little soup, or whatever it was that was made. It’s not really clear what kind of bowl it was, but he was hungry and he was willing to sell his spiritual life out for that bowl of soup, or whatever it was. Later he regretted it. Later he wanted it back. Later it was too late.
He had made a bad choice that directed his life. And so many times people will sell out for things of not that much value. You can ask yourself what’s most important in your life. Well, for me is to live as sports. Maybe sports is your life and you follow every game and you know all the stats and all the players. And I’m amazed that the people who can do that, they can recall games years ago and tell you who won and who the great players were and they follow them right on down.
I like sports but I don’t go like that at all for sure. But whatever it might be, it might be for me to live as my career. What is your career? Is your career taking over your perspective and what you’re doing with your life? Well I like what armor said, of armor meets when interviewed years ago. He said, I am a full-time witness for Jesus Christ, and I pack pork on the side to meet my expenses. Well, that’s the right kind of, I think, perspective.
Obviously God may give you a vocation to earn a living for you and your family. But is it really number one in your life? Does it really just cloud out everything else? And nothing spiritual is going to happen because that’s your total focus? Well, whatever it might be. We have to ask ourselves. Where does Christ fit into this? And the Bible says in several places that we’re to put Christ first. And then God will take care of all the other things in our life.
And He will bless our efforts and our vocation or other areas. But God wants us to put it first. So it says here in verse 37, what shall man give in exchange for his life? that I really think of as Moses. In the book of Hebrews, it says he could have been Pharaoh. He had been adopted by the Pharaoh’s daughter. He was in line to the throne of Egypt. He could have been the richest, most powerful man on the planet.
But it says in Hebrews 1126, Moses esteemed the reproach of Christ, greater riches than the treasures in Egypt. So he chose to suffer affliction with God’s people, rather to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Do you think Moses made the right choice? I think we would all agree, wouldn’t we? And yet, if you were in that position, would you have chosen to be Pharaoh and be the richest most powerful man on the earth? You were in line.
All you had to do is keep your mouth shut, don’t talk about Jesus, and you’d be Pharaoh. But Moses said, no, I’m going to talk about the Lord. I’m going to live for Christ. I’m going to do what God wants me to do. And obviously, He forfeited the treasures in Egypt. But what did He gain? He gained the treasures in heaven that He said He believed were much greater than the treasures in Egypt. If it had been the other way around, He would have forfeited what God offered Him in heaven in exchange for the riches and power and glory of this world.
I think Moses made the right choice. And that’s what we’re reading about here. Verse 38, Jesus says, “…whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him shall a Son of man be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with his holy angels.” In other words, one day we’ll stand giving an account. when we stand before the Lord when He comes back, and will He be proud of us or will He be ashamed of us?
Will He reward us or will we suffer the loss of reward? Where will we stand? And that’s what this is all about right here. It’s not talking about earning salvation or working for salvation or gaining salvation, but it’s talking about the benefits of living for Christ after you get saved. It’s going to bring about eternal dividends. As somebody once said, what on earth are you doing for heaven’s sake? I like that. What on earth are you doing for heaven’s sake?
Because what we do here will count there if we do it for the Lord. Christ said, lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. And we do that as we live each day for the Lord. And there’s lots of things you can do. You say, well, I’m in a secular job. You can be earning rewards every day in your secular job. Let me have you go to Ephesians. And Ephesians will be over to your right, and I’ll give you the page number when I finally arrive.
In chapter 6, it says in verse 5, if you’re an employee for somebody, it says here, servants, and the modern word today would be employee. Ephesians 6, page 1255, verse 5 of chapter 6, servants be obedient to them that are your masters or your employers according to the flesh with fear and trembling in singleness of your heart as unto what? Christ. You ought to serve your employer as faithfully as you would serve Christ. It says, verse 6, not with eye service as men pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.
In other words, be a good employee, be an honest employee, put in your full day’s work. Don’t cheat the boss. Don’t take off early or come in late, but be there on time and do a good job. Give it your all. It says, with Goodwill doing service as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he’s a slave or free. In other words, the Lord is going to pay you for that.
You’re going to be compensated for that. If you’re a good employee because you’re a witness for Christ, God is going to compensate you. You might have a boss you hate. You may get up in the morning and say, I can’t stand. You’ve got to work one more day. But if you go there with this new outlook that you’re going there to be a witness for Christ and live for Him, it’ll change your whole attitude about your work because you’re not serving that employer, you’re serving Christ.
You don’t work for Him, you work for God. And when all is said and done, God is going to reward you in heaven for being the good employee that you were to that boss and you never know who might get saved. And I’m not talking about witnessing on the job or having your Bible open on your desk, But I’m saying as opportunity arises, that you let it be known, a lunchtime or break time or other times where you stand and that you’re a witness for Christ.
And God is going to reward you. There are so many areas where you and I can earn rewards that are not out there on a platform preaching to people. But as you do what you ought to do each day and live for Christ, God is going to pay you back. He will recompense you for whatever you have done for Him. So, as a believer, that’s what Christ is saying here. Where will we stand when we stand for Him? Will He be ashamed of us?
And will we be ashamed in His presence? Or will He be proud of us? In the book of Job, it was God who was pregnant on Job. Did you realize that? When Satan came along, he said, Satan, have you happened to notice my servant Job? He’s the best of the best. He hates evil, He loves me, He’s serving me. Job was a man who got all his children saved. I believe those were the ones that were killed. They were all called sons of God in that chapter, not angels.
And angels didn’t ever call sons of God. And all of his children were killed when Satan destroyed the house that they were celebrating in. They were the ones that were worshiping the Lord, I believe, in Job chapter 1 when it talks about that. And God is bragging on Job. I believe whenever we do things for God here in this earth as a believer, that God is up there saying, I’m proud of that believer. And that pleases God. And there are verses that talk about pleasing God.
And the way we please God is that we live for Him and are obedient to Him. One day when you come right down to the bottom line, who do you want to please? I want you to go to Galatians. Paul obviously became very successful as God’s man. Because, and I’m turning to this other Bible because Galatians chapter 1 fell out of my Bible, I’m going to have to concede unless I memorize every word on every page. I’m going to have to switch over to another Bible.
And so that’s going to be a big task to remark it. But in Galatians chapter 1, look at what Paul says here. In verse 10, do I now, Galatians page 1241, Galatians chapter 1 verse 10, do I now persuade men or God, or do I seek to please what? Men, for if I yet please men, I should not be what? So if you’re living your life to please people, make them all paddycake you on the back and say how wonderful you are, then you’re probably not going to be pleasing God.
And that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t do everything in love or with kindness and thoughtfulness. But Paul says here, if I pleased men, then I really am not going to be the servant of Christ. Because when you stand up for Christ, you’re going to get criticized. You’re going to get ridiculed. And you’ll get opposition. You have to choose who you’re going to serve. Elijah told the nation of Israel, choose you this day, who you will serve. Joshua said almost the same thing in the book of Joshua.
Who are you going to serve? Are you going to live to please the Lord? Or are you going to please men? If you please men, you come out the loser. If you please God, he’s going to reward you. And that’s what really counts, isn’t it? To have his approval, to have his rewards coming your way, the profit that God will give you is much more important than anything else we could ever have.

you’re on the air welcome to Bibleline I know lint isn’t in the Bible and Easter is in this pronunciation of resurrection Sunday but our whole faith is full of rattle and of mystery religion doctrines that amalgamation of different themes such as the well even the ceremony of symbolically eating the flesh and drinking the blood of a dying and rising God is hundreds of years and the themes of being born again and being saved came from the cult of ISIS.
So our faith is full of Mr. Religion doctrines that are, it was inescapable. Those things had to come into our faith because they’ve taken for practicing those rights and communal services for hundreds of years. I believe Paul being born in Tarsus must have been very well aware of all those parents who probably can, Jewish conundverts or whatever. He was probably well aware of these ceremonies and the cult of Attif and everything he could. Well obviously when he went to Ephesus for example he destroyed their idol making business they worshiped Diana, which is another form of Asphara.
And I’ve been to Ephesus and these other Revelation churches in Turkey. And these false religious systems were prevalent. In fact, in Delphi, Greece, I saw a temple that predates Christ. And there you have the sign of the cross on there. Although it’s not a cross, it’s a tea in homage to Tamuz. Which of course is the origination of this whole thing way back in Genesis chapter 10. So I mean it was everywhere long before grace ever came and it’s the counterfeit and that’s why we have to go back to the Bible and know what is truth and what isn’t and get rid of the nonsense.
Right, but Paul wasn’t the first to come under fire for hurting the idol making business. If you reach the Old Testament, there are several instances of that. I was just reading last night where they, I forgot what book it was, but the, where the Bureau of the Story had gone into the temple and destroyed the altar of Bao and made a sacrifice on it and then You know when the people woke up the next morning and saw their altar had been defiled Because they made a sacrifice to the true god.
They were quite upset Absolutely, Israel was always battling that system and many times as this isn’t judges chapter 2 they forsook the Lord and worship Baal and His mother asked for off and God of course was hot against Israel because of this and he was very angered by it and obviously today we still have it creeping into our Christian churches where they don’t even realize it’s paganism and the people are not alerted by anybody I don’t know why anybody doesn’t speak up about it because definitely that’s these are non-Christian practices that churches are urging Christians to practice and And even the Roman Catholic Church this past week is talking about necromancy and praying to the dead where they had their people in France praying for this nun who had Parkinson’s disease and they prayed to John Paul II.
And supposedly two months after his death, he healed her and now this is the basis of a miracle so he can be made a saint. And the whole thing is crazy. It’s absolutely practices forbidden by the Bible that are being done. And plus the Bible teaches, St. Hood is instant. The moment you trust Christ, you’re made a saint by the blood of Christ that we are declared saints at the moment we believe. I hadn’t heard that about the Bible.
I’m glad you stay on top of these strings, Dr. Hank, because I don’t have time for it. I know it is such an… It’s very enlightening. It really is a wild world out there. It’s hard to keep up with it all, but thanks for calling in. Sure, thank you, Dr. Ian. That was Brad up in Richmond, Virginia. And yeah, that’s apparently the investigations have begun now so they can be out of five. Just poke John Paul the second and go through the process of making me a saint which is Contradis scripture because obviously you’re made a saint the moment you believe by the death of Christ It says in Hebrews 10 10 by the which will we are sanctified as the verb form of the Word that in the noun form is a saint you are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus
Christ once for all So when Christ died We become sanctified through believing or trusting in his death for us at the cross of Calvary We hope that you have learned with us by listening to the question and answer segment featuring Dr. Hank Lindstrom and collars from previous Bibleline radio shows. We have to take a break now, but we will be right back with more teaching from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Don’t go away Bibleline will be back in a moment to pledge your support for Bibleline.
Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well this is Bible item Dr. Englunds, so we’re going to get into the Bible for a few minutes. And he will desecrate the temple that will have been rebuilt. And he’ll place his image in that temple. And when that happens, those that are… . . . . . . . . . Believers reading the Bible will find the following instructions. It says in verse 15 of Matthew 24, when you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet.
Daniel spoke about this. Jesus is quoting Daniel here. When you see that abomination of desolation, which we believe is the image of the Antichrist, it will be lifeliked and be placed in the temple in Jerusalem. When you see it stand in the holy place, there is the holy place right now. The temple that Christ entered into two thousand years ago was destroyed in AD 70 by the Romans and there is no temple. But the holy place will be reconstructed.
There will be a third temple built right after the rapture and when the Antichrist places his image there. Can you imagine how close we must be? The stones are already cut and you know there’s been a lot of fear here just in the last couple days about finding the arc of the Covenant. It’s amazing how the world is becoming more aware of this arc of the Covenant, as even the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark was about this arc, and about how, of course, the Germans wanted to get it because of the power that they perceived that they would have if they had that arc in their control.
Well, it’s very fascinating that there are different speculations as to where that arc is, but that will be part of the furniture in that third temple. And it’s interesting that we have lots of people talking about and possibly they believe it is actually there underneath the temple mount. Gershaun Solomon who we’ve had here several times and probably we’ll have back again was on an interview yesterday on national television where he was talking about he believes that it was a hidden underneath the temple mount.
And we’ll just have to wait and see, but a lot of things are happening and developing now that we believe are in time signs and signs of the return of Christ. Well here it says, who so readeth let him understand, Matthew 24, 15. Those Jewish people who are saved in the tribulation period, living in Israel, when they see this antichrist, places image into the temple, whose silver is reading, let him understand. the answer what they are to do, then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains.
Let him that is on the housetop, not come down to pack his suitcase. You don’t have time. The Antichrist is going to turn against the Jewish people and slaughter as men as he can. It says in verse 21, For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world, to this time no nor shall ever be. The worst time in all of history is ahead of us, my friend, and it’s the Tribulation period that will follow the Rapture, and the Jewish people are told to run.
Fleet of the mountains. Now, in Jerusalem, if you flee to the West, you’ll head right to the Mediterranean Sea. But if you flee to the mountains, you’re headed toward Jordan. And what is interesting is if you draw a line between Jerusalem and the city of Petra in Southern Jordan. cuts diagonally right across the Dead Sea and guess what? This is such an amazing thing. The Dead Sea has been, the water level has been going down because they’re not allowing water from the Jordan to flow into the Dead Sea anymore because they’re using it for agriculture and water in the whole country.
But therefore a sandbar has been revealed that cuts diagonally Across The Dead Sea straight toward Petra in other words God has created a shortcut for those that are running from the Antichrist And it’s so fascinating to see I was standing there on the top of Masada Which is a mesa that rises up 1200 feet from the floor of the Dead Sea and you can oversee the Dead Sea quite well from that perspective And you can see this diagonal Sandbar that is a shortcut that the Jewish people fleeing won’t have to go all the way around the Dead Sea they can shoot right across to the mountains of Jordan and there be quickly in Petra and be hidden from the Antichrist.
Well, obviously we’re living in exciting times and God has prepared this place and he’s prepared the shortcut route right across the Dead Sea and the Jews people will flee and apparently a third of the people in Israel will be saved and will flee and will be spared from the Antichrist as they hide in in the Rock City of Petra and God will feed her there and give her water and protector from the anacryse interesting stuff I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is Bibleline.

Let’s go now over to John’s Gospel chapter 12 is where we’re going to go. Verse 12, on the next day much people that were come to the feast when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem took branches of palm trees and went forth to meet him and cried, Hosanna.
Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. And so here we have the event of Palm Sunday. Christ is coming and notice the crowds are already assembled for us over. And here they are hearing about the miracle of the raising of Lazarus from the dead. And they wanted to catch a glimpse of Lazarus. They wanted to catch a glimpse of Christ. And here they are on the slopes of amount of olives in Christ now is going to come down on an ass.
Verse 14, in Jesus when he had found a young ass sat there on as it is written, fear not, daughter of Zion, behold thy king cometh sitting on an ass’s cult. These things understood not his disciples at the first, but when Jesus was glorified then remembered that these things were written of him and that they had done these things unto him.” This was, of course, predicted, and there’s the quote there from the Prophet Zechariah. If you want to turn back there for just a moment, I’ll give you the page number.
But Zechariah 9-9 is the passage being cited here. Zechariah 9-9, verse 9 on page 9-73. Zechariah 9-9, rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion. Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem, behold thy King cometh unto thee. He is just and having salvation lowly in riding upon an ass upon the cold, the full of an ass.” Amazing, isn’t it? Here this was told 500 years plus before Christ came the first time, and here is the prophecy how Christ would come down the slopes of the Mount of Olives, and how that Jerusalem almost rejoice.
Because this was a very significant event. Here was their king who would now be rejected, and he is just, he has salvation. He’s lowly in riding upon an ass as he comes down the slopes of this mountain. We have the crowds crying out, Hosanna, turn to your left to the prophet David Psalms 118. Here we have David. a prophet of God also here in the Psalms. This is a Psalm that is read every Passover by the Jews and is a Psalm about Christ.
And this is Psalm 118. Now in this marvelous Psalm, it says here, verse 22, the stone which the builders refused is become the head of the corner. This is the Lord’s doing. It is marvelous in our eyes. This is speaking about Christ, who is the stone, who is rejected by the nation of Israel. This, of course, is the Lord’s doing. It is marvelous in our eyes. Verse 24 says of Psalm 118 says, This is the day, page 657. This is the day which the Lord hath made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it. That verse is a popular verse, but most people don’t realize what it’s saying. Most people might have it as a plaque on their wall and their home and they get up in the morning and they read the verse. This is the day that the Lord hath made and will rejoice and be glad in saying that let’s rejoice in this day, but in reality it’s talking about Calvary. It’s talking about the day that Jesus would die.
This is a day that God had planned and made. And here this Psalm talks about Jesus. This is the day which the Lord hath made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. And you know for us as believers, don’t we rejoice in the day that Christ died as He died there to pay for our sins. And here they were reciting from this Psalm which the Jewish people every Passover recite and they don’t realize that it’s talking about Jesus.
But it is. Then notice it says in verse 25, save now. Now the Hebrew form of that is Hosanna. And Hosanna means save now. We just read a moment ago as the crowds cried out, “‘O Zana, or save now, I beseech the O Lord, O Lord, I beseech the sin now prosperity.’ They believed the multitudes, the crowds believed this was the Messiah. And here he had raised Lazarus from the dead, which was the crowning ministry of his ministry, and they were saying that this has to be the Messiah.
And so they were crying out that he would bring salvation and that he would send now prosperity. Then verse 26 says, blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. And what an interesting phrase. Because Jesus, when he was rejected, and Matthew 23 tells the people of Israel because he was rejected that he was going to leave and go back to heaven and that they would not see him again until the nation of Israel would say, blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Now we know his name is Jesus, but the Hebrew is Yeshua. And so it says blessed or happy is the one that cometh in the name of the Lord. What does that mean? We just been studying here in John that Christ said no man can come except by me. And so when you come to the Father in the name of Yeshua or Jesus, you’ve got to be happy because you know the door is going to be open and you’re going to walk right into heaven.
And those who don’t come in the name of Yeshua or Jesus will not be admitted to heaven. So it’s saying here, blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. And that is, of course, Yeshua. And when you know what Yeshua means, in English it’s spelled Jesus. It means God who would save you. And they’re crying out for Jesus to bring salvation. As Zachariah said, that here’s your king, and he’s coming lowly in me, having salvation, riding upon the coal to full of an ass.
Well, back to John 12. an amazing chapter here because the crowds stralled the way for Christ who was the king. Verse 13 says, they took branches of palm trees and went forth to meet him and cried, which means saved now. Blessed is the king of Israel that cometh in the name of… Jesus, Yeshua. And so here Jesus is coming. Here’s their king and they cry out and then it says, fear not, daughter of Zion. Behold thy king cometh sitting on an ass’ coat in abbreviated form of Zachariah 9-9.
Well these things understood not his disciples at the first but when Jesus was glorified then they remembered that these things were written of him and that they had done these things unto him. So this was a fulfillment of prophecy. The people of verse 17, therefore, that were with him when he called Lazarus out of the grave and raised him from the dead, bare record. For this cause, the people also met him. For that he had heard that he had done this miracle.
And the Pharisees, therefore, said among themselves, perceive how you prevail nothing, behold the world is gone after him. So obviously, all the multidines, all the crowds came because of that great miracle that he had done with Lazarus. And this was the crowning miracle. And now he comes down the slopes of the Malamalazan, Palm Sunday. This is the triumphal entry. And now we’re just a couple of days away from Christ being slain. That week on Thursday, it was the Passover.
Christ was crucified, we believe, on Wednesday. And it was on Tuesday night that Christ had the Lord’s, or the Passover with His disciples and instituted the Lord’s Supper. That was Tuesday night. He was betrayed that night. And Wednesday morning, he was before piloted at six o’clock in the morning and nailed to the cross by nine. At noon, he got him, he shut off all the lights at three in the afternoon, Christ died. So that’s kind of a little preview of what happened.
On Monday, Christ comes back to Jerusalem and sees a fig tree with leaves but no fruit. He curses that fig tree, a picture of how Israel had rejected him on Sunday. On Monday he curses them and the disciples marveled how quickly the tree withered away. And of course Israel has been dead as a nation now for two thousand years. When the fig tree begins to blossom and but again according to Matthew 24, that’s when Christ will come back. We already see the Jews back in their land in anticipation of all that happening.
And we know that after the rapture, during the tribulation, many Jewish people will receive Christ as their Savior and they’re going to cry out, blessed is he the cometh in the name of Yeshua. And when that is happening, Christ then will come back and rule and reign over the earth as king and over Israel as their king. Verse 20, and there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast. And the same came there for to Philip, which was of the satiate of Galilee, and desired him saying, sir, we would see Jesus.
And Philip come up in telefandru. And again, Andrew and Philip tell Jesus. And Jesus answered them saying, the hours come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Barely, barely I say unto you, a corn of wheat. Fall into the ground and die in a bite of the loan. But if it die, it bring forth much fruit. And I believe he’s talking about his own death here and how that in his death he would have much fruit. Many people that would come to know him as Savior and be saved.
Verse 25, he that loveth his life shall lose it. And he that hated his life in this world shall keep it under life eternal. And what it’s saying is that But what we do for Christ after we’re saved will bring about eternal rewards. If we are loving our life where we choose to live for ourselves and not for God or Christ, then we will have lost our life as far as the rewards we could have earned. But if we in a sense as the world would see it, hate our life in this world and live to serve the Lord, we will have kept it or gain the rewards that will be around for eternity as a result.
26, if any man serve me, let him follow me. And where I am, there shall also my servant be. If any man serve me, him will my father want. Honor. So we find that rewards, honor, praise, all come as a result of serving the Lord. We’re saved by simply trusting him, but here it talks about service. So if any man served me, let him follow me. And we know in Matthew 4 19, he says, follow me and I’ll make you fishes of men.
And where I am there shall my servant also be, and if any man serves me, him will my father honor.” And so if we… Servo Lord, God will honor us one day when we stand before Him. Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this cause came I unto this hour. So we notice here Christ wrestling with the cross, and would like to have escaped it, but realize that He had come into this world for this very purpose.
And He obviously was obedient to the Father’s will. Verse 18, Father, glorified thy name, then came their voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it and will glorify it again. The people, therefore, the Sid by and heard it, said that it was, that it thundered. Others said an angel spoke to him. Jesus’ ancient said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. Now is the judgment of this world. shall the prince of this world be cast down?
So here we find what happened at the cross was really the defeat of Satan. As here we have Christ dying and redeeming mankind, and so Satan now is going to be cast out. That will happen at the second coming, but this is the result. Verse 32, and I, if I be lifted up from the earth, which is talking about His death on the cross will draw, notice all men unto me. So the Lord wants everybody to be saved and everybody is being drawn, but not everybody comes to the Lord because they have a free will to reject Christ.
Verse 33, this he said, signifying what death he should die. So here, this is clearly talking about being lifted up on the cross from the earth and dying. We saw it also in John 3 where Christ made reference to the brazen serpent that was put on a pole and held up and it was lifted up in the wilderness and those that would just look on it would be healed. A picture of Christ being lifted up on the cross and all you had to do to be saved is look to Christ and trust Him and you would be healed of the penalty of sin and death and would go to heaven.

We now have Linda in Oldsmar, Florida and Linda, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on there. Good morning, Pastor. This is Linda. And due to Bibleline is how I got saved, and I thank you for your ministry pastor. My question is that I’ve been ill, and a friend of mine has been praying for me. And my question is, he keeps saying, we must pray for the kingdom. And I don’t understand what he’s trying to say. So do you have any idea what he’s talking about, or if this is correct?
Well, he’s wrong. We’re not praying for the kingdom. The kingdom is the thousand year reign of Christ. And right now we as Christians in this age, which began at Pentecost and will end the rapture of the church age, are looking for Christ who is the head of the church to come and snatch us out. But the king is Christ and the kingdom is the kingdom that he will establish, where the Jewish people will be the head nation on the earth.
The Lord’s Prayer, for example, really isn’t to be prayed now. It’s about that kingdom. It says, Our Father with heart and heaven, how will be thy name? Thy kingdom come. It’s a prayer for the kingdom. Then he goes on to tell us about that kingdom. It says, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. During the millennium Christ will be here and will come back with Christ to rule and reign and the heavens will rule over the earth and that is the kingdom.
And so a lot of people have their theology mixed up and they They talk about the Kingdom when the Kingdom is really for Israel. And it’s not for us in this present time. If you’re a believer, we’re looking for Christ who is not the king of the church, but the head of the church. But Christ is the king of Israel. And when he comes at the second coming seven years after the Rapture, he’ll establish that kingdom. And so we’re not to be praying for the kingdom now.
We don’t recite the Lord’s prayer here because it’s not to be prayed until after the Rapture. And during the Tribulation Prayer, it’ll be prayed again. Well, that’s what I thought, Pastor, because I do attend your church and I listen to Bible line. And that’s what I, you know, was led to believe what you just said. And he’s telling me that this pastor, there is studying this and he couldn’t explain it all, but I’m thinking something wasn’t, didn’t feel right.
And I didn’t want to say to him, I’m sorry, but you know, you’re wrong or because he was praying for my health. But if I talk to him again, what should I tell him pastor? They wouldn’t be anything that would hurt him or that encouraged him to know the truth. Well, I hope you could help him. But basically it’s called rightly dividing the word of truth. You have to separate between the first coming of Christ, the second coming of Christ.
You have to separate between the rapture and the second coming, which are not the same. And obviously you have to separate between the church, which is the body of Christ, the The believers included in that are those from Pentecost to La Rapture, and you have to separate between that and Israel, a nation that still has earthly promises that are going to be fulfilled for them, and then separating from that from the Gentiles. So there are three particular bodies. In 1st Corinthians 10 and verse 31, it says that there are those three, the Gentiles, the church, and then there are the Jews.
And so those are three peoples that you have to separate out what God’s program is for each. Romans 9, 10 and 11 are pretty good at showing God’s plan for the Gentiles, God’s plan for Israel and God’s plan for the church. And obviously they are different and you have to pay attention. But of course salvation is always the same. It’s just by faith alone and Christ alone. And Linda, I’d have to recommend probably the Scofield Bible to him, which would be a great help because it rightly divides and separates those things out.

Be sure to tune in to another edition of Bible line from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Well, this is Bible Adam, Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re going to get into the Bible for a few minutes. We have been talking about Petra for a little bit here. We talked about Revelation 12 for the past two days and how God speaks about a place that He has prepared for the Jewish people to flee from the Antichrist during the tribulation period. And we believe that city is the rock city of Petra in southern Jordan.
What’s interesting is that there’s a whole chapter in Isaiah that details exactly what will happen. You can take a look at it. But it says here in Isaiah 16 and verse 1, send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Silla. And by the way, Silla there is Petra. Petra is the name of this rock city there in southern Jordan, 40 square miles of buildings carved right out of the rock. It’s called the beautiful red rose city of Petra because of the beautiful colors of the rocks and it’s accessible only by narrow canyon that when you go through you can look up above you and two to three hundred feet above you.
You’ll see the ribbon of blue, the sun, rather the sky. As you see the walls of the canyon going up two to three hundred feet. It’s quite a spectacular view. And then it breaks open into a city with all kinds of buildings carved right out of the rock. Well I believe in Isaiah 16 verse 1 is talking about Jesus, the Lamb, who will be sent to Petra to gather the believers out of Petra, the Jewish people that will flee from the hand of the Antichrist during the tribulation period.
And it says here in verse 2, for it shall be that as a wandering bird cast out of the nest so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnhem. Take counsel, execute judgment, make thy shadow at the night in the midst of the noon day. Hide the outcast, be ray not him that wandereth. It’s talking here about like a bird cast out of the nest. Israel will be in the land. The Antichrist will come in and invade Israel, take over Israel midway through the tribulation period three and a half years after the rapture.
And then the Jewish people who are believers reading the instructions in the Bible will be like a bird cast out of the nest. They’ll flee, they’ll run. And it says here to Petra or Southern Jordan, hide the outcast. Hide them. Be rain on him that wanders. So these Jews that will be wandering and fleeing will find their way down to Petra. And here God is commanding the land to swallow them up and hide them. Verse 4, God says, Let Mine Outcast dwell with the Moab.
Now Moab is that area of Southern Jordan, and we find that the Jewish people will flee from Jerusalem and from Israel to the mountains over toward Jordan and will be hidden in the land of Moab, which is modern day Jordan. Let Mine Outcast God says, which are the Jewish people fleeing from the Antichrist, dwell with the Moab, be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler. The spoiler of course is Satan, he’s the Antichrist for the extortioner as is at an end and the spoiler seeseth the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
Here it talks about how that at the end of the tribulation period Christ will come back and he will take care of business with Satan and the oppressors that are in the land. I believe all the Muslim peoples will be consumed out of land by Christ as He comes back and destroys the Antichrist and will destroy the oppressors in the land. And then it says, in mercy, shall the throne be established. That’s the Jewish throne where Christ will sit upon that throne ruling over Israel for a thousand years.
And that throne of David will be established, and he, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb shall set upon it in truth and in the tabernacle of David. That is the temple, the third temple that’s going to be rebuilt. I’m Dr. Invens Truman, this is Bibleline.
