Now if you can, please open your Bibles to the Book of Daniel, Chapter 12, and join us for Dr. Lindstrom’s Teaching for Today. Revelation 12 talks about how the Antichrist will go after the Jewish people. Two-thirds of the Jews in the country of Israel are going to be slaughtered. Nine-tenths of the Jews scattered around the world will be slaughtered.
That’s why I have a particular heart to reach Jewish people if we can. because if they get saved now, they go up with us at the rapture and won’t be left for that horrible time when Satan will do all that he can to cause as many Jews to be killed and to not come to know Jesus as their Messiah as he possibly can. So we have here, notice, it says, and there shall be a time of trouble. Chapter 12 verse 1 in the middle of verse, Jesus calls it great tribulation and it says Because you’re such as never was, since there was a nation.
And so in other words, the most awful, darkest hours that history has seen are yet ahead and they’re coming up rather quickly. I believe right now already God is giving wake up calls with these earthquakes and other events that are taking place and wars and rumors of wars and the potential for what might happen in the near future. China might take Taiwan. And amazing things might happen in the near future that’s going to affect our whole life. Already the oil in the Middle East, you see the gas at the pump now averaging at 215 across America.
They say it’s going to $3. That’s definitely going to affect our economy and especially the poorer people in our country. Our economy is going to be damaged and in many expect that there might be a financial crash which might occur about the time the tribulation period begins. And certainly the Bible says that people in the tribulation period will find that they’ll throw their gold and silver in the streets because it will be worthless. So I don’t know, we’ll just watch, but certainly there could be that kind of collapse.
Our people in this country already extended beyond their means with their credit cards. I’m amazed at what some people tell me their credit card debt is and the way that that thing goes is very difficult to ever climb out of that hole once you’ve dug your way into it. So these are in times I believe We know that about it and certainly the world will be cleansed into… A time of deep trouble and it’s ahead. We can see it on the horizon.
Verse 2, here’s the resurrections and these are separated by a thousand years, but we don’t see that information here in Daniel. But in the book of Revelation chapter 20, it talks about them being a thousand years apart. Many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall await. Now speak to the bodies because the souls do not sleep and the souls of the believers are present with the Lord. believers are present with the Lord, but their new bodies will come back from the earth and some to everlasting life.
And then a thousand years later, the great white throne judgment, the loss that we brought up out of Hades and they’ll be given their resurrection bodies and they’ll be raised to shame and everlasting contempt. So here’s a clear picture of heaven and hell all in one verse. I’ve had people tell me, where’s everlasting life in the Old Testament. Well, one place, Daniel 12, too. Where’s Helen the Old Testament? Well, here talks about shame and everlasting contempt. There you have it right there.
So don’t let people tell you as I’ve had people tell me there’s no reference to heaven or hell in the Old Testament. There’s no reference to eternal life in the Old Testament. There’s no reference to eternal damnation in the Old Testament. They’re clearly wrong. And so don’t believe all you hear, except when you’re reading God’s Word, then you can believe at all. Verse 3, they to be wise, she’ll shine as the brightness of the firmament. And I believe that is those who witness.
We covered last week Proverbs 1130, a favorite verse of mine, that heavily motivated me as a young believer. It says, he that wenteth souls is wise. Proverbs 1130. I remember I was a sophomore at that time at the University of Florida. And at that time in my life I thought I was wise. I thought I knew everything. And I began to read the Bible and say, wow, I’m misdirected because if God says winning souls is what is wise and I’m not very wise because that’s what I’m not doing.
I realized I needed to turn my life around and begin to tell people how to go to heaven and because that’s what’s wise. If you’re wise, it says the reward is you’ll shine as the brightness of the firmament And then the next phrase complements the first, they that turn many to righteousness. I think it’s important to know that that means you’re turning people to Christ as Savior because we have to be as righteous as Christ in our heaven. None of us are.
But when we trust Christ, we are made the righteousness of God in Him. Many people think this phrase wrong. I think if they just go out on Del May bring clean up all the bars and close down all the… that’s turning people to righteousness. And certainly I’d like to see all those places gone, but turning people to righteousness means not changing their life around, but turning them to trust Christ when Christ’s righteousness is credited to the account of the believer.
And then positionally they’re seen as righteous, And then of course they can live for Christ and earn rewards in heaven. But the phrase turning many to righteousness means that we point them to Christ as the means of the righteousness that they need to enter heaven. If you give people to change their lives around, it won’t necessarily save them. Hold your place here and look at Matthew 7. And here’s an interesting verse which what is so interesting to me is that the Bible is clear that works don’t save people.
But I’ve seen that the devil can get people to change their terminology and say the same thing and then they say they’re not teaching works for salvation. And particularly in the area of what we call discipleship or lordship salvation where they require you to be obedient to Christ’s life and ultimately then you become saved at the end which is not what the Bible teaches at all. We are saved at the moment we trust Christ and forever thereafter based upon what Jesus did for us, not what we do for Him.
But in Matthew 722 it says, many will say to me in that day, Lord Lord, please notice this group acknowledges the Lordship of Christ. Then notice they show how they have been obedient to the Lordship of Christ in three areas. Why we preached in his name, we’ve healed in his name and in Lord your name we have done many wonderful works. So they acknowledge the Lordship of Christ and their obedient to the Lordship of Christ. Verse 23, will Christ say, good for you?
No, he says, I never knew you. Not I once knew you and I lost you. I never knew you. It’s impossible to be saved and lost. He didn’t say, I once knew you and then I lost you. I never knew you. Why? They didn’t say, Lord, we trusted in your death and shed blood at Calvary as the means of our salvation. And the fact that you were buried and rose again from the dead. The Bible tells us very plainly that you have to believe or trust the gospel message to be saved.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. These people are trusting in their works. But today, Satan’s come right around the corner and says, well, we’re not really teaching works. We’re just teaching that we have to acknowledge the Lordship of Christ. And here are people that obviously acknowledge the Lordship of Christ and profess their obedience to his Lordship and go to hell. So Lordship Salvation can take you straight to hell. It’s the devil’s trick. And it’s just semantics and it’s changing the words around.
But basically, there’s a lot of people I believe that you have to work alongside of God in concert with him until you die. And if you do that faithfully, you go to heaven. If you don’t, you go to hell. That’s all works. I am saved by what Jesus did for me in the past. The true plan of salvation always takes the lost and dying center and points him back to the cross of Calvary, where Jesus, of course, paid it all.
And the false plan of salvation always causes us to look to our future. So, if you’re being asked by any preacher to look to your own feature and things that you will do or not do as the things that will determine whether you make heaven or not you’re listening to a false message, the true message always takes us back to the cross where Jesus said it’s finished. Thank you for joining us. We hope that you’re enjoying today’s teaching on the book of Daniel.

We’re going to go to Joseph and Orange City, Florida. Joseph, welcome to Biola. Good morning, Pastor. I have a question in Genesis chapter 9 in reference to the nakedness of Noah.
It says that he was a, and then I looked over in the leopardicus chapter 18. Right. I believe what happened there is that his son committed a homosexual act with his father while his father was drunk. And to uncover his nakedness means he had a sexual act with him. And obviously these were some of the sins committed before the flood and that was why God brought about the flood and destroyed those that lived on the earth during that time.
And I think that this is what happened and that’s why it was a sin not just that he saw his dad with no clothes on but did he actually uncovered his neckiness in that he had a sexual act with him. And that’s what the, if you read a little bit, it’s 18, 19, and 20, those types of sins are described in that way to uncover the nakedness of your sister means you had incest and you had sex with her and that would be wrong.
Thank you so much for that question. We’re now going to go to Leonard and Leonard is in Richmond, Virginia. Leonard, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Good morning. I heard you’re speaking this morning about the witnessing to the hundred and the forty-four thousand and helping them and minister to them. I’ve only read one place in the Bible that I prefer to the hundred and forty-four thousand Jews. I think this is in the book of Revelation. The Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that only a hundred or four thousand of them are going to be saved and all this.
So I just want to know where did they get there from exactly what is 144 comma. They’re going to come and return to there or they’re going to be people that are already on there. One hang up and listen. Okay. Those are Jewish men on the earth probably right now. And if the rapture were to happen today, these men would be evangelized and won to Christ by two Old Testament prophets that are going to be sent back, I believe Moses and Elijah.
And then through their witness, they’ll lead the 144,000 of Christ, who in turn will, according to Revelation 7, 9, lead millions to Christ. But they are mentioned twice in Revelation chapter 7 and again in chapter 14 of Revelation they are all men, they are all Jewish and they are all virgin men. So they are not married and they have not had a sexual relationship with a woman. It says these are those which are not defiled with women, they are virgins.
And so obviously the Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t qualify. They are not Jewish, number one. And then they would have to be a single virgin man in order to qualify as well. But they’re not even saved yet. They’ll be saved after the rapture and perhaps we’re already planting seed with some of these right now as we share the gospel with unsaved Jewish men. We have Linda in Dunedin, Florida. Linda, welcome to Bibleline. Hi, Pastor Hank. With all the devastating news and the catastrophic end time revelation taking place right before our eyes.
What should we as believers be doing and praying for and telling others about? I know that Psalms 91 is our refuge in our safety and secret place, but in a world where we see these things unfolding and people are stressing and anxiety is happening all around us, how would you advise us? What should we do to comfort these people? Well, you know, if you have internet access or you can call it an ask for it, but I have an article that I’ve written called Latter-day Checklist and it lists 26 things that every believer ought to be doing in the last days.
And it actually tells us in the Bible in the last days, these are things that we ought to be doing. So I would recommend you get that sheet and just notice that there’s a scripture to support each one. And these are things that that we ought to be doing for sure. But one thing I know is that we’ve got to be getting the gospel out because should the rapture happen, these people that don’t know Christ will be left behind for the darkest hours of human history.
We certainly don’t want that to happen until we want all of our loved ones, our family, our children, our grandchildren, our aunts, uncles, and nephews, and grandparents, and everybody that we can think of that we’re related to and the people that we love and care about that they would go to heaven with us and be caught up in the rapture. To be left behind leaves it uncertain because Satan will be deceiving the world and the world will be blinded for the most part and many, many, many people will not come to know the Lord during the tribulation although millions will.
So this is a time of instructing people and what the Bible says. And for the believers, our blessed hope is coming down out of the sky. It’s Jesus himself who will catch us up to meet him and will be forever with him. So until he comes, we should be busy obviously sharing the Word of God, which is where real comfort and real instruction comes. hopefully learn that, give you an idea to call in and you can ask for that sheet on the latter day checklist to be sent to you and you can study that and I think you’ll find it very helpful.
Oh, thank you so much. Can I ask a question with regards to the rapture and the saints being lifted up out of the ground six hours later before it was a question that was regarding rapture. Well, the point is that two things happen at the Rapture. Those that have already died are with the Lord. And the Bible says that the body presents with the Lord, but they are without their resurrection bodies. Nobody gets their resurrection body, tell the Rapture.
And so the Bible talks about the dead in Christ shall rise first at the Rapture, and that’s referring to the body. But if you read 1st Thessalonians 4, 14, it talks about their souls, which are already with Christ. Will Christ bring back with Him? And then their bodies rise up from the earth and soul and body will be reunited. Then we have those living believers who split second later will be caught up to meet them in the air. And so it all happens in the twinkling of an eye, but it all happened at one time.
I’m going to get my resurrection body just a fraction of a second after those who have already died that are believers getting their resurrection bodies at the event of the Rapture. But the unsaved dead will not get their resurrection bodies until after the thousand year reign of Christ. So obviously there are two things going on at the Rapture and that is the… He’s a person that has already died, getting their resurrection bodies that will come up from the earth to meet their soul that Christ brings back with him from heaven and then those that are living that are caught up and are transformed into their new bodies all the way up.
Thank you so much. Okay, I hope that helps and thank you. We have an offer of color from Pembroke Pines in South Florida. Lee calls in and he says, why did God in all of his perfection and ability create such a flawed creature as sinful man? He did not make us wonderfully perfect as he could have done. Well the answer is he created man in innocency and we Rutherford because of Adam and Eve’s sin in the garden. That’s why this happened.
And of course, God could have created robots who would have just said, I love you, God, I love you. But he wanted creatures of choice. And so he USL knew in advance that if he allowed choice, there would be those who would reject, it would cause sin and anarchy and rebellion and the consequences of those things to enter into his universe, but God chose to do that because he wanted creatures of real choice, which we have. And obviously one day all sin will be banished and all the lost will be banished forever and heaven will be a wonderful place.
We now have, let’s see here, we have Tim in West Jefferson, Ohio. All right. Tim, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello. Hi. My question is from the second epistle, Thessalonians, that would be chapter 2 verse 2. It mentions in verse 2, the day of Christ is at hand. And in my opinion, now that’s in the King James Version. In my opinion, that refers to the Rapture itself. And I was wondering what your thoughts might be. Oh, I agree with you.
And it does. And verse three tells us about a departure that will happen and then the tribulation period will be underway and the Antichrist will then be revealed. Some have concluded the departure would be a departure from doctrine and they call it apostasy. Even Dr. Schofield has that in the center margin which I disagree with. I believe the departure is that of the one who hinders iniquities in this world, which is that hinders iniquity will be taken out of the way.
That’s the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit involves an each and of is believers. And when He departs, we depart, which means It means the rapture and then the tribulation period is underway and the antichrist will be revealed and describes then that Christ will come back seven years later and destroy him. Verse 8 with the brightness of his coming and with the… the power of his word. So Christ will take care of the Antichrist after he has been revealed when the departure happens and the day of Christ is underway.

Hank Lindstrom. For Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Open our Bibles, we’re going to go to the book of Romans and we’ll go to chapter 10. One of the verses that is oftentimes misused is Romans 10-9. That if I also confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus. I want to stop right there because it really should read Jesus as Lord. But what happens so Niet is with many people they have been taught wrong and they take it that that means master or Lord of your life.
And they say that to confess him as your Lord would mean that you submit to the Lordship of Christ and are obedient. and serving Christ all of your life. That’s not really what this is saying. In the context it’s clearly here, talking about Jesus is God. And the quotes here are from the Old Testament where the word is God’s personal name, the Tetragrammaton, the YHWH, which we often translate or pronounce as Jehovah or Yahweh. And it’s really talking about you must acknowledge the deity of Christ in order to be saved.
You have your Bible there, turn a few words of Philippians, let me take you to a little sidebar here, and in the book of Philippians, it tells us about Jesus, that Jesus is God. This is essential, and a major doctrine in the Bible. To deny the deity of Christ means you’re not#$#$ accepting the Jesus of the Bible, and if you don’t, then you will not be saved. We know it tells us over in 1 John 2, 23, whosoever deny of the Son the same hath not the Father.
The cults all deny the Jesus of the Bible and deny His deity and therefore they do not have the Father. Isn’t that amazing? I always think of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. They are Jehovahless. You see, they deny the Son and if they deny the Son they don’t have the Father so they don’t have Jehovah or Yahweh. While we find the wonderful book of Philippians tells us in chapter 2 that Jesus, who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.
So here we have a verse that tells us that Jesus was in the form of God and he thought it not robbery to be equal with God, because he is God. Jesus is God. But it says here as he took on flesh, he made himself of no reputation and took upon him the The servant was made in the likeness of Ben. This is Philippians 2 verse 7. So Jesus here took on the form of a servant. He was made in the likeness of Ben and being found in fashion as a mumble himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Verse 9 tells us that we also have highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name. The name Jesus is above every name in the universe. It is really God’s name combined with another Hebrew word that means salvation, Yasha, and Yahweh and Yasha together are Yeshua. And Yeshua occurs over 130 times in the Old Testament, and in English it’s pronounced Jesus. Jesus is the name which is above every name, the highest name in the universe.
And look at what it says in verse 10 of Philippians 2, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven, things in the earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Now here is what you have as a clear explanation of what we have in Romans 10 and 9. And that is to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. And it really means there he is Yahweh or Jehovah, the God of the Old Testament.
And guess what? This is a great passage because this very same passage is a quote from the Old Testament where we clearly have it being Jehovah. Turn if you will. We’ll come back to Philippians, but turn if you will to Isaiah chapter 45. And in this wonderful chapter of Isaiah 45, it talks about God, the Creator. Yahweh is the one that is speaking here in Isaiah 45, and he says in verse 22, Look unto Me. Look unto Me and be He saved.
I’ve had people tell me salvation isn’t mentioned in the Old Testament. Are EntityItem they reading the same Bible? It’s quite clear here. Look unto Me and be He saved. Who? Notice this as all the ends of the earth. Everybody on the planet is affected by whether or or not they would receive the Savior who is God Himself who took on human flesh, Lord Jesus Christ. I’m going to go back and now join the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour Bible ends.
Here we go. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can! Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And now back to Bibleline. Welcome back from the break. This is Tom Perry for Bibleline Ministries. We hope that you’re learning with us as we listen to real-life questions and scriptural answers from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Have you been able to join us for Dr. Lynch from Lynchland’s teaching series on the Book of Daniel? The series covers a variety of topics from the Book of Daniel, such as Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, the fiery furnace, the handwriting on the wall, the lion’s den, Daniel’s many visions and their interpretations, in addition to many exciting prophecies.
We hope that you’ll plan to join us and open your Bible for our verse by verse study of the Book of Daniel. If you have missed any of the teachings in thisPtr, please call our Resource Center at 1-800-576-3771. Now please join us as we return to our question and answer segment and then we’ll return to more Bibleline teaching from Dr. Hank Lynch. We’re now going to Jacksonville, Florida and we’re goingIron to talk to Henry andReporting adherent. Wisconsingnu, behest polygamypaiohandler And James, I think it is the second chapter 14 verse and those four verses after that, me and my wife were talking about works and faith.
He was a great, and she was reading how faith without work is dead. Now we both understand that you have to trust in Christ in order to be saved and to get to heaven. But I thought that it was faith alone that got you to heaven and I was wondering, in James, when he was saying that, was he saying that faith was dead? if you truly become a new creature in Christ, Converted you would do works for him? Or really, faith is dead without works EntityItem Okay, whatdinand is he’s talking to believers and he’s talking about rewards in heaven.
Verse 14, when he says, what the prophet, my brother, He’s talking to the believers, my brethren. And the word profit refers to reward, things that are earned. Eternal life is without exception, always spoken of as a gift. We cannot earn salvation. Our works have nothing to do with it whatsoever. And so here he’s talkingREL about profit, regain, or reward, and all of that is earned based upon our works. Now he’s also here talking about the judgment seat of Christ.
He’s not talking about going to heaven. He’s talking about if you read verse 12 of James 2, it says that every one of us are going whatsoever we speak or whatsoever we do, we need to do it as. As those will be judged by the perfect law of liberty. That’s what happens at the judge’s receipt of Christ. So everything we say and everything we speak will one day come into account and James says, what profit will you have if you have faith but don’t have any works.
Then he says, can faith save you? And 0004 it’s not talking about salvation from hell SetTextColor. It’s talking about salvation from the consequences that will happen at the Judgement seat of Christ when every believer will have their works examined and they’ll have to give an account. In other words, it will not save you if you don’t have works from the embarrassment, from the loss of reward, from the regret, from the sorrow, from the tears that a believer will shed at the Judgement seat of Christ.
If you read later in the book of James, James says, if you’re not going to live for Christ, you might as well start crying now. He says, start weeping right now because the Lord is coming. And when he comes, you will not be saved from the loss of reward, from the Ichigo from the shamedness, from the tears that you will shed at the Judgement seat of Christ when he comes back. So he’s talking about reward here, not talking about salvation at all.
And what is so interesting in writing this wonderful chapter 2 of James, he tells us how Abraham was saved without works in verse 23. It says Abraham by his works demonstrated that he had believed all along and the scripture was fulfilled that said that Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. So he points out how Abraham was saved by My faith without works, but how by works Abraham showed or displayed his faith to others and showed that he had a mature faith and Abraham would be greatly rewarded for his faithfulness.
I hope that helps a little bit. I have one more quick question. In the end, when judgment dates comes, I’m going to say that the first question is, Will the righteous be judged also or if the righteous are judged, are they judged, perceived, or are they judged also as the wicked are judged, but we just won’t go to hell. We are going to be judged only for reward or loss of reward. The unbeliever will be judged for degree of LIMITED and HELP.
So belief and unbelief is what determines what a person goes to have in their health. All believers go to heaven, all unbelievers go to hell. But every believer will stand in a judgment called the Judgement of Christ, where their works will be examined and it will be determined the degree of reward that they’ll have in heaven. For the lost, they’ll be in a totally different judgment a thousand years later called the Great White Thorne Judgment, where unbelievers will be judged according to their works to determine the degree punishment and help.
They’ll go to hell because they’re unbelievers because they don’t have Christ but they will be judged and assigned a degree of punishment and help. All right. Thank you for clearing that up on. Well you’re very welcome and thank you for listening and calling in from Jacksonville, Florida. We now have Ron in Richmond, Virginia and Ron welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Thank you Dr. Lynch from we really enjoy you here in Richmond. I have a question about burial, the body being buried in a casket as it pertains to the scripture and you know, they rising up and getting your new body and how that affects everything and I’ll hang on and listen.
Okay, Ron, cremation will not affect your salvation. At one time, I think those who are cremated were making a statement that didn’t leave in life after death. I don’t think that’s happening today. I believe it’s just a tremendous cost of doing a burial or causing some to head toward cremation. If you were burnt in a fire, you would be cremated involuntarily, but it wouldn’t affect your resurrection if you’re a believer you’re still going to get a resurrection body. But in the Bible, We know that the Jewish people always buried and it was a testimonial on their part, a witness to the fact that they proletarian in the resurrection.
Interestingly when Joseph ruled in Egypt and died, he made his brothers promise that they would preserve his bones. And when God would fulfill his promise to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt back into the promised land, that they would take his bones back to Israel and bury him there. I’ve been there to where Joseph is buried up near Shechem near Jacob’s well and his bonesaye there till this very day. But they buried and of course if you go to Israel, if you go to the Mount of Olives and the mountain is covered with Jewish graves and they buried there in expectation of the resurrection.
They knew the Messiah would come to the Mount of Olives and so they would be obviously first in the resurrection they thought he was so close to where he would be. But I perform many funeral ceremonies and many of them today are cremations and I believe it’s the family’s choice. I have no control. I personally want to be buried but cremation would not affect your salvation and obviously because of financial concerns many people are opting to do that. Still if you’re a believer you’re going to be absent from the body present with the Lord And when that day comes for you to get your resurrection body It will not be a problem for God to if he had to even find the very same molecules that made up this body I’m sure he could do it.
Oh Thank you very much. I appreciate all right. Thank you Ron up in Richmond, Virginia We now are going to go to Matthew in Spring Hill, Florida Matthew Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Good morning Pastor, I’m seeing a couple of videos lately that people are sort of critical about how the Lord views slavery and the Old Testament and the New Testament. What are some good points to touch on about that to, you know, a condonement of slavery in the Bible?
Well, you know, slavery has always been around, but you know, under the Old Testament rules, It was not really a horrible thing. The person had a lot of freedom as being a slave and then they could actually become free of their slavery after a number of years. And if a person decided they loved their master and they wanted to continue to live with that family. They could voluntarily become a slave. I think Paul took that term that seemed to be such a negative term, and he used the very same word for a slave in the time of Rome there and said that he was a slave for Jesus Christ.
You know what a statement to make about us in our service to the Lord that we should become voluntary slaves and say, Lord, I’ll just live to do whatever your bidding might be for my life. as a New Testament disciple, that’s really what we should be. We should be slaves to Christ. So I think if you go back and read in the Old Testament, the slavery there was not one where you sometimes see somebody in chains and beaten up, but rather that was a lifestyle where they were cared for by the family that they served and they could earn their freedom and become free.
And so it’s not quite the same thing as what a lot of people are, you know, down on today. But obviously it’s wonderful that we all were described as in the Bible as being slaves to sin. And incapable of getting ourselves out of that dilemma. That’s why Christ came as a Savior and he redeemed us, which means he bought us, he paid the price to buy us out of slavery, and we have all been set free as a Christian.
Wow, what a wonderful concept that is. And so Matthew, you were a slave prior to your salvation experience, but now you’ve been set free. And the Bible says in Matthew 8, rather John, just in Gospel chapter 8, that when you know the truth, the truth shall set you free. So you were a slave to sin and to sin nature, but now you’ve been set free from the penalty of sin and death through Christ’s death with the cross of Calvary.

Now please join us as we continue the Book of Daniel teaching series from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. The false part of salvation always causes us to look to our future.
So, if you’re being asked by any preacher to look to your own future and things that you will do or not do as the things that will determine whether you make heaven or not, you’re listening to a false message. The true message always takes us back to the cross where Jesus said it’s finished, paid in full, it’s done, it’s settled. And when you trust what Christ did, that He finished the work of salvation, God saved And you become saved at that moment and you’re saved forever.
You’re saved next week, next year, 10 years from now, 100 years from now, a million years from now, it’s not temporary life that he offers, it’s salvation, not probation, but salvation. It’s not a trial period, but it’s everlasting life. Once you trust the Lord, I tell people you’re stuck. You have to go to heaven whether you like it or not. Learn to live with it. Tough break. And of course, it freezes up to be able to serve the Lord because I’m not worried about that’s what Christ did for me.
Now I’m his and now I can live for him and my focus can be on living for him, not on trying to keep myself saved, which a lot of Christians are in that trap where they’ve been robbed of their assurance and they’re just absolutely useless. The devil has neutralized them because they have nothing to say to anybody so they can’t witness because what would they witness if they witnessed? Would they go up to somebody and say, how would you like to be as confused as I am?
I am totally confused and insecure, and wouldn’t you like to be like me? Let me tell you how to become like me. Obviously, you have no message at all. And you can tell people that I have eternal life. That Jesus paid it all. I have been born again from the moment I trusted Christ that I’m forever God’s child now. That is empowering and we’ve got a great message to tell people. And I don’t have to witness about me. I witness about what Christ did for me, what He did.
And He’s the Savior. He’s the one I tell Him about. And obviously we ought all ought to do that. But isn’t that interesting here, Matthew 722, we have people that acknowledge the Lordship of Christ, then brag about how they were committed to the Lordship of Christ. And Jesus said, that was wonderful. No. He says in verse 23, I never knew you, depart from me that work iniquity. I think the majority of Christianity is a counterfeit. I think the majority of those who claim that they are Christians are not going to make heaven at all, because in reality they’re trusting in their works.
And when I say these things, I’m pleading for their souls that we might reach them and make sure that they are genuinely believers. And they might be loved ones and friends and family members that might have made some kind of profession and walked an aisle or said something about a new Christ. But if they were to die, they wouldn’t be there on the other side with you in heaven because in reality they were trusting in their works or how they lived their life to be saved rather and trusting Christ alone as the Savior who paid for all their sins past, present, and future.
I think it’s vitally important for us to make sure. I remember when I got saved and my sister had gotten me into a Bible study where I got saved, where I heard it. The two of us then worked on the rest of the family. And then we finally got my mother and my dad were all saved as a family unit. And then we’d work on an extended family. And my dad was always concerned about his dad. And I’ll never forget Sunday afternoons.
We never did much after a big dinner. We’d always have a Sunday dinner at our home. And my dad would say to me, let’s go over and check out granddad. So we’d go over to granddad’s house. My dad and I, we’d get him out on the back porch and we’d grill him. What do you have to do to go to heaven granddad? And we’d try to trip him up and trick him and everything else. And we did that many a time.
And you know, when he finally passed away, there was no doubt in our minds as to where he went. We knew he was saved. And I thought, isn’t that a great idea? Let’s check people out. You might have people in your family that you think are saved, but it wouldn’t hurt to go check them out and say, how do you know? What are you trusting in? If you were to die right now, where would you go? And how do you know?
Can you lose it? And ask the right questions and then grill them. And wouldn’t it be great to do that and just be satisfied in your mind that there’s no question about where they would spendategically? That doesn’t happen like it ought to happen. Many times, I’ll have a funeral. And I’ll ask the wife, what’s your husband’s name? And she’ll say, we never really talked about that. I mean, how can that happen? Or vice versa. That is so sad. And they’re left not sure about that family member that is slipped into eternity.
I don’t really know. It only takes a little bit of time to get it settled. So you don’t have to worry about that. You can say, I know my dad is in heaven. I know my mom is in heaven. I know my wife is in heaven. I know my child is in heaven because they’ve trusted price. And I heard him tell me that. I’ve questioned them. I’ve asked them. And they were sure. They had the right answers and no question in my mind about their salvation.
I think we need to do that because there is a resurrection one day and you’ll either be saved or lost, heaven or hell based upon whether you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior not. And if we are wise, we’ll be turning people to Christ as the means of their righteousness, not their works. Because remember, what if they do all these wonderful works? Christ said they’re filthy rags. All of your righteousnesses are as filthy rags. So if you’re trusting in what you’re doing, all you’re doing is building up a bigger pile of filthy rags to hand God which will not allow you in the heaven.
Let’s go to chapter 12 of Daniel, now verse 4. But now O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book. Now Daniel’s book was sealed up but the book revelation was open. It says, seal it even till the time of the end. And then Daniel says, two interesting things here. she’ll travel to and fro. My goodness, look at what has happened. A hundred years ago, they say very few people ever traveled even out of their own county, much less their own state in which you were born.
If you have married, you use and marry somebody within your own county. You didn’t travel very far. And here the Bible talks about this traveling, this running to and fro in the end times. How many of you have been outside of the United States? Raise your hand. Look at this. Look at that. I mean, almost everybody here raised their hand. You’ve been out of the United States. A hundred years or so ago or more ago, you wouldn’t have been out of your own county hardly.
You wouldn’t travel very far at all. And now everybody’s traveling to and fro. The Bible says that would be a sign of the times were in it. I can go just a block from this church, get on an airplane and fly almost anywhere in the world. Isn’t that amazing? Columbus would be jealous. Wow, think about it. Three months on that little teeny ship that he rode on. And here you can get on a plane now and be around the world in a few hours.
And amazing. We are living in the last days. Sir Isaac Newton was a Christian and he wrote a commentary on the book of Daniel. In his commentary, he said people would travel to and fro in the last days and probably they would exceed speeds of 60 and 70 miles an hour. I think you probably do that on the interstate every day. His adversary, Voltaire, a French atheist said, now Newton, you’ve really gone out of the Everybody knows that if you traveled over 60 or 70 miles an hour, the very flesh should be ripped off your bones.
You know, kind of funny when you look back and see what they would say. And wouldn’t it be something if you stuck your arm out the wind as you got an interstate? All the flesh torn off your arm. But they didn’t know that we’d traveled far faster than that. And a man has exceeded 25,000 miles per hour in breaking the Earth’s gravity to go to the moon and so on. And obviously we anticipate being able to travel even at faster speeds than that.
It also says your knowledge should be increased. That doesn’t mean that you or I would be smarter. But the cumulative knowledge of mankind is doubling now at an incredible rate. If you graduated in a particular field of expertise within a couple of years, your education is out of date. You have to go back to be refreshed and renewed and whatever you’re doing. Every field is changing rapidly like that, isn’t it? Thanks for listening to Bible Eye with Dr. Hank Lindstrom.

Be sure to tune in to another edition of Bible from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Everybody on the planet is affected by whether or not they would receive the Savior who is God himself who took on human flesh, the Lord Jesus Christ. And look at what he says here. I am God and there is none else.
We just read in verse 18 of Isaiah 45, did he created the heavens? He created the universe. This is the God we’re talking about. He created the sun, the moon and the stars. Guess what? Not every religion worships the same God. The Muslims for example worship Allah and he’s the moon God that was one of the tribal gods in the deserts out there in Saudi Arabia and and Mohammed simply picked one of those tribal gods and made him their God and guess what every time you see a prayer tower a Minaret all over the Middle East and we have them here in Tampa at the University of Tampa We have these prayer towers these minarets just what’s at the top of each one of them a crescent moon That’s right because the prayers go up to the moon.
They pray to the moon God. Oh my goodness You know on our ambulances we have a red cross Because why we believe in Jesus and the death at the cross and that he’s the God who can save and Redeem and he can hear our prayers and he can heal us and so on But if you look at the ambulances in the whole Muslim world, they have a crescent moon. They pray to the moon In case they’re injured or wounded or hurt and need help, they pray to the moon to get help.
Look at what God says here. I am God and there is none else. Verse 22 of Isaiah 45, look unto me and be ye saved all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else. He says that in verse 23, I have sworn by myself the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness and shall not return.” What does that mean? God is never going to take His word back. He’s not going to change His mind.
I don’t you ever remember, I used to remember as a child, kids would make promises and then they would say, well, I take my promise back, or that promise doesn’t count because my fingers were crossed, all this crazy nonsense. And you know, that was irritating and of course upsetting when somebody would take back a promise that they had made. But God will never do that. He says, My Word has gone forth in righteousness and shall not return. That means God has never got to take His Word back.
What you find here in the Bible is permanent. Peter tells us in the New Testament, the Word of God liveth in abideth forever and ever. Now get ready here in Isaiah 45 verse 23. He says here that unto me, this is what He swore. This is what is gone forth out of his mouth. This is what shall not return. Then unto me every knee shall bow, in every tongue shall swear. Wow, that’s what we just read in Philippians. And we find that it tells us there in Philippians that Jesus is God, and that he is the one that this is talking about in Isaiah, that unto me every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess, that Jesus is God.
He is Jehovah, or Yahweh. You cannot be saved any other way. And behest of the Lord. And then it says that the one who believes on Christ, you’ll not be ashamed. He’ll be righteous in God’s sight because of Christ’s substitution or death in his place. Let me go back to Philippians 2 because it says that Jesus has been highly exalted and given a name above every name. And in Philippians 2 verse 10 it says that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth.
And that every tongue she confessed that Jesus Christ is Yahweh or Jehovah, that he’s the God of creation, the God of the Bible, the God that created the sun, moon and the stars, and told us not to worship any one of them. Well that’s what the Bible is talking about in Romans 10 and 9. It’s not talking about submitting to the Lordship and being obedient, which is works for salvation, is talking about recognizing who Christ is and that he is the Savior and that he’s the one who died and paid our sin debt in full.
